Great experience!

Michelle was wonderful to work with! We were in Greenwich for a wedding and she came to our hotel room to glam us up for the celebration. Makeup was beautiful!

Great wedding makeup artist!!

I loved Michelle. She was so easy to work with and really was able to execute the vision of what I wanted for my wedding. She was able to give my maids of honor the natural look that they wanted but my mother in law the total glam look she wanted!
My venue wouldn't let us into the bridal suite until later in the day but Michelle was able to work in a fast pace that enable the wedding party to be ready in time for pictures but the ceremony but also didn't sacrifice quality.
I would definitely recommend her for any of my friends weddings!

Gifted Makeup Artist

Michelle was fantastic to work with! I asked for a natural glam look. And she outdid herself! The colors she chose complimented my skin tone perfectly. I felt absolutely gorgeous without feeling like I had a ton of makeup on. Michelle is a very talented makeup artist.

Michelle was also able to work with a few of my difficult family members. She was professional at every turn and made sure everyone looked and felt great.

Michelle is just a lovely person all around, and the fact she is fantastic makeup artist is just the icing on the cake! She listened to exactly what I wanted and made it happen. The trial was really helpful, so I suggest not skipping that. I felt absolutely beautiful on my wedding day and didn't need a single touch up. All of my bridesmaids and the Mom's were very happy as well. Thank you so much Michelle!!!

Michelle did such a fantastic job on my wedding day, and she has an awesome personality that made the day even more upbeat. I hardly wear any make-up on a regular basis, so finding the right make-up artist was really important for me. Her make-up style was exactly what I was looking for: Natural, and it lasted all day! I knew after my trial with her I could trust her taste and style, and I didn't have to worry about my face on camera for the whole event. My mom and bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning thanks to Michelle's services as well. Her rates were so affordable, and she was professional about handling the timing requirements on the day. She also communicated on time and made me feel at ease -- she is totally reliable and takes the stress away. I highly recommend her for your wedding or any other event! I'd definitely even hire her to help me look great as a wedding guest for someone else's wedding!!!

I had Michelle do makeup for both my wedding and my sisters wedding. She did such a wonderful job and she was so flexible about scheduling the trials as well. Her assistants also did such a great job with my bridesmaids. The service was great and she did my makeup exactly how I wanted it, which is very difficult because I don't usually wear makeup or like to. I also have to say that she was very reasonably priced, considering all the other makeup artists I had looked into. I had been to at least 4 and it was just one disappointment after an other, especially when I would look at the prices for my bridesmaids. Not only was Michelle highly qualified as a makeup artist, she knows how to work with the light and listen to what her client wants. I'm so happy I found her and I hope to use her again in the future.

Words cannot express how amazing Michelle is! My wedding was a week ago ( 10/18/14) and I still feel on cloud 9. I usually wear glasses daily but for my wedding day I wanted to wear contacts. I usually don't feel like the "best me" when I wear my contacts as I use my glasses as part of my style. I also have sensitive skin and have vitiligo, where parts of my skin are different colors and blotchy. Michelle worked with me from the beginning and since my trail she helped me feel so beautiful inside and out. Michelle and her team ( Alexis) have a way of making sure make-up does not take away from your natural beauty.

I contacted Michelle a little less than a year ago and since our first conversation she was professional, warm, fun, personal and I felt beyond confident that she would do an amazing job on my wedding day for my bridesmaids and I, and she did! Additionally, my mom also had her make-up done and from the beginning had a concern with her skin, as she calls it, older skin. From the trial to the day of my wedding, Michelle also gave my mom confidence and her make-up was stunning.

Without doubt I would recommend Michelle and Ethereal Beauty in a heartbeat. I truly cannot thank Michelle enough for being part of my special day and making me feel like the most beautiful and confident bride.

Michelle was amazing. She is an incredibly gifted makeup artist, which is obviously a result of her professional training, modeling/acting experience in front of a camera, and her natural talent.

She made me, my bridesmaids and my mom feel so special on my wedding day, and provided a much needed vibe of calm during my makeup session. She has a knack for bringing out the natural beauty of each person and highlighting individual elements of beauty.

Most importantly, she listened. She welcomed feedback and didn't make anyone feel bad for asking for a tweak here and there. She took vigorous notes during our makeup trial, and remembered all the details on my wedding day.

I felt beautiful... like the best version of myself, not some overly done, made up version. My wedding was in the fall foliage of the Catskill Mountains, and her style aligned perfectly with my vision of an ethereal, woodland wedding.

I Cannot say enough nice things about the talented Michelle! I hired Michelle to come to makeup for 4 bridesmaids and her results were AMAZING! I was very picky about who would be doing the makeup because I wanted everyone to look natural and not looked like they had caked on makeup. WOW i was so impressed when I saw the girls, they were literally glowing! Not only does Michelle do amazing makeup, she is so sweet and kind and everyone loved her! She had no problem doing touch ups for the girls, and did not leave until everyone was picture perfect. I have nothing but amazing things to say about Michelle!! I've worked with her in the fashion industry for the past 8 years and asked if she'd do the makeup for my wedding. I was absolutely blown away by her talent!! First of all, I love being around her, but sitting in her chair as she "worked on me" was such a fun experience. At our makeup trial, Michelle came prepared with magazine tears of what she envisioned and it turned out beautifully. I've worked with many makeup artists over the years as a model and not one of them has come close to making my skin look so amazing. I looked glowy, dewey, fresh at the wedding and somehow it lasted all night. She's not a big believer in powder, so the makeup wasn't cakey or flat looking at all. I felt so beautiful thanks to Michelle and our photos are just gorgeous!

Michelle and her assistant were incredibly professional, accommodating, and talented. There were 7 women (the bride, two mothers, and 5 bridesmaids) who had their make up done. Michelle was extremely warm and welcoming; she put everyone at ease and met our make-up demands, whatever they were, with professionalism. She even took the time to touch up and adjust everyone's make up before we left for the wedding. Everyone was thrilled with their look, and we had a range of ages, skin types, and even a few who swore they never wore make up and didn't care to. I would use Michelle again and again if I lived closer! You won't be disappointed.

Michelle was a joy to work with! She is so friendly and the love that she has for her work is obvious. Michelle made me and all of my bridesmaids look beautiful and she did it with a wonderful sense of humor, respect, and genuineness that I don't think I would have found with anyone else. I was thrilled with my wedding day makeup and felt beautiful but still like myself (which was very important to me). She understood what I was hoping for and she nailed it. I would recommend Michelle to anyone for any event. You'll walk away from a session with her looking beautiful and feeling so good about yourself, not just because of how you look on the outside but just for having spent time with her.

I was lucky enough to have my makeup done by Michelle twice - once for a friends wedding and most recently for my own. I couldn't be happier with my makeup on my wedding day. I wanted to look like myself, but better, and she did exactly that. I felt gorgeous and so did my bridesmaids, mom and mom-in-law. Michelle is a pleasure to work with - she's down to earth and skilled at what she does. You can tell she loves her job.

My wedding was right after hurricane Sandy and I worried Michelle and her assistant would have trouble getting to my house on Long Island. She reassured me not to worry and that she'd be at my house at whatever time I needed her on the day of the wedding. Not only did she make the hour long drive to my house (during a gas shortage/hurricane aftermath), she also arrived on time and greeted me at the door with a huge smile. She instantly put me at ease. I can't thank her enough. She is amazing!

Due to unforeseen life events that required me to travel in and out of the country following my June wedding, I was not able to write this overdue review. But my opinion about Michelle's professionalism and skills is the same and has not scaled down a bit.

I instantly felt comfortable and confident the first time I spoke with her. She's even better when I met her for the trial. Apart from her amazing warm personality, she's very professional and highly skilled in what she does. She's very attentive but not overbearing and she listened to my concerns (of looking natural and not cakey) and at the same time very honest to give her professional opinion and suggestions.

She worked with her hairstylist, Jessica who is equally talented and professional. She listened and tried few things with patience before we came up with the final look.

They were prompt and very relaxed on the day of the wedding.
- Michelle used the airbrush technique which showed her high level free hand makeup application talent! She also did an amazing job on applying the artificial eyelashes- it was very tedious on her part but she did not rush at all. My mother in law and my maid of honor were equally impressed with the excellent job she did with their make up.

- Jessica was very understanding when I asked to change my sides wept bangs after she finished doing the agreed upon overall hairstyle. She was very patient and did not appear mad or annoyed when she did the change I requested.

I received a lot of compliments that day and a BIG THANK YOU to Michelle & Jessica!

I highly recommend them without reservation!!!

I can't even begin to describe how thankful I am to have found Michelle for myself and my wedding party! She made me look flawless and beautiful on my rainy special day. Michelle and her assistant had no problem traveling to my venue and didn't have any problems by last minute add ons (once some other girls saw the outcome they couldn't resist getting their makeup done as well). Although Michelle is extremely professional she also has a way of making you feel like you've been friends for years. Michelle's services were recommended to me and I couldn't be happier with the results. Oh! And her prices cannot be beat! From one bride to another, you can stop your search now!

Michelle and her team are great. i use then once a month and i also for every occasion i need to have great makeup. once a month i see them for facial, peels, etc. my skin has never looked better. i love that they make you feel relaxed and beautiful. i cant wait for the holidays to start to have my makeup done for all the parties.

Michelle was great! Very flexible, on time, well prepared and organized. For my daughter’s trial she came to our house, and spent as long as it was needed to make sure that she knew exactly what to do on the day of the wedding. There were 10 of us to have the make up done, and Michelle (with the help of her assistant) made sure that everyone looked beautiful and on time. The bridal party looked terrific, and my daughter looked absolutely gorgeous! Michelle even bought a special lipstick for me to match my dress that she got to see in advance! She is genuinely a very sweet person, and made my daughter, the bride; feel very calm during the whole time when we were getting ready. I think making the bride calm and happy, was the most important. Thank you!

As the Maid of Honor for a wedding with 8 bridesmaids, 1 bride and 1 mother of the bride all getting makeup done, I truly appreciated Michelle's flexibility with the group, email responsiveness and overall upbeat attitude the whole day! She and her assistant did a great job with everyone's makeup and spent a lot of time with each girl to make sure that they were satisfied with what they were paying for. All of the girls were extremely happy with the air brush makeup that Michelle did and the best part was that it lasted the whole night! I would definitely recommend her services to a friend!

Michelle did an amazing job on my makeup and the rest of the bridesmaids. I wanted to look like myself - but better - and the result was gorgeous. I was hesitant about using airbrushing, but the way she applies it is so light and natural - the look is flawless! On top of the great job she did on the makeup, she is also incredibly kind and listens to any suggestions you may have for your overall look and feel. I was so happy with my results that I booked her for my upcoming wedding! I can't wait to work with her again!

Michelle Ray Smith immediately illuminates the room when she enters and turns on all the lights inside you with her makeup and styling expertise! Michelle is amazing!!! My makeup has never looked better and the work she did on the bride was simply gorgeous!! Even with running around in the rain and heat all day, our faces stayed perfect all day and all night. We both got sooo many compliments. On top of just the makeup, Michelle was a pleasure to work with. She's super nice and totally listens to what you want and does a great, great job. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a makeup artist for the wedding or other special occasion!

Michelle was wonderful to work with! She came to my apartment for a makeup trial a couple months before the wedding, which was incredibly convenient. As someone who doesn't usually wear much more than mascara, the trial was hugely helpful in figuring out my wedding "look" and made me feel much more comfortable/confident going into the big day. On my wedding day, Michelle did my sister and sisters-in-laws'makeup as well as my own. She was so fun to have as part of our getting ready team and made us all feel relaxed and beautiful :) Highly recommend!

Michelle did the all of the makeup for my friend's wedding. She was able to find a unique look for each bridesmaid, taking style and personality into account. Overall the bridal party looked quite gorgeous and classy. She's very talented and was also so much fun to talk to and hang out with! It's quite a personal morning getting ready for a wedding, and Michelle fit right in. Thanks for your great work!

Michelle provided myself (the bride) and the girls of my bridal party with natural-looking, quality makeup services. I always feared makeup artists that created faces with cakey-appearing concealer work and just too much makeup in general, the client not looking like themselves. Michelle is definitely NOT one of these artists! She exhibited a great deal of patience and care in applying the makeup and was always open to any questions, concerns or suggestions. The day of my wedding, I got so many compliments (even from the groom!) on how naturally beautiful I looked... That my makeup still looked like I would normally do it, just kicked up a notch! Michelle's work is FIRST RATE, and she is an amazing woman on top of it all! :)

Michelle Ray Smith@Ethereal Beauty is just the calm, lovely, professional you'd want to do make-up for your bridal party on your wedding day. I would hire her again without hesitation. She is an expert and artist in her field. I feel very lucky I found her.
