We used Flip a Hit for our wedding weekend in August 2014 and were very satisfied. We distributed the cameras to our bridesmaids and groomsmen the Thursday before our Saturday wedding- it was great to capture memories from the activities before and after the wedding that a videographer wouldn't normally capture, such as the various after-parties, salon visits, photo sessions, rehearsal, Sunday brunch, family pizza party, etc. During the speeches, a bridesmaid used one camera to capture each speaker while another guest used a second camera to capture our reactions!

I was happy with the highlight reel, which was a professionally edited 3-minute clip made from the footage we captured and set to our wedding song. To me, however, the highlight reel was icing on the cake- what I really wanted this for was to have the raw footage & pictures that our friends took during my wedding weekend. (I know that Flip a Hit will return the raw footage to me, but I made sure to copy the data to my PC before sending the cameras back to them so that I wouldn't have to wait to see it.)

I notice from other reviews that there have been issues with responsiveness and delivery timing in the past. Flip a Hit must have taken action on this feedback and made improvements- they were very responsive to me, and they worked with me to make sure that the cameras were delivered before we checked into the hotel several days before the wedding.

Overall, I recommend Flip a Hit as a cost-effective and fun way to get some very personal pictures and video from your wedding weekend.

We had a great experience beginning to end with our flip it video. Our guests all enjoyed being a part of our day and our video in the end made people cry who didn't even attend the wedding.. It was 100% worth it and I would recommend everyone have it to capture all the special moments from the special day

A very easy & fun vendor to work with. Very different from traditional videography, which is what we wanted. Cameras arrived on time and were very easy to use. Included tripod and other useful guides. We received our highlight reel 9 weeks after our wedding, which I thought was rather quick.

    Definitely a great vendor.

Amazing highlight reel, seeing as how it was shot by our guests. Cameras were easy to use. Vendor was easy to get a hold of. We had some creative input with the video. We received the raw footage. Great price.

Flip A Hit was an amazing service for my wedding. We could not afford a true "videographer" but I still wanted to capture everything on film. I think the cameras from Flip A Hit did a better job capturing the true wedding day than a videographer would have, because we got so much behind the scenes footage and funny/heartfelt moments that were candid and may not have happened in front of a videographer. The wedding video produced is lovely, and has been a great little memento of our day to share with family and friends. I hope to take the rest of the footage and edit it into a more comprehensive video myself, since so much of it is great stuff that I don't want to miss out on!

After my wedding, some of the chargers and tripod that came with the rental were misplaced and ended up with supplies for our photobooth, and so I was charged a fee for losing them. When I found them, I emailed Kristy and was issued a check for a full refund. Kristy was very communicative over the course of more than 6 months! She helped me with every step, and was very gracious and understanding of the loss of the equipment but open about the charges and refunds given.

I would not hesitate to recommend Flip A Hit to anyone planning a wedding who cannot afford a true videographer, or even in addition to one, since so much is captured that would otherwise be missing!!

I fell in love with this idea at a bridal expo and since I couldn't afford a pro videographer or a photobooth and wanted both, this was a great alternative. Videos from my guests point of view! I assigned one camera to one person who filmed the entire ceremony, special dances, cake cutting, etc. and the rest were passed around. The cards to put on the tables were really great and helpful. Ryan was very quick to answer emails and calls which was great. My only issues were that I didn't know the cameras had to be back the next day, which was when we left for our honeymoon so I sent them back late. I asked for two songs to be in the highlight reel (because I saw one of their sample videos that did that) but only had one song. Then after seeing all of the raw footage, there were a lot of better moments I would have loved to see in the highlight reel that were left out, such as the "dip" move we did during our first dance. It was in the raw footage 3 or 4 times with different cameras but somehow didn't make it to the highlight reel. I still love it though and would recommend it to anyone looking for different video options or have a tight budget. I would just suggest that you get very specific with what you want in the highlight reel and I'm sure Ryan and his team would make sure it happens. I don't believe that any wedding should go on without video so thank you Flip-a-hit for what you do!

We really liked the idea of flip a hit, and once we got a groupon for them we tried to give them a call to book. That was a headache. We called the number on the groupon 3-4 times, over a couple of weeks and no one ever called us back. I finally found them on facebook and messaged them (pretty aggravated), and finally got a response. That wasn't a great way to start with them, and is def. why I'm rating them a little low.

We got the cameras extremely close to the wedding (the day before) and I wasn't thrilled about that either. I could have sworn they said we were going to get them 5 days prior, but that didn't happen, so perhaps I am wrong about the 5 day thing. I did email them asking for a tracking number 2 days before the wedding because I was wondering where the cameras were, and never ever got a response. I was about to call them when my mom got them in the mail on Friday.

Also, we have to have them in the mail today (monday) to avoid fees. I wish they gave a few more days for you to get the cameras back. The wedding was Saturday, the post office isn't open on Sunday, and getting them back on Monday could be tough for some people. Luckily we didn't go straight on our honey moon so we can get them back today without a problem, but just having the extra time would be nice because we're busy returning tuxes, writing thank you notes, and have to make sure we get to the post office before 5pm to avoid fees.

The good things, if you can get a groupon for them, it's a great value. We got 5 cameras which were SUPER easy to use. We had someone tape the ceremony and put the rest of the cameras out for the reception and we saw a ton of people use them. Hopefully we get a good video from them.

This was a great alternative to a videographer that we couldn't afford. I'm looking forward to seeing what the highlight reel entails!

Originally we weren't going to have a videographer, but when we found out my grandma couldn't come, we decided to try Flip a Hit. I contacted them via email and asked if they would offer a discount, and I was pleasantly surprised when they promptly replied with a yes.

The night before the rehearsal, I suddenly realized the cameras had not arrived. I emailed my contact and asked what the status was. She said they were on their way and would arrive the next day — the day before the wedding. They came just as left for the rehearsal... which didn't leave us much time to make sure they were in working order. Luckily they were — but we had some problems with them during the event. The company says the cameras are "pocket sized" but they are actually much smaller. We gave one to my brother to wear during the ceremony and it fell down into his jacket pocket, so no video there. My dad was able to make a sort of shelf in his jacket pocket using safety pins (classy, huh?) but it still wiggled around, so not sure if that one turned out either. It was also a little difficult to tell whether they were recording or just turned on.

It took a month to get a link to our highlight reel. It turned out better than expected, though I found it jarring that it kept jumping around rather than going in chronological order. I also wish there were sound bites (eg, during ceremony & toasts)... hoping there is some in the raw footage. We were supposed to get a DVD with all the footage within 2 weeks. A month later, I emailed to find out what the holdup was, and the rep said they were extremely busy, but that our DVD would be mailed by the end of the week. It wasn't that big a deal, but it bugged me that they couldn't send out a quick update. Still haven't gotten it but we'll see...

Long story short – Flip a Hit is a good service, but not worth paying full price for. Don't expect videographer quality or an audio record of your vows, and prepare to do some waiting.
