Emma was professional, creative, and was most importantly able to make my vision for how I wanted to look on my wedding day a reality. This woman right here is incredible, she will go out of your way to ensure your vision comes to life. I shared with her a very unique hair style and she executed it perfectly. I was fortunate to have her the day prior for rehearsal and both days she hit the nail on the head. She is so personable and kind, hire her! I promise you won’t be disappointed. She made me feel like a Queen! -

Best of the best
Emma's work and talent is 10/10, and all the gold stars. She was always available for communication between my initial inquiry and all the way through wedding day. Biggest shout out- she travelled to Savannah for my wedding day and she's based out of Atlanta! Another shout out- due to my own schedule and being from Charlotte, I wasn't able to do a trial ahead of the big day despite Emma's efforts. Due to that conflict, Emma made sure to give me PLENTY of time wedding day to make any adjustments I'd want to my "look." She arrived on time, she arrived well equipped, and she didn't leave until everyone felt their very best. I would sit in her chair every day if I could! -

Emma is the best
I'm so grateful one of my good friends hired Emma for hair & makeup for her wedding, because I loved my makeup so much it was a no-brainer who I was going to hire! Emma did my make-up for our engagement photos and wedding. She has such a wonderful attention to detail and listens to your preferences. I had trailed my hair with Emma styled down for my wedding, and it last-minute rained. Never had I styled it up and was afraid if I was going to be happy with my last-minute decision to wear it up, but Emma worked her magic and not only did I feel beautiful but both my hair & makeup lasted all night and through the Florida rain and wind! I now consider Emma a friend and I intend to use her anytime I need my make-up professionally done! She's also an amazing artist, so check out her studio in Amelia Island. Such a talent!!! -

As the bride, I didn't have time to find a picture of what I wanted for my hair. Emma created an updo and when she could tell that it wasn't my vision she redid part of it to make it exactly what I liked! She was patient and worked until we got it exactly like I wanted! -

My husband and I planned our wedding from Texas, and she went out of her way to make sure I was able to schedule a makeup trial on a date and time that worked for me. I'm normally the type of person who doesn't speak up about what I dislike, as I'm afraid of hurting the stylist's feelings. Emma encouraged me to be frank with her and I was able to come home feeling extremely confident that she was the right fit. My previous experiences with wedding makeup artists were quite dissatisfying, but I knew this would be different. We communicated often and she had me send her many photos of what I wanted so that she could reference them on the day of.
I have never felt as beautiful as I did on the day of my wedding! Not only is she a true artist, she is an astute business woman who ensures that her clients leave her chair feeling confident and pleased with her work. My bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning and we all wish that Emma would move to Houston so we could use her services anytime we want! -

Tara Sent on 11/18/2015EMMA was AMAZING for my October 2015 wedding! I seriously could not have asked for a sweeter and more talented hair and makeup artist. The way she took her time and paid such attention to detail, I could tell that she truly cared as if she were doing her OWN makeup and hair for her OWN wedding. She's also very flexible -- I changed a few things on my wedding day that were not practiced during my trial run, and she totally ran with it and made it amazing. If you're thinking about skimping on a hair/makeup artist for your wedding day - DON'T! Professional hair and makeup versus DIY hair and makeup are like night and day. I didn't know it was possible to feel as beautiful as I felt on my wedding day, and it's all thanks to Emma! I HIGHLY recommend her! -

Rachel Sent on 07/07/2018Emma and her team are amazing. My makeup and hair as well as all my bridesmaids was truly DIFFERENT and I appreciate that so much. Sometimes wedding hair and makeup seems cookie cutter or all the same, but these are really some talented girls, Emma and the ladies that work for her. Everyone really looked stunning and we gave them the creative flexibility to work their magic. Emma is easy to work with and a good communicator. She realizes people have certain quirks with doing their own makeup and she combines the little things you do with your own makeup with the professional side. I was so impressed with my hair and makeup and my bridesmaids would say the same. Nothing was caked on, airbrush was awesome and you can tell they have a ton of experience under their belt. They also did a great job with my mom and grandmothers, they really know what they are doing with making makeup on an older woman's face look really top notch. -

Emma and her team were a great choice for my wedding. Doing a trial made a big difference for me since I do not wear much makeup and wanted a natural, true-to-me look.
Emma gave me a strong starting point, and by the wedding day I was able to clearly communicate what I wanted. She was very receptive to feedback and worked with me step by step to refine both hair and makeup.
The end result felt like a polished version of myself, and everything lasted through the evening and looked great in photos.
I felt really confident, which made a big impact on how I experienced the day. -

I had 6 bridesmaids that needed hair and makeup to be ready for a 1:30 p.m. wedding and i had other beauty vendors tell me that we'd have to begin at 5:00 am. With Emma we didn't have to start until 9:30 and everyone was finished and fabulous by 12. I opted only to have my makeup done by Emma mainly b/c my best friend from high school does hair and i wanted to include her in my big day. One of my bridesmaids has already asked for Emma's contact info to use them for her wedding one day!

I'm an event planner and plan weddings multiple times year. I work with vendors everyday. Communication is key, and every vendor knows that. Emma seemed to really struggle to communicate leading up to the wedding, which I think is absolutely unacceptable. As a paying client, FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY OF YOUR LIFE, you shouldn't have to be stressing over... OR QUESTIONING.. whether or not your hair and make up artist is going to show up because you haven't heard from them 3 months prior to the wedding month. This creates A LOT of stress for the bride..
Emma did a spectacular job with hair, in terms of the hair staying throughout the entire night. She was on time. She made sure that as you were finishing up your hair, the next girl was ready to ensure that ALL girls were properly taken care.
The CONS:
- I didn't feel like my hair modeled the images I showed her. Instead, it felt like she had a go-to hairstyle and did that because it was what she was more comfortable doing.
- She claimed she had done make up on Asian faces. She offered to send us photos and we asked multiple times, and NEVER received them. This was so we could have a peace of mind that the day-of wouldn't be a disaster, as it has been the case for other events and weddings where we had our make up done.
- When she got there, she was upset about the fact that the place mom & pop place didn't have tables set up for the hair and make up artist, claiming that 'she's worked with this place before so they should know'. This is unprofessional and a conversation she should be having OUTSIDE of the wedding party and wedding day if she wants to be set up with the right equipment when she does hair and make up at the venue.
- The day of the mock make-up, she tried to change the time. Again, there might be some room for flexibility leading up to the wedding day, but usually there isn't. And the reason for wanting to change the time was because she had to leave really early in the morning to make it to the venue. If that was a concern, she should've noticed what the commute was going to be earlier on - not the day before.
- The day of the mock make-up, she tried to lay her straightener and curler on a really nice table in our home. She said it was 'fine' after we asked her to put a towel down or something. We ended up putting down a hot pan mat that we use and ended up melting it. Kind of seemed careless for our house.
I personally think she created a lot of unnecessary stress. If you work in the wedding industry, you KNOW to make things run as smoothly as possible. I don't think she's doing it maliciously, but if you're going to work in this industry, you have to understand the commitment it requires.. and there's no cop-out. Hire her at your own risk.
++ I will say that the make up artist she works with a lot of the time, ARTECIA, is amazing. Her energy, her hygiene, and her experience (she's also a esthetician). She NAILED it. -

Emma literally ghosted me for weeks leading up to my own wedding. Who does that to paying clients!? If you are running your own business, in my opinion, you should be capable of communicating efficiently. For over a month Emma didn't bother to reply to any and all of my attempts to contact her; phone & email. Hire an assistant if you can't make time to speak to your existing clients! I work in financial services, so you could say I know a thing or two about professionalism and in my honest opinion, Emma has none.
She did offer to make amends by sending something in the mail, but she never replied to my last email (shocker right?) and I haven't received anything. Unless you want to be stressing out and calling the same vendor multiple times until they stop sending your calls to voicemail THREE DAYS BEFORE YOUR WEDDING I would recommend working with a beauty artist other than Emma Collins Beauty.
