I booked Encore Mobile DJ at a bridal show, because they were having a good deal that I couldn't pass up. I'm glad I did end up choosing them! I don't know how they do it, but they are able to match the perfect DJ to a couple. Ravi was our DJ and he was FANTASTIC. At our in person meeting with Ravi, we were able to discuss our music styles/tastes. My husband and I were nervous about the music aspect because we didn't want the "typical" wedding music played for our reception. I work at a wedding venue, and I hear the same songs over and over again, and it gets tiring. I wasn't sure how Ravi would take that information, but he was super COOL about it, and excited even, to get to play some "out of the box" music! After our meeting with Ravi, I can honestly tell you my husband and I were so excited for our reception, specifically because we knew Ravi understood what we wanted, and we knew it was going to be a good time! Fortunately, we were right! Ravi did a FANTASTIC job as our DJ and MC! He had the perfect amount of energy, and his playlist was AWESOME! He really knew how to get everyone out on the dance floor! He played a fun ice breaker game to get the dancing started, by asking the bridal party to come to the dance floor and dance with a partner, then once he told us to, we would go grab a new dance partner from the guests that were seated. The game worked! Pretty soon everyone was out on the dance floor having a great time! We were dancing all night, which is odd for my husband and I, because we never dance, but the atmosphere and music kept us on the dance floor! Ravi really knew what he was doing. Everyone had such a great time! For our last dance, I had requested Tiny Dancer, which Ravi played, but because of his genius, he knew just one more song needed to be played to end the night with a bang. He played "Shout!" and everyone loved it. It was the perfect ending to a PERFECT day. I'm so GLAD we had Ravi as our DJ! He was the BEST!!!

Katie from Encore was so great to work with. She was sweet, upbeat, and fun. She kept our reception party going and did everything we asked of her. She was by far the best vendor at our wedding.

Andrew, with Encore Mobile DJ's, was fantastic! He was on point with the timing for our ceremony music, chose the perfect selection of music for our reception, and was a fantastic MC. Before booking with Encore, I was a little worried about how to select a DJ for our wedding, because many DJ's can be a bit cheesy, but Andrew was not cheesy in the least! He was very professional, and knew exactly how to read the room to keep the party going. We provided him a short list of "must play" music, he gathered requests from our guests, and he compiled them into the perfect playlist to keep people on the dance floor. I cannot say a single negative thing about him, or Encore, as a whole. Even their prices were very affordable, compared to all the other DJ's I checked out. My procrastination/indecisiveness paid off (for once), because they offered specials throughout the year, and I was able to get a great discount. I highly recommend Encore, and especially Andrew!

Katie was an amazing DJ at our wedding! She kept the guests involved and kept everyone dancing the entire time! Her hula-hoop skills also were a hit!

Highly recommended for wedding DJ. Listened to our requests and got a feel for our preferences in a pre-event meeting and then perfectly integrated it all the day of.

Katie was also extremely helpful with the overall event during the day, not just playing music.

It's safe to say when it comes to music, I'm eclectic at best. So choosing music for my wedding was no small task because it's so tough to choose what I like best. After meeting with Brett, I was so excited to get my wedding started! He brought up occasions for songs I hadn't even considered yet, helped me narrow down songs that would fit best at certain points in the wedding, and scoured the internet with me searching for the perfect versions of my songs.

Now on to the important things. The day of the wedding came and like any normal wedding, we were behind schedule, but Brett made it a breeze. He made sure to check in with our wedding party to ensure they knew when to walk down the aisle, if he had to loop the music in case of delays and when I would walk. He also made sure he was on the same page with our officiant with both the music and hand held mics he provided. Our ceremony was outdoors and our reception was indoors, but that was a non issue for Encore. They set up two speakers outdoors, then when it came time to transition to the reception, he was able to set up everything in 5 minutes! As the bride, I didn't even notice where the speakers were, so it didn't ruin my vision of a beautiful outdoor scene. Everything flowed so perfectly, it felt like a dream!

The reception I wish I could do over again because it was such a blast! Brett kept the guests energized and cheering for us throughout the day and played fantastic music that everyone wanted to dance to (even those family members who claim to never dance). I had so many people tell me they didn't want to leave our wedding because it was such a fun party! The thing I will most remember about Brett is during the reception, he went to every table taking song requests, and came to the wedding party table to make sure my groom and I had a chance to eat enough before doing any other activities. These guys are the reason I would gladly do my wedding all over again, I didn't want it to end!

Dmitriy, our professional was not given a multitude of clear instruction or direction prior to our wedding, but he instantly became a hit drawing and engaging the attention of the group into a very positive and lasting reception. As the Master of Ceremony he was able to make adjustments so subtly to cater to the precise needs of every situation. His music selection was impeccable. His timing was unmatched. My only regret is letting him pack up and leave at the end of the night! If you get a chance... Ask him to break dance battle and prepare to be dazzled! Bell Bell, the owner was incredibly quick to correspond with me and set everything up. From the time I sent the first email requesting information until the deposits were paid and details ironed out was approximately 24 hours. Upon our final (in person) consultation they demonstrated some extra options to enhance the experience, which I would HIGHLY recommend. We will be using encore and Dmitriy again for our events.

Encore mobile DJs was awesome. For our wedding we had Katie for our DJ. She was sweet, pleasant, and professional. She took charge of the event and guided it along smoothly and always let us know what was coming up next. This created a seamless night. She created a terrifically fun environment and we all had a blast - she knew exactly how to create the perfect mood. She kept everyone dancing all night - we could not have been happier with her service!

I would not hesitate to recommend this DJ to a friend. I cannot say enough how much we appreciated this service. Dmitriy was exceptional. He kept the party going with music that we had selected and added a few of his own songs to really step it up a notch. The music blended together well and everyone had a great time. He also did a great job of keeping the flow of the evening moving at a nice pace. He got the crowd on their feet and cheering. What a great time!

OMG, DJ Harvey was great, he was really professional! You will get a COMPLETE professionalism from the get go, seriously. Dmitriy was an instrumental part of our wedding. He acted as the MC, provided great dance music, and even entertained our guests (he is a very talented break dancer!) when there was a very brief technical difficulty. He also fixed the technical difficulty very quickly and it wasn't a trouble at all. He showed up at the venue early to make sure everything was ready to go and he indulged some of our quirkier ideas for the wedding. He encouraged us to try fun new things that we hadn't thought of ourselves (group dances where he acted as a teacher, grand entrance where he lined up all our family and friends to cheer for us, etc.). And, of course, he played excellent dance music for all ages. He even gave the mic to my 5-year-old niece, so she could do a Katy Perry sing along. I would definitely recommend Encore Mobile DJs to anyone getting married in the greater Portland area.

Our DJ, Scott, was FUNtastic. He was easy to work with, on time, got himself set up in a timely matter. He was very professional. He helped make the reception lots of fun. Checked with the bride and groom to make sure they were having fun. We found this vendor at a wedding show so wasn't to sure what to expect, they far exceeded our exceptions. Great music choices while getting the guests involved. The only disappointment we had was we wished there would have been a wireless mic available for the ceremony, but I am sure that would have taken some more equipment ! :)

Dimitri was our DJ and he was great. He kept the party going from the moment the reception started until the last song. There was never a time when the dance floor was empty. I don't have anything to say except this man needs to keep doing what he is doing. He was totally professional and as a charismatic individual that he is made our wedding an event to remember. I still get people asking me who our DJ was, that he was fantastic and so much fun! I had underestimated the value of a DJ, the work they put in, and the effect on your event. He kept our guests so entertained and engaged with the party that our party lasted well past closing time-something I had worried greatly over! His recommendation for up lighting was spot on for the space we where in, McMenamins Kennedy school-it added so much to creating a spectacular atmosphere and made our wedding pictures of the party so cool! I recommend him a hundred times over, he by far exceeded my expectations, and had a much better vibe than the other people we interviewed. The cost for this was nothing compared to others, nor to the awesome experience we had-truly he made our event a night to remember!

I can't say enough amazing things about Brett and his team. Brett was the first and only DJ we really considered for our wedding- not only was he a great value and right on budget- but I'd also heard great things about him previously. He lived up to the hype and more. He was extremely accommodating for the obscure music choices we made. He went out of his way and above and beyond to make sure we had a rocking party. I don't think I've ever seen more people on the dance floor at a wedding. The fact that he took note of funny or personal stories during the toasts and incorporated them into his music selections (i.e. the sister of the groom mentioning she used to make the groom watch and sing along to Grease with her as kids, and hearing a Grease medley during the dancing just for them). Or his surveying of guests during downtime for things that they would like to hear. Or that he brought himself and another main DJ to run things since his wife was expecting and close to her due date, in case he needed to leave in a hurry. The forethought, the attention to us as a couple and what we were interested in, just everything. I truly can't say enough.

Best DJ service ever! Our son's wedding reception was in an upscale venue, but we wanted a family friendly party. Brett did a perfect job of getting both the grown ups and children into the fun through music and games. He's versatile and professional and just a wonderful person to work with. Many friends asked how we found such a great DJ. He really made the party.

Brett was amazing! Not only did he listen my groom and I, but he kept the party going all night. Everyone was saying how incredible the music choice was, when in fact Brett was the one making selections. We told him what genres and he went with it.

Brett had the great idea of having a dance off between girls and boys. It was an amazing idea seeing that most of the boys took their shirts off.

Even after the wedding was all said and done I later saw Brett at a function where who knew exactly who I was and even remember little details about the night that I had soon forgot. He even remembered one of my bridesmaid favorite song and then continued to play it while we were there.

I highly recommend Brett and Encore Mobile DJ! They made my day complete with non stop kick ass dancing!

I am so glad that my husband and I found Encore for our wedding! Brett was professional, responsive, and enthusiastic from the beginning. His online setup is very well organized and easy to use, and has quite a variety of music in the database. He was completely in touch with the style we wanted and listened to everything we had to say. He was also able to mix up musical genres without straying from the vibe of the celebration. He definitely knows how to warm up the crowd, and does so with the utmost professionalism. We had so many people come up to us to say that they had never been to a wedding that was such a party! Brett Bell is hands down the best DJ in the NW! As frequent wedding guests, we have yet to see anyone who even comes close to his caliber. One of our wedding guests said, "Man, your DJ wouldn't let us rest! We were on the dance floor all night! He wouldn't let us sit down!" We are still getting raves just like this almost a month after our wedding. Do yourselves a favor, and book Brett for every event you want to blow out of the water! You won't be disappointed!

First and foremost, Brett Bell is one of the most professional people I have ever worked with. My wedding coordinator provided me Brett's name, and although is was a little more expensive (only $50 more) than the other potential DJ's, he was the only one who submitted a proposal of what he offers. I liked that because I was able to see exactly what I was going to get.

His website was easy to manuever through, and I liked the fact that I was able to request songs ahead of time. What was even more fun, was that my guests were allowed to request songs that they wanted to hear too.

My fiance' /now husband and I met with Brett 5 days before the wedding. What a terrific experience! He listened to what we wanted, and he delivered the day of my wedding reception. Our crowd was over 40 years of age, and that was the music he played. I told Brett that I wanted a "fun" event, and that is what he delivered. He wasn't a passive DJ, he commanded the floor, and got everybody up and dancing, he got everybody up and participating. What an incredible night! I am not the only one to think so, I have had guest after guest say that my wedding was the best they have ever been too, that they had so much fun, and that the atmosphere was energetic. It was fantastic, and thanks to Brett, an evening, I can only hope to repeat one day!

Brett knows how to keep the party alive! With all of the different types of music requests that we had, Brett was able to transition from one to another in a way that kept everything moving. Slow,country,funky and rockin', all in it's proper time. AMAZING!!!! He even got out on the dance floor and showed us all how to slide dance. Very professional and in touch with the mood/vibe of the reception party. I would reccomend him for any & every event that requires a dj.

Hired Encore for our event and they were first class! Great tools online and even better customer service. At the day of the event they were there EARLY and had a really nice set up. I appreciate all the attention to detail and working things out with other vendors. During the event Dj Brett and Dj Nova rocked the house! I used Encore Entertainment as the DJ/entertainment for my daughter's wedding at a local vineyard on September 9, 2012. They did an outstanding job! I was really impressed with how Brett (the DJ and owner) got the audience participating and on the dance floor. He was extremely professional, timely and a pleasure to work with. I cannot preach enough about how great Bret and his company, Encore Mobile DJs was for our wedding. It was top notch services and entertainment and I couldn't ask for a better DJ. What other DJ would take as much time as he did to cater our Greek-themed wedding, which of course, included Greek music. I also worked closely with him for our Slide show, which he helped manage as well. He put in a lot of time and effort with the planning process.

The night of the event was a blast. We had so many compliments from guests following the wedding about our DJ. And the best part was--he was right out there doing the crazy Greek dances along side with us, as well as lead the Conga line!! He definitely kept the crowd energized and going all night.

Also, I cannot say enough about his website. It is so well organized and put together. We were able to add, edit, delete our song list with ease and at our own convenience. And songs were so incredibly easy to search for and upload onto our personal list (this coming from a non-techy person too). A great bonus is the website even allowed our guests to visit the link and make song requests. I posted that on Face Book and people really enjoyed that plug. The website also helped with ease for the Reception portion. More specifically it set the stage for the time line of the reception so we can be on the same page as our DJ with the agenda. That was a blessing to have some direction for that. The cost for his services are so incredibly reasonable too. I couldn't ask for a better DJ for our wedding. Big kudos to Encore Mobile DJs!! I also enjoyed the mini video Bret put together and posted on Face Book following our wedding. It was a very nice surprise and an additional treat to top it all off. A+++++++++

Brett was extremely easy to work with. He has some amazing systems in place, that other DJ's don't offer, to allow you as the bride and groom to plan ahead of time to prevent alot of last minute confusion. He also has a system where guests can put in their song requests before the wedding too, which was perfect, it gave him a pre-planned idea of what kind of music will keep the night flowing and our guests happy.
He has a VERY high attention to detail, and offers great ideas to help your day/evening run smoothly.
He was high energy, alot of fun and overall an amazing DJ. We got a ton of feedback from guests commenting on how great he was. We all had a wonderful time.

We hired Brett of Encore Mobile DJ's to provide the music for both our wedding and reception. Not only did he really "make" our wedding a success, he provided some great advice and song suggestions during the planning stages which really helped to get our guests involved and creat the mood that we wanted for our evening. Everyone had a wonderful time, and that was in large part to Brett. We could not recommend him more highly. In terms of getting a great value and service, within our budget-- it was EXACTLY what we had hoped for!!

This dj is great! He will meet with you personally to do a complete play by play of how you want your wedding to be set up and they care a lot about picking out the perfect music for you. Our guests had a lot of fun with our dj. He brought a lot of energy to the dance floor but didn't take over the show. They even filmed part of our wedding ceremony and reception as well as put it on the facebook/YouTube for us to watch on our honeymoon! All in all, great experience working with encore mobile djs!

I really hated their planning website, but after our in-person meeting I felt way better about Encore. The wedding day went off perfectly and our DJ did exactly what we wanted. The party was awesome and we had several people tell us what a great job the DJ did. I don't think I left the dance floor during the reception so THAT was awesome.

These guys were great! They provided music for my wedding and reception, did just what i wanted: kept the party going. They made sure everything was as i wished and were very professional and personable. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking in their area, they traveled to Timberline lodge for me at a fantastic rate!

Brett was really great to work with. He acted as DJ and MC and hustled all over the place to make sure the wedding flowed just right. He prefered that we pick most of the music list out beforehand... (which is great if you're picky, but i didnt really care) Overall great service and very professional.

Picking songs was easy. There was a large selection of music. Our consultation was also extremely helpful. They kept the entire wedding guest moving and the hit every cue.

Communication with Encore Mobile DJ's via Brett and his assistants was quick and prompt. We met in person a few weeks before the wedding which was a really nice opportunity to go through the flow of the DJ services for our wedding and get any questions answered. Our DJ Andrew was fantastic and incorporated all of the songs we requested into the list. The wedding turned into an awesome dance party, complete with multiple dance-offs and me being hoisted into the air throughout the song Shout... something only mad DJ skills can make happen.

In searching for a wedding DJ I found that most all had similar pricing and good reviews. What stood out to me when narrowing the search down was the awesome tools Encore Mobile DJ's had to offer. Their assortment of planning tools allowed me to create a playlist, timeline, and fill out one form with all the reception details in an easy to use format. Their music catalog was quite large and a couple songs we wanted that they didn't have were easily acquired. Encore Mobile DJ's were easy to get a hold of with quick response times. Brett did an excellent job at the actual reception, keeping the flow going smoothly and checking in with us to ensure our needs were being met. The dance floor was packed all night long and a guest was so impressed with the DJ she took his business card for her son's upcoming wedding. I think that speaks loudly about the quality of service provided by Encor Mobile DJ's. Great time was had by all!

My husband and I are so happy to have chosen Encore Mobile DJs for our wedding! We originally met with and liked Brent (the owner, I believe) but DJ, Dmitriy, was assigned to our wedding. He was just as fantastic as Brent! Dmitriy anticipated all of the announcements that needed to be made (e.g., "be sure to grab a favor on your way out" "line up for the sparkler exit," etc.) and the entire day and evening ran smoothly in no small part because of him. Although some of our music requests were omitted (thankfully, none of the ones that we explicitly listed as "have to plays"), Dmitriy got guests from their 20s to 60s out on the dance floor. Added bonus: he's a great teacher for anyone who wants to learn how to "wobble!" :)

Thanks for saving our day. We were so late with the Wedding prep. We contacted Brett at the last minute. We only had a brief meeting with him to coordinate everything. Even with very little information, he was able to understand exactly what we wanted for our big day. He took care of everything, was very efficient and professional. And our guests loved him!

DJ Katie is superfabulous! She put up with a long drive, a demanding group of guests, and a challenging farm environment with grace and style. We loved her charming and welcoming demeanor, ability to multitask, and selection of songs from 6+ hours of guest requests. She also did way more than we expected of a DJ- transitioned guests from space to space, introduced toasts, and integrated some games while the bride and groom were MIA. We'd enthusiastically rehire her in a heartbeat.

Lower scores were for Encore's responsiveness regarding our DJ request and general pushiness about $ we owed during the obviously stressful week of event when we clearly knew the contract terms.

Harvey was AMAZING! He had everything we wanted for a DJ for our wedding. He was professional and connected with our guests. He listened to us and what we wanted for the wedding and delivered. He also continuously checked in with us to make sure we were happy with him and how our schedule was going. I would highly recommend him. My one complaint would be Encore's responsiveness. It was hard to get a hold of someone when I needed to set up our one on one meeting and also email was slow turnaround. All in all however I was pleased with their service.

Our DJ was very respectful and professional. He had never done a wedding on his own before so he had to ask a lot of questions during the reception, but he did so in a very kind and unobtrusive way.
The manager was more difficult to get a hold of, but would be pushy with my husband when he had a question or expected money. One example of this was that he didn't tell us who our DJ would be until 1 week before the wedding. Then, he called my husband and stressed him out only 3 days later pressuring him to meet with the DJ. I believe that when you hire someone to help you with a high pressure day, their job is to help RELIEVE stress, not add to it. We would not hire them again, unless we could work with the DJ directly. He was a sweetheart.

We used Encore Mobile DJs for our wedding in May 2016. It seemed like a good fit and reasonable price for what we needed. Day of the wedding though DJ and assistant were really great. Only complaint day of was we specifically said to DJ in the meeting and put in in the forms-no ice breakers. To our surprise there was an ice breaker called the snowball dance forced on us. We had to pretend we were into it so our guests didn’t see how annoyed we were. Other than that “surprise” it was great. Many of our guests commented on the dj and assistant doing a great job as well.

Let me start off by saying that Michael, our day-of DJ and his assistant, Jordan, were wonderful! They carried out a perfectly executed day from start to finish... and threw a killer dance party! They even took some pictures of us on the dance floor with their cell phones and passed them along, so we could have another perspective of our day. Their energy was upbeat and positive, and they fit in perfectly with infectious and fun vibe of the day... all the guests loved them, and we were thrilled. Michael & Jordan = FIVE STARS across the board.
On the other hand, communication could be improved upon. There was a bit of uncertainty leading up to the wedding, and all the final details were not ironed out until a week and a half before the actual day. Everything worked out in the end, however, and we were extremely satisfied with our day-of experience.

I married Steven L, who left the review below.

The initial meeting with Brett went fine. There was a link we could send out for guests to make requests, and he promised he could find whatever songs he didn't have in his library. The website was difficult to use and outdated, and didn't have a number of songs I was interested in. Steven called and spoke with someone (not Brett), who told us that they did not usually acquire songs per special request, but were willing to make an exception.

Day of, Brett showed up on time and was ready to go. He elected not to use the canopy that he required us to have. Our DOC requested he make a "no cameras during ceremony" announcement, which did not happen. A number of songs I requested be played before the ceremony were played during cocktail hour, and our first dance song was played then as well. I'm not sure if his collection was limited and he was recycling songs, or he hadn't looked at our prep list closely.

The first dance, M/S & F/D dance, and last song were played correctly. He did a good job of walking to tables to tell them to get food as well as asking for requests, and he played a lot of the guest requests that had been made. The transitions between songs were rough, including brief 2 second clips.

We had a good time and some solid dancing, but almost everyone noticed that the DJ was not on par with the rest of the party. Brett walked up to me at the end of the night and asked for a review, which I gave honestly, and a gratuity. After Steven left his review below, Brett called him and accused him of being a "wannabe DJ" (Steven used to DJ, and would purchase songs if necessary) and had no idea what it was like to run a small business (Steven’s a small business owner). Per Brett, we were privileged and had no idea how good we have it.

Nothing was ruined, but the quality of the DJing and the mistakes made were annoying. Calling to berate us for a poor review is a step beyond.
