Awesome music, punctual, and respected how we wanted the night to go. Was on time, came prepared, and was great with feeling the guests musical tastes. We also provided songs we wanted to hear, and he gladly played them. Thank you again!

Tom hardly needs another glowing review, since they are all over this board, but I'll throw my two cents in here regardless! I'm so pleased we went with Tom for our wedding, since dancing was very important to us. Throughout the whole process, Tom was responsive, flexible, helpful, and above all experienced! A friend of ours was our MC and our venue has some weird logistics and sound restrictions -- oh, and we had custom edits of our first dance songs. Nothing fazed Tom. Everything ran smoothly and every cue was perfect! Most importantly, we and our guests were out on the dance floor all night, and even after my husband and I left the dancing continued until the lights turned on! That's my kind of party. Thank you, Tom, for being such a wonderful part of our perfect day!

Tom with California Sounds fulfilled everything we wanted for our wedding DJ. We knew after our first meeting with him that he was going to meet all of our expectations. The cost was economical for our wedding budget and Tom worked with us every step of the way creating the perfect wedding soundtrack to keep the reception moving and the party going. His expertise was evident with the wedding worksheet that made sure we thought about all the music we would want from the bridal party entrance to the cake cutting. Tom helped put me at ease by playing one of my favorite songs while we were waiting for the ceremony to start and never once tried to take attention away from the reception. He also played all the songs we gave to him. We would recommend Tom and California Sounds. It will be money well spent.

Tom was the BEST! He was so easy to work with. We told him what we liked and he did a great job weaving it into the music of the evening. He was dressed professionally. He worked with us on our last minute changes. People were on the dance floor the ENTIRE night! I would recommend him to EVERYONE!

The Calamigos Equstrian in Burbank on Friday, July 20th was the place to be. All I can say is nobody wanted to stop dancing. Our guests couldn't get on the dance floor fast enough and never left it. They played such a great variety of music that kept everyone on their feet. It makes for a great wedding/party when no one wants to stop dancing...the dance floor was never empty. We are still getting phone calls and comments on how much fun it was and what great music we had. Thank you guys.

Tom, is amazing. He helped us plan the timing of the wedding, was professional on time, and reliable. He also played great music. Everyone stayed until around 12:30pm so he was doing something right. I highly recommend Tom. He will work with you and make the music arrangement that you want. He will also help you make sure that your guests get what they want too.

Tom was the DJ for my friends' wedding a few years back, so when I needed a DJ for my own wedding, there was no other choice for me - I remembered how great he was for their wedding and I was sold. Tom was quick to respond to emails (preferred choice of correspondence for me since I work in an office surrounded by people and it is dicey to make and take personal calls). His prices are reasonable and he was very easy to work with - he even had forms that would help him get a good idea of what music we liked and he stuck to it.

Our wedding went off without a hitch and everyone loved Tom's DJing. He was great at quick thinking - we forgot to mention a slideshow with sound and he was able to put something together to connect it to his speakers with only a short period of time.

I would HIGHLY recommend his DJ services to anyone looking for a great DJ for their wedding.

Tom Chandler is seriously amazing. No words can express how pleased we were with him. He knows how to read a crowd and will give you exactly what you ask for AND all the things you didn't even know you wanted. Not to mention he was one of the most affordable DJ's we spoke with. He has a great speaking voice - sounds like an experienced MC, knows what to play, and how to get a party started. Can't go wrong with this guy.

Tom is one of the my favorite wedding vendors I have worked with... We met with a couple DJs and we felt like we were at a reality TV show when we meet these DJs... It started with the first DJ who is like 20 minutes late to the meeting, turns out not to be available for our wedding day, try to upsell us on things, who referred us to another DJ in his company.. who reminded us of "The Situation" from Jersey Shore... Enough said..

Next up from Jersey Shore.. we met with a soft spoken , teacher during day time and DJ at night time.. and then we meet another DJ who says "like" or was it "and" every three words in a sentence..

Finally we met Tom, who was recommended through our friend. I feel like finding a DJ is like finding a reflection of you two as a couple.. The other DJs are great too but my more outgoing love to party friends will pick the DJ whose energy shouts V-E-G-A-S and drinks.... we are more of a casual lounge, laid back type of couple and DJ Tom embodies that. He is responsible, responsive, and at a great value. I had booked too much of his time and when I wanted to scale down on his package, he allowed me to do that despite my signed contract.. I had also my bridezilla moment and ask Tom to come meet us at the venue in Long Beach (him coming from Pasadena area) on a weekday night and we only chatted for 30 minutes..

At our wedding day, Tom was great, there was no issue at all.. The MC role is just the right tone to set our mood and he gets people to the dance floor (and brides: what really get people to the dance floor is you or your groom on the dance floor)...

Bottom line: Tom was one of the top vendors I really enjoyed working with for our wedding day.. I highly recommend Tom

Tom was the DJ for our April wedding and we were so glad that we booked him! I couldn't imagine a better DJ! I sent him everything I wanted in terms on songs and entrances and he got it all right the day of the wedding. He was great at keeping to the timeline and keeping things on schedule, which I really appreciated as well. He also played great music and really kept the party going and people out on the dance floor. He did a fantastic job and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great, non-cheesy DJ.

Tom Chandler was our wedding DJ, and he was fantastic. He incorporated all the songs on our "play list" and then added other songs to it that were similar. One of the songs we wanted him to play did not have a "clean radio edit" (we were not aware of this when we put it on our list), and he was smart and courteous enough to ask if we still wanted the song to be played.
Tom kept everyone on the dance floor, which is exactly what we wanted. He was professional, funny, and not at all cheesy.

Tom at California Sounds is hardly a cheesy wedding DJ - he has a Bachelor's Degree in music and is up-to-date on both current music and technology. Our dance floor was packed all night - he played the perfect blend of music for both the older guests and the younger guests. He also did a great job helping us figure out our reception timeline and was super responsive to all of our questions. Also, please know that he managed to navigate downtown LA in the middle of a labor protest to ensure that we had A/V for our ceremony and music at our reception. Simply the best!

We hired Tom Chandler of California Sounds for our ceremony and reception. He was excellent! Our venue was indoor/outdoor and he made it work, the speakers, the microphones, everything. The music was all on cue and he kept the entire event running on schedule. I honestly believe it would have been like herding cats if Tom wasn’t there. He was very professional and not at all cheesy. He kept our wedding classy and elegant but also fun! Everyone, including the bride and groom, had such a great time dancing! My husband, who is also a musician, was understandably very particular about the music. Tom really understood what we wanted and was able to accommodate all our requests. I highly recommend California Sounds to anyone who wants an experienced and affordable professional to DJ their wedding or special event.

All 5's for California Sounds. Chris was our DJ (I think he is not their main DJ) and he came through in a big way. Chris met with us promptly (about 3 weeks before the wedding) on our own terms and we quickly got a feel for the kind of DJ he is. Chris did everything we asked for and really ran the night smoothly when it came to grand entrance, dances, speeches etc. He kept the party going for most of the night and was very professional. He was also an excellent value. I would absolutely recommend California Sounds!

Tom was awesome! Got married in Jan. it was a small wedding. My family is 100% latino. Tom played so many hits in spanish. Everyone had a blast. Non stop dancing, it was awesome. He was a great MC. Really nice guy, did an excelelnt job. Price was very reasonable. He also played the music for our church wedding. Very happy with his services.

Tom of Cal Sounds is your no frills, non-cheeseball, and cool wedding DJ. He is not the obnoxious wedding DJ/MC that is always mumbling and yelling something in the mic just to hear himself speak. He's down to earth and really easy to work with. He knows what to play even if you don't have a song list. He makes the announcements when necessary or as requested by my DOC. He helped make the cake cutting and bouquet/garter toss fun. He won't play the chicken dance and the line dancing music (unless you want him to). I come from a Filipino family who LOVES to dance and he caught on quick. He changed up the music and made sure people were on the floor. Best part, he's affordable for the budget-conscious bride. It is only this one time when the term "you get what you pay for" is NOT true. He is inexpensive and his services are the same as any other wedding DJ!! Highly recommended.

Tom, from California Sounds, was probably the best decision I made for all of my vendors. He arrived early with his assistant even before our venue's representative showed up. I did not have a coordinator so he and his assistant did an amazing job keeping things on track and making announcements throughout the night. Tom even made it possible for us to have a small band play at the beginning of our reception. He kept everyone dancing all night. He was amazing and all at a spectacular price!

Tom was truly one of the best vendors I had. My guests are still raving about what a great DJ he was and how the music he played was perfect. We gave him a small playlist, but he did a fantastic job of choosing music that fit perfectly with our style. He is a true professional in all aspects. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend for a second.

Tom is great. He showed up with an assistant very early to set up (at approximately 3pm) and stayed all night (until 11pm). He's very professional and responsive. He provided both ceremony, cocktail, and reception music at an extremely reasonable rate and even agreed to hold our initial meeting in Marina del Rey, even though he lives all the way in Pasadena. We were both very happy with him and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a fun, easy-going, professional DJ/MC.

I'm so surprised to be the first one to write a review - these guys are very popular on the knot! Tom from California Sounds was professional, funny, and very nice from the first time we met him. They are pretty inexpensive compared to alot of the DJ's we looked at, and had the same services offered. He did an amazing job at our wedding - stuck to our play list but was flexible with some of the different stuff we did - had a choreographed dance, had people singing, etc. He has a great presence and made the night go smoothly!

They were willing to work with despite the long distance since I was having my wedding event outside of Zion Canyon . They were punctual, polite and the MC was upbeat and funny. The only flaw was that he forgot to announce the final speech is given by the parents. Other than that perfect service .

I want to say a big Thank you to Tom, for always being a professional who showed they care! I lived in Santa Barbara while planning my wedding in Pomona, CA. Tom made sure to meet me half way and always be in touch within a timely manner. He was great leading up to the wedding and then showed how great of a DJ he is on the day of our wedding. My event coordinator for my venue had quit that day, yes that day!!! And I didn't know about it until before the ceremony. I let Tom know and he stepped right in and made me feel comfortable that everything would run smoothly. Up to the wedding, I had also thought that I had a very dance friendly group of people coming to the wedding, well I was wrong about that. Even though some people were complete duds Tom had a core group dancing all night long! I love music, so most of it was my own playlist, which Tom mixed very well. Thanks Tom, and I will be recommending you!

His prices are reasonable, as I had done my research early on and was lucky enough to book him. Don't delay!! :)

Music was really important to me for my wedding and so I was so pleased and relieved to work with such a fun and professional team at Festival Sounds. Shawn was our DJ for the event and he was great to work with. He really listened to my requests and provided a great soundtrack for the whole wedding event. I would recommend paying the extra money to have them attend the rehearsal (which I did not do) as we had a few issues with the wedding processional that could have been worked out at the rehearsal prior to the big day. I definitely recommend working with Festival Sounds!

If your looking for a DJ in Southern Utah these are your go-to guys. At first, the communication was challenging, but in part that was due to the day, we were hosted our wedding. Adam was great to work with and the event hosted by Sean brought the energy and atmosphere we expected from such a well-known company.

I enjoyed working with festival sounds. Adam was great throughout our wedding process promptly answering our questions and making sure we knew exactly what we were paying for.
Our DJ (not Adam) was there promptly when he was supposed to be and played throughout the entire event. However, he didn't interact much with us or the guests. The music was slow the entire time. We asked for slow music while people were eating but after that we were hoping for dancing music and something that would get the guests up and moving. Overall, the DJ that was at our wedding was okay. He did his job, was there on time and followed through on everything we asked just didn't interact much with us or the guests and kept to himself eating and on his phone. For those looking for a DJ I would recommend Festival Sounds, but you may need to be more blunt with what you do and don't want.

After reading all the reviews I definitely wanted to work with Tom from Cal Sounds. When we inquired about meeting with him, he informed us he was already booked the day of our wedding but that Chris Brouelette was available and could meet with us. We decided to go ahead and set up a meeting with him. Chris responded quickly via email and we set up a time and day for him to come to our home and discuss everything.

Unfortunately the day of our meeting Chris was a no-show. This was really disturbing for us because we were worried if he didn’t come to a meeting would he show up to our wedding. So our search was going to continue. But the next morning I received an email from Chris apologizing profusely for missing the meeting. He explained the mix-up and wanted to set up another meeting. I explained to Chris that my fiancé didn’t want to chance working with him because he would be afraid he wouldn’t show up the day of the wedding. But Chris told us he would make it up to us if we met with him and offered us a discount. After hearing discount we figured what could we lose by meeting with him.

Well we are glad we did – Chris was amazing. Chris was easy to talk and we felt that he knew the direction we wanted to go with and could deliver.

The day of wedding Chris was there and ready to go by the time we got to our venue. He also was dressed in a suit and looked great. He had all the speakers and microphones set up at the gazebo for the ceremony and had music playing for our guest prior to the ceremony, during cocktail hour and for the entire reception. Chris collaborated great with our DOC Christina and Melissa from Tina Molina Events and our timeline ran smoothly. From the reception on he took over – he did all the introductions, announced the dances and did the cake cutting. He was great and the music was great as well.

We were very happy with Chris Brouelette from Cal Sounds and would recommend them.
