  Delicious Food and Excellent Service

  Kristen, Autumn and the entire team at Forklift elevated our wedding from excellent to extraordinary. Every single guest we heard from during the reception and after praised the cuisine and variety — as well as the incredibly attentive servers — and many said it was the best wedding dinner they had ever eaten. While we're obviously inclined to agree — it was our wedding, after all — the entire process of working with Forklift also leaves nothing but a good taste in our mouths. From accommodating our weird and slightly handmade signature cocktail requests (tomato water martinis for the win!) to their quick attention to every outstanding detail no matter the size, we cannot speak highly enough about this wonderful group. Regardless of what you order, your guests will not be disappointed.

  Great catering experience for a wedding!

  Kristen & her team at Forklift were absolutely incredible to work with! They were communicative and thoughtful throughout the planning process. From tasting to the actual wedding reception, Forklift’s food was creative, beautiful and most importantly delicious! 10/10

  Wedding dreams come true!

  I cannot recommend Forklift enough!! If you are looking for creativity, flexibility, and the most amazing special touches for your wedding, look no further than Forklift. Seriously. From planning to execution, everything was truly flawless. Kristen worked with us to create a completely customized menu of all our favorite foods and drinks (AND with multiple celiacs in my family, a 100% gluten free menu — apps, dinner, and dessert). They went way above and beyond - recommending other vendors, helping us with design questions, to executing on even our craziest requests (e.g. tacos and frozen margaritas, and somehow made it classy?). Everything was plated beautifully, the day-of staff were amazing, and all of the little details came together perfectly. Our guests are still talking about the food! A sincere thank you to all at Forklift for making all of our catering dreams come true :)

  Perfect for any wedding

  We hired Forklift Catering for our wedding, and boy was that a great decision. Deborah was so responsive, helpful, and professional throughout the whole process of creating a menu to delivery on the wedding day. The food turned out to be delicious (unsurprising given their reputation) and was a hit with all the guests. Forklift was also very accommodating and had a lot of options for gluten-free and vegetarian appetizers, entrees, sides, and desserts. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a caterer for a special event.

  Delicious and creative food, wonderful people

  Forklift catered my belated wedding reception this year. We originally planned a traditional big wedding and reception in April 2020 which of course didn’t happen. Despite the disappointment we experienced during that time, our contact Deborah at forklift was so on top of communication, so kind and helped us change our plans (more than once) with minimal stress. They were so flexible and professional. On top of that, the FOOD is incredible. The biggest thing we were willing to splurge on for our wedding, was having delicious food and drinks for our guests. Also, my husband and I come from opposite areas of the world and wanted to represent both of those cultures cuisines. Forklift delivered above and beyond, they were so creative in the menu they came up with for us and most importantly, when it actually came to tasting their food it was delicious. Their chefs are really on top of the game, it was all at a different level than catered food I’ve had before. Although the catering was a big chunk of our budget and we chose to splurge in that , I want to point out that the price was not much different than some other places we looked at that offered a lot less and were less impressive. So I would absolutely recommend forklift to anyone for their wedding.

  Absolutely incredible

  I am so happy we selected forklift. Every touch point was amazing. Kristen helped us with everything from linen selection and layout to building a menu reflected our favorite flavor combinations that our guests are still texting me about!!! I had so many friends and family come up to me during the wedding to say how great the food is! We had some specific requirements and I couldn’t have imagined anyone else doing a better job than Forklift did. HIGHLY recommend - you absolutely will not regret!

  Perfect experience with Forklift!

  Picking Forklift was the best decision of my wedding! I have so many good things to say!
  
  Food: I’d describe us as foodies/farmers market junkies who are generally underwhelmed by wedding food, and Forklift absolutely exceeded our expectations. They gave us amazing suggestions that matched our tastes, including lots of vegetarian options since we don’t eat a ton of meat. You can tell how dedicated they are to creating a menu that the couple will love, rather than just giving you a list of their standard options and asking you to pick from the list. At one point early on in our menu selection, I asked if one of the entree sides could be prepared without raisins, since my husband doesn’t like dried fruit. Kristen said that the raisins added something important to the dish, but she suggested several other sides that would complement the entrees we’d chosen but would be dried fruit-free. We ended up going with brown butter gnocchi and roasted broccolini - delicious! I can’t count how many guests commented on how great all the food was, and I certainly agree.
  
  Service: Forklift really shines with attention to details that were beyond my wildest expectation. They think everything through so carefully. I mentioned that my father had asked if we could have a bottle of port at the bar for people who wanted an after dinner drink, and during the wedding, the manager made a point of bringing my father a glass so he didn’t miss out. He was so touched!
  
  Knowledge: Kristen was my wedding MVP. She was happy to give me advice on everything - even details that were at best tangentially related to the catering. She also knew our venue (the Charles River Museum) so well that I didn’t have to spend energy worrying about those little things that could drive you crazy. She knew where to put the bar to avoid a traffic jam of guests at the start of the cocktail hour, she knew what size dance floor we should have with our guest count to give us enough room without making it feel empty, and she knew about a million other helpful details.
  
  Flexibility: Forklift was so incredibly easy to work with. They were easily able to accommodate all our guests’ allergies and dietary requests (dairy allergy, kosher meal, gluten-free, etc.) When I was still debating between a few choices for table linens and china, Kristen reserved all the options I was still considering until I had a chance to make up my mind (several months later). When my parents suddenly decided 4 or 5 days before our wedding that we absolutely must serve coffee with dessert, Kristen added the coffee station, and all the necessary accessories, no problem.
  
  Finally, a pro tip: The unsolicited wedding advice I got most often was to make sure to eat on my wedding day, because the bride and groom are often so busy talking to guests that they don’t have time. One person suggested we order room service from our hotel in advance so we could have food waiting for us when we got back to the hotel and were inevitably starving. First of all, I WAS able to eat at my wedding, because Forklift dedicated a member of the staff to making sure my husband and I had food and drinks whenever we needed something. Second of all, I’d picked this caterer and menu I was psyched about, and I sure as hell wasn’t going to eat a crappy hotel room service meal on my wedding day. I asked Kristen if they could pack us a to-go box of food, and it was one of my better wedding decisions - we got 2 sets of appetizers, 2 sets of dessert, and even the leftover entrees from the guests who cancelled at the last minute. So basically, we got to enjoy our wedding meal 2 days in a row!

  My daughter was married in early May. As mother of the bride, my self-designated role seemed to be worrier in chief. There seemed to be nothing too big or small for me to stress over. Kristen and Forklift were wonderful. They helped us through the process with utter confidence and skill and a reassuring manner that relaxed us completely. They knew the venue perfectly and advised us on how to set up stations and work the cocktail hour to ease the flow of guests. They helped us decide on table settings and decor, to accommodate our different groupings. They managed special dietary orders and requests of guests and wedding party with perfect aplomb. The servers and wait staff were professional and personable. And, the food - hors doerves and main courses - was out of this world.
  
  Kiristen and the Forklift team were major contributors in making our special day a complete success. I could not recommend them more highly.

  Forklift was one of the earliest and best choices we made for our wedding. We were looking for a sustainable option for a vegan-ish meal (vegan + fish with some straight vegetarian options thrown in). Forklift’s local, seasonal offerings fit the bill perfectly and were absolutely scrumptious.
  
  Deborah was a delight to work with and a huge help in all stages of the planning process, giving us recommendations for other vendors, choosing rentals, and making a rain plan (which was nearly necessary and we would have been perfectly prepared for!). Day of, everything came together beautifully and our guests have been raving about the food since.
  
  I also feel compelled to mention that they used local edible flowers to decorate their hors d'oeuvres serving platters, which I found so distinctive and characteristic of their creativity and attention to detail. Really cannot recommend them highly enough.

  I was married in December and I still think about our food. It's really THAT good. Finding a vendor who focused on locally sourced and sustainable ingredients was a priority us and when we found Kristen at Forklift I felt like I have found my foodie soulmate! She immediately sent us a proposal for everything our little hearts could dream of including a raw bar with loyal oysters (this was *my* non-negotiable), a sustainable and delicious seafood option in the dead of winter, and the most delicious short ribs I have ever eaten in my life. We really wanted the focus of our reception to be on the food and Kristen, Chef, and team made it a meal that people are still talking about three months later. Deciding on the menu was simultaneously a breeze because the Forklift team was so attentive to our likes and dislikes and incredibly difficult because the options were so plentiful! To me the highlight of how accommodating they are was our cake -- we really wanted a cake made of cheese wheels and Kristen worked tirelessly to make it happen for us (and to keep it in our budget). It was beautiful but right before the reception my stomach dropped -- we had A LOT of vegan guests, what would they do?! Forklift was already one step ahead of us and anyone who had designated that they were a vegan got something else! I was so impressed at how thoughtful they were. (They were also great with our gluten free guests and dealt seamlessly with the handful of noshows who cancelled at the last minute.) Kristen Campbell is a dream and I feel extremely lucky to have had her by my side while we were planning. I spent the most time of any of our vendors communicating with her and I genuinely missed her when it was over! It was like hanging out with a gal pal! I cannot recommend Forklift enough. We can't wait to work with them again!

We really wanted the focus of our reception to be on the food and Kristen, Chef, and team made it a meal that people are still talking about three months later. Deciding on the menu was simultaneously a breeze because the Forklift team was so attentive to our likes and dislikes and incredibly difficult because the options were so plentiful! To me the highlight of how accommodating they are was our cake -- we really wanted a cake made of cheese wheels and Kristen worked tirelessly to make it happen for us (and to keep it in our budget). It was beautiful but right before the reception my stomach dropped -- we had A LOT of vegan guests, what would they do?! Forklift was already one step ahead of us and anyone who had designated that they were a vegan got something else! I was so impressed at how thoughtful they were. (They were also great with our gluten free guests and dealt seamlessly with the handful of noshows who cancelled at the last minute.) Kristen Campbell is a dream and I feel extremely lucky to have had her by my side while we were planning. I spent the most time of any of our vendors communicating with her and I genuinely missed her when it was over! It was like hanging out with a gal pal! I cannot recommend Forklift enough. We can't wait to work with them again!

  This was a wedding for my son and his awesome wife that was held at our home. The food was hands down the best wedding food I have ever had, and the staff and management were a delight to work with. Kristen basically did the job of not only the menu coordinator and catering manager, but served as a de facto wedding planner, helping us figure out every detail of the wedding, from where people would sit during the ceremony, dance, eat, etc. I would use them again whenever possible!!

  Yes, book them. The food will be as beautiful as it is tasty. We worked closely with Deborah and Dennis to see out our vision. They allowed our very selective taste and our need to change our minds until our vision was met. Guests still bring up how wonderful the food.   Forklift was an absolute pleasure to work with and the food and service at our wedding were phenomenal. We were very picky about having really good food at our wedding and Kristen and her team delivered! We received a number of glowing compliments from our guests on the food--many people told us it was the best wedding food they had ever had. Highly recommended!!

  Yum, Yum, Yum......Not only are these guys real nice and super professional but the food is to die for. Everyone at the wedding raved about the food, so many compliments. I only wish I wasn't so preoccupied that I could have actually sat down and enjoyed eating more of it!!!

  Wonderful!

  Kristen with Forklift did a wonderful job with our wedding. The food was delicious and the drinks were great, but the thing that stood out most was how friendly and excellent all of the bartenders and other staff were that joined us. She was communicative and had wonderful attention to detail throughout the planning process, and we received many comments on how great the food and drinks were from a variety of guests.

  Kristen with Forklift did a wonderful job with our wedding. The food was delicious and the drinks were great, but the thing that stood out most was how friendly and excellent all of the bartenders and other staff were that joined us.   Can we give six stars? or seven? Wow. I hardly know where to begin. We found Forklift late in the game, gave them a nearly impossible assignment, then enjoyed mountains of mouth-wateringly delicious food kept hot, displayed beautifully, served professionally. This team is amazing!!!
  Here is the background: wedding reception for close to 200, about half are starving grad students, held in a non-traditional venue not set up for outside catering. We gave Forklift a hall crammed with tables, DJ, dance floor and a “toy kitchen” – a large workroom with a tiny sink, a small refrigerator and even smaller stove. Oh – and throw in a few special considerations: Kosher, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free. I still don’t know how they pulled it off, but here are the comments we heard from our guests:
  “That was the best wedding food I’ve ever had.”
  “Soup! It was the perfect thing coming in from the cold!”
  “I loved the roast vegetables”
  “I LOVED that pizza! I had THREE PIECES!”
  "the apple crisp was awesome!"
  “That was the best salmon I’ve ever had”, this came from an international traveler who has eaten in many fine restaurants around the world!
  
  Two more comments – I did mention that half the guests were Starving Students. That means they piled their dinner plates high with delicious food, taking more than might be customary at a wedding reception. I’m not sure who the Magician is at Forklift, but somehow he calculated quantities so there was enough food for all.

  AMAZING! Dennis and Jamie are amazing! I was married in October 2013 and working with Jamie and Dennis were incredible to work with. Please read this as I still think about them in 2016.   Forklift did a great job with our event. The pre-event planning process was easy and Dennis was always available and helpful in answering our questions. The food was delicious! Event set-up and take down went without a hitch. Highly recommend Forklift catering.

The day of, we didn’t have to worry about a thing when it came to the food and it was SO DELICIOUS. The guests all loved it too. The best thing is that they made us a little plate of the pass hors d'oeuvres just for my now husband and I so we were sure to enjoy what we had paid for!
