Good looking tuxedo!

Great staff at the Orland Park location. The tux fit and matched to a tee. I will definitely use and recommend this place in the future.

Quick & easy.

The ladies at the Orland Park location made choosing our suits/accessories very easy. They were able to help out with trying on and suggesting sizes. Drop off was simple - they did not have to be returned to the exact location as pick up so we had one groomsman drop them all off the next day. Suits were good quality and fairly priced.

My husband had a custom tux made and custom suite for the rehersal dinner made from here---they are perfection and Donny is the best in the business! We rented our tuxes here for the wedding party with men in all shapes and sizes and they all look handsome!

I loved working with them. They were so nice and helpful. Careful cause some of the staff is new and they didn't do the greatest job. But Doug is the man! He fixed, fitted and took care of us perfectly.

I loved our experience at Formally Modern! They were recommended to me by a friend that used them for her wedding. They have a large selection of tuxes and helped us craft the look we wanted. We also got 2 free tuxes for ordering several (can't remember what the minimum was). So we got the groom's free and prorated the other so everyone received a portion off. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. We also ordered our invitations through them (they offered 50% off invitations if we ordered our tuxes there). They had 3 large books with invitation samples to choose from and helped us with the wording, placed the order, and sent an email proof to verify. Our invitations were beautiful - I love them! Very happy with Formally Modern - highly recommend.

My now-husband already had a navy suit for the wedding, and we just needed gray 2-piece suits for the groomsmen. The gave us great advice on picking complementary ties, and we ended up also purchasing pocket squares here as well. Great prices compared to other weddings my husband has stood up in.

Very, very knowledgable staff. Just a really easy process and the guys looked great!

Alex from Formally Modern was just wonderful to work with! He helped my fiance find the perfect tux, he was flexible with fitting dates and last minute changes, and he helped us get the best value for the entire wedding party.

Formally Modern Tuxedo was so easy to work with. We were in and out of there in 30 mins with a perfect tuxedo for the bridal party. The invitation were also perfect. They have a HUGE amount of invites to choose from and the one I chose came out beautiful. Very happy with the service.

I checked out Men's Wearhouse and then happened into Formally Modern, which is actually in the same parking lot, which is about the only thing they have in common. Whereas Men's Wearhouse told me that I could not wear certain things, tried talking me into getting a completely separate tux then the groomsmen, and gave me grief about coming in only 3 months before the wedding, Formally Modern immediately showed me 5 different options, offered free tailoring for the tuxedo, and gave you a personal specialist to walk you through the entire process. Also, since they keep a substantial inventory and competent alterations staff on site, groomsmen were able to get adjustments (many groomsmen were from out of town and had not formally been fitted at the store).

In addition to their superior service, Formally Modern was $90 cheaper per tuxedo, and even threw in the ring bearer tuxedos at no cost. I could not have been happier.

Men's Wearhouse who?? Not only did Formerly Modern beat their price, quality, and amount of style options, but they were 120% more personable and easy to work with. My husband and I worked with Nick at the Countryside store..absolutely fantastic! He was great to work with. He was a no hassle kind of guy which is all I could of asked for. He was also very honest about which tux he thought would best fit my Husband and his groomsman's, and he was spot on! They all looked extremely handsome! Also, Formerly Modern gave us a great deal on our invitations which turned out beautiful! And no matter what the other stores may offer you in incentives...nothing beats what you will receive through Formerly Modern. And no one will be the quality of service you will get with them, hands down! Highly recommended!!! Thanks again for all your help Nick!

We were very impressed with the level or service from FMT! The even called us periodically to alert as to which groomsmen hadn't turned in their sizes. We also loved that my husband was able to keep his tie as a keepsake from the wedding!

All of the tuxedos fit our groomsmen, dads and ring bearer to allow for a flawless wedding. We also appreciated the nice discount they offer when you get a specific number of tuxedos.

We would highly recommend FMT to our friends when they get married!

Donnie at FMT was superb. We opted to get black suits instead of tuxedos. I purchased by suit because I wanted to keep my wedding suit as a momento. I instructed all the other groomsmen to simply wear a black suit, and to wear a tie that I purchased for them at FMT. The photos turned out great - you cannot tell that we are not wearing all the same suits. Three of the groomsmen purchased suits from FMT, one groomsmen returning to purchase 3 more because he liked FMT and their suits so much.

This place beats Men's Warehouse hands down! In the quality of service, and quality of the tuxes. My husband and I got married three weeks ago, and the guys looked sharp! We recommend FMT highly.

Formally Modern Tuxedo made it extremely easy to find a well-fitting suit for the groomsmen and were more than happy to accommodate us when we changed our minds about the color of the vests. It was also very well priced!

I cannot speak more highly of Formally Modern in Schaumburg, IL. We went to see them after going to both David's Bridal and Black Tie. They had the best tux selections, and the best offers for brides. They provide half off invitations and wedding stationary when you order the minimum amount of tuxes from them. We worked with Veronica and another gentlemen who's name escapes me (sorry). They were wonderful. They knew all the answers to our questions. They were attentive. The tux sizings were quick and the tuxes were all right for our wedding day.
We ordered invitations, menus, placecards, and thank you cards from Formally modern. All except the placecards were 50% off. they were of great quality and the we got many compliments on them. The ordering process was easy and they were delivered in a timely manner.
Thank you so much for making this process so easy! Give Veronica a raise. That girl made my day everytime I came in!!!!!

We went to the Schaumbrg, IL location and had such a great experience. We tried Men's Wearhouse first but thought the quality of their tuxes were garbage. We found Formally Modern Tux online and ended up calling before we took the drive to Schaumburg. They promised us a far superior quality than Men's Wearhouse. And let me tell you, they werent joking! I absolutely loved my tux and you could just feel the difference in materials. Hands down Formally Modern Tux id the place to go! Friendly employees and very helpful! We needed a few alterations on pick-up day and they handled those within a few minutes time. Awesome experience!

This place has great promotions. Because we had a large bridal party, we got three tuxedos free - so the groom and the father of the groom and father of the bride had free tuxes - it was a nice way for us to treat our dads.

We also got our invitations and save-the-date cards through here because they also work with stationary vendors. We got 100 save-the-dates for FREE, and had 50% discounts on our invitations.

We rented suits for my husband, our dads, my grandfather, two groomsmen, and two ushers. We worked with Donnie over two appointments to find a suit that my husband loved. The service was absolutely awesome and the price was good. We were so happy to have a pressure-free shopping experience. The guys all looked awesome. The suits were very well fitted. Pick up was easy and the staff took their time with last minute alterations on my husband's suit to make sure my husband looked his best on our wedding day. Drop off was incredibly easy. We HIGHLY recommend Formally Modern.

My now husband decided 1 wk before a wedding that he was serving as a groomsman that was about 3 months away from our wedding that he wanted to purchase a tux instead of renting one. Based on math, he would need to wear the tux about 4-5 times for events that required tux attire to make it worthwhile. Given that he was going to be a groomsman and then get married, we thought this was a fair investment. Formally Modern Tuxedos offer high quality tuxedos for rent and for purchase. The sales staff is patient and accommodating and answered my million questions. We were able to negotiate the price a bit. Also, as we had not decided on whether we wanted bow ties or ties for our own wedding (and thus did not want to purchase a bow tie and tuxedo shirt for that very reason) the owner was very cool and threw in a free tuxedo shirt, bow tie and tuxedo shoe rental for free. When we explained that we were taking a slightly prolonged trip after this wedding, he had no problems for us to return the rental items whenever we got back. The Hugo Boss tuxedo we purchased was high quality and well tailored. Tailoring was included in the overall price. My husband got tons of compliments. I later returned to purchase a Calvin Klein tie for our wedding; similar comparable ties at other places were going for $40 to $150. This tie was only $29.99 plus tax! Great service and high quality!

Great quality rental tuxes

The team at Formally Modern Tuxedo made rentals for all of the groomsmen and dads very easy. Most of the group was coming from out of town and they made it easy and quick for everyone to get measured at a different location or to send in their measurements. The suits for the wedding party were all better quality then what we saw at other places, for a similar price, and fit everyone well. The suits we rented looked great in pictures! We also liked that if something didn’t fit Formally Modern had a warehouse in the chicagoland area and could get replacements to us the next day.

I've used formally modern about 3 times in the last 4 years and overall, they have some stellar service. I used them for my best friend's wedding, my engagement photos, and my wedding.

First off, Amina is spectacular. She is easily the most experienced sales person there and she is so helpful that it is almost unbelievable. She sent us a follow up card, follow up phone calls; she just makes getting you serviced good her first priority. This review mostly applies to our most recent partnership which was for my wedding on 6/12/16.

My groomsmen and I got the morning jacket. They wore black tuxedo trousers and I wore the grey pinstripe trousers. I wore a silver bow tie and they were black bow ties. These tuxedos were STYLISH! Amina was very good at following up on making sure the guys had their measurements and she helps with getting everything tried on. We even had 2 guys coming from out of town who had to have their measurements sent over and their tuxedos still fit perfectly. She is a GEM! Alex, the manager is also very friendly and helpful.

The reason I can't give this review 5 stars is unfortunate. 4 out of 7 guys had the top button on their tux fall off RIGHT before the wedding! Including me, the Groom! It was just lucky that we had someone available with safety pins to doctor the button back on temporarily but otherwise, we would have had to wear our jackets open the whole night and it would of looked tacky. So the buttons must not have been sewn on properly or just poorly designed. That was a bit of an inconvenience. Other than that, the place is fantastic.

Note, if you have a party of 6 or more renting, 2 guys can get their tuxedo free.

We found Formally Modern Tuxedo through friends who used FMT for their wedding. We decided to go with them for their great customer service and accommodations. We worked with Alex, who was very friendly and helpful when it came to choosing the correct attire for our special day. He gave some tips on color, fabric, fit, etc. We were also able to take advantage of one of their specials to get a couple of free tux rentals.

The only reason we would give four stars instead of five stars is because of the price. They are a bit pricier than bigger tux/suit rental warehouses, but they do offer great customer service, which makes the extra dollars worth it.

Formally Modern was very easy to work with & has excellent customer service. All of our groomsmen lived out of town, and had no trouble sending in their measurements and picking up their tuxes.

I wanted to find a place that rented navy tuxes. I had to do a little more work, but I got them to order in 3 different tux samples from 2 websites that supply to rental companies. We found a perfect match, and I was very happy with how they looked.

One of the best wedding vendors we booked. Very professional- never had to worry about them getting it wrong. They quickly made any necessary adjustments when we picked up the tuxes if something wasn't quite right. We also got the invites from them which were gorgeous and we got a lot of compliments one... also came in very fast.

Overall, Really Happy!

We used Formally Modern for our wedding to rent tuxedos for my husband (the groom), the best man, and our 3 Fathers. The following is written by my husband: We primarily worked with Alex in the Chicago store. After a bad experience at Men’s Wearhouse, we were discouraged until we walked into Formally Modern. Alex was so helpful with picking out the color (navy) for my tux jacket and making sure I had the right size ordered. He gave us great personalized suggestions. For folks out of town, they submitted measurements through the website. We had a few small issues at pickup. One of the Fathers from out of town had to come back a second day because his initial tux was the wrong size. For the rest of us, Alex and the rest of the staff was great with finding different sizes, making quick alterations, and making sure everything fit correctly. I (the groom) had to swap out my pants because one of the size adjusters wouldn’t stay in place. My jacket button was also very loose. Luckily I noticed these when I was trying everything on in the store and they quickly fixed them. I wish there was a little more attention put towards making sure clasps and buttons are solid and working in advance. Overall, we were really happy with our rentals from Formally Modern.

We went to the one in schaumburg, Very nice tuxedos worth the extra money. Highly recommend their services. Dont go to a place with cheap tuxedos!!! All the men looked very good in their tuxedos.

I recently used them for our tuxedos and also for my invitationds and programs. They were very accomodating. Joann was great to work with and was very helpful. They give a 50% discount on invitations if you get your tuxes there. That was a hard thing to pick out and then to choose the wording was tough. She helped us with all of that. I would highly recommend them for your wedding!

The men's suits where good quality. There one fault is that they mixed up the sizes for the suits and some men where missing ties. Quick turnaround to try to fix there mistakes. Flexibility to return at any location. Only give you one day to return, which may be inconvinient especially after such a long day.

My first interaction here was very positive, the staff was very warm, welcoming and helpful. I felt that at other places it was chaos and they were too busy to assist. At Formerly, Schaumburg, they took the time to try different looks on and help me understand my options. Overall the price was the best I had seen too. However, once they sealed the deal the service changed a bit. I was displeased with the quality of their white shirts. They looked dingy and were so thin, like tissue paper. I ended up buying the guys their own shirts to wear instead of using the rental. Overall, I guess you get what you pay for. In the end, they guys looked nice and everything worked out. Would have just liked to have seen the same outstanding service throughout the experience as I saw at the start.

My fiance got his,the groomsmen's, ushers', and my father's suits from Formally Modern. The suits were a bit pricey, but they did give us 2 free suits with the amount that we ordered. The staf was very friendly, but when my fiance was measured incorrectly & received pants with a waist 3 sizes too big 2 days before the wedding, they were less than apologetic. The problem was solved (after WE made a trip to Schaumburg to pic up the correct size), and the rest of the experience went rather smoothly. Would recommend this vendor to other grooms.

They were professional enough, but half of my groomsmen had to have adjustments to their tuxes, which is a problem when you're running on a tight schedule. I don't understand why so many of the sizes were wrong when all of the groomsmen had sent in their measurements ahead of time. FMT was pretty busy when my groomsmen and I went to try on the tuxes, so it took a while to get all of the alterations done. Also, the tuxes on display look more fitted/tailored than the tuxes we actually received. This is because the tuxes that are given to people are off the rack. The tuxes on display may have been made to look more fitted. (One of their competitors actually promoted the fact that they tailored tux jackets to be fitted; perhaps we should have considered this more). We got our invitations from FMT too. They looked great, except the first set of invites were the wrong color, and the second set contained about 25 misprints. This is probably not FMT's fault, since the printer is the one who erred. FMT was quick to fix the errors and refund us for the misprints.
