Emily Hart Bridal was the most amazing experience! My bridal consultant, Abby, was so fun and every single dress she pulled for me to try I loved! I ended up getting a dress designed by Emily Hart and she was there and talked to me about the dress and it was the coolest experience to have her actually talk to me about the dress. I went to 2 other places that day and this was by far the best experience I could have ever asked for! They have the best selection of dresses compared to everywhere else I went to. They were SO AMAZING! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Best Bridal Shop in KC

I could go on about Emily Hart for days! Working with them was such a great experience. It was always a joy to go to the shop and see all the staff’s smiling faces! I went to Emily for help because I wanted to wear my mom’s wedding dress. She assured me that their seamstress, Diana, was a miracle worker. I was so nervous about transforming my mom’s very 80s dress, but they did an amazingly beautiful job with it. I’m so thankful Diana was able to make my dream dress come to life and that all the Emily Hart girls were so helpful with making suggestions, picking jewelry, etc. Emily Hart was fantastic to work with for my mom’s dress as well. I cannot recommend Emily Hart enough!

Beautiful bridal shop

EmilyHart Bridal was absolutely amazing in helping me find my wedding dress. The staff is so friendly and really work to find dresses you're envisioning for your wedding. I also found my veil and earrings here. My alterations were able to be done at EmilyHart, and the seamstress even added details to my dress to make it absolutely perfect!

Beautiful experience!

EmilyHart bridal was my absolute favorite bridal shop. There were so many beautiful dresses and styles that within the first few minutes of browsing I knew this was going to be the place where I found "the one". I was lucky to have Caitlin as my bridal consultant! She made the process so much fun! She really took what I was saying about my likes and dislikes and found my dream dress. I was able to customize my dress so I could add just the right amount of sparkle that I was looking for. Caitlin was such a tremendous help when deciding how I wanted to customize the dress. Saying "yes to the dress" was so easy at EmilyHart! Thankful to have worked with such an awesome team!

Elegant and timeless!

I searched for weeks to find the perfect wedding dress! After exhausting all my options in Dallas, I decided to try a local designer in Overland Park where I grew up. I am so glad I stumbled across Emily Hart, because I got my dream dress!!! Emily helped me create a custom gown to match exactly what I was going for, and her vision came to life perfectly!!!! Emily Hart Bridal is affordable and does quality work!!!! The customization option is what sold me!

From start to finish, could not imagine a better dress-shopping experience. Loren was wonderful and so helpful in listening to my vision and respecting my budget. Emily Hart is Amazing

I had an amazing experience at Emily Hart! This was the second bridal salon I had visited and was amazed at how quickly the consultants at Emily Hart understood my vision. Communicating with Emily Hart was super easy and they were always quick to respond. I also utilized Emily Hart's alteration services, my dress required few alterations and it fit perfectly the day of my wedding. I cannot say enough about my experience with Emily Hart and would absolutely recommend Emily Hart to any bride who loves a laid back experience that also includes champagne :)

EmilyHart Bridal was the best decision for wedding dress shopping! The salon, in general, is adorable and gorgeous. All the staff there are so happy to work with all brides and don't make you feel rushed or anything! I went to three wedding dress shops on one day and EH was the last one I went to. When we first got there they gave me a bag of clothes pins and told me it was just like Pinterest and to go "pin" things I want to try on. How cute?! Then all the dresses are absolutely gorgeous!
They want to make sure you are happy and getting exactly what you want. I am a very short person and loved a dress that was a drop down waist - which does NOT look good on shorter people! Emily Hart herself came out and talked to us and assured us they could make an exact one for my height and to make it an empire waist dress for my exact height. The dress and veil were absolutely gorgeous and very affordable compared to other places we went!

I would highly suggest them to all brides! Thank you guys for all you did for us!

I went to Emily Hart Bridal to get my dress altered. The staff was so friendly and helpful. By the end, my dress fit perfectly and I felt so comfortable with the work done. They do such a great job with alterations and making you feel your best. I would highly recommend them for anyone looking to get a dress fitted.

Emily, Sara, Sandy and the EH Bridal team are amazing to work with. I went in for my first appointment not knowing what I wanted in a dress. Sara worked patiently with me and listened to my comments while trying on different dresses. She came up with a custom dress that was beyond what I could imagine. When it came in, Sandy worked her alteration magic and my perfect dress was a perfect fit. The team is wonderful to work with. I recommend every bride to visit EmilyHart Bridal when dress shopping.

I had a wonderful experience at Emily Hart. The consultant allowed me, my mom, and MOH to shop as much as we wanted- marking any and as many dresses as we liked. She also pulled some things she thought I'd like. When it came time to try on, she had a great system to help me weed through all the options to narrow down my favorites which was no easy task with so many beautiful dresses. I found the perfect one from the Emmaline line and had Emily herself give me advice on changes I could make to the dress. I ended up changing the color of the lining in the dress. Sandy was the alterations lady I worked with, and she did an awesome job making sure my dress fit just perfectly.

EmilyHart Bridal gave the perfect bridal experience!

A cozy shop boasting personality and personal touches, I can't imagine having gone anywhere else. From the first visit, the EmilyHart Girls made it so fun and so special! It became a highlight to go in for fittings because I knew I would get to see the girls!

I especially appreciate the attention to detail, while shopping with my bridal party, Emily herself was paying attention to our selections and made the perfect suggestion. She slipped in THE dress based on the conversations we were having.... the tears flowed, and champagne popped! :)

If you're looking for a personal experience finding and fitting your perfect dress....EmilyHart Bridal is the place for you. Just don't be surprised if you want to become friends with all of the gals too! :)

I went to Davids bridal and others and absoloutly nothing compared to this place they were so kind and helpful and just gave me the full experience I tried on 20+ dresses at Davids bridal and came here and once I tried on the 3rd dress that's the dress I said yes to best place ever! I cannot tell you how pleased I was with the whole experience EmilyHart Bridal provided me. My dress was everything I could of ever dreamed of. Loren helped me through the whole process. She talked me through the emotions of finding "my dress" and making sure I was completely satisfied. She didn't pressure me at all and was kind and compassionate. She really made the whole experience everything I could of dreamed of. After the dress was picked and accessories were finalized I had a special request that EmilyHart was more than happy to satisfy. I asked for my seamstress to sew a piece of my late grandfather's shirt in the shape of a heart in my dress and she was more than willing. It turned out amazing. I have not one bad word to say about this experience or company. They made it absolutely perfect!!

I can not say enough great things about Emily Hart Bridal!!! Every girl has an idea of what there dream dress would look like, and I was no different than every girl out there. So I got on Pinterest, found the one of a kind dress (key word one of a kind) that I fell in love with...In great Pinterest fashion there was no designer listed so I saved it to a board and ventured out to find my dream dress! I happen to be with my mom, had sometime and stopped in Emily Hart Bridal. Not only were these girls the nicest girls I had ever met, but they were beyond helpful and were able to get me right in to try on dresses! I tried on my fare share of dresses and before I knew it I had fallen in love with 2 dresses.... I had fallen in love with the top of one and the bottom of another...which I for sure thought would be a problem....but I quickly learned the word problem does not exist at Emily Hart. Before I knew it Emily herself was out by my side asking what I liked about each dress and then explained if this was the dress I had always dreamed of, her and her team could make it happen! I was amazed and for sure thought this is to easy....I immediately thought about cost, but to my surprise not only could I have my dream dress but I could have my dream dress for under what I had set aside in my budget!!! I will never forget the first time I saw my dress and how much I was in love....In fact I wish I could wear it again I'm so in love!!! I am SO HAPPY that I drove three hours to find my perfect dress! From the moment I walked in the door I knew I was going to enjoy my time there. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming! After a few disastrous dress shopping appointments, I was a tired, discouraged puddle of nerves. Fortunately, from the moment I stepped through the door at EmilyHart, the sweet ladies on their staff helped my Mom and I both feel at ease. The shop itself is beautiful. The dresses are all gorgeous and there's a wide selection so you can try on pretty much any style you might have in mind. I personally loved the Emily Hart-designed bridal collection, in particular, as they are such lovely and unique designs. The dresses are customizable, so even if they didn't have your exact dress hanging on the racks, they could easily help you alter the dress to make the perfect design for your perfect day. Every person working at EmilyHart is kind, patient, encouraging and so good at talking through any of your questions/concerns/comments about the dress and everything that goes with it, including all of the alterations. My Mom also purchased her mother-of-the-bride dress through EmilyHart; she loved it and looked gorgeous! Do yourself a favor and start at EmilyHart- you won't be disappointed!

Emily Hart Bridal was amazing! I was only in Kansas City for a couple days and on a whim gave them a call. They were kind enough to squeeze me in on a busy Saturday and the service was nothing short of amazing. They make every bride feel so special. While dress shopping in Kansas City, my bridal party and I stumbled across Emily Hart Bridal. I could not have been more happier to see this place! It was stunning inside, and they had a lot to offer. What made Emily Hart Bridal special was that Emily designs the dresses. I have a one of a kind dress that no one else will have! I'm so excited to wear it in August.

This is what buying a wedding dress should be like. I can't say enough about Emily and all of the other girls that work there. The shop is beautiful, classy, and intimate. I suggest you go to some of those big stores that let you throw the dress on the floor and treat you like cattle, and then go to Emily Hart and you'll appreciate how special she is.

I loved my experience at EmilyHart. This was my 3rd shop I visited and was immediately blown away. At the other places the sales associate pulled the dresses for me. I think this created some discrepancies sometimes in what I actually wanted. At EmilyHart they gave me clothespins to place on the dresses (could do as many as I wanted) and they also pulled dresses based on what I was choosing. This gave me dresses I liked, and dresses she thought I might like. I picked the 3rd dress I tried on and bought it that day. When I returned for my dress fitting, the seamstress was awesome. Listened to what I wanted and made sure everything fit appropriately. Only took one fitting and when I came back for second, it was perfect. Could not praise them enough!

I purchased my bridal gown, veil, belt, and bridesmaid dress from Emily Hart. Their prices were very reasonable but the experience they provide was amazing. The shop is small, with only 4 dressing rooms or so. The employees really pay attention to each bride and make them feel special. They were the ones who actually picked my perfect dress!

The staff at Emily Hart were so amazing during the whole process of selecting and altering my dress! I could have never imagined being treated like such a princess in the process for finding my wedding dress for the big day, but Emily Hart was above and beyond my expectations. I went to a few other bridal salons before my appointment at Emily Hart and I knew right away that I was getting my dress there.

I was never rushed, and the entire staff always would compliment me and assure me that I was the bride I wanted to be for the wedding day! The dress fittings were so much fun and even if I was there a little after closing time they always made me feel like it wasn't a big deal and they were completely there for me. No hint that they wanted to get out of there for the day!

On my wedding day I felt absolutely beautiful and it wouldn't have been possible for me to walk down the aisle with complete confidence if I hadn't have chosen Emily Hart Bridal as my bridal dress salon! I wish them nothing but the best in the future and I will always send my closest, nearest and dearest friends and family their way because I know they will make it a magical experience!

I went to try on dresses when Emily Hart Bridal was located in Paola and it was worth the trip because the ladies were so helpful and made me feel comfortable trying on dresses. I had such a hard time deciding and they took the time to help me find the perfect dress. Once I decided they kept me updated on the delivery. Once the dress came in it was perfect and they were so helpful making sure I was happy with it.

I went to the new location with my girlfriend a few weeks ago and the shop is beautiful. My friend also had a great experience.

I first went to Emily Hart in November of 2009, while they were still located in Paola. I was the only bride in the store and had a wonderful experience. Every dress I tried on got closer and closer to perfection, and then I found the one! They were also having a Christmas special for brides who purchased their dress, and I won a free custom veil. My dress was the store sample, because the style had been discontinued, and it was discounted over $300.

The second time I went to Emily Hart was actually the day of the grand opening of their new location in Leawood. Even though there were tons of people there, I was able to meet with Val, who did the alterations on my dress. Their new location is beautiful. You can still look through all their dresses, they have beautiful lighting and lots of mirrors... it's a lovely store.

I did have to ask a couple of times to get them moving on the custom veil--they don't do them in the order that they receive the specifications, but according to your wedding date. I was surprised to find out that it had been nearly a year since I ordered the veil and it hadn't been started, but they did complete it with plenty of time to spare before the wedding and it was beautiful. I just want to make sure other brides are aware--if you're wanting a custom veil far in advance of your wedding date, you might need to specify that when you order.

I think Emily Hart is a beautiful store with great customer service. I have no complaints whatsoever about the dress. The alterations were reasonable (I didn't need much--mostly just a bustle) and everyone complimented me on the dress on my wedding day. It's definitely worth checking out, even if you don't wind up buying there--they do allow you to take as many photos as you want, which is a huge selling point to me!

I found Emily Hart Bridal in November of 2009 when I was searching for a particular Maggie dress for my wedding day. Out of many KC area salons I had called, they were the only ones who still had this sample dress for me to be able to try on. I made an appointment to try it on in January. I live in VA so I had to make the appointment during my next visit. In the meantime, I happened to check out their website to see what other designers they carried & found a designer I had never heard of...Kitty Chen. When I browsed Kitty Chen's website, I found a dress that took my breath away. I called Emily Hart to find out if they had this gown in stock as well for me to able to try on in January. They explained they had just picked this designer up & would only be receiving two gowns from her line, but would check to see if the dress I was interested in was one of the two. As my luck would have it, it was. They made arrangements with the designer for it to be the first dress shipped to them rather than the second & felt confident they should have it in time for my appointment in January. About a week before my appointment, I received a call letting me know that the first dress was being shipped to them. Kudos to Shari for catching the fact that the designer had forgotten to switch the order of the two gowns they would be receiving & was going to be shipping them the wrong dress. She had the problem corrected & my dress literally arrived 20 minutes before my mom & I arrived for our appointment.

Shari was my consultant that day. It was just her, me, my mom, & Emily in the salon. It was truly an experience I will never forget!! They let me go through all of the sample gowns (which they easily have 200 gowns or more!!) selecting any I was interested in trying on in addition to the two gowns I was already there for. I must have tried on at least 10 gowns while I was there. Each one, they let me take pictures in...something most bridal salons will not let you do. I saved the Maggie dress & the Kitty Chen dress for last...ultimately deciding to leave the Kitty Chen for very last. I closed my eyes as Shari was putting me into the gown & asked her to let me know when she was finished clamping me into it (the sample was a size 12...i needed a 2). When I opened my eyes, I was speechless. When I came out to show my mom, she knew it was THE dress. I had only been on the pedestal for about a minute when I started crying & knew this was MY dress. After I picked out my veil & jewelry, Shari took a photo of my mom & I together before we left.

This bridal salon truly goes above & beyond!!! They care about the experience and you individually, not just the sale. The four hours my mom & I spent at the salon during my appointment in January is by far my favorite memory of planning my wedding!! Thank you Shari, Emily, Heidi, & Debbie for making my day so picture perfect!!!

I visited tons of dress shops and I found lots of nice dresses but when I went to Emily Hart Bridal I saw this beautiful dress in the window and asked to try it on. They said sure, and I knew immediately that one was the one! I fell in love with it but I also fell in love with the personal service and attention that I got at the bridal shop. I think even if I hadn't found the "perfect" dress, I would have wanted to find something there because I wanted to give my business to them over anyone else because of how nice they were and how accomodating they were on this very exciting journey of finding "the dress" for me. On my wedding day walking down the aisle, I actually heard people gasp when they saw my dress because it was very unique and different and that is exactly what I wanted! I felt like a complete princess the entire day and I know it was because I had the most amazing dress and the girls at Emily Hart Bridal helped make my day super special!

EmilyHart Bridal was the best experience I had at any shop looking for my wedding dress. Their store is beautiful and they do a wonderful job of showcasing their dresses and not overwhelming you at the same time. Their associates are incredibly helpful and friendly and knew were able to pull dresses that were exactly what I wanted even before I was able to really describe it. They were very professional and detail oriented (especially good when you are ordering to exact specifications) and Emily even opened the store up late when I went to get my dress since I was leaving the next day. Their have a large selection of beautiful samples in several sizes so you don't have to see you dress with the back unzipped which really helped me see the back detail on the gown I ordered. On top of that, their accessories like shoes, veils, and jewelry are stunning and myriad. I would definitely recommend EmilyHart Bridal!

The prices for the dresses were very reasonable and the selection was exceptional. Unlike other shops, we were allowed to go through the racks of dresses and pick out those that we liked, rather than rely on the staff to pick selections. Debbie, who assisted us, as well as the other staff members, were friendly, extremely helpful, patient and professional. We did not feel rushed or pressured. We were allowed to take pictures of the dresses prior to purchase which was helpful. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we had no complaints or regrets about going to this shop.

Going to Sandy's Bridal was one of the best decisions I made during my planning!! They gave me the one on one attention that you don't get at some of the larger bridal stores. They listened to everything I had to say and were very helpful. We got all of our wedding attire through Sandy's (wedding dress, bridesmaids, mothers, and tuxes) It is a one stop shop and well worth the drive!!!

I was referred by a friend to shop there for my wedding gown. They have the most beautiful selection of dresses you can possibly find. The service is outstanding and they really help you find that special dress to compliment you. I would definately recommend anyone to go there. I have heard so many horror stories from other brides about their dress not being altered properly just hours before their wedding, but Sandy was always so professional, calm, and in control that I knew I had nothing to worry about!

She has quite an eye for body shapes and styles too. She helped me choose the perfect dress almost immediately!

When my bridesmaids came to get their dresses, we had so much fun!

I bought everything there - shoes, dresses, flower girl dresses, and some jewelry!

I absolutely love Emily Hart Bridal! I especially love Emily! She is the owner and happened to be my consultant the first time I came in and she was amazing! She gave me so much attention and was so helpful! She even recommended other vendors to me that were awesome! She did a great job at working with me to pick a dress that I loved! My dress was gorgeous and I will LOVE it forever! Oh and the alterations lady there is amazing! I also bought my bridesmaid dresses from them and I loved them except that the company they were through was awful!!! The dresses were 2-3 weeks late! The store had nothing they could do about it and I understood but it was just frustrating. Other things I bought from the store were my veil, tiara, and shoes. We had some misunderstandings on the veil but after talking with Emily she fixed it all for me! The tiara was beautiful but the shoes, well they were beautiful too but absolutely the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn! And I wear high heels all the time and these shoes were only maybe 2 inches high. Considering how much I paid for them and having them dyed to the exact color you would think they would be nice shoes but not so. I even tried breaking them in but they still hurt like crazy the day of because they were so stiff and rough. Other than the shoes though, I loved everything from Emily Hart! I also got my flower girl's dress from there and it was so cute but the color didn't match right due to the dress makers not the store. The consultants are all very helpful and so nice to you!

Loved my dress, the bustle didn’t work though…

I had an awesome experience shopping for my dress and absolutely love the dress itself. All the employees were super sweet and helpful. The seamstress was awesome. The only issue I did have was that we could not get my dress to bustle on the wedding day. At my last fitting the seamstress walked one of my braided maids through how to do it and she even practiced a few times but then on the day off neither she or one of the employees at the venue who has bustled 100s of dresses could get the bustle to work. They ended up having to pin up my train with safety pins and it looked really messy. After the last fitting the seamstress did say she was going to make some minor tweaks to hem, so not sure if something got messed up there or if it was user error but it was a little disappointing to spend the whole night tripping on my hem.

Best dress buying experience

Emily and her team making buying your dress the best experience. I had already been to 3 other shops by the time I came here and honestly, I wish i hadn't wasted my time at the other places. Emily took tiem to listen to what I was looking for and provided me many options as well as suggesting a few dress options I would have never thought of. She really knows how to find a style that is perfect for every body type. I did think the pricing was a little more than other dress shops I went to, HOWEVER, the customer service is so amazing, that i think it was worth paying more for my dress to get the service.

Her alterations lady was also amazing. I was in town for a 4-day weekend to do my alterations (as i no longer live in KC) and she was able to work with my schedule and make sure we could get the dress altered properly while i was in town.

I cant recommend EmilyHart enough!

I bought my bridal dress from Emily Hart's store in Kansas City and absolutely loved it! I was so happy with the way it looked on my wedding day. The dress-buying experience was so fun at Emily Hart. I received a bag of clothespins and was invited to put a pin on any dress I wanted to try on. It was a great way to get to explore the store. The store is also decorated beautifully, with huge mirrors to see the dress from different angles. Shopping at Emily Hart was a wonderful experience!

I originally went to Emily Hart because my sister had gotten her dress there when it was in Paola. The girls are GREAT to work with! Emily heard what I wanted and brought a dress from the back that I fell in love with. Then we ended up getting the bridesmaids dresses and both the mother of the bride and mother of the groom dress there! Everyone is so kind to make things work for you... and helping to sort out some confusion in our orders.

I loved going to Emily Hart Bridal! I visited 3 wedding dress shops and Emily Hart Bridal by far had the best customer service. They were never judgmental, just gave you appropriate feedback and didn't try to force certain styles of dresses on you.I would recommend it to anyone! I got quick responses whenever I called with questions and it was easy to schedule my dress fitting as well. The girls are always so friendly and adorable! The selection here is not huge, however, their stuff is really cute so that makes up for it! Also, the shop is very modern with cute decor and loungy couches and you don't feel like you are in some bridal warehouse.

I love love love my wedding dress. The staff was awesome. I had been to 3 other bridal shops and as soon as I walked in I knew this is the type of wedding dress experience every bride should have. I loved that I got to go through the dresses and pick out ones that I thought I wanted to try on. At all the other stores the ladies that didn't even know me picked out dresses. Then if there was one that was close they would get other similar ones. They helped me to custom design my veil and have a seamstress on site. You do pay for this quality, it isn't David's Bridal price, but it is not a super high end bridal salon either. I know they would help any bride that has a tight budget to.

I got married in my one-of-a-kind EH dress and got roughly a million compliments of it! I loved my experience at Emily Hart! From the first time I walked in, I felt like they really cared to make sure I found my perfect gown. She was even able to modify and personalize one of the dresses so it was EXACTLY the way I had imagined it!! The gown was a little pricey, and alterations cost extra even though it was a custom dress so I assumed "custom measurements" meant through the alterations. Everyone on staff was lovely to work with and I felt amazing every time I tried on my gown in the store. Thank you all at Emily Hart!! :)

I bought my dress at EmilyHart Bridal as well as my accessories and bridesmaid dresses. I couldn't have been happier with them! Dress shopping there was a lot of fun! They made us feel welcome and special by giving us their undivided attention and patience. And once I selected the dress, they let me wear it around the store while I kept shopping since I never wanted to take it off! I ordered several things through Sandy's (ie my dress, bridesmaids dresses, jewelry, veil and alterations). I was very happy with my dress, bridesmaids dresses and veil. However, my jewlery was ordered in the wrong size originally, but they did get it fixed with no charge and my alterations were good. I just wish that I would have been told about the alterations lady first. Her house was dingy, smelling and cats running around all over. I guess they recommend 2 different ones, but no one told me about her personally, in the beginning. The salon was going through new owners during the time of my planning and Emily, the new owner, truly made it so easy and I did not feel as if there was a problem.

I got a Kitty Chen Couture dress from Emily Hart and it was the most beautiful and perfect dress I have ever seen!

The ladies are all so friendly and quick to help with any of your needs. The prices are a little higher than most due to the fact that they sell very high end designer dresses. If you find the one, it's the one and price doesn't matter!

The only negative encounter I had was for the alterations. Their alterations are a bit pricey, but the lady does a wonderful job.

If you are looking for a unique dress that most no one else has, check out Emily Hart.

I ordered my dress from Emily Hart Bridal aprox. 8 months before my wedding. Although my dress was delayed with the makers, they did everything they could to help accomidate other appointments I had that depended on my dress and accessories. They were very helpful and gave me very personal attention. Several times I went in to try on my dress, I was the only one in the store, and was given their undevided attention.

I enjoyed my day trying on dresses at Emily Hart. They let you try on as many dresses as you wanted and I never felt rushed. I did however feel like they didn't really care about you as long as you bought a dress. I was looking at headbands and other items and they were not willing to give any kind of discount even though I bought my dress at full price with them. You would think they would want to be a little more customer friendly so that we would want to recommend them to others. Right now I would say, they are good, but no better than any other bridal store.

I shopped at EmilyHart for my wedding dress, though I ended up finding my dress elsewhere the service and experience was excellent. I was so pleased that I went back to purchase my bridesmaids dresses from their shop! Overall, I loved the bridesmaids dresses and purchased when they went on sale. However, out of the 3 dresses that were sized in the store only 1 of them turned out to be the correct size. The others were about 1 size too large and needed alterations (which is expected). When one of my out-of-state bridesmaids called in for her sizing, she was advised to go up 2 sizes as she would be 6 months pregnant at the wedding. The dress turned out to be 2-3 sizes too large and cost almost as much as the original dress purchase to get altered. EmilyHart was kind to offer their alteration for mailing in the dress with pins in place, but there wasn't enough time to solve this problem with accuracy before the wedding.. let alone via mail. Ultimately, there was no refund/reimbursement because my bridesmaid confirmed her dress size that was recommended by the team. I believe this to be a one-off as many of my friends have purchased from this shop and had great experiences.

I have been slowing writing my review for Emily Hart throughout the months. The dress experience was a huge roller coaster of emotions. I first went to Emily Hart on a whim looking for bridesmaid dresses and while I was there I tried on a few bridal gowns and fell in love with a Maggie gown they had. We did not have an appointment the first time we went in but they were more than willing to let us look and try on. It was a great first experience. After some more dress shopping I decided the Maggie gown was the one I loved and despite being able to get 15% off at another store because of a trunk show I chose to use Emily Hart because of my first time experience. When I ordered the dress I told them I was losing weight but they insisted I order the size I was. I understand brides may say that all day long but I was not those other brides. We paid for the dress up front and then a couple days later we get a call saying we owed more because they forgot to include a size increase, it was then that I asked they take the dress down at least once size and they agreed. At the same time I ordered my dress, my bridesmaid who lived in town also bought and paid in full for her dress. My other two BM decided to order theirs from a store closer to them since they live in different states. Then I get a call 3 months before the wedding that they now have to rush my first BM dress because they were waiting on the other 2 to order. I have never been a bride before and they have no policy stating that they would wait until all were ordered to order the dresses together. I had checked all their paperwork and they have not one policy stating this. I was told that this was more or an unwritten policy. They then wanted to charge me a rush fee for something we had no idea about. The owner was out of town at the time so I had to wait about a week to talk with her. She thought the least I should do is pay half to admit some fault but I had not fault in this mistake at all. After a long conversation Emily Hart finally agreed to pay the rush fee. In the end my dress had to be taken in 8 inches all around, the seamstress wasn’t horrible but she had to take the dress in, then out, and then back in again! Then when my bridesmaid went to get her dress altered the seamstress was very reluctant to listen to her requests. The dress needed to be hemmed up but was not done nearly high enough despite what my bridesmaid said and she did not take the top in enough either. The dress was strapless so she had to basically hold her dress up for pictures and the ceremony, and then attached the straps that came with the dress for the reception. All in all it was a huge bridal let down experience, I would look other places for your dress and you wedding party’s attire as well.

The best experience I had here was for my dress shopping. I had a wonderful time shopping for my dress there. They are so so friendly and made you feel very welcome. We went over the time they normally close and never made a complaint or rushed us.

All the problems were with the bridesmaid dresses. We ordered them from here and they placed the order in May. The dresses didn't come in until September - less than 4 weeks from the wedding and I had 3/5 girls who needed to get alterations - not really the stores fault, but the designers. Apparently though they have had problems with the designer before (Alexia) but have failed to mention this to me when we ordered. Plus they came in the WRONG color (was the designers fault since the order slip said the right color) but still, the fact that they were late as it was didn't make it a good situation for alterations.

They got the designer to ship the right color fabric and their alterationist, Diana Ross - who is amazing, made the dresses the right color in 1.5 weeks. A couple girls still needed alterations done after that and Diana came in the morning before the wedding to do them and said they would be done by 5pm (before they close). Diana calls my MOH at SIX and the owner yelled at my MOH to get down to the store to pick up the dresses in half an hour or she'll leave them outside. We were at our rehearsal in NKC, an hour away. Needless to say, my Bridesmaids are NOT happy and I am obviously not either. After this, I have no intention on promoting that store.

Horrible customer service

Emily Hart Bridal has a great selection of bridal gowns, but that's about it. They are horrible when it comes to customer service. Once they get your money they treat you like crap and try to nickel and dime you to death. I bought my dress from this shop and the dress was custom made by the vendor to my measurements so I had very minimal alterations. It did not need to be hemmed and I did not have a bustle. My dress was just a little loose in the small of my back.
I came in for a fitting and the seamstress raved about how well the dress fit and was excited about how my dress required minimal alterations. To remedy the problem of how it fit around my back she claimed she needed to take in the bodice of the dress on each side about half an inch on each side, if that. I inquired about how much the alterations would cost and she stated that she charged 50 dollars an hour. She then asked if I wanted a bustle and said a bustle would probably be about five hours worth of work and the bodice would be three hours. I told her I didn't want a bustle because I had a reception dress I would be changing in to. She then responded that it would be around 250.00. I said, but that's five hours worth of work when you said the bodice would be three hours. (keep in mind these are minimal alterations) She then said "No it will be about five hours, so 250.00. It could take longer."
After leaving the shop, I just had this nagging thought that I was being taken advantage of. So I called the next day and told them I didn't want the alterations and wanted to pick the dress up. Upon picking the dress up, they charged me 50 dollars! I asked what the charge was for and they stated it was for the pinning when I came in for the fitting. When I looked at the dress, they had taken the pins out.... so what was I paying for????!!
I also noticed that my dress was extremely wrinkled. I asked if they were going to steam the dress before giving it to me. The lady stated no, but they could do a wedding day steam for 125.00! For as much as their customers spend in the store they have the nerve to give a customer a wrinkled wedding dress and want to charge 125.00 for a steam! That should be complimentary.
I ended up taking my dress to another seamstress. She stated that my dress didn't need to be taken in in the bodice because it fit well in that area. All I needed was a hook and eye sewn in the back which solved the problem and my dress fit perfectly. And it only cost 10.00! The seamstress at Emily Hart tried to pad her pockets to the tune of 250.00 when all I needed was a 10.00 hook and eye. Not to mention I had my dress steamed at the cleaners for 50.00.
If I had known what I know now I would have never purchased my dress from Emily Hart. The customer service is awful. I would have picked a shop that treats their customers better, doesn't try to dig in your pockets at every turn by inflating charges, and certainly a shop that would not send me out of the door with a wrinkled dress. This place is absolutely terrible. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I took my dress for alterations and at the beginning they seemed to be nice. I told them that it was not purchased at their store but they still wanted to know where I bought my dress. After the overpriced minor alterations were done and paid for, they asked me if I wanted to steam my dress. I was hoping they will do a good job but, BIG MISTAKE. I went to pick up my dress two days before the wedding and the dress was full of wrinkles. Emily was defensive and said Shari is the best at steaming and that she did a great job. She also told me that all satin dresses look like this and there's nothing they can do. I have seen satin dresses before and no they don't look like this. There were a lot of wrinkles at the seams which could easily be removed if it was steamed properly. I pulled both sides of the seam and asked Shari to steam it on the seam while Emily was watching and the wrinkles went away! The same happened with the edge of the dress where they hemmed it. I called my fiancé and asked him to call another vendor to find out if they can steam it before the wedding since. Emily overheard the conversation and started criticising the other vendor. She said they lose wedding gowns and that sometimes they send the gowns dirty. I was talking to my fiance and not talking to her and never asked her opinion. I also noticed a mark at the edge where it appears as stitching that was removed but not carefully. I was trying to examine the mark when Emily said "that's a flaw in the dress and it came like this" before even seeing the mark! I'm not sure how she knows that. The dress was shipped from Allure and I was the first to open the box. Both the store owner and I examined the dress when we received it and did not find any flaws!

My best friend and soon to be bride bought her dress from Emily Hart. As a bridesmaid I was by her side every step of the way. Though the dress buying experience was fine the alterations process through the shop was a huge disappointment. Not only was the seamstress not personable she was rude and unwilling to work with the bride and help her achieve what she wanted. During the second fitting the seamstress upset the bride to the point of tears. After the awful experience she decided to take the dress elsewhere to get altered. That seamstress was appalled by the work that had been done, to the point that it had to be undone so they could start from scratch. After complaining about the awful work that was performed on the dress they refused to help or discuss the situation further because the dress had already left the store. It has been an terrible ordeal for a bride to go through less than a month away from her wedding.

Emily Hart doesn't stand behind their product.

My daughter's dress came in damaged. Emily Hart refused to replace it. She said they could fix it. We had over 9 fittings trying to fix it. This entailed both my daughter and I having to take off work, etc. When the dress was finished, we had to pay for all those fittings. Totally unacceptable. I would never recommend Emily Hart.
