Flawless Catering from Start to Finish!

We couldn’t be happier with the food and service provided by Emily's Catering at our wedding. Every single dish was delicious, from the passed appetizers to the main courses to the strawberry shortcake for dessert. So many of our guests have told us how much they loved the meal, and it was truly one of the highlights of the day.

The team was also a dream to work with throughout the entire planning process. They were professional, responsive, and made everything feel smooth and stress-free. It is clear how much care and effort went into every detail. We are so grateful for everything they did to help make our day so special. Highly recommend booking Emily's Catering for your wedding!

From the very beginning of our planning process, Rick and the Emily’s team exceeded every expectation we had for our wedding. Planning a wedding comes with so many moving parts, but their professionalism, attention to detail, creative ideas and genuine care made the entire process feel effortless.

The food was nothing short of extraordinary. Every course was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious—elevated, elegant, and memorable. Guests are still talking about the meal and how it was one of the best wedding dinners they have ever experienced. The quality of the ingredients, the thoughtful preparation and the creativity in the menu truly set them apart.

What impressed us just as much as the food was the service. The staff was attentive, polished, and incredibly warm. They anticipated needs before anyone even had to ask and made sure every guest felt well taken care of. Throughout the evening they moved seamlessly behind the scenes, ensuring everything ran smoothly while allowing us to simply enjoy the celebration.

Professional and Delicious

The venue my daughter selected for her wedding listed Emily's Catering Group as a preferred vendor. From the initial inquiry request, it became clear that Emily's Catering Group is responsive, professional, and thorough. Rick answered our request for information immediately and we were able to schedule a tasting at their showroom where we met Rick and Cheryl, tasted salad, entree, and dessert options, and received a comprehensive list of menu options and a transparent pricing estimate. Cheryl was terrific in the months leading up to the wedding checking in, answering any questions we had, and ensuring that they were well prepared for the big day. She is so friendly and knowledgeable and put us all at ease. They were in contact with our venue directly to coordinate all of the details and, on the day of the wedding, we did not have to think or worry about anything--all the details were executed perfectly. From a water, iced tea, and popcorn welcome table station before the ceremony to a full array of stationary charcuterie and passed appetizers during the cocktail hour, followed by a full sit down dinner with salad, bread, and choice entrees, and finally a ceremonial wedding cake and mini dessert table spread, all of the food was fantastic--presentation was great and all tasted delicious. The day of staff was professional and service was excellent. We are grateful to everyone at Emily's Catering Group for helping to make my daughter and son-in-law's wedding so special and memorable.

Incredible - Don't hesitate, book with Emily's!

Emily's Catering was absolutely fantastic. From the very start, Rick (the owner) worked with us on developing a menu that was elegant and fit our wedding while being within budget. He took his time with us to get the menu right - and when we went in for the tasting, it was INCREDIBLE! He said to us "I don't want your food to be good - it needs to be great" and they delivered on that promise. Cheryl was wonderful in helping us manage all of our catering details leading up to the wedding. During our wedding, the staff was professional, efficient, and friendly. Every person there from Emily's catering kept an eye on us as the bride and groom to make sure we had what we needed while not being overbearing - it's a fine line to balance, and they did it with ease. On top of that, our guests all raved about the quality of the food from start to finish, including the thoughtfulness of refreshments ahead of the ceremony til the incredible dessert spread. Don't question using Emily's Catering - you are in the best hands with them!

Five stars just isn't enough.

I cannot rave enough about my experience with Emily's catering. From customizing the menu to match our citrus bridal shower theme, to flexibility in moving our date to giving us plenty of time to finalize the count, they were super-easy to work with. And oh my -- the food was beyond delicious! We were primarily an Italian crowd with extremely high standards and the flavors blew us away. Five stars just isn't enough.

PHENOMENAL!!! Best choice we made for our wedding

Emily's catering group was by far the best choice we made for our wedding!! Our guests have not stopped raving about how amazing the food was from the appetizers to the main course and desserts.

The appetizers were phenomenal! The variety of options allowed us to have something for everyone. Each appetizer was better than the next. The grazing table full of delicious foods was beautiful. There wasn't one thing we didn't love! Every guest had their plates full with the different stations that were available. Also, we are not cake lovers and the cake they provided was unbelievable.

Emily's catering was so accommodating to different needs in our case having gluten free options.Cheryl was so helpful and timely, answering every question we had so quickly. The planning team made our wedding process so easy and seamless. Their team the day of the wedding was fantastic as well! They checked on us after the wedding making sure everything was going well.

Overall, Emily's catering far exceeded our expectations! We cannot thank them enough for making our wedding day perfect!

Excellence in all areas!

So thankful we chose Emily's Catering Group to cater my daughter's wedding. I knew as soon as I spoke with Rick that he had the experience we needed as we turned our backyard into the event venue. Rick worked with us to create an incredible menu that fit within our small budget and his staff handled everything so that we did not need to think about any of the details during the reception. Additionally, I want to shout out to Marcy and her team for enduring the torrential rain that flowed for most of our event. When the downpour moved our outdoor ceremony to the covered porch, Marcy and her team quickly adjusted and managed to safely deliver the passed apps to guests finding shelter in both the tent and the porch. The plated salad and entree, along with the family-style sides, were all delicious! We are grateful for the staff's flexibility, creativity and professionalism, - they did all the thinking, so we could just be in the moment. Highly recommend!

I was recently married in August in Derby, Connecticut and utilized Emily's for our catering service. I can confidently say Rick and the entire Emily's Catering team made our wedding day so incredibly special. From the beginning, Rick and Cheryl went above and beyond. During the planning process, Emily's instantly wowed us with their thoughtfulness and expertise in the space. (The tasting was especially fantastic!!) Rick presented us a dynamic menu, one that we knew would impress and satisfy our guests. From delicious passed hors d'oeuvres to pre-ceremony popcorn, unbelievably beautiful plated dinners cooked to perfection and an array of yummy bite-sized desserts, each detail was executed with precision and an immense amount of care. Our guests are STILL talking about the food, especially our wedding cake :) The service and the presentation were both outstanding!!!

And the service—hire them not only for the amazing food but for the five-star service! Our wedding day forecast unfortunately had rain, but that didn't stop Emily's from catering our event as originally planned. Although there were hurdles from our outdoor venue that were out of our control, Rick and Cheryl jumped into action. Countless phone calls were made, updating us every step of the way, and within two hours the team found a solution. It was so comforting knowing the commitment their team passionately has for delivering the best possible service to their clients. We truly can't thank Rick, Cheryl, and the entire Emily's catering enough for saving the day.

Amazing experience!

Rick and Cheryl were the most amazing to work with. Rick listened to our vision and made our dreams come to life. Cheryl helped us every step of the way, answering all of our questions and making our day perfect. Rick, Cheryl & staff are incredible!

Rick sat with my daughter, fiancé & myself to go over the many details of planning wedding reception.
They supply Everything……
linens, plates, flatware, glasses, coffee cups, food service, Bar service….
When it came to the actual reception nothing was left unattended. They choreographed the reception perfectly!
They brought 2 bars never even saw the cocktail hour bar come down it was just magically gone!

The cocktail hour / reception meal was delicious there was so much food and drink.

We were extremely impressed with this catering group and highly recommend their services.

The BEST caterer in Connecticut!

The team at Emily’s did a phenomenal job catering our wedding at the Hill-Stead Museum in September. Their selection of passed hors d’oeuvres for cocktail hour are incredible (so many of our guests raved about the shrimp!), and Rick, Cheryl, and Marcy were so amazing to work with. All of the food was spectacular. Definitely recommend!

Emily's Catering was Exquisite

We used Emily's Catering for our daughter’s wedding this September! From the first phone call with Rick to the final morsals at the wedding, Emily's Catering team was phenomenal! We are just back from a Christmas gathering and our friends and family are still talking about the cocktail hour! The grazing table and the appetizers were delicious, creative, and beautiful! I had shared with the team that our family was filled with foodies and charcuterie competitions were frequent events at our gatherings. Well, this grazing table set a brand new standard! The abundance, quality, and presentation of meats, cheeses, stuffed grape leaves, olives, breads, etc. was spectacular. The main courses were delicious and served with elegance and efficiency. The cake and dessert table were plentiful and delicious, as well! The entire staff was polite, courteous and hard working! Our venue required a lot of walking from cocktail hour to the dinner and cook tents. The staff never missed a beat and were responsive and energetic to the needs of our guests!!
I have recommended Emily's Catering to everyone I know! Thanks to Rick, Cheryl and Jana for all of your attention to detail, creativity and enthusiasm for a very memorable day for our family!!

Fantastic food, service and price!

Emily's catering is as close to perfection as you can find in caterer. Let me start with their service. From the start they answered every question and worked with us every step of the way. And at our daughter's wedding on 11/6/21 they went way above catering service by helping us set up the chairs, decorations, memory table while putting together a beautiful table. Everyone, and I mean everyone was impressed with the food, from the appetizers to the deserts it was delicious!! The staff attended to every detailed, got us more wine to avoid going to the bar and there was so much great food!! They are worth every penny and their prices are very competitive and better than most. They made our daughter's wedding a pure joy. I would recommend them without reservation. Thanks to Jana and her team, Cheryl and Rick.

I can not say enough amazing things about Emily’s !!!! The food was so delicious the staff was so nice! Jane the head caterer was so awesome I can not thank her enough. She was so attentive, made sure that me and my husband ate and that are drinks were never warm!! Amazing is an understatement would recommend 100 percent you will not be disappointed!!!!!!

Best food and service ever

Emily's was an absolute amazing caterer. They lived through the pandemic with me, I had to move my reception 4 times. People are still calling me to ask about the food! Everything was spectacular and the staff was amazing. They were so helpful and positive. We had to change everything day of because of rain and they made my venue look better than I could have ever expected! Loved them and they now have a forever customer with me.

Beyond Expectations

Mother Nature and Murphy showed up unexpectedly for my son and daughter-in-law's backyard wedding on May 29th - wind, rain, record cold temps, and the challenge of warming the tent for the original plan of outdoor dining. But once Emily's staff arrived, they took control of every detail, removed all our stress, and we enjoyed an intimate and magical night. From early planning to end of night wrap up, nothing but pure professionalism. Thank you to all the staff that night - the service, the food and the chef were amazing. Thank you all! THE BEST.

I hired Emily's catering group for my wedding on 10/17/20, and I cannot recommend them enough. Being a bride in 2020 certainly had its challenges, but thanks to Emily's Catering Group, figuring out food and beverages for my party had zero challenges at all. I give them 2 months notice to throw together the catering for my wedding (again, during COVID times), and they blew me out of the water with their professionalism, quality of their food, and just help and responsiveness in general. First of all, their food is AMAZING. Its not often that I have been to a wedding where the food was exquisite, and thanks to them the food at my wedding was. I cannot tell you how many times my guests came up to me throughout the night with compliments on how absolutely delicious everything was. Like seriously, incredible. Second of all, they were so flexible with me in regards to food options, the pace of the food coming out (I opted for a various food bars and tons of apps sprinkled throughout the night), which to many other catering companies that I spoke with provided a bit of a logistical issue. Third of all, Cheryl and Rick the owners are incredibly sweet people, and the thought of supporting a small, family-owned business was perfect and just what I was looking for during the unprecedented times in 2020. Including the owners, all of the staff were so polite and professional. Dont walk, RUN to have Emily's Catering Group cater whatever function you have in mind. I have ZERO regrets, and you won't either. PS, did I mention how good the food was?!

Best food!

Rick’s team is sensational! My wedding guests RAVED about the food! Saying it was the best they have had at a wedding, and even the best food they have had EVER! Not only was the food so delicious, it was huge portions, delivered hot, and everyone’s plates were delivered almost simultaneously. We hate going to weddings and everyone is eating at different times! Rick’s team helped us personalize an amazing menu for the entire day, helped us with speciality cocktails, and delivered amazing service at the wedding! Every staff member was extremely personable and helpful, without ever getting in the way of the party and everything else going on! I love Emily’s Catering and if you consider going with another caterer for your event, don’t…just don’t.

Emily's Catering was the first vendor we booked when we began planning our wedding 2 years ago. Food and drink was the highest priority for our wedding after finding a venue. Even though our date was 2 years away, Rick invited us, along with our parents, for a tasting. It was evident before the end of the meal that we could trust Rick and his team to provide a quality dining experience for our guests. Additionally, since we were planning a tented wedding at a non-traditional venue- he explained they can provide linen, tableware and drinkware as part of our package (as well as open bar service), which lessened the amount of items we would have to rent from an additional vendor.
From the start, Cheryl was prompt with communication for quotes and contracts, and kindly answered all of my confused bride to be questions. Additionally, when we had to postpone our large wedding due to COVID-19, she was patient and understanding as we worked together to find a new date during such chaotic times for the wedding industry. About 3 months before our original date, we ultimately decided to have a small wedding and dinner for 40 people in our backyard. Once again, Cheryl was nothing but helpful as she talked me through menu options, and worked with the chefs to ensure some of our dishes would be Vegan friendly for myself and a few of our guests. We ended up doing a buffet meal, which every guest has continued to compliment, and I could not have been happier with. (The roasted corn salad was absolutely perfect for a summer wedding). I am so appreciative of Rich and Cheryl for being so accommodating, and of course providing delicious food for our special day. It only makes me more excited to experience our plated dinner next year! Overall, I would highly recommend Emily's Catering for delicious food, and high quality customer service. Thank you Rick, Cheryl, and team for all that you do!

Best Ever!

I’ve been to a lot of parties, tried a lot of different catering in the area and Emilys is by far the best. I thought that planning the food for my wedding would be overwhelming but Emilys made it incredibly simple. Every time I have talked to Rick or Cheryl, I have felt at ease. Rick knew exactly what I was looking for and was able to do everything I could imagine.

The best of the best!

Emily's is by far the best caterer CT has to offer. After a long hard search for someone to cater our wedding, Emily's was clearly the best choice. They were so incredibly responsive throughout the entire process I was so impressed. Our wedding would not have been so great without them. I highly recommend them to anyone for any event. Cheryl and Rick and the rest of the staff are amazing people, you'll be lucky to work with them.

Amazing service & food. Took the stress away from planning to day off

There are so many reasons I would recommend Emily's to anyone starting their search, but below are my main reasons - it's long but they deserve the review.

THE FOOD:
When you start looking for caterers, you will notice many of them have delicious food, but the food Emily's team delivers is beyond expectations. They have the most creative pairing. Theirs are amazing - they do they adorable parings like a mini margarita served with a taco or a kielbasa with a mini Guinness. Its unique and all our guests talk about it. THEY INCLUDE A CAKE ! Huge saving for us and delicious.

SOOO EASY TO WORK WITH:
1. They respond to everything immediately. Cheryl who is the main point of contact, responds to emails, call and requests within hours of sending her a questions. Rick (the owner) is so accommodating to your vision or any questions you have - he is very easy to talk to.

2. I forgot to order table number cards and realized week of. I mentioned it to them over the phone and they just offered to help. this is the kind of service that puts your mind at ease day of.

3. I had a special request (my dad likes a certain rum; not very expensive only $30 a bottle) but I wanted to have it at our wedding for him, they went out and bought it so it could be on-site

4. We had a unique venue (we rented out a Broadway-esque theatre) and had backstage tours for guests. because of this, Rick had to move his on-site kitchen set-up a few times (this was planned but it all happened so seamlessly!)

BTW - Day of ... they had 2 serves follow me and my husband around thru out the day, they ensured we were fed and had a drink in our hand at all times. You hear you don't eat at your wedding -- we sure it did and it was delicious.

I can't say enough of how great they were to work with or how exceptional the food and service was. If you are starting or ending your search, you should absolutely consider and choose Rick and the team at Emily's

Emily's did such an amazing job at our wedding. It's been 2 months and people are still raving about the food! We still can't believe how amazing everything was. Food was our main priority and we were impressed from the first meeting until the day of the wedding. We used them for both the bar and the food and I loved that they made sure that my husband and I always had anything we needed. The dessert bar was spectacular! I have a huge sweet tooth so I very much appreciated the amazing desserts. My husband was happy that they were able to add in his favorite dessert as well. Where do I begin? Let me just say with Emily's catering you can rest assured your wedding day or party will be superlative. Our daughter got married in MA on 9/15/18. Two weeks later I am still getting emails and messages from our guests about the amazing food that was served at the affair. Artistry abounded, both culinary and visual. The cocktail hour had all guests begging for more and then when dinner was served our guests could not believe the gastronomy kept on coming. As the mother of the bride and interested cook myself, I was able to make suggestions about menu items and food preparation that were important to the bride and groom. After all, it was their wedding and the foods they loved they wanted to have mixed into Rick's otherwise, amazing menu choices. Never a no, never a hesitation, only yes that sounds great. Although the venue’s kitchen was super tiny it never made difference to Rick and his miracle team. The food abounded, and our 160 guests were lavishly waited upon with a degree of professionalism I can say without reservation compared to the best of NYC restaurants. Whenever there was a road block with my venue Rick was always there with a we can do attitude. No issue was too big, no matter to trivial for Rick and his incredible associate Cheryl, to help take me down from the cliff. So how do we love Emily's Catering, let me count the ways...

We just got married 9/8/18 at South Farms and had Emily's Catering do an incredible job! They went above and beyond! We received so many compliments from our guests about how great the food was and I myself was so impressed with not only how amazing the food was, but how well everything was presented! Emily's did a fantastic job in both catering to our guests, as well as to us, the bride and groom! We had a mac 'n cheese bar as part of our cocktail hour, which was a huge hit! I wish I could give them more than 5 stars because they certainly deserve it! Thank you Emily's for helping us make our perfect day even more perfect!

The wedding this past Sunday Labor Day weekend, was made perfect with Rick Kersner’s outstanding support and recommendations. He planned it as if for his own daughter. Not only was the food unbelievable and creative his staff was right on with smiles and great service to all. Cocktail hour was perfect and dinner of seafood and filet mignon and all the family style side dishes delicious. He recommended the florist, band, photographer and this perfect day at SouthFarm in Morris CT put our event as a lifetime over the top day! Thank you thank you Rick and Staff! *****

Emily's Catering was great for our summer wedding! We had a specific vision of our menu (and some very specific beverage service requirements) and style of service and Rick & co. absolutely met every request. I've been an event planner for 10 years and was a bit worried at first because they seemed to easily agree to everything with no pushback or adjustments to the budget--it seemed too good to be true! But everything was exactly what we were looking for, beautiful, and delicious. I've catered so many weddings where the guests of honor never eat a meal, but the food was so good, we definitely enjoyed a full plate! I'm still thinking about the magic they worked with Portabello mushrooms-yum!

Emily's Catering Group is simply awesome. I had so many compliments from guests about their food and service. They went above and beyond to help us out when we learnt that the delivery of rentals would cost a lot. They offered to pick up the rentals and return them for free! Can't recommend them enough.

As the prior reviews make a point of mentioning... truly exceptional. It is hard to describe how happy we are with Emily's Catering. I wish I could taste the food for the first time again. Going on two months later now, guests are still talking about the food and service Emily's Catering provided. They are the most professional, kind, and enthusiastic catering service I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. A huge thank you to Rick and Cheryl for making our wedding day exceptional. We booked Emily's Catering Group for our autumnal garden wedding. We can't say enough great things about our experience with them. The food was delicious. The cocktail hour display was phenomenal and the dinner was so tasty. We did food stations and guests gave us compliments throughout the night about how they enjoyed that they could pick what they wanted and how much they wanted. Rick took the time to incorporate vegan preperations which really meant a lot to me. The risotto is one of the best things I ever ate and the apple cider hot toddy was so popular we ran the stock dry! The wait staff was incredibly kind and took the time to speak with us. Cheryl in the office was so patient and kind as we ironed out all of the details between the venue. It was a pleasure working with the team. I highly recommend!

Food and drinks were the most important to us when planning our wedding! After talking to Rick about a menu I knew it was going to be a great match! The pass around appetizers and awesome array of stations kept our wedding fun by having our guests up and moving! Everyone raved about the food and the staff was outstanding! Jana made sure that we, as the bride and groom were always well fed and never thirsty! Also, another wonderful part about the entire experience from setting up a tasting until finalizing the last minute details was the punctuality and responsiveness from Cheryl! She is amazing and gets back to you so quickly! Would recommend Emily's Catering for any catering needs!

I have been dying to write this review, because I do not know how else to thank Rick and his team for everything they did for us! I had a 265 person outdoor wedding; it was held under a tent at my husband's parents house - Rick and his team pulled the entire thing together. Starting with the cocktail hour - people were coming up to me SO excited about the amazing appetizers (the display of the antipasto station and the cheese wheel was incredible). The bartenders were amazing and personable - creating custom, fun drinks for everyone - there was also NEVER a line at the bar (and for 265 people, that's a big accomplishment). The staff was professional, the meal was top notch and came out very quickly (looking and tasting beautiful)- everything was awesome. Working with Rick and Cheryl leading up to the wedding was also seamless. I ended up calling Rick several times asking his opinion about non-catering related things, because he clearly has so much experience doing big, formal weddings. They truly made my wedding amazing - I could not have been happier with them. Thank you Rick & Emily's Catering Group!!

You will not find a local company that can compete with what Emily’s has to offer. Customized menu, professional staff, setup, cleanup, and budget friendly. Everyone raved about the food and our vendor was thrilled with how clean the place was. I’m still hearing from relatives about our signature drinks. Wish I had pictures to share from our Labor Day wedding.

We used Emily's Catering Group for our Wedding in Ridgefield CT, and it was the best decision we made. My wife and I are so happy and impressed with how Rick, Cheryl, and the rest of the Emily's staff helped throughout our whole wedding process.

We didn't want our wedding to be ordinary or typical of other weddings we had been to. They understood our vision and offered suggestions that would work with our style, as well as give us the freedom to be creative in our own way. In the end, it all felt unique, and exactly what we wanted.

The menu was a huge hit (Southern Fried Chicken, BBQ Brisket and Butternut Squash Ravioli). And while the food was very much comfort food, it was all presented in an elegant way. A month later we are still getting rave reviews about how they just crushed every aspect of the food, drinks and service, cocktail hour, dinner and dessert.

The staff was incredible; professional, personable, attentive and prompt. They made all the workings of the wedding smooth, and it all was happening behind the scenes.

As great as the night was, we are sometimes a little saddened thinking we might never have a chance to throw a party with them again. It was a once in a lifetime experience.

Exceptional.
It is hard to write just *how good* Emily's Catering is at the helm of Rick Kerzner. The moment my wife discovered them in searching we made an appointment to meet in their office. We were met by Cheryl and Rick (along with Harley an awesome dog). As we went through menus they kept bringing out incredible food for us to sample -- it was like a five course meal while I sat there in shorts and flip-flops as we discussed a possible wedding venue -- **NO commitment or money expressed as of yet** -- they wanted us to see/taste what they had and let us decide if we wanted to go forth with their group. Each time I talked with Rick he made everything seem easy -- he told me not to worry about anything -- and he was right. On our day he and the crew arrived and I had to worry about nothing (even though I did)-- the very talented group went to work making my wedding exceptional. And I had to do NOTHING -- they kept bringing out so much incredible food with the most professional service -- there was never a delay or any impedance to giving my guests enormous amounts of exceptional food/drinks.
The food drinks and service were outstanding.
The food in my opinion was Michelin 3 star quality -- and my guests continue to regret "not having access to leftovers." Rick and crew you are AWESOME -- EXCEPTIONAL -- THE BEST at what you do -- Katie and myself are *grateful* for you making our day exactly what it needed to be --> unforgettable -- and it would have never been that without your exceptional high-quality delicious work. I cannot speak highly enough of Emily's catering and the experience they provided for our June wedding! We decided on Emily's as they were a local business with rave reviews, and I can now say from experience that every review was spot on. Being a student with a crazy schedule made our wedding planning timeline a bit unorthodox, but Cheryl worked with us and guided us along every step of the way, from doing our tasting 13 months out while I was on summer break all the way down to frantic emails the night before our big day! We were also on a tight budget, and when we went to the tasting and tried the incredible food that Emily's is serving we thought it was beyond what was possible for us. Our tasting alone was better than much of the fine dining I've had in my life. Rick was informative and seemed genuinely interested in what my partner and I envisioned for our big day. When Cheryl and Rick sent over our proposed menu the next day I had tears in my eyes (dramatic, I know, but I come from a family of foodies!) because what they planned out for us was beyond our wildest dreams for what our wedding menu could ever be. Our family is still raving about the food, the beautiful grazing table and just how many options we had for our appetizers and dinner 'stations' - though the lobster rolls and steamers definitely stole the show! The presentation was gorgeous and portions were HUGE. The staff were all phenomenal and spent all evening making sure my husband and I (and all the guests!) were taken care of. Deciding to DIY much of the wedding had also been an extra stress, but the team at Emily's ended up taking care of most of the responsibilities I thought would end up being assigned to family members, allowing every single one of our guests to just enjoy the day with us. Emily's ensured our wedding day was spectacular and 'all about us', which we will be forever thankful for.

Oh my god, what can I say about Emily's that will do them justice? First of all, the owner (Rick), coordinator (Jana), and client manager (Cheryl) made our wedding day a breeze. Cheryl answered every nonsense email I sent her with patience and kindness and a helpful answer. Rick and Jana basically acted as day-of coordinations for the reception, running the show and and making us feel like guests at our own party. They assigned one or two employees to follow my husband and I around and make sure we had enough to eat and drink. They were reasonably priced, kind, responsive, and efficient. At the end of the night, they even put together a box of leftovers for us.

I can't recommend Emily's — and especially Cheryl, Rick, and Jana — enough.

We used Emily's for our wedding in March of 2016 and they were fantastic! Rick was super easy to work with and had some great suggestions for our menu offerings. After getting the ol' bait and switch (offered a low per plate price, then charged a ridiculous service fee) from another caterer, Rick was able to help us out on short notice (about 2 months before the wedding date). He offered us a very fair price since we had an off season wedding. We told him our budget and he was able to offer us everything we wanted and more. Emily's is completely full service, they take care of the dinner, cocktail hour, bar, table designs, servers and bartenders. When the wedding day came, Emily's showed up and promptly set everything up. Everything looked beautiful and we had a lot of compliments on the table settings. During the cocktail hour, Emily's huge selection of passed appetizers were a hit. They have very creative passed apps, and all the different options were a lot of fun and all of our guests were super impressed. The bartenders Emily's provided were also fantastic. These ladies were super energetic and friendly and they made great (heavy handed) mixed drinks. We also had a huge beer selection. The dinner service was prompt, tasty, and there was plenty of food. They even offered seconds to our guests who wanted them, and had a special meal made my little cousin who is a super picky eater. The other vendors were also well taken care of. When the end of the night came, Emily's crew helped us with the break down process which was a huge help. I could not be happier with the way things went down on our wedding night and Emily's was a huge part of that. They made our wedding seem 10x more expensive than it really was. If you are looking to have a classy, fun, and most importantly, affordable, wedding, definitely give Emily's a call.

Rick, and the staff of Emily’s Catering, are truly amazing. Rick is a great guy - funny, easygoing and amazing at his craft. Every interaction we had with Rick was a true pleasure. We visited him twice before our wedding - once for a tasting, and once to finalize our menu. He was open to all of our ideas and incredibly accommodating to every idea, even incorporating my mom’s own meatballs and sauce as a course! The appetizers were simply amazing and people are still talking about them. They were creative, fun, and delicious. There was certainly no shortage! The courses were incredible. From the taste to the presentation, they knocked it out of the park. Later in the night, I was upset to see no one on the dance floor. When I went looking for everyone, I was FLOORED to see the immense quantity of desserts that were displayed in the dessert room. There were tables upon tables of desserts, stations, etc that was SO MUCH MORE than I expected. At that point, I understood why no one was on the dance floor! There were things that I honestly missed because there was just so much, but later learned about them after hearing everyone talk about all of the deliciousness. Emily’s was absolutely, without doubt, the best. Leading up to the wedding, Cheryl was an absolute dream to work with. There were days I felt like Cheryl was my best friend. Embarrassingly, I sent Cheryl a lottttt of emails, and she was always friendly, organized and accommodating. I truly trusted her and had nothing to worry about. We would recommend Emily’s Catering to anyone. They went above and beyond. The food was amazing, drinks were great, the staff was incredible, the presentation was impeccable and the quantity was immense. Book Rick immediately - he and his team are so great to work with and the food is out of this world. At the tasting stage, we were especially impressed by two things - first, the Chilean sea bass (and the rest of the food, but seriously, the sea bass) and second, Rick's attitude and expertise. Some of other caterers we met with were too quick to say "we can do anything" - but we wanted someone with an actual vision and an ability to direct us towards a cohesive menu that would satisfy (and impress) a wedding that would have a lot of foodies from NYC. Rick not only met that challenge and designed a spectacular menu - from passed apps to mains to a delicious dessert bar - but also did it without raising the price every time we wanted to make a substitution or change a sauce (which other caterers tried). Rick also catered our welcome reception the night before the wedding, and did a "Taste of New England" themed event with lobster rolls, clam chowder, a sliders bar and lots of sides. Everything was so good our guests thought the rehearsal could've been a wedding feast, and they were even more impressed at the wedding - many comments that it was the best wedding food they've ever had (or that it shouldn't even be considered "wedding food" it was so good)! You can't go wrong with Rick and I appreciated his steady hand and calm demeanor even as we were making last minute additions and deletions with guests. Thank you Rick!

I have been looking forward to writing this review since my wedding - Rick and his team were absolutely perfect in every single way. I had a wedding for 250 people at my parents home, so we needed to have an extremely organized team who could cook for the masses. And boy did Rick and team deliver! From the first planning phases to the day of, every detail was perfect.

Rick planned the most creative menu I have ever seen - appetizers like shrimp with a squeeze bulb of tequila, mini crocks of mac and cheese, duck quesadillas, a grilled cheese bar, etc - and the drinks were outrageously fun. He personally made jalapeno-infused mezcal, and created a frozen vodka bar that my friends have been raving about for weeks. The entire salad and dinner course was served to 250 people in under an hour, and dinner was cooked PERFECTLY for everyone. Multiple people commented that their steaks were done just right and were the perfect temperature.

More than that, Rick was kind, thoughtful, and such an absolute pleasure to have as a part of my day. I genuinely enjoyed getting to know him; he was quick to reply to all my emails, had innovative ideas, and he and his team made my day perfect. He truly understood how to make the food and drinks an integral part of the day. I will absolutely use him again and cannot say enough good things about him and his team! You will not regret using Emily's!

I am an extremely picky person when it comes to food and service. We hired them for our wedding without having tasted the food. We had read reviews and spoken to many people who had fabulous experiences. At our tasting, the food was superb! They had pulled some food from another event they were catering so we literally tasted that food that was cooked in bulk. This made us very happy!

At the wedding, countless people told me and my wife that this, "was the best wedding food they had ever had ". Rick was highly responsive to all of our requests. He even showed up at the end of our party to make sure everything went well! The service staff was amazing even though we were outside and the heat index was about 110. I was sad that we only had a small tray of food to take home, but it speaks volume about the quality. Almost everything was gone! Highly, highly, highly recommend!

Hiring Emily's Catering was the best decision we made for our wedding day. We must have talked to 20 different caterers (including the two preferred by our venue) but Emily's was by far the best quality and value. Our guests, most of whom were from NYC and all of whom have very high standards -- RAVED about the food. The appetizers were plentiful and beautiful (our fave was the ahi tuna tacos served with a mini margarita) and the entrees (filet mignon, miso sea bass, chicken, and a stuffed portobello) were all delicious.

And if the quality of the food and fairness of pricing isn't reason enough, Rick and Cheryl are the easiest people to work with. I had absolutely no concerns or reservations heading into the wedding because I knew they had every detail covered!

We had a wonderful experience with Emily's Catering Group. During planning they were flexible and open to what we wanted, but also helpful with providing ideas. They were easy to communicate with and friendly. On our big day everything ran smoothly. The food was so delicious, perfectly cooked and great variety! Rick has so many fun options to make your wedding unique. Our guests raved about it for weeks after! Service was exceptional and they made sure that even the tiny details were in place. We hired Emily's Catering for our wedding on 4/23 and they were great! The food was really good, staff was very friendly and helpful, and everything flowed very smoothly behind the scenes. Cheryl/Rick were very good to work with - both very friendly, attentive and professional. Everyone loved the food and I really loved how we were able to really personalize our menu. My husband's side of the family is Colombian so they made amazing chicharrons and empanadas during our cocktail hour. I grew up on the Shoreline in CT and we even had a New England station with lobster rolls and steamers! The also provide a 2 tier wedding cake which was really nice - one less vendor I needed to hire.

Day of, they really took care of everything and I really didn't have to be involved at all! I would definitely recommend Emily's catering for fantastic wedding food, a personalized menu, and great service. Thanks Rick/Cheryl!

SUPERB!!! Honestly I was blown away with the quality, care, professionalism, & execution of services that Rick and his staff provided at our wedding! He was referred to me by a girlfriend who hired him a couple years before who said he was the best and she was absolutely right. It was perfect right from the initial contact, menu tasting, quick email responses, walk though, and right on through the wedding day. His office mgr, Cheryl, was great to work with in ironing out all the details and his captain at the wedding, Jonathan, ran everything so perfectly & smoothly. All of our guests raved about how delicious & plentiful the food was. We had an antipasto station, 8 passed hors d'ouvres, sit down 2 course menu, followed by cake, desserts, & coffee/tea. They even created an AMAZING Art Deco cake replica from a picture I sent them!

You have 1 shot at that perfect day, so Emily's Catering Group is definitely the way to go!

I can't thank Rick & his staff enough for making my dream wedding come true!

We cannot say enough good things about Rick, Cheryl, and Emily's! They were so great to work with from the start. Rick answered my endless stream of questions (it really was endless) and made sure that everything was going to be perfect for the wedding day. The best part was that they really executed on what was planned. Cheryl followed up with me and was so quick to get me any updated documents, etc. They allowed us to make changes to the menu throughout the process.

Wedding day came and the crew was fantastic. The set up was exactly as i had envisioned which was huge as it was not a normal set up for the venue. The candles were lit before the ceremony. Emily's really ran the show, and we couldn't be more appreciative.

Everyone raved about the food (Especially the appetizers!). We provided our own alcohol, and the bartenders were fantastic to work with. Overall we couldn't have been happier with the entire experience.

Thank you Emily's! We recommend this crew to every bride and groom. You will not be disappointed!

After lots of research and reading hundreds of reviews, my husband and I hired Emily's catering for our 8.15.15 wedding at the Branford House in Groton CT.

During the planning process Cheryl (the office manager) answered all our questions and paid attention to every last detail....down to the way we wanted the napkins folded. She made an overbearing process feel easy and made us feel confident that the Emily's team had the day under complete control!

Rick, the owner of Emily's, created a fabulous menu that melded both my husband and I's unique tastes. He was sooooo accommodating that we were able to add specialty desserts and our favorite cocktails without the per plate price ever changing...which is completely unheard of!

About 6 months prior to the wedding Rick offered us a lovely tasting and reviewed the day of details. He had several fabulous ideas to add to our wedding day including loaning us a full 15ft wooden bar that was setup outdoors.....It was truly the talk of the night!

Looking back on our big day, my husband and I can't rave enough about the value, service and fabulous food Emily's offered us, our bridal party and our guests. We were astounded by the attentive bartenders, creative appetizers and fun dessert bar featuring our favorites (including hibachi-smores) which the guests were encourages to grab for their bus-ride back to the hotel. We could go on and on…but would rather say THANK YOU EMILY'S you made our day!

Hats off to you and your team! Emily's Catering made my wedding spectacular.

The food was excellent, the service was fantastic, and your team worked so independently that you made it stress free for me, my husband, and family.

Our guests thought the food was delicious and plentiful - believe me no one went home hungry or sober for that matter - and we would love to give special mention to Linda who seamlessly orchestrated the entire evening. She was so helpful, made sure everything arrived on time, and was a huge help during breakdown. We could not have asked for a better captain.

I cannot begin to tell you how appreciative I am of all the hard work. The team made the night a success, and I am grateful for those memories.

I need to let those of you planning weddings how absolutley wonderful and amazing Rick and his extensive staff are at Emily's Catering. Rick is a true professional who from day one makes you feel comfortable and confident that your event will be flawless and that he has it all under control. The food choices are extensive, wonderfully prepared and beautiful presented. His attention to detail and the taste and quality of the food is truly amazing. From incredible brisket, salmon, and chicken entrees to extensive appetizers that often come with a side shot of margaritas and soups--they are to die for. Their beef lamb chops, Emily's pizza, tuna tartare, duck and wild mushroom quesadillas, franks and jackets, pulled pork sliders were all out of this world. The guests all raved about the food for days and deservedly so. The prices are exceedingly fair for what they deliver plus they include numerous surprises for you on the day of the wedding. They are absolutely the best. If you want the catering of your wedding, which is such a big part of the event, to be the best that you can imagine, this is the place to go. You and your guests will be thrilled that you did and the service and setups will be seamless.

We had Emily's Cater our wedding reception at Webb Barn in Wethersfield CT. They did a fantastic job, and the food was amazing. Our guests were consistently commenting on how this was the best wedding food they ever had. Additionally during the months spent planning the wedding, Cheryl in the office is extremely responsive and helpful, and was great to work with. Emily's was also very flexible, and met several last minute requests we had. It was a pleasure working with Emily's Catering, They serve excellent food, are very professional, and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Rick and his team worked my wedding of 144 guests. From the day of the tasting to the wedding day, Emily's was amazing. They helped my husband and I in every way possible and to totally made the planning process so easy and fun. The food was amazing- everyone is still raving about it. They did more than just cater the event, they made it perfect from set up to break down. The staff was so friendly and helped my florist out, too. And Cheryl in the office is the best!! Highly recommend!

Rick, Cheryl, Linda, and the Emily's crew did an amazing job setting up and cooking for my wedding. The food was excellent and we had rave reviews from our guests. From my first interaction with Emily’s Catering Group to my last, it was always a pleasure. My fiancé and I had our hearts set on serving BBQ at our wedding. We were having a lot of trouble finding a caterer that was able to serve BBQ plated and presented nicely. When I spoke with Rick for the first time he told me it would absolutely not be a problem. His confidence made my fiancé and I feel at ease. After the tasting we knew for sure Emily’s Catering Group was the way to go. Anytime I had any issues and reached out to Cheryl she responded within hours and anytime my fiancé and I wanted to make a change or tweak the menu a bit it was not an issue. The flexibility was fantastic. The day of the wedding the food was just as good as our tasting. My favorite, the mac and cheese! All our guests are still ranting about how good the food during cocktail hour was and how inventive the duck quesadillas being served with mini shots of tequilas was. I would highly recommend Rick’s services.

I don't know where to begin! They were AMAZING! Throughout the entire process, we knew we were putting our wedding in good hands! RIck was so accommodating and helpful in making our perfect day come together the way they wanted- he just kept saying YES! The service was stellar- but it doesn't hold a candle to the FOOD! Our guests are STILL raving! The cocktail hour had everything we asked for, and more, and when it was done, our guests weren't sure they could even eat more food! (But of course, it was so delicious- they all did!) Dessert had them raving even more- they accommodated all specific little requests- like grown up root beer floats :) that were a hit! A must have- their tiramisu. It's like nothing you've ever had before, and I think my husband ate 10 of them. My husband and I had a few tastes here and there throughout the night for the most part, and at the end of the night were sad we hadn't eaten more. Fortunately, they had put together a doggie bag for us and we enjoyed our own FULL mean the next day, reliving all the moments! Working with them was so easy and they were so responsive- the night ran just as smoothly as we had a hoped!

Rick and the entire team at Emily's were amazing from the day we reached out to them. Our wedding was being held in NYC and sadly, all of the caterers we were referred to were quite off-putting. Our initial conversations made it clear that we were just another couple on their list and we were given nothing by way of personal consideration. That is, until we met Rick Kerzner.
After pouring through hundreds of reviews of caterers in the tri-state area, I found Emily's Catering and their reviews on sites like WeddingWire intrigued me enough to reach out. While I wasn't sure it would be feasible to have a non-NYC based caterer come in for the event, Rick made it clear that it would be no different than his other events that he travels for. He invited us to their amazing facility in Bristol and we were blown away. He treated us to more than just a delicious meal (a meal we still talk about today). He treated us like family and took the time to get to know us and what we wanted. He never tried to up-sell, he was just honest. He asked about our budget and then built out a menu based on that.
Rick offered us so much more than the other caterers we spoke with. While many of them either didn't offer rentals, linens, etc. or massively up-charged you for them, Rick built this into his pricing so that we could get an honest estimate of the total costs up front. He showed us his kitchen facilities and they were pristine, organized and stocked with quality brands that as foodies, we know and love. Rick doesn't cut corners - he is patient, his team is talented and most importantly on a day like this, he is honest and flexible. Emily's Catering actually helped relieve our stress. They never made us feel uncomfortable asking for anything and I remember on the day-of, thinking that nothing could possibly go wrong with Rick's team in place, because they would figure it out. And the food? Unbelievably delicious.

What an excellent dinner! Emily’s catered our May 2014 wedding in Southern CT. I know everyone says the bride and the groom don’t eat at their wedding but we were not going to miss this meal!
Rick, Cheryl, and Debbie understood our Paleo diet and vision. They delivered an exquisite banquet, both in flavor and presentation.
We also had our cake prepared by Emily’s. It was absolutely beautiful! Guests are still raving about the delicious cake and I am proud to say it was 100% Paleo. We are looking forward to our first anniversary to have another taste!
Rick and his team at Emily’s Catering Group are great! I am looking forward to our next event to plan with Emily’s Catering Group!

Don't even know where to begin with this review. Rick and Cheryl from Emily's were absolutely incredible. I've never heard of a couple getting thank you notes from their guesting after a wedding complimenting the incredible food they had at the wedding, but got multiple ones. Not only was the food delicious, but the presentation was a 10. So many guests commented on how cool and creative all the appetizers and desserts looked, and were delicious on top of it all. The staff was incredibly attentive and the bartenders were awesome. When the dance party moved outside, the bartenders handled the extra volume flawlessly. They were engaging with guests and really helped the party flow.

After the wedding, they packaged up a lot of our things and took them back to their office, and kept them for 2 weeks while we were on our honeymoon so we wouldn't have to worry about it, taking a huge burden off our shoulders!

I would strongly recommend Emily's to anyone who loves food and doesn't want to worry about anything on their wedding day.

Emily's Catering Group was absolutely incredible. Emily's catered our September 13th wedding at our family farm. Throughout the entire process, Rick and Cheryl were top notch. Day or night, they were there for assistance or advice. They made the planning a breeze with their knowledge and experience. We had an outdoor wedding and low and behold, it rained. The crew put on rain gear and didn't seemed to be phased whatsoever. Everyone on the team for our wedding made sure everything was perfect. Constantly checking on us throughout the night, making sure my husband and I got to eat and enjoy the food, which is many bride/groom complaints that they didn't get to eat. We took pictures immediately following the ceremony. Appetizers and drinks were passed around to all of us as well. We had someone tending to us the entire evening. The food was absolutely phenomenal! We had decided on doing stations and it was perfect. Our guests could not get over that we had lobster at our wedding. The bartenders were great! Warm and bubbly personalities and our guests really enjoyed their professionalism. We had a basic chocolate cake with buttercream frosting...it was the best cake I have ever tasted. My parents ate it for days after we left for our honeymoon! At the end of the night, all of the food was packaged up and given to our family. We were very impressed how the crew had cleaned up. Everything was put back to exactly where it was when they arrived. They even took the trash with them! That made clean-up the following day a breeze.
All in all, we would recommend Emily's to anyone looking for an amazing company for any kind of function. We cannot thank them enough for helping us with our special day. It truly was a day to remember!

I cannot say enough about Emily's Catering. Truly, they were essential to making our wedding day magical. We have heard countless compliments, months later, on the quality of the food. Rick was willing to add personal touches to our menu & Cheryl was constantly responsive to endless questions. Their cocktail hour choices are UNBELIEVABLE and I'm sad that I didn't get to eat more (though waitstaff came to our wedding party plenty of times with food during pictures, I was dazed and missed too many options!) The catering is expensive, but when you're a detailed bride who's setting up her party and you see Emily's waitstaff come rolling in two hours before the wedding begins, you absolutely realize where all the money goes. I cannot brag enough about this caterer, their quality, and the party they'll put on for you. Worth every penny. Thank you Rick, Cheryl, and all the staff the day of!

Rick, Cheryl and the staff of Emily's were absolutely incredible for our daughter's wedding on 9/13/14 at the Branford House in CT. I have gotten so many comments from guests about the quality of the food and the extreme responsiveness and professionalism of the staff. The staff were attentive, without being intrusive. Many guests said it was the best food they ever had at a wedding. We felt that we got excellent quality with reasonable cost. There was a delay in the start of the ceremony and people were ready to eat and drink as soon as the ceremony was over. The staff made sure that they got the food out to the guests as soon as the ceremony was over. The bar was well managed so that there was not a big line. The coffee bar and small desserts were a huge hit! The bride and groom were well cared for throughout the evening and were very happy with their choice of caterer. I would highly recommend Emily's for wedding or other catering event.

With out a doubt, I give Emily's Catering 5 out of 5 stars across the board. I am a CT native, but currently live out of state. Planning a wedding 1,000 miles away was not an easy task, but Emily's really made my wedding planning experience much easier. First of all, I showed up to my initial meeting with 7 people. Rick fed all 7 people a 3 course meal. He was so accommodating, and the food was so delicious we immediately booked him for our wedding. Rick also helped me create a fun menu that didn't consist of your typical wedding food. That was a major plus for us.

I spoke a lot with Cheryl and she was incredibly prompt with all of my questions. She was such a pleasure to work with!

The day of my wedding was sunny and beautiful. 20 minutes before our ceremony a thunderstorm rolled in. We had to scramble to move our outdoor ceremony inside. This also meant moving the bridal party to another building. Linda, from Emily's, was our go to person for the day and she quickly arranged her staff with a walkway of umbrellas for me so I wouldn't get wet. She also held up a sheet so my guests would see me prior to the ceremony. She walked me through our venue, holding the sheet up for me until I was able to reach an area where my guests couldn't see. That to me spoke volumes about Emily's staff. They truly went above and beyond for my wedding. Not to mention my guests are still raving about the food.

I would highly recommend Emily's Catering for any event. They helped to make my day special!

When it came time to pick a caterer, we knew we were going with Emily's from the beginning. During our consultation, Rick served us a three course meal before we even signed a contract! The food was fresh and absolutely delicious! Once we signed our contract, Rick and Cheryl were extremely easy to work with. They were open to all of our ideas and suggestions and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. My husband has a favorite pickle company and Rick worked with his distributors to have the pickles served during our cocktail hour. They were amazing during our wedding and we keep getting compliments from our guests about how it was the best food they've ever tasted at a wedding-and we couldn't agree more!

Rick and the Emily's Catering staff are out of this world amazing! I can't describe in words how wonderful they were to work with, and more importantly how wonderful the food was!

The food was delicious, served with care and every single dish was beautiful. I've never seen food served in such a beautifully visual way. Rick truly takes the time to help you design the exact menu you want, and then he gets to work on making it look like no one else ever could. My wedding was a few weeks ago, and I am still getting calls about how great the food was!

The staff is also just fabulous. Every single person who was there was delightful. They were fun, professional and great with the guests. Even Rick's assistant, Cheryl is wonderful to work with. You deal mostly with her via email with any questions you have, and she is quick to respond and always happy.

I can't thank Emily's Catering enough for the amazing job they did at my wedding. I will 100% be hiring them again for any future gatherings. THE BEST!!

The last of my 5 daughters began what we thought would be an "overwhelming task of choosing a caterer" for her 5/31/14 wedding at Tyrone Farm in Pomfret Ct. One of the many draws of Tyrone Farm was being able to bring in your own caterer. Ian, owner of Tyrone Farm highly recommended Emily's saying that they have been at Tyrone before and did a great job. After meeting with a few other caterers I visited Rick of Emily's Catering in Bristol Ct! We soon realized Emily's catering is light years ahead in the catering business. During my daughter's engagement every detail was of the utmost importance to Rick and his assistant Cheryl. Rick not only made suggestions but he listened to what we wanted and made adjustments as my daughters vision for her wedding evolved in that 2 year period! Always saying he can do and make whatever we want! Rick is a man of his word, you don't need a contract with Emily's as when he states something you know he stands by it! Our tastings were all beyond fabulous so our process of elimination for entrees was quite difficult for us. All the entrees were perfect in every way and the presentation was exquisite..Seared Gorgonzola Crusted Filet Mignon with a "21 Bottle" Reduction.....Herb Encrusted Sea Bass with Lemon Caper Sauce.."Airline" Breast of Chicken with Spring Cherry Salsa...the vegetarian choice was absolute heaven..Marinated Portabella Mushroom topped with Gorgonzola Cheese and Marinara Sauce served on Wilted Baby Spinach. All entrees were served on top of Risotto Cakes and asparagus. You may think this was a very traditional menu. There is nothing traditional about Emily's as Rick and his chefs (Debra and staff) have a rare talent of consistently making the ordinary extraordinary! From the bride and grooms first appetizer to the last cupcake sheer perfection. Thank you, Emily's Catering entire staff, you all bring Catering to new heights! Other catering businesses will have to rise to the occasion to compete with you!

Our wedding coordinator recommended Emily's and we were so glad they did. All of the other caterers we met with in CT(more than 12) were either incredibly expensive, rude, or both.I think when you're guaranteed business(by lots of wedding venues) you don’t have to try, or even give common courtesy to the person looking to hire you. Meeting with caterers(other than Emily's) was the worst part of planning. One thing they all had in common(again minus Emily's) was an annoying habit of not listening to what we the couple wanted at OUR wedding. So many of them gave me lectures about how we HAD to have this or that. Well, we didn’t want this or that, and they literally didn’t know how to answer me. They would just look at me as if I were dumb. And by the end I was feeling dumb, and I was starting to actually apologize to them for what I wanted.

From the start Emily's was different. Everything I said we were interested in they understood, they produced a sample menu, and they pretty much nailed it! We had found our caterer! Cheryl and Rick were wonderful. Whatever we wanted—we were told it was no problem, it was our wedding. We didn't want passed hors d'oeuvres, instead we wanted a dessert buffet—no problem. We didn't want veggies—no problem. We wanted an extra sauce for the beef—no problem. We needed them to flip our ceremony room to become the dining room in an hour—no problem. They even added a few extra types of desserts at our request, and the price did not change. Their standard plates, silverware, chargers, etc are as nice as other caterers’ “upgrades”. Other caterers use ugly cheap hard plastic stuff as their “standard” so they trick you into buying the upgrade. Emily's staff were all professional and helpful on our wedding day. And to top it all off—the food was AMAZING, our cake, so YUMMY, and beautiful. Much better than any of the other caterers we had tried, and everyone was commenting that it was the best wedding food they had ever had.

We had a beautiful CT wedding the day after an early March snowstorm.

Emily's Catering was the best from the beginning. One of our favorite vendors to work with, Emily's worked with us on every detail of the food for our special day. My husband and I had envisioned "action" stations where people would see their food being made just to add something different. Rick was able to give us great ideas of what to offer and make sure there was a wide selection. When we mentioned the underlying baseball theme of our wedding, Rick suggested we add a "Ball Park" station with nachos, soft pretzels, and hot dogs. It was totally unconventional and not to be expected at a wedding - but was a GREAT idea, perfect personalization and was a "home run" with our guests.

During our tasting (which was also BEAUTIFUL and a definite high point), we tasted apple pie that was out of this world. Trying to figure out a way to incorporate it, Rick suggested a "7th Inning Stretch" after desserts had been out and a little later before the party ended. Another amazing idea that was well received by everyone. They also were not offended when I said I didn't want an extravagant wedding cake. I wanted a two-tier simple cake to cut- that was it. Our dessert was an ice cream sundae bar. This was a simple request for them and was not a problem at all.

I can not say enough positive things about the feedback we had about our food. It was top notch and above and beyond what we've tasted elsewhere at weddings in CT.

If you're looking for fabulous food, personalization, flexibility, kind and smiley people, I suggest you make the right choice and work with Emily's Catering. You won't be disappointed.

I cannot say enough good about Emily's and our experience with them! When I first called to schedule a tasting, Rick spent a ton of time discussing my "vision" for the wedding and the direction I wanted to go with everything from our drink selections to our desserts! He worked with us to select the perfect meal choices that stayed within our budget, and did not disappoint the day of! His staff was friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure that my husband and I were taken care of (while we were busy neglecting ourselves and focused on our guests). And most importantly, the food was amazing! The portions were huge and absolutely delicious! Our guests are still raving about what a great meal they had! Our only regret, not sitting and enjoying our meals as much as we should have! Thank you so much!!!!

Choosing Emily’s was definitely the best choice I could have made for our wedding! I am a little meticulous and met with close to 10 caterers in Connecticut before finally finding Emily’s. After we met with Rick we knew our search was done. Rick, Cheryl, and their staff are extremely friendly and easy to work with and were always able to calm my nerves. They truly have a gift in this business and know how to make things run smoothly. Their prices were far more reasonable than any of the other caterers we met with and they went above and beyond all my expectations. When I had an idea, Rick was able to easily turn it into reality. The food, service, and staff were superb. There were about 300 people in attendance for our wedding and I couldn’t have pictured it being any better. The food was better than any 5 star restaurant! We had guests from all across Connecticut as well as some from out of the country and the food was raved about by all. In fact, my husband and I said we wish Emily’s had a restaurant because we were craving the food from our wedding, it was that delicious! They are definitely the best caterers in CT!

Emily's Catering recently did our wedding at the Branford House in Groton, CT. They did a fantastic job, the guests loved the food and the waitstaff was very friendly. Perhaps just as important as the day itself was the high level of service that we received leading up to our big day. Rick took the time to sit and talk with us on multiple occasions to meticulously plan and develop the menu for our wedding. Rick's calm demeanor was immensely appreciated, especially as we got closer to the wedding day and nerves have a tendency to fray.

On the business side, we quickly found out that catering companies can be difficult to work with and were finding that some of the prices were outrageous. Rick was great, when we met with him and told him our budget, he created a menu to meet it rather than some other caterers who came in at nearly twice our budget and insisted we'd be able to "work our way backwards". We really appreciated working with Rick and the whole Emily's team - they were incredibly responsive and completely accommodating. We would absolutely recommend them (and already have to our friends and family).

Right from the beginning, working with Rick and his team was both enjoyable and effortless. The stress that comes with wedding planning, the unknowns, the questions, etc. Rick has a way of making all of these things just go away. He's been doing this for awhile and has perfected what it is to be a top caterer and in my opinion someone who also knows all the ins and outs of wedding planning.

Rick's style is unlike others, he meets in person, he picks up the phone at any time of the day and he goes the extra mile to make things easier on you. Instead of having to wait a few days over email (like so many other vendors), Rick was available and responsive which made the process that much more pleasant.

As for the day of, Rick helped us to construct our entire day, from the menu, to the station set ups, to the timing of the entire event, and it was all completely flawless.

People raved about the food on the day of, and continue to do so over a month after. Everything flowed perfectly, and the food is like nothing I've ever had at a wedding. It is truly like a home cooked meal - nothing tastes mass produced and is cooked to perfection, as if you were the only person in the room.

Rick's entire staff also went above and beyond. On the day of they were engaged, kind, helpful and also knew their stuff. They were ALL willing to do whatever it took to make the day special and to be sure that myself, my husband and my entire family did not have to lift a finger.

I highly recommend Rick and his team at Emily's Catering Group, if you want to be sure to have a flawless wedding with absolutely AMAZING food. I've already passed on the recommendation to close friends and will continue to hire Rick any opportunity that I get (showers, retirement parties, family weddings, etc.)!

I cannot say enough about Emily's Catering Group. As a bride I researched, contacted and met with what felt like every catering company in the CT area. Food was extremely high on our list of priorities for the wedding. Both coming from large Italian families who know good food, we were feeling the pressure to pick an amazing caterer. We were looking to impress our guests with a wide range of unique food choices, not your typical wedding food. Rick from Emily's first impressed me with his quick and honest responses to my initial emails. Then, when I met Rick and Cheryl at the first meeting, it felt too good to be true! Rick was so friendly and passionate about food, which was a big seller for us. He never tried to pressure us into anything. He was honest. That impressed me the most. Out of the many caterers we considered, I was so confident that Emily's was the best choice. My instincts were correct . Rick and his staff are all equally amazing. Throughout the whole process they were extremely responsive and always got back to me the day that I contacted them. That was reassuring when going through the stress of planning a wedding! They were so easy going and accommodating to our vision for the day. We got married at the Brandford House at Avert Point. Our cocktail hour, dancing, and food stations were outside...and yes it rained! I told Rick from the beginning that if it rained I was putting my trust in him to figure it out. That is exactly what they did. Emily's was able to put on a perfect wedding despite the weather conditions. The food was unreal. People are still calling us and saying how amazing the lobster rolls and clam chowder were. Our big Italian families were really impressed with the vodka sauce and risotto. The desserts were said to be the best ever tasted. Even the late night snack at the end of the night is still being talked about. Hands down best caterer. Rick felt like a family member or friend, not a caterer. I wish I could plan another event!

I would HIGHLY recommended Rick and his team; they are the best. People are still talking about how fabulous the food was. The staff were professional and very responsive to all of our requests and needs ( down to a safety pin we needed for the bustle.

Emily's Catering is amazing. I really can't say enough good things about them. Rick and his whole team were extremely professional, accommodating, and just really great at what they do. Our guests are still raving about the food- we actually had people tell it was the best food they ever had! People couldn't believe it was "wedding food." We gave Rick a basic idea of what we were going for, and he threw out tons of ideas that completely matched our vision, both food- and presentation-wise. I can't say enough good things about Emily's Catering. Prior to the wedding, Rick and his team did everything possible to make planning the food easy. They prepared an amazing menu that was within our budget and even took the time to learn a recipe of my grandmother's to include. When we were setting up, they dropped the tablecloths off early so that we could lay them out and put down our centerpieces when we had time before the event. During the reception itself, they did a wonderful job coordinating everything and the food was beyond all of my expectations. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding food they ever had. When my husband and I came back from taking photographs they gave us drinks and a plate of appetizers. When the reception was over they offered to let us take home leftovers and even made sure that my maid of honor grabbed the top tier of our cake. Everything was absolutely perfect and I highly recommend them.

I cannot be happier with Emily's Catering Group for everything they did for me for my wedding. From the moment I emailed them until now, I have received nothing less than fast, professional service (and they made me feel like I was their only focus). I am one of those brides who thought I could do most of my wedding without help. Thankfully, I had Emily's on my side. On the day of my wedding, they arrived on time and gracefully took over my chaos and made such a beautiful setting for my amazing celebration. Even while I am punctually late, they were calm and patient. The food was warm and so flavorful my mouth waters just thinking about it. I cannot recommend Rick and his staff at Emily's Catering enough! Rick met with us almost a year and a half out from our wedding date. He made my husband (then fiance) and I the most amazing meal. On the way home I emailed the other caterers we had appointments booked with and cancelled them.

To our delight, Rick had our sample menu and quote emailed to us within 24 hours of our first meeting. To put things in perspective, at that point I was still waiting on a quote from someone I met with 3 weeks prior. Rick's prompt response only solidified our decision to use Emily's Catering Group.

Throughout the year and a half leading up to our wedding, Rick and Cheryl, one of his employees, corresponded with us, finalizing small details. Our wedding was held at the Webb Barn in Wethersfield, CT and Rick assisted us in creating the layout for the wedding, as he is very familiar with our venue.

And then there is the FOOD! Oh my goodness. You will not find better food from any other vendor. Our menu was gourmet BBQ - including individual crocks of mac and cheese, corn bread, pulled pork, BBQ chicken, and mashed sweet potatoes. I also can confirm Rick's steak and fish offerings are sublime! I sampled those during our first meeting, and they were to die for! Whatever you order from Rick, he will make it amazing. Our friends and family could not stop raving about the food.

Rick also was very accommodating. We wanted pies instead of more traditional desserts, and he came up with a phenomenal assortment. He even created mini pie bites in small ramekins. So delicious!

Rick and Cheryl also contact Gouevia Vineyards in Wallingford, and served their wine at our wedding. My husband proposed at that vineyard, and their wine represents that special day to us. When I asked Cheryl about bringing in their wine, she responded that she would look into it, and got back to me within 24 hours with a yes! It was just amazing!

Tom & I would like to send a quick note of appreciation for everything you’ve done for us. From the moment I first spoke with Cheryl & Rick Kerzner I had a really good feeling about working with Emily’s Catering Group for one of our most important events...our wedding. I remember looking at Tom with a sigh of relief stating “I think we may have found our caterer”. Fortunately, I was correct. Every correspondence was an absolute delight, but as they say, “proof is in the pudding”. During my first phone conversation I explained to Rick how picky I was with not only the quality of food, but the presentation. He listened patiently and then complimented me by saying he loves working with detail oriented people who want perfection because his goal is to create perfection. A couple days later we went for our tasting and were so impressed with his professionalism and DELICIOUS food. Everything was wonderful, but as we were sitting there having a conversation I mentioned liking a certain flavor sauce and within minutes he had his chef whip up the perfect blend...what service! We were having an intimate wedding with 60 people so food was extremely important to us. Our tasting went so well, we decided to hire Emily’s Catering for our rehearsal dinner on Friday night with about 40 guests, our wedding on Saturday and our Sunday brunch with the same number of guests. EVERYONE couldn’t stop raving about the food, the quality, presentation & professionalism of every staff member. We wanted perfection & we got so much more...your service is priceless & we couldn’t be more appreciative. We give Emily’s Catering 5 Stars and are so glad we’ve found our caterers for life, anytime we have an event we want YOU there! I think all our guests feel the same way & we are not easy to please. From the bottom of our hearts, we can not thank you enough for playing such an important role so beautifully for an amazing weekend that will be cherished in our hearts forever.

I spent months trying to find a great caterer and was incredibly lucky to find Emily's Catering. They were responsive and worked with what I wanted! All my guests raved about the food and even the pickiest eaters talked about how great the food was. I could not recommend Emily's Catering strongly enough. Emily's did a WONDERFUL job catering our wedding on October 5, 2012. They were professional and very accommodating, and the food was absolutely fantastic! We were able to customize our menu, as well as our beer selection, which were the two most important things we looked for while searching for a caterer. My husband is a chef, so we knew our food needed to be top-notch. Emily's definitely did NOT disappoint!...our guests are still raving about the food a month later! They also allowed us to bring in a variety of microbrews, which they were able to acquire for us with no trouble! All in all, I can't find a single flaw in the service on the most important day of our lives! We will be recommending Emily's to all of our family and friends for every type of event they are planning!

The event manager went above and beyond my expectations for helping to make our day run smoothly and making sure my husband and I were always comfortable. I cannot tell you how amazing Emily's Catering Group is. From the very start Rick and his team made us feel like we were special. They painstakingly created the perfect menu AS WELL as a unique approach to the dinner service. Guests were completely taken aback by the quality and creativity of the food and service.
