Truly Amazing Experience

From the beginning, working with Emily's to plan the catering for our wedding was a dream. Lauren was so helpful and supportive, from the get go. She checked in regularly throughout the planning process and managed all of the little details that came up along the way with grace and ease. We had a variety of complicated allergies and dietary needs to manage, and Lauren helped put us completely at ease about dietary restrictions, from our initial inquiry through to the wedding day itself. Lauren also managed all of the rentals through another rental company, which alleviated so much stress on our part. The wedding day itself, the catering team set up our cocktail hour and reception space and made them beautiful. And then, the FOOD! We and our guests raved about the food, especially the filet mignon, shrimp, and lamb chops. The entire team was so kind, professional, and helpful, and I am so glad we chose Emily's to cater our wedding.

Emily’s Cafe and Catering -Spectacular!!

I truly cannot say enough amazing things about Emily’s Cafe and Catering!! I want to start by saying it rained on my wedding day and it was in my parent’s backyard so we had no plan b. Emily’s made this day perfect for me. They had their staff wiping water off of ceremony chairs, running around relighting candles. I was so upset, and the staff being so positive and kind really helped my mood.
From start to finish our experience was absolutely incredible. Our event coordinator Lauren was so kind, professional, and made our vision come to life. She met with us in the beginning, even came out to do a site visit at our venue in the snow. One of the best parts was that they worked directly with a tent vendor/rental vendor and I didn’t have to communicate with them at all- which as a bride was such a relief that that was taken off my plate. I updated my rentals so many times and Lauren was always accommodating and very responsive.
The food that the talented chefs prepared was absolutely insane. The menu you can choose from is so extensive; truly there is something for everyone! On the day of my wedding the chefs were SO CLEAN! They left my mother’s kitchen spotless and even packaged up the leftovers for us. People are still telling us how much they loved the food. If you’re considering Emily’s, stop your search and go with them.

Absolutely Delicious! Emily's is Wonderful

I'm so grateful Emily's Cafe & Catering catered our wedding. Emily's food is delicious, classic and we are still hearing from our guests that it was the wedding dinner they've ever had. Emily made our lives so easy in the planning process, she went above and beyond for a year leading up to our wedding and made our day extra special with small creative suggestions she made along the way (cupcakes!). Delicious food and amazing team!

Beth and her team at Emily's Cafe are amazing. They are responsive and easy to work with. We received so many compliments on the dinner and the cake. The team that worked our wedding (I'm blanking on their names, sorry!) were an absolute delight and some of them were even dancing a bit :) Highly recommend booking Emily's Cafe for your wedding.

Amazing from start to finish ! Could not be happier !

Emily and her staff were such a pleasure to work with, all very helpful and so organized. We had 235 guests all outside in Amwell NJ. The set up looked stunning. Emily helped guide us with selections along the way to create my daughters perfect wedding day. Our guest raved about the appetizers as well as dinner selection we choose. We also had her help with bar selection /service. We are so glad to have had a wonderful experience with Emily and would highly recommend her over and over!!!

Food that you will never forget

Perfection!

Emily’s catered our rehearsal dinner and our reception at the Woolverton Inn. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. They were happy to accommodate several special requests, including an ice cream cake for our cutting cake!

Highly recommended!!

Emily and crew were fantastic! They set up all the decorations beautifully and with very little direction needed. The food was absolutely delicious as well! Perfect!!!!

Our daughter (and now son-in-law) were married at Updike Farmstead in Princeton this past weekend. Emily's catered the event flawlessly. Working with Emily and her team leading up to the wedding was easy and helpful. Emily herself could not have been more responsive, flexible and simply delightful. The party itself became an extension of the lead-up. The food was terrific. Her staff was great. Everything went smoothly - not a single hiccup. If we could give 6 stars we would. We cannot recommend Emily's strongly enough for a wedding like this, which served 175 people. GREAT JOB EMILY!!

Best wedding food I've ever had!!!

Our wedding venue works exclusively with Emily's and we couldn't feel more lucky about that!! Working with Beth was so wonderful - she was communicative and creative when helping us think through our event and how can could accommodate an array of dietary restrictions and save a bit of money along the way. And the food was absolutely amazing!!! We got married 2 months ago now, and STILL have people asking us who our caterer was -- our entrees were short ribs, sea bass in beurre blanc, and an eggplant neapolitan, plus a wide assortment of hor dourves and desserts. The flexibility we had when building our menu allowed us to stay on budget and create an event that was true to us! Highly, highly recommend for any event!!

Amazing Communication and Delicious Food!

We hired Emily and her team for our wedding at Crossing Vineyards. Emily was so receptive to discussing every detail of the wedding menu and day. She was incredibly responsive by email and phone when needed. The appetizers were DELICIOUS! My guests were raving. There was plenty of food. Our lead on the day of our wedding was Jennifer - she was wonderful! She made sure everything ran smoothly. I cannot take their team enough!

The BEST there is!!

There aren't enough words to describe how amazing Emily's Cafe and Catering is as a catering team. From the moment we met Emily herself, we were blown away by her kindness and genuine excitement for what she does. We are a vegetarian couple on top of having additional food allergies, and we were in search of a venue that would allow us to use a catering company that could not only provide us with options that we could eat, but with options that were quality and fit our style. Emily not only has an extensive vegan menu in addition to her very large regular menu, but she also was so open and supportive of creating additional new options based off of ideas that we had. We worked with Emily for months on creating a special menu filled with creative options that didn't feel in any way like "typical" wedding food. From the cocktail hour spread, to dinner, to dessert, and a late night snack, our menu was filled with delicious, locally sourced variety. It was a mostly vegetarian menu with several gluten free and vegan options with a crowd made up of almost entirely meat lovers. Not one person noticed, and, in fact, our friends and family have been RAVING about how delicious every item was. So many people have shared with us that they have never had better wedding food before. Not only did Emily and her team provide excellent food, the service was top notch too. They could not be a kinder and more professional group. Emily helped us plan every aspect of our wedding, never tiring of the endless emails and questions that we asked about ranging from the actual catering to the full execution of everything related to the wedding at Mountain Lakes House. She was absolutely incredible throughout the entire planning process, and was a clutch Day of Captain on our actual wedding day. We feel incredibly lucky and grateful to have found Emily and her cafe, and we would recommend Emily's Cafe and Catering for ANY event that you are planning!

Fantastic Catering & Venue

We ended up hiring Emily's to cater our wedding because they are the exclusive catering provider for our venue, the Mountain Lakes House in Princeton, NJ. Incredible Wedding Catering Experience!

Booking our wedding with Emily's at Mountain Lakes House was the first and best decision I made when planning our wedding. The unpredictable nature of COVID made wedding planning so daunting, but Emily was there to help answer questions and design the perfect intimate wedding every step of the way. Emily and her team handled everything from our welcome table, to alcohol and rentals, food, ceremony set-up...you name it, they had it covered. The grounds at the Mountain Lake House are stunning and the staff made sure the whole day went smoothly. I really can't thank Emily enough for helping to make our day so special, and we cannot wait to go to her cafe on our anniversary to have a little taste of our wedding once again.

Emily's Catering is The Best!!!!

We could not have made a better choice than Emily's Cafe and Catering to cater our daughter's wedding. From the first phone consultation to all of the planning thereafter, Emily's handled all of the details with extreme professionalism and care. No detail was too small or overlooked. Beth was a dream to work with and made wedding planning a breeze. Even though the weather was not cooperative that day, we had no worries because we knew everything was in place. Emily's handled everything-the ceremony set up, the table and chair and sound system rentals and the alcohol. The food was beyond delicious and the cake they made was perfection-exactly what my daughter and her fiancé wanted. The waitstaff was amazing and no guest lacked for anything. I cannot say enough good things about Emily's Cafe and Catering-you will be very happy if you choose them for your event. I know we are!!!

Best Caterer Ever

Great food and great service

We worked with Sam from Emily's, who is an exclusive caterer for The Mountain Lakes House in Princeton, NJ. Sam has been great from the beginning! From food-tasting until the last minute of our wedding reception. She worked with the party rental company to make sure we have enough of everything without going over our budget. During the day of the wedding, she came to the house early to make sure the bridal party has tea and coffee. She also brought food to me during the photo shoot, kept everything on time, and help packed up everything. Overall, Emily's team was great and went above and beyond! At some point during the night, one of the server helped queued our dance music! (We had an ipod station with playlists).

Besides the people, the food was amazing! Every guests at the cocktail hour complimented on the Hors d'oeuvre (lamb chop was the best). Main entree for the dinner was fantastic! I made sure I finish my sear scallop before doing anything else.

Thank you Emily for making my wedding more perfect than I imagined!

Exceeded expectations!

An amazing catering manager (Jenn) + food that got endless compliments = a home run. We could not have asked for a better catering manager and company. Jenn is so incredible to work with - she is organized, kind, and ready to accommodate. She is also just an incredible person, and was helping our venue wipe down chairs after a brief rain shower before the ceremony. She is an absolute sweetheart. As if that weren't enough, we got ENDLESS compliments about the food. Weddings are not usually known for their amazing food, and nearly every guest was running up to us saying how incredible the food was. The compliments continued after the wedding, with guests reaching out reiterating how surprising it was to have such good food at a wedding. When we had the tasting, the food was good, don't get me wrong -- but the food they prepared at the actual wedding was out of this world delicious. We could not have asked for a better catering experience.

There are no words to explain how much we loved working with Emily’s for our wedding in September of 2018. We were looking for a menu that would reflect the laid-back and comfortable atmosphere we wanted for our wedding, and we were so excited to see that Emily’s had the most perfect menu for us! Our guests raved about how amazing every single hors d’oeuvre and meal was - we had several passed hors d’oeuvres and three attended stations with pulled pork, mac and cheese, salmon and clams, and assorted flatbreads, just to list a few. Our dessert consisted of a variety of cupcake flavors - all of which were absolutely decadent! Finally, the staff at Emily’s was absolutely exceptional. We worked with both Jenn and Danny, who both went above and beyond to make sure that we were taken care of and that the entire day ran smoothly. Both of them were extremely professional, attentive to details, and thorough. The wait staff and bartenders were highly attentive and made sure to take care of my husband and I like family. Emily’s also helped us to arrange for rentals and an open bar - difficult tasks to navigate without their expertise. I would gladly hire Emily’s to cater every event I plan in the future, and we would highly recommend them to everyone!

Book them, book them, book them, book them. Do it now, you cannot possibly do it fast enough. Having Emily's cater our wedding was hands down the best choice we made during planning. The food is phenomenal- you can find that out when you do a complimentary tasting, probably complimentary because it is basically guaranteed you will book them once you try their food. We had a handful of foodies, people with sensitive diets, and general curmudgeons and they are all still raving about the food.

If the incredible food isn't enough to sell you, book Emily's because of Jennifer. By the time we got to the wedding day, I was almost more excited to see Jennifer than I was to see my future husband. Jennifer coordinated our rentals, our alcohol, the staff, set up of our rentals and decorations. She truly did it all. She answered my late night panicked texts and incessant emails. People not only commented on the quality of the food, but also the quality of the service. The bartenders were incredibly friendly and the servers were all attentive. It doesn't hurt that first thing after the ceremony, Jenn brought us drinks and plate of all of our appetizers. If you want to have a smooth wedding day, an experienced person to help guide you through your entire wedding, and the best wedding food you've ever had, book Emily's.

Words cannot even express how happy we were with Emily's!!! We used them for our wedding last month and they were a huge part in making our day perfect! My husband and I are huge foodies, so it was important to us that we found a caterer that reflected our passion! We were absolutely blown away by everything we tried at our tasting, and everything was just as amazing at the wedding! Every single guest raved about how wonderful everything was! (They're still talking about it a month later!!) And our cake was not only one of the most beautiful wedding cakes I've ever seen, but it seriously may have been the best cake I've ever tasted!! I cannot say enough great things about working with Jennifer! She seriously went above and beyond to make sure our day went smoothly. We had a venue where we had to bring everything in ourselves, and Jenn was SUCH a huge help. She is the sweetest and incredibly professional. We HIGHLY recommend using them!!!

We cannot overstate our satisfaction. We worked with both Beth and Samantha throughout the planning process, and Beth was our event captain at the wedding. Both of them were consummate professionals, kind and highly responsive. The entire staff at the wedding was professional and hardworking. And of course the food was excellent. We served meat and fish at our wedding, but I am a vegetarian, so it was important to me to have quality, inspired vegetarian options too. Emily's delivered -- we got so many compliments from our guests (especially on the steak and pumpkin cake).

Even beyond the food, Emily's provides incredible value. They work directly with an event rental company and do all of the pre-wedding coordination for you. Our venue (Willowwood Arboretum) was challenging -- there is no running water, and you are basically given use of outdoor space and have to figure the rest out. Emily's handled rentals of the tables, chairs, tent, lighting, dance floor, dishes, silverware, glassware, linens, extension cords, etc. and looped us in only as necessary to get our opinion on decorative choices. It was really wonderful to have to deal with only one vendor for so many services. Emily's had never worked our venue before, but you would never have known it. Beth put in all the necessary legwork (she met me for an on site walkthrough a month before the wedding, and coordinated with the venue on permits and other logistics), and things went seamlessly on the day of.

Also, we hired a day of coordinator who turned out to lack problem solving skills, but Beth stepped up and basically did her job too. Beth was on top of every minor thing that went wrong (the gas powering our generator for the bathrooms ran out, we were running low on mixers after the cocktail hour), and took care of things without stressing me or my husband out.

Before you even start reading the next sentence, pick up your phone and schedule the tasting where you will ultimately beg them to cater your wedding (or any other life event). Of all the decisions we made throughout the journey of wedding planning, this was the best of them all. Jenn took the greatest care with every detail from start to finish. And the food was SPECTACULAR. And when I say spectacular, I mean some of the best food we have ever had (and we like to pamper ourselves with nice dinners out quite often). I've heard brides don't often remember the details of the big day, but I most certainly will remember how delicious the passed apps and dinner were that evening. We had a few people comment on the wedding and decor, but almost every single guest commented "that was the best wedding food we have ever had". And that was exactly what we wanted! I honestly can't recommend them enough.

We got married at a private venue & Emily's Cafe was spectacular. The staff were warm, friendly and hardworking. They made sure my wife and I got plenty of food on our wedding day, despite the chaos. They brought out kids meals for the little ones immediately after everyone was seated. In addition to food, they also brought various useful signs and a frame to hand all our escort cards from. And, most importantly, their food was DELICIOUS!! Many guests raved about how delicious everything was. Great value for the money. Highly recommend!

We booked Emily's for our Fall Wedding at Baldpate Mountain. Jennifer was our event coordinator and she stuck by our side from the beginning of our planning process until the end. She was super responsive and flexible. She was also really encouraging as she helped me bring my "rustic/romantic" vision to life. The farm to table food was great and am beyond satisfied with the way the team helped stage and decorate the reception. Jennifer really made planning easier on me by being apart of so many other areas of the process besides just the food. Lastly, Emily's is familiar with many other wedding vendors in the area, such a photographers, DJ's, and florists, so this made a huge difference in how the vendors worked together to make the wedding flow seamlessly. For example: We originally planned to have an outdoor wedding, but it began to rain last minute. Jennifer had a backup plan ready and completely transformed the ceremony and reception layout, while ensuring all guests were still comfortable.. and no one even noticed! I am beyond grateful for my positive experience with Emily's Cafe and Catering. Huge thanks to the entire team!

We used Emilys catering for our wedding in September. From our very first meeting with Jennifer (our point person) we felt comfortable and in great hands. She was very personable, professional, and knowledgeable. She helped us organize not only our food and cake details, but also rentals. Every meeting was organized and in depth. She really got to know us as a couple and what our desires and vision were for the wedding. She was always available via phone or text and quickly responded to any questions we had. The day of she was always there if we had a concern (even if it wasn't related to her job). Jennifer and her staff made our day run smoothly and seamlessly. The food was delicious. Every plate I saw was scraped clean and the amount of compliments we received about the food were countless. Thanks in large part to Jennifer and the staff of Emilys our day turned out perfect. We are now trying to plan events so we can have them cater for us again!

Emily's Café and Catering helped to make our wedding day even better than I could have imagined! Christina from Emily's Catering had been my go to girl for a whole year before our big day. Any questions I had, she always had an answer, and was especially helpful with answering questions not even related to food but having to do with my venue or décor. The food served was not your typical "wedding" menu and had so many different wonderful things to choose from to build the menu. They served "pre-ceremony refreshments", a Warm apple cider, for guests to enjoy before the ceremony and during cocktail hour ( perfect for our fall wedding!)
From the very start of the planning process I never had a shadow of doubt that Emily's Catering was going to provide outstanding food and service, and I was not let down at all. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Café (which also has awesome food!! ) their Catering staff and the amazing food. Everything down to our wedding cake and the cocktails they mixed up were wonderful. We could not have asked for a better day, and all of the staff at Emily's definitely helped to make it the best it could be!

I highly recommend Emily's Catering for any special occasion. We have had the great good fortune to have Emily's help us out twice at our house. First for a small wedding (24) and then more recently in August '16 for our daughter's wedding (175).
From start to finish, Christina, our wedding point person, was professional, efficient and thoughtful. She walked my daughter, her fiance and myself through the whole process -from the tasting menu in the cafe last november, to mid winter reminders to firm up our selections, to early summer when we fine tuned the entire dinner. Then she arrived the day of the wedding smiling and confident and supervised the entire emily's staff until the very end at 10pm. I can't say enough about their professionalism and the care with which they performed their job. the food was unbelievably delicious and they genuinely seemed happy to be a part of the wedding. They endured heat and humidity, and even a thunderstorm, and yet they carried on. The food was hot and beautifully presented. Their cleanup was outstanding. When we finally called it a night and went into the kitchen, there were leftovers neatly packed and the wedding cake ready for us to dive into!
You will be lucky if you are able to engage Emily's Catering for your party.

Booking with Emily's Cafe & Catering is a must! From the beginning of the planning process to the execution the day of, Emily's catering is incredibly helpful, accommodating, and professional. Quality food was of utmost importance to my fiancé and I and our expectations were not only met, but exceeded. In addition, Emily's was truly accommodating in regards to my many food allergies, and took extreme caution and care to make sure I could eat and enjoy the food at the wedding, without sacrificing taste/quality. Throughout the night our guests were raving about the food and the quality of the wait staff/service. All of this could not have been achieved without the diligence of our catering manager/event planner Jennifer, who is incredible! She worked closely as a liaison between us and the chef, rental company, and our venue coordinator to make sure all our needs were met and everything ran smoothly from beginning to end. Absolute perfection! Our wedding was completely customized and we couldn't have been more satisfied and truly impressed with everything the staff at Emily's did. Our 180+ guests have been telling us about how awesome the food was as well as the venue (1850’s River House) and how it truly captured our personalities and was such a great time!

The event planning staff was awesome and integral in making our wedding day our's and keeping us within a budget. They enthusiastically and patiently listened to our various ideas about the food we wanted and feel of the event and came back to us with a sample menu that other than a few minor item changes was completely on point with what we were struggling to structure in our own minds and pretty much ended up being our final menu.

Your experience to make insightful suggestions with the menu, venue usage, event details and day of logistics was invaluable and your professional and fun event staff all took the ball and ran with it all day and all night to carry it all out. Many thanks of course to the chefs for the amazing food they prepared! Really, to all of your staff who had a hand in making this day happen thank you so much for doing what you do so well!

Without Emily's, my wedding would not have been nearly as amazing as it was. Samantha coordinated everything so well that I was able to relax and enjoy being a bride. They were so helpful and the food was out of this world. My guests were unanimous in the opinion that it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. Working with Emily's for our wedding catering was a fantastic experience. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive. We went into the event with rather unconventional ideas--we really wanted a taco bar for dinner. Jenn (our event captain from Emily's) and her staff really pulled it off. The food was fantastic (especially the corn risotto!) and the service was outstanding. Our families are still telling us how much they enjoyed the food and what a great caterer we had. Emily's handled everything, making our big day as simple and carefree as possible. They beautifully arranged our decorations, ensured that everything was occurring in a timely manner, and cleaned up after the wedding perfectly. We contrated with Emily's for our vintage barn wedding at the Rarittan Inn. They provided above and beyond service! They gave tips and floor plans on gave ideas on a workable set up for the barn and tent including prop transitions between the ceremony and reception. They also directly coordinated with our party rental supplier directly, saving my husband and I a lot of the planning stress during an already hectic time.

On wedding day, the staff dressed the tables and and up center pieces. They were even thoughtful enough to bring extra details in case we forgot anything... like a sign and box for our gift table. As far as the food goes, it was great! We still get compliments from our guests regarding the meals. We hightly recommend Emily's.

I cannot say enough good things about Emily's Catering! Jenn was incredibly responsive to every email, even about the smallest detail. The menu was flexible and there were so many amazing options to choose from. They were also very conscious about our budget. The food was amazing and we got so many compliments from our guests.

Jenn went above and beyond typical catering duties. She helped put out all of our center pieces and really played a big part in the day of coordinating. I felt completely comfortable leaving things in her hands.

Emily's was a crucial part to our wedding- not only did they provide the great food, cake, and service, but Sam also coordinated all the rentals and set-up- so much more than I ever expected a caterer would do! Sam herself was so patient, kind, and helpful through the process- she definitely made the planning stages a lot easier. I love Emily's!!!!!! Jennifer was my contact, and she was such a delight!!! Super responsive via email, always accommodating (including to unusual requests, such as wedding pies and ice cream from my favorite local place), and she even brought me a plate full of chocolate-covered strawberries at the reception to make sure I got some. Full discloser: I've worked with Emily's Catering before on a couple other smaller events, so I was fully aware that the food was fabulous. They turned out to be sort of the unofficial caterer of the entire engagement/wedding process, in fact, doing a range of services. My mother booked them for the engagement party (private home, full service buffet staffing including bar service), my MOH booked them for my shower (event space, full buffet staffing but no bar), and we booked them for the wedding (cocktail hour, passed hors, seated meal, two bars). In all cases they rocked it! Delicious, delicious food, great service, and all so so beautifully presented, plus they were able to share fun little signs telling people which way to go, what the signature cocktails were, etc. It was really just lovely. We had an outdoor cocktail hour, and of course that was when the 20 minutes of rain for the entire day had to happen! But they rolled with it - just grabbed everything and scooted into the tent, and worked with my coordinator to rearrange the schedule and it worked out great. And ohmygod the cake. It was so pretty and so good - multiple flavors because we couldn't decide. They had kids meals that were a hit, and - big points here - were super accommodating about the various allergies we had among the guest list. Love them!

Emily's Catering was such a pleasure to work with (especially Jennifer). Jennifer worked with me to come up with a menu that fit my budget and she came up with lots of creative ideas which was very helpful! Not only did Emily's take care of catering, they also helped with setting up the chairs, putting up the decorations, etc. You can tell that they are very experienced in catering for large outdoor weddings as everything went according to plan and looked so beautiful....their presentation is amazing. All I can say is that Emily's will bring your vision to life! Till today, all our guests tell us that the food was fantastic and so yummy!

Jennifer did an awesome job and she is such a pleasure to work with and very detail oriented. If you have any concerns, she will address them and work with you to find solutions. For instance, I did not want the typical metal cake stand for my wedding cake given that I was going for an elegant rustic theme and next thing I know Jennifer presented me with several creative options, one of which was using a wine box as a cake stand. My name and my husband's name was on the box in beautiful calligraphy and the end result was beautiful and unique. Emily's does an awesome awesome job and they certainly exceeded my expectations! You will have no stress working with Emily's. When you go with Emily's you are getting so much more than a caterer!

AMAZING! First off, the people here are so kind and thoughtful and detail-oriented. They will work with any budget you have. Next, the food here is fantastic, and they offer a ton of variety. Next, the presentation was absolutely beautiful, and they handled all of the decorations, arrangement, and preparation. I had zero stress working with this vendor. And finally, the deal was amazing. The cost was reasonable and our guests has a ton of food. Many of my guests had seconds, and we brought home trays of food that lasted for days. My experience with Emily's was absolutely perfect. I can't wait to use them for my next party.

I wish I could give them more stars for professionalism--Jennifer is amazing! She is such a great person to work with for a wedding because she is so kind & so supportive of the couple's choices. From the moment we stepped into Emily's Cafe in Pennington, my husband and I were excited to plan the menu for our wedding day. As soon as I saw their sample menus, I had a feeling Emily's was going to be the one. I still contacted several other caterers, but months later I still hadn't heard back from all of them. I got a response from Samantha within an hour of e-mailing them! And the more I heard, the more I liked them. So we went in for a tasting and were totally blown away. Their food is spectacular!

I worked with Jennifer through the whole planning process. I don't think I could have pulled this wedding off without her! She went with us to the party rental place and helped us pick out everything we needed, and from there she handled everything to do with the rentals. I didn't even have to think about it -- they got it all there and set it all up! Not only that, but she also took care of the liquor purchase for us. We never even had to contact the liquor store ourselves; she took care of everything! She also sat down with us and helped us figure out exactly how the day was going to do, and when we would do what. And she drew up a table arrangement/seating chart for us. Then, when the wedding day came, she coordinated everything! By the time we arrived at the vineyard, there were already cute little signs up and they were hard at work setting up chairs and tables. Jennifer made everything happen.

Everyone was in love with the food, especially the hors d'oeuvres. They also made us a beautiful cutting cake and a whole bunch of cupcakes in 3 different flavors - all incredibly delicious! Everything was a huge hit, all of my guests raved about it! If I ever need another event catered, there's no doubt who I would use. I'm still craving more of those fig marscapone crostini!

Emily's Café & Catering did an amazing job for my daughter's wedding. The food was fabulous, and the bar and dinner service was excellent. We had cocktail hour with appetizers before dinner, and a full sit-down dinner for 100 guests, and we were thrilled. 5-stars!!! Also, they were a dream to work with. I can't recommend Emily's Cafe & Catering strongly enough. After being dissatisfied with a number of area caterers who offered very typical / boring wedding fare, we found Emily's online and were immediately impressed by their menu which featured unique items with fresh local and organic ingredients. When we went to the tasting we were sold, particularly because of their herb encrusted mac & cheese!

In addition to the the high quality of the food, working with Emily's staff was a pleasure and a highlight of my wedding planning experience. The catering managers were so friendly and attentive. They helped us create a menu that perfectly reflected our tastes and style. It felt like every one of our 220 guests complimented the food and all of the delightful decorative details. We are still receiving positive feedback a month later! Thank you Emily's!

Emily's catered our wedding at Sayen House and Gardens June 29, 2013. Jennifer was the catering manager and event planner and did such a wonderful job! As a crafty and creative bride, I expected to be doing all of the planning and decorating myself, with some help from my maid of honor. We were on a VERY tight budget with a small guest list but still wanted our day to look beautiful and be fun for everyone. We chose Emily's initially on a friend's recommendation, but were instantly validated from my first phone conversation with Jennifer. Jennifer didn't just help us choose a menu for our wedding, but helped us plan the entire flow of the day and order of events, coordinated with other vendors, provided transport and set up of decorations, and acted as a director in all aspects of the wedding day, ensuring every detail happened as it should have. There is much more, I'm sure, that she did behind the scenes to provide us with such a wonderful experience, and we are forever grateful to Jennifer, and all of the staff at Emily's for everything they did. As far as the food goes, there isn't much more to say, other than DELICIOUS!!! We chose a buffet style dinner with hand passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour. From the lemonade and iced tea served in the garden before our ceremony to the adorable strawberry and cream dessert cupcakes, everything was prepared perfectly and displayed beautifully from start to finish. The entire menu was made to fit our venue and the season and was raved about by all our guests. Emily's was so much more to us than a caterer. They went above and beyond and exceeded all our expectations. And on top of all that, somehow they have made all this possible for any budget! I will never ever forget our wedding and I confidently say it is because of Emily's and their staff. We love you guys beyond words!

We have worked with Emily's for my daughter's wedding and we liked them so much we worked with them for my in-laws 50th Anniversary. In a sentence - Emily's Cafe & Catering literally made my wedding.

From the first email, our experience with this caterer was professional, accommodating, and enjoyable. We worked mostly with Samantha and she was amazing. We are a frugal couple (perhaps to a fault!), but Samantha was more than happy to work within our budget to make our dream wedding happen. In just one meeting, we went from having literally *no idea* what we were doing for the wedding to walking out with excitement, details, and a very agreeable estimate.

During the wedding, Emily's staff handled a variety of unexpected issues with poise. Everything from estranged parents, sudden rain, tipsy guests, to a bride that constantly calls you "Emily" instead of "Samantha", it was all handled with utmost professionalism. Every single guest complimented the food and decor of the wedding. I am so grateful for their service and I couldn't recommend them enough.

Perfect! The food was totally customized for my husband and I. Guests have been raving about the food from both the coctail hour and the dinner. And amazingly, plates were filled for us and we got to actually enjoy all of the food at our wedding. Also the leftovers were packed up for us and my parents ate for days!
Emily was a wonderful coordinator and willing to help in any way that she could. She understood budget constraints and really did everything to work with us. I really couldn't have asked for a better caterer.

Emily did a great job of catering my wedding. She was responsive, answered all emails quickly and comprehensively, and took my requests seriously while still embedding her own (excellent!) style into her food. All the guests completely loved the food and are still talking about it!

Emily’s was just fantastic from the menu prep to the tasting to the day of. Every detail was thought of and everything was done to make our lives and the even run as smooth as possible. My husband is from the Netherlands, so we wanted to combine American and Dutch cuisine for our wedding. Emily’s took the recipes that we gave them and their chefs recreated the dishes perfectly! (Even better than many Dutch cooks my husband stated!) Their staff was kind, knowledgeable and very helpful (especially Samantha).

They definitely made the day run super smoothly and brought to life all of our ideas. Samantha did a great job working together with us and with the wedding venue (WoodsEdge, Stockton, NJ) together they came up with even better suggestions to bring our ideas to life. It was definitely comforting leading up to our reception, knowing that Samantha and the rest of Emily’s Cafe staff were in charge.

We enjoyed the next day the plenty of leftovers and we heard many compliments from the family and friends who were around that day after and during the weeks thereafter as Emily's made a great impression on all.

We loved working with Emily's Catering for our church hall wedding! They were super flexible in helping us figure out how to use the space, especially when things had to change a bit because of the rain. Christina was super responsive and really helped us to realize the vision of our day. (The food was terrific too!)

We'll admit - we're food snobs. There was no single wedding decision that was more important to us than our choice of caterer. As we visited venues, every last one recommended Emily's. For a good reason.

Samantha (our coordinator at Emily's) worked closely with us in the beginning to put together the menu. We went through several iterations without any pushing for any particulars from Samantha. Emily's can do the full range of options. Formal seated dinner? Sure. Cheesesteak, taco, and pasta stations? Sure. (That's what we did!) We did a tasting about a year before the wedding, so we were able to sample most of the exact menu we chose. All of their food is high-quality and expertly prepared. Bonus - several of their stations require onsite cooking (e.g., grilling the cheesesteaks) so the food is incredibly fresh when served. Made to order! People raved about the quality of the food throughout the night and for many days after.

Included in your choice of Emily's as a caterer are day-of coordination services. We cannot stress how valuable this was. We did a significant amount of set-up the day before, but at a venue like ours, there is a lot to be done day of (working with the rental company, setting up all tables and rental equipment, setting up our homemade floral arrangements, etc., etc.) and Samantha did all of it. Oh, and she helped clean up stuff that was completely our responsibility at the end of the night.

Did I mention that they were also the least expensive caterer we got a quote from? Somehow they provide this incredible food and incredible service for less than most of their area competitors. We actually came in well under budget for food, and there were no changes in the food quote at all once we set the menu.

On responsiveness - there were no real problems with information flow, but they didn't respond to every email. You might need to push them a little on specific communications, but they'll always respond.

We had our 185 guests wedding in our backyard and did not have a wedding planner. Of all the vendors we dealt with while planning this wedding, Emily’s Café and Catering was by far the best! Everyone we worked with was super sweet and extremely helpful. The food was AMAZING! So many of our guests complimented the food and asked who the caterer was. We were even able to keep the leftovers. ( although there were very few leftovers because the guests were going up for seconds and thirds) This catering company goes beyond the food. They helped us schedule our wedding and made sure all our guests, especially our families, were comfortable and always taken care of. They set up most of our rental equipment, served our guests food, and cleaned up during and after the reception; yet, they were never in the way. I highly recommend Emily’s Café and Catering for any event. They are so professional, but also very friendly. It was like having a close friend cater the wedding, without ever feeling guilty or hesitant to making requests! Thank you so much Emily and crew!!!

Samantha of Emily's Cafe and Catering has to be one of the sweetest people in the world. She had an unending amount of patience with us as we hemmed and hawed over our food and alcohol budget and not really having much of an idea of what we wanted the food to be like, and she never, ever did anything to make us even remotely feel bad for it. That's the opposite of this other caterer I called who when I told them we were going to do an afternoon reception with mainly just light hors d'oeuvres was rudely skeptical of the idea. Samantha, on the other hand, had many creative ideas (and delicious samples) like serving ice cream cones in artists' palettes to help guide us to the final product after many revisions. She also had the experience we needed to help us figure out the right quantities for everything and handled all the rentals, even meeting with us on a holiday to do a walkthrough of the venue to figure out the placement of everything.

I think she does all the coordination and planning for Emily's Cafe, and I was always a little worried that she was working too much during wedding season, so it's understandable that sometimes it could be awhile before I heard back from her. She kept meticulous notes on everything though and was always fully prepared for any meetings that we had. She was also really flexible about us adding last minute things to the menu (like a cake...we were going to do just a small store-bought cake before but then decided to just have it be all together to make it easier) and having our family and guests bring some dessert contributions.

On the day of, the staff were all really professional and on top of things. They were thoughtful enough to bring us some food right after the ceremony, which was greatly appreciated as it's true that I didn't really eat anything at all after that. The little bit that I did taste was delicious though, so I'm sad that I didn't grab some more of the baby lamb chops when I could.

The one thing was that afterwards, we had some confusion over the alcohol bill--we thought we were doing just a prosecco cocktail bar and a few different kinds of beer, but some wine was ordered and served as well. People drank it and the additional option was probably appreciated by them, but it was just a bit of surprise for us. It's partly on us that we didn't review the alcohol order before the wedding day as we got too busy with everything else, so let that be a lesson to other couples to check on everything that you're going to get a bill for afterwards.

Guests raved about the food during and after the wedding, even though it was all vegan (which we wanted). Emily’s also provided lemonade and ice tea to guests during the ceremony, which were delicious. They created a signature raspberry lemonade cocktail for us that was delicious. Unfortunately, a lot of guests complained that the line for the bar during cocktail hour was too long. However, I’m not sure if we can “blame” Emily’s for this (since we only ordered one bar).

Emily’s was always on top of things. The responded quickly to calls and emails. We came into their restaurant to taste food several times and they were always very accommodating and sweet. Emily’s went above and beyond what we expected from a caterer. They provided cute signs for the wedding (e.g., “Reception this way”), they set up the all the tables and helped us decorate (e.g., put out the escort cards and tables numbers), and prepared and served the food. The whole staff was so very accommodating.

Our wedding was at the Prallsvilles Mills in Stockton, NJ, which can be a very complex space to work in. Since Emily’s has done so many weddings at the Mills before, they knew their way around. We only have two complaints about the service. First, my husband and I felt that the food took a little too long to come out. However, when we asked some honest guests about it, they didn’t feel the same way. We also felt that dessert came out a little too late. When we approached one of the servers and asked her where the dessert was, she gave us a little attitude. That’s complaint number, but is only a minor complaint because that was our only interaction with this server. Once we told other staff members that we were looking for the dessert, they quickly brought the food out. We HIGHLY recommend Emily’s, especially to anyone having an event at the Mills. The two complaints we had did not have any impact on the wedding. Everything worked out very beautifully and it wouldn’t have happened without Emily’s.

Emily and her staff were a pleasure to work with, and we're grateful they were willing to travel all the way from Pennington to Jersey City. Everything went without a hitch, the waitstaff was terrific, and everyone loved the food.

Emily's Catering at Mountain Lakes House, Princeton

Working with Emily's Catering was a smooth process all throughout the planning season. Day-of execution was excellent, with professional hard working staff. They were flexible with customizing our menu and dessert options, and helped us with last-minute setup of heaters on an unexpectedly cold fall day. The price per plate felt a little high to us, but since they didn't have a minimum guest count it worked well for our small wedding.

Food was the most important thing to me about our wedding and we got so many compliments on our brunch buffet. All of the hors d'eouvres were delicious and everyone was raving about our menu - the arugula salad was the biggest hit! Tommy was so great as our captain and was helpful even with decor. I am so happy I found a great caterer with which to work. Wedding food is usually so boring but ours was delicious. Will definitely recommend and use this vendor in the future!

Excellent Food & Service

Sam, our Event Coordinator with Emily's Cafe, was a godsend on the day of our wedding. She made sure that my husband and I were able to try the hors d'oeuvres while we were busy taking photos, and the customer service was excellent. The food was out-of-this-world good (guests are still talking about it 3 weeks later!); it was definitely a highlight of our wedding. The only part where there's room for improvement is in communication. It felt like we were rushing to get everything together during the last week, and the follow-up could have been better earlier in the process, but Sam was very apologetic and helpful about it. I would definitely recommend their food in a heartbeat.

Emily runs an extremely professional and caring company that do an oustanding job down to every detail. She is so, so very sweet and cared so much about dong a great job for our wedding. She listened to all of our ideas and really worked hard to create our vision with us. The quality of the food was outstanding and I had no concerns, knowing she came so highly recommended. The only complaint I would give is the lack of responsiveness at times, which I believe came from being so busy doing a great job! The cafe is a warm and friendly place and we always felt comfortable at our meetings there.

Emily's was really great to work with at the beginning. Our tasting was perfect and we seemed to have all of the details set. Then, 3 days before the wedding, it seemed like everything fell apart on their end. For some reason they changed our day of coordinator and did a really poor job communicating what we had discussed earlier. The day of the wedding the main course was great but hors d'oeuvres and other courses were cold, mushy and bland and details that were important to us were missed. We spent a lot of time running around apologizing to our guests and making sure that things were going well when we should have been enjoying our reception. Overall they did a lot of things great but at the same time we paid them a lot of money to feel like we were thrown to the side 3 days before our wedding and have things that we cared about a lot ignored.
