small wedding BIG party
Tom was great to work with, from the booking process until the day of the wedding. We had a few phone calls and 2 in person meetings prior to our wedding to go over all formalities, timeline, and music which helped us feel at ease. He gives you worksheets to fill out so you can plan for exactly the kind of evening you want. We had a 50 person micro-wedding and Tom transformed it into a big party. I wasn't sure how the dancing was going to turn out with such a small dance floor but not one person was sitting and all generations were dancing. He had an adaptable setup for our small space and this made things very flexible. Tom was a great MC getting the room excited for the evening and I felt confident that he was running the show and I could finally let loose. He played songs from our playlist and he also read the room and played a variety of other fun songs. No one left early. It was a blast! Highly recommend DJ Five-O.

Great dj for wedding

Amazing DJ and MC!
We highly recommend Five-O DJ Entertainment! Tom was easy and amazing to work with, handling all of our reception needs with a professional, yet fun and welcoming attitude. Our wedding was so lively and energetic that our guests never left the dancefloor!
He was very responsive during the whole planning process and we met to go over every detail of our reception. Their packet to outline each part of the reception that we completed beforehand was super helpful in that meeting. Everything was organized, but very easy to understand so we could spend the night not having to worry about anything! He also had experience working at our venue and with our photographer and videographer, which was an awesome plus.
My husband and I are pretty big nerds, so we wanted to include some specific song choices from video games (Final Fantasy, Sonic, Genshin, etc.), which Tom accommodated for right away. They went above and beyond to make sure that our vision and desires for the reception were realized, and we are so grateful for their services!
All of our guests complimented the various song choices and DJ'ing throughout the night, so we are extremely happy and delighted to have worked with him for our wedding. We all wished we had the venue longer so we could have been on the dancefloor more!

Best DJ Ever!
We had the best experience with Five-O DJ Entertainment! Tom was very responsive and professional throughout the whole process. We had two meetings before the wedding. One at the start of planning and the other a week before the wedding. He was very organized for both and had great charisma while walking us through the planning. I really appreciated that he has a worksheet you fill out with your music needs and song choices. I could not imagine a better DJ for our wedding and feel very blessed to have worked so smoothly with Tom!

Great Job!
DJ five-O brought the house down!!! He brought so much professionalism, energy, and confidence to the preparation and execution of the big day. He is a diamond in the rough. Tom had everything in hand performed a great job as MC. We had people comment on how smooth the wedding ceremony/reception went, and that was due in large part to Tom. He took care of everything and we just had to show up. Our day was perfect and we couldn’t have done it without dj five-O.

We really enjoyed our wedding day thanks to Tom! He played music that appealed to a wide range of tastes, so our guests were able to both mingle and bust out some moves on the dance floor that night. Tom was very professional and we felt calm and prepared through the entire planning process. He also coordinated our entrances and speeches, so everything went super smooth. I coordinated a wedding this past weekend which featured Tom as the DJ. I have to say he is officially the DJ I will recommend to every couple who asks. I knew from the start it was going to be a great experience based on his interactions with the couple. He was friendly, polite, and thorough and very clearly experienced. The day of the wedding, he showed up with plenty of time to set up and came equipped with some really cool equipment and lights. He had a great personality without being one of those DJs who tries too hard or makes it about himself. He was really great at picking up on the crowd's vibes and adjusting his playlist accordingly. He went above and beyond at every turn to really breathe life into the party. You can tell he loves what he does because of how engaged he is in his work at all times. A great experience overall.

Great DJ - Would Hire Again
Tom was a amazind Dj for my wedding. He was very organized and flexible. Our dinner started a little early than plan, and Tom made all the neccessary adjustments to make sure the evening went smoothy. In addition, he was a great DJ. The best part of our wedding!!
There aren’t enough good things to say about this DJ! We had booked him last minute for our micro wedding and nothing would have been the same that day without him! He kept the whole evening organized and kept us on time for each part of the night. He played all the songs we wanted plus some more that everyone loved! The guests loved him and he kept the party going! He was truly an asset to our special day and it would not have been the same without him. My husband and I recommend him over and over! Working with Tom was incredible! This was a destination wedding for us, and Tom was accommodating. He scheduled a call with us for an initial meeting, and met with us the week of to finalize everything.
What stood out to us was the packet of extensive questions he brought to our face-to-face meeting. He helped us understand the timeline of events, and asked questions around what songs and type of music to play or avoid.
The day of event went smoothly. Tom played all of the requested songs, kept us on track with our timeline of events, and was polite to everyone. Our guests (both young and old) enjoyed the music and even told us Tom did an amazing job.

Tom was simply AMAZING! Our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were at the same venue on 3/18/2023 and Tom provided services for all of them. They were so easy and really put our minds at ease during a crazy planning time. The reception was a BLAST!!! Hiring Tom was the best decision we made! Not only is he affordable but his personality and drive to go the extra mile to make sure your big day goes smoothly is more than what we could have ever hoped for. Tom is very personable, easy to work with and no request seemed to put him off. He was the most organized vendor I had, supplying us with a planning folder of excellent info and fill in sheets for the songs we wanted. My type A planning side was internally screaming for joy when he gave us that blue folder! Lol. His communication throughout is spot on, he’s always willing to help if needed. I highly recommend Five-O DJ Entertainment! Tom did an outstanding job during our wedding and came super prepared from our meetings with him leading up to it. He knew exactly how we wanted the night to go and had everybody on the dance floor from start to finish. Another great thing about Five-O is that Tom is your DJ from the start, so you know exactly who you are working with. Some of the other DJ companies we were looking into just assign you a random DJ as you get closer to your wedding. We were so thankful for how the night turned out and so glad we made the decision in picking Five-O DJ Entertainment.

Tom is a great DJ -- highly recommended
Tom was awesome to work with and he was always timely and respectful in all our communications. He is incredibly easy to get along with and is detail oriented -- we didn't have an official day-of coordinator or anything like that and I frankly don't think it's needed if you hire time. He made sure the trains ran on time, which was a huge relief for us!
He had great ideas and was well liked by all of our guests. He lets you tell him exactly what you want from his services and he delivers exactly what asked for. He was sociable and made the wedding fun and memorable, all at a very reasonable rate.

Amazing Experience!
Tom was an absolutely phenomenal DJ at our April 2022 wedding! Tom was very responsive and attentive throughout the planning process. Tom only reconfirmed our confidence in him as a DJ when we met for our planning meeting. He was enthusiastic about getting to participate in our big day and knowledgeable about music. Tom asked us specific questions about how we envisioned the music for the night and gave appreciated suggestions based on previous experiences. On the big day, Tom was great. The music was fantastic and the dance floor was full. Tom also did a great job of making sure that we were on schedule and that the different events throughout the night transitioned smoothly. You won't regret booking!
We are so happy that we booked Five-O DJ Entertainment. Tom was so easy to work with and responded to our inquiry very quickly. He was very organized and really helped us decide what we wanted for our music selection and for the timeline of the reception. He was quick to respond anytime we had questions or needed to make any changes. He was able to do everything we asked for both the ceremony and our reception. We got a lot of positive feedback from all of our guests regarding the music selection and entertainment. We wanted to make everyone feel welcome on the dance floor and have a good time, and Tom really made that happen. He played all of the music we wanted and had all of our guests cutting rugs. Tom took tons of pictures and videos of all the fun on the dance floor that wouldn't have been captured since our photographer was already gone. I can not say enough about Tom!! I read in other reviews about how organized he is, and that is honestly an understatement! He met and spoke with us several times throughout our planning and made sure we had exactly what we wanted at our party!! He stayed in constant contact with us, as well as the venue, to make sure the night ran smoothly. His experience shined throughout the evening, making sure everything was timed perfectly and we were where we needed to be when we needed to be there. I did not have to worry or stress about anything the night of our party, because Tom had everything handled. His music was timed perfectly, and he knows how to get everyone dancing and having a good time. We plan on using him again for our annual holiday party, and I would recommend him to anyone planning an event or party!!!

Tom was an amazing DJ who went above and beyond. We were completely lost on how a wedding and reception should be coordinated but Tom was there for us every step of the way. We did not have to worry about a thing. In fact, when the venue manager wanted to change up our plans, Tom was there to step in and make sure everything remained the way that we wanted it. Tom was also great at noticing the little details and played music that completely fit what we wanted without even having to request it. He had plenty of planning pages with helpful suggestions listed to help take off some of the stress of planning your big day! Not to mention his pricing was super affordable & made to fit into any event big or small on any budget. He even made sure to play my “must play” songs when he saw I was on the dance floor which was so incredibly thoughtful! Tom was amazing!
Tom did a great job at my wife and my wedding in August. He always kept people on the dance floor dancing all night. Kept checking up on us making sure things were going well and played a great selection of music. Easy to work with and reasonably priced for a Dj. We cannot recommend Tom enough!! He was SO incredibly thorough, detail-oriented, responsive, and professional. He helped us out the entire process, including answer many questions via email, and gave us a binder to organize the day at our first meeting. He was able to help through a couple timing issues on the fly on the day of (unrelated to him) and just all around was absolutely fantastic. Tom was by far the most organized, efficient, communicative and trustworthy vendor throughout our entire course of wedding planning! He is a true professional in every sense of the word.
We hired Tom before COVID and when it came time to postpone our wedding we decided to rebook based on his availability and that was the right move! From start to finish he checked in with us and even adapted to our venue change. His planning meetings were thorough and helped us paint the big picture when other vendors weren't able to do that for us. His experience reassures any worry or doubt surrounding your day and he even picks up the slack when he sees things aren't running as planned throughout the night. Danced The Night Away!!
Five-O DJ Entertainment was incredible!! We still can’t stop thinking about how fun the night was thanks to him!! So many of our guests complimented on what a great DJ he was and all the fun song choices he played. From the beginning of the wedding planning process, we knew we made a great choice! First off, Tom’s pricing is great. He is so helpful and organized along the entire process. He hands out detailed binders that help you plan out the entire wedding. Not to mention - he includes awesome song recommendations & tips for all the different parts of your wedding. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves at our reception because we knew Tom would handle all of the entertainment. He made the planning a breeze with helpful guides, tips, and popular songs lists. Every song we wanted to hear was played and he was flexible when one popped into our heads during the reception. There was no detail too small for Tom to handle. He was even willing to stay an hour later than we originally planned and we didn't ask until during the reception! Great job even though we hired him last minute
We hired Tom to deejay my in-laws' 50th Anniversary party. It was a last minute decision (one week before) as we hadn't originally planned to have dancing. Tom responded quickly to our initial online request; luckily he had availability on our date. He understood what we were looking for from a short conversation and a few emails. The best wedding dance floor ever
Tom was amazing to work with. He responded to all our questions in a timely matter and took time to understand exactly what we wanted. Tom at Five-O DJ did such a fantastic job DJing mine and my husband Tony's wedding on October 13th, 2018. We got married at Hoosier Grove Barn in Streamwood and Tom did everything in his power to make our day perfect and special. When I first contacted Tom he was more than willing to meet with us, go over small details, and get to know us. He gave us a packet to fill out which was so easy and convenient and allowed me and my husband time to plan and prepare. Tom was very quick to email and text us back whenever we had any questions or needed to make changes. We met with Tom one last time to go over the major details a week before the wedding. I was very impressed with how tentative he was to our wishes for the big day. Not only did Tom do a fantastic job, but the price is unbeatable for how good the service was. I will recommend this DJ to all of my friends and family and would 100% use Five-O DJ for any of my DJ needs in the future. If you want a DJ who is professional, affordable, and tentative than Five-O DJ is exactly what you are looking for!!

When Five-O DJ says "Professionalism with Personality" in the page bio, they are not joking! Tom DJ'd our wedding on 9/29/2018, and we are still getting messages from guests saying how awesome the music/dancing/atmosphere was.
Tom was extremely organized from the get-go, providing us not only with a timetable worksheet to organize the music for the evening, but also the emcee script.
We had a final meeting a few days before the wedding, where Tom answered all our questions, and even catered to a last minute request, easing my wife's nerves.
Day of the event:
Tom was there early to set up, and the equipment looked awesome with the white decorations. He sought out my wife and I for one last discussion before starting the event. Throughout the event it was clear that not only Tom's emcee skills are highly developed, but that he took the time to rehearse things like names and other pronunciations. We are Ukrainian Orthodox and Tom announced some of the cultural traditions for our wedding reception very well! Tom had everyone on their feet when the dance floor opened up! While listening to our music direction, we also gave Tom some liberties to play the music he thought would suit the dance floor the best which I highly recommend! I can not say enough how fantastic Tom was, and how many people were asking us where we found him!

What a great experience!
Tom was so easy to work with. He took charge and helped us navigate through the planning process, which with his help, was so easy! We were out of state, planning from across the country, and he was so great at quickly communicating back with me, and promptly responding to all my many questions! He is very affordable, and we thought we got way more than we paid for. What a value. During the wedding, he encouraged our guests to stay on the dance floor, and played all our special requests. Our favorite artists aren’t your typical wedding music, so we thought we wouldn’t be able to have them played. Tom did a great job of incorporating some of those artists’ songs in a way that didn’t interrupt the flow and liveliness of the reception. We got a ton of compliments on how fun our reception was! Tom was our DJ on 7/13/2018 for our wedding. Tom was EXCELLENT!!! He is extremely point on and from set up to break down knows exactly what he is doing. He worked very well with our photographer and videographer to coordinate all of our dances, bouquet toss/ garter toss and everything in between. He was on top of his game, was able to make last minute changes and accommodated all of our needs. We got many compliments from our guest how great he was! Tom did an AMAZING job getting all of our guest out on the dance floor the whole night. We highly recommend Tom for a DJ for any event you may be planning for.

Tom did my wedding over this past weekend and it was amazing! He had a difficult task of combining two different cultures (Chilean and American) and making both parties happy. Well, he did more than just that. We had several friends contact us stating it was one of the funnest weddings they had been to. Everyone was out on the dance floor all evening. He helped with last minute situations such as providing music to a slideshow and an impromptu duet sung by some of our guests. He was energetic and interactive! Our wedding would not have been the same without his services. I would recommend him over and over again. Thank you Tom!

Tom is PHENOMENAL! I don't have the words to express just how amazing he was. In our final meeting before the wedding, he learned that our daughter loved K-pop and he talked to her about it and promised to include the music at the wedding and when he did, she got so excited and while it took her a moment to get on the dance floor, when she did, she did the entire dance routine to the song. That cemented Tom for me as my future go to DJ for anything I hope to have in the future. Our guest loved the mix of music and his energy at our Sunday brunch wedding :) He took the most amazing photo of our ceremony that I had to have. Tom from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU! Five-O DJ was the best part of our wedding planning process and our wedding day in general! Tom was extremely professional in all ways, he made our planning process simple and easy (he has this amazing binder that you fill with all your wants/needs and when he goes over it with you, it literally answers every possible question you could have), and he was always available if we needed to reach him. There were so many things about the wedding that required intense planning down to the smallest details, but our DJ was not one of those. All we had to do was tell Tom about our vision for the day and a little about our guests... and he did everything else. On our wedding day, he made the reception flow seamlessly and effortlessly, as we included several "traditional" parts during our reception (ie: bridal party announcement, toasts, first dances, garter toss, bouquet toss). Even when there was a small change in the speech order (requested by the mother of the bride), Tom told us what was going on and asked if it was okay. He is so professional and attentive, even in the face of reception chaos, and his clients (YOU) absolutely come first. It was so easy to sit back and enjoy our reception because Tom was taking care of the hard parts! All we had to do was DANCE!! Tom played the perfect mix of songs for the wide age-range we had at our wedding, and he is awesome at reading the crowd and playing things to keep everyone dancing. Our guests, both old and young, all told us they loved the DJ! You can definitely tell that Tom has a passion for what he does, and he cares about making each event special for YOU. Trust us when we say we are so grateful we didn't go with any other DJ service out there... Five-O DJ was the BEST decision we made! Thank you Tom, you are phenomenal!!

Tom was an absolute wonder to work with! He was very quick to respond to us when we initially
contacted him and worked with us to find a convenient place to meet up. He was very accommodating
with our ‘eclectic’ music taste, and our desire to stick very close to it. He was very high energy and lively
both with announcements and getting our party hyped up. Although Tom only met with us a few times,
he was incredibly friendly and personable. He worked very well with our photographer, and our
coordinator at the venue. He was very fairly priced and worked with us to stick within our budget. We

After experiencing Five-O DJ Entertainment at my brother’s wedding and having had a wonderful time, my husband and I hired Tom for our wedding (ceremony and reception). We had a fantastic experience working with him. Tom was helpful right from the get go, he met with us, explained his services and his prices (which are incredibly reasonable). We were so early in our wedding planning that we didn’t have too much of the ceremony or reception ironed out yet, Tom was very knowledgeable about the whole wedding planning process and was able to help us establish the beginnings of a timeline. He was very organized and helped us to stay organized with a Five-O DJ binder. The binder contained information and sheets to fill out that helped us to select our music and not forget anything. Tom communicated very well with us, with our day of coordinator, and with any other vendor that he needed to speak with. At the reception, Tom kept everything moving along and made sure we were on track with our timeline. He was a lot of fun DJing the dancing portion of the evening, he played songs we requested as well as a selection of other popular songs in the genres that we like. His lights were high quality and the same went for his speakers and the rest of his equipment. We have no complaints and would highly recommend Tom and Five-O DJ Entertainment to anyone looking for a DJ for any event! Without a doubt worth all five stars!

Tom did an amazing job at my daughter /son in laws wedding (Ashley & Jason). He played a great genre of songs. We had an amazing time and the dance floor was never empty. He even played a polka that allowed me and my 79 year old father to take a spin on the floor. He was very on top of things in regard to who was making the next speech, making sure they were ready and making sure they had everything they needed. He kept it all flowing perfectly. Mirroring the many reviews on this site, Tom is a FANTASTIC DJ. He thoroughly worked with my wife and I to make our wedding special and unique to our tastes. Having recently attended another wedding in which the DJ's seemed to really believe the evening was about them and their prowess, it gave us an even greater appreciation for the selflessness that Tom brings to his craft. He was so on point in reading the energy our guests and kept everyone engaged while always continuing to use the music that we pre selected. We just can't sing his praises highly enough. Five-O DJ was phenomenal! Let us start off by describing what drew us to Tom and his DJ services. In our search for a DJ we encountered a lot of young DJs, that's not to say anything bad, but they hadn't put nearly as many years into the service like Tom has. He's been in the industry for decades. Secondly, this isn't his full-time gig, which was important to us, because it showed his commitment to the art. He isn't doing it to make money, he's doing it because he loves it. That was evident in his craft as he worked our wedding. We met with Tom several times before the big day, and he was so helpful. Provided us with lists and tips for selecting our music and when we were stuck or lost on ideas he provided us with a lot of helpful recommendations that helped us create our special day. Day of, Tom was great in reading the event- this includes understanding that extra time was needed for this and that and was super flexible and accommodating in helping the flow of things. Let's talk dance floor! My husband and I were on the dance floor almost the entire night and this is important because my husband is NOT a dancer- I can barely get him to dance if ever, and Tom had him out dancing the whole night! All of our guests raved about the music, and Tom's talent as MC. He kept the night lively, fun and pumping with good tunes up until the last song. We highly recommend Tom for anyone searching for a quality DJ. His talent alone is worth every penny and it's even better that he's affordable in comparison to a lot of DJs that haven't been in the industry as long as he has. He's a worthwhile investment and guaranteed to make your special day as fantastic and dance floor pumping as ours was! Thank you Tom!

We were so lucky to have found Tom to DJ at our wedding! He is very detailed, fun and professional and helped make our special day more enjoyable. Tom provided us with a workbook to help us plan not only the music but also the order of events at our reception from beginning to end. From cocktail hour through the grand entrance, dinner, dancing and the last dance the whole evening flowed seamlessly. His lighting setup complimented our wedding colors and highlighted the dance floor. The sound system was perfectly tuned to our hall, neither too loud nor too soft, perfect!

We LOOOOVED Tom! He did exactly what we asked. I threw a bunch of different styles of music at him including Greek songs to play and he did a great job. He kept people on the dance floor and kept them entertained. So many of our guests came to me after saying how amazing he was! Of course the night threw some curve balls so some of our "must play" songs didnt get played but, it happens. He kept music going that people clearly wanted to dance to. Not only that, I made him a playlist of songs that we liked for dinner and the songs from that playlist that he chose to play were so on point! I had so many guests singing and jamming out at the tables to the music selection. I would recommend him to anyone! He is so professional and so well organized.

Meet with him before you decide on a DJ. I think he will win you over. Tom did an awesome job with our wedding. Made it a very special day for us. He is very organized, detailed and professional. We met with him twice prior to the event. During the event he made sure we accomplished everything that we agreed to in advance. We could not have picked a better DJ if we had spent a decade looking! Tom was classy, fun, and knew how to work a crowd while still highlighting our style. Tom was extremely great to work with. He was very organized, fun, and kept our wedding guests entertained. He is a true professional at such an amzing price. He helped guide us through every step of the process and offered music selection choices. He was even able to accommodate our request for latin music, and was able to get additional songs for us. I would highly recommend him for any event that you want to have fun at, but especially a wedding. We are extremely glad we went with Tom as our DJ, and would use him again if we ever have another event in the future.
