Perfect DJ for our Wedding!!
Dave was the DJ for our wedding and he did an AMAZING job!! Our dance floor was full the entire night, he made sure to play all the songs we wanted. He was very thoughtful with everything he did and helped to give us the night of our dreams

Dave was wonderful at Jose and my wedding on April 11, 2026! He was an amazing DJ and MC throughout the entire night. He followed all of our song requests perfectly and definitely understood the vibe of the party, keeping the energy up all night long. He made our special day even more memorable, and it was so nice having him there to celebrate with us. The pricing was also amazing, and we absolutely loved the gobo! We highly recommend him!

Incredible DJ Experience
Dave was our DJ for our wedding and he was just absolutely amazing. It was the best decision we made to have him as our DJ. He made the entire night awesome, and made sure everything flowed smoothly. He played all the right songs to get everyone up and on the dance floor. He was very professional and consistently checked in with us to make sure we were doing good. He was very easy to work with and made it super fun for everyone. We can not recommend FiveStar Entertainment-Dave enough!

Five Star Entertainment provided the best experience for our wedding reception. We did not provide a big list of songs and asked Dave to read the crowd. We had a big crowd on the dance floor from the moment it opened and even past our scheduled end time. Leading up to the event, Dave was so responsive and great to work with. Highly recommend!

Dave was an excellent DJ. He listened to everything I wanted and was very responsive. I even asked him last minute to do a mash up song for the father/daughter dance and he did it on the fly and everyone loved it! Everyone was dancing, he made my wedding a hit! He went above and beyond with all our requests and even added some lighting to a couple of our backdrops that looked fantastic! I can’t even put into words how amazing Dave is! He feels the mood of the crowd and adjusts music accordingly. Very easy to talk to, super bubbly personality. Dave went out of his way to take some photo shots from the dj booth of me and my husband dancing, and they were priceless. He caters to his clients in every way. The gobo projection of our names and date was cast onto the dance floor and was absolutely gorgeous. The accent lights around the venue added that extra pop. Dave goes the extra mile to set the mood and get the party started! We thank you so so much for helping us to create the best memories on our wedding day!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DAVE!!!

The BEST Entertainment!
A DJ can make or break a wedding, so when my husband and I were going over our must haves for our wedding there was no budging when it came to hiring entertainment. Our wedding was in San Antonio but we heard and read great reviews on five star entertainment, we had to have them. Dave had no problem driving up to San Antonio for our special day. From the ceremony to 2 in the morning the entertainment was perfect. Our guest were on the dance floor the entire night! We had a train of people dancing and my husband was flying in the air. It was absolute blast. We can’t thank Dave enough for making our wedding a day to remember.

Our wedding was everything we wanted and more and thanks to our fabulous DJ Dave from Five Star Entertainment for making it that much better. Five Star Entertainment definitely surpasses its name if we could give ten stars we would. Dave was very helpful leading up to the wedding with all the questions we had and was always helpful in explaining everything. He did a great job in acknowledging all the special song requests we had and made sure he had all song and played them. We had a very special request just days before the wedding and Dave went out of his way to make sure we had that exact song on our big day. He was very involved with the crowd we had foam glow sticks and he was out on the dance floor make sure everyone get one. He read the crowd well and made sure everyone was dancing. Dave was very personable and upon meeting him it seemed as though he was apart of the family. I hope in the future to do business with him again and I will continue to recommend this company with everyone. Perfect attention to detail!!
Dave was so helpful with all of my questions and requests during the crazy wedding planning process! As the bride, I had 100 things going on and Dave had a very simple song request form I had to fill out and it turned out perfect. I requested very specific songs (he played songs on the exact second I wanted them to start) and Dave understood everything and made this part of the process so easy! We had over 100 people dancing all night! He also provided cold firework sparklers for our exit and they turned out amazing. Thank you, Dave!

Yariel was able to blend a selection of music for our diverse family and friends. From 6 grandchildren to family and friends ranging in ages in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s, the music was great - nice variety. We worked with him on music selections. He went above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly. He provided us with guidance and was extremely, customer-focused. Lastly, he gave us a surprise gift at the end of the night - a video of our private last dance!!! It was heartfelt ... words cannot express how grateful we are. We highly recommend him.

We hired Dave to do our 12/5/2020 wedding earlier that same year bc of his great reviews and he was a suggested vendor by our venue. He was always very responsive and informative about his services. His basic DJ/MC package was also very reasonably priced! At the wedding he played exactly what I asked and everyone told me they had a great time despite it being a smaller than expected wedding due to COVID. Dave was also very good at adjusting the timeline last minute because we were ahead of schedule and keeping the night going as planned. Would highly recommend him!

Awesome DJ!!!
Dave was an amazing part of our wedding! My husband and I had to postpone our wedding due to COVID-19 pandemic and Dave worked with us every step of the way. He was awesome during this crazy time! All of our guests complimented his skills! Dave is really good about judging when to mix to other genres to keep the party pumping or to slow it down for dancing. He a great MC as well when it comes to timeline events and getting everyone's attention! If you are looking for someone for your wedding, I would highly recommend Five Star Entertainment with Dave.

Great Job all the way Around
Five Star Entertainment provides DJ services for our big Alumni reunion. It is a mixed group with ages 30 ish to late 70’s. Mr.Avalos gets the crowd on the dance door and keeps them there. He checked with me prior to the event to make sure of the set up time, etc and arrived in plenty of time (as we hold the event at the Aransas Pass Civic Center - out of town.)

He has great energy and is easy to work with. He is professional and plays a great selection of music. My fiance and I had a difficult time with song selection, and Dave made suggestions/recommendations that fit our vision perfectly.

AMAZING Entertainment, truly made the wedding!
Dave was amazing from the beginning, he worked with our schedule easily and was very organized. We offered a few of our favorite genres and artists and the rest was all him feeling the crowd and the season of music selections. People I didn't expect to be dancing were on the dance floor and we all had a phenomenal time. The DJ was talked about for WEEKS after the wedding. Would highly recommend 5 Star Entertainment and hope to have another event in the future to book him again!

Dave, with Five Star Entertainment, was the DJ for our wedding in October of 2002, and we asked him to come back to DJ our big anniversary party 15 years later. As expected, he did an awesome job and made our celebration an extra special event. He contacted us in advance to find out what type of music and songs we wanted, and he arrived extra early to setup for great sound quality and fun lighting. Aside from just playing music, my nine year old daughter wanted to surprise me and my wife by singing a song to us at the anniversary party. After she asked him, dave not only found the karaoke version of the song for her, but he also displayed the lyrics on the screen so she didn't have to follow along on her phone. It not only added an extra special touch, but it opened it up for more of our friends and family to do more karaoke. Dave's ability to read and cater to his audience is great, just in case he needs to switch up the music. He was very open to requests, and all of our friends and family had a fantastic time. You can tell he enjoys what he is doing and it shows in his work. Thank you for another amazing night, Five Star Entertainment!

We met Dave at an open house at our venue and booked him right away. We weren't looking for someone to play the same music heard at every wedding, especially since our group is more of a cocktail party group and not big on dancing. He took a ridiculously long playlist I sent and downloaded a ton of the music I liked as well as let me create a song-by-song playlist to be played before the wedding began as it was exactly what I wanted to hear from my dressing room and was thrilled as I walked to my place to hear those songs. Every guest complimented the music and since like I said they are cocktail party people they all loved all it!!!
We also had specific music for a choreographed first dance and he also downloaded it and even recorded our dance which we are beyond thankful for because the videography video had a corrupt disc and we would of lost it otherwise. When I spoke with him about this he was speedy to respond and downloaded our dance and even put it on a thumb drive for us to get to the videographer to edit since he knew how much it meant to us. I'd highly recommend five star! If you want someone that goes out of their way to add excellent entertainment to contribute to making your wedding perfect as well as go out of their way after the event to make sure you have what you need to remember your special day, this is your dj!

Dave did a great job!! I was hesitant to book a DJ without meeting him (my husband and I live in Houston and our wedding was in Corpus Christi). We were able to do everything by phone/mail. Dave Avalos was helpful from the get go. He was professional and friendly. If ever I needed a question answered, he responded in a promptly manner. He called me with questions that were helpful in putting my wedding ceremony and reception together and it made everything flow easier. I never had to wait on him for answers which was extremely helpful since if planning your own wedding, you tend to go a little crazy! Being from San Antonio, I wasn't very familiar with DJs around the CC area, so I just went out on a limb and chose Mr. Avalos and I'm glad I did. I've known and followed this entertainer for over 20 years. His live music or DJ shows are unmatched in Texas. There is not one song that you can ask for that he will or cannot play. I remember an event at River Hills Country Club in Portland, TX where a 50 year old class reunion requested some song from back in the day 30's or something. He learned it in about 3 minutes, played it and made their day. Never seen this group Dave Avalos - Dave Salinas (Five Star Entertainment) not pull off an amazing show. Using anyone else is either foolish, or you are just being cheap, but definitely not going with the best. Five Star Entertainment - when the highest quality is your standard.

A good experience
Working with this DJ was pretty simple and easy. We filled out a form of what songs we wanted to play, what genres of music we wanted at the reception and any special requests. He has had fun props for us like blow up instruments and sunglasses. When guests were leaving and just a handful of people were left, he took some of our requests. He played Hannah Montana for my maid of honor and I. Overall a good experience and I would recommend.

He was amazing! From the first song to the last he had people on the dance floor. I can remember walking around my wedding thinking "I can't wait to get on the dance floor he's playing all the good songs!" I gave him a list of 15-20 songs that I absolutely wanted played and not only did he play them but he was like a human Pandora and played songs like them. Our wedding consisted of every genre of music ranging from Oldies to New hits, Country to Hip Hop and everything in between and there was a good mix of it all throughout the night. He is definitely great at reading the crowd. If you are looking for a DJ for an event, this WILL NOT be a let down!

Wonderful Wedding MC
Dave had such a fun personality and I’m so glad he was running the show at our wedding. It may take a couple days of phone tag to get ahold of him because he works late hours and I’d often call him in the morning and he’d call me back in the afternoon when I was busy with work but we would always catch each other eventually. He also may not read your 8-page document you send him way ahead of time (yes, I am a crazy type-A person and I sent him an 8-page document with with song selections and timeline a month or two ahead of time) but he read it in time and it was clearly fresh in his mind because everything went flawlessly. He was also very flexible: there was a change we made a couple days before and a few changes the day-of and he accommodated all of them so well. I would definitely recommend him!

Dave was great! I'm happy that I booked this company for my wedding. The price was fabulous compared to other companies in the area. He met every request I had and seemed happy to do so. He did a great job of playing music that my crowd responded well too.
