Oh What A Night!

My daughter got married at the Hemingway Home and Museum on May 30, 2026. The entire planning process and event were pure joy. Ralphie Seger was our event planner and helped so much with vendor referrals, vendor communication, budget considerations, and providing options and ideas. We spent 9 months meeting regularly, emailing, and texting. The days leading up to the events, he met with me in person, picked up items, and even drove my daughter/son in law to a 6 am photo shoot! The day of, he was the rock of the whole show - providing the families and our vendors with calm direction and excellent problem solving (though we really had only minor things come up). The grounds of the home were immaculate and just so well cared for. The cats were the guests of honor. Our guests were able to enjoy abbreviated tours of the home during the cocktail hours - nice to give them an activity and get them out of the humidity! It was a spectacular event, and we feel very honored to have had it hosted in such an iconic location.

Hemmingway Wedding

Oh my gosh! I could go on and on about the amazing experience my husband and I just had at the Hemingway Home. With Ralphi ( on sight planner through the Hemingway House), we were able to make our dream come true! The whole day felt like a dream and planning with Ralphi was easy and stress free! Ralphi made sure that each of our concerns or requests were addressed and our vision came to life. Throughout the night everyone kept making comments on how beautiful and how amazing the venue looked! Thank-you so much to the Hemingway House and their amazing staff!

Perfect Day

We loved everything about our wedding at the Hemingway Home. The event staff and planner Ralphie went above and beyond to make our day wonderful. The grounds are stunning and our guests could not stop complimenting the event. Highly recommended!

Complete perfection!

I have nothing but great things to say about Hemingway and the team of wedding planners there! My husband and I love Key West, so naturally that is where we chose to get married. In all the times that we had been to Key West in the past we had never visited the Museum though, so when we booked it we were going in blind basically. Alex and Jen were so incredible and responsive to all of my questions even though we were only a small group with 10 guests rather than a couple hundred like they are probably more used to seeing. Our ceremony was held during open hours at the museum, but honestly it was still very private. I would not change a single thing about my wedding day and a lot of that credit goes toward the team at Hemingway for making everything so easy!

Wedding Perfection

Sheer perfection. If I had to describe our wedding using only two words those would be it. My husband and Iive in Austin, TX so having our destination wedding in Key West at the Hemingway Home was of course very fun to plan but being so far away from
home there was a lot of uncertainty. Heck, we didn’t even see the venue in person until the wedding rehearsal day! But let me tell you - I wouldn’t have done anything differently. I put my full trust into Vicky, our month of coordinator, and the rest of our vendors (Great Events Catering, KissMe Entertainment, Key West Cakes) and they created the most magical night of our lives. They say perfection doesn’t exist, but I can assure you it does, because that’s exactly what my husband & I experienced on 04/23/22. Thank you Vicky for your professionalism, kindness, and knowledge of the venue & island. We are forever grateful. ♥️

Best Day of Our Lives

Dreams really do come true! Words fall short trying to describe how perfect our wedding day was at the Hemingway house, but we can say with heartfelt certainty that was the best day of our lives (so far!) This wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible work of Vicky Furman and her team. She answered every question with such enthusiasm and thoughtful guidance, and truly made our wedding go off without a hitch. You can trust Vicky with the smallest to the biggest details, and she will handle everything with professional confidence and incredible customer service skills. Each and every suggestion & recommendation she made ended up working out perfectly and made our day a comfortable, enjoyable and special experience for us and our guests. If we could turn back time, we would do it all over again and wouldn’t change a single thing. Easy, Breezy Wedding Planning Process

This is your sign to have your wedding at the Hemingway House if you're in any way considering it. Despite having to postpone our date, we could not have asked for a smoother planning process, and our day was everything we'd dreamed it would be. Vicky was an incredible day-of coordinator, assuring us along the way and making sure everything was in order. The vendors were also all excellent. (We went with Great Events for catering, Milan Event for florals, and Eventfully Yours for equipment.) We wouldn't have changed a thing, and we're so thankful to everyone who played a role in our special day.

Paradise Wedding in Key West

Great wedding experience from start to finish. The wedding coordinators at the Hemingway Home (Jen, Vicky and Alex) were hardworking and knowledgeable about everything...literally everything from weather patterns in the season to vendors on the island with their working relationships. They were detailed oriented and quick response whether email, text or phone call. They sent me a recap of all the vendors expected times and placement for the reception on the property. The property is gorgeous and well maintained. They were very accommodating to my shrinking wedding size due to covid-19 and last minute changes which included moving my ceremony location to the Hemingway Home. The natural lighting on property was perfect for January. Ceremony was at 5:30 pm had plenty of natural lighting and privacy on site for the wedding ceremony. No need to go elsewhere for the ceremony. They coordinated well amongst the many vendors involved and last minute changes. Definitely recommend. Only suggestion for the venue is to be able to extend the venue hours to earlier (before 5:30 pm) and later (midnight) currently not an option.

Our perfect wedding day!

This venue was absolute perfection in our eyes! The grounds were stunning and the cats adorable! And I can't say enough good things about Vicky! Vicky worked with us, and by worked with us, I mean she held my hand as I asked one million questions throughout the planning process. At the start of planning, Vicky provided us with a booklet of protocol, vendors, and planning recommendations. This was extremely helpful, and she walked me through booking each vendor, asking what we were looking for and recommending one or two that would be appropriate to meet those needs and our budget. (Extra shout out to SoundWave and Karol's Cakes, our two fav vendors she recommended). Vicky made sure that everything was perfect, from the vendors to bustling my dress when my bridesmaids couldn't figure it out. My (now) husband and I were so thankful for all that the Hemingway Home and Vicky did to make our wedding a complete dream. If you're considering reserving another venue, just... full stop. Book the Hemingway Home now. You'll have zero regrets.

Vicky was absolutely AMAZING. Our wedding couldn’t have gone better and it was more and better than expected! It was truly a fairytale. The most beautiful place!

We made the decision to elope due to Covid-19 constraints. We wanted something beautiful, relaxed, but still very special. When we learned that the Hemingway Home did small weddings, we knew that was the place for us. We were happy from our very first conversations with Vicky, our event planner, all the way through the entire process. Our wedding was very small, with only our grown children in attendance. But, even with a small wedding, you still have to think of photography, lighting, flowers, seating, timing, etc. Vicky gave us great vendor options, and reached to all of them, making sure it all came together seamlessly. It was a magical day, with the most beautiful backdrop of the Hemingway Home and gardens. We would not have changed one thing!

Best Day Ever

We started planning our wedding 16 months ahead of time. As a native Floridian I knew I wanted to be near the ocean but I didn't want the traditional beach wedding. Enter Hemingway Home and Vicky. With Vicky's help all of our wedding dreams came true! Let me just say, Hemingway Home is the most stunning venue I have ever been to. We had a twilight ceremony of about 60 people and we can honestly say it was the best event of our lives. We are still getting texts/calls from our family and friends about how amazing our wedding was. The grounds themselves are stunning, so we went simple on decor and added extra lights for the mood. It functions as a museum during the day so there are some rules when it comes to where you can go and when you can conduct your rehearsal, but that was understandable. There was no other venue I would have chosen for our day. If you are looking for a beautiful, tropical venue, Hemingway Home is the absolute best choice.

Our dream wedding

Vicky was our planner through HH and was super helpful from the day we were engaged throughout the wedding planning process. She was very responsive to all texts/emails no matter how small the issue. She is familiar with the vendors and helped make decisions that would save us money where it was possible (since everything adds up!). She let us send items for our event to lessen the crazy amount of stuff we would be traveling with. She was super tolerant of our crazy family members at the rehearsal and did a great job wrangling the circus. Our Hemingway home wedding went off without a hitch with her help and guidance.

Hemingway Home and Vicky Furman!! The most beautiful/amazing experience!

Vicky Furman is EVERYTHING. From the very beginning, she provided me with guidance and support based on my budget and what I was looking for in our wedding. It was SO helpful to have her as a contact to know who to reach out to and what to ask for. She is SO organized and when you talk to her she makes you feel comfortable and confident. She is also SO CALM! Which is what every bride to be needs in their coordinator. Meeting Vicky felt like I was meeting a friend. She was open, honest, made me feel great about our wedding day and decisions. I think the best part is that there were so many times when I told myself “She does this for a living and I’m 1 out of 1 million brides she’s working with”, but Vicky never made me feel that way. I always felt like a top priory and she shared in my excitement for all that was to come. She made everything happen and go off without a hitch and I couldn’t imagine our day without her. She is truly one of a kind and the best there is! Our day, the venue, the music, the food, the décor, the ceremony and so on—it was all beautiful, perfect and I am still beaming from the good vibes. She made it all happen.

The most magical place!

The Hemingway house exceeded all of our expectations! We got married right around sunset time and it was magical! The Hemingway house went above and beyond to create our vision and make it come to life. We received so many compliments on the venue!

Don't think twice - this historical venue and Vicky are the best in Key West!

The venue was beautiful - they have 3 separate areas around the house/museum and the flow from the ceremony, to cocktail hour and finally to the reception was very seamless; it makes you feel like you're discovering different spaces and gives a different yet cohesive feel. The lush greenery is all throughout, minimizing need for too much decorations. There were enough restrooms for the guests, and it's close enough to the Green Parrot (where they have great live bands) making sure the party keeps on going after the reception. Vicky, our coordinator from Hemingway, was very responsive and gives very good perspective (follow what she says please). I never for once doubted the wedding will go seamless because she has thought of everything and was very good coordinating with the other vendors. Everything went seamlessly, I cannot point to one thing that wasn't according to the plan (except the humidity) and everyone had a blast. Don't think twice about this venue and planner - others in KW cost a lot more but this venue is so beautiful, has so much history, and so responsive/great that if I ever have to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a single thing!

We loved the Hemingway House and Vicky!

“She said not to worry, she’s got this.”

That was the theme of our experience with Vicky.

As the wedding planner for the Hemingway House she is the best thing ever to happen to weddings.

We live in Washington, DC and love Key West. We decided to get married at the Hemingway House, which due to distance, provided a fair number of obstacles. Work had ramped up for both of us and we had no opportunities to get down to Key West prior to the wedding.

Needless to say, as we were beginning to work through the details of our wedding, more issues mounted. More and more questions kept coming up. (weddings are insane). I my fiancé could almost physically see the weight of this wedding on my shoulders.

Along came Vicky.

Let me get the tangibles out of the way.

Your email will get a thoughtful and prompt reply.
She will answer you via text if you prefer, and those are also prompt.
She will answer ALL of your questions and provide guidance when needed.
She is a drill sergeant when needed (basically while herding your family and friends through the rehearsal), but one of the sweetest people you will ever meet.
Every detail will be covered.
You will feel like you are her only client. You aren’t.

There. Those were the easy tangibles. Now for the not so tangibles.

When you face an issue, a question about ANYTHING, contact her. We did and she not only went above and beyond with answering any questions but also with her general assistance throughout the wedding with various logistics (like how were we going to get pictures down to the venue and set up?). The weight was no longer on my shoulders. Vicky wrapped her arms around our wedding and the stress was lifted.

Vicky wants nothing more than for your wedding to be special. We were facing potential down-pours for our wedding and as you know in the islands, you never know if and when it is going to rain nor the intensity of that rain.

Vicky suggested we put a tent on hold, which we did. Since the probability of rain kept fluctuating and the event rental company needed 3 days notice for a final yes or no, Vicky helped us negotiate letting them know 48 hours prior. Which we did, thankfully, because it did pour and we were prepared. She also quietly and seamlessly passed umbrellas to groups of guests. They are still raving about how phenomenal and beautiful our wedding was.

She will take YOU in to account. What do I mean by that? We really wanted to be present during our cocktail hour but we had agreed to let our amazing photographers scoot us around the property for the best pictures. Vicky asked that this was okay and then made sure that we had food and drinks. She also made sure that we were where we needed to be and where we wanted to be as well. She made sure that not only did we do what we had to do, but also enjoyed our own wedding. Not an easy task.

In short, we can’t say enough good things about Vicky and the Hemingway House!

Perfect, magical wedding venue!

My husband and I could not be happier that we chose to get married at the Ernest Hemingway Home in April of this year. The second we found HH online, we knew this was the perfect venue for us. We loved the idea of a destination wedding, but felt getting married on the beach wasn't a fit for us personally. Hemingway Home was the perfect choice because it has lush tropical gardens, and is near everything in Key West, but it is also tucked away behind brick walls that offer privacy, intimacy and make you feel like you are a world away from the hustle and bustle of tourists in your own serene garden - the house itself is beautiful as well, and the entire grounds are so perfect you could totally forego all other decor and it would still be stunning. We hosted our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception here - we really loved the fact that we could host the whole day's events in one location so we (and our guests) didn't have to worry about transportation or timing between locations for each part of our wedding day. It made our entire day so much more laid back that we could have everything take place on the grounds of Hemingway Home, but each event still had its own unique location within the grounds there, so everything still felt really unique and special. We, along with our guests, were so blown away with how stunning the natural, lush garden setting was and the word everyone uses to describe our wedding day and venue was "magical" and it really was. We were also so happy with the HH coordinators leading up to the wedding and on the day-of. Vicki and Jen were awesome - supportive, helpful, and very responsive to any and all questions and suggestions we had. We also appreciated that HH has recommended vendors - since we were planning our wedding from out of town (most of it before we had ever even visited Key West), that was really helpful for us to narrow down our vendor choices. The day itself couldn't have been any more perfect, and choosing Hemingway Home as our venue was a huge reason why. We would absolutely recommend getting married here to anyone looking for a fun, beautiful and romantic wedding venue in Key West!

The absolute best!

Vicky and Hemingway Home were an absolute joy to work with. They were kind, accommodating, fun, and made it so we had the wedding of our dreams. It's always nice when. you can find that perfect combination of professionalism and personality, and Vicky has it in spades! All of the details of the day were covered, and we didn't have to worry about anything other than getting married and being happy. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being so fantastic!

Beautiful Venue, Great Coordinator

The Hemingway Home was a beautiful setting for our wedding. The space allows for you to have the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception at different locations around the property. All of our guests thought it looked like something out a movie. We could not have found a better place to get married!

Vicky Furman was wonderful to work with. She was realistic about costs and expectations and helped guide us through which of their preferred vendors would align with what we wanted. She was flexible with a few last minute additions the day before the wedding. She handled all of the day of things that could have been stressful. Vicky made us feel at ease knowing that all the small details of the day would be taken care of.

Just amazing!

The Hemingway Home exceeded all of our expectations! It was just beautiful, when the sun was both up and down. They also worked with us the week before and took us through a tour to show us where everything was going to take place. The different spots and transitions for the night were perfect. We brought cat toys for the kids to play with the cats and that was a huge hit. It was amazing and I wouldn’t have had the wedding at any other venue.

A wonderful experience!

Perfect wedding

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful ceremony and reception. There was not a thing we would change. Not only was everything beautiful, but the venue was easy to work with and posed no issues. We simply enjoyed the day and never had a single worry. We worked with Vicky, who works specifically with the Hemingway Museum, and this definitely added to the ease of the day. All of our guests said how perfect it was.

Best wedding location on the island

Key West isn't just a sun-lit island locale, it's quirky, historic, fun, exciting, and interesting. The Hemingway House embodies all of these Key West traits at its best. Not only are the grounds beautiful and gorgeously well kept, but the locale is truly one of a kind. Where else can you have a wedding with 50+ cats roaming the grounds? So happy with our decision to get married here, it made our wedding truly one of a kind.

Wedding of our dreams

Best decision that my husband and I could've made was chosing the Hemingway house as our wedding venue!
The greenery was everything we needed to make everything look amazing, being so close to duval street was even better!
Wedding planning was no easy task, yet Vicky was able to make every single step so incredibly painless. She was quick to respond, always made her self available to us, gave honest opinions and was just so helpful over all. the day of we had nothing to worry about because her and my bridesmaids took care of everything!

Our dream wedding

Our wedding at the Hemingway Home was better than we could've ever dreamed. Vicky was so kind, helpful, & responsive. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. It was so wonderful to have our ceremony, cocktail hour, & reception all in one place, but because they were each in a different area of the grounds, it felt like a new experience for each part. Would recommend this venue a thousand times over. The beach is great, but you and your guests will likely spend plenty of time there anyways, why not have your wedding in this spectacular, green space with so much history!?

Beautiful venue, wonderful staff

We chose Hemingway Home as our venue after touring the house during a winter vacation down to the Keys. Having our wedding here was a truly magical experience. We had perfect weather (got married end of March), and the grounds and gardens were beautiful. Our guests loved cocktail hour by the pool, and the set up for the reception with the dance floor and string lights on the lawn was beautiful. I also can't say enough about our event planners. I worked with Jen and Vicky, and they both were very responsive to any questions, knew all of our vendors, and handled all the arrangements day and week of with no problem. Our event ran perfectly - if anything wrong happened I had no idea! - and Vicky watched out for us both the whole night, making sure we had our favorite drinks, got a chance to sit and eat, and that all the little events during the reception happened on time. Day of, I had a minor freakout that I had messed up the flower delivery time and couldn't get ahold of the vendor. I texted Vicky and she responded instantly with "I'll handle it! :) " - flowers arrived half hour later, right on time. I would recommend Vicky and Hemingway to anyone, it was such a special day and we were able to just relax and enjoy ourselves because the staff did such a great job.

Fantastic Wedding Venue

Got married here 2 months ago and it was an absolutely perfect day. The house and property are so beautiful and everyone loved it! So glad we chose this as our venue.

December Hemingway Wedding

Perfection!

The Hemingway home was the perfect venue. I love cats and having my wedding there was so much fun. My guests loved it. All the staff were great from planing to post wedding. It was perfection!

Most Amazing Wedding

My wedding was perfect!

My wedding day was absolutely perfect, the venue is so beautiful and private, we had the place to ourselves and my guests haven't stopped raving about it. The day was made even more perfect due to the help of my wedding planner, Vicky Furman. The first time I talked to her I immediately became a calm bride because I knew whatever needed to get done, Vicky would handle it. She was so helpful in figuring out how to make my visions of the perfect wedding a reality, she helped me find ways to save money in the budget without compromising what I wanted, and she was not afraid to offer her opinion when I really needed someone to do that. There are so many details to plan but Vicky laid it all out for me, helped me prioritize and made something that can be extremely difficult so easy. I can honestly say I was never stressed out during the planning of the wedding or on the wedding day, not once, and that is because I knew Vicky was there for me. That alone is worth a lot of money, and on top of it she made my wedding more beautiful than even I imagined. I could not have asked for a better venue or a better person to help me plan it, if I had to do it all over again I would not change a thing!

Better than we ever dreamed!

We booked the Hemingway Home based on photos and reviews from this page, and it was even better in person! The Hemingway Home is so breathtaking and beautiful. We can't wait to come back in future years to celebrate our anniversary at this special place:) Vicky was absolutely INCREDIBLE and such an awesome coordinator. She was available throughout the entire process to answer questions and walk us through everything. She was extremely responsive to emails and was willing to be so flexible to make our special day what we wanted it to be. Amazing in every way possible

We can't say enough nice things about Vicky as a wedding coordinator and the Hemingway House as a wedding venue. Thanks to Vicky, our wedding somehow exceeded our expectations in every way. She was extremely responsive from day one and kept us on track. Whenever a deadline came up or something for one of our vendors was outstanding she'd make it a priority to contact us right away and tell us what had to be completed. On the day of the actual wedding, everything ran smoothly (and on time!). There's also something to be said for working with someone who has a great relationship with most, if not all, of the Key West wedding vendors. Everything was seamless and we keep hearing from our guests that for a lot of them this was the best wedding they've attended.

Incredible

Our wedding far exceeded our expectations and was the easiest, most low stress experience for the both of us. Vicky was always available by email or phone and would respond pretty much immediately. She worked tirelessly to take care of every detail and make sure the whole event went smoothly. The vendors recommended by the venue are top notch. Our wedding felt like it was straight out of a Hollywood movie. Our guests had an amazing time! We cannot recommend this venue enough!!

We couldn't have asked for better

My husband and I live in Chicago and got married at the Hemingway home in November. We weren't able to visit Key West before the wedding, so booked the event based solely on the reviews and photos we could find online and the responsiveness of the venue's staff. We could not have asked for a better experience. The property is breathtaking, and the staff is kind, responsive, and 100% on their game. Our coordinator, Vicky Furman, felt like a member of our family by the end of the night! She and the rest of the team made planning a destination wedding a breeze, and we feel truly lucky to have gotten married here.

Our small wedding (16 adults and 2 babies, all family) was held at 4 p.m. on Sept. 21, and it was AMAZING! Vicky Furman, the wedding coordinator, was responsive from the very beginning. We waited a while to begin booking anything due to unpredictable military schedules, and I was so pleasantly surprised that the Hemingway Home was available and affordable for a day-time ceremony. We had the venue's garden for a full hour, and that was plenty of time to accommodate our short ceremony, family photos in the garden and a champagne toast (included in the package). Our brother-in-law served as officiant, but that is also included in the package, along with an elegant white bouquet and boutonniere. My husband and I were able to take photos around the beautiful property after our ceremony. The best thing of all was Vicky's flexibility with the day's weather. In the end, the rain cleared just in time, and everything went off without a hitch. If I could do it all again, I would not hesitate to book this venue again for a simple, beautiful destination ceremony. [Cell phone photos only - for now :)]

This venue was a dream come true, the Hemingway House itself is breathtaking, the gardens were some of the most beautiful greenery I had ever seen, and the cats, can’t forget the six-toed cats, they were all so beautiful and sweet. The Hemingway Home was a perfect venue for every aspect of our wedding day, from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception. Everything was very romantic and beautiful. Our guest enjoyed dancing the night away and said it was by far the best wedding they had ever been to. Vicky was my day of coordinator and I cannot express how amazing she is, she truly made our wedding day perfect and I sincerely appreciate everything she did. I thought it would be hard planning a destination wedding in Key West when we are from Alabama but Vicky made it incredibly easy and if I ever felt nervous or worried about anything I knew she would be there to calm my nerves or have an answer to my question. Vicky helped me plan my wedding in just 6 short months and I would do it all over again if I could! It was nice for family and friends to go through the museum days before or after the wedding and learn about the history of The Hemingway Home as well, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We had our wedding on May 25, 2018 and our guest are still talking about how wonderful it was today. If you are looking to have a destination wedding, The Hemingway Home and Vicky should most definitely be your #1 pick! This venue will always hold a special place in my heart and my husband and I plan on going back to Key West/Hemingway Home every year for our anniversary! We can't thank Vicky and the Hemingway Home team enough for making our wedding day a dream come true!

This venue is seriously the most gorgeous and unique venue! Vicky was my coordinator and worked along side me for almost an entire year helping to prep for my wedding we just had April, 28, 2018. I cannot express how awesome she is - from keeping me on my toes to suggesting the best ideas and calming my nerves I sincerely appreciate everything she did for me. If you’re looking to have a destination wedding then Vicky and the Hemingway Home in Key West should be your number 1 pick! From beautiful greenery to THE BEST wedding coordinator, Vicky - She truly made everything perfect and I couldn’t have asked for a better person. I can’t say enough but Vicky is one of the sweetest and most professional people I’ve ever met. She helped me bustle my dress on several occasions because of a couple malfunctions and has this calming effect you’ll just have to experience in person. We recently had our wedding at the Hemingway Home and it was absolutely amazing! It was the best night. Ceremony starts at 6 pm as the sun sets and the party gets going under the beautiful Key West stars. Vicky Furman is the BEST! She made sure everything went smooth, from the wedding planning to everything about the day of and during the wedding!! Thanks to her, the entire night was perfect and went very smooth! I wouldn’t change anything about our wedding. I’m SO happy we had our wedding here and I would recommend this ceremony and receptiom venue to everyone! We recently had our reception at the Hemingway Home on January 6, 2018. We used Vicky Furman as our day of coordinator. We think the ultimate compliment we could pay both Vicky and the venue is that our reception exceeded anything we could've imagined. The setting couldn't have been more beautiful and the Hemingway Home was the perfect backdrop. A memory that will be with us forever is arriving prior to our guests and seeing the Hemingway Home set up for the reception; it felt like we were in a fairy tale. Our guests told us constantly how beautiful everything was and that they had never seen a more beautiful location for a wedding. We couldn't recommend this venue enough!

I can honestly say I have never been to a more beautiful wedding venue than the Hemingway Home. Every aspect of the day from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception was absolutely breathtaking. I can’t imagine a more beautiful property to have a wedding. The ceremony started at 6 pm which is about twilight and the natural light made it so romantic and beautiful. The wedding planner, Vicky Furman made it even more special. Vicky was such a tremendous help. She gave advice on what vendors to hire and kept us on track for everything we had to do. When we met with her about a month before the wedding she gave us such great suggestions on how to make the wedding special from recommending a late night snack to hiring a cigar rolling demonstration. We took all of her advice and it couldn’t have turned out more perfect. About a week before the wedding Key West was forecasted to have quite cold weather. Vicky called us immediately and told us to rent heaters right away before they were all rented. What a difference that made. Everyone was comfortable and had a wonderful time. I heard from many of our guests what a beautiful wedding it was. The day of the wedding I didn’t have to worry about anything. Vicky took charge and made sure it all went smoothly. She took care of every detail so that we could enjoy the day. She is a dream to work with. I can’t recommend her highly enough. Some things I appreciated about the venue: We had a couple of children and they were able to play on the grass while their parents enjoyed the wedding so that was a huge plus and the cats kept them entertained. I was concerned about having a smaller wedding (we had 55 guests) that it would look empty, but Vicky had it set up perfectly so it actually looked like a larger wedding. She also suggested we get lounge furniture and it worked great especially with the cigar rolling demonstration. Our guests really enjoyed it and told us it was one of the most beautiful weddings they've been to.

I am a huge Hemingway fan so being able to have our wedding ceremony at his home just added to the ambiance of out day. Vicky, Alexa & Anna were all amazing to work with. They were all very prompt to returning emails & offered any assistance when we didn't know what decision to make.
They only issue that I know of was that the day of the wedding they had a film crew on site & they film crew was not off site when they were suppose to be. Therefore we were rushed in the beginning of the evening & some attention to minor details were missed. But all in all it was a perfect ceremony!!!

My daughter and her husband were married at Hemingway Home five weeks after Hurricane Irma. Let me tell you … there is not a better wedding coordinator than Vicky Furman and there is not a better venue than the Hemingway Home. The staff worked tiredlessly to get the property back into beautiful shape after the hurricane. And the property was absolutely breathtaking and even more so with all the rentals and flowers put into place.

But at beautiful as the property is, the real jewel is Vicky. As the mother of the bride, I was able to fully enjoy the entire event and that is because Vicky had every single detail under control. She was absolutely wonderful in the weeks leading up to the wedding. She kept us on track and helped us coordinate all of the vendors and made sure we didn’t forget any details that make a wedding a seamless event. She was patient, calm, warm and fun with us but you could tell that she ran a tight ship in leaving no detail to chance. The vendors in the area like her and respect her and she knows them all. She really went above and beyond for us … even while her community was recovering from a natural disaster.

I absolutely give her my strongest recommendation – there truly is nobody better to handle your event. And Hemingway Home (with its many sweet residents) was a magical place to hold the wedding. In my daughter’s words, “Everything was perfect.” What more could a mother ask for?

Words can’t even describe how incredibly perfect my wedding was at the Hemingway House. I was worried my wedding would be postponed since it was scheduled so closely after hurricane Irma hit, but the staff worked as diligently as possible to get the grounds back to normal, and they most definitely succeeded. My planner from the Hemingway House, Vicky Furman, was an absolute dream to work with. She provided me with recommendations for every single wedding vendor I hired and I was completely blown away at how amazing it all turned out! Everything she did down to the last detail, whether it was finding a tent last minute, placing my Halloween décor in the perfect spot, or ensuring I had a beer in my hand during the wedding, were all important details that made this experience so special for me. My husband and I will never be able to thank her enough for helping us plan the best night of our lives. I HIGHLY recommend this venue because of the stunning views throughout the property, the amazing staff, great rates, and most importantly...the most adorable and friendliest furry wedding guests; the Hemingway cats!

My fiancé and I had planned a September wedding but Hurricane Irma came and change the plan. The folks at the Hemingway house work diligently to clean up the debris left from the hurricane and we were pleasantly surprised to be able to perform our wedding there. It was a beautiful ceremony that we will never forget we are very thankful for everything they did to accommodate our special day.

Similar to the other reviews you've probably read, all of my guests said this was the best wedding they had ever been to! Hemingway Home is absolutely stunning and our wedding day was more beautiful than we could have imagined. Vicky and Alexa were super accommodating and responsive via email (I was planning the wedding from London) and always happy to answer questions or provide advice. When we visited Key West in January, we came late and the museum was closed as they were setting up for another wedding, but Vicky let us come in to take a quick peek of what we could expect. She's the best! They even recommended the caterer we ended up using and our hotel (definitely stay at Lighthouse Court, it's right across the street and super convenient for getting ready!). Thank you so much for an amazing day!!

This January I got married at the Hemingway home in key west. It was absolutely stunning! There was nothing I would have changed! Planning a destination wedding was not an easy task and the best decision I made was picking the venue first. They helped me along the entire way, if I had questions or needed suggestions for other venders. And I highly recommend getting a day of planner with them. If I could give the Hemingway Home more stars I would. I would especially give our AMAZING wedding planner, Alexa Morgan 5 of her own. Alexa was there with me every step of the way and then some. I consider myself quite OCD and Alexa was more organized than me. I was blown away by how much she went above and beyond for us to make our day perfect. The history surrounding this venue is wonderful and the ground are gorgeous, I would definitely recommend looking into this venue if you were looking to get married in Key West. Also make sure Alexa is on your team! I can not say enough amazing things about her.

Our wedding at the Hemingway Home was a dream! We had a gorgeous morning ceremony with Vicky Furman as our officiant. Vicky is the absolute best!! She was with me every step of the way up until the big day on April 14. She was very responsive to emails and calls, gives awesome advice and suggestions, keeps you in the loop with all the details as the day gets closer, etc! Definitely hire Vicky to plan your wedding! Our morning at the Hemingway Home was magical thanks to Vicky!

The venue is naturally so beautiful, with amazingly well take care of grounds, that without any other decorations you will have a beautiful location! Most of all, the event planning staff goes above and beyond what you would expect to make sure your special day is as stress free as possible. They have great relationships and knowledge of other vendors around the island to help build the perfect wedding "team" - food, rentals, photography, etc. I wouldn't have been able to have the day that I did if it wasn't for Alexa Morgan at the Hemingway House.

If you're looking for a venue to get married in key west, Ernest Hemingway home should be your only thought. Added bonus Vicky Furman Our moment started 7 months ago back in August. I was so nervous to start planning our destination wedding, I myself am completely unorganized and scatter brained. For years, I have heard horror stories about wedding stress and times that went completely haywire. I knew Hemingway home was our place the first time I had visited, years before we even got engaged. So I picked up the phone and finally called. From our first call I knew everything was going to be ok. Vicky has such a brilliant way of calming your fears and apprehensions. It is truly a gift. For the next couple of months we spoke often. I would call or text with every idea and we even brainstormed together so everything was just right. Every vendor ( more like artists) she suggested were spot on. Fast forward to our wedding week. Vicky was so efficient and reliable. Following up on every detail, every moment. Day of was like a whirlwind of emotion and Vicky is the calming force that we needed. She made sure that me and my husband had quiet moments together, just us and let us take in our day. Even reminding us that it was time to eat. Knowing we hadn't had anything all day. It's little things like this that mean so much to me. Vicky has touched our hearts and become so dear to me. Needless to say our wedding was beyond a dream come true. The day after I looked at my husband and said " I wonder if other brides cry too because I won't be talking with Vicky every other day". I am sure they do!!. Sure you have your bridesmaids and your family on your day, however you need someone to have your back, and that's Vicky. Thank you is such a meager term in comparison to what you have done for us. You are a gem. I will treasure our memories for a lifetime. What a magical place for a wedding. The venue was exactly what I expected (I had been multiple times as a visitor before selecting it as our wedding venue). The wedding planner, Vicky Furman, was everything a bride could expect out of a planner and more. Planning a destination wedding was easier than I could have imagined, thanks to her. I never felt as though I was bothering her with my endless questions, phone calls, texts, and emails. If there were any problems during planning or the day of, I never knew about them because she had them handled. She was efficient, friendly, and professional. Having our ceremony and reception at the Hemingway Home was a dream come true and Vicky made it a reality. I would highly recommend both her services and the venue - definitely worth the money for anyone planning a destination wedding.

We had been to the Hemingway House several times in the past, so we weren't prepared to walk onto the property the night of our wedding and be completely amazed how how elegant and beautiful it looked. While most people might be expecting a beach wedding in Key West, it was so special to share our wedding in privacy with our closest friends and family. Many of our guests and friends remarked that they didn't know they held weddings at the Hemingway House, which always reminded of how unique our choice of venues was.

By renting the venue, you have the property to yourselves for the night. The walls are just high enough to keep people from staring in at your wedding (but just short enough to make people jealous) and gives you the feeling you are a million miles away from anyone else. The staff at the museum is beyond accommodating and met with us several months before the big day to go over all of our questions and help us in our planning.

All night (and in the days following) we had guests remaking on how special it was to be there for our wedding. People were in awe of the historical value, as well as they intimate and beautiful setting. Our guests loved that they could enjoy the property without the crowds of tourists...and that they were able to start a dance party on the second floor balcony.

We are so happy we chose to get married at the Hemingway House. It provided the perfect backdrop for the best day of our lives.

I was married at the Hemingway House in early December. I began working with Vicky as my wedding planner and then was also helped and married by Alexa. These ladies were the sweetest and most helpful wedding planners. All of my guests fell in love with the venue and the service was 5 star/outstanding! It ended up raining just moments after my ceremony and Vicky and Alexa still went above and beyond to accommodate us make the best of the situation. I wouldn't have changed a thing. I highly recommend anyone looking for an inexpensive yet romantic garden wedding to use these ladies and get married there. Definitely did not give up value or quality for the price. Worth every penny!

I had such an amazing experience working with Vicky Furman at the Hemingway Home that I don't even know where to start. First, I think it's important to mention that I planned my wedding over a year and a half in advance. Vicky always made sure to respond to any questions I had with the same thoroughness that one would expect to receive if their wedding was quickly approaching. Her expertise as well as her excellent and prompt communication exudes professionalism. She went above and beyond to ensure my wedding day went smoothly! I'm so grateful for not only having the opportunity to get married at the Hemingway house - which is beautiful in and of itself, but to have had the ability to rest assured knowing my event was placed in such competent and capable hands. I HIGHLY recommend both Vicky and Hemingway Home weddings to anyone seeking a unique and beautiful venue as well as such courteous and experienced staff. If I could give more than 5 stars, I most certainly would. A thousand thank yous!!!

So many venues in Key West tell a story and I believe the Hemingway House has the best one of all! I really wanted to have a nice outdoor wedding with personaility and privacy, I could not be happier! The landscaping is so beautiful I didn't have to spend much on flowers, I just let the venue show it's natural beauty and grace. The people who work at this house really love what they do and it shows! I believe one of the most important things you can do if you want to have a wedding at the Hemingway House is get a coordinator that is familiar with the venue and all the rules that are in place to protect the house, the cats and the grounds. Do that and it will be smooth sailing!

Dont hesitate! This venue was amazing! Before my husband and i decided to get married, we flew down from PA and met with Vicky, and she met with us without hesitation and once we knew this was the right place for us, Vicky and I emailed over 50 times to ensure me that had no unanswered questions. Ana married us and the ceremony was beautiful and very little stress. They think of everything and are very professional and sweet. If you love cats this it the perfect place!

We had our wedding last weekend at the Hemingway Home, and everyone said it was the best wedding they've ever been to. Everything was absolutely beautiful at the one-of-a-kind historic venue. We used Vicky Furman as our day-of planner, and she went above and beyond from start to finish. She offered so many tips and recommendations to help save us money and personalize our ceremony and reception. And she was text, email, and phone friendly to talk out all of the random Pinterest ideas that popped into my head. She was incredibly organized and a calming presence during our hectic wedding weekend. And when the rose petals for our aisle were trapped in South America because of Hurricane Matthew, she went to the local grocery store for us! I cannot recommend working with Vicky enough. She's the best and made sure our wedding day was the best.

Not only is the Hemingway Home a dream wedding venue, their whole team is a dream to work with! We had our ceremony and reception there on May 14, 2016. Vicky is incredible to work with. She's there to answer any question you may have and walk you through every step of the process. She is clearly a pro, and gives great advice on run of show and logistics for the day of. She is happy to work with any request you may have, and is truly there to make sure you have the best wedding day possible. You know you can count on her for everything! The is especially important when planning a Key West wedding while living all the way in NYC! She even found and returned a suit jacket that one of our groomsmen lost, and she made sure our wedding license was signed and mailed right away. If anything went wrong on our wedding day, we would have no idea, because Vicky handled everything perfectly! Our only piece of advice is to book this venue as early as possible. The dates fill up extremely quickly - understandably so!

We did our wedding reception here and I'd do it over and over again. What an amazing property. A huge seller is knowing it will always be here to visit, take people on tours and relive our wedding night. That is so special! Cocktail hour by the pool - awesome! We decided to put up a tent last minute due to potential for rain. I was pretty bummed about it, but it was actually still very beautiful and provided shade. No one knew it wasn't suppose to be that way. Getting married in mid-June with the heat/humidity I'd recommend ordering more fans to help cool off. We didn't think about it until that day when it was smoking hot. They were so great and placed all fans towards us, but a few more would of helped us Northern folk. The property is outstanding. There's really no need to order flowers. We only had a couple dozen roses to complete our centerpiece look. Which saves a lot of money. I really enjoyed the friendly cats that joined us for dinner and dancing. Such an amazing wedding reception venue! Thank you!

Wedding October 2015:
When Jessie (my bride) told me that she had zeroed in on Key West for our wedding (a place neither of us had ever been to), I had my concerns about how we were going to pull of a wedding from a thousand miles away with only one planned trip before our big day. We made it to Key West in December 2014 to see the Hemingway Home and Museum. We both were blown away at how beautiful the grounds were and how they matched the pictures that we had seen online. We met Vicky Furman (Wedding & Event Coordinator) for the Home and she took us on a tour of the grounds. During the tour, Vicky immediately made us feel welcome and encouraged to ask any questions that we might have. Most of the questions were mine :) She gave us great vendor recommendations and tips on how to plan the wedding from start to finish. Vicky went above and beyond for us from the first time we met with her until we rode off in our pedi-cab to Captain Tony's. Vicky also worked with our vendors in a seamless fashion and we had no issues with timing, deliveries, setup, breakdown, etc. and both Jessie and I were able to enjoy our day without a care in the world. One of the biggest things throughout the process that both Jessie and I noticed, was that Vicky and her team made us feel really special. The business of weddings in Key West is busy and your big day will fly by before you know it. But, we really felt like Vicky treated us like we were friends having a party at her house :) We highly recommend the Hemingway Home and Museum for any wedding or event that you might be planning. We had to pinch ourselves quite a few times, its like you broke into Ernest Hemingway's house and you are just waiting to get kicked out. We were able to get incredible pictures inside and outside of the house. All of our guests loved it and got to see the entire outside grounds of the venue between our reception in the gardens, cocktail hour by the pool, and our party on the lawn with a dance-f

The Hemingway Home was the perfect location for our wedding! We had been there on a trip prior to our engagement and when I called to check availability Anna and Vicky were so easy to work with. They also recommended our caterer and musician and both were equally as fantastic. We had a small intimate wedding in the garden area near the ceremony arch and it could not have been more beautiful. This property is absolutely beautiful, whimsical with all the six-toed cats, rich with history, and has the charming Key West appeal; it was everything we were looking for!! Their wedding coordinator Vicky, was so helpful any time we had a question, very professional, and just easy to work with. We weren't familiar with local vendors, so the recommendations on their website were an excellent source and made planning our destination wedding a little easier. Also, the property allows for seamless transition from ceremony area to cocktail hour (by the pool) to reception; each area flows into the next one. The house and lush foliage in the gardens photographed beautifully!!! We highly recommend you visit this venue and see if it works for you : )

We were on a limited budget, and the HH is one of the most affordable venues Key West has to offer couples who want to save money and still have a beautiful setting to get married. This place will forever always hold a special place in my heart. Having our wedding at the Hemingway House was absolutely magical. Our guests raved about how beautiful the tropical grounds were and how it was the most beautiful wedding. Working with Anna and Vicky the months beforehand was great, any questions I asked they responded promptly back with an answer and they kept me on track with what I needed to do on my end. The list of vendors they provided made it easy to book and gave me the peace of mind knowing that I would be working with professionals who knew the property well. Many couples come to the Keys looking to get married on the beach, but to have this wonderful historic home filled with so much history in Key West for the setting for our ceremony and reception was truly unique and unforgettable!!

I had my dream wedding at the Hemingway Home. It could not have been more perfect, we heard afterwards from so many guests that it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and much of the credit is due to the HH and Vicky for all their help. If you book this venue I highly recommend hiring Vicky as your planner. I couldn't have done it without her. She is very responsive, encouraging and knowledgable. Even the wedding party was commenting on how amazing she was. She knows every vendor and helped put the entire thing together which was much needed since this was a destination wedding and I had never come to the property. With her help it was so smooth I didn't need to spend the money to come out and visit before the wedding. The grounds are beautiful, and the history of the building is so meaningful. The cats were fun and even though I'm allergic it didn't bother me. They were a great addition to the wedding. Overall I'm in love with this venue. I can't wait to come back again and visit someday. We thought of a few places to get married over the years and then someone suggested the Hemingway home because of my crazy love for cats. we took a visit down there a year ago and Vicki showed us around at night during one of their events and we got to see what's its like when its not just a museum, It was truly amazing. And what cat lady wouldn't want all the cats running around during their special night?!?! You have 3 different areas... one for the ceremony, one for cocktail area, and lastly one for the reception. every one was great to work with too! I loved my wedding there!

How many people can say that they were married at Ernest Hemingway's home? Honestly? If you are looking for a timeless, romantic, tropical (without being on the beach) wedding with a special flare, this is your venue! The history alone is charming, but the actual look of the venue is absolutely gorgeous. Key west is an extremely laid-back town, so if you are looking for GLAM it is going to be hard to find here. We truly were able to have glamour at our wedding at this venue by adding a white tent with lights and chandelier in the reception area. Anna was extremely helpful and professional, helping me think ahead of all of the timeline details I didn't even think to plan! (for an added $1,000 she will be your day-of coordinator, which I HIGHLY recommend!!)
The venue itself does have some nice lighting, we had an evening wedding and only needed to rent string lights in the reception and ceremony area. Sometimes vendors will try to sell other uplighting and add-ons but we were fine without!
You may have heard of Ernest Hemingway's cats, which have descendants living on the property! We had a few come and say hello, but really weren't bothered by them at all. Even folks with allergies thought it was a charming bonus!
I would highly recommend this venue for a magical, romantic wedding!

We recently got married at the Hemingway Home and it was AMAZING! The venue is so gorgeous and Vicky was so awesome to work with- she made the planning fun :)

We wanted to make sure we got the right mix of elegant and laid back in a wedding venue, but most importantly, we wanted it to be fun! The way events flow at the Hemingway Home is so natural and you get three different types of scenery on just one acre of land. Guests start at the side of the house for the ceremony in a tropical garden setting, they move to the pool area for cocktails on the patio by the water, and then onto the lawn for dinner and dancing. The idea of having a party in Hemingway’s backyard was just so appealing. There is a lot going on at the Hemingway House for guests to enjoy – from gardens to explore to cats to play with! (Ironically, my husband is allergic to cats! Don’t worry, since it was an outdoor event, he was just fine!)

We initially selected the Hemingway Home for our Key West destination wedding based on the gorgeous photos we'd seen online of the space. In reality, it was so much better. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect place for my husband and I to have tied the knot. The grounds were beautifully kept, the space is romantic and picturesque, especially at night once the sun goes down.

Vicky, the wedding coordinator on site, was simply amazing to work with. From the very beginning, she put us at ease and helped guide us through the process. Her recommendations for other local wedding vendors were phenomenal and she worked seamlessly with all of our vendors on the day of. Our guests RAVED about how beautiful the space was for a wedding and we couldn't have been any more pleased.

We feel so lucky to have gotten married at such a beautiful and historical landmark. Thank you to Vicky for helping us make our vision for our wedding day a reality.

We had a wonderful time at the Hemingway House for our rehearsal dinner. It was a awesome setting and our party took a private tour.

We have booked the Hemingway house for May 2015 for our vow renewal. Vicki, Dave and the GM have been so professional and caring. We are so glad our Caterer Amy from Catered affairs recommended them and we look forward to having our celebration with them.

We had a story book wedding...no pun intended.
Everything was so beautiful. Most guest could not understand why we were getting married in the Keys and not doing it on the beach...well they all understood when they saw the house. We did all vintage and they helped with center pieces as Hemingway's books and cigar boxes. We saved money because a place this beautiful needs very little decorating.

DAVE IS THE BEST EVER. He said to us early on "Your guests are going to leave here and say it's the best wedding they have ever been to." ABSOLUTELY. I didn't think there was any way to make the Heminway House any more beautiful, but Dave did it without even blinking an eye. He told me everything I needed to know and asked me questions about things I hadn't thought about, which made our day flawless.

During the rehearsal, a friend said "expect 3 things to go wrong tomorrow and you will be fine." Well, my hair and makeup took longer than expected and a bridesmaid had to be sewn into her dress. Neither of which happened during the wedding, because there were no mistakes. Everything was so perfect and that is completely because of Dave (and Anna!) I can't thank you enough for making our day so beautiful. It would not have happened without you.

BEST VALUE IN KEY WEST. Hands down. Thank you thank you thank you!

Dave Gonzales and the Hemingway Home & Museum were wonderful. It is such a unique and special location, people will never forget your event. The place is beautiful, and Dave was a wonderful officiant/planner. He has been doing this at the Hemingway Home for a while and knows exactly how to run an event. He even entertained the children during parts of the evening and he worked with all the vendors to make sure things went smoothly. Plus, how many places are there where you can have cats running around during your wedding? We loved it!

Absolutely perfect location. The coordinator at the Hemingway was so helpful, he even let us sign our marriage license in the writing studio at Hemingway's desk. Gorgeous lights were strung above reception.

Beautiful venue for a magical outdoor evening ceremony and reception - dancing under the stars, cocktails and cigars on the poolside patio, and the architecture of the home as a perfect backdrop - couldn''t have been better! And Dave Gonzalez is a pleasure to work with - he takes care of everything!

Dave Gonzales, the event director, is amazing. He went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was perfect! He even helped out when I had issues with the caterer which he definitely didn't have to. He has a lot of experience with coordinating weddings at the Hemingway House that makes you feel a lot more comfortable and less stressed.

The venue it's self is just breath taking. There is no need for decorations because the landscaping is immaculate and it definitely made for some AMAZING photos. Choosing the Hemingway House was THE BEST decision I made. Thinking about it now...I will always be able travel back (and so will my kids and my kid's kid's) and the house will always be there and look the same since it's a historical landmark!

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VENUE TO ALL COUPLES GETTING MARRIED IN KEY WEST!
