The best wedding lobster bake!

We couldn’t have asked for a better catering experience for our wedding! The lobster bake was absolutely incredible—fresh, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. It was a huge hit with all our guests, and such a fun experience. Roxanne was amazing to work with and so helpful with all of our questions and requests along the way. The team went above and beyond to make everything seamless, professional, and stress-free. It was a highlight of the entire celebration, and we’re so grateful we chose them!

The finest wedding caterers

We hired Foster's Clambake and Catering for our wedding reception and rehearsal dinner and could not have been happier with the food, the service, and the experience! Roxanne, Michelle, and their crew are an absolute dream to work with. They were helpful and responsive in every step of the process, from selecting menu items to accomodating dietary restrictions to their impeccable and professional presentation. Their culinary creations are delicious and their menu options are expansive. With Foster's, we were able to stay comfortably within our budget without having to restrict our choices. We selected family-style presentation for our reception and the portions were more than generous. Our guests have not stopped raving about the food since the wedding. Foster's is incredible and we cannot recommend them enthusiastically enough!

Incredible and authentic Maine wedding meal!

Foster’s Catering absolutely exceeded our expectations for our wedding! They set up an incredible onsite lobster bake that was fresh, perfectly prepared, and a total crowd-pleaser. The BBQ chicken was some of the best we’ve ever had, and they made sure our vegetarian guests were just as thrilled with their meal. The hors d’oeuvres were exceptional, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. From our tasting to the wedding day itself, the entire Foster’s team was personable, flexible, and professional, working seamlessly with our planner and keeping everything stress-free.

Their attention to detail and commitment to hospitality really stood out. Every interaction felt genuine, and it was clear they take pride in what they do. Guests are still raving about the food! We can’t recommend Foster’s highly enough for anyone looking for an unforgettable coastal Maine catering experience.

Amazing Prom Night!

Foster's Clambakes was the perfect venue for Sanford High School's 2025 prom. It's tough for our large school to find a venue to accommodate 350+ kids but Foster's had room to spare. Michelle and Roxanne were so responsive, flexible, and accommodating. They truly listened to what we wanted and executed that above and beyond what we expected. The food was excellent, the hanging lights and space itself created the perfect vibe, and students were dancing and having fun all night! We continue to hear positive reviews from happy students and parents. Thanks for everything Foster's staff!

Delicious food and great service

We were so pleased to have Foster's cater an off-site lobster bake for our wedding in Rye, NH. The lobster, sides, and appetizers were all delicious. We really wanted our guests to feel taken care of and make sure nobody was disappointed, and Foster's made that happen. The quality of food was excellent while the price was comparable or better than other caterers. Garrison was great to work with and flexible as we dealt with the challenges of planning and re-scheduling our wedding during the pandemic.

Highly Recommend

We had our rehearsal dinner at Foster’s and I cannot express how pleased we are with our experience! Michelle and all of the staff at Foster’s were great to work with and made our event a breeze. All of our guests continue to rave about the food – lobsters, clam chowder, clams, mussels, ect (the works!). Everything was absolutely delicious and the venue was both beautiful and highly functional. We highly recommend Foster’s – we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect rehearsal dinner!

Outstanding!

I cannot say enough great things about Foster's Catering. I worked directly with Garrison who was amazing! She was so easy to get a hold of and checked in frequently throughout the planning process. Catering is easily one of the most expensive pieces to your wedding, and Garrison helped make sure the cost was within range of our budget. The day of the wedding Garrison and her staff were sweet and attentive to our guests, and especially us. The food was absolutely AMAZING! Everyone, literally everyone could not stop raving about it the next day. I would easily hire Foster's for another event. Thank you all!

Amazing wedding

There is not enough space in this review to explain just how AMAZING Fosters and its staff are. We got married here on 10/30/20 and it was absolutely perfect thanks to Garrison and Beth!

Back in August we had to change our original wedding plans of getting married in PR, because we did not want our guests getting on a plane due to COVID. I called multiple venues in York and the surrounding area to see what our backup options were. I originally spoke with Beth and she could not have been nicer or more helpful! She answered all of my questions and put a hold on our date before we even came to visit. From the start they were just so friendly, easygoing, and accommodating.
Once we saw the venue we knew immediately that it was perfect for us. Its cozy, charming, clean, and so spacious! Both inside and outside.
We mainly worked with Garrison throughout the planning process and she was INCREDIBLE! I genuinely never felt stressed even with all of the unknowns going on in the world because I knew that she would find a way to make our day perfect! and she did!
Flash forward to the day before our wedding. We were supposed to have our ceremony at the beach up the road but snow was on the forecast. Garrison and Beth didn't miss a beat!!! They gave us a ton of options and were so easy going and flexible. We wound up doing our ceremony in the York Room and it was beautiful.
Our wedding day went seamlessly! We helped decorate the room the day before which was amazing. When we showed up everything looked perfect and they had a fire going inside and outside. Beth and Garrison made sure our ceremony went smoothly and that us and our guests had everything we needed throughout the night.
THE FOOD. OMG. Our guests are still RAVING about how delicious the grilled lobster bake was! and the crab cakes! and the homemade onion dip! and the blueberry crumb cake!!! Everyone said that I wouldn't eat at my wedding but they were SO wrong! I had everything and can personally vouch for how delicious it was.
Thank you Garrison and Beth for making our day so perfect!!!! I don't know why anyone would get married anywhere else!

Fantastic, Flexible, and Fun!

Foster's was easy to work with from Day 1. They were very responsive and helpful in providing options for our rehearsal dinner and getting our contract setup.

They were both sympathetic and flexible in our changes that were needed due to Covid. When our reception plans were sacrificed, they worked hard to turn our rehearsal into a reception to remember. They put my mind at ease when dropping off the decorations, and I was exuberant to see how they brought my vision to life.

The service was top notch, the function space gorgeous, and the food delectable. I would recommend anyone looking for a caterer in the Seacoast region to check them out!

Foster's Clambake

We hired Foster's for both our wedding ceremony and reception and we could not have been more pleased. The people at Foster's are professional, very nice and helpful. They made sure our day went how we imagined it and they were super accommodating. We decided to have a traditional Maine Clambake for dinner and the food was fantastic! Everyone loved it! Beyond perfect

We can’t say enough great things about our experience. Everything was perfect! The best way I can describe it is that they turned a dream into a reality! We dropped decorations off the day before and when I walked in the day of my wedding- it was even better then i could have imagined. Stress free, easy to work with, great pricing, and great food !

We don’t even know where to begin in recommending and thanking Foster’s enough for our spectacular wedding held at The Viewpoint Hotel in York, ME this September. Beth was a complete GEM to work with. Foster’s is one of the vendors that our venue preferred, and it makes complete sense why! From the tasting we had on a cold April day (when Foster’s hadn’t even opened for the season yet) to the end of our wedding reception, Beth was working with us to ensure we had the absolute best experience. She checked our rentals list to make sure we had listed exactly what we needed (and caught some mistakes we had made on linen length- who even pays attention to a detail that small?) and made recommendations that worked perfectly for us. The food was, obviously, stellar and we are still hearing about the incredible service from all the staff. At one point, as my husband and I were running to our next photo-op, one of the servers stopped us to offer a full plate of appetizers that she had cut up in to quickly-consumed bite sized pieces. The thought that went into our day and our happiness, down to the littlest of details did not go unrecognized by us or ANY of our guests. We are sure that had we chosen any other caterer, the day would not have been nearly as extraordinary.

Our daughter's wedding was a destination wedding, and so much of what we did, we had to do long distance. We did have a chance to meet with Jenna about two months prior to the wedding, and she set several hours aside for us. I noticed she never said no. She made us feel like we were the only clients she had, and worked with us throughout to be sure everything was ready for the big day. It was absolutely wonderful, from the food to the setting. I know sometimes when you need to plan something, you need to trust your instincts, and Foster's was absolutely the most wonderful venue for us. We are thankful to all.

We can not say enough about Fosters. Everything from start to finish was top notch, from the 1st planning stages to the end of the evening of the Wedding. Beth and her staff are extremely accommodating, and full of energy! Fosters was there for us the entire weekend from the Rehearsal Dinner Cruise on the Thomas Leighton, the Welcome Party after the rehearsal dinner and the Wedding itself at Harbour Place. Everything was provided offsite and it was seamless. The presentations of every single thing was gorgeous and the quantities were amazing. In the words of countless guests, it was the best wedding food they have ever had.

I loved the personal service even though I was having a smaller wedding. I really didn't know what I was doing so they guided me through what I should and needed to think about for our big day. The grounds were very clean and beautiful on Oct 1st! What a lovely setting and the food was terrific. Working with Foster's staff was the best part of my wedding planning experience.

We were recently held both our wedding and reception at Fosters and it was one of the best decisions we made about our day. The staff was attentive, enthusiastic, and responsive. The location itself was easy for traveling guests and super cute, as several of our guests reminded us over the course of the evening. The food was great. But the really incredible part was Jenna, our coordinator, who answered every question, accommodated every quirky request, assembled our center pieces and made the reception hall look gorgeous, and did it all with enthusiasm and genuine care. We cannot recommend Fosters highly enough!!

I had my rehearsal dinner at Fosters 9/22/17. From the start of planning through the day they were very professional and helped everything go off without a hitch! Food was delicious! My fiance and I were going for a little more laid back feel for our rehearsal and this was perfect! Not to mention food was amazing! There was a wedding going on in the main building the same night and it looked beautiful! Would definitely recommend.

We cannot say enough good things about Foster's Clambake and Catering. Their food, the venue, and their staff go above and beyond. We recently had our wedding at their venue which is absolutely beautiful and in such a great location for any guests staying in the area. Our guests raved about the food, which we selected from their catering menu but also created some unique items just for our wedding. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely excited to be a part of our day. I cannot say enough good things about Beth Wilson. She cares about your wedding as if it's your own. I have been in the event planning industry for a long time and had no problem at all letting go of the reins. Beth was on top of all the details and took everything we planned and made it better than we imagined with set up, their buffet/station planning, and attentiveness. My family absolutely loved working with her. Whether your wedding or event be onsite or offsite, Foster's will take all of your visions and make them a reality.

Beth and the team at Foster's is AMAZING!!! They went above and beyond for our off-site wedding reception and helped make our day so special and memorable for us. We held our reception in York, Maine, so naturally, we had a lobster bake and we are so happy we did. The food is so amazingly delicious, the service was terrific - our guests are still talking about it. We were both able to relax and enjoy every minute of our wedding because we knew that Beth was running the show. Beth and her team made us feel like family and like the most important people in the world! :) If you are looking to host an awesome Maine lobster bake or BBQ - Foster's is the way to go!

This food is phenomenal. We used their buffet-style BBQ menu (pulled pork and quarter chicken), which came with coleslaw, the best cornbread in the world, corn on the cob, beef hotdogs, potato salad, and this amazing blueberry crumbcake. It was mindblowing, truly, especially for the price.

To back up, our wedding was on 8/5/16 in Yarmouth, ME, and we contacted them in March, so there was about 5 months planning time. We went for a taste test and we were sold! They were so incredibly nice, too, and also were exceptionally accommodating to some of our Celiac (gluten-free) friends and family.

We hired their catering service as well as their full cash bar service, since our reception was in Maine (they can't do bar service for out of state events for liability reasons, I'm assuming). The bartender, Dan, was a hoot!

Honestly, I've been to other weddings where they paid an arm and a leg for their plates and the food was just bland. We ended up paying maybe around $27-30 per person for about 120 people and we had everyone raving about how amazing the food was. People are still talking about it months later! It was worth every penny, especially since they had the delivery, the servers, set up and clean up, not to mention the plates, silverware, and tablecloths.

It was flawless and I'm so incredibly glad we had them at our wedding. I'd recommend their BBQ menu to everyone!

I can not say enough about Dani and her team! Fosters was amazing. Not only was the food incredible (it was cooked offsite at our venue location - my parents backyard) but they were incredibly professional but fun at the same time. Lots of our guest both complimented on the food and the service. Dani went above and beyond as it rained 20 minutes before the ceremony and her crew was out there wiping off chairs and they did so much more then what was required of them that day. They are definitely a class act and I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks for helping make my wedding day perfect!

W.O.W - the BEST! I mean...this food was incredible. This was a reception at a family business on the ocean in Old Orchard Beach. Amazing service, delicious food and just perfect. My fiance and I love lobster and steamers. I am a true Mainer who loves a good lobster bake more than anyone. Hence, why we wanted one for our wedding reception! The steamers, corn, salads, everything were so good. Soft shell lobster was great, and never did we feel like it was a messy affair. This was an elegant evening with a rustic vibe made possible by Fosters. We brought in pies for dessert from another vendor and they helped serve and complete the meal. It was a perfect meal and we have received compliments non stop since the event. Thank you!

My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at Fosters in September, 2015. We were so pleased with their service. The food, service, decorating, scheduling and attention to detail was phenomenal. Our guests are still telling us that it was the best wedding food they have ever had! The owner, Kevin, was so kind and helpful and gave us zero pressure when we met him. The wedding coordinators were simply amazing. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a rustic, laid back, orderly, sweet, intimate, beautiful wedding!

I can't say enough good things about Foster's! We had our ceremony and reception on site, and when we arrived, the ceremony site was all set up and the pavilion was decorated beautifully for the reception...we didn't have to do a thing! The dinner portions were huge and delicious, and our guests are still talking about how much fun the reception was. The level of service we received from the staff throughout dinner was outstanding and something you don't see every day. Well worth every penny, and if I could do it all over again I would definitely choose Foster's!

We used Foster's for our rehearsal dinner and we had an amazing time! It was beautifully decorated and the staff were so responsive. Everyone LOVED the food (we had the cookout menu) probably almost more than the food at the actual wedding. Everyone kept going up for seconds! Foster's was amazing for our destination wedding! We were married at Rye Harbor State Park and they brought everything to us! I was a little nervous that they weren't able to cook on site but the food was hot and delicious and guests said it was the best wedding food they have had. Joe and I worked with Foster's for our clambake wedding reception at an offsite location nearby in York, ME. The team was incredibly easy to work, generous and full of ideas. They were flexible and true partners as we came to them with ideas in how to customize the experience for our guests. Special shout out to Beth, who is truly the best, and Adrian who did a fantastic job making sure everything was executed seamlessly on the day-of. Such an amazing experience. My husband and I used Foster's Clambake for our Rehearsal Dinner onsite in Portland, Maine. The communication prior to the event was excellent- Michelle laid out our different options and the price points and was very responsive. On the day of the event the staff was excellent- they arrived onsite at our outdoor rehearsal dinner space and set up their spread- we selected the clambake option so there was lobster, clams, mussels, rolls, drawn butter, clam chowder, corn on the cob, potatoes, and blueberry crumb cake for dessert. Our guests were blown away. We had many guests from within Maine and outside of Maine at our rehearsal dinner and every single guest was beyond pleased. The food was excellent- I believe my father had 3 cups of their award winning chowder! They also have non-lobster options in this package in case your guests aren't fans of lobster, or have allergies.

Foster's Clambake is also a great value- they show up onsite with the food, serving receptacles, trash bags, bins, lobster crackers - you do not need to provide them with ANYTHING for them to do their job except two tables to serve their food from. They have a full staff to serve your party, take away plates, and clean everything up. All the while their staff was professional, respectful, and kind. They ended up being the absolute perfect choice to kick off our wedding weekend.

The whole team at Foster's is INCREDIBLE! Never once did we regret our decision to go with them for our wedding reception on June 27th. We had an offsite wedding at a family estate in York and Michelle was so helpful in working with us in all of our various needs. We had to book Foster's without ever trying their food because we live in Los Angeles and weren't able to fly out to do a tasting in season but Michelle agreed to meet with us around Christmas break to discuss everything we needed. We went with the BBQ menu and made sure to have Lobster on the menu (of course). I and a few other family members are vegetarian and Michelle said they were equipped to make whatever type of vegetarian dish I desired, so I sent them an idea for a vegetarian dish and it was BEYOND what I could have expected! EVERYTHING was AMAZING. People are still talking about the food! We had PLENTY of food to go around and people were ecstatic to be able to try more than just the lobster. The blueberry crumb cake and corn bread are so good that I'm thinking about trying to find a way to have them ship it out to Los Angeles for me every month :)

Not only did Foster's accommodate our every food need, but they also made sure that the tables were set exactly how we wanted them, they provided us with NUMEROUS items (that we would've had to rent or buy) at no cost to us as long as they were returned, and they went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything that we needed! Michelle, Adrian, and Kevin (and the rest of the Foster's team) were a dream come true. I look back at the whole day and how at ease I felt and know that a lot of that was due to Michelle and Adrian. Whenever I had a conversation with either of them, I knew that I was in good hands! Everything went EXACTLY how I wanted it to go without any hiccups! They are the nicest, most accommodating, organized, and DELICIOUS catering company/restaurant! I would recommend them to EVERYONE!

My husband and I got married in May and decided to have a clambake party at the Seacoast Science Center to celebrate in July. Fosters was amazing from start to finish! They were extremely detail-oriented during the planning process and kept everything stress-free. The day of the event, Dani and her team were incredibly accommodating and professional. Everything was truly perfect. They took care of every detail so we didn't have to, which really allowed to relax and enjoy our event. Kevin, Beth and Michelle were AMAZING to deal with!!! From the moment we tasted their clam chowder at the Portland Bridal Show, to the second we walked into the venue, we knew this was the PERFECT spot for our "Down East" destination wedding. Everything was perfect! They were so easy to work with and accommodated our every request. Our guest enjoyed watching the cooks prepare the meal out over the open fire while they enjoyed the cocktail hour and hors de overs, and the lobster dinner everyone raved about. When my husband asked me to marry him, the only thing I wanted was to be married in Maine and have a clambake for our reception....Kevin, Michelle and Beth made our dream come true. We also used their catering service the following year for our family reunion on the beach in Maine....again...Five star treatment!

My experience with Foster's Downeast Clambake was exceptional! From our very first inquiry to the bill after our wedding, everything went smoothly. We had no surprises, and they were always quick to respond to any questions I had. They went out of their way to provide special meals for our wedding guests with food intolerances/allergies, and all of their food was absolutely delicious! We received rave reviews from our guests both at the wedding and months later (in total we had approximately 120 guests at our wedding). My daughter's wedding was held at Laudholm Farm, Wells, ME. On July 26, 2014.
Fosters catered the wedding and it was outstanding including everything from the preparation to the execution. Our guests commented that the food was wonderful and a welcome change from the ordinary wedding fare. It was so "maine" as it should be! Itthe clambake ambiance lent itself so well to the venue. Our guests loved it!!! Beth, who is in charge of the functions does an exceptional job. Her suggestions and recommendations were so helpful and appropriate. It made such a difference. When the bride, myself (mother) and maid of honor met for the final run through Beth had everything set up for a table so Kasey, the bride could see how things would work. It was a great opportunity to fether out the small details and allowed us to make changes based on Beth's knowledge & experience that made the entire reception run smoothly. That day Beth assured the bride that the everything would run smoothly...and it did.....it set the tone for the entire affair. The intern from Wentworth who assisted and basically ran the meal on that evening coordinating with the brides wedding people was so special and did an exceptional job. I cannot say enough good things about Fosters's and their professionalism & knowledge. Everything was outstanding.

We could not have made a better choice having our wedding ceremony and reception at Foster's. From the first tour we took to the end of our amazing wedding night Foster's was amazing in every way. The staff, all of them, but especially Michelle and Beth were awesome to work with; they truly put my mind at ease helping with every detail and making sure the day went smoothly. The venue was perfect for our outdoor ceremony, laid back outdoor cocktail hour with lawn games, and beautiful reception in the pavillion with a delicious and filling clambake dinner. Our guests continue to rave about how unique and fun it was. Foster's was so accomodating and felxible. They allowed us to bring in 30 bails of hay for additional seating during our ceremony and lawn games to be played during cocktail hour, they even set up a S'mores station for us. Beth helped me find local vendors and rental companies, including ceremony chairs, linens, Trolley, and DJ. The day of our wedding Beth attended to every detail. I truly could not think of a single complaint if I tried.

The Fosters Downeast Clambake team did a fabulous job. We had large party outdoors in our backyard under a tent and Fosters brought in lobsters pre-cooked with all the fixings. It was a huge crowd-pleaser and their staff was wonderful!

Excellent from start to finish. Very pleasant experience. Staff was extremely accommodating. Would highly recommend, excellent value. I shopped many venue's and their primary concern was pushing alcohol and the amount of money they would make off the event as they were approaching their slow season. A few putting unreasonable amounts I must spend. Fosters approach was listening and recommending options for alcohol consumption which catered too my wants and budget!

What I loved about Foster's Clambake was not just the food that had our guest raving, but the passion and experience Foster's has. When our original venue fell through on us (true story- 3 months before the wedding!), Foster's was able to pull some strings and helped us get in with the View Point in York Maine- the most photographed lighthouse view in the country. My husband and I LOVE clambakes, but our wedding was rustic chic and we wanted to take a little "mess" out of the lobstah equations. Fosters didn't just take the mess out, they offered us a 5 star menu that 2 years later people are still raving about. Beth who helps to coordinate all of the details used her years of wedding experience to make sure we were considering the timing of appetizers, drinks, announcements, the dances, cake, desert as well as the layout of the space and even decor. I was overwhelmed during my wedding week and she helped to make sure all of our ducks were in a row. That's priceless. She also helped create a "special drink of the night," that some of my friends stole for their weddings! Our wedding was a day/night we will never forget, and Foster's was largely responsible for that. They are more than just a catering service... they are a support system that creates so much ease and added pleasure to any event they put on. Side note- My friend had his wedding AT Foster's this year- the food again was amazing, and the venue was really fun. The decor and table settings really transformed the space!

when it comes to rating the quality of this company on every level, well, there are no words to truly describe what a painless, wonderful, happy experience it was to deal with Fosters... I was in touch with Beth Wilson, who went above and beyond Every time I needed help deciding on anything from the menu to finding someone to marry us, to help finding a band, deciding the color of the napkins and on and on and on.. she was incredibly helpful on all fronts at all times... as for the actual day, again I don't know where to begin.. the service was incredibly friendly, professional and timely... from them helping my niece, and anyone else who asked, to get the meat out of her lobster to turning just around and there was a drink when I needed one.. to having flowers for my hair waiting right when I arrived on site... Wow!... as for the Food... triple Wow! it was Amazing... the best clam chowder most folk I've spoken to have ever had to .. well, lets just say I'm salivating just thinking about it... all in all it was a complete pleasure dealing with Fosters on every level and for such a reasonable price! Foster's catered our wedding at Odiorne Point State Park back in July of 2010 and over 4 years later, we STILL have friends and family talking about the lobster dinner! We had a lot of guests from out of state, so a traditional Maine clambake was a treat for them to see as much as it was on their taste buds.

From our first meeting, Beth discussed options with us and helped us determine what we would need for appetizers, table linens, etc. She even helped us with the timeline of our day! She recommended several other vendors for us - our florist, our DJ... and we were very happy with their services as well. She went above and beyond, and it made things much easier for us to plan with her help.

On the big day, things went perfectly. It was 97 degrees outside, but the clambake rolled on! The cooks were gracious enough to explain the process of cooking the meal to our curious guests. The service was friendly and speedy, despite the servers rushing around in the disgusting heat.

Like I mentioned previously, everyone raved about the food and even continues to do so after so many years - how many weddings have you been to that you actually remember what you ate for dinner?! That speaks for itself! I highly recommend Foster's Clambake!

We held our wedding reception at Foster's Downeast Clambake in York, ME, on Saturday, October 11th.

The clambake hall transformed from a big room lined with red-checkered tables to a ballroom that had rustic elegance. The lights and candles, once the sun went down, made the whole scene glow, and the autumn pumpkins and hay bales gave the place a fairy-tale feel. It was a truly special setting for our wonderful reception.

Oh, and the food??? The appetizers were to die for, and our guests loved the scallops wrapped in bacon and our special-made empanadas. Guests had a choice between lobster, beef tenderloin, or a vegetarian meal, and the food was incredible. My lobster came with clams, mussels, potatoes, corn, and chowder. Don't forget the chowder!

Kevin Tacy, the owner, made us feel right at home. There is a picture of him with former President George H. W. Bush in the hallway by the offices, and it's clear that he knows what he's doing. When we were touring, we were sold on his warmth and genuine kindness. Beth, the manager, was who we spoke to about the details. As we got closer to the date of our reception, we spoke with her often. Nothing made my wife feel better than talking with Beth. Beth understood the kind of event we were looking to have, assured us that she had everything under control, and delivered beyond our expectations.

We could not be happier with Foster's! I couldn't recommend it enough!

Adrian and the Foster's team are AMAZING! They helped us give our guests a real Maine experience. They were so flexible, especially with our venue. We had our wedding aboard the Bay Mist - part of the Casco Bay Lines Fleet. They set up and broke down beautifully! We all loved how attentive they were with our shuck buckets and helping keep us and the boat clean. Our guests stuffed themselves! Everyone was absolutely raving about how the event was so comfortable and easy, even the deckhands! Fabulous crew and a fabulous time all around!

Foster's Clambake was out of this world. They can travel anywhere but if you are doing a seaside wedding this is the company you MUST have. They will get it done right. They will serve every meal hot and of the highest quality no matter the size of your wedding. I can't say enough.
They made specialty drinks that my friends are now emailing me about for their upcoming wedding, they had grommet h'orderves (seriously call to see about all they have to offer!!!), and although their lobster bakes are out of this world, they did a high end beef medallion with an incredibly delicious lobster salad (made that day). They also had a great dish for the vegetarian crew (I was too busy to stop and taste but I got really great feedback!). Their staff was terrific. Beth from Foster's was in contact with us throughout the whole process making sure that everything was how we wanted it. The week leading up to the wedding she went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our day. They are true professionals. They can guide you where you need guidance, and listen to your ideas when you have a vision and taste that you want fulfilled. I recommend this company wholeheartedly!

We had our ceremony & reception at Foster's, and no other place could have been more perfect. The staff was amazing, responsive and friendly. The food was tremendous! Guests kept telling us that they've never had so much food at a wedding. Our coorindator, Beth, was an angel. She worked so hard in the 90 degree heat to make sure everything ran as smoothly as possible. The venue even gave us a few upgrades for no extra charge. Foster's is a wonderful value, a beautiful space and the perfect place for a real Maine wedding.

Foster's catered our Rehearsal Dinner on location at a private house in New Gloucester, Maine. Almost all of our guests were traveling to Maine and we wanted to give them a true lobster bake experience. Foster's did an amazing job and all of our guests loved it. The food was delicious (I love their clam chowder!!) and their stagg was super nice, chatting with the guests and answering all of their questions (some guests had never had a lobster!). They were so accommodating in giving us kid's meal and vegetarian options as well. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a truly wonderful and authentic lobster bake experience!

We had our wedding ceremony in St. John USVI in May. We wanted to plan a post wedding reception a couple of months after we got back. We knew right away, when planning this party last fall, that Foster's was THE place. York Harbor, ME was near where we both grew up/summered with our families. We met with Beth Wilson last fall to discuss our initial plans. What a gem she was. Over the course of the 9 month planning period, she treated us like family and had every idea layed out for us. She knew what she was doing.

Our party was amazing. Everyone loved the casual attire and summer island celebration theme. We had everything planned in terms of using a beach theme while also incorporating island specialty drinks, an In Memory table, light house and seashell hurricane lamps as table centerpieces, etc., etc. Beth and her team made our day easy, comfortable and nothing less than fun.

The manager (Kevin) was a gracious host, who encouraged to use the newly built private room...it has its own attached stone patio with open fire pits, candles, and party lighting that made sitting outside a real pleasure even though there was a chill in the air.
The cocktail hour and hors d'oeuvres were very nicely done, from the Antipasto to the Melted Brie Crostini w/ Pomegranate, Caramelized Onion & Toasted Pecans...all were very nicely prepared and presented. For dinner, the Lobster bake dinner was superb...even the locals were complimentary!
But, most of all, a huge THANK YOU to Jenna, who was spectacular in working with us to make this such a special evening. Thanks also to Lisa, who was so easy to deal with in making the reservations and Kevin, who was just terrific in making us feel welcomed from the very start.
For anyone hosting an event there, you should seriously consider the private room, even for the small room fee upcharge...it is much more intimate and special. You can still walk right around the corner from your private patio to watch the guys manning the lobster baking pit, which is always fun for guests.

Amazing food!

Fosters were so great to work with for our wedding! They were so kind and helpful, and the staff was extremely pleasant to work with and willing to go out of their way to help with whatever we needed.

And of course, the food was amazing! We had so many guests telling us how much they enjoyed their meals. It was wonderful!

We had a great experience working with Fosters for an offsite lobster bake. They were always responsive and quick to answer questions via email. We had a lot of last minute changes secondary to rainy weather and the team from fosters did a great job adapting to the changed plan. The food was hot and delicious. Would highly recommend for lobster bake wedding!

Beth Wilson was the best thing about choosing Fosters for our wedding. She was more like a last minute wedding planner, helping me organize linens, fold napkins, count dishes that I had ordered from a rental place (vs going with their paper) to make sure I had ordered enough. Priceless.

Then there was the lobster. I didn't get to see the fire pit, as everything was gone before we got over to the reception area, but we do have pictures and my guests said it was awesome. Food was great. Some hidden/extra fees, but in the end the experience was magical.

My daughter wanted a casual wedding with the downeast flare. Fosters was perfect. The clambake was great, they were very accomodating by allowing us to bring in special appetizers and desserts. They also went out of their way to make my family sangria recipe. They never said "no" with any of our requests and my daughter has only wonderful memories of that day. The wedding planner was always there to help and suggests but never intrusive. Wedding date was 8/3/2013 and we had about 180 people.

We had the absolutely BEST experience working with Foster's for our wedding reception. First of all, the staff is fantastic. Every single person we spoke with was friendly and accommodating and, surprisingly given all the weddings they do, we got such special attention that we felt like we must be the only people they were working with (NOT true! But it felt like we were #1). Beth, our go-to gal, was amazing and so open to creating the look and feel we were going for. At first, I considered hiring a day of planner because I was worried about feeling stressed having to take care of things day of. I had to do NOTHING, at all, every detail was taken care of by Beth and the staff and when we walked in to the reception and I looked around it was PERFECT! Our guests have not stopped talking about what a great time they had, how delicious the food was, and how beautiful the venue looked. If you are looking for the perfect New England venue, look no further.

As a native land-locked girl planning a semi-destination East Coast themed wedding, I wanted to go all out and make sure our wedding was unforgettable and fun for everyone who made the trip. I won\'t go in to how many emails, phone calls and visits our venue search included, but I will say that I was SO relieved in SO many ways to finally find Foster\'s. The staff was fun and receptive from the very start. My husband and I still lived in Minnesota at the time of planning which could have made it difficult to plan but Foster\'s was accommodating every step of the way. Beth was amazing and thought of EVERYTHING. \r\n\r\nThe day of the wedding went very smooth and I could tell that the staff at Foster\'s knew what they were doing and took great care in making our guests comfortable and happy. Beth did a wonderful job with the decorations, too, and showed her creativity and ingenuity. \r\n\r\nNow for the most important part: The food. From the first hors d\'oeuvre passed my way (a steak skewer) to the last red potato (not to forget the oh-so-sweet corn on the cob and the lobster itself), I was one very happy bride! The food was delicious and cooked to perfection! Thanks all for making my wedding day one my husband and I will never forget! See you for our one year anniversary!

The bad: Originally was working with Michelle at Foster's, and then was switched to Beth but I was never told why the switch happened. I was supposed to meet with Beth the afternoon before the wedding, and she was super late (over an hour). I was told that the twinkle lights that were burnt out would be replaced before the reception - they were not. We arrived at the reception site to find out that guests were being charged for beverages at the bar - the contract stated open bar. Beth went around to the tables to apologize and to inform them to get their money back from the bartender. Beth apologized profusely for that mistake and made it up to us on the final cost of the open bar. Guests requesting a vegetarian entree were given microwaved eggplant parm (think Lean Cuisine).
The good: Definitely outweighed the bad. Everyone had such a great time. There was no screw ups (that I'm aware of) for food - everyone got what they ordered. Everything was delicious. We were able to get hard shell lobsters for an additional $2/lobster. Completely affordable at about $35/pp, which included chowder, mussels/clams, lobster or chicken, corn, potatoes, and blueberry cobbler. I was worried that 2-7pm would be too short of a time frame, but it really worked out perfectly. Beth had great suggestions for set up. We were able to bring our own apps and desserts instead of ordering through them (but they do offer that service).

Loved having my rehersal dinner here. The place was very pretty inside but also laid back and fun at the same time. It was a perfect combination for the evening. The food and wait staff was excellent as well!
I would definitely recommend to anyone!

We recently had Fosters cater a private charter of the Thomas Leighton in Portsmouth, NH for our 10 yr high school reunion and they were fabulous. They told us when they thought we were ordering too much food which was super helpful and even offered advice for which foods were best on the cruise. The food was really good, even though it wasn't their clambake specialty. We had the Mediterranean platter, the veggie platter and the sirloin. All were delicious! And Mary was a delight to work with. They are a little pricey, but the food and service is worth the extra cost. I hope to book them for future events soon.

We had Fosters cater our wedding in Cape Neddick, Maine on September 7, 2013. It was absolutely everything that we had hoped for. We chose a full lobster and clam bake hosted at the property. Fosters prepared the food offsite and brought it to be served hot. It was perfectly executed and my guests absolutely loved it. I had many people comment: "this was the best wedding meal I've ever had". Having vacationed in Maine my whole life, I can say it was the best clam chowder I've ever had and my family said the same.

The Fosters wait staff were so wonderful - they served in that way that was professional and helpful. They noticed if someone needed more napkins for that juicy lobster or corn and quickly and discretely stepped in.

I couldn't have been happier with the wonderful meal that really added to what was a dream wedding for us.

When my fiancee and I got engaged we decided early on that we wanted most of our budget to go towards the food. It was a big investment on our part. I could not have been more pleased to choose the BBQ menu from Foster's. They were recommended by our venue, Wallingford Farm Kennebunk Maine. The taste testing was beyond amazing and what sold us. I truly enjoyed working with the whole staff. Everyone was so helpful and supportive. As a bride you are so stressed about everything and Foster's really worked with me to ease the stress and not add to it. The day of our wedding, they were angels sent to us. They set up our tables for us, they served amazing food with smiles, and they broke down everything for us pretty much. It's been three and a half months and our guests still talk to us about our food! Many have said it was the best food they've eaten at a wedding. I couldn't have agreed more!!

This was the highlight of my wedding!!! Gunnar is just getting started bringing the clambake to DC (he's done it forever up North in Maine/NH). He did a GREAT job at the wedding- all the guests just gushed. While many (including my then-fiance and parents) were concerned about eating lobster at a wedding, there was no need! He brings the bibs and the food and the fun! Dinner was an EXPERIENCE, not just something people forgot. And the "clambake" feel made it intimate, like a fancy barbeque.

Foster's catered our September lobster bake wedding at the Seacoast Science Center, and we were very happy with the service we received. Everyone loved the food - not just the lobster, but the clam chowder, the BBQ chicken, and the vegetarian polenta were great and the staff was easy to work with. I would highly recommend Foster's if you're looking for a classic coastal Maine/NH meal!

We had our ceremony & reception here. They did a great job with the dinner service. The bartender was a bit rude to some of my guests, and the bar tab seemed to be a bit much for the few guests i had. But all in all it was a very nice time. The food was excellent.
