Melissa, our photographer and owner of For Keeps Photography was WONDERFUL to work with! She came recommended from our venue, Lindsay Lakes (NW Houston – Cypress, TX area) and we couldn’t be more pleased for the recommendation. Melissa was communicative and organized throughout our entire interactions, from our booking her through our wedding day. Most amazing photographer I’ve ever worked with

Melissa is absolutely amazing!!! I feel like it is rare today to find professionals with true heart and talent behind every inch of their work. Melissa was amazing to work with. Excellent and efficient

Our experience with Melissa was incredible, she was very good at calmly and proficiently organizing our wild crew, and capturing our special day in all of its glory. I can’t stop looking at the magical photos she took, as they always bring a smile to my face. She was amazingly personable and confident, and a hard worker. For our engagement pics she didn’t hesitate to tromp through mud to get to a more picturesque spot. 10/10 would recommend!

Wonderful photographer!

We hired Melissa for our engagement photos, Bridals, and wedding day. All we can say is wow! We had some issues with time on the day of our wedding and we lost a lot of picture time (due to another vendor - NOT Melissa). However, Melissa still captured amazing photos in a much shorter time frame than we planned and still got the shots we wanted. We are so happy with our final pictures, and that we decided to go with For Keeps Photography! She never disappoints!

Beautiful work!

Melissa was absolutely amazing!!! When I contacted Melissa, she let my then fiancé and I come over to view her work and have a consultation to discuss what we envisioned. She answered every question we had, and we knew within minutes she was who we wanted to work with. She shot our engagements, my bridals, and our wedding day. She was always easy to get in touch with, she would arrive early to every session, and would contact me a few days prior to confirm any last minute details. Our original wedding date was supposed to be in May 2020, but due to Covid-19 we rescheduled to October and she was more than happy to work with adjusting our plans. We cannot recommend Melissa enough and we cannot wait to use her for future family photos!

Just What We Were Looking For . . .

After a professional photographer cancelled on us the day before the wedding, we were at a loss. Thankfully, our family member jumped in to take wonderful moment shots throughout our wedding day. We are blessed! On top of that, we sought out Wedding Wire to help us find a reliable photographer to take our wedding formals even though our wedding had already taken place.
Our photographer was just what we were looking for! On the first day of our meeting each other, she was willing and excited to shoot our session. She arrived early, took us through the traditional poses, added some fun and quirky poses, and made us feel good about this experience overall!
I will be reaching out to her for more photo sessions in the future! I highly recommend her! We wouldn't have received wedding formal photos if I had not sought out photographers through Wedding Wire. We are so blessed and beyond thankful!

Amazing Photographer!

Melissa was incredible! Not only are her photos beautiful but she is so sweet and fun. We booked her before everything got crazy with Covid and she has been so easy to communicate with! We had to change our wedding date once and change bridal portraits date but she made everything easy. We also had a second shooter that was great as well. I can’t wait to get all our wedding photos back! I highly recommended ForKeepsPhotography for your wedding and any special moments!

Our special day

Melissa’s ability to be so calming proved to be so helpful for our special day! She did such an awesome job capturing exactly what we wanted and to not miss any aspect of the day. Absolutely wonderful!

Highly highly recommend!! I don’t think there are enough positive words to describe Melissa! We are so thankful that we found her last minute! She was very sweet and willing to work with our budget. She was quick to respond to emails- which is so nice for a stressed out bride! She did a fantastic job working with the bridal party, groomsmen and our families. She was so relaxed and easy-going throughout the whole day, which made the picture taking process quick, enjoyable and stress free! We received several compliments on her. She was an absolute joy to work with and her pictures are gorgeous! She captured so many beautiful moments that we will be able to cherish forever! She is amazing!

Melissa is an absolute angel and she was more than anything that we could've asked for. I had booked a bridal session with our wedding package, but my dress wasn't ready in time so she was flexible and let us take an engagement session instead. She was so attentive and knew great spots and poses for our wedding day. She seriously takes amazing photos and is a joy to work with. My husband is SO awkward... but with her, everything came so easily when she shot our photos. I will definitely use her in the future for other major events in my life!

Melissa is an outstanding photographer! I don't know how she did it but she captured all the moments we wanted and more. She was patient with me and all of my questions. Melissa is amazing. Planning around rain, other vendor meetings, and holidays to take bridal portraits was stressful, but she was very flexible and accommodating, and the portraits were amazing! Throughout our wedding planning, Melissa was extremely responsive to every email and text, even though I would sometimes take a week to respond on my end. She was open to all our ideas for wedding-day photos, and she and her assistant photographer captured every moment perfectly. Most importantly - the photos are absolutely beautiful. Thanks, ForKeeps!

Not only was Melissa reasonably priced for wedding photography, but she was AMAZING! She captured our wedding day exactly how I imagined it. She was so quick about responding and sending the photos to me that I never had to worry about that part of my wedding. She also did our engagement photos which turned out great! Melissa has done many weddings here at Shady Oaks over the last several years. She is so easy to work with. She doesn't "bark orders" at her clients as some photographers do. She is very thorough & very creative and I have never had one of our clients who we recommended her to complain about their pictures or her service! Her work is impeccable! Choosing the right photographer can definitely have an impact on how much you enjoy your day!! I've had brides brought to tears by some too pushy ones! I've also seen photographers who try to make the event all about the pictures, keeping the wedding party involved so long their entire schedule is ruined leaving them with lots of pictures of an event they didn't get to really enjoy!! Melissa is neither of these. She is mindful of the schedule, and is very efficient in getting the traditional photos, but then goes on to capture amazing candid shots while her clients are going about enjoying themselves! Memories they will treasure for years!!

I have taken my engagement, bridal, wedding and fall family photos with 4 keeps. My family is not one who likes to take pictures but Melissa always made everyone feel comfortable and enjoy having their pictures taken. Melissa creates beautiful angelic photos with excellent lighting! From the very first moment my mother and I met Melissa in her studio, we knew she was perfect for our big day! Her work is absolutely beautiful and meticulous--she really asks you what you want and she has a unique style with wonderful ideas. Her price for the service is an amazing value--I don't know how you could get a better photographer!

She was with me for my bridals as well as my wedding day, and she made me feel comfortable throughout the process with her ideas and poses. She know show to use light and flatter in her photos and capture moments. She was very responsive throughout the entire process and kept me in the loop. My bridal photos and wedding photos were given to me in about 2 weeks! :)

I can't say enough about how kind and talented Melissa is--look no further for your photographer!

I am the mother of the bride, but because my daughter and her fiancé work full time jobs, I did a lot of the hunting and phone calling for vendors and the venue. I came across 4keepsphotography/Melissa Higday after searching for vendors in The Woodlands area. Her reviews were all 5 stars and over and over, the reviewers said how great she is. That is why I called her. We made an appointment to meet her on a Sunday afternoon (so convenient) and signed a contract that day. She is calm and professional and showed us several albums of her work as well as framed photographs on the walls of her studio. Melissa was available for any questions along the planning stages and replied to phone calls or emails promptly. Her prices were extremely fair and the packages she offers are very generous. We were able to hire her for longer hours and include a second shooter. She showed up early the day of the wedding and stayed until the very end. Melissa and the second shooter were so quiet and professional, we hardly knew they were there. The pictures were beautiful and captured the feeling of the wedding. She takes all of the traditional poses that you would expect, but so many more with a humorous or artistic flair. Everything about working with Melissa and the final photos far exceeded our expectations! Melissa is the real deal. If you are lucky enough, she will photograph your wedding, too!

Melissa was very helpful and responsive before, during, and after the wedding. She was always prompt with returning calls. She arrives to the location early to scope out locations for pictures. She was very prompt with sending the photos on a flash drive, and did an excellent job with posing and taking many great pictures from multiple angles. She is a great deal and is also a very nice, hardworking person.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to have Melissa capture our wedding, and we were thrilled with the results! We planned a small wedding on a fairly short time frame. Melissa was terrific about getting back with us quickly and working with us to structure a package that made sense for our wedding. She was GREAT to work with the day of- made sure we got all the shots we wanted, kept an eye on time, and made lots of great suggestions that turned out really well. We ended up with spectacular photos that were ready ahead of schedule for a very reasonable price. The pictures really feel like "us." Highly recommend!

Bob and I had our wedding in our home, and Melissa did a wonderful job of setting up the photos. She was able to get all of the specific pictures we had asked for,including a group photo which she took from our second floor balcony looking down on the backyard (there was a serious version and silly version). She did a wonderful shot of the flower girl with three of her cousins jumping in the air throwing petals. And there was a fun candid picture where we were posing on our staircase and the videographer was sneeking up behind us. Late that evening, she sent a preview picture of the two of us which we were able to pass around while we were waiting to get the rest of the pictures.

Melissa was a great photographer for our wedding. She was early, brought extra help and worked very well with out videographer. I felt like she captured the entire event but she wasn't almost in my face. The pictures turned out amazing and her turn around time was so quick. I highly recommend her for weddings.

Melissa photographed both our engagement shoot and our wedding ceremony and did a wonderful job on both! The pictures turned out great and she really worked with our identity as a couple. Melissa and her photography services were amazing! After searching and searching for a photographer, I found her about four months prior to our wedding. She was prompt and very easy to get ahold of. Before the wedding, we set up a time and went over all the details, and the whole wedding went very smoothly. She was patient with my family and all the extra pictures I wanted, but at the same time was very time concious so we didn't miss anything. Our wedding was in the evening, so I was kind of worried that it would impact the quality of the pictures, but they came out BEAUTIFULLY. Melissa really captures light well, is detail oriented, and has a great eye for beautiful pictures. I was highly satisfied with her service and can honestly say I would recommend her to anyone! She is very reasonably priced, and the quality is phenomenal.

Melissa was awesome! Our wedding was REALLY out of the way and she had no problems coming out. She always responded to any questions we might have had and really helped with timing. She had great suggestions for pictures, and geared the style perfectly for what we were looking for. Everyone at the reception was really impressed with her and gave lots of compliments about how nice she was and how she seemed to be in the right place at the right time to capture all of the special moments. Melissa was the perfect choice for our wedding! She did such a fabulous job capturing our personalities. She was professional, experienced, and extremely easy to work with. I had high expectations and she exceeded them. We LOVE the photos she took of our wedding and have received a ton of compliments from the people we've shared them with. Since the very first time I contacted Melissa to discuss her being my wedding photographer to the day of the wedding, Melissa has been very quick and prompt at returning any correspondence or phone calls. She made sure to contact me a week ahead of the wedding to iron out any details and make sure she knew exactly what I wanted and what kind of pictures I was looking for. She offered me the services of an assistant and both Alex and Melissa were so energetic and fun all night! Melissa's turnaround on pictures is lightning fast compared to what I read about a typical turnaround time from other photographers. I was incredibly pleased with Melissa's service and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking! She offers wedding photography at a great value!

We absolutely loved Melissa. She has been wonderful. We have worked with her before and from that experience we knew that our wedding day wouldn't be the same without her! When we decided to change details 1 week before our wedding she was so flexible to accommodate us! She was very creative with the shots she took and with a family that could be difficult about certain pictures she was the perfect mixture of assertive but never rude and our pictures turned out perfect! There is not one thing I would have changed with our wedding photography which to most brides, is the most important aspect to a wedding! She gave us a copy of every picture taken which is almost unheard of with wedding photographers! I can't wait to use 4keepsphotography again. Melissa you were such a blessing to us! Melissa with For Keeps Photography is a dream come true! She was helpful, knowledgeable, creative with her ideas but still listened and followed through with all of mine. She was very attentive to what we asked for and worth the money spent. She took amazing photos. The only thing is that I would've liked her to positioned us for photos better. I felt awkward a lot of the time because I didn't know if I was doing the rounds get things. I'm not naturally photogenic and I need help with where to put my hands and how to smile and tilt my head. Those kinds of things. Same thing with many of our family members. So some of the pics look strange because the people look awkward. She did an amazing job though and I highly recommend her. She by far made this wedding less stressful which means a lot.
