    Absolutely Amazing

    Full disclosure - our wedding was September 2018, but this is the review we wrote for another review site right after our wedding:
    There are no words to adequately describe our gratitude to Kirsten for her hard work in making our big day not only a success but an enjoyable day for us, our family, and our friends. We basically handed her one of the most important days of our lives and asked her to take care of it all, and she did it beautifully. We would work with her again without hesitation. A true professional, Kirsten didn’t bat an eye at our requests or questions. She was the go-to person for our vendors, which alleviated a lot of our stress with final planning in the last 6 weeks before the wedding. She helped plan all the little details that I had not even thought of (who is walking together down the aisle and in what order, who’s taking care of decor/gift transport at end of night, the whole day-of timeline). She was also the go-to person the day of the wedding and handled several issues, including sewing my husband’s button back on his suit in the middle of photos that afternoon and even gave us a last minute dance lesson and pep talk when we got nervous before our first dance. You will not regret your decision to work with her. She is simply wonderful.

    Kirsten was AMAZING. Hands down the best decision we made in our planning process. At first, I was hesitant to hire a wedding planner, but as the big day approached, I was so happy to have someone to bounce ideas off of and check off the last to-dos on our list. However, on the actual day, Kirsten was on top of everything! She was so organized and had everything ready to go everywhere we went. With multiple locations, I was nervous things would not come together but because of her things were flawless. We received many comments on how impressed our guests were with how smoothly things flowed the night of our wedding - not a compliment you normally hear, but it was so smooth people felt the need to let us know about it! I highly recommend her services! (Thanks Kirsten!)

    My husband and I hired Kirsten and her team for our Oct 2014 wedding. I can say this, GET A WEDDING PLANNER! If you are like me thinking "who in the heck hires a wedding planner" or "only rich people hire planners" I can say this....get those thoughts out of your head. I cannot imagine what it would have been like planning a wedding without the help of Kirsten. She was always fast to respond to emails, willing to give opinions, help with decor ideas, help with pretty much ANYTHING you asked of her. She was there on our big day to deal with anything that came up (I honestly didn't even hear any issues or problems that day) and if we had any she must have taken care of them because all I needed to do what show up and look good! I would recommend her for wedding planning!

    Our wedding coordinator was fabulous! I couldn't have had such an amazing wedding with out her! I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants an organized event coordinator. She gave us great ideas and helped us pull together an amazing event!

    Kirsten at Fab Event Design did an amazing job with our wedding. She recommended some AMAZING vendors and come the day of she had everything under control and the whole wedding was timed perfectly. Even when we told her the week of the wedding that we wanted to do fireworks so didn't even hesitate to coordinate with the firework company and the venue. Kirsten did an amazing job and I HIGHLY recommend her and her team for wedding planning!

    BEST money we spent! I had the opportunity to see Kirsten in action at another wedding - I was sold instantly. We used Fab.you.lous Events for Day of Coordination and were beyond satisfied. I had nothing to worry about because Kirsten was on top of everything. The day was perfect! Thank you!

    Words cannot describe how beneficial, helpful and supportive Kirsten from Fab.you.lous Even Design has been throughout the wedding planning process. I know many couples are concerned about their budget and as a result does not consider hiring a wedding planner - if you are this couple I would truly think twice about this. Kirsten will make sure that you stay within your budget and she truly takes the stress out of wedding planning. I contacted her early in the planning process and from the very beginning she was very easy to work with and would go out of her way to help, support and advise me. During the planning process she listened very carefully to the vision I had for the wedding and greatly exceeded my expectations. She had vendors in mind that were within my budget and could produce what I had envisioned - this saved me hours of searching! She was in contact with all of my vendors so that they knew exactly where to go and knew when they had to be there. She had answers to all of my questions, whether I thought they were stupid or not.

    The services she provided the day of the wedding were impeccable - she arrived at the reception hall early Saturday morning to set up, she then came to the ceremony site to make sure everything was going smoothly and was there to make sure everybody got down the aisle including the flower girl (4 years old) and ring bearer (2 years old). She then went back to the reception hall to complete the set-up before the guests arrived. At the end of the night she made sure everything was cleaned up - she even packed up the decorations and made sure they were in my parent’s car for them to bring home. My parents are eternally grateful for her help - they didn't have to worry about anything the day of the wedding and could enjoy themselves. I didn't have to assign any tasks to family members, which I am very thankful for. Just when you think that was enough, she then had champagne and chocolate waiting in our hotel room when we arrived! After the wedding my parents, my husbands parents, my husband and myself were all raving about the work she did - she is a must have!!!

    My husband and I are so happy we chose to work with Kirsten. When first making our wedding planner decision, we were between Kirsten and another vendor. We went with the other vendor because she had experience with our venues and Kirsten hadn't at that point. We ended up having a terrible experience with the first planner, and went back to Kirsten a few months later and begged her for another chance =) Choosing to have Kirsten involved in our wedding was really one of the best decisions we made. We essentially were planning a destination wedding for all of our guests because we were the only ones who lived in Minnesota - almost every single guest had to travel. I had no other local help, and Kirsten was just amazing. She had very creative ideas for everything from center pieces to place settings to the menus. She even designed and printed the menus and center pieces! Kirsten also had great suggestions on all of the etiquette "stuff" that we just weren't familiar with. She was also great at handling the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom - thank goodness!

    Now that the wedding is done, we're trying to find a good time to get together...she became a very good friend throughout the process, and I hope our relationship continues well past my wedding day. I highly recommend working with Fab.you.lous Event Design!

    Wow, what can I say about Kirsten? She is a lifesaver. I would recommend getting a wedding day coordinator to anyone that is trying to plan a wedding alone. She literally took all the stress away from me the day of the wedding and I know that it wouldn't have run as smoothly as it did without her. I know that her and my husband bumped heads a little, but that is because he likes to be in control too. I told him to just let her do what we hired her for and to relax, which is advise he evenutally took to heart. The day was perfect!!

    Kirsten is wonderful! Best money we spent for our wedding. She is really easy to work with, very friendly, professional & knowledgeable. I would recommend her to anyone! We hired her for 'day of' coordination services and it was great. We enjoyed our day with our families and didn't have to stress about details.

    We hired Kirsten as our day of coordinator and I don't regret it for a minute. She was prompt to return e-mails and calls, had fantastic ideas, and can handle all the little details of any wedding. Although we technically only booked for one day of coordination she met with me on several occasions and was a great sounding board for ideas.

    I did absolutely nothing on the morning of my wedding. Well, scratch that, I drank my coffee, chatted with my mom and bridesmaids as we got ready for the day, and worked on a crossword puzzle. I did not lift a finger with decorations, vendor coordination, or errands. She took care of everything, including driving back to my fiance's apartment to pick up the wedding gift for me that he had forgotten to bring with him!

    She takes a lot of pride in her work and it shows. She loves what she does and every bride gets the same treatment, regardless of whether you select full planning or day of coordination. I recommend her to every bride I know and have heard nothing but complete satisfaction from others. Book her!

    I hired kirsten almost 8 months before my wedding after talking to her at a cafe near my house. She was singlehandedly the best decision I made during the entire planning process. She was undoubtedly, the glue that held my wedding together. During a ceremony crisis and a music emergency she thought on her feet and saved the day. She is a bargain for how much work and effort she does. She is kind and bubbly while still being professional. She is a great personal to work with and made my life so much easier during the wedding process.

    Aside from my photographer, easily my favorite vendor! Early in the planning I wouldn’t even consider the idea of a DOC, but as the day got closer and I got more stressed…it became easier to see the value. After reading several great reviews on her, I met with her and instantly clicked with her. She is so sweet, bubbly, friendly and easy-going. One of the things she said to me in our first meet was something that stuck with me to the very end…that she’d never sent a bride down the aisle late. This was a BIG deal to me. Our ceremony started at 2pm, but we only had that room until 3pm. So, the ceremony HAD to start on time, get done on time and everything needed to be cleared out of there on time. All of that went perfectly. She was such a huge help to Jenny, who was doing all the decorations for the ceremony, reception and doing my bouquets…and that’s not even her day job! Kirsten helped her set up the reception room the night before. She helped offered some help to my Officiant during the rehearsal. She was a HUGE asset on the day itself. She kept constant tabs on all set up, making sure things were where they were supposed to be. She was always checking in with me, making sure that I was going well. She even went to pick up the Subway Party Subs that I’d ordered to feed everybody while getting ready. She kept me calm because every time I asked her about something, she was already on top of it or it was already done.

    After the ceremony, she was a HUGE help. We had planned to head to a nearby park with our photographer, but she did not have any room in her van. So Kirsten grabbed the keys to my car and escorted Russ and I to the park. She was such a huge help to poor DH as well, because his rental shoes had him slipping all over the ice/snow. She helped us stay on task for the rest of the night…when to cut cake, when to start toasts, when to do first dance. Otherwise I would have just stood around and chatted with people all night. At the end of the night after we’d had our last dance, she told Russ to grab me and head up to our room. When we arrived, we found the front room of the suite lit with candles with the fireplace going. When we walked into the bedroom area, there were rose petals in the shape of a heart on the bed and leading across the floor to the Jacuzzi which she had run for us. She’d set up my iPod stereo to play soft music and had run and gotten us a card, treats and bottles of water. All were things that we needed so badly at the end of a wonderful but long day.

    Now that I’ve gone on and on about her, I think you should be able to guess that I would HIGHLY recommend Kirsten!! Russ, my mom, all my bridesmaids and many guests all thought that she was fantastic. Russ and I at the end of the day decided she was definitely money well spent!!!

    I worked with Kirsten of Fab.you.lous Event Design. She was truly a god-send in my planning! I hired her for 'Day of Coordination', she was SO much more than that! She helped me whenever I emailed her with a question, called her, or needed a quick answer. She truly was there for us in every way possible, and supported whatever we needed of her. She put so many special touches on our day that we will always remember. You will not be dissapointed if you work with Fab.you.lous design!

    About two months before the wedding, we decided we needed help for the day with all the small details b/c we wanted our guests to be guests and not ask them to help. I wanted someone down-to-earth and who wouldn't drive me crazy trying to make the wedding something other than the simple, straightforward event that we planned. We hired Kirsten for day-of coordination services and I'm glad that we did. She quickly got up to speed with the plans, helped with the final details and confirmations, and did a great job keeping things running smoothly the day of. While my husband originally bristled at the cost, we both agree that it was definitely worth it.

    This one is tough for me because I was so excited to work with Kirsten and she has such amazing reviews. However, I was really disappointed with the service we received compared to the price we paid. First of all, a lot of the setup and takedown stuff we asked her to take care of we kind of were given the impression that we were putting her out by asking her to do them. I felt guilty about it at first but later was upset I was made to feel like that when that was what we were paying her to take charge of. She got snippy with several of my bridesmaids throughout the day when I’d either send them to ask her a question or when they would try and help (for example, one of my bridesmaids got really upset that she felt Kirsten had yelled at her when she had tried to help pin on the boutonnieres when Kirsten was in a panic to get them all on). Secondly, while I feel a DOC’s job is to try and keep the stress level for the bride and groom at a minimum, Kirsten brought me issues that I don’t feel I needed to know about. I talked DH into hiring a DOC because after all the work we put into planning, we didn’t want to have to worry about everything on the actual day. However, there were several instances where something I wasn’t upset about Kirsten came to me and re-hashed issues that I didn’t need to worry about. She interrupted our pictures in a panic asking where our flowers were, why didn’t we have our flowers, don’t we want our flowers. When I told her they weren’t ready when we came out for pictures so I just didn’t worry about them, she stormed off. Then later she brought out the flowers and proceeded to complain to me about how the florist should have made sure we had them and how they had discussed repeatedly what time things should be places and etc. etc. etc. It really put me off 1) because it seemed really unprofessional to be bad mouthing one of my vendors in front of me on my wedding day and 2) that she was more worried about saving her face then about keeping the day lighthearted and stress free for me. It really gave a bad energy to the picture time only a couple of hours before my ceremony. Lastly, we had specifically worked out that Kirsten would be in charge of take down and that she would take all of the stuff home with her and then bring it back to the hotel to be transferred to our cars the next day so none of our family and friends would have to wait for it. We ended up allowing tear down to start early since most of the guests had left by 12am and Jon and I headed out around this time, too. We found out the next day that she asked DH’s parents and brother to stay during the entire take-down so that she could load stuff in their van instead of having to bring it the next day. I was not super happy that my IL’s got put out and ended up helping with all the take-down so they could go home faster. There was also a mix-up with the guestbook getting transferred from the ceremony site to the reception venue (she had told us to find someone to take it over so I designated DH’s aunt, told Kirsten who would be in charge of it, and then day of his aunt was told by Kirsten that she should leave it and that Kirsten had it on her own list to take care of. The guestbook ended up getting left at the ceremony site and when I asked Kirsten about it later that night since it was never out on the reception table, she claimed to know nothing about it. I don't know exactly what happened and may never know why it got left, but there was a discrepancy in stories). In the end, the day ran fairly smoothly with only a few hiccups, everything got setup and taken-down, and I had a good time. But I probably would have hired a different coordinator if I had to do it again.
