  Events By Sorrell - AMAZING!!

  We couldn’t have done it without the Events by Sorrell team. Sorrell Downing is the ultimate wedding planner every step of the way. Her organization, vendor contacts and keeping everything on track helped us book a large wedding in 6 months. Sorrell was there each step of the way to coordinate with vendors, the venue and ensure everyone was on the same page. She was open and honest on what we need and what we didn’t need to meet our wedding vision. On the day of the wedding, Sorrell and her team ensured every little detail was perfect and it was. They went above and beyond to ensure the the flow of the event went smoothly. Everyone had the best night. Sorrell and her team are the ultimate team of professionals to make your wedding day a dream come true. She is a calming presence throughout the planning process - Sorrell helped my sister and my best friend with their weddings and she has nailed it every time. She is the most wonderful person inside and out and we couldn’t have done it without her.

  We loved working with EBS for planning after our vendor selection! Sorrell herself is a warm, effusive, calming person who was quite familiar with our wedding venue (Aldworth Manor in Harrisville, NH). Multiple people from the venue commented to us that she is always organized and efficient, which she certainly brought to bear for us. She was always very responsive to our questions, big or small, and helpful in putting out fires / contingency-planning / problem-solving under pressure. For example, our linens didn't ship at all, which she/her team caught several days before our wedding; she found a fix after coordinating with another vendor, and I only found that out after the fact. She also helps keep you grounded and focused on the big picture. I was fairly involved with the process because I wanted to be, but I imagine if you just let her do her thing, it would turn out spectacularly. We loved our weekend, and we are so thankful for all of her help!

  we had the most beautiful wedding all thanks to Sorrell and crew. we lived across the country so we really had to depend on her; and she came through beautifully. everything went as planned, she was so warm and easy to talk to, and we had the best day of our lives!!!

  Kind, Collaborative and an INCREDIBLE eye for design

  Hiring Sorrell was the best decision we made while planning our wedding (save the decision to get married!). She gave us exactly what we needed in the planning process and on wedding weekend: space to engage on pieces that were really important to us and complete confidence that she would take care of the rest. Sorrell’s unique combination of emotional intelligence and organization skills make her THE choice for creating the event of a lifetime.
  
  Not only is she kind and professional, she has deep knowledge of New England wedding vendors and incredible design instincts. We chose a DIY wedding venue, so we had to find vendors for everything (even toilets). Sorrell helped us find partners that fit what we were looking for and fostered an incredible vendor team environment from planning to executing the actual event.
  
  Lastly, she has an incredible eye for design. We wanted an understated aesthetic with lots of color. She brought this to life with beautiful table linens, simple furniture and tableware, and incredible partnership with our florist to pull it all together. She created a tent that felt warm and fun.
  
  We can’t wait to find another reason to throw an extravagant party so that we can work with her again!

  Lakefront wedding of our dreams

  I had the pleasure of working alongside Sorrell as the wedding videographer for a full weekend long lakefront private estate wedding. There was a lot of logistics to juggle and a lot of people to manage, but Sorrell somehow handled it all with grace and a friendly smile. She's an amazing planner, would be honored to work with her again!

  Perfection

  Sorrel and her team are wedding planning / design / day of coordination masters. After this experience, I am certain that she was both integral to the success of my wedding (which was completely rescheduled due to COVID) but also make my celebration more beautiful and whimsical than I could have possibly dreamed myself. To start - she is a design queen. My mountain farm venue was transformed into the most perfect event space. I am obsessed with orange, and she figured out how to make this aggressive color classy (hello tamarind!). Next - she is the master of coordination and multi-tasking. Everything was under control and she was aware of every detail, no matter how small. She not only kept me on tasks for my personal crafting projects, making sure I met the deadlines, but also came to my house and picked up the items I had been storing for the wedding, ensuring that I didn’t have to think about anything other than myself. Lastly - whether it was by text, call or Zoom, she was constantly open and available, allowing me to make decisions which she executed. Look no further than Sorrell. Who after this experience, you will wish she offered Life Coaching ;)

  An amazing wedding planning experience!

  I had the best experience working with Sorrell! She was a lifesaver for me. My husband and I got engaged during during covid and wanted to plan a small outdoor wedding at Aldworth Manor in NH in October. I came across Events By Sorrell and am so glad I did. Sorrell was so helpful through the entire process from helping us find vendors to keeping us on track for each and every step. She was super responsive to my every question and was a calming force when I needed it. She was always so reassuring that everything would be beautiful and it was. Her design work was STUNNING and she made all of my visions come to life and more. She went above and beyond. Sorrell is very detail orientated and was so accommodating to all of our requests. She helped my husband and I pull together our dream wedding in two months. Our guests couldn't believe what we had accomplished in that time frame - you would think it took a full year. Not only is she an amazing planner but also so kind and friendly! We were so lucky to have her. I highly recommend Events By Sorrell. Your wedding day will run smoothly and everything will be absolutely gorgeous!!
  
  Lastly, our florals were by done by Emily Herzig Floral Studio and our photographer was Kate Preftakes Photography who were both SOO talented. Sorrell, Emily and Kate were a dream team!

  I can't say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Sorrell for my wedding. I felt so confident about the big day knowing she was there taking care of everything. Besides being buttoned-up, quick to respond, and incredibly knowledgeable about the whole process, she was just a sweet, fun person to have around me throughout the planning process. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sorrell to anyone and everyone planning an event!

  Wonderful, stress-free wedding day

  We are so happy that we were introduced to Sorrell to support us as a “day-of” planner for our wedding. Living outside the area, Sorrell made the planning as easy as possible for us and was fantastic helping us with all sorts of last minute details including: using her extensive list of contacts to identify a last minute tent for dancing; developing a “day of” schedule of event that she shared with all vendors; providing great insights on seating to maximize guest flow; overseeing the setup of the venue and ceremony; moving all the guests to the right place at the right time; finding us a wonderful musician last minute to provide music for the wedding ceremony; bringing extra baskets to set up for s’mores; and even bringing extra shawls to defend against the cool fall air. Sorrell was so flexible and easy to work with and made our day as minimally stressful as it could have been. Looking back on our wedding day, thanks to Sorrell’s attention to all the details, we can genuinely say that we enjoyed our wedding to the maximum and will think back on it fondly for years to come.

I originally had no idea exactly how to navigate the whole process and I had just been gathering information from various wedding websites. Of all the vendors we hired, the best decision we possibly could have made was to hire Sorrell. She helped us to streamline the process and went above and beyond to make our day absolutely perfect. She didn’t bat an eye when we had to move our ceremony location to a completely new venue with only weeks to spare! I was completely stress free on the day of our wedding, and this was all thanks to Sorrell and her incredibly positive attitude and insane attention to detail. I promise you this will be the best money you spend!

She know the best vendors - you can always trust who she recommends, which was vital to the success of our wedding. I am a relatively selective person, and typically spend a lot of time and effort into picking things out for myself (I read a lot of reviews), and it felt absolutely wonderful that I could just trust Sorrell's choices, and they came out better than expected.
  She was flexible, and always reached out to me when necessary. I didn't feel like I had to be on top of her to figure things out. She reads to what each couple needs, and was accommodating to our style of wedding planning.

  Sorrell is simply outstanding!
  
  We live in Washington State and needed to coordinate a wedding in NH. After interviewing several planners by phone it was clear Sorrell was the most pleasant, hospitable and knowledgeable. Shortly afterward we flew to meet Sorrell and decide on a venue, vendors etc. Sorrell met all our expectations and more. She is amazingly creative and after understanding our desires and style suggested numerous ideas to personalize the wedding to the tastes of the bride and groom. She has a plethora of excellent vendors from which to choose for music, photography, videography, hairstylist, etc and coordinated with each as to our wishes and when to arrive on the wedding day. Prior to the wedding, Sorrell communicated with us frequently and always kept us up to date. In addition she provided itemized bills for ongoing expenses and expected final amounts. She also solved all the small and large issues that pop up planning an event like this, something we simply could not have done without her.
  
  When we arrived several days before the wedding, Sorrell met with us and gave us a complete run down of how the plan was going and how the days leading up to and including the wedding would unfold. It was such a reassuring feeling to know she had everything under control. And when, less than 24 hours before the wedding our daughter considered adding an outdoor ceremony to the indoor one, Sorrell was amazing. She not only took it in stride but had excellent suggestions on how to make it special. We eventually did not take that course but it showed us just how resourceful and versatile Sorrell is.
  
  We could go on in detail but this comment space is limited, and our thoughts would be the same. The wedding, reception and vendors were excellent. Sorrell seemed to be everywhere on the wedding day and her thoroughness and energy ensured we completely enjoyed the wedding without a concern.

  We live in Washington State and needed to coordinate a wedding in NH. After interviewing several planners by phone it was clear Sorrell was the most pleasant, hospitable and knowledgeable. Shortly afterward we flew to meet Sorrell and decide on a venue, vendors etc. Sorrell met all our expectations and more. She is amazingly creative and after understanding our desires and style suggested numerous ideas to personalize the wedding to the tastes of the bride and groom. She has a plethora of excellent vendors from which to choose for music, photography, videography, hairstylist, etc and coordinated with each as to our wishes and when to arrive on the wedding day.   Sorrell was amazing! She thought of every detail and was very flexible with changes. I would HIGHLY recommend Sorrel for any type of event. She is fantastic with flower, and whipped up an amazing display of flowers on just a moments notice.

  Having a wedding planner to help with your wedding is the best thing you can do to eliminate stress. Sorrell is an amazingly detailed planner! She thinks of every little detail and takes care of it so you don't have to! She is laid back and fun to work with and has a great sense of style. Highly recommended!!!

  Have an initial consultation with Sorrell, we knew instantly we wanted to work with her. Events by Sorrell is a fantastic company. Sorrell is easy to work with, thorough and thinks of every little (and big!) detail related to an event. We gave her a very short deadline for our wedding and she made things easy for us. She identified trusted caterers and other vendors including a DJ, tent rental company, florist and photographer. She made detailed to-do lists and kept us on task as we got closer to the day. She provided great suggestions for us to consider including decorations and other details, such as developing a master task list (for the event day) and task delegation. I think most importantly, she listened to what we wanted and made suggestions accordingly that were felt in the tone of the day. She also took care of the table/tent/ceremony décor the morning of our wedding, which was a huge help. We highly recommend Sorrell, and can honestly say she made a big difference. Consequently, we were able to relax and enjoy our own wedding because every last detail had been taken care of by her!

  Sorrell was amazing! She went above and beyond for my wedding. She decorated my venue to perfection and it was more than I could ever have imagined. She will definitely take your visions and make them a reality. I couldn't say enough good things about her. Myself, husband and bridal party all loved her and we would highly recommend her to anyone.

  I cannot say enough great things about Sorrell and her amazing work. My husband and I were planning our wedding remotely and we could not have done it without her. We got married at a private residence so every detail needed to be planned from the ground up. From our first meeting over the phone I knew I had made the right choice. She helped me to find the vendors that were a perfect fit and made herself available to meet on our tight schedule while we were in New Hampshire. She was very conscious of our budget and kept that in mind while making suggestions on vendors, gift bag items, favors, etc. She also helped coordinate our actual ceremony timeline and rehearsal as our wedding was the first our officiant had ever done and we were in need of help on those details. Looking back at the wedding pictures I am seeing even more details that she arranged that I didn’t notice on the day of in all of the hustle and bustle. My husband and I received so many compliments on our wedding and we owe a large part of that to Sorrell. I highly recommend her! She is very detail oriented and so very easy and fun to work with.
