Fontana Village and Resort was my dream wedding venue. The Dam overlook sight was beautiful and the resort as a whole is a great way to turn your wedding into a fun weekend affair. Tabitha, the wedding coordinator, is awesome and so nice. I enjoyed working with her. She worked so hard to accommodate me in every way that I wanted to make it my dream wedding. The price really was not too bad considering everything we got with the experience.
My only complaint, which was not enough to detract a star, was I did not like the bartender that the venue provided AT ALL. She was rude as hell and severely lazy, like she would have rather been anywhere else but there. At one point, the water station ran out of water and when I asked her if it would be possible to get more, she gave me such a stank eye.
Overall, great value, beautiful venue, sweet wedding coordinator, and such a special experience.
Oh, and the reception food provided by the venue was PHENOMENAL. -

Fontana Village was the perfect venue for our vision for a beautiful fall NC wedding. We got married by the lake and the view were breathtaking. Tabitha and her staff were amazing to work with. She always answered all my questions, day or night. We loved that all our guests were able to stay on the property and there were so many activities for everyone to do. We were so happy with everything and love that we can come back for anniversaries and vacations. Can't recommend this place enough! -

Fontana Village was the perfect place to have our wedding! The planning process was made easy with multiple inclusive options including food, alcohol, decorations, and locations. The outdoor overlook and pavilion location was absolutely breathtaking for the ceremony. The staff members were very friendly and accommodating on the days leading up to the wedding and the actual day. We are looking forward to visiting Fontana Village in the years to come to celebrate our marriage and enjoy the mountains. -

Amazing experience
Fontana Village resort is a very unique place with many options depending on the size of your wedding. We had 25 guests total coming in from out of town, and they were able to accommodate everyone with lodging. We had 4 total meals set up through them, and they were fantastic -

Incredible setting for the price!
Fontana Village came up as one of the more affordable vendors which is exactly what I was looking for. From the beginning, Tabitha Henry answered all my minute questions. Even as the season got busier she and the staff took the time to listen to last-minute changes and questions. Additionally, the food is wonderful and there are many options. My guests loved it. There is no shortage of views and places to take incredible pictures which is something else that was really important to me. There were a few things the day of that could have gone smoother but throughout the day before and the day of, the staff was always flexible and kind, which was wonderful because I was super stressed. Highly recommend Fontana if you're looking for a venue that is beautiful, has good food, and has a kind and flexible staff for a low cost. -

The venue and staff at Fontana were more than we could have ever hoped for with our wedding weekend. We were supposed to get married in April 2020 right when Covid hit and our entire state was put on lockdown. We were so disappointed, because everything had already been planned and paid for, but knew we had to make other plans. Tabitha Henry (wedding coordinator at Fontana) jumped in immediately and helped us change our date to the following year and stayed in contact with us as much as she was able during Covid. We came back the next year for a vow renewal and could not have been more pleased. They allowed us multiple visits and taste testings and so much more. We fell in love with the quietness of Fontana from our first visit and we still visit as much as possible. It is very rustic (especially the accommodations), but the staff were 5 star. We received so many compliments from our guests on the food and service for the entire time we were there. We had multiple people who had difficulties walking and Fontana went above and beyond to make everything accessible to them. We were so pleased with the entire process and actually thankful Covid messed up original plans so we could spend another year visiting our new family in Fontana. We highly recommend Fontana and their staff for any events. -

My husband and I got married here a few months ago and we are STILL in disbelief of how magical our wedding weekend was at Fontana Village; we could not have ever imagined how perfect it turned out!
We are very focused on our friends and family, and a main goal of ours for our wedding was to make it an entire weekend experience as opposed to a 4 hour reception. Our vision was to find a place where our guests were on site for the whole weekend, but had enough attractions/activities available for everyone to enjoy their time on their own as well; to be able to have a vacation! Fontana Village absolutely accomplished that 10 fold. There are plenty of outdoor activities, pools, putt-putt/games, hiking, the marina, the gorgeous mountains, and not to mention the DELICIOUS food. Our guests are still raving about how incredible their time was; many of which are already planning their trip back!
Every single staff member we encountered was so incredibly accommodating, helpful and friendly throughout the entire property. Tabitha Henry is the absolute best!! We started this process before Covid, and while things were a little uncertain there for a little bit, she contacted me as soon as everything was back in action and took care of every single little detail we asked for. I know I sent Tabitha a million emails going back and forth on things and had a lot of moving pieces to figure out when trying to plan for the entire weekend, but Tabitha was always so helpful, patient and accommodating. Anytime something changed or was added she had down in her notes, and she had everything we talked about set throughout the whole weekend; not a detail missing! Everyone was so relaxed, and anything we asked for they did their best to accommodate and make it work. We had a lot of time in the venue to set up, and the Bridal Suite is beautiful! We were even able to get a tray of sandwiches brought in for lunch while we got ready, which was well needed. John was also amazing! He was our point person for set-up and was incredibly helpful. Also, Jonathan and Robert in the Bear’s Den Lounge and the Wildwoods Grille were the best throughout the weekend before and after the wedding!
We were planning on having the Rehearsal Dinner outside, and then a Welcome Party at one of the firepits for our guests that came in on Friday after the Rehearsal Dinner. It absolutely poured all day, and Tabitha and her team wasted no time rearranging and figuring out a plan B for both the Rehearsal Dinner and the Afterparty; both of which turned out great despite the torrential downpour!
The one thing to be mindful of is that there really is no service whatsoever, so just prepare in advance. That was a challenge as people were getting into town (only because we didn’t prepare for it!), but after everyone was on-site, it honestly created such a special, intimate, secluded atmosphere for all of us throughout the weekend! It ended up being a great escape and provided the unique experience to unplug, to use a landline, and to walk to a friend's cabin instead of picking up a phone and texting; to truly be present and in community with those you love and care about the most, and I wouldn’t trade that for the world.
Words can't express how thankful we are that we found Fontana Village. It went above and beyond what we could have expected, and truly made the most perfect wedding we will treasure forever. -

Beautiful location! Tabitha is there to help you with any thing you need her to do during planning and the day of! I loved that my entire family was able to come stay and we just made the whole weekend a big wedding gathering! Everything was super easy, nice, food was great, and beautiful. The bridal suite was perfect and so beautiful! I could not imagine a more perfect place to get married -

Beautiful and Serene spot.
Fontana Village Resort is a beautiful spot for a wedding. Our ceremony was at the Fontana Pavillion which makes for beautiful photos overlooking the lake. The reception was in the main lodge in the Carolina Room and the food was delicious! Tabitha, the event coordinator, was flexible and great to work with. The reception service and staff were amazing!

Easy, Accommodating...Amazing!!!
I grew up in the area and knew about this hidden gem of a venue, but had NO IDEA they would be as amazing as they were. Tabitha, the event coordinator for the resort, went above and beyond to make sure that everything we needed was there and easily accessible. It is great because dining, lodging and all wedding activities can be done right there on one property! -

Best venue ever!
My husband and I got married here in May of 2021, and could not have been happier with our experience! Tabitha went above and beyond the entire time, and made the process so stress free! Tammy worked with Tabitha to set up the ceremony and reception site and they did it exactly how I wanted it. All I had to do was give them pictures of what I wanted and they brought it to life. Not to mention, they completely disassembled and cleaned everything for me so that I could focus on spending time with my new husband and our families. Also, to this day I still can’t believe how affordable our fairytale was! I 100% would recommend this venue to everyone! -

Incredible!
We had no intention on having a big wedding let alone one 6 hours from home, but talking with Tabitha, she helped make the idea very attainable. Tabitha was great at answering all of our questions and providing us with everything we needed. Being so far away from the venue seemed like it might be stressful but everything worked out better than expected and didn't cost nearly as much as we thought it might. The venue was gorgeous and the resort, even with minimal cell service and wifi, was an absolute hit with all our guests. -

We chose this venue because of the views are absolutely amazing. Tabitha was so helpful and answered all million of my questions and always made herself available. John was our day of coordinator and was so helpful changing our ceremony site last minute due to rain, and ensuring our unexpected guest still got dinner. We chose the plated dinner and the food was amazing. The wait staff was very attentive. So many guests loved the rustic lodge feel of the venue and enjoyed the food. We can't wait to go back to celebrate our anniversary. -

Wedding Venue September 2019
We were so lucky to stumble upon Fontana Village Resort for our wedding venue. Tabitha Henry is their wedding coordinator and she is such a delight to work with! We planned our wedding from about 6 hours away and she took the stress of it all away. She is one of the nicest people we met and she helped create the best day for us! Fontana Village is a beautiful resort and we had such a memorable weekend with all of our friends and family in one place. This is what made our wedding weekend so much fun. We had all of our loved ones within walking distance of each other! This was the perfect mountain weekend and all of our friends and family had such a great time. Every bride says "expect at least one thing to go wrong on your wedding day", but Tabitha honestly made the day flawless. The food was so delicious, the views were perfect, and we will cherish our wedding day forever. You will seriously enjoy every second of your wedding if you choose Fontana Village! -

Tabatha was very professional and informational from the beginning. We set a date to come tour the venue but had to reschedule but she was very flexible and worked with us. I fell in love with the venue and its location immediately. So many options available for wedding ceremony and reception sites. With everything being customized to suit your needs, I can't wait to get married at Fontana Village Resort. -

Fall wedding
The wedding planner at Fontana is incredible to work with. Very nice, professional, quick to respond. We got married the last weekend of October and had about 100+ people staying for the weekend. The food and beverage and catering directors did everything they could to satisfy us.
The ceremony site is absolutely gorgeous. It overlooks Fontana lake and the view can not be beat.
Compared to other venues offering the same services in the smoky mountain/ Asheville area, Fontana was by far more affordable. The cabins are older, so is the event hall, but they were exactly what we needed for the weekend. -

Can Not Wait!
Tabitha Henry is amazing. We were running really late but she was still able to see us and show us around. Beautiful views and perfect setting for a wedding. Catering is done by the Fontana Village Resort and is reasonably priced. Can't wait until we get married there!! -

he wedding coordinator, Tabitha Henry, and the staff at Fontana we’re amazing during my whole wedding process. She gave me so much peace of mind. The staff set all the chairs up for my ceremony and reception, and had all the food ready to go when we got to the reception. Tabitha was amazing from beginning to end and so so helpful. She is great about answering any questions and replied quickly via email when I had a question. I would recommend Fontana Village Resort to all my family and friends looking for somewhere to have a wedding with amazing views in the mountains! -

Tabitha and her staff were amazing! Everyone was so friendly and willing to assist. We were married in September at the Dam! It was perfect. We chose the Carolina room to host our reception and the food was amazing! We used a DJ Tabitha suggested and we could not have been happier. I would highly recommend Fontana to host your wedding. -

Erica Sent on 06/13/2018We just got married at Fontana and did a 5 night stay there with our family and friends. The resort is rustic but comfortable, woth hiking, pontoons, lazy river, golf carts and more for guests. We had rehearsal amd reception catered. The Tuscan/Italian was awesome for reception. We also had fried chicken and pulled pork for rehearsal, it was ok but not as good as the chicken parmesan! I also had 3 vegan guess who enjoyed their personal meal options. Tabitha is wonderful, their caterer , Kristi, I believe is her name is so kind/attentive as well. We aren't from the area but used gig masters to find more economical dj (DJ Mike) and used Sally white (amazing flowers and cakes on FB) for flowers/cake and were thrilled! We appreciated their vendors list (loved and used Miranda Moody Buchanan for photographer) and easy communication. We even almost changed reception locations last minute and they were totally fine with it! The weather was great while we were there and it was an amazing weekend/day!

Autumn Sent on 11/01/2017One of the best decisions we made regarding our wedding was choosing to celebrate at Fontana Village Resort! It was the perfect Smoky Mountain vacation for us and our guests and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. The food was amazing and everyone loved the beautiful scenery. Some of the rooms and cabins could be updated, but honestly it wasn’t one of my priorities so I didn’t mind. We loved having everything there in one spot, and guests commented on just how much there was to do there. It really does cater to a group of guests looking for a beautiful Smoky Mountain getaway! We couldn’t be happier with our decision to celebrate the happiest day of our lives at this venue! Highly recommend.

I planned our wedding from out of state, and Tabitha, the wedding coordinator, was amazing to work with. The whole staff was very easy-going and helpful -- for one example, since there was no other event my wedding weekend, we were given access to the hall to start decorating a full two days early. The dam was a beautiful spot for the ceremony, and the food at both restaurants and the reception was shockingly good. All our guests loved having a mini-vacation at the Village, especially families with kids. We're already excited about spending anniversaries there in the future! -

I could not have been happier with my wedding at Fontana Dam. Two years later, our guests still talk about how amazing it was. All of our guests were to be able to stay on the property, and walk to and from their cabins to the rehearsal dinner and reception. The reception hall is quite big, and has a large fireplace. We kept decorations simple to keep cost down, and just let the beauty of Fontana Dam speak for itself. If I could point to one downside, it's that the venue is located in a small town, so you are a little limited on vendors, and you have to go through Fontana Dam for catering and alcohol. However, the catering was very reasonably priced, and quite delicious. We got a lot of compliments from guests on the food. Things went remarkably smooth overall, but when small problems did arise, Tabitha and the venue were very helpful and responsive. The best part is this venue was roughly half the cost of similar venues we were looking at. I would highly recommend Fontana Dam for any couple looking for a rustic/woodsy wedding in a beautiful location. -

Emily Sent on 09/08/2014We have been coming to Fontana for years for other events and when we were planning our wedding it was the first place that came to mind. The staff was extremely helpful and helped us plan an amazing reception. Even though our ceremony was not in Fontana Village, it was at Fontana Dam, just a few miles away and they were able to provide chairs and give advice on the ceremony location. This was a destination wedding for us and all of our guests were from out of town, Fontana was able to provide lodge rooms and cabins for all of our guests. They were extremely flexible with all of our requests for the reception and other events we had planned for the weekend. We will continue to vacation here for years to come! The only negative with Fontana is the cost of alcohol is slightly above average from other venues we researched but I believe that is only because of the remote location.
