Choosing Fancy Cakes by Lauren is something you will not regret. Ever. I have no words because everything was so amazing, flawless, and delicious. Lauren and her team are the sweetest people, so creative and I'm so excited I found them!!

Surprise Grooms Cake

As a bride it was so special to have the cake of my dreams but it was even better to surprise my groom with a LIFE SIZED replica of his dog (Nestle). But not make of cake, but brownies (because of his love for brownies). Every one of our guests were amazed by the beautiful creation that Lauren made. There were countless photos and videos taken of this amazing cake. Lauren is so talented and a caring genuine person on top of that. If you are able to book Lauren to create a cake of your dreams, do so! Your search is over. She is so easy to work with and is makes some of the most delicious cakes (and brownies) I have ever tasted. I can not thank Lauren enough for helping me surprise my groom and make my day so special.

Amazing DOG!!!!

Have you ever seen the incredibly realistic looking cakes of dogs? My daughter wanted to surprise her "then fiance" with a replica of his dog, Nestle, for the groom's cake. When the groom saw the cake, he was literally brought to tears! To say that Lauren delivered is an understatement! "Nestle" was at the wedding in all his glory and guests literally had to be told it was a cake. They thought it was a statue! Guests throughout the wedding were taking photos and video of the groom's cake. It was definitely a highlight of the event. This is not to say the bride's cake was not beautiful as well, but having a cake like the "Nestle" cake made my daughter's wedding even more of a special event than it already was! If you are blessed enough to be able to schedule Lauren for your wedding, do so! Of all the "add-ons" that you consider for a wedding, this is the one that will have the greatest impact. Lauren will elevate your event to a whole new level!!!!

Highly recommend Fancy Cakes by Lauren. Fancy Cakes stepped in when our initial bakery closed last minute. I am so happy that we were referred to Fancy Cakes by Lauren because they delivered a perfectly delicious and beautiful cake! The office was so easy to work with as well!

Lauren is Amazing

Lauren was so easy to work with and she really nailed my cake. We were a very traditional decor couple and she made us an all cake, square tiered, lemon and chocolate cakes, with real flowers wrapped around the cake. She easily worked with my venue, planner, and florist seamlessly. Her mocha filling is wonderful and I could eat a whole bowl! You really can't go wrong choosing Lauren and her wonderful cake designs.

Elegant White Wedding Cake

I used Fancy Cakes by Lauren for my wedding cake and couldn't be happier! Lauren made the wedding cake process a breath of fresh air during all the chaos of planning a wedding. I had a dream of a very traditional elegant white wedding cake that had attributes from my grandparents wedding cake. I knew that this wasn't an easy task and Lauren would be the only one to make this vision a reality. Lauren exceeded all expectations as the cake was even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Not only did it look amazing, but it tasted just as good as it looked. During the cake testing, we loved all of the choices and had a very hard time choosing because all the flavors tasted so wonderful. Our wedding guest still talk about our wedding cake and how it was one to remember. Lauren created a cake that my family and I will cherish forever. I would highly recommend Fancy Cakes by Lauren for all your cake needs.

Amazing amazing amazing

The best of the best! Lauren was so easy to work with from the first email I sent her. She goes above and beyond with her cakes. She knows exactly how to bring your vision to life. Literally! Her cake is so delicious it was hard to decide which flavor of cake to go with at the cake tasting. No matter which one you go with, you cannot go wrong. I got the most compliments at my wedding over my cake. People are still talking about it to this day! If you want to wow your guests with your cake, Fancy Cakes by Lauren is your person! So beyond happy we went with her!

Best wedding cakes ever!

We wanted a very specific grooms cake and Lauren made it perfectly. Not only was it incredible, it tasted amazing. The guests were all blown away. The brides cake was gorgeous and I still dream about how it tasted. We did the Champagne cake with raspberry filling

Best Cakes ever

Lauren and her team are immaculate bakers and cake designers. They are all so nice- I missed my first tasting and they allowed me to come by and pick up the tasting pieces and enjoy them at home and take notes then we came back for the design meeting. She has a great way of collaborating with you and figuring out your dream cake with it being your idea- not something imposed on you :)

Lauren and Melinda were so amazing to work with and our cake exceeded our expectations. They were extremely responsive and helped us figure out exactly what we wanted while still keeping our budget in mind. The guests raved about the quality and how great it tasted and I was so happy when my mom sent a piece to our hotel room after the wedding that evening - it was the best thing to finish off an amazing wedding day with! We would recommend Fancy Cakes to everyone!

Lauren created a beautiful and tasty wedding cake. She was very thorough in understanding our wants and desires. She worked with us in a timely manner. The cake arrived at the venue in excellent shape. Our champagne cake with raspberry puree filling and butter cream icing was out of this world delicious. It was just as we expected and our guests raved over the beauty and taste of the cake. I will definitely use Lauren again in the future and I highly recommend her.

Lauren with Fancy Cakes did our cake for our daughter's wedding. She was awesome to work with and made it exactly as Kristen hoped for. She wanted one side of the cake to be a brides traditional looking cake and the back side to be the grooms cake. The Groom's side was to be a rock climbing side of a mountain with two people climbing to the top. Lauren was able to make it without any fondant which was our request and it turned out perfect - actually beyond perfect!!!! The flavors also matched the perfection on the outside. We cannot say enough about this experience.

Wow! I cannot get over how AMAZING Lauren and her entire team is. We had an amazing experience with them. From the initial meeting to the wedding day, everything was LITERALLY seamless. I gave her the tough task of wanting a cake that was beautiful, architectural, simple yet complex, and represented me. Of course, we had only spent 5 minutes together! She immediately sketched out an idea and it was THE ONE. It was perfect, and it translated on wedding day to absolute brilliance. If I could give 10 stars, I certainly would!

I would highly recommend Fancy Cakes by Lauren! Both our wedding and groom's cake were delicious and looked amazing! We only made it home with half of our topper because we kept going back for seconds. Lauren is upbeat and personable and made the whole wedding cake experience fun!

Lauren is exceptionally talented, and was so fun to work with! At the consultation, she was able to take my ideas as a bride, and sketch them into a masterpiece. (Not to mention her cakes were the most delicious of all the tastings! Toffee caramel filling - YES please!) When we finally saw the cake at our wedding reception - we were amazed at its stunning beauty!!!!! It was everything I'd dreamed of, and MORE! Guests gasped when they saw it, and commented how tasty all the different layers were. After the wedding, we froze the leftovers, and ate on it for weeks. YUM!!! Fancy Cakes by Lauren is a top-notch bakery, and I highly recommend it to any bride. Thanks to Lauren and her wonderful team, we had the PERFECT, dreamy wedding cake!! :)

If you are looking for a great vendor to perform top notch work for your wedding, look no further. Fancy Cakes by Lauren is the best place to go. I received the recommendation from a friend and decided to give this establishment a try. Let me say that I am very glad that we did!

My fiancé (now husband) and I had three main factors in selecting a cake vendor 1. Professionalism 2. Quality of Service/
Easy to work with, and 3. Price. Lauren hit all three of these areas out of the park. The ambience of her studio was welcoming and inviting. The sample cake selection was incredible (we ate all of them and could not decide which flavors to pick), the pricing was very reasonable for the area, and the portfolio of cake designs were impressive to say the least. Lauren gets to know each couple and helps them to select the best design for their wedding. The contract and design process is very simple and straight forward. There are no hidden fees! Her manager, Marissa was the best. She followed up with me during the process and made certain that we were still on schedule and/or checking in to see if we wanted any changes. On the wedding day, the delivery was timely, quick and efficient. A wonderful and professional set up! 5 stars out of 5

Lauren and her team do some fantastic artistry if you want a really wild grooms cake, from buildings to animals to food items, she can recreate anything in cake form. We didn't do a grooms cake, but picked her because of her fun personality and the fact the taste of her cake and filling were phenomenal! Everyone at our wedding commented on how great the cake tasted. My husband cannot wait until our year anniversary so we can cut into our saved cake and I hope to use her again for other events in the future.

We had so much fun during our consult with Lauren! She was so friendly, and understood our vision almost instantly for the bridal cake. We were unsure of what we should do for the grooms cake, and she immediately starting sketching the most perfect idea! The cakes were all so delicious, it was hard to decide the flavors we wanted. I initially thought that we were getting a ton of cake in comparison to the guest count, however, ALL the cake was gone by the end of the night! It was a huge hit, we are so glad we chose Lauren!

As you can see by the flood of reviews, Lauren and her team are truly special! From our very first meeting, she was so fun and easy to talk to- she made me even more excited about my wedding than I already was! I wore a pale pink wedding dress with ruffles on the bottom, and I wanted a cake to match. Not only did Lauren PERFECTLY capture my vision, the cake was sooo delicious- definitely not your standard wedding cake! I can't wait to eat our frozen pieces in a few more weeks : )

Lauren was amazing! I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted - just had a few things I liked in mind and a picture of my wedding gown. She worked her magic.... she looked at the picture and designed a PERFECT cake for our special day. It was 5 tiers of yummy goodness..... her Irish Creme with English Toffee couldn't have been more luscious! No hassle, spot on design, and just a FUN person to work with. LOVE LOVE LOVE her!

For my grooms cake I decided on a giant stack of pancakes. We put our order through to the Four Seasons, they use Fancy Cakes by Lauren. We set a picture of what we wanted. The greatest thing was the at the cake went above and beyond what I was expecting. It was the most authentic looking giant stack of pancakes with a dollop of butter I have ever seen. My mind was blown, and so were the guests. We go so many compliments about it. If you want a fun or fancy cake I would go through Fancy Cakes by Lauren.

It's hard to improve on excellence! Lauren is off the charts! Not only are her cakes extremely creative, they taste incredible. The cake was so delicious that the guests ate every bite! I wouldn't even think of going anywhere else after such a wonderful experience!

Lauren is everything I could ask for in a cake vendor. She is nice, prompt, has delicious cake, and is very flexible. Due to a missed flight, I has to reschedule last minute and she came in on her day off to accomidate me. I would and have recommended her to everyone I know, and am so excited to see and taste our finished product.

My only complaint was that there was too much cake and it was soooo delicious that i couldn't stop eating. So basically, I have no complaints. Lauren was super sweet and great to work with and the cakes were beautiful. The grooms cake which had sushi on it was mistaken for real sushi by multiple people!

Our consultation with Lauren went longer than expected because we were having so much fun chatting with her; she has really great energy and is so enjoyable to talk to. Our cakes were perfect too! The wedding cake was beautiful and the groom's cake, a UT football helmet, was a huge hit with our wedding guests!

Fancy Cakes is by far the place to go for your wedding cake. I loved that I got to sit and have my consultation with Lauren herself. At many places I went to for consults I didn't get to talk to the actual baker/decorator. It was a sales person or an assistant. Lauren made me feel like my idea for my cake was the most awesome idea she had ever heard. She's so enthusiastic and really loves what she does. But Lauren is busy, so you more than likely will keep in contact with her office manager after the consultation. Which is fine because she is just as sweet and professional and Lauren knew what I wanted firsthand. I went by the office to drop off my cake topper and make a few changes to the cake and although Lauren was with another client, she made me feel like I was a priority, gushed over my cake topper, and said she loved my changes. She's won many awards and whenever you meet her and taste her cake, you know why.

The champagne cake is the best cake I've ever tasted!! We got our wedding cake and groom's cake from Fancy Cakes, the groom's cake was the hit of the reception! It looked exactly like an old school Nintendo complete with controller and duck hunt gun! It was amazing, some of our guests asked if it was a real Nintendo, they couldn't believe it was a cake! On top of being the two most amazing cakes I have ever seen, they were delicious! Our wedding cake was champagne cake with a raspberry filling and butter cream frosting... Yum!!

She is such an pleasure, and her creativity is outstanding. I told her what I wanted my cake to look like, and she drew it, and then brought the EXACT cake to my wedding. Beyond pleased!!

Lauren and her team were extremely helpful in giving us ideas about our perfect wedding day cakes. My groom had one non-negotiable, and that was what he wanted his cake to be. When I agreed to that I didn't realize he would want a very specific, intricate, cowboy handgun. Upon presenting the idea to Lauren she didn't even flinch. She was immediately excited, told us she would research the exact type of gun he wanted, and on the day of our wedding if I hadn't known it was made of cake I would have thought it was the real thing just enormous. Her cakes are fantastic and they taste as good as they look. She is completely honest about what will look and taste good together, and she won't let you leave with an ugly cake. I would trust her with my cake again and again!

Lauren is the absolute best! From our first meeting with her to delivery our cake, she is the nicest and most caring person! We went all over town looking for a someone to make my groom a Batman cake, but no one could do what we wanted, until we met with Lauren. The excitement she had when just talking about the cake made us have to have her make it. She did everything she could to fit our budget, but went above and beyond our wildest expectations! The Batman cake was so realistic and so much more than we asked for that I literally almost cried when I saw it and could not stop hugging her! That cake made my groom so happy and was one of the best parts of our wedding! We can't thank Lauren!

The cliche about wedding cakes tasting bad - ends here. Many of our guests actually commented it was the best cake they have ever had.

Lauren worked with us in creating a cake that matched our vision. The office was flexible & easy to work with!

I loved my experience with Lauren! The cake testing was so much fun. Lauren is down to Earth and so easy to work with. She will listen to you and create the exact cake you vision on your wedding day. She did an exceptional job on my wedding cake. She created a replica of my grandmother's wedding cake from 1946. It was so special to me! Not only do her cakes look good, but they taste even better. My wedding cake was amaretto with toffee crunch filling, and people are still talking about it a year later.

Best cake I've ever eaten!!! We had a traditional wedding cake with buttercream icing. It was absolutely delicious. The grooms cake was chocolate. It is a must if you love chocolate cake, so rich.
Lauren skecthed our cake designs and the day of the wedding it was exactly like she had drawn, no surprises.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Lauren and her bakery. We were able to email her and get a consultation booked the very next afternoon, immediate responses. At our consultation, we got to meet Lauren and she is absolutely hilarious. She is extremely easy to work with, receptive to new ideas, beyond creative and artistic, and really funny. My husband and I had a BLAST. We had an 'Irish' theme (my husband proposed in Ireland and we got married St. Patty's Day weekend). We had a traditional wedding cake and a groom's cake, and both were FANTASTIC. The wedding cake was everything I dreamed of- my husband was adamant about not having any fondant and no ribbons on the cake, and Lauren managed to use white chocolate (with food coloring) to wrap around the cake so it looked like a ribbon but was completely edible (and delicious). She did a gorgeous white paisley pattern that was so delicate and beautiful- I just loved it. The groom's cake was better than I could have pictured. My husband wanted to feature traditional beers and whiskeys of Ireland- we gave Lauren some really obscure whiskey names (only available in Ireland) and she was able to find pictures of the bottles and did exact replicas of them on top of the cake. Plus, the cake tasted amazing! I got many compliments on it from our guests. Her prices are extremely reasonable- my dad was VERY pleased with her pricing as everything else for our wedding was over budget. AND, to top off the whole thing, Lauren is willing to make you a new cake for your 1st anniversary, so you don't have to eat year old frozen cake. Perfect experience- no complaints or cons whatsover.

We LOVED our wedding cake! I came into my meeting with Lauren, knowing that I wanted something elegant and wintery and she ran with the idea. We had a beautiful cake with cascading snowflakes running down it. They guests all loved it! And it tasted delicious, too :)

Fancy Cakes by Lauren was extremely easy to work with! My daughter didn't really know what she wanted but had some random thoughts. We made an appointment for a tasting and to see what we could come up with. The cakes were delicious, with many choices of flavors. My daughter then described to Lauren some ideas of what she wanted, which was a burlap and lace theme, and Lauren sketched a cake while we were there, based on what was described to her and the number of people. We also needed a groom's cake. A firefighter cake of some sort was needed and the first idea would have been very expensive-and Lauren told us that, so we came up with something else.
When we walked into the reception the night of the wedding, we were overwhelmed with how beautiful the wedding cake was, as well as the groom's cake!!!! The wedding cake had 5 burlap trimmed layers. The icing copied the lace on the wedding dress (a picture of the lace was sent to the bakery) and had the bride and grooms initial piped onto one of the tiers. The florist placed flowers on the cake. The firefighter cake was very nice. A replica of the groom's helmet was on top and a replica of his station number was on the second layer. After the reception, there was no leftover groom's cake, and just the bottom tier of the wedding cake! We received so many compliments on how beautiful the cake was and how good it was!!! People sending me pictures of the wedding always sent pictures of the cake!! I would highly recommend Fancy Cakes by Lauren!!!

Wow! Lauren provided the cakes for our daughter's wedding. They were absolutely delicious and not to mention beautifully decorated. I had so many compliments about the taste of the cakes. Lauren was so wonderful to work with and her design for the cakes was perfect! She is very talented and if I could give her 10 stars, I would! She is awesome!

Lauren is one of the funniest and nicest people in this business. We met with tons of cake designers and they all made beautiful cakes. But, Lauren was such a pleasure to get to know, so funny, so nice and listened to all of our crazy ideas. She took our crazy grooms cake and made it spectacular.

Lauren did both my wedding cake and our groom's cake. They were both outstanding...in fact, we only had enough leftover for a few slices Sunday. Her creativity is outstanding. She worked with me to get our cakes exactly as I had envisioned them. I feel like I made a good friend in the process. At one point, I changed my mind on a few of the layers decorations. She changed them with no problem. I couldn't have been happier with how our cakes turned out. It's up for debate whether they looked or tasted better. Couldn't have been happier. Love you Lauren!!

A rating of 5 is not enough for Lauren. She was magnificent. The cake looked beautiful and tasted even better. She did not try to sell you on any design, but let you decide what type of design you wanted. The cake tasted awesome. We had many complements on the cake. The cake designer did an incredible job! I didn’t want to touch my cakes because they were unimaginably perfect. Aside from the looks, anyone who didn’t taste them was missing out. I usually am not a big cake eater, but I was able to enjoy my wedding cake for many days afterwards! I loved every single detail, every pearl, every piece of lace, and I loved the theme on Wes’s groom’s cake!

Lauren is so much fun! Such a great person to work with. I had a great time meeting with her and talking to her. She was able to take my vision and turn it into my dream cake. The flavor was perfect, the consistency of the cake exactly what I asked her for. The colors were beautiful and the design perfect. It was absolutely what I wanted and more. My guests loved it and I have plenty of pictures to keep that memory! I can't wait to eat the top of the cake on our anniversary!

Fancy Cakes By Lauren did an amazing job with our wedding cake and grooms cake!! We had no clue what we wanted and when we went to meet with her, she totally gave us so many ideas!! We were so happy that we were able to stop our hunt for our cake baker when we met with Lauren. She was so laid back and any questions that we had, she was always willing to help us out! We even got to see our gooms cake toppers (a little yorkie and bichon made of rice krispie treats) a couple of days before the wedding. They were so awesome and adorable!! All of our guest loved the cakes and the taste was so yummy!! We would recommend her to all brides and grooms who want the best!!

I wanted a very detailed cake and I had already met with one vendor that said it would be to hard to do. So, I found Fancy Cakes by Lauren. When I met with Lauren she loved the picture of the cake I showed her, and said she could do it! She was so excited about doing it and thought it would turn out beautiful. And, it was beautiful! Lauren was amazing. She's got a great personality, she's easy, talented and very artistic! She has ideas you'd think she'd been thinking of for months but she has them within seconds of you telling her what you are looking for! My cake was darling, just like I wanted. Even better was that my husband had seen a groom's cake he wanted in a picture. I drew the picture, scanned it and faxed it to her and she made the actual cake for my hubby right from my crummy drawing! It was perfect! I can't honestly say I remember the cake, I didn't get much expect what my husband shoved in my face but my guests all loved it!

I fell in love with her style first by the website and she was able to draw up exactly what I described to her in no time. When meeting with her, the cake tasting was wonderful; not only did she provide lots of options she was able to come up with ideas to fit my style. She was able to work great with the florist. I especially wanted tuxedo strawberries and she provided a very affordable way for me to have them for the grooms cake. This company seemed very organized as I called a few times with questions as what to do with my monogram cake topper, and changing my mind...

Absolutely loved our wedding cake. I couldn't make up my mind between a traditional white cake or a UT tower cake. Lauren was able to bring both together in a fantastic way. Not only did it look amazing but it tasted great. With Lauren's creativity this was a unique cake just for our special day.
In addition, the Fancy Cakes team was quick to respond via email to my questions leading up to the wedding day. Excellent vendor!

It seems like Lauren can do just about anything and at a fantastic price. VEGAN wedding cake? No problem. Super fancy design you found in a magazine? No problem. You forgot to save the top tier and now you need another one? No problem.

Everyone was really impressed by how delicious and beautiful our cake was...and we went with our most inexpensive option!

I had my wedding cake done by Fancy Cakes by Lauren. Our cake was very elegant, white cake with german chocolate filling, buttercream icing and designed exactly the way we wanted it. During our consultation Lauren was able to sketch out every detail that we wanted and even at times when we became confused she offered suggestions to make things easier. My husband and I would highly recommend this vendor if you are in the Dallas/Fort Worth or surrounding area..

Lauren provided our cake through the Four Seasons. The cake was beautiful and delicious. We received several compliments regarding the design. Pricing came out a little more expensive than anticipated, but it was a beautiful cake.

Our cake turned out just as planned, and the on the wedding day it tasted just as good as it did the day of the tasting. Lauren’s recommendation to use real flowers vs. icing flowers was perfect! There are lower cost vendors out there but you’ll get your money’s worth from Fancy Cakes.

I loved working with Lauren and Claudia from Fancy cakes. Lauren's cakes are not only beautiful, but they are also delicious! Although we barely got a bite on the actual wedding day, my mom had saved us a few pieces for after the honeymoon. A week and a half later, the cake was still really moist!

Lauren has some amazing flavors, we did orange cream for the main cake, and chocolate for the groom's cake. And what I love is that she uses molding chocolate instead of fondant, so every part of the cake is delicious.

We loved our cakes!!! I had to get a grooms cake for my husband of his dog (they are attached at the hip!) and Lauren pulled it off great! We had seen her before on Food Network and met her at a bridal show and she was just so awesome. We had a ton of fun tasting cakes and finally deciding on the flavors we featured at our reception. Our guests raved about the beautiful, tasty cakes!!

Everyone raved about the cake! She was really easy to work with and located close to our house which was a bonus. She was referred to us through the Dallas Renaissance Hotel. If you have your reception there they include the cost of the cake in the per plate price. If you want to get fancy with designs it will cost you extra out of what you pay per plate but still very reasonable! We only had to pay for our grooms cake.

The bride's cake was designed to look like my wedding dress, and it came out beautifully. For the groom's cake, Lauren did a Notre Dame football helmet that looked simply amazing. The cake itself was so delicious! We also had an excellent cake tasting with plenty of flavors, and it was very easy and enjoyable to work with Lauren. We will definitely have her do an anniversary cake for us next year, and we have already recommended her to multiple friends.

Lauren was amazing! Her cakes were by far the most delicious in Dallas! She let me have as much creative control as I wanted, and when I drew a blank, she knew just where to pick up! Her laid back attitude took so much stress off of my decision. We went to almost all of the major Dallas cakeries (Romanos, Petit Four, Frosted Art, etc.) and Lauren's talent and taste blew the competition away for the price! Wouldn't have changed a thing!

The cake from Fancy Cakes by Lauren was absolutely beautiful, and the flavor was great. The only reason I could not give full stars is my cake topper. I had a custom cake topper dropped off a few weeks before the wedding. To my disappointment it was laid out in front of the cake, with the top of the cake only having flowers. If it were an issue to mount it, I would have liked to have known in advance. Otherwise, the design was exactly as I was expecting.

Lauren with Fancy Cakes by Lauren is the Food Network Star who competes on all of the cakes challeneges. That being said, Lauren in extremely busy! I personally met with her during our cake tasting. She was available to offer advice and discuss what our cakes would look like. Lauren came up with the design for the bridal cake, and we told her we wanted Texas A&M Kyle field for the grooms cake. After our inital consultation, Lauren was a no show. Lauren was always out of town-understandably, never able to come to the telephone for questions or concerns and definetely not able to meet in person. I was very nervous that my vision for our wedding cakes would not turn out the way i had hoped, but everything turned out fine. Our cakes were gorgeous and tasted even better! They were so moist and delicious. If you are a bride that needs to speak with your vendors constantly, then Lauren might not be the person for you, but if you can trust in her work and staff then I would totally recommend Fancy Cakes by Lauren! Thank you Lauren and most importantly Lauren's staff!!

Fancy Cakes was a vendor that I didn't choose; they were part of my package with my reception venue. I was very happy with the planning process with Lauren. She makes it very easy to design the look of your cakes as well as the flavors. The night of my reception, I was not so pleased, however. The grooms cake looked wonderful and tasted equally as good. The bridal cake also tasted absolutely delicious, but the look was all wrong. I'm not sure if the ribbon color choice was chosen by Fancy Cakes or by the florist (who provided the flowers on top), but it was all wrong. My cake ended up looking like a 5-year old's birthday cake, rather than a romantic wedding cake. Again, I'm not sure who to blame the ribbon on, but the frosting was also wrong. It tasted good, but I would definitely make your wants known.

Lauren was awesome! She listened to exactly what I wanted in a cake and drew up a sketch that I fell in love with while I was there on my first visit! The cakes taste delicious (mine was tiramisu flavored), and her designs are beautiful! Plus, instead of saving the top layer for our one-year anniversary, she is baking us a fresh cake!

Lauren was such a pleasure to work with. I knew I was going to have a somewhat complicated groom's cake and she immediately had several ideas and sketches that matched perfectly what I was envisioning. The wedding cake turned out beautiful as well and both of them were delicious. She was flexible on the pricing as well - initially her estimate was way over my budget but she came off the price some to accomodate me. Overall I was very pleased with everything.

Both of my cakes were awesome! Bridal cake was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. Golf ball groomscake was sooo unique and looked great :) She was so willing to do cakes like we asked and they tasted FANTASTIC.

When planning our wedding, I didn't have anything in mind when it came to what I wanted my cake to look like. Like most brides, I searched through hundreds of wedding magazines and saved pictures of things I liked. I took 6 or 7 pictures to Lauren, and pointed out things I liked about different cakes. She drew up several cakes, and knew what elements of the pictures I brought would look good together. It was perfect... the good thing is that what she draws on paper is amazingly close to what it looks like once the cake is made, so there aren't any surprises on your wedding day. My husband's aunt was supposed to make his cake, and she backed out at the last minute (YIKES!!!)... We called Lauren to see if she could make his cake, and she told me not to worry about a thing. She helped us with a design all our own. My husband wanted cheesecake and chocolate cake, and she catered to his wishes, all at the last minute. She is super bubbly and nice, and was probably the easiest to work with out of all of my vendors. She's a little on the expensive side, but you definitely get your money's worth. Lauren is very professional, and I recommend her highly.

Delicious cake!

Lauren was an absolute joy to work with and did her part to my make my minimalist vision come true. My only frustration was that the delivery didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped and we ended up with a cracked cake. I would still recommend Fancy Cakes by Lauren just stay on top of the delivery!

It was a joy to meet with Lauren from Fancy Cakes and she totally understood the view I had for my wedding cake and made it come to life. On the wedding day, my mind was all over the place and I barely noticed the cake, but now when I see pictures, I cannot help but say, "Wow! Our cake was so beautiful!" It looked absolutely amazing and also tasted great!

I loved our cake! Meeting with Lauren was one of the best parts of wedding planning! She was so easy to chat with and had great ideas...but was very committed to the ideas i had! They were on time and willing to make last minute changes on our grooms cake! Also it was verrrrry tasty!

When we met with lauren she was awesome ! Our ideas were drawn up for us and we were really happy. When I got to the reception site after getting married disapointment sat in. The grooms cake was amazing I could tell it was worked on by lauren herself and it tasted better then it looked! Now my bridal cake had a bitter burned taste on the bottom of it and the colors (black & steel grey)looked washed out. I picked those colors based off of a floral cake she did in those colors. I picked a diffrent design same colors. I was honetly disapointed and a little embarressed because I had talked up my bridal cake. I "knew" it would be amazing and taste just great but it didn't. I am still disapointed because the cake WAS NOT cheap.

In the end we paid a lot for a cake that tasted good, but was not what we asked for. The flavors were, but it was decorated cheaply when we had paid to have chocolate or decorative/edible "ribbons" on the cake, they used real ribbon, which is a bunch of crap. We felt ripped off. Other than that, taste was good.

The bride and groom's cake were artfully decorated. They were pricey but beautiful. I thought for several hundred dollars, however, they would also taste good. The brides cake was dry and did not taste flavorful. I specifically wanted a carrot cake because they are so rich and decadent and I thought it would be different for a brides cake! It was different alright, and we sure had a lot of it left over....
