Where do I even begin to write a review for Michelle with Events by Elle! From the moment my daughter and finance got engaged we knew we wanted Michelle to be their planner. We have followed her for years and knew how wonderful she was as a wedding planner. But what we didn’t know until we spent time with her (a lot of time) just how wonderful she is as a person!! From our very first meeting she felt like a new best friend and she made my daughter, her fiancé and myself feel so comfortable and excited for the planning process. She took all of my daughter’s dreams and turned them into a wedding that still to this day we can’t believe was their wedding!!! Michelle truly cares about what you want and with her years of experience she can guide you and help with every single detail. The DETAILS is what I feel sets Michelle apart from many planners. The DETAILS are her SPECIALTY!!!
She designed a wedding for Sydney and Jared that celebrated not only them as a couple but provided an experience that our family and friends will never forget and treasure for a lifetime! We cannot thank Michelle enough all of her hard work and love she poured into my daughter’s wedding! It was PERFECT in EVERY WAY!!!

I cannot recommend Michelle Layman & the Events by Elle team enough!!!!! Not only was Michelle the absolute BEST planner, she became our dear friend. Michelle's experience in the industry is something so admirable. And that's why she is so so so amazing at what she does. Every wedding she has planned is different. She makes sure that the wedding is unique to each and every couple. She makes sure it is their own. Michelle made the wedding planning process so much FUN!!! Man we had a blast. She put in countless hours to make sure NOTHING was missed and no detail was not thought through completely. I cannot thank Michelle and the Events by Elle team enough for making our dreams a reality. It was honestly more than I EVER could have dreamed of. It was the best day of our lives!!! We love you Michelle!!! -

***Long post but 100% worth the read if you are looking for a planner***
Finding Events by Elle for my wedding coordination ended up being by far the best decision I could have made when choosing vendors…. I can’t emphasize enough how worthwhile it was to book them. Michelle has stuck with me through every high and every low these last 4 years. She is a huge part in our incredibly unique but beautiful wedding planning journey.
When we met Michelle in 2019, she initially helped us plan our big 200 person wedding, then 2020 hit. Michelle adapted quickly, getting our big day rescheduled and planning a separate intimate backyard wedding on our OG date. After all of these changes and hard work, Nick and I unfortunately cancelled everything all together due to unforeseen challenges… only 29 days before our backyard wedding. Michelle did everything for me when rescheduling and canceling each one… she not only showed up but went above and beyond to support me when I needed it most. I couldn’t have done it without her. Michelle gives 100% effort in everything she does. Even after so many changes during an exhausting pandemic, she still had so much passion in her work and quickly became someone I could always count on even after our cancelled initial wedding. She felt like more than just my wedding planner, she became a trusted friend and confidant.
2 years later after some time apart and finding solid foundation again, Nick and I felt 100% ready to FINALLY tie the knot ASAP! Michelle jumped to our side right away even with our short 3 month planning timeframe for the April date… Her genuine excitement and support of Nick and I felt so positive and much needed when planning a wedding for the third (yes I said third) time. This time, Michelle made sure we got it done… and worked tirelessly to make sure THIS one was the wedding of my dreams. I have no words to explain the pure joy, perfection, and happiness I felt on this long awaited day. Michelle took a video when I first walked into the venue and the excitement on my face when I run up to hug her says it all. Our wedding day with her as our coordinator was far better than I ever could have imagined. This group of girls only performs with the highest standards, never skipping a beat or leaving any loose ends. Our third time really was the charm.
Thank you events by Elle, Michelle, Jonelle, and everyone else for being by far the most qualified, genuine and hard working wedding planning group in KC!! Not sure what you’re doing if you don’t snag Events by Elle while you can, you absolutely won’t regret it. -

When I got engaged Events by Elle was my first call. I never inquired with another planner, I always knew I wanted Michelle as my planner. My husband and I had a really long engagement, I feel so blessed to have had Michelle there every step of the way. She was there for us not only as our planner, but also as our friend. We'll never forget the kindness she showed us!!
The entire wedding planning process was so smooth. She answered all of my questions, shared lots of creative ideas, and made sure everything ran seamlessly. We couldn't have been happier with how our wedding day turned out. We are so grateful for Michelle and the Events by Elle team for all of their hard work!!
I never thought I would love wedding planning as much as I did. But it was such a fun and exciting time! And I know it was largely due to having Events by Elle on my side!

Working with Lauren V has been the most magical experience I could have while planning a wedding. Lauren truly matched my personality as she was very organized and very detailed oriented. I am a person who plays attention to the details in everything and Lauren just cultivated my wedding vision into reality. Planning a wedding during the pandemic could be extremely difficult especially with having to reschedule to a later date. Michelle and Lauren made everything so easy like pushing the EASY button to have everything just shift 10 months out to ensure we had a safe, fun, and magical wedding. A piece of advice for any future brides, HIRE EVENTS BY ELLE, especially Lauren V, as they will make this process as stress-free as possible. I remember my initial conversation with Michelle, she said hiring a planner is like hiring a best friend to help you plan your wedding. She was right, Lauren V was truly my best friend doing this process - it's more than just planning logistics, it's ensuring you are prepared and supported. -

Our planner, Lauren Voyles, went above and beyond to make our day the most amazing day of our lives! I would recommend this talented woman to anyone. While my husband and I were incredibly excited to get married, I quickly realized that wedding planning was just not my thing. I am not a type A thinker which made planning feel much more stressful than exciting. Lauren went above and beyond to make sure that we did not miss a thing in the planning process for our special day! I have known Lauren for several years which made planning my wedding with her even more exciting. She has become an incredible professional with so much talent and passion for the wedding industry. She maintained professional contact with all my vendors and was able to execute our dream wedding vision to perfection. She always had tons of advice that she shared with us to help us make the right decisions. Not only was she incredible during the planning process, but she was a Superhero on our wedding day. We were able to sit back and enjoy our day knowing that she knew exactly what needed to be done at every step. This lady went above and beyond at every step of the way to show her support and make our day a dream come true. We are beyond grateful for Lauren's friendship & professional planning. Our wedding was a dream thanks to Lauren!
After a rough start and trying to plan a wedding during a pandemic, I reached out to Events by Elle to see if they still had our date open. When talking with Michelle, I immediately felt that she truly cared and wanted the best for us. Luckily one of their lead planners, Lauren, was available. I can’t say enough good things about Lauren. She was professional, calming and worked incredibly hard to make sure our day was perfect. She had excellent communication and was always thinking ahead to things that would have never crossed my mind. Lauren coordinated with our vendors and always had our best interests at heart. She made me feel cared for and supported. We hired Events by Elle for the last 8 weeks leading up to our wedding, but my now-husband and I often talk about how much easier things could have been if we had worked with Lauren from the beginning. To sum things up, Lauren is the sweetest person and our day was an absolute dream totally thanks to all her hard work! -

Incredible Lakeside Pandemic Wedding
I absolutely loved working with Lauren and the EBE team! They were amazing from start to finish. They were so flexible and encouraging with the countless restrictions and plan changes due to covid. Without a pandemic, I couldn’t have imagined planning a wedding without them but with the pandemic it wouldn’t have happened without them. Lauren and Michelle pulled off the wedding day flawlessly. In the months that have passed since the wedding both sides of the family have talked about how much they loved and enjoyed the day (and how much they were able to relax). I can’t say enough about how genuine the ladies were to work with and how much we appreciated having them as part of our day! -

The professional with rich experience, an awesome network, and beautiful virtue
Due to COVID, all the steps to prepare our wedding were delayed. So, when we found Michelle in Mid-August for our wedding ceremony on Oct. 17th,I was overwhelmed. She impressed me with both her professional skills and with her beautifully virtuous heart. She recognized how overwhelmed I was and provided recommendations even before she officially became our coordinator.
During the time I worked with her, her elegance and warmth along with her rich experience and work efficiency brought such a relief, and made the intense preparation process fun.She is patient, a good listener, and was able to quickly recognized what I was looking for - sometimes in ways that were beyond words. After recognizing my needs, she was always quick to respond, connect, and solve the issues. With over 10 years experience inthis industry, she brought with her a rich resource of various vendors and sharp judgment on the arrangement of both the big and tiny aspects of my wedding day. Her excellent coordination helped to make my vision of the wedding day come true. -

The Perfect Match for us!!
The perfect match for us was Events By Elle! To be exact our event planner Michelle was everything we needed in making our 10 YEARS wedding renewal dreams come true. The planning begun over a year ago. The moment I sat in that chair with my husband to meet who our planner was I was amazed. After leaving I said lets finalize the deal and pick her as our wedding planner. Boy was I right on the money! lol, that's an ole southern quote. Michelle not only became my wedding planner she became a friend. I love the way she allow us to be free with what we wanted for our wedding. She wanted the best for us and she knew what we wanted. Especially after learning that I'm a type A kind of lady!! lol, but in a good way! She also never missed a beat when choosing the right vendor for us to pick out!! We got everything we needed with her pick. So if you want a Wedding planner who wants the best for you, she will be just that! If I could do my wedding over I would pick her again and again. I can't think Events by Elle, Michelle enough for all the phone calls, emails, messages, coffee meetings and so on. You are amazing!! So brides out there if you are trying to find a responsible, reliable, and down to earth planner here you go. The perfect match for us!! -

Life Savers!!
Hiring Events by Elle was hands down the best service we hired for our wedding. It was worth every penny! With each meeting before the wedding I felt better and better about the Big Day. In addition to having all my wedding dreams come alive in front of my eyes.. Our parents, my husband and I were able to be guests at our own wedding and enjoy ourselves. We met with multiple even planners after we got engaged but one thing that kept sticking out to me about Michelle was that there really were no boundaries, no matter what questions I had, how many times I needed to meet with her, or emails/phone calls back and forth she was there through it all, which was exactly what I was looking for in a wedding planner. Michelle also asked us questions to get to know us as a couple and not trying to plan right away "what if" situations... She was extremely helpful with each decision that was made throughout our planning journey. Michelle knew what I wanted more than I was even able to describe out loud. She took my random, unorganized thoughts and ideas and turned them into the perfect wedding! We had initially picked out a venue before we met Michelle, but with Michelle's professional opinions and guidance we ended up changing our venue, if it wasn't for her excellent advice and reasoning our wedding definitely would not have turned out as perfect as it did. Not only did she help ease the most stressful parts of wedding planning for us she also recommended the BEST, yet affordable, vendors out there. I didn't have a single problem with any vendors she recommended the entire Wedding Event Crew was incredible and we were so thankful for all of Michelle and EbyE’s help making our day the best it could possibly be! I highly recommend working with Events by Elle and allowing them to turn your thoughts and ideas for your dream wedding into a reality! -
Lucy Sent on 10/22/2017Events by Elle made my wedding vision come to life. I really could have not gotten through my wedding weekend without them. I hired Events by Elle for a three day event. We had a Welcome Reception on Friday, Wedding on Saturday and Sunday we had a brunch. I wanted our wedding to feel like an experience. The Elle girls were put to the test when I shared my "dream big" vision. They constantly worked with vendors in KC to perfect our weekend. No matter what time of day it was Michelle (my wedding planner) was there for me. She has so much experience and I am so thankful for her input. I cannot say enough amazing things about Events by Elle. During our wedding weekend I did not have to worry about a thing and I truly got to enjoy every moment. Not only did I not have to worry about a thing, my bridal party and family did not have to either. Events by Elle took care of it all. To me this was important, because not only did myself and my husband want to enjoy our weekend we wanted our loved ones to enjoy it as well! I have never seen a wedding planning team work so hard. My wedding day it was raining and Michelle was running back and forth in the rain to take our gifts to my dad's car so he wouldn't have to worry about it and could continue enjoying the night. I loved the relationship I created with the Elle girls and I and so thankful we picked them to help plan our crazy wedding weekend! The most talented, caring, hard working, thoughtful and dedicated planners in Kansas City. My husband and I LOVE THE ELLE GIRLS!!!!

Kaitlyn Sent on 10/22/2016I hired Michelle with Events by Elle about 10 days after I got engaged. As and event planner myself, my Parents gift to me was a wedding coordinator. I knew exactly how many details and how much coordination would be required to execute the perfect day and I didn't want to be the one doing any of it. I wanted to be able to enjoy and savor every moment instead of stressing if the cake was on time or the guys tuxs had been steamed. I am a perfectionist and pay great attention to detail and honestly was worried about finding a coordinator who could keep up. Not to mention I was planning the wedding from out of state and would only be able to visit KC twice before the big day. I interviews several coordinators over the phone and after speaking with Michelle I just knew. She was the only coordinator who didn't ask questions about the type of wedding I wanted but about me and my fiancé, who we were, our interests, our lives, and the type of marriage we wanted to have. The entire 9 months of planning, Michelle was always available. She listened to what my fiancé and I wanted and helped us select vendors that could meet our needs and match our personalities (very important). She handled my crazy and kept up with all of our requests. The week of the wedding I felt completely at ease, she had everything down and taken care of. From the begging of the rehearsal on I didn't have to worry about thing. The day of the wedding was flawless, I celebrated and got ready with my bridesmaids and family and Michelle took care of the rest. All that time she had spent listening to me and learning what I wanted paid off. If there were any issues I know nothing about it, she handled them and our day was perfect! I do this for a living and I can 100% tell you Michelle is the only person I would trust (besides my self) to pull off a perfect day. If you want to enjoy your wedding and ensure your guests attend a perfectly executed, amazing party, I strongly recommend you hired Events by Elle! -

went away. They made everything so EASY and I actually had fun in our appointments. When the wedding day arrived I was blown away. It went flawlessly be cause of their timelines but more than that, they handled everything from keeping track of my personal items to getting gifts to the car to bustling my dress. I don't think yhey sat down once. I received so many compliments on the details of my decor. I owe all of those thank you's to Michelle and Jonnelle. They truly made it so beautiful and exactly what I wanted.As a bride, I had no idea what a planner would do besides direct me on what to do step by step and provide a timeline for the wedding.
