Incredible Photographer

When I came across Eric's website, I knew immediately that he was the photographer I wanted for my wedding day. I searched high and low for months looking for someone who could execute something edgy, creative, and tastefully dramatic but continued to come across the "cookie-cutter" in the Southeast. I will never forget the moment that when I saw Eric's website and work...I was sold and couldn't wait to book him.

Eric is a gem and meshed well with every personality in our wedding! He is approachable, easy to work with and helped capture the most special memories on our wedding day. I cannot say enough about how incredible he is. Not only was the process a great experience, but the end product is amazing! The photos are EXACTLY what I had envisioned - I can't believe these are MY wedding pictures that I will have forever - they're perfect!! Thank you, Eric!

Best wedding photographer EVER!!

Eric has been amazing from the beginning to the end and even after the wedding!
He was attentionnate to the details (no crazy hair in the way!) Most guests did not speak english, but Eric knew how to make everyone confortable.
The end result is just WOW! Would recommend to everyone! Worth every penny!!!

Real life fairytale

I can not say enough to describe how pleased we were to have Eric document our wedding through photography. He made the entire processes so easy and so comfortable and the photos were truly something out of a fairytale. I can not recommend him enough and will cherish the memories he captured for a lifetime.

Eric was my first choice for my wedding photographer and I am so happy with the results! Eric listens very well to the vision and ideas of the couple. The only choice for photography in coastal North Carolina

On coastal North Carolina, we have our fair share of weddings. The weather, beaches, and waterfront properties make it a perfect spot to marry. As a former owner of a stationery store specializing in wedding invitations, I got to know many vendors around town. When it came to planning both of my daughters’ weddings, there was only one photographer I would use—Eric von Bargen Wedding and Lifestyle Photography. Not only is Eric an exceptional human, but his talent takes wedding photography to a new level. If you don’t believe me, check out his website. You won’t be disappointed. He’s easy to work with, and he will make sure the bride comes first. He has out-of-the-box ideas and a unique spin on weddings. I’m a fan, and I will recommend him to anyone who asks.

Spectacular!

Eric is such a soulful and amazing photographer. His work is spectacular! We have only seen the teaser from our wedding and that alone was breathtaking. We can't wait to see all of our photos!!! Absolutely amazing!

Eric was so wonderful to work with! He made it very easy to communicate with him leading up to the wedding weekend and on the actual day you didn't even notice him taking pictures - which helped the entire day be seamless. His 80% candid / 20% staged photo mentality is amazing - the candids he took are some of my absolute favorites from our wedding.

I do not even know where to start! Eric did our engagement photos, my bridal portraits, and our wedding ceremony and reception! Every single time Eric sends me our photographs I am blown away at the quality, the number of prints he sends, and just the overall artistic quality of the pictures! Eric was the first vendor I hired for our wedding and I did not regret it for one second! Eric was apart of our special day from the beginning to the end and as nervous as I was about how I would look in the photos, Eric always reassured me that they would be perfect! And they were! I cannot wait to see our wedding ceremony and reception photos!

Eric managed to create beautifully artistic photos, allowing us to feel the love and community from our special day. The photography tells our story from beginning to end. My husband and I had a hard time finding a photographer that we agreed upon. Most of the wedding photographers out there are very cookie cutter and look much the same. I knew I would have a hard time finding someone my fiance would agree upon being that he does photography as a hobbie. I stalked wedding planner's instagram pages and fell upon the most stunning photo and then searched to find Eric's website. I was blown away by his work as was my husband (finally!). Eric was super flexible, communicative, easy to work with, friendly and a just a nice dude. The day of our outdoor wedding was a complete washout down pour and Eric tackled the rain and still provided stunning photos from our wedding. Do yourself a favor and book him for your project. Eric is one of the most amazing photographers I've ever met. I myself am an amateur photographer who has don't some shoots including weddings and let me tell you the pressure is to easy and at the the same time you have to be creative. In our search I wanted to find a photographer who would be different from the norm and who would work with my attitude since I have some experience, Eric was and is a perfect fit. We had planned an outside wedding and unfortunately it rained and Eric first of all not only suffered thru the weather but went the extra mile to make sure that we forgot it was raining on our wedding day ! When you hire a photographer for your special day you want a photographer who doesn't just treat the day like another day at the job and thats Eric . He sees the opportunity to be creative with every situation and with whatever might be thrown his way. We had a plan but due to the rain we had to kind of "wing" it the entire day and Eric was right there letting his creative juices flow and going along with whatever changes we made and truly making the best or every situation and just being creative on the spot. Eric was such an amazing photographer to work with that not only are we friends now but I've already reserved him for the future for our baby pics! and who knows what else !

We love Eric! He is a true artist and has mastered his craft. His ability to capture the candid emotions of our day was incredible. I loved Eric! He definitely focuses more on the bride and groom. Quality is amazing and takes really unique shots. Definitely not your typical cheesy Pinterest style. My one regret is I did not get more father/daughter pictures or mother/son pictures. We got some "staged" family photos" but I wish I would have gotten more in the moment photos with my father or other family members.

Eric stepped in at the last minute to take our wedding pictures of the two of us and we are so grateful he did. We'd never met him before only dealt with him on email and he made us feel right at ease as soon as we met him. I can honestly say I could not be happier with the photos and we had a wonderful time having them taken.

Eric is amazing. We initially were going to have a spring wedding, very traditional and planned a year out. We then decided to completely change our plans, and in 6 weeks changed to a wedding/party in Boston in the middle of winter (what could possibly go wrong with a wedding in Boston in the winter, right?). Eric went out of his way to change schedule, flew to Boston early to make sure he was there with any potential weather delays and created the most amazing wedding photos we have ever seen. He is professional, dependable, unbelievably talented and we could not have asked for anything more. Top notch and then some...

Eric was a true joy to work with. He was professional but approachable, easy to communicate with, and quite possibly the easiest photographer I've ever worked with. To be frank, his work speaks for itself though. His talent and hard work could never be measured in words or in "stars". He made me feel so comfortable and natural in front of the camera. He made sure we got every shot we wanted from my Shot List but yet, we never once felt that he was "in our face" taking photos all day. We have just begun to receive our photos and they are truly breathtaking. He captures much more than just the day, or the smile, or the cake cutting. He captures the real emotion in that moment. And now, when I look at each photo, I get to feel that beautiful/intense/overwhelming emotion over and over again. What more could you ask for?! I highly recommend EVB to everyone!!

Eric was so easy to work with. He made me (the bride) feel very comfortable, had awesome ideas for unique, classy photographs, and poured his heart into editing and giving me the best wedding photos I could have ever imagined. Eric primarily focuses on the bride and groom and their big day. He creates photos that come to life, and truly tell a story of your big day. He does photos of the family as well, however if you are in to taking a lot of the family photos, I would hire an additional photographer so Eric can focus more on the Bride/Groom. Eric is a great person, a great friend, and extremely gifted at what he does (his website proves it!) I highly recommend Eric if you want high quality, non-generic photographs and memories that are captured forever.

Eric von Bargen is an amazing photographer, not only because he takes amazing photos, but also because he takes charge when he had to in order to get the formal family and bridal party photographs over with so that we didn't have to miss out in any of the fun. He had fun ideas for photo-opts and he was up for anything! Also, during the reception he was like a chameleon and captured beautiful, yet candid moments. I was confident that he would capture everything important that I was experiencing and that he was working behind-the-scenes to capture the things that I was missing because, let's face it, a bride can't be everywhere at once! Also, he really seemed to take to heart my notes for "must-take photos" because he captured them all and more. All-in-all, the pictures turned out AMAZING. They were the perfect balance of creative, artistic, and classic. I truly would recommend Eric Von Bargen to a couple looking for a photographer to capture and develop artistic photographs of their wedding. Eric von Bargen photography was worth every penny and worth the waiting time to get the photos back because they were truly works-of-art.

Eric is awesome!! We couldn't be happier and more grateful that he was our photographer. Our wedding was in my sisters backyard on a sunny day on the lake. This is not a venue Eric would have experience shooting at and I am sure the extreme change in lighting and our set up made it difficult.

He has a natural eye and took amazing pictures even with the lighting and new venue! We did not have to worry at all about our pictures!

I honestly didn't even know he was around most of the time and he captured some amazing moments!

He is creative, timely in his response, professional, and easy to work with.

Even 8 months later our pictures are constantly complimented.

We couldn't be happier. We love our pictures and will treasure them forever!!!
Your pictures will last forever and the day of the wedding seems to go by so quickly. You want a great photographer and Eric is that! We highly recommend him!!!

Eric von Bargen is an amazing photographer. Hands down the best photographer in town! Unique and artistic photographs, unlike the "average" wedding photographer. Even some of my vendors commented on how amazed they were that he wasn't out of LA or NYC because people of his talent are usually paid to travel for destination weddings.

Eric is an incredible photographer for many reasons. My pictures are so unique and reflect our style more than a typical bridal photography style. So many photographers need a whole team of second shooters now. Eric doesn't need a second shooter he captures everything. My husband and I were so amazed he captured our ceremony from every angle, even from the balcony and we never noticed him.

We felt comfortable with Eric, we had fun and were able to be ourselves while he captured all of the special moments. A lot of photographers aren't in tune to making you and your guests look your best; there were no double chin, arm pit, stuffing your face with food shots. Eric made sure every photograph was flattering.

Our wedding day flew by: the cake, favors, food, everything is gone, but when you get those pictures back and it's all you have left of your day, you want to make sure you have a photographer who will make those memories last. We don't just want to look at our photographs, we want to show them off to everyone.

I cannot say enough about how incredible Eric is. If you don't want the same boring thing you see all the time, Eric is your photographer. He is AMAZING!

Eric is a true artist and while he may seem laidback when speaking/meeting with him, his passion comes out in his photographs. He has an eye for what will work. My husband and I wanted to be photographed in a specific location, alone, before going to the reception and Eric was completely flexible and those are the best photos from the whole day. He is very hands off and in the background during the reception and his photos would fall under a 'photojournalism' category which we loved. The edited photographs we received are absolutely beautiful and we couldn't be happier. The day of, Eric was very calm and professional as well which always helps with wedding day nerves. We were recommended by a family friend to Eric and planned our wedding from out of town, so while we were nervous planning from afar and only having met him once, I would absolutely recommend Eric to friends and family. It was a pleasure working with Eric and our wedding photographs are stunning!

I have never had so many amazing pictures taken of me, my friends, my animals and my bridal party! He was professional, dedicated and extremely experienced! He captured the most amazing moments and made the pictures look surreal. He photographed shots that only a seasoned photographer could capture. He brought several cameras with him and was very prepared. I would not let anyone else photograph any events but him!

Eric's work is unbelievably amazing. I spent several weeks looking for a wedding photographer and looked all over the country. I was shocked to find that my top choice was just 3 hours drive from me. My wedding pictures are so beautiful - as are all the other pictures I've seen on his website. They look like they came out of a magazine. Eric has an incredible artistic eye. We have gotten so many compliments. I can't think of a single reason why anyone would be unhappy with Eric as their photographer. We loved Eric, he is one of a kind and his work is so unique! Not only is he a great photographer but a great person as well. He is always very inviting and friendly and welcomes me into his home to meet his wife and family! Eric was very easy to work with and was very understanding especially when I changed my destination wedding in Costa Rica to Wrightsville Beach. As promised his work was delivered on time as well! Eric is an amazing photographer with even better style. I LOVE how he edits his work. He was very willing to work with me since I was on a budget and had a very small wedding. Eric has technical ability and the gift of vision that exceeds the talent of other photographers in his field. He is great to work with and delivered images that are stunning. I honestly can't think of any reason you would want another photographer at your wedding.

I believe I am a tough critique when it comes to photographic images. I have a degree in fine art with a concentration in photography. I could not have shot my wedding as well as Eric did! I am thrilled with his work.

Eric's talent is amazing. Extremely professional with an amazing attention to detail and the ability to capture the setting and subjects in a way like none have seen. My pictures are unbelievable. I love Eric's work, but the only thing that I wish was that on the big day I wish he had grabbed me for some alone time shots...just something creative and sweet for me to show my kids one day. Eric takes beautiful photos, but unfortunately I wasn't in love with my wedding photos :( I didn't specify certain types of shots I wanted, but assumed based on his portfolio etc. that we would have certain kinds. But we didn't get any close ups or super artistic shots which I was pretty bummed about. There is only one close up of my face from the day and it was while I was getting ready. The portraits of my husband and I are all very prom-posed and not natural or candid with movement, and they don't have any depth of field. One of my favorite things about professional photography is the blurred background which makes the subjects stand out and the only 2 photos like this that we had are of wedding guests. We had tons of downtime before our ceremony and wish we had been directed to take more photos because we were just sitting around. I had also inquired about videography and he had told me he would be taking a lot of videos throughout the day/night. The only one we received was a phone one from the ceremony so I wish I had hired a videographer. :( I think the work could be beautiful because I have seen tons of other beautiful photos by him, but you maybe have to specify what types of photos you are truly looking for.

Thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns about your experience with me. I'm very sorry that you weren't 100% satisfied with your wedding photos, as that is my goal with every wedding I photograph. With each wedding I have to take into consideration the restrictions from the venue, weather, scheduling, etc, so I try to find the best locations, angles, and time in order to get the most artistic shots I can. Unfortunately your wedding day proved to be very hot so I wanted to limit everyone's time outdoors prior to the ceremony. Also I did review your gallery and found that in the over 800 photographs that you received, there were definitely more than two 'blurred background' and movement/candid shots, and many that did include you and your husband. I am sorry if you felt there should be more. I will go back and review the unedited images again to see if there are any others that fit that criteria. While I do sometimes take short videos of the couple during various times throughout the ceremony and reception as a bonus or surprise, my primary focus is photographing the event and I am not able to take extensive video, so I am sorry if there was a misunderstanding about that. I take photographing weddings very seriously because I know how important the day is to everyone involved. Each wedding is different so will obviously be represented differently in the images, but I feel that the images you received were the same caliber as all of my work.
