    Curt is the best! He was so easy to work with. He really knew how to get the party going and keep it going. He was also beyond helpful planning out timeline and ensuring that everything ran smoothly. It's amazing how reasonably priced he was. You can tell that he genuinely loves music and loves to have a great party. The photobooth was also a big hit and such a great value. I'd recommend Events Tacoma to anyone!

    I was hesitant to get a DJ for our wedding. We were on a budget and I didn't know what a DJ could do for us that my iPod couldn't. Boy was I wrong, and so glad that we found Events Tacoma.
    Curt met with us at the venue a month or two before the wedding and put my worries at ease. He was familiar with the venue (the Pioneer Park Pavilion I. Puyallup, WA) and had experience designing the speakers to best suit the cavernous building. He also provided and set up high quality mics for speeches, and set up a small speaker for music and the pastor during the ceremony. Best of all was the music. He did a great job of reading the crowd and people were dancing for hours until the wedding.
    Events Tacoma, and Curt exceeded our expectations and at the perfect price. If you're looking for a DJ that is a great value I would highly recommend Events Tacoma!

    I was so happy to have Matt, one of the DJs with EventsTacoma, for my wedding! Matt met face-to-face with my husband and I to review our music playlist and specific moments during the wedding, such as when I walked down the aisle, the first dance as a married couple, the dance between my husband and his mother, and the father-daughter dance. Matt did a fantastic job in balancing the traditional Irish music that went with our theme, and the fun music to dance to for our reception. He also announced all of the events during our reception, which was SUPER helpful because it kept the reception timely and flowing smoothly. More importantly, he was super professional but also personable to our guests; he quickly adapted to unexpected interruptions and was both attentive and flexible to requests by our guests. To top it off, everyone was a big fan of the lighting he provided for the dance floor! Thank you so much to Matt at EventsTacoma for making our wedding a huge success, we could not have done it without you!

    Curt was an awesome DJ. He was very responsive and helpful when creating our reception timeline. He gave recommendations on order and how to save some money (not doing a champagne toast). You could tell he knows his stuff. He was also very flexible when we wanted to add in a toast, skip some activities we'd originally planned based on how we were feeling throughout the night. We got lost of feedback from our guests about how fun our wedding was and I honestly don't think we could have done it without someone like Curt orchestrating the mood and keeping the night moving along. Would definitely recommend him to anyone else!

    Matt did an amazing job as a MC for my wedding and reception! He played the right volume, speed, and mood for each part of the reception. He helped pick perfect songs for the major parts, and was able to select perfect songs on his own for the rest. He knew how to keep the party going and we danced until the clean up crew left!

    AMAZING!!!!!! I was really "selective' with my music and he accommodated every single minute of it. Have referred him to others and have even used him for another event. best.

    We loved DJ Curt and so did our friends and family!! We booked him as a DJ for our wedding in July and he completely exceeded our expectations. We had a budget wedding and booked Curt because he was extremely affordable (one-third the price of other "cheap" DJs we were considering) and also because he was recommended by Manette Gracie wedding planners. I guess we were happily surprised because, as cliche as it sounds, we assumed that "you get what you pay for." Curt was as good or better than other "expensive" DJs I have experienced at friends' weddings & events. He was good because he was on-time, prepared and did exactly what we wanted. He was fantastic because he was fun, had an infectious party spirit and simply knew how to get the party started and keep it going. At first I was a bit mystified. I thought, "He's such a great DJ, so why is he so cheap?" And I think I figured it out: he's just a cool, fun-loving dude and I think he just loves to party, so he works as a DJ to stay young at heart and simply enjoy himself and have a good time! Tight budget or not, I highly recommend booking Curt as your wedding DJ - we loved him.

    OMG, What a fun night. I did not even think many people would dance at our wedding. In our pre-planning meeting with Curt, he discounted the possibility. He said sometimes people only get to dance at weddings, you just have to find a way to ignite the party. We left the playlist pretty open, but Curt still kept the music theme around our requested artists. We originally planned on doing our first dance right after the grand entrance. Curt talked us out of this, saving it for when we do all of the dances. The venue had doors an each end of the dance floor, so he engineered a grand entrance that started with the bridesmaids and groomsmen in pairs, each entering to their own specific clip. This is all building up to our entrance.
    instead of going straight to our dance, he had us tour the room greeting every table. This was so much fun and brought energy to the room. He Emceed the cocktail and dinner hour and was a fun and professional host.
    when it was time for dancing, he switched to mixing mode. Did a great job and kept the party going. Exceeded our expectations in every way. Curt is fun, funny, entertaining, energetic and a must have for any party

    This has to be the best DJ I have ever worked with! Worth every dollar! He rocked it, rapped it and country and even blues it!

    They were great. Curtis was a lifesaver when my original dj canceled on me 3 weeks before my wedding. Anthony was so polite and very respectful. He did great with the music selection and when we wanted to add stuff he was on it with no hassle. I would have been lost without them

    Curt was a great match for our wedding. He plays different instruments so has a very innate sense of good music and timing, he was flexible and wiling to move or do as much as we asked of him. I definitely would rate him higher if I could. Thanks Curt!

    Having not had personal experience in preparing music for an event, I was nervous about the responsibility for "getting it right" and providing a fun and fitting atmosphere for our wedding. I fretted about finding a good blend for the age of the audience; whether the music I would choose would resonate with the crowd in a way that inspires a joyful and active dynamic.

    So we hired Curt Hoagland, and constrained ourselves to choosing only the handful of songs for the actual ceremony. Curt demonstrated obvious expertise in smoothly delivering those on cue, and then managing the music for the remainder of the event using his own sensibilities. I could not have been any more pleased with the result.

    First, he is the consummate professional there to provide a good experience for the client, not using the opportunity to draw attention to himself. He is well-mannered, visible but unobtrusive, pleasant to the guests, and looks the part. He politely engages in conversation if someone approaches with a request, but (thankfully) exercises his own judgment whether that track fits the circumstances.

    In our initial interview, Curt told us he has a knack for 'feeling' what a crowd wants and needs, and constructs the blend accordingly. This turned out to be an understatement. By the time we wrapped it up, there was a genuine sense of having done it justice! In the months since our wedding, we have been told by dozens of people that it was perhaps the most fun wedding they have ever attended. The choice of venue and our collection of friends and family were certainly contributing factors, but Curt made the place vibrant.

    Recommend Curt for a wedding? Absolutely, without hesitation.

    He made the wedding even better! He was alert to what was getting our family & friends up & dancing. Transitions were smooth between songs, the party never stopped. Very reasonably priced, was on time, and awesome to work with. Meet with us ahead of time to get song lists & gave us great suggestions. If you want a DJ who knows his stuff, & is very reliable I highly recommend using him.

    He was on time, extremely helpful, played great music, and kept the party going. We gave him our itinerary and he did a great job announcing what was next and helped keep us on schedule. He knew what music to play to get the party started. I had many guests comment on how good the Dj was. Great value, he had all the equipment, lighting, and microphones needed. I would use him again. You will be extremely pleased if you book this Dj! I highly recommend him!

    What a great experience. We needed an extra sound system, but forgot to mention it to Curt. He is a true professional and had extra gear on hand. He got us set up for the ceremony in minutes and everything went off without a hitch. We had some international guests and they had made a few requests for some Salsa and other latin songs. Curt's music library was amazing and he was able to put up a couple of Salsa mixes on the fly. My grand parents also made a couple of requests, and sure enough, he was able to cover. We asked for a "mash-up" of songs for the father daughter dance and this could not have been done any better. All through the night Curt kept things moving as the Emcee. He really knows weddings, and made the night fun and enjoyable for all that attended. We almost went with another DJ we met at a friends wedding, but his rate was over $1,000 dollars. Compared to Curt, he was boring and did not engage the crowd much. We are so glad we found Curt. We also had the Photo Booth. Debbie was terrific! There were tons props and everyone had a blast.

    Curt did a FANTASTIC job as our wedding DJ last September. He was very accommodating via email and told us exactly what we needed to provide him with. We worked on an extensive music playlist and sent it off to him about a week before the wedding and he had it completely under control! We did not have time to run through the ceremony beforehand with him but it went very smoothly. He was a fun, interactive DJ who helped announce important parts of the evening (i.e. cake, first dance, when the photo booth was shutting down, exit, etc.) and he took requests from the bridal party. For the cost and service, Curt cannot be beat.

    We were leaning towards not having a DJ and just having an iPod set up with someone in control of the music, but I'm really glad we went with Curt instead. This way we didn't have to stick a friend or relative at that station the whole night and we didn't have to worry about someone else making announcements.

    Thank you so much for being such a huge part of our special day we really appreciate it!

    He was very helpful and made the process of creating a playlist incredibly easy. There were a few times that I had a hard time getting a hold of him but he always got back to me within 72 hours.

    Our DJ was the biggest disappointment of our wedding. Curt was great during the planning process, but fairly unresponsive close to the wedding. I had a few specific requests and he missed the mark on just about everyone. Our grand entrance song was wrong, we sat on the dance floor looking like fools waiting for our 1st dance song to start while he was messing around with his equipment and my maid of honor had to go over and tell him to start it. I asked for NO rap to be played and somehow Apple Bottom Jeans and California Love got played. It seemed like every 2 songs were from the same artist and at the beginning I thought that we were having a Michael Jackson dance party since that it the only artist that he played. I will say that the photo booth and the lady who was running it were fantastic. A good value if you have low expectations, but with all of the communication that I provided, I didn't expect him to miss the mark so bad. I should have trusted my gut when I thought that the pricing was too good to be true...
