Fabulous addition to our big day!

We are so thankful that we hired Peter- his vintage yellow taxi was a really fun addition to our wedding day at The Sanctuary on Roosevelt Island last month. He is thoughtful, communicative, and went above and beyond for my husband and I on our big day! He drove back to the venue after he dropped us off so that we could take sunset photos with the vintage taxi- they are some of my very favorite photos from the day. He was also so sweet to my little cousin, who is obsessed with cars- Peter was patient and answered every question that he asked him! If you’re looking for a stylish ride to be a whimsical addition to your NYC wedding, look no further than Peter!

Having film cars was a perfect addition to our classic NYC Wedding- they arrived promptly on time, transporting us from the Lotte NYC Palace to St. Ignatius church uptown, waited for us and drove us around to different locations with our photographer to take photos after the ceremony. They were easy to work with, a great driver, clean car and a great addition to our day. 10/10 would recommend Film cars to any event.

We booked a Checker Cab from FilmCars for our wedding day, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Peter was absolutely amazing — his detailed emails and thoughtful communication put our minds at ease from the very beginning, and he was a joy to work with.

Our driver for the day was Gil and he was absolutely phenomenal. Gil was kind, professional, and went above and beyond to make the experience feel truly special from start to finish.

The ride through the city in the vintage cab was pure magic — people smiled, waved, and it felt like a scene straight out of a classic New York movie. We visited iconic city locations with our photographer to capture timeless wedding photos, and despite a challenging route, Gil made everything smooth and stress-free.

Peter’s attention to detail and communication were excellent throughout, and the entire experience was seamless and joyful. We can’t recommend FilmCars highly enough — it added such a memorable, nostalgic touch to our day. Don’t hesitate to reach out to them — you won’t regret it!

Loved working with Peter at Film Cars!

Working with Peter was so lovely! He is such a kind person and has everything you might need on your wedding day in his car: photo supplies, signage, and more. Our vintage cab was driven by him and so special to have for our first look portraits and bridal and wedding party pictures, and our guests loved seeing it outside as they arrived at our wedding. Definitely recommend using film cars for the most beautiful NYC cars for your wedding and the sweetest staff!

A highlight of our day

If you're thinking of hiring Peter's checker cab, as an addition to your wedding day, we could not recommend it highly enough! Peter was a pleasure to work with; from his initial, carefully thought out emails, to his demeanor on the day, as well as the presentation of the cab, he clearly has a keen eye for detail. Peter was meticulous with his facts, as he drove, and chose the perfect spot in Washington Square Park for us to have pictures. We will look at Peter and his services fondly as one of the highlights of our big day!

The BEST experience out there

We had the most incredible experience with the 1968 taxi and the most exceptional Peter as our driver. It was unbelievable experience! The vintage taxi added such a unique and special touch to our wedding day, and Peter's service was outstanding. The charm and character of the car, coupled with Peter's professionalism and warm and kind nature, truly made our day unforgettable. We highly recommend this combination for anyone looking to add a touch of nostalgia and class to their special occasion. A week on and we still cannot stop thinking about what a truly remarkable human being Peter is. It almost brings tears to my eyes at the thought of not being able to have the opportunity to see him again. I can hand on my heart say that I doubt there is another service like this, not only in New York but in the world. Peter you are amazing!

An amazing ride for a bride!

In April 2023 we eloped from Australia to NYC. My fiancé decided to surprise me hiring an original NYC yellow cab. Peter Yannello owner of Film Cars.com was referred to us by our photographer Sascha Reinking. Peter was absolutely fantastic in his correspondence and our driver Larry was outstanding. Larry drove us all across NYC from the Beekman Hotel to Central Park for our ceremony and then down 5th Ave and over to LIC for photos on a very busy Friday in Spring. The cab saved us travel time and no sore feet for a bride in heels. We didn’t quite realise how famous this cab was (see Home Alone 2 and Lady Gaga in NYC) so it also drew lots of attention from the public which added to the magic, with people waving and shouting congratulations to us as we drove by or when we stopped for photos. We would recommend Peter in a heartbeat. The most special day that we will hold forever in our hearts. Thank you Peter. 💙

Made an unforgettable day even more wonderful

Spectacular experience! First the basics... perfectly on time, flexible, dependable, car was polished and stunning, Peter was extremely helpful and well prepared.

As best man, I could find no fault in the impeccable service and attention to every detail made by Peter and his vintage cab company. A giant thank-you to him and his team!

He helped with everything, finding locations for perfect pictures, helping in every aspect while never intruding on the needs of the newly married couple to have their moments of privacy. He was thoughtful, knowledgeable, and perfectly attentive. He was not watching the clock and was present in a way that enabled us all to enjoy my brother and his fiancée's big day.

I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone on their big day. Even his choice of music was excellent.

Finally, the cab experience itself was wonderful. Everyone on every street corner was taking pictures of the car, looking inside to see if celebrities were present. Nobody could resist, and faces lit up everywhere we traveled.

I unreservedly give it 5/5 stars. I will be looking for excuses and special occasions to hire them for another afternoon. Thank you.

Peter and his amazing cab made our wedding day so special!

Peter and his amazing car really made our wedding just so very special. I am so glad that we reached out to him, I don't even know where to begin. Peter was incredibly responsive and so thoughtful in his suggestions for our day.

He picked us up (and was early) from our first look location downtown - and the second we saw the car we were even more excited about the day, which we didn't think was possible!

We told him a few spots we were thinking of in Brooklyn but really put everything in his hands, which worked out beautifully - he drove us over the Brooklyn Bridge and found the perfect spot that wasn't crowded and had absolutely gorgeous views. And then when our photographer wanted to go back to another mural we passed, Peter didn't blink and knew exactly how to get there.

I know he's been doing this a long time, but he seemed just as excited about the adventure as we were which made everything just so fun. The car was, of course, AMAZING - which we could tell by the photos and information he sent us initially - but what we didn't know was how wonderful Peter himself would be.

We are seriously considering booking him again for our one year anniversary - Peter, please keep September 3rd free :-)

Peter and FilmCars was a very magical part of a very magical day, and we are so thankful we found him! If you're considering it too, go for it, you will not regret it!!

I wish I could give more stars for Filmcars. My now husband and I, booked Peter and his 1969 Checker cab for our wedding day on 05/29/2023 - the infamous home alone 2 car! From start to finish Peter went above and beyond; beginning with email correspondence to book Peter. Peter then proceeded to provide lots of tips and was very helpful, great time keeping and even had the friendly touch of a British flag inside the cab. Meeting Peter is an absolutely wonderful experience, he is full of wonderful stories and knowledge about the cab, New York, where to have photos taken. Peter was also super friendly after our wedding day, giving us best wishes for our nuptials and commenting on our photos where the beautiful cab shined in all it's glory! It is very clear that Peter loves what he does and is so proud of his cars, business and his city. If there is anything you must do for your wedding or special event, book Film Cars - you will not regret it! Memories to last a life time.

BEYOND amazing!

Peter and Gil made everything from booking to day-of so seamless. Their kindness speaks volumes and the classic NYC taxi made our New York wedding extra special - not to mention so much more affordable than vintage vehicles quoted elsewhere. Ride of a Lifetime with FilmCars!

We had the absolute best experience with Peter and FilmCars on our wedding day! From the first communication, Peter was not only knowledgeable and helpful, but an absolute delight. I'm not kidding when I say that I have never enjoyed reading someone's email's so much. He is the sweetest man and has fantastic stories. He even took us to some really charming spots in the area to grab a few more photos on our way back to our hotel. Peter is just the best and clearly loves what he does.

In addition, the taxi, which I booked as a surprise for my fiancée and our friends, was beautiful, comfortable, and looked amazing in pictures! It was a treat riding around Brooklyn in the taxi, seeing the joy it brought to passersby. I would book FilmCars and Peter again in a heartbeat!

Fantastic Day

We had a wonderful day with Peter he was patient and very responsive on email on the lead up to the day. Peter even stopped to take photos at some iconic spots which were amazing and cab was beautiful

I have no words but WOW

Wow, wow, wow. Just.....wow. I knew I needed a vintage taxi, but I knew I made that right choice from the very beginning. It was just the cherry on top to finally see it on my wedding day. Peter, you have been absolutely amazing to work with for myself, and even with my Bring On The Brides clients. You are extremely respectful, kind, you care so much for your taxi and clients, you go above measures to confirm information, and make sure that we are all comfortable. Now, on the wedding day......WOW again. The taxi is beautiful, the pictures in/around it were beautiful. Everything about having you apart of my wedding journey and day was completely necessary. 5 Star Experience for the Original NYC Checker Cab!

Film Cars and Peter are the Best in the Biz!

My wife and I booked Peter and “Big Yellow,” a 1957 Checkered Cab, for our wedding day on New Year’s Eve and we are so glad we did. His warmth, kindness, support and professionalism was clear from our very first communication to our very last.

On the day of, Peter arrived early at our hotel and was on standby. He did everything he could to make the day special—from spontaneously driving us up to Tavern on the Green for photos to bringing additional lighting for inside the cab to having “just married” signs ready on-hand to bringing an Italian flag (we’re Italian) so we could hold it up in some shots to wiping down the car so we wouldn’t get wet to helping our photographer stage photos, Peter went above and beyond to make our day so seamless and so special.

It’s clear Peter loves his job (and his customers) and we’ll be forever grateful for his kindness and preparedness, which really helped provide a unique and characteristically New York vibe to our wedding. We would 100% recommend Film Cars to anyone interested!

Amazing Old Taxicabs

Highly recommend hiring Peter and one of his old taxi cabs. This feels more like a passion for him than a traditional wedding vendor. He clearly loves his old cars and keeps them up beautifully.

A class act (and beyond).

Peter Yannello at FilmCars is one of the most professional, thoughtful, and genuinely nice people you will never meet. My wife and I are big vintage buffs and arranged to make a grand entrance at our wedding via checker cab. After another party claiming to rent them turned out to be the hack themselves — they took our deposit and ghosted — we frantically called the number on FilmCars' website and Peter picked up right away, in the middle of another wedding, in the middle of a long weekend. By that night, he followed up to confirm our date, and was communicative at every step of the process, greatly putting our minds at ease.

On our big day, Peter personally drove us, arrived significantly early to ensure our schedule was kept, and was fully prepared; the cab was immaculate, with an empty trunk for our props, sun shades to help our photographer, and the quintessential "just married!" in beautifully written script soap-markered onto the rear window, which in our despair we didn't even ask for. But the real bonus, upon seeing our guests' starry-eyed reaction to the cab, was that Peter stuck around with the cab a little longer to create the unplanned hit photo op of our cocktail hour (a genius content marketing move), delighting guests with stories of every film production "Big Yellow" had ever starred in. He even changed the window writing midway, too, to mix things up. Truly, FilmCars saved the day.

The best vintage taxi rental

If I could give 100 stars, I would. The professionalism, speed, and courtesy Peter handled our request with is unparalleled. As a native New Yorker, it was my dream to rent a vintage taxi for my wedding and he made it happen on such short notice. The driver, Miguel, was icing on the cake. He was beyond kind and went above and beyond for us by providing us with water and helping direct traffic when we were taking our wedding photos. It was a pleasure!

Peter helped to make our wedding day that special it was, he is one of a kind and it was a pleasure to have met him.
Our day started with a delay because of the traffic and I felt a little stressed, but Peter was so calm what makes me feel much better immediately!
He navigated through this big city and it's traffic with his unique Checker Cab without any rush. As "Home alone" - Fan driving in this car was so special, people starred at us and took photos of the beautiful car.

Wonderful experience

From day 1, Peter was very responsive. The driver on the wedding day, Miguel, was fantastic. The car was beautiful and spotless. Miguel assisted the photographer in taking great shots and even put a car mat down on the floor so my dress didn't get wet and dirty. He never made us feel rushed and really set the tone for the day. He even drove us into Central Park and allowed us to get close to Bethesda Fountain. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. Overall, a fantastic experience.

Magical NYC experience

I can not say enough great things about the cab or Peter. Peter worked with us when the other cars were booked, and offered his personal vintage cab and himself as driver. Peter was a pro at navigating the city and even worked with our photographer to make sure we got the perfect shots- one being the cab, us, and the entire Empire State Building. It looks like it’s out of a magazine, and something that would not have happened without his suggestion.
He was one of the easiest vendors we worked with for the wedding. Incredibly responsive and personable. He made sure we got where we needed to on time and never felt rushed. It was so nice to have a calming presence on the way to the ceremony. If you are on the fence about hiring FilmCars, do it. Peter helped to set the tone for the whole day. He helped to make our big day run so smoothly. We would hire him again in a heartbeat.

The best rental car company in NYC hands down!

As someone who is born & raised in NYC I am skeptical of a company and particularly of a person who receives ALL FANTASTIC reviews. I thought I’d give it a try after reading all the great reviews and reach out to a person named “Peter” who everyone seems to rage about. I received a response immediately the next day breaking down the details and options available. This was the first rental car company that I’ve worked with that didn’t give me a headache!
I rented the checkered taxi cab to surprise my husband for our anniversary since his favorite movie is taxi driver. He loved it! The cab was in mint condition. Peter our driver was fabulous . He was welcoming, professional, pleasant and went above and beyond to make our night special. He suggested a place to take pictures with the nyc skyline in the background. He took wonderful pictures of me and my husband. And he was in no rush to drop us off to our destination. He had a wonderful selection of old school songs from in the 70’s-80’s and took us through Times Square (a famous scene from the movie taxi driver).
My point is if you are skeptical of this company like I was originally, don’t be. Peter is a true gem and it’s rare to find that in NYC these days. I would highly recommend you won’t regret it!

Best Taxi Cab Ever!

Words can not express how special Peter, and his FILMCARS team, made us feel on our wedding day! We wanted a classic taxi cab for our NYC wedding, and the cab itself was beautiful. Due to a busy weekend, most of the cabs were already booked, but Peter accommodated us with his personal cab, which meant a lot to us. Peter made our vision come to life, as we drove around in an authentic, classic cab, which had everyone's heads turning as we drove by. Not only did Peter provide us with a beautiful cab, but he went above and beyond! We highly recommend using FILM CARS if you are looking for that classic taxi cab feel!

Choosing a classic vintage checker cab was one of the best choices we made for our NYC wedding. It added character and style and it looks incredible in the photos. Peter is an absolute gem of a human being! Not only is the classic New York taxi cab a staple for a New York wedding, but Peter goes out of his way to make the day more than memorable. He is so responsive, one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet and was flexible driving us to our various destinations. Best wedding attraction!

A NYC theme wedding would have not been complete without an iconic staple as having this classic Taxi posted at the entrance of our wedding venue. Peter was such an amazing individual from the first contact through the day of the wedding. He even allowed us to decompress at the end of the event 😉. Guests were delighted and took many photos. Peter took his time to share stories about this particular vehicle.

The Perfect Touch To A Perfect Day

Peter absolutely made our day! We had so much lined up and weren’t expecting the cab to be our most memorable part of the day. Something about breaking away from the hustle and bustle of your wedding day and then riding with your bride down Madison Ave to Central Park listening to Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra is so special you can’t put words on it. My bride and I had a destination wedding and we not super familiar with our surroundings. Peter was really patient with us! He did all he could to make us feel special. Crazy too… driving down the road and having people step out to take photos with the cab. And the history of all the movies the cab has been in. Absolutely worth every penny! Thanks Peter!!!

Best decision ever

Choosing to work with Peter and having his old-fashioned, authentic taxi show up to our wedding was one of the best decisions we made for our special day. We arranged for Peter to show up about an hour prior to the wedding concluding, and to take us home. The car was beyond authentic, no pictures can do it justice. Everyone that left the wedding saw and loved the car, most taking opportunities to photograph with it too. Literally, everything in this car is original, and it's like it transported us back to an earlier time.

This was truly a unique experience. While the car was certainly one of a kind, we felt the same about Peter. His energy, warmth, and generosity brought a perfect, stress-free ending to what was the best night of our lives. We're grateful that our paths crossed and will always remember our cruise home under the city lights, breakfast at Tiffany's soothing our souls after an aggressive but perfect night of dancing.

While the car provides special value and meaning, so does Peter. His energy and warmth were the icings on the cake for a great addition to our special day.

Perfection! Working with Film Cars today was amazing! Kind and gentle and just incredibly patient. They waited while I was able to take my pictures and I didn't feel rushed. Also, as my couple and I were headed into Central Park I was explained exactly where they were going to be parked so we knew where they going to be parked when my couple and got out of the park. I may have been late, but Peter was not! Peter was super awesome and really added to a nice vibe when I was running late to my first look at then the ceremony of course! A Must for NYC Style on your Wedding Day

I hired this company to have a Checker Cab for my wedding and don't have one single regret. Peter was so professional before, during and after the wedding. The taxi cab was just as pictured, and we got lots of great pictures that I will treasure from our wedding day. The price was fair and within reason given other transportation quotes we got for regular cars. The driver was super nice and flexible to the schedule and photographer. They even offered to write something on the window if we wanted in chalk marker. It was extra special to have a few minutes of privacy during the ride in this taxi to our wedding venue with my groom. Would highly recommend to any bride who wants a little something special and classic NYC!

You Won't Experience Better!

We used this company for our recent wedding and found the service absolutely first rate. Right from our first enquiry email, we found the service to be professional, friendly, and highly responsive. We dealt with Peter in all our correspondence and he was our driver on our big day too. I cannot express in words just what a lovely man he is! He was really flexible about pick up and drop off times until these could be confirmed by the company organising our ceremony. He was also flexible about our drop off location, as this changed on the day. The hire is charged by the hour which helps with flexibility. The vintage checker cab itself was just wonderful. It has been really well looked after and just really made the day even more special. Peter himself was brilliant too - telling us lots of interesting stories about the car, the areas we were driving through and just himself in general. He had us at complete ease from the moment he collected us and even contributed to our photography. Peter then took the time to send us a congratulatory message after our wedding. Yes we paid for the service but Peter really does go the extra mile, and is so genuine with it too. I genuinely cannot recommend him and his company enough, they are worth every penny.

Peter is a very rare find in the wedding industry AND in New York City! His level of dedication and professionalism exceeds any expectation anyone could have. I can’t say enough good things about Peter and the cab we used for our elopement! What a treat!

Incredible Experience!!

From the very first time we made contact with Peter we were impressed. His warm, friendly and enthusiastic emails helped put us at ease immediately. We are from England and it's very difficult to know that you're booking the right people from so far away. Peter came highly recommended by our wedding photographer Sascha Reinking and he did not disappoint, in fact he was a real pleasure to have on our wedding day and the service he provided was truly amazing. Peter responded to our emails extremely promptly and did everything he promised and more!
The car, a 1960's checker cab was the most perfect addition to our wedding day. It made for convenient travel around the city, made us feel extremely privileged with all passers by wanting to take photos and the enthusiasm Peter had telling us stories about the car kept the conversation on the travels engaging and interesting. Peter had a great relationship with our photographer which really helped with organisation, on our wedding day they communicated between themselves which meant that we didn't have to. At the end of our ceremony after we have finished with our photographer, Peter took the time to park up and let us take some photos with our phones. He let us get in the drivers seat and he spent 10 minutes taking photos of us having fun in his amazing car.
After our wedding day Peter sent us the most heart warming email, with a couple of photos he had taken of our day himself. He could not have given us better service if he tried. Peter had gone above and beyond in every sense and if you are considering hiring his services you will not be disappointed!!

Amazing Experience!

I have nothing but good things to say about Peter, and his car. Peter himself is honestly such a pleasure to deal with. He is so warm and friendly, he has so many wonderful stories that he tell as he drives you around, and he's very knowledgeable about the city. The day after the wedding he sent us the most thoughtful email, which was a pleasure to read, not many people would think to do that! The car is stunning. It's in beautiful condition, you would never believe it's as old as it is, and is so comfortable and spacious inside -great when trying to fit a wedding dress in! I really do wish we could have had it for our whole trip, it was such an amazing experience and we could not recommend Peter enough! From my first email to him, he was quick to respond, and offered all the information we could need. Everything about the experience was perfect, even down to the details he wrote on the window. Oh, and our family loved the chance to get a few pictures in the car too!

We used a checker cab for our engagement shoot and Film Cars made it so easy. Peter was very communicative and friendly over email, and he sent a driver named Miguel, who was just the best. Miguel arrived maybe two minutes late and was incredibly apologetic (he got held up in traffic), even though we didn't mind at all. He was so enthusiastic and clearly loves driving the 1969 cab we had. Another bonus was that the cab could actually drive us around, so we didn't have to walk back and forth on cobblestone and carry our stuff everywhere.
I shopped around a lot and Film Cars was by far the best value. They are total pros and the customer service is wonderful. We love the photos and the cab added a special touch.

Peter is INCREDIBLE! My husband and I enlisted his help to use a 1968 checker cab as our getaway car after our ceremony in Manhattan. Everything about the rental was perfect. The car is in immaculate/pristine condition and has been well maintained. The driver/owner, Peter, is the sweetest, most genuine person I encountered during our wedding planning process. He is also very knowledgeable about his vehicles and shared fun facts about the taxi during our short drive from the church to Central Park. Peter remained in constant communication with from us from the time we booked the car (July 2017) through our wedding day (July 2018). He contacted us a few days after the wedding wishing us the best and brightest future (something that other vendors would never do!). He also saved the cork from the champagne we drank as we drove off from the church in case we wanted to save it as a memento! The cab added the perfect NYC feel to our day and was quite the head turner! Our photos with the car are beautiful and were such a unique touch to our day! I would highly recommend Peter’s services to all couples looking for the perfect enhancement to their getaway. Peter and his vintage NYC Checkered Cab were the absolute perfect beginning and end to our wedding. The vehicle itself was immaculate and has been restored to its true beauty, including its original meter. On our day, it was very warm, and the air conditioning was fantastic! The beautiful classic car aside though, we (my wife and I) must note how wonderful Peter Yannello (Owner and Driver) is. Peter, you are an absolute delight! And truely helped us enjoy our magical day! Peter really thinks of everything, and worked so well with our photographers. The pictures are incredible.

We couldn't have asked for a better way to get to our wedding venue than with Peter and his immaculate yellow cab.

Peter stayed in contact from the moment we found him right up until a phone call and email the day before our wedding. He was beyond accommodating as we arranged our wedding on a fairly short timeline. He even re-arranged his schedule so he could fit us in for our Friday wedding.

His cab was absolutely gorgeous, and even matched my wife's shoes and flowers. He even put a Canadian flag on the dash! All of our guests loved chatting with him and taking pictures with the cab before we headed out. Once we arrived at our location, Peter was, again, ready, helping the photographer to set up shots and cut down on the glare as the sun came out upon our arrival.

If you want to add some authenticity to your New York wedding, or you just want to add a piece to your wedding that will cause everyone - EVERYONE - to stop and stare, you've got to hire Peter.

FilmCars/ New York Checker was the icing on the wedding cake for a fantastic New York City wedding. As an event director by trade I knew I wanted something unique and special to surprise my soon to be husband with - an original checkered cab (which has all the original interior characteristics with modern day air conditioning for our July wedding!!!). After a quick internet search I found Peter and his team. (Coincidentally, a Wedding Planner colleague confirmed he's her go to as well!)

I received an instant response from Peter with a fair quote and genuine enthusiasm to share his personal pride and joy and complete professionalism. He shared NYC history with us! Peter was prompt, hid the car around the corner in shade as it was a surprise, and once we were off to our ceremony he knew exactly what to say to take our minds off the nerves.

The checked cab turned heads throughout NYC. An impossible task. It became the most incredible backdrop to our photos and our family and friends loved seeing us arrive in pure nostalgia.

Coincidentally after booking separately, I found out Peter knew my photographer from their Brooklyn neighborhood. My photog also had wonderful words to ensure me I hired a professional to escort us to the venue.

The cab was talked about throughout the evening. It was the perfect ride to a perfect evening in NYC. Thank you Peter for sharing your cab with us...I look forward to hiring you and recommending you.

This was by far the best part of our wedding day. My husband and I eloped to New York from England to get married in Central Park. It was an absolute fairytale. We got married in December, just in time for christmas. I found Peter and Filmcars by complete accident on Tripadvisor. We were looking for something a bit different to get us around the city as it was just the 2 of us. The USP for us was that the vintage checker cab was used in our all time favourite christmas movie - Home Alone 2. When we saw the car pull up, i was overwhelmed. It has been decorated with ribbons, with just married written on the back window. It gets better - Inside was an ice bucket filled with coca cola (our favourite drink, we don't drink alcohol) and lots of sweet treats. To top it off, Peter has the USA and UK mini flags in the back, and had made a CD with the soundtrack to Home Alone 2! There was no question this gentleman couldn't answer. He has lived a very exciting life, and was filled with stories. He drove us across Queensborough Bridge (mirroring the scene from Home Alone where Kevin hangs out of the taxi window). We were star struck to be in the exact car that had been used in the film! Peter was amazing, and neither of us wanted to get out. We could have sat and listened to his stories for hours. What a guy. To anyone thinking about it, do it. You will absolutely not be disappointed. This will stay with me forever...

From the moment I first corresponded with Peter at Film Cars, I knew I was in good hands. I had reached out to several companies and Peter immediately stood apart from the rest. He was so kind and accommodating, setting up using his classic yellow checker cab (Big Yellow) was an easy and enjoyable process. In a time when you are working with so many vendors, it is nice for one to stand out for being so easy to work with.

On the day of, we couldn't have asked for more. They were early and ready for us. The cab is gorgeous! It was awesome to have this iconic NY cab in photos and drive around the city with it. Peter was a great host and driver and there was plenty of room for our photographer to sit up front and take photos as we drove to our actual photo destination. We had such good luck that day - a stranger even opened up Gramercy park for us to take photos in it! I can't help but think that Big Yellow was our good luck charm. I would recommend Film Cars without hesitation.

It was such a pleasure to have Peter of Film Cars as a part of our big day. The entire process of working with him from start to finish was so enjoyable and I could not recommend him more for any transportation needs you might have. I heard about Peter's company from a co-worker who recommended him after using his services for her own wedding and recently for her 10 year anniversary. I had been looking for a vintage cab or car for only a couple of hours to get us around our Greenpoint neighborhood for a few stops on our wedding day that would fit into our budget. Peter was more than accommodating from his first email on and offered up his own car and personal services for a reasonable price and was completely upfront and honest. He is courteous and professional, was always warm, kind, and reassuring in every email, correspondence, and interaction. He was completely accommodating with all of our requests and happily decorated the car for us as part of his services. He was so understanding and whisked us away from all of the commotion for private moments together throughout our ride and evening. Also he did not count the minutes when we went over our allotted time like other drivers would and did not charge us anything beyond our previously negotiated rate. Getting to enjoy just a quiet drive around our neighborhood and getting a break from all of the festivities, family and friends was just what we needed that day. It was so great to just sit and talk with him about music, movies, our honeymoon travel plans, and not worry about the wedding for a few moments. We got so many compliments about the cab all evening, it was a huge hit with our guests and produced some fantastic photos. It was so funny to see complete strangers on the street take photos as we were driving by or try to hail us down for a lift, it really was a once in a lifetime experience! Hope we get to work together with him again one day in the future. Thank you Peter!

The classic taxi cab was the perfect way for my husband and I to cap off our wedding ceremony in Brooklyn, but the true gem is Peter!!!! He is so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the classic taxi cab!!!! Peter is one of the most personable and thorough people I had the pleasure of meeting throughout the wedding planning process. He responded promptly and professionally to every e-mail making him super easy to work with. Despite most of his cabs being out of state for a show, he found an amazing solution to ensure that we had a vintage checker cab on our wedding day.

His enthusiasm for his fleet of vintage checker cabs is contagious! We were lucky enough to have Peter himself be a chauffer the day of the wedding. He gave us such a wonderful history lesson on the checker cab. He had such a wonderful sense of humor as well. There were no jitters on the ride over to the church due to his personable nature.

He paid attention to every detail. He even had "Just Married" written across the back windshield, along with cans trailing behind the cab for our departure from the church. The cab and Peter met and exceeded my expectations for our wedding day. You absolutely cannot go wrong when you book with Film Cars!

Highly recommend Peter & his fabled checker cab! What an amazing ending to our NYC wedding. Peter made the booking process very easy & enjoyable, he is so knowledgeable and we loved the history of the cab as we are film buffs. Also, I found the price very affordable! Plus our photos came out amazing, and he even went out of his way to take some iPhone pics for us at the end of night. He decorated the cab beautifully with a "Just Married" sign on the rear window & cans hanging at the back. He is a safe driver & an unbelievably kind person as well. I wasn't one of those brides who had their whole wedding planned from the time they were 12, however, once a wedding did seem like it was in the cards, the only thing I knew I had to have was a vintage checker taxi to bring my NYC love to life. For the last 10+ years I have collected anything and everything yellow taxi related. The iconic imagery of a checker cab was a focal point of our wedding design and decor. We wanted all our guests to pose with the vintage taxi upon arrival and then those images would be printed to serve as favors (with cute taxi holders). Peter at Film Cars was amazing! I emailed him so far in advance, he had to ask me to contact him when it was closer. As we continued to stay in touch, he even allowed us to set up an appointment to see the car in advance of booking. He was SO personable with all our guests. He let our flower girls pose with their parents sitting on the hood, he allowed our other guests to get in, pose inside and outside, etc. My 92 year old Grandad even got in the driver's seat. All our guests raved about how friendly Peter was. He was so excited by our love of the cab and so appreciative of the collaborative creative process. Posing with the cab was one of my favorite parts of the day!

I contacted Peter, with Film Cars, about driving for our wedding in NYC this October. Prior to the wedding, he thoroughly answered every question I had. His prices were very fair. On the day-of, he showed up before his scheduled arrival time. The car was pristine, and exactly what was pictured in Peter's emails. Peter was incredibly nice and professional. We took many pictures both inside and outside the checker. Peter decorated the car with beautiful yellow flowers on the bumper, and wrote "just married" on the back windshield. It was so charming, and everyone at the wedding commented on how perfect the car was. I would absolutely recommend Film Cars and Peter Yanello, to anyone looking for a reliable, professional, and thoughtful vintage car for events!

Peter is fantastic to deal with and like many other reviewers, our decision to hire Peter was one of the best we made while organizing our wedding. Unlike so many other vendors, Peter did not see our big day as a big pay day. He not only offered much better value than all of the other checker cab companies we contacted, but he also played a huge role in making the day special for for us with his professionalism, sensitivity and great personality.

The 1969 Checker Cab we chartered for our wedding was without a doubt one of the highlights of our NY wedding. I came across Film Cars while browsing the internet for neat wedding ideas and loved the idea of coming out of the church with my wife and getting in a vintage cab to head over to the reception. Peter from Film Cars was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was professional and responsive with my inquiries and made the booking process very easy. Additionally, he was genuinely excited to see how much we enjoyed having the car for our wedding. My wife and I loved the types of photographs we were able to get with the taxi cab (in the cab, on the hood, etc.). Peter was even kind enough to send us some pictures he took on his phone during our picture sessions so we got a sneak peak at the kinds of pictures we can expect from our photographer. My husband had the greatest idea, which was to rent a vintage 1960s Yellow Checker Cab for our Manhattan wedding... what a great idea for our photos! I contacted about 20 companies that offered services like this and above and beyond immediately, I KNEW Film Cars was for me!! The owner, Peter, was probably the NICEST person I've EVER spoken to in my life! He seemed genuinely excited to be providing the cab for our event!! Everything was easily and quickly booked, and at a very affordable price! The cab showed up on time with "Just Married" written on the back window, per my request, and let me tell you, it looked SO cool! We got IN it, we got ON it, we posed around it... these have to be the coolest looking photos (I'll post when I get them from our photographer) ever!!! If you're looking for vintage cars, don't go ANYWHERE else!!!!! The cab was clean, the driver respectful and Peter is just the most lovely person!! So glad I booked Film Cars!!

We hired a vintage checker cab from filmcars.com. We had the car for four hours to travel round the city and have pictures taken with our photographer.
The cab was absolutely beautiful! Mint condition. And Peter, what can I say! Service above and beyond anything I could have expected. Expert guide for our tour of the city.
We eloped to City hall and this car just was the icing on the cake. Perfect day!

Peter Yanello at FilmCars (www.filmcars.com) provided us with an excellent end-of-the-night "get away" car - a 1969 NYC Checker taxicab! This car has been featured in many movies, including When Harry Met Sally (my all time favorite movie!), and as the inspiration for the cover of the New Yorker (June 25, 2007). It is authentic and was such a great end to our wedding day.

Initially I had contacted Peter with numerous inquiries about the different vehicles he had available to rent. Like many parts of my wedding, I didn't really know what I wanted or was looking for when I first contacted him. Despite this confusion, Peter was kind, responsive and very willing to discuss different options. After some back and forth, I decided to go with the more traditional limo option for bridal party transport to the wedding and Peter had received another booking for most of his cars. It didn't seem that it was our destiny to use his checker taxicab.

However, about one month before the wedding, I was still searching for a unique way for my husband and I to leave the wedding (as a surprise to him). I contacted Peter again to see if he could accommodate just two hours late on that Saturday night. To our delight, he could and he did!

He arrived exactly on time, as agreed. We used the car to take some photos for about 20 minutes, then returned for the final 30 minutes of the wedding, before climbing in to go home. Peter was gracious to our guests, including my Mother-in-Law who loves old cars and I think had a long conversation with Peter about the car. On the drive back to the hotel, Peter offered to take my new husband and I through Times Square, to enjoy the ride a bit more. (But we opted to go home, we were so tired!) Peter also had a great selection of classic Sinatra-type songs on the radio during our ride. Peter was professional, kind and accommodating. He was great to have as part of our day.

We worked with Film Cars to rent a vintage checker cab for our getaway car and the service was fantastic. Peter was our main point of contact and our driver day-of. He was responsive, answered all our questions, was prompt and accommodating. He decorated the cab beautifully, drove us around Williamsburg with our photographer for photo ops, provided us with cold water refreshments, and even waited for us to change at the hotel before dropping us off at our after-party. The service far exceeded our expectations, and we had a blast! The value is also better than any other quote you'll get in NYC!!

This review is so overdue. Both my husband and I completely fell in love with our NY Checker Cab and with Peter, Film Cars owner. To say that he went above and beyond in helping us organise the transport for our big day would be a total understatement. From the start, he was a fountain of knowledge and clearly loves his work.
Before our wedding he was so, so helpful in assisting us with timings and recommendations and on the big day, he was a wonderful addition to the celebrations, taking me to the venue and assisting with photographs after.
Peter is a truly lovely man (You'll notice that I can't sing his praises enough) and works to the highest of professional standards. I understand that his fleet has some amazing vehicles and I would work with him again in a heartbeat.

I can not say enough about the service that was provided by Peter at Film Cars. We rented a vintage yellow checker cab to take us from our ceremony in NYC to our reception in Jersey City. They were prompt, professional, and very accommodating. The car was spacious and immaculate and they added small touches at no extra charge (scripted "just married" on the rear window and fresh flowers on the rear bumper). Our drive through the city got numerous cheers and thumbs up, especially while waiting in traffic for the Holland Tunnel. The cab added such a special touch to our wedding that I feel was priceless, however the price was extremely reasonable.

As we were having a destination wedding in New York, I was quite happy to jump in a taxi to our ceremony to save costs, but my husband had seen the vintage New York Checker cabs and persuaded me that we should hire one, and boy am I glad he did.

Peter is one of the nicest guys I have had the pleasure to meet. We booked him for three hours. He picked myself and my dad up outside our hotel, where we found passersby posing for photos next to our vintage cab. He told us all about the history of our checker cab, listing all the films it has appeared in. After the ceremony, my husband and I went round the park to have some pictures taken, and came back to our cab to find wild flowers and tin cans hanging from the back and messages from all our guests written on the windows, amazing! He even tied a UK flag to one of the wing mirrors.

Peter whisked my husband and I and our photographer all over the city for an hour and a half, stopping at all the best sightseeing spots for photographs. Nothing was too much trouble. He knew exactly where to take us for some fabulous photos. Everyone was taking photographs as we drove down the streets, we felt like royalty.

I would highly recommend Peter and his vintage cars for the ultimate experience. It really was a highlight of our wedding day, and looks amazing on our photographs. Thank you Peter.

Peter and his 1969 Checker taxicab helped give us that old New York feel that wow'ed our guests and made the day a little extra special. We hit the jackpot when we randomly walked past a vintage Checkered taxicab in the city one afternoon and asked the driver for a card. For our wedding day we wanted something special that screamed "NYC," and we got more than what we bargained for by working with Peter. From the start Peter impressed us with his responsiveness and kindness. The car was waiting for us after the ceremony and we couldn't believe how amazing it looked and our guests went wild. If I could give them more stars I would! We were so happy to have found the perfect car for our wedding day with such wonderful and professional service. Peter Yanello was so nice from the day I contacted him, his level of commitment and quick responses were amazing! I contacted him on a holiday and he immediateky called me back. I know that they are a busy company that cater to many other realms other than weddings but Peter truly made us feel like we were the only customers. He really went above and beyond to accomodate every need we had in our very chaotic NYC wedding day. It all turned out perfectly. Our driver Miguel was the NICEST guy and super professional. He was perfectly ontime to pick me up at the hotel...actually even early, we went to 4 different locations for photographs, in and out, up and down manhattan, and finally to the church and he always had a smile on his face and as helpful as could be. Needless to say the checkered cab was a complete sensation! I am still getting comments about how awesome it looked. a 1969 checkered cab, it was truly wonderful and I cannot thank Peter enough. He himself picked us up after the reception was over and even though we were 20 minutes late, he greeted us with a smile on his face and as patient as could be. Peter was BY FAR the most excited vendor for my wedding. We hired the 1969 taxi cab. When I first inquired about the availability, all the taxis were scheduled to be at a show that weekend. Peter kept his personal taxi home and personally chauffeured us that day. He had cold water, mints, and a straw (so I didn't ruin my lipstick) waiting for us. He's amazing, the cab was amazing, and he/it absolutely made my wedding extremely special.

Peter was our driver and he was amazing! This expense was sooooooo worth it. We got amazing pictures with the vintage cab and we drove around the city for an hour after the wedding just decompressing and looking out the window. They are FANTASTIC!

Peter and his vintage NYC taxicab were an important part of our wedding day. Peter met us outside our apartment building for our "first look" photos. We have lots of gorgeous photos of us posing near/in the cab, whose shiny, perfect condition and bright yellow/black coloring added a dose of sparkle to our day. Peter also drove us to the venue, and we got lots of cheers/clapping from passerbys on the street as our chariot drove us through downtown Manhattan. Peter also suggested that we write "Just Married" on the back of the window, which also yielded some terrific photo ops. Filmcars gave us a little piece of NYC magic on our wedding day and we're very grateful!
