I reached out to EmpowderByAmola because of a friend's recommendation. Linda did my hair and makeup and I couldn't have asked for anyone better. She was professional, punctual, friendly and extremely skilled at her craft. She made me feel calm on my wedding and was fun to work with. After the ceremony, Linda retouched up my makeup and changed my hair/outfit for the reception. I told her I wanted to look like a bride but since I don't wear a ton of makeup on a regular basis, I wanted to look natural and like myself. She hit that balance flawlessly. I highly recommended Amola and/or Linda for your wedding (or non-wedding) day needs. Thank you so much! -

Amola was amazing! The Empowder team took care of my 2 full bridal looks, as well as hair and dupatta draping for my soon to be in laws and bridesmaids! My husband is not indian and this was a lot of our family/bridal party's first time wearing indian clothes! It was such a relief to have the Empowder team help install everyone's tikka and dupatta properly - our family and friends looked beautiful, comfortable and confident in their outfits, while giving my family the opportunity to get themselves ready without stress!! I loved loved loved both of my looks, Amola draped my saree beautifully and really helped me achieve my traditional ceremony look, and then helped me change into my more modern and fun reception look. Although time was limited between the ceremony and reception, Amola helped make my transition effortless. She also made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process, making sure I had ample opportunities to eat/reset throughout the day! Overall my family, friends and I loved working with Amola and the rest of the Empowder Team! -

Amola was the absolute best to work with! I initially met her during my best friend's wedding, which was 2 years prior to mine. I loved the soft glam look she did on my friend, as well as her friendly demeanor (especially when she helped the bridesmaids drape their saris literally 20 minutes before bridal party photos). I immediately knew I wanted her as my HMUA, so when it came time to booking vendors, she was the first one I reached out to and booked. Over my 2-year engagement, we followed each other on social media and I felt like we became friends. By the time my bridal trial came along, we had such a great relationship that it felt like my good friend was doing my makeup! She was very open to any suggestions I had and really encouraged it. On the morning of my wedding day, Amola and her entire team was fabulous! They all did an amazing job on my hair/makeup, along with my mom, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and bridesmaids. They were timely, patient, and very kind. I highly recommend hiring Amola to be your HMUA! -

Super talented bridal stylist!
I came across Amola after she did a friend’s bridal hair and makeup and I was blown away by how stunning my friend looked in all her wedding looks. I wanted a stylist who was familiar with Indian wedding events and bridal looks for a variety of Indian cultures. Amola did not disappoint. I felt confident and stress free knowing that she was going to get me ready and make sure I looked incredible. Many people commented on how beautiful my makeup and hair was throughout my wedding weekend. Amola even fixed my groom’s stole without us asking. She is detail oriented, takes pride in her work, is so easy to work with in terms of editing or deciding on each look, and absolutely worth every penny! -

I was super excited to book Amola for my wedding since I’d been following her work for a while- her skill is incredible! She was the first vendor I booked and felt extremely confident about! Amola was very responsive and professional throughout my whole experience and was there to answer any questions I had about not just hair or makeup, but also offer advice on what dupattas/veils would work with my looks! I was very nervous about getting my hair and makeup done professionally since I have very sensitive skin, but Amola worked with me to find and use products that suited my skin and made me feel comfortable. Amola was so fun to work with. I was a little nervous because I didn’t factor in a makeup trial, but Amola handled my wedding day makeup with confidence and gave me the exact look I was wanting. She and her girls handled my wedding party & even managed our busy schedule when we were running late. The best part was she had two brides on the same day at the same venue, but you would never guess if she was tired or stressed about it! She was so kind, patient, and thoughtful, and I would definitely choose to work with her for my wedding day again. -

I am quite picky when it comes to hair and makeup, especially because I wear alternative hair. I had the pleasure of working with Amola for my sangeet, wedding and reception and I couldn’t have been more happy! From our first conversation to my wedding weekend, she was exceptional and always available for any questions or concerns I had.
I was unable to do a trial but before the wedding Amola took the time out to discuss in detail what I envisioned for each event. She understood my preferences and executed the looks with precision and finesse, making the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. I’ve never felt so beautiful and loved each and every look. The hair, makeup, and outfit setting lasted flawlessly throughout the events and I received countless compliments!
Amola is incredibly talented, professional and kind. She was so sweet and fun to work with which made the entire getting ready process so memorable, even at 3 AM! On top of being professional, she was extremely punctual and ensured I was ready on time.

Amola was an amazing HMU for my wedding day. From the first day I met her, she was so sweet and kind and thoughtful. Our makeup trial was awesome - she executed my vision perfectly, and was also so fun to chat with while getting the trial done! A few days before the wedding, we dropped my sari off and she thoroughly pleated it and made sure the draping was perfect. On the day of the wedding, she did a fantastic job with both my morning and evening looks. She was very kind, supportive, and super fun to chat with. I first saw Amola at a dear friend’s wedding, and I was in awe of how beautifully she envisioned wedding makeup, so she was one of the first vendor contracts I signed right after booking our wedding venue. Throughout the time between the contract and wedding, there were multiple changes, a pre-wedding photoshoot HMU session and a trial session for my wedding day makeup. Amola was incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating with all the changes that came (even multiple last moment regarding the wedding party make up and hair), and did absolutely everything she could to make it the smoothest process for myself and my family and friends.
With regards to each of the looks (pre-wedding photoshoot in May 2023, Sangeet/Garba look, Wedding look, and Reception look), I honestly was left speechless. Each look made me feel so beautiful, but also made me feel myself. She truly is someone who takes time to understand each of her brides, and because of this reason, is able to prepare the bride so beautifully while maintaining the bride’s personality and wishes. And, not to mention, she does all of this with the most calming nature (which is so necessary in all that goes on in a wedding!).
I wanted to also take this opportunity to thank Amola’s team that helped prepare my family and bridesmaids - Monica, Paola, Urja, Linda and Khadija. Through all the craziness that goes on within a wedding, each of these amazing artists maintained a calm demeanor and truly helped each person feel the best version of themselves on the day of the events.
I have only the highest praise for Amola, and I would highly recommend her to all brides, or for hair and make-up for any special event! -

Amola was the perfect artist for my wedding. I was unsure of what I wanted besides I wanted to look like "me". Amola gave great suggestions while allowing me to have input that made me feel my best. I wasn't 100% happy with my trial results, but she took the feedback and ended up executing my bridal look perfectly. While she didn't do my mom and MIL's makeup, the artist she worked with was great. They had natural looks that lasted all night! On the day of my wedding, she did my makeup and hair in the morning and then came back for a touch up before the reception. Everything lasted well into the night! Incredible for my Wedding
Amola was amazing to work with! I booked her 8 months before our wedding date as I know how quick she is booked for other events. Amola was so flexible with me for my wedding day hair style and the changes made from my trial run. She was so thoughtful with handling my Mom’s wedding dress to make sure it shined when I put it on. Amola made the morning of my wedding peaceful with just us in the room getting ready while watching a movie. She even moved location for our reception hall and made sure to help me change to reception clothes and makeup refresh. My hair and makeup stayed in tact all night. Highly recommend Amola to anyone for their special day! -

From the moment I saw Amola's work on Instagram, I fell in love with her artistry. I knew that I had to have her for my wedding day. She was so easy to communicate with, answered all of my questions before I booked, and clearly knows her makeup!
She recommended that I research makeup looks that I was interested in and that I could send them to her to get her thoughts. She listened to my vision and made me feel absolutely gorgeous on the special day.
Amola excels at accentuating your natural features while making your makeup look flawless and knows how to create beautiful hair looks. She provided the perfect makeup and hair look for the wedding, which lasted all morning and into the afternoon. For the evening, we changed hair into deep waves and makeup into a glam look which she did perfectly! Amola also drapes sarees and lenghas beautifully, without any worry of it budging throughout the day. She also provided touch-ups throughout the day to ensure that I looked my best in every photo.
She brought a team of makeup and hair artists to do my family's hair and makeup. They did an amazing job with everyone's looks, making my mother, MIL, SIL, and sisters feel beautiful.
I highly recommend Amola to any bride looking for a talented, professional and experienced makeup artist. She exceeded my expectations and helped to make our wedding day even more special. -

Amola is seriously so incredible at what she does (soft glam, natural wedding makeup). I didn't have time to travel to Maryland for a trial and at first, I was super nervous since so many brides and MUAHs recommend a trial before the big day. My fears were put to rest when I finally met Amola 3 hours before my first event. Amola took all my requests and made each look so unique from hair & makeup to draping my dupattas. I felt so beautiful the entire weekend. I highly recommend hiring Amola for your wedding day. You will not regret it! -

The best of the best!
Amola is PHENOMENAL! I found Amola after seeing the work she had done with friends of mine and choosing her was quite honestly one of the best decisions I made for my wedding (after saying "I do" to my husband of course :-) ). The second I showed up for my trial, I could tell Amola had such a warmth to her that put me at ease. I gave her one or two inspo pics and just with that alone she was able to easily do exactly what I wanted (a soft glam look). Amola has such an easygoing personality that I felt comfortable knowing she would listen to what I wanted but she also has the professionalism and confidence that reassured me that I was in good hands. Her experience working with various skin tones and types of weddings was also comforting as I was having a fusion wedding. She gave so many great suggestions on what best worked with different outfits (i.e how to best put on my veil for my white wedding dress to what lipstick shade I should change into for my sari). The day of my wedding she did an amazing job with my MIL and my MOH and put so much time and detail with my hair and makeup - it was flawless! She was organized and timely, and even when I had a quite literal last minute change of heart on how much volume I wanted in my hair, she was able to make the change with such ease and calmness. I got so many glowing compliments about my look and it’s all thanks to Amola! I couldn't imagine my wedding without her!!! -

Amola is truly amazing! From the very beginning she put in 1000%. She’s one of those people that you can just trust fully within 2 minutes of talking to her. I felt like I was in great hands and the stress that comes with makeup looking unlike myself, too cakey or “too much” was completely gone. Amola is so open to hearing you out and understanding exactly what you want in your bridal look. She took her time during the initial phone call, the make up and hair trials and was available to communicate through the whole wedding planning process. I don’t know how she does it, but she makes you feel like you’re the only bride she’s taking glamming up- and if you know her schedule, you know she’s so so booked! Amola’s makeup and hair techniques are flawless, she really knows her stuff. I have sensitive skin that’s acne prone and she knows what products to use to prevent breakouts. most importantly she not only gives you the look you want but she also knows what suits you personally and gives great suggestions. She was always prepared for touch ups and always there by me.
Something I would have never thought of- Amola works so well with others. She was friends with all the vendors. We had a different makeup artist for my family members and they helped eachother and were very friendly.
All in all, Amola is such a calming force, someone you want around while you’re getting ready and through the process. Amola is the way to go.

Amola is Amazing!
Amola and her team are amazing! Not only is Amola an amazing MUA, but she is professional and flexible. I worked with Amola for my engagement photoshoot, sangeet, and two looks for my wedding. All of experiences were great and all my looks different. She beyond exceeded the look I wanted to capture. Amola is quick as well! I had less than an hour between my wedding to my ceremony for Amola to change my hair, add hair extensions, touch-up/semi re-do my make-up, and helped me change outfits- and Amola made it happen! Working with her is so stress-free, I was always ready on time, if not early all because Amola allocated the time appropriately! Words cannot thank Amola enough. -

Phenomenal Experience!
It was such a pleasure getting to work with Amola for my wedding! She was actually the first vendor I booked over a year in advance because I had seen her amazing work before.
The entire process was so welcoming and personalized, which is such a rarity in the wedding business lately. She listened to exactly what I wanted and then took it to the next level! I had three different looks for my wedding events and each one was unique, but felt so much like ME. Amola understands that every bride is different and she makes sure that comes out in her work. She was helpful in recommending extensions I could buy, products to help get my skin to where I wanted it to be and overall a pleasure to be around. I got compliments on my hair and makeup for weeks and months after the wedding!!
Amola was my absolute favorite vendor at my wedding and I wish I could hire her for any event I need to go to! She made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process and I loved her energy. HIRE HER! -

Amola did my makeup for my Wedding and Reception. I found her via friend's recommendations and did a deep dive on Instagram to see her work. She keeps her page really up to date (and fun!) so it was easy to get a good idea of her style and past work. I really liked how she had done makeup for other bride's in the past, so I decided to give it a go! I reached out to Amola in January 2022 and asked if she was available for my wedding weekend (October 2022). Ideally I would have booked her for all of my events, but unfortunately she was booked on my Sangeet date. I was bummed, but still really excited she'd be able to do my makeup for the big day! Amola was really prompt in responding to my request and she was super friendly to talk to on the phone. She informed me of the general timeline and she was really patient as I asked plenty of questions!
Amola was flexible with me when scheduling my makeup trial and we were easily able to find a date that worked for both of us. She was really timely - we started on the dot and she took exactly the amount of time that she estimated to me. She listened to what I wanted for my look and she matched it super well! There were also some things I wasn't super sure about but she was patient with me and helped me decide! Prior to the trial she was also really helpful in telling me exactly what I needed to bring and how to prepare.
On my wedding and reception day, she was absolutely amazing! Her team arrived on time and set up fairly quickly. Amola did my hair and makeup and she brought two people to help with my sister, sister-in-law, mom, and mother-in-law (one did hair, and one did makeup). Beforehand, she had worked out a schedule, so we all were prepared and knew when we'd be getting ready. She and her team worked efficiently and everyone LOVED their looks! Amola did everyone's sari draping as well and it was impeccable (It's not easy to drape a silk sari and make it look good)!
10/10 highly recommend working with Amola! She's so professional, friendly, and skilled! -

An Absolute Pleasure!!! Fusion Bride Approved :)
Amola & her team were such a pleasure to work with! Since the very beginning, Amola was very responsive and professional. Amola did my hair, make-up and draping (the bride) and her team did the hair and make-up of my close family members (mom, grandma, aunts, etc). She was flexible when we needed to add more people (even down to the day before!) and that speaks highly to her professionalism in the industry. I loved my time getting to know Amola...she made the 3-hr process fly by! I did not have a hair and make-up trial and yet, she was able to bring my vision (natural glam) to life and it was perfection!! I also loved how receptive she was when I told her I wanted to use my dupatta as a veil (in order to fuse both my American and Indian cultures) -- she said "I love it, let's do it!" Thank you so so much Amola for all the hard work you put in to make my day perfect! She stayed all-day (since I had an outfit and hair change for the reception) and remained bubbly and upbeat..she was even able to finish my outfit change in one hour! Everyone was raving about my hair and make-up all day, and I felt the most beautiful I ever have because of Amola. All my close family members who had their hair and make-up done loved their looks, as well. Thanks again! -

Wonderful experience!!
Amola was great throughout the entire process! She listened exactly to what I wanted for my hair and makeup (I wanted something more natural looking). We did a trial and I was hesitant to try something different but I absolutely loved what she did with my hair. She is very professional and has a lot of experience and perfected every look I showed her. On my wedding day, she stuck with me and continued to do touch ups whenever I needed. She also did my mom and MIL's hair and makeup which looked amazing. She is very sweet and worth every penny. Not only did she do my makeup and hair but she helped drape my lengha and made sure to set my jewelry and dupatta. I loved how my wedding look and photos turned out thanks to Amola! I was referred to Amola by the wedding photographer we hired and I felt so, so lucky to have her and Anjali do hair & makeup for me and my wedding party (and mom!). She is really responsive and personable, and perfectly struck the balance between being the expert with knowledge and letting you define your own vision for your look. The products she used didn't leave my skin with any issues at all despite it tending to be sensitive, and as someone who doesn't know anything about hair and makeup I appreciated her pro tips for staying hydrated and healthy leading up to the wedding. I got compliments from several guests that my looks were perfect and didn't look overly caked on, and I felt stunning throughout the day because she made me look like a more glamorous version of myself! I couldn't recommend Amola more and don't think you should think twice before booking her services!! -

Amola was my bridal makeup artist and she was a gem to work with! She did mine and my sister's hair and makeup for 4 events. Anjali also came and did my mom, MIL, and SIL's hair and makeup for 4 events. Both Amola and Anjali were so professional throughout all of the events and made getting ready at odd times in the morning seem so normal haha They were so sweet and accomodating to any type of style we wanted and we really felt like family as the end of 3 long days! Also the makeup lasts ALL day - it ended up being close to 90 degrees for my outdoor wedding and the makeup lasted for all 5 of us from 9 AM till the late hours into the night! We are so grateful for everything they did for us! Highly recommend! -

Amola was hands down the best part about my wedding. She made me feel comfortable, did an outstanding job with hair and make up, was a thorough professional, and truly listened to what I wanted. She made my vision come to life effortlessly. I told her during the trial that I wanted a minimal make up look and she made it happen. She listened to what I wanted and gave me advice that I asked for. Leading up to the wedding, she was very responsive and promptly answered any questions or concerns I had. There are no words to describe how beautiful Amola made me look at feel on my wedding day! After having a horrible experience with a trial from another artist, I was super sensitive & self conscious about the way I looked / would look on my wedding day. After getting the contact / feedback from a friend, I reached out to Amola & moved forward with my trial & I was absolutely blown away & immediately proceeded to booking her. During the trial, Amola listened to what I wanted & executed a million times better than what I had expected. She has great attention for detail when it comes to hair & makeup & is able to make any vision come to life. On top of all of that, the hair & makeup lasted through the heat & sweat for my outdoor wedding & the evening look lasted all night through all the dancing & sweat! I have been following Amola for a very long time and I always knew I wanted her to do my wedding make up! Even during COVID this girl was fully booked!!! THIS is when you know she's the best in the industry. Regardless, she tried and managed to squeeze me in for a whole bridal look including dupatta/tikka setting. She put so much time and effort into every one of my looks. We discussed what I was looking for, what she thought would look good and what she thought wouldn't look good. Her input truly made all the difference and I can't express how happy I am with how I looked on both my Garba night and my Wedding day! Amola did my HMU for both my South Asian and Western Ceremonies, as well as my mom. Her team did all the bridal party HMU. Amola was responsive, professional, and helpful leading up to the wedding. We did trial and I loved the makeup but wasn't 100% sold on the hair, she provided a second free trial to go over exactly what I wanted to do with my hair-and it turned out perfectly. She was helpful in providing direction about products and hair extensions. I was nervous because I did not want traditional heavy South Asian bridal makeup, but Amola made sure my makeup was softer and more natural while still looking flawless and "done". She and her team were also on time and made sure everyone was ready on a tight timeline. I would recommend her to anyone looking for bridal hair and makeup!! -

Amola walked through my styling choices with confidence. Being American and having a Sri Lankan Tamil wedding without any Aunties, Amola took my hand and guided me flawlessly to the finish! She draped each of my friends sarees flawlessly, and my hair and makeup stayed in place well into the night, (my ceremony was at 10 AM).
I booked a trial with her, and glad I was, it gave us time to do a little bonding before the day of jitters set in! She was so so calm day of, and our time together really flew by!

Amola works magic. I showed up late for Make up/Hair and she somehow got me ready in about an hour! I also had a lot of last minute additions to hair and make up the day of the wedding and she graciously accommodated them all. I also had a huge time crunch in between the wedding and the reception because I had to wash my hair (I had Cumin and Jaggery in my hair). She dried and styled my hair in 2 hours, and was so gentle that I TOOK A NAP WHILE SHE WORKED!!!! I had so many people compliment how beautiful yet subtle all the looks were. Highly recommend her!! -

My wedding makeup was PERFECT!
Amola did a tremendous job in getting me ready for my wedding and then again for my reception (a whole year later, thanks to Covid!). She was flexible, asked the right questions, understood my needs and was able to create looks that were perfect for me. I wanted a soft glow, something more natural, and she was able to seamlessly execute. She made me feel so beautiful. She also did a great job with pinning and jewelry placement. My makeup lasted literally ALL day and well into the night.
In terms of communication, she was on top of it, responsive and reasonable. We had a blast with her for both events, she brings such a fun and positive energy - which is totally needed on your big day!! Highly, highly recommend :) -

BEST decision for hair and makeup!
I had one month to plan a last minute wedding so I had difficulty in finding a vendor for hair and makeup. I found Empowder and WOW- it was meant to be! I was so stressed with wedding planning but Amola really took off the stress I had regarding hair and makeup. She was extremely responsive, super flexible, and just all around an amazing person to work with. She made me feel very comfortable. Amola was amazing to work with! I agree with one of the other brides, you are really getting a whole experience with Amola. She was incredibly flexible and accommodating as we kept having to change our plans and bridal party due to COVID. Amola also taught me what types of products work best with my skin tone and skin type, which will improve my daily make up routine. She was also very responsive.
I told her that I wanted my hair to look like Elsa and she executed my vision perfectly! I got so many compliments on my hair and make up on the day of the wedding. I felt amazing.
The trial was a very helpful experience, and definitely makes the wedding day go seamlessly. My hair is very thick and takes a long time to do, but Amola was so meticulous and thorough-tweaking it so it was just the way that I wanted.
She’s also very easy to talk to and makes you feel at ease. The room I was getting ready in on the day of the wedding was somewhat hectic, with different family members coming in and out, but she was so chill.
All around excellent experience! Highly recommend! -

Amola is amazing!
Wow, Amola went above and beyond my expectations. She provided hair and make up services for my mother, sister and niece for our garba, wedding and reception. We originally did a trial with my mother a few months before my wedding and Amola was very accommodating and understood exactly what kind of look my mother was going for, modern but classic. She is VERY punctual and works fast but neat and clean!! Her make up and hair techniques can suit any skin type and hair texture! She also used extensions for my mom and sister and it looked flawless - she had recommended which extensions to get color/length prior to the wedding and it matched very well. My sister raved about her work and she loved her make up! I would recommend Amola for being a great hair and make up artist but also a great person! -

Amola did a fantastic job with the hair and make up for my bridal party! She is so talented, professional, and kind.
Amola and another hair stylist did the make up and hair for me (bride), 6 bridesmaids, 1 mother of the bride and 1 flower girl. It took about 6 hours. The cost was around $1300 plus tip.
She includes a trial in her cost which I found really helpful. Amola takes the time to get to know you and understand what type of look you want for hair and makeup. She matched my inspiration photos perfectly (actually better than I imagined). She also took good notes on how I wanted my make up- very natural looking.
On top of that, she was able to make some recommendations on my skincare. She mentioned that my face seemed a bit dry in some areas. I went to see a dermatologist after that and was able to impove my skin. This made for even better make up application on the day of my wedding.
I would 100% use Empowder again and recommend this company to other brides!

OMG! I can not recommend Amola enough. From the very beginning of booking until the day of my wedding, Amola was super responsive in emails and in our phone interview. I planned my wedding from Austin TX and never had a chance to do any trials for hair or makeup but I was able to follow Amola on her instagram and see all of her previous work and I fully trusted her capabilities from the get go. I went with a pretty bold make up look and an updo, it was all exactly as I envisioned. I would absolutely hire her a hundred times over for any future event in the DMV area and I’ll definitely be recommending her to friends! -

Amola works magic with hair and make-up. You give her an idea, a style, or a picture and she makes it fit you. Amola did make-up for my 5 bridesmaids, my mom, my mother-law, and me, as well as my hair on my wedding day. Each girl’s makeup was beautiful and customized to their unique features. She’s gentle on your skin, ensures she uses proper hygiene, and uses the best products masterfully. Plus, her prices were extreme competitive for the DMV market.
At my trial, Amola worked with me to select the best colors and styles. She took one look at my face and selected the best products and colors. She was extremely open to feedback, as I decided to change my lip color, and worked with me to find the best option. On my wedding day, I felt gorgeous. However, even more important, I felt comfortable. The makeup was light but long lasting. My hair stayed perfect through sweat, humidity, and dancing.
Not only is Amola an artist, she’s also the sweetest professional. I felt comfortable with her from the moment I met her at my trial. The two hours past quickly because I had such an enjoyable time talking with her as she did my make-up/hair. Then, on my wedding day, Amola talked with me the entire time to calm my nerves and made sure I had time to eat lunch. It was such a joy to work with her and every bridesmaid raved about their experience with her!
Overall, I would recommend Amola to anyone who needs hair or makeup for a special event.
