    Best experience!

    Where to begin. Ever come across a group of individuals who go from complete strangers to instant friends who feel like family? That’s exactly how the team at Chez Hotel made me feel. If they ever needed me, I’d be there in an instant.

    Planning a wedding is insanity to say the least. But what makes it easier is having someone who will listen and understand what you’re asking for. Everyone there has a “yes we can make that happen” attitude. They’re genuinely kind people working in a not so kind field because wedding planning is HARD.

    Without them honestly I don’t think our wedding would’ve been the way it was. Just a truly remarkable experience working with the team here and I HIGHLY recommend everyone to go check them out and you’ll see for yourself why we chose them and why I’m writing this review.

    For the team:

    Michelle - She’s the best wedding planner/coordinator we could’ve ever asked for. I’m not just saying this. I mean this from the bottom of my heart! The way Michelle handled us with all of our requests is truly remarkable because we were a pain, frankly. She’s incredible at what she does and I hope others get to have someone like her on their side during such a hectic phase! Please go see her and you will not be disappointed!

    Payton - while not our main coordinator, a truly incredible human being who helped if Michelle wasn’t around! Very helpful and caring. Can’t thank you enough for all your help!

    Christina - a very genuine person and honest. This helps a lot when working with a team for so many months planning! We are truly grateful to you and your beautiful venue!

    I would host every event there - the pictures are incredible but go see this place in person, truly magnificent!

    Excellent!

    The Chez helped us make our dream wedding come to life! The Chez staff went above and beyond to make our special day perfect. Special thank you to Krystyna, Payton, and Michelle for all your hard work to have our vision become a reality. Everything was phenomenal! The food was suburb - dinner, sweet table, late night tacos and the beautiful cake! We definitely recommend the Chez to anyone looking for a special event venue! We will definitely be booking the Chez again for future events!

    Beautiful venue with outstanding staff!

    My husband and I got married on October 1st, 2022, at The Chez Hotel. Our experience with The Chez was wonderful!
    We worked with Michelle for the event coordination, and she was amazing! Michelle is professional, kind and patient. Whenever we had a question, she was quick to respond. During contract negotiations, Michelle was fair with the terms of the agreement, and we never felt bullied during our conversations with her. She calmed our nerves leading up to the big day, and made sure that all the events ran smoothly the day of. She is one of a kind, and we cannot say enough good things about her!
    The Chez Hotel itself is also a beautiful venue to host an event. Our guests were impressed with the unique design of the space. In addition, The Chez offers all-in-one packages that include food/drink/décor/etc. By using The Chez for multiple services, we were able to reduce the number of vendors we needed to search for/engage with; which ultimately reduced stress and work for us.
    We would absolutely recommend The Chez Hotel to anybody looking for a great venue to host an event!

    Amazing and Outstanding!!

    My husband James and I had our wedding reception at European Crystal and it was phenomenal!! Absolutely fantastic, amazing, over-the- top, and beautiful service and management! The owner Krystyna went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect for us and our guests! The food was delicious, high quality, and fresh. The room was beautifully decorated, and the entrance/lobby was just so beautiful with the white and black marble flooring and gorgeous grand staircase and gold accents! The whole banquet hall was very clean and had very modern, warm, and elegant setting and architecture! It was picture perfect! Thank you Krystyna, Anna, and Tiffany for making our day perfect! Very highly recommended for any events!!

    The event was magical

    I had my wedding reception at European Crystal Banquets in August 2020. Everything went well given the COVID environment. All the quests were very complimentary of the beautiful space and the delicious food. Everyone had an amazing time. My husband and I are so happy for choosing this venue and highly recommend it.

    I had my wedding reception at European Crystal Banquets on September 1st 2018. Me and my husband met with Anna about a year before and we booked this banquet hall for many reasons - Space - we had around 350 guests which fit comfortably in their Grand Ballroom; I fell in love with the space because of how classy and elegant it looks with the high ceilings and grand chandeliers - Location - we had a lot of out-of-town guests which make this very convenient for our guests with tons of hotels surrounding it - Food and alcohol - we went with the Duet of Filet Mignon and Chicken Christipher; after our wedding, we have received countless compliments from the guests on how good the food was and how we were able to find this venue.
    Thank you Anna, Karen, and the staff at European Crystal for making our special day so memorable!

    I got married July 1, 2017 and I am so happy I chose ECB. Krystyna is such a warm, kind and attentive person. From the first time I met her, I knew I was able to trust her with my wedding venue. Our wedding was 215 people, and we chose the south ballroom. I was nervous about it being too tight, but it was perfect and intimate. Krystyna and Karen made sure everything ran smoothly.

    Food was great, customer service was great, and the best thing I loved is that it's very CLEAN. From the moment you walk in this place stands out. After researching about 5-7 other venues, this place was the best deal over all.

    BEST PART: I was able to set up Thursday morning for m y SATURDAY wedding! This helped a TON that way I freed up my Friday to get other last minute errands done. OVERALL, my husband and I were extremely happy with our decision! You must check it out. The place is so beautiful you don't need much decoration. GREAT VALUE, ELEGANT, CLEAN and SUPERB SERVICE!

    I had my wedding reception on July 29th in the Grand Ballroom with 300 people. We worked directly with Karen and she was nothing short of amazing! The whole night was perfect and Karen made sure everything went smoothly. She was the absolute best when it came to details, planning, and checking in with us throughout the night to update us and make sure everything was going as planned. We had Chicken Christopher with the Filet and everyone couldn't stop talking about how good the food was. The entire place is elegant, updated and the grand ballroom is beautiful. I couldn't be happier!

    We had our daughter 18th birthday and graduation party last July 8, 2017. The service and the food was good. Karen was very helpful and flexible to work with. We and our guest had a good time.

    Our wedding at European Crystal Banquet & Conference Center was last Friday, May 20, 2016. I absolutely LOVED our venue!!! I looked and researched many prior to committing to EC, but I am beyond thankful I chose them. The ballroom is absolutely stunning with the blue sky above. It really helped set the ambiance at our wedding We chose to have both our ceremony and reception there and we could not have been happier. Everyone we have spoken with since the wedding has done nothing but rave about how beautiful the venue was and how fantastic the food and cake were. EC has their own french pastry chef and they created the most beautiful lavender ombre cake I have ever seen and it tasted amazing! It melted in your mouth. The main course was truly excellent! EC has a tremendous amount of options to choose from for linens and decor and they honestly make any cake design you want. They are truly talented! Anna was our wedding coordinator and she went above and beyond to make me the happiest bride possible and since I was out of state planning our wedding, she worked wonders to accommodate us. There is not one thing I would change from our wedding as I am truly one lucky and blessed bride for choosing European Crystal Banquets. Our wedding literally went off without a hitch and I can thank Anna and her team at EC for making this happen. Thank you again for making our wedding day, the most cherished day of my life.

    Just had my wedding at European Crystal Banquets on 5/24/15. The only words to describe this place for my event is AMAZING! The staff was very accommodating and polite. The grand ballroom looked amazing with the up lighting, food was great, and open bar was well organized. Anna the consultant at the venue has helped me the whole way. She was very easy to contact and talk to. She always answered my questions in timely manner. I wish I could relive my wedding all over again because my husband and I are very pleased with how organized it turned out. Thank you Anna and European Crystal Banquets!

    We had a great wedding reception at European Crystal Banquets! We worked with EC for quite a while before our actual wedding day. Anna, our coordinator, was hugely helpful and always responded to our emails and phone calls. The venue was also incredibly flexible, adhering to my seating chart accurately and taking care of all the day-of arrangements with materials that we dropped off. They also accommodated food restrictions beautifully for our guests. The venue itself is beautiful, and what we really liked is that there's technically only two ballrooms, which we thought was nice because we wouldn't have to contend with multiple other weddings. I checked with multiple guests and they all raved about their food and the service. The price was also very good, and the lowest of all the venues we looked at (and we looked at probably 30-40 venues in the western suburbs alone). Anna made our experience perfect!!

    Our congregation has repeatedly hosted our 250-person Passover Sender event at European Crystal, so it was the obvious first choice venue for my daughter's Bat Mitzvah celebration.     We had our baby shower held here on 4/14/13, we also attended many other weddings and showers. European Crystal is simply great. Our guests still rave about their expierience at our shower. As always the food was delicious, and great value for the $. Everything we asked for and were promised was delivered 100% with a smile. Michelle took great care of all our needs and i 100% recommend European Crystal for any event big or small. You will not be dissppointed!

    We had our bridal shower, a weddind reception and now a baby shower at European Crystal. It is the best place i have been to for any event. Great all across the board, from amazing food, to great service to beautiful decor. We are always taken care of 100% and we are always treated like valued customers. Our guests are always pleased and raving about their expierience for days. We will continue to have EC as our go to place for special ocasions, because they make them even more special.

    Recently had my wedding at European Crystal Banquets. Cannot express how satisfied of a customer my wife and I are. Everything we had wanted and more became a reality. The managment was great to work with. No problems, No hassle and more importantly no hidden fees. Everything we had budgeted for a year in advance was the exact amount a year later. This venue is worth you visiting.

    Wonderful expeirence we had at European Crystal Banquets. We got married in December of 2012 and have nothing but good things to say about this venue. the staff are all accomodating, the food is phenominal and the venue is so beautiful that we didnt need much to make it look pretty since its already beautiful. Our coordinator was Michelle and she did such a great job. She was so patient with us, helping us every step of the way answering my hundreds of emails. I could not have had a better wedding. Highly reccomend this place!!

    What a great place. Had my wedding reception at European Crystal in August. Everything was excellent , we worked with Anna from the beginning till the end and she was awesome she helped us with everything from picking the menu to decorations( it was very easy since you can order everything thru them we just told her our colors and she gave us great suggestions and show us different set up options and samples of linens & lighting) At the end the ballroom looked absolutely beautiful we could not ask for more. Our guests were very impressed especially with the fireworks we had for our entrance( Thanks Anna for suggesting those if it wasn't for you I would never even knew they existed :) ) Not to mentioned the food - exceptional for a banquet hall we never expected it to be that good , we knew it was going to be good after we had our tasting but you are always worry ok they can cook for two for the tasting but how is it going to be for 300? But they definitely know what they doing the food was perfect. I strongly recommend European Crystal to everyone how is looking for a great place for their wedding.

    European Crystal was beautiful. Staff was excellent, and most important the food was the best! We fell in love with this place as soon as we walked in. The professional staff just made it that much easier for us to book them for our reception.

    I recently had my wedding here in September 2012 and cannot say how great this venue is! My coordinator was Michelle and not only did she help me and guided me every step of the way she also became a good friend of mine. After working with her over a year and communicating non stop from phone and email, I knew we would still keep in touch after my wedding.
    The food at my wedding everyone raved about. I chose the filet mignon with chicken christopher. The dessert table was a hit, everyone went for it and ate more than they usuall could, they definitley did not hold back from the dessert table. they really went above and beyond for my wedding. the decor that i picked was like a fairy tale from a magazine. i loved it all. The price I paid for my wedding was a fair deal, if i had this exact same wedding in the city i would have ended up paying double or triple the price. My husband and I had a beautiful day and will always remember our wedding day. Again cannot rave enough about this place, the food, the service, the decor all were outstanding and so happy to of found this place! Highly reccomend this place and Michelle as your coordinator.

    I have so many wonderful things to say about European Crystal. My husband and I decided to sign with them about a year and half before our wedding date. Our coordinator Michelle worked with us from the day we signed to the day of our wedding. The whole planning process was a dream come true for my mom and I. Every time we came in Michelle and the other sales staff (Anna, Krystyna and Alice) always greeted us with open arms when we came in. We became very close to everyone at their office which just made such a warm feeling..Everything we had wanted was written down in our contract- which made my husband feel good about that. we did add some extra items later on but knew the cost of those items prior. we also did a food tasting prior to us signing which is really what sold us..the filet and sea bass was out of this world. both sets of parents were so impressed.

    We had the Grand Ballroom for our wedding and had 320 people. My theme for my wedding was accents of gold and plum purple. I ended up changing the color of the tablecloth to a plum color and sticking with their standard white napkin- which is beautiful by the way. I also upgraded to the gold chavari chair which is $4.95 and trust me i did my research on the prices and that was the best price out of all the banquet halls we visited prior to..i think the most I've seen for those chairs was $12 a chair- now that's just crazy!! my husband didn't understand what was the point on spending $4.95 a chair but after we got our wedding pictures he now totally agrees i made the right choice :) we also ended up going with their led lights which is also extra..it definitely made the room to the next level of wow!! my room was glowing with purple. it made my room so beautiful!! uhh- totally worth it for pictures!!

    we ended up going with a wedding planner for just the day of from their staff who was able to work with us the entire day. Anna showed up to my house at 8am took care of all the things that needed to be done, she was with us at the church lining everyone up at the church and making sure i was doing okay ..she was such a gem and i could not do it with out her. she even was there at the reception helping Michelle do everything love those 2 girls.

    the food here is just outstanding. from the appetizers, to the soup, the intermezzo- MANGO-my favorite! and don't forget the entree- filet and sea bass with my favorite potato- au gratin- to DIE FOR!!!! everyone at my wedding could not rave enough about the food but the potato was delish!! my wedding cake was actually brought from an outside bakery. European Crystal was kind enough to give me a credit since i brought in my own cake. My cake was from Oak Mill Bakery..i had the ambrosia cake- WOW! it was definitely pricey-really pricey-but worth it..if you have the $$ to spend then go for it !!

    the sweet table was from European Crystal's pastry chef- everyone raved about it as well..it was definitely the cheaper way to go ..Overall i am just such a happy and satisfied customer . European Crystal and especially the staff here really did made my dream wedding. I definitely could have went to downtown and had my wedding at the Drake and spent $300+ a person but for what?!? the food in downtown lets just be honest here at the weddings that Ive been to at the high end hotels are gross!! it really had no comparison to my wedding. I am soooo happy we chose this place - every dollar we spent here was worth it and could do it all over again are definitely coming back here for our baby shower (when we have one) and any other family celebrations that will happen in the near future!!

    thank you again to all the staff at EC..your job is not an easy job at all dealing with brides like me- but you all do such a great job at it. I could not have done this with out you all !

    I had my wedding at European Crystal Banquets on 9-10-11 and am a very satisfied customer. My wife and I have nothing but great things to stay about this place and the staff. We booked with them in February of 2010 and had about 7 months to plan our dream wedding. We worked with Krystyna and she was with us every step of the way. We rented out the entire faciltiy and had our cocktail hour in the Parlor ABC room and our reception in the Grand Ballroom. All of our planning and details came to life on the day of our wedding. My wife was in tears and i almost came to tears. Our favorite decoration that we chose was the white dance floor with our initals engraved on the floor and the drapery around the room. those 2 items were the icing on the cake. The food that we chose was outstanding..the entree that we selected to serve our 300 guests was filet minon and sea bass. Our extravaganza sweet table we chose was out of this world. Our guests could not rave enough about the food, desserts and decorations. My wife and I are extremely happy and would do it all over again at EUROPEAN CRYSTAL !

    Anna and Krystyna were extremely helpful and professional. I really enjoyed and appreciated all of the efforts they made to make my day beautiful! I had my reception in the Grand Ballroom and it was truly a dream! I would highly recommend everyone to do their wedding here as well! :)

    I got married on September 5, 2009 at European Crystal and had a traditional Polish wedding. I had my wedding in the North part of the Grand Ballroom. My wedding coordinator at the banquet hall was Michelle...she is GREAT - very helpful, sincere, and knows how to please her customers!!!
    My wedding was my dream come true!!! I couldn't have asked for anything better. The b...anquet room was decorated beautifully, everything was TOP NOTCH!! The food was great (even though I did not get a chance to eat everything) but everybody told me it was amazing, we had a half of chicken breast with a mushroom sauce and filet minion steak with another sauce that at this time I don't remember. They have a lot of selection of meals that you can choose from. I also had a 'cold table' that was brought out at around 11pm which consisted of sandwiches, red borscht and a whole smoked salmon -- everybody was impressed. The 'sweet table' was unbelievable, the selection and quality of the sweets and fruits was delicious!!!
    The guest were happy with the open bar and Sebastian was an amazing bartender...THANKS SO MUCH!
    The party was so awesome that we had to extend the party till 2am!!!
    I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EUROPEAN CRYSTAL TO EVERYONE....YOUR EXPERIENCE WILL BE WONDERFUL AND YOUR GUESTS WILL BE BEYOND THRILLED AND HAPPY AND WILL REMEMBER YOUR WEDDING FOR A VERY LONG TIME!!!

    this venue was amazing! they took care of everything, and I mean everything! I didn't have the least bit worry. My ceremony room was gorgeous and my Reception was so fancy! lol. I also did my rehearsal dinner at European Crystal and I would totally recommend doing that for other Brides. The Food was delicious, everyone was professional and all my guests were super impressed. Alice and Krystyna were exceptional.

    To be honest, I am extremley shocked by reading all these negative reviews about European Crystal Banquets. I just recently had my wedding there, and had the most wonderful expierence ever! I was working with Michelle from the 1st time I walked in for my 1st appointment to the end of my wedding night..Everything that was said on their end was promised and delivered. Michelle, the owners of European Crystal, and all of their managers were all working at my wedding which made me feel very comfortable, and if i needed anything I knew where to find them...they were so attentive to every detail and made sure that the dinner was going smoothly and not rushed! The food was out of this world..I ended up going with a combination plate of filet minion and chicken christopher! All of my guests were flooding me with compliments about the food and the sweet table..the majority of my guests were half Italian and half Polish and they all left my wedding very happy..I couldnt ask for a better venue or better service! Every dollar that I spent there was well worth it, and I would reccomend to all of my family and friends to have any kind of special event at European Crystal Banquets..At the end of my wedding night, I left European Crystal very happy and felt like I was treated as I was part of their family..nothing but good things to say about this place! :)

    WOW - the food was amazing, the staff was attentive, and they pretty much fulfilled our every fleeting request. We had signature drinks, a great liquor selection, an excellent space and just a beautiful evening. Wine service was excellent, the meals were delicious, and they provided everything we could ever want.

    After visiting SIXTEEN different venues we settled on European Crystal and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Karen was simply amazing to work with and really had a lot of incite on having a wedding and offered advice on things we never would have thought about. For what you get, the price is unbeatable! Karen helped us establish our menu, gave suggestions on pairings of sides with entrees (the roasted potatoes she suggested were definitely a hit with our guests!), and gave some great ideas on decor.

    European Crystal we very flexible with our one site wedding rehearsal and allowed us more than enough time during the week leading up to the event to get into the space and do a ton of set up. They even let us leave our flower arrangement in their cooler so that looked impeccable on the day of the event. Karen was also very flexible with allowing us to get a cake from an outside vendor and comping us for the uplights we wanted instead.

    The day of, the meal was excellent several of our guest raved about the food. The appetizers were also excellent. We received a lot of feedback from guests wanted the beef skewers as a meal! Our photographer couldn't believe the food was not catered which is impressive for someone who attends TONS of weddings. The dinner service went off without a hitch!

    During the reception was had some uninvited guests occasionally enter our space and Karen was quick to usher them out which was a really nice touch. She was also accessible throughout the night for any questions that we had. European Crystal definitely earned the gratuity we paid and then some! I would highly recommend Karen and European Crystal to anyone that is looking for an elegant venue with staff that really care about making your wedding day special.

    Had my wedding this summer at the European Crystal Banquets, it is absolutely georgious! couldnt have picked a better place to have my dream wedding. The place catches your eye the minute you walk in. The food is absolutely amazing! I had so many ppl tell me the place and the food were EXCELLENT! They do a great job making your day a very special day!

    Highly recommend working with Michelle, we wouldn't have ended up with the beautiful day that we did without her! She worked with us every step of the way, and was there for our event making sure it was just as planned.
    Food was amazing, guests keep telling us how impressed they were!

    Hands down, the best place to host a wedding at. The staff was an absolute delight to work for. They were extremely accomodating, and made the night perfect.

    Our experience at The European Crystal Banquets in December of 2015 was fabulous! I would highly recommend this place. The décor is so pretty that you don't even need to many extra decorations. The food was excellent, which I was concerned about because we didn't have a tasting 1st. Don't worry at all..... the food is really good! The steak skewer appetizer was the best. We had the chicken and it was cooked perfectly with a really delicious cream sauce. They will make a cake however you like, all you have to do is show them a picture and they match it perfectly and it tasted great! The service was great as well, they really were on top of things and Karen was great to work with. It was a fun night and all of our guests enjoyed it and also said how great the food and service was.

    Our wedding was in September of this year and European Crystal was our top choice. It had a hotel feel- high ceilings with beautiful chandeliers, very professional staff, exquisite food! Our guests had a blast with the open bar and the scrumptious sorbet and cake!

    The banquet hall was the prettiest and economical in the suburbs. It's the only place that has built in pin spot lights, which makes a huge difference in atmosphere The food was delicious, you won't get better food anywhere else. And the service was great. I highly recommend it!!!

    We held our wedding reception here at the end of October 2010. It was an evening to remember! We were drawn to this hall for its looks, stayed because of its potential, and were pleasantly surprised by how smoothly the evening went. Everything was fantastic (nothing is perfect, but right up there and managed very well). The contract was no hassle, everything was spelled out - no hidden fees... the taxes, gratuity, and everything was all spelled out and Michelle got us an invoice before payment was due to keep things simple. Actually, when we came in with less people than expected, they agreed to let us have a dessert buffet instead of paying for 15 unneeded dinners and having it be wasted. I dropped off all my centerpieces, table cards/names, champagne flutes, etc the week before the wedding with a list of directions for setup. The day of the wedding, everything set up exactly the way we discussed and there were no "surprises" the day of the wedding. Michelle was our event coordinator and took us through the planning. The night of the wedding, she came to me a few times to ask/clarify the questionable things (random uncles bringing their own alcohol, DJ time change, do you want us to box the cake, etc). It kept us in control, but we knew that she was handling it so we could enjoy ourselves and she didn't track us down every three seconds with needless questions. The bartender left a little to be desired and we had to ask to turn down the heat (probably from too many people dancing!) but other than that, flawless evening from start to finish. We've gotten more compliments on the dinner than any other part of the whole wedding. Everyone loved it! It was BY FAR the best food we've had at a big group event ever (fillet minion, chicken christopher, and a twice-baked potato) The cake was beautiful and better than I'd imagined it to look. I just couldn't have asked for a better or more memorable wedding day.

    The banquet was beautiful! It fit our wedding style perfectly. The wedding planner was on top of everything and never missed a beat! She kept my mom sane with all the details! The food is outstanding and the willingness to help us was top notch. My only complaint would be that the staff (waiters and waitresses) were kind of loud when they survived food. Our table was right in front of the kitchen so I felt like we could hear everything. My parents also felt this way, but the rest of the tables were far away so they did not notice. It was hard to hear the speeches and it did upset me, but that was a minor thing in the grand scheme of the event.

    We had our 4/17/2010 wedding at European Crystal Banquets. The hall is lovely with vaulted cathedral ceilings. They decor was perfect. The food wonderful. The staff attentive and friendly. Our only complaint was that the cake was really dry and we thought only our wedding was going to be held at the venue and a second wedding was booked on our night - but they're in it for the money, so we get it.

    We did our wedding on a Sunday which saved some money and made the price great for the value. We were in the ABC room which is a non-traditional style room with low ceilings and fireplace mantles. Might not be for everyone, but we thought it seemed more vintage and warm with the décor in the room. Working with the coordinator Anna was great, although she tends to be quite busy and so you might need to give a call vs an email sometimes. The day of the wedding we did have some miscommunication issues with some of the staff on which entrée went with the color coding we put onto our place tags. This was frustrating, however once we notified the coordinator it was quickly resolved. We were told by many that they had some of the best wedding food they have had here. The mushroom soup and the walnut salad were especially a hit. Overall we were very happy in choosing this banquet hall.

    We worked with European Crystal for our wedding and had pro and cons. The venue itself was beautiful, the food was delicious and everything was pulled together very nicely and looked great. The only thing was that we clashed with one of the people working there. She was cold and didn't seem concerned about us personally being happy. We had to ask several times to have the air turned up (guests were complaining), we were rushed out at the end of the night and other promises were not fulfilled. All in all, what matters to me is that our guests were happy and had a great time. Everything looked beautiful and it was great from a guests view.

    We worked with Anna through the entire process. The night went great and the planning was pretty easy considering all of the details that needed to be worked out. A few missed details were recognized the day like the purple bows put over the gold bows on the high top tables and a couple of escort cards that were not put out. Also we asked for a purple cake, but it looked more blue in the lighting. Seems like a tough color to get, but was a little upsetting to see a blue cake when we walked in. Overall a great night with bright colors and great food. We would do it all over again with European Crystal.

    It is very clean and cozy room. KRYSTYNA who was the person in charge for us helped a lot and gave us better advice and price. I appreciate her that we had nice wedding reception and every friends of ours enjoyed a lot.

    We had a lucheon wedding, and the price that they gave us initially was very very affortable. We really liked the place. It's fairly new, so i doesn't that weird smell that old banquet halls have. We also liked the overall look of the banquet hall, as well as the food. However... before the wedding we had to stop by the banquet hall twice to make sure that the chairs we rented were not stained and scratched (which is what they gave us initially). Also we had talked to one of the sales people there and she told us that we would get candles, these regular chargers and so on. Two days before the wedding she called to tell us that she didnt realize that was only for the dinner weddings.... since we didnt have any of these little details in our contract we couldnt do anything about it. Finally the last complaint I have is that they realllllly rushed the food... BUT the food was VERY good!

    The two positives of this location were that a) the food was good and b) the hall is very pretty. Aside from that, the person we worked with was constantly changing her answers and telling us one thing while another was true, and also completely going back on her word and lying about having said it in the first place. She does not respond to emails and only responds to voicemails with mulptiple attempts. She was VERY rude to our wedding planners the day of the wedding, starting off with refusing to put out the correct number of chairs (they were 30 short for our 130 person guest list and insisted that 30 will not show up), and continued when they refused to clean up crumbs left on the floor after the cocktail hour. while i dont think the guests noticed these things (aside from our ushers who had to stand during the entire ceremony), i really wish i had not signed a contract with them because they were a pain to deal with for 11 months!

    When we booked this hall they were so helpful. the day of my event, some tables were missing chairs in front of plates while others had chairs but no plates. some tables had missing or too many placements. it was a MESS!!!! to make things worse, they apparently dropped some trays of the desert, so instead of getting 2 crepes per guest we got only 1! i paid for 2 and then the owner claims it only comes with 1 when the contract stated 2! no refund! the staff was rude when i asked them for my boxes or left over items.

    Beautiful venue but not worth it

    The problem with this venue is that I was so stressed the day of my event because the staff here doesn’t give you a good feeling. Our dinner buffet was missing name cards for the food items, we were told there was a special light during dancing but there wasn’t, our guests were spoken to rudely and unprofessionally when they asked for silverware or napkins, we were promised an office to sit in instead of the bridal room because it was being used by the other party that booked the other banquet room, which was fine but the office was hot and no ac was blowing so I was sweating for my own event-this was not fun nor comfortable. The open bar liquor was not as it should of been. It was not easy asking for things and making sure things would go smooth because there were rude undertones from the ladies that worked here. I would expect more friendly professional service from a banquet hall. It’s such a big day for people and we spend so much money, the last thing you would expect is difficulty from the staff you are paying. I don’t recommend this venue, especially not for peace of mind on the day of your event.

    My fiancé and I loved this place at first until we signed the contract. They said they double booked a week later which was a lie because they had a couple come in with more guests than we had which meant more money for them. They are very greedy. The food is amazing but the service was terrible. They messed up on my brother's peanut allergy. They put food that came in contact with peanuts on his plate. The severs would take plates away while you are still eating. The bartender was rude. 7 guests didn't show up and we were suppose to get the food wrapped up and that didn't happen. I emailed the lady after and expressed my concerns about how they handle allergies and asked where my 7 meals were and she replied saying sorry and to have a nice day. Honestly if I could redo my wedding I would have not picked here. It may seem true good to be true at first but once you sign the contract they don't care about you

    The positives about European Crystal are that the food is excellent and the service was impeccable. The hall is pretty on the inside, and nice on the outside as well.

    When we first booked the hall, she showed us pictures of what it would look like. The pictures were absolutely amazing, with linens matching your colors, silver or gold chairs, etc. About a month and a half before the wedding, we went to finalize our details with the owner. It was then we were told that the silver chairs would be $4.95 EACH, the table cloths $30.00 a table, the napkins $2.95 each. I was so shocked, and irrate that they would leave out these details when we signed our contract. When we approached her about it, she said "well I didn't know what you would want then". When I told her that for the future, she should mention that at the beginning because it's very decieving to her customers, she didn't have much to say. An apology would be out of the question. Nothing was mentioned about it in our contract either. When you already have a budget and your money planned, it's a real disappointment. She went back on her word about a few other things, like the extended hour. When we first booked she said if we would want one more hour of the bar we would only have to pay 8.00 per person for the people that are there. Then at our meeting, she said we'd have to pay 8.00 times the final count.

    Our night ended up being beautiful. People could care less about what chairs they are sitting on. But the point is that they changed their word last minute and I lost COMPLETE respect for them and their company. I WOULD NOT reccomend them to anyone. If you do choose them, make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing. From the chairs, to the table cloths, to the toilet paper.

    Not only did the staff insult some of my guests (directly to them, intentionally), the staff was rude. They weren't even going to let my husband back into the building 3 minutes after the reception was over to retrieve his forgotten jacket. The staff had a hard time completing simple tasks regarding decorations, etc. The one positive thing I can say about the facility is that they do have wonderful food, but it's certainly not worth the other hassles.

    I had my reception here almost a year ago. The food and venue are amazing. My biggest problem is their PR.

    I recommend combing through the contract by affirming what is agreed upon and how much it will cost. I thought I understood but when it came time to pay the balance of our bill, I owed an extra $1,000 for the plates because they're "winter discount" was misleading; what they said in the contract was not what was told to our faces. We were also promised a soda bar; when we brought this to their attention that night after we'd only had water for an hour, each table was then given a pitcher of flat cola, that was it.

    I highly discourage anyone from working with Michelle. She seemed friendly at first but later was unprofessional because she found it was better to argue with my husband and me than attempt to find solutions to problems or disagreements. She also failed to appear for the reception itself and did not call, email, or otherwise notify my husband or me of her absence before or after the wedding. I felt like she took our money then gave us the cold shoulder; it was frustrating and frankly, hurtful.

    I have mixed reviews. If you deal with anyone but Michelle, I still say proceed with caution.

    Biggest regret of my wedding.

    For a Chinese-American wedding coordinated from out of state, we’d chosen EC Banquets for its reputation for ethnic weddings. While discussing Chinese weddings, the sale rep says, "We need at least *some* traditions!” as if my traditions don’t count. We gave her the name of the caterer in writing, asking her to meet them. She obviously didn’t know the food ("I think Yu's Mandarin isn’t Chinese; it's Mandarin"), but then lied to me ("I love Yu's! I eat there all the time!") She then went to the wrong restaurant, called my fiance because she’d lost my phone #, and implied that we didn't do our part talking with the restaurant because the manager had no clue what she was talking about.

    I got a different sales rep, who told me that she was best reached via e-mail. I contacted her weeks ahead of a Chicago trip to arrange a meeting, and she said she was free anytime that day. When I got to Chicago, she said she was busy. When asked if e-mail was still the best way to reach her, she said yes. Later, there were issues of not answering e-mails. 1 wk before the wedding, she tells me that I shouldn’t expect her to keep up with her e-mail. When I tried calling, I’d get a rep who wouldn’t leave a message and kept giving incorrect info

    We’d agreed that I’d deliver placecards, etc on Wed, 4d prior to my wedding. ~10 d prior to wedding, the rep said we’d talk when I delivered items on Tues. I corrected her that I was arriving on Wed. A few days later, she e-mails that she’d be out thru Wed. I asked if she was out, who would review details w/me? No response.

    Whenever I spoke to the manager or asst manager, the response was, "You're pretty stressed out, aren't you?" not "We'll do a better job for you."

    On the wedding day, we had to send the waiters back to the kitchen b/c the vegetarian food was presented wrong. They threw away items which were supposed returned to us. There are many other issues that I have not listed, d/t lack of space.
