Forest Highlands Golf Club Reviews

I cannot say enough good things about this venue and Karen, the wedding coordinator for Forest Highlands!! We wanted a winter wedding in March 2023, and boy did we get it. Flagstaff saw an unprecedented 5 ft of snow, and the Forest Highlands team went above and beyond to work to clear the insane amount of snow off of part of the green so we could have our dream outdoor wedding. And to top it off, it poured on and off all day the day of our wedding, and the team was so amazing to move things quickly, and helped laugh off the pouring rain at the end of our ceremony. Karen was so easy and amazing to work with, and she made planning a destination wedding such a breeze. If you were looking for a beautiful venue and easy wedding planning, this is the place. Everything was amazing. The staff, food and surroundings. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Karen Harting along with Macy were so easy to work with and made sure everything was perfect for my wife and I. This place is top notch! Thank you so much!

We had our wedding at Forest Highlands October 2018 and it was beautiful. The food was really good and everyone had a great time. They have plenty of parking for guests and several different ceremony and reception sites for different styles. Our ceremony was supposed to be completely outside and our reception was inside. It was pretty cold and they were very accommodating and were able to change the ceremony to be partially inside to make our guests more comfortable. Their food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. It had an upscale country club type of vibe while still having all the beautiful Flagstaff scenery. It was a really nice blend of rustic and elegant which is exactly what we were looking for. We don’t live in Arizona and when we only had a 1-2 day slot to do our tasting in July, they were able to squeeze us in even though they were having a large golf tournament. They were very accommodating through the whole planning process. Overall, we’re very happy we chose Forest Highlands and our guests had a great time.

So these other reviews are pretty old, and I think the Forest Highlands' events staff has completely changed since these were written. We just had our wedding last Saturday at the Forest Highlands Meadow Clubhouse, and everything went PERFECTLY. We got married on the event lawn, had cocktail hour on the patio, and had our reception inside the dining room. Karen, the venue coordinator, is incredibly responsive and helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a perfect day. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and professional. The waiters kept bringing plates of food over to me and my husband, making sure we got to eat! We had so many guests tell us that it was the coolest spot for a wedding. My parents also hosted a brunch the next day at the Canyon Clubhouse, and Karen and her team took all of the flowers and decor from the wedding and re-purposed them for decorations that morning without us even asking. It looked great! Getting married at FH was so fun and so special.

We had our wedding ceremony here 10/21/23. They were not the easiest to communicate with leading up to the wedding, but the day of went super well. I was lucky to have a wedding planner/coordinator so I didn’t have to worry too much about that. The bridal suite is very nice and large. The ceremony site was gorgeous and our pictures came out exactly how we envisioned them due to this! It helps that we had absolutely perfect weather, but even if we hadn’t I know it would have been beautiful.

This place is beautiful and I have to say that the food was wonderful. Chrissy (the coordinator) is good but we had so many bumps along the way that it was not worth the money. We tried to work with the venue and they made us feel like a bit of a number. Take your money and find somewhere else.

Location is beautiful, however it's almost not worth the stress involved. Communication was really rough, and they booked the contingency room that they said would be available in case of rain (it rained). Maybe I'm bitter, maybe my experience was really bad, but I wouldn't recommend Forest Highlands unless you feel up to dealing with extra stress.
