From the moment I spoke to Danyel and her team I was sold. Her entire team is friendly, hardworking, creative and the entire package! They were quick to see my vision, excited to offer suggestions & quotes, and went over a beyond what I could of ever envisioned. Her floral design was so magical the groomsmen were even taking photos and posting about it on their social medias and that says something! I feel so lucky to have had their art on our special day and we will always remember the Enchanting Flora as being the hardest working team in the wedding industry. I contacted Danyel to do our November 2020 wedding and she has been so wonderful to work with even in these early stages! She is prompt to respond, professional but personal, and so helpful! I’m no expert on flowers and she has truly been so great when hearing me out, working with our budget and just knowing we have a true expert in beautiful florals for our big day! I decided to go with enchanting flora for my wedding in September 2020. I had the pleasure of going to my sisters wedding in May that she used this florist and the flowers we nothing but beautiful!!! So when I got engaged I had no doubt I already decided to use Danyel as my florist! She is professional and very responsive along with accommodating to my personal taste and budget! I can not wait until I can see how my flowers turn out! I will leave another review once my wedding day has passed! -

All of the bouquets, center pieces, and boutonnieres came out beautifully. I sent some photos off of Pinterest as inspiration and everything came out better than I had hoped for! I even asked for the cake to be decorated in cascading flowers and the end result was magnificent! I had first look photos in the morning as well, and everything arrived in time so I could use my bridal bouquet for the photo shoot. -

Everything was beautiful! I showed Danyel 3 pictures and she was able to create exactly what I wanted. She also has a very small set up fee as opposed to other vendors. Definitely recommend! -

The biggest disappointment of my wedding
My flowers were the biggest disappointment of my wedding.
They were also the aspect of the wedding that I had been most excited about. I found my dream bouquet and designed my decor around it. My colors were pink and orange, and I selected a different shade for my four bridesmaids and one bridesman. I presented Danyel with an exact photo of the pink-orange bouquet I wanted, and the one I got was light pink and wine red.
I first met with Danyel in December 2019, for a wedding scheduled for May 2020. One thing that really sold me on Enchanting Flora Designs, besides their flawless reviews, was a pledge to check in regularly before the wedding to have an ongoing conversation about my flower wishes. This never ended up happening. COVID-19, obviously, was a factor, but it wasn't the whole story -- I didn't hear from her monthly before the pandemic, and besides brief discussions to reschedule dates, I didn't hear from her at all until I reached out a month before the final, Aug. 14, 2021, wedding. At the time, I told myself that all that mattered was the final product, and if she could execute my vision, her communication skills didn't matter. But she did not execute my vision.
My fiance and I ended up deciding in March 2020 to postpone our May 2020 wedding because the pandemic had just broken out. Danyel was great about this, as thankfully were all our vendors. We rescheduled for September 2020, another date we ended up postponing. Again, Danyel and the rest of my vendors could not have been nicer and more understanding.
I messaged Danyel on July 8, 2021, through The Knot after not hearing from her since the previous September. I noted that my Aug. 14 wedding was quickly approaching. I asked if she needed to see a photo of my dream bouquet since it had been so long since we had last spoken. I said that one thing had changed since my initially scheduled wedding: I was trading a bridesmaid for a bridesman.
I received no response. On July 12, I texted her and said it had been a while and I wanted to check in on the flowers. Shortly after, she responded to my Knot message and told me to send her a photo of my dream bouquet. She did not acknowledge my change that I was trading a bridesmaid for a bridesman.
I responded that same day with a photo of my dream bouquet -- one that I had shown her back in December 2019 -- as well as photos of my bridesmaids' dresses in bright shades of pinks and oranges.
She did not reply.
At this point, I was really starting to freak out. My wedding was less than a month away, and my florist was being largely unresponsive. I should add that every single other one of my vendors -- the church, the reception site, baker, transportation, photographer -- was FANTASTIC about responding to me in a timely manner, so Danyel was the exception.
Late on July 20, after waiting more than a week for a response, I sent her a message through The Knot and said I was really getting nervous and would like to speak to her by phone. I noted that we hadn't discussed the colors or style of the boutonnieres.
She responded on July 21, saying she already had my dream bouquet on file and needed a location/time for where and when I wanted the flowers delivered. Again, she was not acknowledging my most recent email about needing to speak to her/boutonnieres and was instead responding to my July 12 email.
I responded within a half hour and gave her the location/time information for where and when to deliver flowers.
No response.
On July 26, I called her, and she did not answer. Her voicemail was full so I could not leave a message. I texted her after hanging up, saying I needed to talk to her about the flowers and to please give me a call.
After waiting 24 hours for a response and not receiving one, I called her again and this time she answered. At this point I was so frantic that I was near tears when she picked up the phone. But I was also in the precarious position of desperately needing her to come through on my flowers, the aspect of my wedding I was most excited about, so I was trying to act like everything was fine. I noted again on the phone that we hadn't talked about flowers in depth since December 2019 and that I felt like she needed more from me, because besides telling her my wedding colors (pinks and oranges) and dream bouquet, we hadn't talked about specifics.
She told me early on in the call that she planned to order the flowers for my wedding by July 29, TWO DAYS LATER. She had made no effort to reach out to me and run over details of my floral order; if I hadn't reached out to her, she was going to order flowers for my wedding after talking to me once in depth about them IN DECEMBER 2019. It also came up on the call that she didn't know I wanted corsages, even though I remember talking to her about that in December 2019. So again, if I hadn't tracked her down, there would have been no corsages for our two mothers. I also said I wanted my bouquet to look exactly like the photo of the dream bouquet I had sent to her multiple times.
Fast forward to Aug. 14, my wedding day. Danyel delivered the flowers, and the colors are wrong. Instead of the beautiful shades of pinks and oranges I had designed my entire wedding around, the flowers were largely light pink and wine red. The boutonnieres and corsages were cheap-looking and a lifeless shade of light pink (though I did like the darker pink sprigs in them). I had nicer boutonnieres for my prom dates from our local grocery store when I was in high school. I was too shocked to react in the moment. I remember thinking that my wedding was four hours away, these flowers were ordered two weeks in advance and there was no way to rectify the situation, especially since my florist had an exact photograph of the bouquet I wanted and had given me something very different.
After Danyel left, my first instinct was to scrap the flowers completely. I had bright pink fake flowers from Amazon I were planning to use for the reception centerpieces, and I thought we could use those as bouquets instead. But my maid of honor had a brilliant idea: We should take apart the bouquets of fake pink flowers and stick them individually in the bride's, bridesmaids' and flower girls' bouquets for the pops of color I was looking for.
We ended up sending another bridesmaid to the closest Kroger, where she and the most wonderful saleswoman, Tasha, combed through the grocery store's flower supply and picked out bouquets with shades of medium and dark pink and shades of orange. My bridesmaid came home with $100 worth of Kroger flowers, and my angel photographer -- Mollie Woody of Jeff and Mollie Weddings -- led a group including my mom that removed all the wine-red flowers from my Danyel bouquets and subbed in shades of bright pinks and oranges from both the fake flower centerpieces and the Kroger flower supply.
There was nothing we could do about the boutonnieres and corsages because other flower shops were too swamped to help us, but my biggest concern was the bouquets.
After we had a plan for fixing the bouquets by subbing in the fake pink flowers from Amazon, I messaged Danyel and told her the colors of the flowers were not what I had envisioned and asked if there was anything she could do to help me get hot pink/bright pink flowers. I told her I would pay for whatever -- I just wanted my dream bouquet. She said she would run to her wholesaler, and then said that all they had available was a "Juliet garden" that would cost me $250. The color of the Juliet garden was the same lifeless, so-light-pink-they're-almost-white flowers that dominated the bouquet she had given me. Again, it was not even close to what I wanted, even after I specified hot pink/bright pink. At that point, I had my maid of honor call her because I was too upset. My MOH told her that the colors in my bouquet were not right, specifically the wine-red ones. Danyel suggested that the photographer could manipulate the colors of her photographs to make the flowers appear to be the colors I wanted. That is in lieu of actually doing her job and finding the flowers that I had asked for, and of course, it did not fix the problem of having severe-looking wine-red and light pink flowers in person with my bright pink and orange bridesmaid dresses and decor.
I give Danyel credit for two things: She showed up with flowers, and the base of the flowers with the greenery and the pink sprigs and the yellow billy balls was strong enough that we could use that to build out the rest of the bouquet on our own.
Otherwise, the communication was terrible. What I once viewed as confidence on her part that she saw my vision for the flowers I now consider to be indifference. I was willing to overlook the lack of communication as long as I got the beautiful flowers that I had wanted, but that did not happen. When my MOH hung up with her, she noted that Danyel sounded mad. And that was really the gist of it -- instead of being concerned about the bride having the flowers she dreamed of for her wedding, Danyel felt inconvenienced.
I have not heard from her since then or been given an explanation of why my bright pink/orange-envisioned bouquet turned into light pink/wine red. I can imagine she might say that flower supplies were limited because of COVID-19. Why that explanation doesn't work is because even the local grocery store had flowers in colors closer to what I was looking for than the flowers I received from Danyel. How is the local Kroger able to have my colors in stock on one random Saturday as opposed to her wholesaler, with whom she scheduled a delivery two weeks earlier?
In hindsight, I wish I had asked Danyel to do a mockup for me of my wedding bouquet in the months before the wedding to make sure it was exactly what I envisioned. I had asked about this initially, and she acted like it wasn't necessary and she also said it would cost the full amount of my bouquet. At the time, with wedding expenses mounting, I thought I could skip this step, especially since I had given her a photo of exactly what I wanted.
I also discounted my own concerns about her unresponsiveness in the month leading up to the wedding because of the glowing reviews that Enchanting Flora Designs had on every wedding website. If anyone had detailed what I experienced, I would have trusted my instincts and tried to find a backup floral plan at the last minute.
If I could do it all again, I would choose a different florist, even if it meant paying two or three times what Danyel cost. This situation caused me a lot of stress and disappointment on the most important day of my life. Even Tasha, the wonderful saleswoman at Kroger, seemed more interested in helping me get the flowers I wanted than Danyel was.
Included are the pictures of my bouquet after we fixed it. I circled the flowers that were added from Amazon (fake flowers!) and Kroger (thank you, Tasha), and I also included a photo with my bridesmaids and bridesman so you can see my intended color scheme and how the bouquets turned out after we fixed them. And lastly is a photo of my dream bouquet that I had sent Danyel. -
