Upscale Service on a Budget

I discovered Expressions when my now sister-in-law asked me to try on a bridesmaid dress there. A few months later, I made my own bridal appointment and was not disappointed. While I thought I had found 'the one,' I needed to go to my last appointment at another salon. The owner and employees at Expressions never made me feel pressured to purchase, and were accommodating when I returned the very next day to try on the same dress and ultimately make a purchase. I also was able to come in almost $1,500 below my budget, even after they helped me add sleeves to my dress. I highly recommend.

Best experience hands down!!!

This was my 2nd time looking for a dress, (my 1st experience was not the best) so I was very hesitant. The entire staff was GREAT. They were very personable, friendly and most of all very knowledgeable. I purchased my dress and bridesmaids dresses. I have several formals to attend...Expressions will be my 1st stop!

Cle Bride by expressions was the most amazing place while looking for a dress. The staff is amazing and super helpful. The selection was great they have many dresses to choose from. They listened to what I was looking for and brought out a few I might like.. I ended up going with one they thought I might like over what I thought I wanted. I still love my dress and am beyond glad I went with them for my needs.

I have recently ordered and received my wedding dress from Expressions, and my experience has been wonderful! From the first time trying on dresses to ordering, all staff there have been so helpful throughout. I worked with Kayla a lot, and she is so sweet and knows her stuff! The location is convenient for me too as there aren't too many bridal salons around. I would highly recommend!

This shop is the best! The owner really takes time to get to know you. She remembered my name and my story nearly 1.5 years after my initial visit! (when I returned to purchase a headpiece!) You cannot beat the personal touch of a small shop!

I had a great time finding my wedding gown. We did not even have a wedding date set in stone, but it happened that my sisters were going to be in town the same weekend so we decided to just go and try some dresses on for fun. After seeing pictures of my dream dress, (they still didn't do it justice) I tried it on June 2015 (a month after we got engaged, early I know) I decided to wait a little bit before I made my mind up, but I just couldn't wait long enough. I went back in October and purchased my dress. Our wedding is June 10, 2017, so I am hoping that no one else has my dress, since I purchased it so early. The staff was AMAZING and comical we had a blast trying on dresses, they made it fun and personable. They helped me find the perfect veil and even gave me a discount :) Great experience!!

I got my dress and veil from here and the girls got their bridesmaid dresses, as well. I really liked every employee I met there. No one was pushy about sales, but they would answer any questions we had. They are responsive to their email and have late hours during the week. I also got my alterations done here and it was much cheaper than I anticipated. I would definitely recommend.

The staff at Expressions help me to find the perfect dress, belt, veil and jewelry! I planned my wedding in less than 3 months and they were able to make it all come together, including ordering me a brand new dress.

The Expressions team is wonderful. I got both my dress and my bridesmaid dresses from there. They were so helpful and friendly. They were willing to work with my crazy schedule and the schedule of my family and bridal party. We had to bring young children with us and they were FANTASTIC with them! Anyone who is looking for affordable dresses and a wonderful experience should use them :)

I found my dress a year before my wedding and the staff was perfect. Being an out of area bride they worked with my schedule and the times that I was coming in to Cleveland for fittings. They also stored my dress until it was steamed and ready to go on my wedding day, I could not be more pleased with the service that I received.

This bridal shop is the best! The manager, Melissa, and the ladies are so upbeat and sweet; they make everyone feel like a million bucks! I am an older bride (58) and wondered how I would feel in a salon with a lot of young girls trying on dresses. I shouldn't have worried at all; it was a WONDERFUL experience! Would highly recommend them!

Salespeople were very friendly and very helpful when it came to finding my dream dress! My appointment ran over the allotted time and even though the store was closing everyone stayed to make sure I was happy with my dress! I liked that they took my measurements, showed me on the designer's chart where I fell, and then had me try on a dress from the same designer in the size I was ordering - I know exactly how my dress will fit and feel!

My experience at Expressions was excellent. They offered me several dress options within my price range and was patient was I searched for the perfect one. I had my alterations and bustle done through Expressions as well and they were executed perfectly. They steamed my dress before the ceremony and it looked great.

My mom and I went to Expressions first when looking for wedding dresses. Unfortunately I was unable to find exactly what I was looking for in my price range, so we ended up buying a dress at another store. After my dress came in, both my mom and I were highly disappointed with the way the people in the store treated us and decided we didn't want to trust them with alterations. So, we went back to Expressions and could not have been happier. I had been so upset with the way the dress originally came in, but the lady working with us on alterations was able to calm me down almost immediately with just a few minutes of pinning. Every time we went into Expressions for the next few fittings we were greeted with many happy and willing to help people. I definitely recommend them for any formal dress occasion.

The team at Expressions bridal in Mentor, Ohio, is great! The shop is small, but the staff is extremely knowledgable and willing to help out wherever they can. The owner was even willing to order my dress in and give me a discount compared to what I was quoted at a larger store in Cleveland! They have in house seamstresses for alterations and they are also affordable.

Expressions bridal was great! I was in a car accident 3 months before my wedding, and was worried about getting fitted and alterations done. They made me feel special and worked around me to get the fitting done. The service was great and everyone there was nice.

I love Expressions Bridal. The people are so nice, patient, professional, and helpful. They have a dress for every bride in their store, no matter what style,size or shape you are. Everyone there is friendly. I even ordered the bridesmaids dresses from there and was very pleased with their service. My overall experience was wonderful.

The staff at expressions were so nice and helpful. They never rushed me or tried to sell me on a dress that I wasn't sure about. Also, the alterations woman who works out of there was very nice and patient, and did my alterations for a reasonable price.

This place was awesome!!! This place exceeded my expectations a million times over. The ladies there were so nice, friendly and fun! The don't work on commission so they are not pressured to make a sale. I had such a pleasant experience each time going in the showroom, I would definately go back for any formal wear purchase. The prices were reasonable considering I purchased my wedding gown and two of my bridesmaids dresses from them. I love the communication and ease they made the whole process for me. I was please with the selection of dresses that they had to choose from even though I bought the second dress I tried on! Can't wait to do business with them again!

I had a wonderful experience at Expressions from the very beginning. I tried on several dresses at different stores and they did not make me feel pressured to choose them. My maid of honor and I really enjoyed being able to browse the store on our own and pick out as many dresses as we wanted. They also pulled a few that they thought we might like. In the end they had some of the best service compared to the other stores I looked at. They also had a large enough selection to find something without being too overwhelmed by the number of dresses. They ordered my dress and it was in within a week of their estimated time. I tried it on several times and I also did my fittings there which was nice because I liked having the dress in the same place. Right before the wedding they steamed it too! The whole experience was fabulous. They were professional and courteous during the whole experience! There were lots of hugs at the end!!
I was not able to get my bridesmaids dresses there because they did not have any of the 5 we wanted to try on from Alfred Angelo so we went elsewhere for those. They would have been able to order them but we wanted to try them on first.

Great job to all the ladies at Expressions!!

I found the most beautiful wedding gown at Expressions Bridal. I was looking for the perfect gown and on whim I happen to drive pass Expressions and decided to turn around and check them out, but I saw a sign saying that you need a appointment to be seen and I said to myself I'm going in any way. The staff greeted me any way without an appointment. I was so impressed with all of the gowns that they had in the store. The staff made me feel very relaxed,comfortable and at ease about what color, style,design of gown that fit my personality and my body. Thanks to all of the staff at Expressions Bridal& Formal for all of your service that you have provided for me and most of all thanks for making me laugh, because I needed that the most.

Now that I have that out of the way....

Expressions Bridal and Formal was one of the best decisions I could ever have made as a bride. I was married on July 2, 2011, but my journey with my dress began back in September of 2010. It was there that I met the owner, and also when I met Denise. Trying on dresses is stressful, there are times when you want to cry because the size 0 sample barely fits over your rear or other times when that big poufy princess dress does not look right on your 5'4" frame. Yet, when you know its the one, it really is.

I bought an Essense of Australia dress from this store and it was the one piece I wore that made me truly feel like a beautiful bride. The staff even sighs when they know its the one (they see it on your face!) But, aside from the unbelievably beautiful attire they have for brides, maids, and mothers, they also truly cater to making the bride feel special. Upon entering the store the girls would actually KNOW my name. They would celebrate my excitement and also help me with any problems. Alterations are also available in house and were unbelievably reasonable! The steaming service was phenomenal and completely prompt. Brides - if you want the perfect dress, the most personalized service, and the beginning of your adventure with your dress to be one in a million - than this is where you head.

To the gals in the store - thank you for all you have done for me in helping provide me the perfect dress!

Expressions Bridal went above and beyond for myself and all my bridesmaids. They got everything in on time, even though we ordered the girls dresses late. The sized everyone prefectly... most only needed hemmed. The seamstress was awesome and a quick turn-around time!!!
My dress was unbelieveable. They gave honest opinions about each dress I tried on and would spend hours with me everytime that I was there. I even got my shoes from there... the dye job matched my off white dress perfectly!!! I had such great service there, I ordered my bridesmaid dress for a wedding Im a part of in September from there!!!

Excellent service!! I love this little bridal shop as opposed to the big chains. The staff was fantastic and very upbeat. The lady helping us try on dresses was very helpful and ready to bring over as many dresses as I wanted. I went in for their $99 gown sale and got my dress for just that!! But, even still, I don't think I saw a dress in there that was over $1000. Dresses were beautiful and I had so much fun trying them on! Alterations were reasonably priced and done very well. I would highly recommend this store to anyone!

This was the first bridal shop I went to and I fell in love. The big David's Bridal and Catan's just didn't do it for me after the personal service I received at Expressions. The helped me try on 14 dresses--I picked 4 that were my "favorites" and went in 2 times a week for several months to try them on so I could make my decision. Once I chose a dress, I ordered it (almost 1 year from the date, give or take a week or so). The expected delivery date was 6 months--it took almost 9 for it to come in. When I called Marcy in a panic because my dress hadn't come in, she assured me that it was coming, and took the initiative to call the company every week until it was delivered! They are awesome!

They are great! And you can't beat the price--I got my dress for $100 off the marked price during a sale they were having. $100 can make a big difference to those on a budget. Their staff were very courteous and alterations are included in the price. When I got my dress it fit perfectly! They will press it right before your wedding and have it back to you within 48 hours. I tried my dress on at another location as well but chose Expressions because they had a great deal, a great location for me, and great customer service.

I had a FABULOUS experience here and ended up purchasing my wedding gown from Expressions! I thought I had found my dress at another bridal salon, but since I was in the area I decided to check this place out! Tai was the lady who helped me through the whole process and let me tell you she was amazing!! Work with her if you can. She was never pushy, always helpful, honest and ended up coming up with a great suggestion of how to customize my gown,which I ended up doing!
At my first appointment, I ended up falling in love with a gown! It was absolutely gorgeous and eventually became the gown I ended up buying. Tai let me try on quite a few dresses and really worked with my budget and what I dreamed of wearing. Since I wanted to think about it, I ended up not buying on that first appointment. After a couple hours, I knew that was the dress!! I could not stop thinking about it! We easily set up another appointment to come back and purchase it! They have you take a picture with a sign saying Yes to the Dress!! It was really adorable. My gown came in time and I also got my alterations done there. Prices were great and the seamstress makes sure to get you done in time and does a really great job for an awesome price.

The store itself is very neat and the staff know what they are doing. There are tons of designers and options along with gowns at different price points so there is something for everyone.

After shopping all across northeast Ohio and parts of western PA to find bridesmaids dresses, we found Bridal expressions in our own back yard. We had a difficult time accommodating very different body styles. I booked appointment after appointment for my sister (my MOH) and watched her be ignored or mistreated. It was awful and heart breaking!! Then we came to bridal expressions where they were attentive and kind!!!! Top notch sales staff!!

I loved Marcy and her crew. Denise made me feel so comfortable as I was trying to find my dress. They had plenty of options and I found exactly what I was looking for. They are also very respectful of budgets and work well with timeframes considering I lived out of town. I also ordered our bridesmaids dresses and my mothers dress through them. Highly recommend this for bridal dresses

We had a few snags at the very end of the process, but overall, owner Marcy and consultant Casie were fabulous to work with. I went in with quite a crew - my future mother and grandmother-in-law, three bridesmaids, my grandmother, and a bridesmaid's daughter and her friend. Casie and the crew saw the need and moved us to our own area on the back side of the store - and it could not have been more perfect. We had lots of room to spread out, lots of room for fun! Casie brought me a variety of dresses and when she pulled out the Mori Lee that turned out to be The One, she was absolutely right when she said "they're going to love this one!" I had the moment - the one with the gasps and tears - and Expressions helped make it even more special. My mother in law brought champagne and glasses and - contrary to company policy - the staff let us drink it in celebration (away from the dresses of course!) It was a great day, a great moment - and was that way because Casie and her crew made it so. Things get crazy in the wedding world, so it's in your best interest to keep on top of your dress' progress - but stay on top of everything and everyone - that's not a knock on Expressions - just the reality of the wedding industry! Expressions was the fourth dress shop I visited and is where I found my dress for the big day. I thought I knew what I was looking for, but the staff was very helpful and without them I would not have found the perfect dress. I never would have picked the dress off the rack, but they insisted that I try it on anyway and I fell in love when I saw myself in it.

Absolutely wonderful to work with!!! I mostly dealt with the owner of the store and she is absolutely phenomenal! Depending on what you are looking for, can get a little pricey. However, the service makes up for any extra cash spent! I would recommend this vendor to anyone. Used Expressions to purchase my wedding gown and all 5 of my bridesmaid gowns.

I was so impressed with Expressions. I was able to look at as many dresses as I wanted and the women there were so helpful and great to work with. They helped me find dresses in the styles that I knew I liked, but also offered me some alternatives, just so I wasn’t limiting my search. I had a great time trying on dresses (and this is from someone who hates shopping simply because trying on clothes is so annoying) and I found the perfect dress on my first attempt to start looking to see what was out there. Shopping at Expressions was a great experience and I’d definitely recommend starting your search there (and likely ending it).

I had a great experience here! I went to Pittsburgh first and left a salon feeling like I was walking off a car lot. The girls at CLE Bridal by Expressions had the dress I was on the hunt for and were extremely friendly on the phone answering all my questions before I decided to make the 2 hour drive. They were able to squeeze me in the same day I called, and encouraged me to try on things outside of my comfort zone, which resulted in fun and laughs. I was nervous I'd fall in love with something outside of my budget, but ALL of their dresses are extremely affordable. I said yes to the dress I ultimately went there for and I am so relieved! I can't wait for it to get here.

I loved the service and friendliness of the staff. The consultant had me laughing most of the time. I went to one of the "running of the brides" sales and found my dress after they added sleeves to it. I would definitely recommend this store to any bride, especially if you are on a budget.

I was very happy with the service I received. My gown is gorgeous! My bridesmaids Also purchased there dresses there. There were some issues with the fit of the dresses after they arrived. The bridesmaids were measured by Expressions staff, but some of the dresses were snug and didn't have much room for alterations. We did not have alterations done at Expressions because the prices were high. Otherwise, I was happy with the dresses.

Some of the staff is excellent, and some of the staff is not. When I first went in I had Denise who was so full of energy and a joy to work with. I felt like I was actually on Say Yes to the Dress. She asked me what I liked and didn't like and continued to pull dresses for me. I didn't have to lift one finger (other than trying on). I left without a dress that time as it was my very first time every trying on a dress and I wasn't ready to commit. The second time I went back after having a horrible experience with David's Bridal. I don't know who my consultant was but she was not very helpful. I did end up finding a dress I fell in love with but had to come back to get my mom's approval! The day I came back with my mom we had Carol (I think) who went above and beyond as well. I was there to try on one dress but she put me in more so my mom could compare (She had not gone with my any other time due to our busy busy lives). It was nice that even though I wasn't scheduled for a full appointment she made time, she even let me go over informing me she would have to tend to another bride. Great customer service!

I got my bridesmaid dresses from expressions but not my gown, I got my gown at David's Bridal. But I really wanted Alfred Angelo bridesmaid dresses and expressions was the closest shop to me that had them. They made it really easy for me to order dresses for all my out of town bridesmaids. I did have to keep calling to check up on delivery because they were later than expected. You just have to allow plenty of time for these special orders. The staff was friendly.

Great experience picking out my dress but when I tried to find out the status of my dress they would blow it off and tell me it was too soon. When I finally got my dress I tried making a fitting appointment they told me I couldn't get it fitted as early as I wanted because most brides want their dress fitted later and made me make a later appointment.

My initial thought of this shop was negative due to a comment made when I first walked in. I only had two and a half months before my wedding and I was told that I "should" have started looking six months ago. I was only engaged 3 months ago. I would have walked out but my sister and my mom were there to help me navigate the tons of dresses. Turns out that the salesperson finally was able to find a dress for me that I totally fell in love with. It was a beautiful gown that I bought off the rack. Then the alterations went perfectly. Jo was amazing and so wonderful to work with. She made the rest of the experience amazing. Thanks Jo.

Melissa is the go to girl!Went back to try on one of my two favorites and found it on the off the rack! It was half price! I have no regrets it was "my dress". Seriously, ask for Melissa or even better call and find out when you can meet with her. Any other even the manager was a waste of time. She spent half the time on the phone during one fitting and the next visit I had to repeatedly ask for items while the sales lady helped other customers who had come in after me!

I liked the women working at Expressions. My problem was with the seamstress. I was VERY disappointed in her work. She switched appointments on my twice and did not remember when she moved my appointment to. I had to go back twice for alterations when my dress did not need much done to it. On my wedding day I found 6 pins still in my dress and 1 giant safety pin. The girls working there were very helpful, but I wish I would have gotten my alterations done somewhere else. It was not worth the headache.

When it came down to my gown... I had no issues whatsoever. My dress was beautiful and delivered on time. It fit great too! I had 6 girls in my wedding... and we had 3 issues with dresses. One came in with stains, one had buttons fall off, and one was improperly fitted by a worker and came in a size too small. It took a little bit of fighting to get them to rectify the problems- They have a strict no return policy and they dresses come in with barely any time to order a new dress should something like this arise. Some staff was a little rude... some staff there was very nice and helpful, as you get with any company. If you talk to anyone there, I recommend seeing Melissa! She rocks and is on top of her game and gets stuff done.

Arrival for Dress Not Disclosed until After Paying

How can a bridal store have a no refund policy when they can't even tell you when your dress will arrive until they put the order through? I put a deposit down on a dress and, when I kept stating I was uncomfortable that it would take 6-8 months (wedding is in 7) to get the dress, they said not to worry as most come in earlier. OK, but if not.....? After leaving I couldn't get the notation out of my head and was told they couldn't place the order until Monday (was there on a Saturday), and called Sunday evening leaving a message asking if they could cancel the order since I still felt uncomfortable with the turn-around time. I was told they couldn't cancel it despite the fact they received my message before they opened and placed orders. I was told "all sales are final", in which my response was, "how can you sell something you haven't ordered? Isn't that like going to a restaurant and paying for a meal before you order it?". I was told the charge was already received and, in checking with my bank, did not go through yet despite their claims. I was rushed in an hour to select a dress and when asked to finish looking at the selection was told, "I wouldn't like anything anyways". They ask for 60% down upfront which if you Google 'red flags' for bridal stores says that no more than 50% should be collected. After reviewing my measurements I realized they placed me in a size 4, which is great, expect for the fact the bust is 32 and I'm normally a 38D. Other reviews rated this place poorly stating that incorrect sizing was common and there aren't any alteration services in-house. They work with a lady next store which a lot of people stated was expensive especially because the sizing was off so bad, and practically cost them the price of the dress. I'm not excusing myself from not seeing their, 'all sales are final' portion of the invoice, which was never vocally mentioned and in small print at the bottom of it, but you're dealing with brides who are excited and overwhelmed by the process, and don't even take the time to outline this critical detail? Again, the Google articles all say a professional bridal company should sit down and go through every detail with you upon final purchase. I was rushed out the door so fast my head was spinning to even process all the details. I was in a panic mode because of the timing of the dress which I was immediately told upon coming in, and created a sense of urgency to order that day. I'm so glad that I decided to take my services to David's Bridal as they had literally walked me through every step from start to finish and I left with no questions. The lady told me my dress would arrive in 6 weeks, the alterations lady was on-site already informing me of ideas/cost/time needed, and only had to put 25% down to secure it. How were they able to check all these details on a Sunday BEFORE I PAID but this place couldn't? Mhm. Very disappointing.

Well I have mixed reviews. The people that work there are very rude and will let you wait in the dressing room without asking if you need any help. I found my dress there and it was reasonably priced because I found it on the sale rack. Thank gosh I didnt have to order it, they said 4-6 months is the norm.

I am a little surprised to see such positive reviews, since our experience thus far has been pretty bad. We ordered 5 bridesmaid dresses in early April (for a Sept. 21 wedding) and they still have not arrived. The dresses were promised by August 1st -- which came and went with no dresses. For the past 3 weeks, they have told the bride that the dresses are en route, that they'll be here on Monday, they are in the distribution center and should arrive Wednesday, etc., etc. Now we are 4 weeks past the target delivery date -- still no dresses.

Then yesterday, we were infomed that they do not have a tracking number for the dresses so they don't know where they are. After an email exchange with the distributor rep, at this point it appears that the dresses are still in China and there is a realistic possibility that they will not arrive before the wedding in 3 weeks!

When asked why we were told they were en route when the staff really had no idea where they were, the owner stated she "didn't know why anyone would say that." Overall, the store does not seem to be overly worried/concerned about the fact that our dresses are not here and no delivery date is confirmed.

I hope that I am able to update this post with a more positive review when this issue is solved. But past experience is not giving me much hope. In the meantime, we're trying to figure out a contingency plan in case the dresses never arrive.

staff did not give us the time of day

the staff was incredibly rude. My mom and I went in looking for a dress for her for my wedding, and were made to feel very unwelcome. I’m not sure what made these ladies decide that they didn’t need our money, but we will most definitely be taking our business elsewhere.

I wouldn't never recommend this place to anyone! Worst experience for the bride and us bridesmaids. They do not know how to do their job, and they are INCREDIBLY rude. They measured the bride and 3 out of the 4 bridesmaids wrong! All they care about is the money they make from the dresses, and will give you the WORST experience when it's suppose to be the most exciting time if you life. Stay away!

I went here for my alterations and maid of honor gown because I had gotten my gown in Pittsburgh Alfred Angelo. Well my alterations went well, but when I picked it up the owner was very rude to me when I asked where my moh dress was. My moh called in her order a few days after getting fitted and the woman suggested a size we thought would be too big, but trusted her. She gave them her card in February and they didn't order it until March. I was getting married in August. Well as we waited to hear anything around July, when it should have been in, no one knew where it was or anything! A girl finally said they made a mistake and ordered 12 of that dress and when my moh said if that happened at her job she'd be fired. The woman's response was it was the owner she's not getting fired. The girl was very rude and all we did was order one dress from them. When her dress finally came in, in August a couple weeks before the wedding it was huge! We asked for free alterations for all the stress and the owner gave us free steaming. I ended up taking mine there, but my moh found a girl who we were referred to and did it for 45$ with alterations. I will never go back to these ladies.
