Absolute perfection

There are not enough adjectives in the dictionary to adequately express how absolutely perfect our daughter's wedding was (NOLA 8/3/19) -- spectacular, amazing, outstanding, flawless. Emily and her team made it easy to come up with plan and execute that plan to perfection. The ESE team handled last minute requests, managed a bridal party of over 30 people, dealt with all the vendors, kept the bride and groom and their families happy --all with smiles on their faces. When Emily says --"don't worry about a thing, that's what we are here for" she means every word. They constantly kept things on track and kept us updated us on the progress. Her recommendations on the band, florist, venue, and make-up were spot on. Everyone exceeded our expectations!! Thanks Emily for the most memorable night of our lives.

Amazing team

Where to even begin... Emily was recommended by our venue and due to us having a destination wedding, I had soooo many concerns and worries. However, during my initial consult with Emily she was so patient and went over all options from full service down to intimate weddings. Due to us already having found our venue& catering, we decided to do the intimate wedding services. OMG, if what we got was “intimate”. I can only imagine what the full service planning is. Emily and Olivia were super responsive and assuring throughout the entire process. Then COVID happened. Olivia was amazing, reassuring and understanding. Never once did I feel like having to postpone and it was mainly due to Olivia’s constant reassurance. She answered all my frantic late night emails and broke down every detail so I could feel comfortable with the budget. For the day off, Michelle was my “person”, she is the BOMB. between her, Olivia and Emily, I worried about nothing. It even rained on our wedding day and they had white umbrellas for all the guest! Literally the best part of my wedding planning process was working with this amazing team. This team is worth every dollar and then some! I see why Emily is the BEST of the BEST and has the best team.

Couldn't have asked for better service

My husband and I were married in New Orleans on 3/6/2020 and we hired Emily Sullivan as our day of coordinator based on all of the great ratings we had previously seen associated with her and her team. Needless to say, all of the great ratings were spot on. She and her team were on every detail!!! They made the day absolutely perfect. My guest actually raved about how seamless the pace of the wedding was and I attribute that solely to Emily and her team. I felt so taken care of in every way. It was even more amazing as we were planning the wedding from out of town. She handled everything better than I could've imagined and I can not say enough how wonderful it was to work with her. If you are trying to find a planner, all I can say is hire her!!! It was money well spent and with all of the stresses weddings can bring, working with her will be the least stressful decision that you make.

Best decision I ever made

Wedding went so smooth and it was so incredible and I give them SO MUCH of the credit. I knew I would want a wedding planner once I started planning since I was new to New Orleans and needed guidance vendors wise. I picked ESE at first because of the fact that they worked so often with the venue I wanted, I knew I couldnt go wrong. But once I met with the team and they saw my vision loud and clear, I couldnt not hire them. Throughout my 16 month planning time, any questions I had about budget, venue, vendors, they answered them. Once they completely took over, I did the month of planning option, I was completely at ease because I knew I could trust they had it all under control. Rehearsal went so smooth, Emily wrangled the bridal party and made sure everyone knew what they were doing at all times for the big day. The day of the wedding, I had an ESE team member, Michelle, who did so great through out the day handling the photographers, my bridal party and myself, even great with the kids, always asking if I needed water or a drink or a break. Every member of the ESE staff were amazing! Everyone keeps telling us how EPIC our wedding was and I give credit to ESE staff.

Hiring Emily was by far the best decision that we made for our wedding. Her experience and knowledge of New Orleans weddings, vendors and locations was invaluable in giving us the destination wedding of our dreams. We continue to think about how perfect our time was and there is absolutely nothing that could have been any better. Emily ensured every detail was covered, while removing all stress from us as we prepared and during the actual day of the wedding. When things got busy, Emily was there to guide us completely everywhere that we needed to be. Her recommendations for vendors were perfect, and she even found us better venues than what we had originally planned. Emily and her team were AMAZING to work with. I am the sister of the bride and love to plan events so I was very involved in the process. Emily was very patient and also realistic when dealing with a budget.
Her team is effective and gets the job done! Bride and Groom are from Florida/Illinois and more than 200 guests traveled to NOLA for the wedding and everything ran smoothly!
Take it from me (a very picky and detail-oriented person)... THIS IS THE TEAM TO HIRE. Thanks again Emily & team for an unforgettable weekend!

Emily is amazing! There is a reason I hired her and its because she is a little bulldog. I am way too laid back and I needed a planner like Emily to get me exactly what I wanted and she did! My husband and I had Emily plan all of our wedding weekend events, the rehearsal dinner, welcome party and wedding/reception. We had so many people tell us they had never been to a wedding like it! The only negatives were the day of, the assistants were not my favorite (I believe she has new ones now so not to worry), and there was a lack of communication between Emily and our photographer about our first look and photo locations.

I had a destination, rainy, holiday wedding that was a DREAM thanks to ESE. In retrospect I was someone who thought I could plan a destination wedding on my own. I had emailed probably 20+ caterers and venues throughout the year before we decided on NYE, and visited a number of venues in New Orleans. Given my experience with event planning, I was convinced I could do it with only a day-of coordinator. I couldn't have been more wrong. I was in the midst of law school finals when I had a minor panic attack and was like "I need to contact a planner for advice" and it was pure chance that I heard back from Emily first. Over the phone, she exuded professionalism, compassion and understanding. She was honest about budgetary concerns and seemed no nonsense. She was also VERY responsive, which was nice for someone like me who is always on their phone or email. While some of my friends wanted planners who would make them dozens of Pinterest boards and act like their best friends, I needed someone who could make hard decisions, negotiate prices and not stress. I also wanted someone who would listen to me, consider my vision, and offer the right amount of pushback. She and her team boasted the right amount of responsiveness and availability, yet come the actual wedding week they were handsoff so I could enjoy the hundreds of friends/family in town too. I couldn't have trusted her more. I know she had dozens of other brides (along with her own children), but she always made me feel important.

What I think best sums up my experience with Emily is that it rained on my wedding and she flawlessly executed everything. She never seemed stressed, and her level of calmness rubbed off on me. And when I say rain, I mean POURING. She made all the necessary changes without stressing me out - even FaceTiming me an hour before the ceremony just to make sure everything was ok! She was such a saint and couldn't have made our NYE celebration more magical! Couldn't recommend her more!

Being that my daughter's wedding was a destination wedding I was very nervous about everything going as planned.
I was very involved with what we wanted since I am a designer by profession. I hired Emily for the day of and I got so much more than I was expecting. It turned out more as the month of with a couple of meetings and bringing items that Emily stored, she was available for the rehearsal as well as the wedding and reception. They were always on point and available. All I can say is I was more than pleased- everything was laid out according to plan. The only hitch was the bakery and I had a miscommunication and the pralines I thought I ordered were not delivered. Emily's team went out at 8:30 that night and purchased some so I would have them there for our guests! I truely cannot say enough about Emily and her staff. They have it together. Our guests had the ultimate New Orleans experience, and Emily helped make that possible. Thank-you!

I can't get over how AMAZING my wedding was. All of my guests said it was the best wedding ever! We planned ours from out of town and definitely needed her help. Also, remember the contacts and expertise she has will save you time and money in the long run.. there's no reason not to book her in my opinion! Her and her team took all of my ideas and made them even better that i could imagine. They are amazing!

Emily and her team were such a pleasure to work with for our wedding. My husband and I are NYC-based, and having Emily's expertise and honesty every step of the way proved essential, as well as affirming. Even though we selected the majority of our vendors ahead of time, Emily answered any questions and alleviated any concerns we had throughout the planning process. Emily even helped manage all of our family politics onsite. Most importantly, Emily was such a positive influence on the day of the wedding - so that my husband and I were able to dance, celebrate and spend time with friends and family.

The bride attends grad school in Hammond, bride and groom live in Baton Rouge and planned New Orleans French Quarter wedding. Parents in Virginia. We knew we needed "local" hands-on assistance and guidance and Emily and team were the perfect solution. They were polished, organized, calm under pressure and took care of the smallest details. Emily and the whole team at GPE went so above and beyond what I expected! She took every single ounce of stress off of me during the planning process and our wedding day went so smoothly. One of her assistants, Melissa, was there with me while getting ready and she was so kind and made me feel completely at ease. Once we arrived at our venue, there was ALWAYS someone right there asking us if we needed anything, it was amazing and my husband and I felt like royalty! The weather was kind of hot that day and I was nervous and one of the GPE team members literally stood there and blotted my sweat with a towel whenever I needed it during pictures haha! That shows that they truly care about you and that your day is as amazing as it can possibly be. Emily is an amazing designer and really took my vision and made it into reality. I couldn't have asked for a more caring and devoted team. Go with GPE, you will be so happy that you did!

Emily and her team at Get Polished are the absolute best! I still can’t get over how perfect our day was thanks to them! My husband and I got married in the French Quarter in May - I spent weeks interviewing wedding planners and as soon as I talked with Emily I knew she was the one :) Being an out of town couple planning a destination wedding in NOLA, we knew a planner was more than necessary - we wanted to plan our wedding ourselves (so did not want a full service planner from start to finish) but knew we needed someone who knew the city to guide us as well as manage the day-of festivities! Emily offers varying packages at reasonable prices that couples can choose from - we chose the month-of package and I honestly say that Get Polished went WAY above and beyond a one month contract. While a lot of planners I talked to said under their one month contract you wouldn’t really touch base until a couple months before the wedding, Emily was available to answer unlimited emails from us asking for advice. She kindly always responded with amazing tips and recommendations in a super timely manner - and her suggestions and connections with other vendors alone saved us so much time and money!! When our reception venue was SOLD and our contract canceled with just 8 months to find a new venue, Emily was there. She helped us find an even more amazing venue that you can’t even find online but that her friend managed. I don't know what we would have done otherwise! As for the day of, Emily and her team did everything possible to make sure every detail was perfect and that most importantly that we and our families could just relax and enjoy the moment, knowing the Get Polished team was there to take care of the rest. I can’t thank them enough and recommend them wholeheartedly.

My husband and I got married in New Orleans a month ago, and we are STILL getting calls and cards from people telling us how amazing the wedding was. That should give you some idea of the dedication, professionalism, aesthetic taste, grace, and all-around awesomeness of Emily and Get Polished. We don't live in New Orleans and so knew we probably needed a planner. But we were initially a little hesitant to hire Emily because we worried she was too expensive for our budget. However, my instincts about Emily were strong- I LOVED all her past events that I looked at on websites, and I also loved talking to her. She was practical, down-to-earth, quick to respond, and clearly very knowledgeable. So we hired her, and she and the Get Polished team did an amazing job in every respect. For the budget conscious, I want to emphasize that I am more than convinced Emily was worth it- she saved us money by finding amazing deals and sticking scrupulously to the budget we named. Aside from the strictly practical, everything else was perfect too. Her sense of decor, look, feel, flow-- all those intangibles that go into an event-- was perfect. Every vendor was spectacular. The flowers were incredible. The cake was incredible. The Second Line Band was incredible. The day of the wedding, no one had to worry about anything. Emily's team made sure everything flowed perfectly smoothly, and yet they were completely unobtrusive too. I also had my hair and makeup done by Get Polished, which was a perfect experience as well. A last note for out-of-towners getting married in New Orleans: it sometimes took a while to finalize things or get responses, generally not from Get Polished per se but from vendors. My husband is a New Yorker and this bothered him....I'm from Houston and I know things just move slower in the south. Don't worry-- everything comes together in the end!!!

Look no further for your wedding planner, you have found her! Emily & her team were absolutely a-maz-ing! I was an out-of-town bride who wanted a NOLA French Quarter Wedding. When Emily asked me what I wanted, I told her I just wanted it to be fabulous...she made it happen. The Get Polished Events Team made me feel like I was their only Bride, seriously, I always got a response the same day no matter how small the request/question was. Believe it or not, I actually picked my venue through FaceTime with the team. Emily assured me that I would love the venue and it fit perfectly with my style. When I finally got a chance to visit the venue, I was floored because it was everything that I wanted.
My wedding was two months ago and all of my guests are still raving about how fabulous it was! The Get Polished Events Team is truly the most professional, creative, and fabulous planning team out there!

Emily was beyond helpful, professional and honest. Emily and Get Polished are AWESOME! I wish I could give them 10 stars, that is how much I LOVE THEM.

When my fiance and I decided to get hitched in Nola, we knew we needed a planner since we're based in Houston. So my mother-in-law, who lives in the area, called around and got a few planner recommendations. I called all of them and knew within seconds that Emily was the best fit. She spent over an hour on the phone with me - before we signed any contract or even talked $$ - just getting to know me, my fiance, what we wanted etc. Doing my due diligence I called several references and all gave me a rave reviews for Emily and her team, so I knew they were the team to go with.

The entire wedding planning process was a breeze. Like, everyone was SHOCKED by how chill and relaxed I was during the whole thing. Emily was very communicative and easy to get a hold of and she's soooo calm - I never felt stressed about anything. Her team was great too - Chelle rocked at the hotel blocks, and the team on the ground for the wedding was super nice and organized. We were so impressed with GPE that we had them plan the whole weekend, including the rehearsal dinner and day-after brunch. Both of these events were amazing too.

Now, the good stuff - MY WEDDING AND RECEPTION WERE GORGEOUS AND SOOO FUN. Like, one of the most amazing weddings I had ever been to. Everyone - and I mean EVERYONE - said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. I wish I could show you photos but I don't think I can... but I'm sure if you reach out to Emily she can share them. We also had a fab photographer, Arte de Vie (LOVE THEM!), so check their blog around mid-April 2015 and you can see some of the pics.

All in all, Emily was one of the best wedding decisions I made - pretty much only topped by deciding to marry Kyle. :) Do yourself a favor, HIRE HER. And feel free to reach out to me - can you message on this site? Not sure - and I'll give you more deets.

Being a wedding planner myself, I knew I had to hire someone for the day of. Emily was so patient with me and my crazy planner antics and was always there when I had a question or needed advice. She went above her call of duty and picked up a table from me from mrs vintage and returned it the next day. In addition there were many other details her and her team took care of. The set up was perfect and not a thing went wrong, that I know of! Thank you for allowing me to be a bride and produce a day that was over the top!

I cannot imagine a better wedding planner in NOLA than Emily. Hiring Get Polished to fully plan my wedding was the best decision! They put insane amounts of effort to plan every detail & the COMFORT they gave me to relax & ENJOY it CANNOT BE DESCRIBED. Here are some of the main reasons they are SO INVALUABLE:
We saved money! Emily BUDGETED PERFECTLY & knew how to spend according to my priorities. She also knows which vendors to go to for the best price & highest quality. SHE HAS INCREDIBLE TASTE, especially with BAND choices! There were 2 things I fought her on a bit & they were the TWO BEST PARTS of my wedding-the band and 2nd line. My opinion was always her priority but Emily spoke up & I gave her freedom to make a lot of decisions for me. She created exactly what I envisioned, only BETTER. Emily is AVAILABLE too much for her own good and is so committed! She delivered her son 2 weeks before my wedding and she did not miss a THING-not an email, conversation, meeting, the rehearsal, NOTHING. She is one of the most committed people you'll ever work with. A perfect example: I forgot to wear my garter & didn't realize it until the reception! When I did, Rachel went to my hotel during my reception to get it for me! This meant so much to me & is a perfect example of what it's like to work with this group. I was a little worried about how my hair and makeup would turn out but the beauty staff was excellent! My makeup was PERFECT without being overdone and the hairstylist was patient with me to create exactly what I wanted. The only issue we had were invitations. They did not get sent out until way too late, several people did not receive one, and some received them with the wrong names on them. This was stressful & impacted RSVPs but was also the only problem that we had. We planned this wedding sight-unseen from far away and it was perfect. Emily took care of everything and put me at complete ease.

WOW I cannot praise Get Polished enough!!! Chelle and Emily made my wedding day magical. They were the answers to my prayers and even the rain didn't destroy the day it went so smoothly!!! Chelle was there practically at our beck and call and friendly and helpful at every turn!! We planned a destination wedding in New Orleans and Emily and her team made sure everything was taken care of for me and my party!! Chelle was onsite and made sure everything was so perfect for me I love her sooooo much!!! The flowers were gorgeous the venue epic the whole entire thing was absolutely easy and the only bad thing was the rain which didn't even seem to bother anybody at all!!! I got so many compliments on the whole event being absolutely gorgeous and that was all entirely Emily and Chelle!!! I seriously could not have done anything close to this on my own... true professionals!!! Their make up team was on time, Friendly, and made everyone look great!!!

Wedding and reception blew my mind. Every expectation succeeded. If you want to work with a kind, caring woman who is professional and is patient than RUN to Emily Sullivan at Get Polished events. I still cannot believe that was MY wedding. I didn't feel rushed yet everything was timed perfectly...the whole day just flowed and the style...OMIGOSH the style...I remembered why I chose her in the first place...very very keen eye for design...absolutely chic. GORGEOUS reception and wedding. She has your back...I am not great at really putting my foot down and just wanted to please everybody but she was able to speak up for me for the things that I really wanted and were important to me...that was KEY for me. Brief version: We couldn't have been happier! More details: Emily Sullivan & her entire team were so easy to work with. We gave them a tough goal, to keep us within a tight budget & still put together an iconic New Orleans wedding. They found an amazingly beautiful old home that up until now has not advertised a lot for weddings, so we would never have found it on our own. They put together a delicious & varied menu & we had plenty of food left over - which was one of our biggest concerns, not to run out of food. The Second Line band was not only classic with great music, but they were nice guys who seemed to enjoy being part of the party. The DJ was perfect, the cake was perfect, the bar was perfect. We have heard from so many people that this was one of the most beautiful weddings they've ever been to - & it's because Emily knows her stuff. The team is young but experienced, & to a person they seemed to have one goal, that our family should be happy. We are! Thank you, Emily & everyone at Get Polished Events!

Emily Sullivan and her company Get Polished Events were fantastic. I had a stress-free, fun filled Wedding day. Emily was there every step of the way to ensure the planning process was smooth and enjoyable. I live in San Francisco, but my wedding took place in New Orleans...creating a unique planning process that required constant communication and trust in her team to make quality recommendations and sound decisions. Emily is an expert in the New Orleans area and advised wedding venues and vendors I was not able to find on my own. She also recommended unique Southern traditions that made the wedding event all the more special. She really knows her stuff!

Emily also has a great vision and listens to what the Bride wants. She was able to execute exactly what I had in my head. I don't know how, but she's just that talented. Hiring Emily and GP was, by far, the best decision we made. I was an involved bride (I had many ideas and desires), and had lots of wishes for our wedding, so I was nervous about "handing it off." Boy was I wrong! It was SO wonderful! Emily and her team made sure that each was perfectly executed, and in several situations, offered a better option that was of better "value." They had wonderful ideas and were incredibly attentive to my needs. Having Emily and her team "on the ground" in NOLA made all of the difference in the world. They sign all of the contracts, negotiate, get you the best rates, make wonderful suggestions, and see that everything flows incredibly smoothly on your big day- I seriously was able to relax and sip champagne with my mom and girlfriends and truly enjoy everything, which is so critical! Who wants to spend all of the money, time, and energy and then not get to enjoy it? It was the little things that I didn't think about that her team handled beautifully. Also, I was very very happy with my hair and make-up, as were all of my bridesmaids, my mom, and my husband's mom. Everyone looked beautiful!

She did such a wonderful job that my brother and his fiance are using GP for their upcoming wedding!

What can we say....Emily and the team at Get Polished were absolutely amazing. Emily made our wedding in New Orleans a phenomenal experience from start to finish. Emily's knowledge of the New Orleans wedding scene is second to none. She was with us every step of the way from picking a venue to the big day. Emily and her team went out of their way to make sure that our wedding was an amazing day.

We wanted to get married in front of an old oak tree with Spanish moss, and Emily immediately took us to the perfect place. She helped us select hotels, caterers, florists, a band as well as the decor for the wedding. She went out of her way to make sure the decor was exactly what we wanted. We had weekly conference calls with Emily as the big day approached to make sure that everything was in place. That was a huge help!

Wedding planning can be stressful at times, and Emily and her team took every bit of stress out of the planning process. They made it extremely enjoyable. We would 110% recommend Get Polished to all brides and grooms looking to get married in the New Orleans area!

From the first moment that I met Emily, I knew that she would be a wonderful person to work with and make my day so special. She has a great personality, is extremely knowledgeable about New Orleans and all the vendors, and makes you feel at ease right away. She made the wedding planning so easy and stress free for myself, and of course my husband.
The wedding day was perfect. The decorations, entertainment (best band ever), and second line were just so amazing. All my husband and I wanted, was to have a wonderful day with our closest friends and families, and we got so much more! I will always be so grateful to Emily and her team.

I absolutely loved Emily and the work she and the Get Polished team did. My wedding was absolutely amazing. She got all the vendors I wanted (even the ones who were already booked the day of my wedding) and kept everything within budget. No family brawls broke out, and wedding emergencies (bands left at the hotel) were remedied in time for the blessing of the rings!

If I had to do over again, I would have done the exact same thing. She was fantastic and I loved every minute of the entire wedding experience and all of her recommendations were fantastic.

A wedding planner is an absolute must.

Emily is so wonderful to work with. A few curve balls were thrown our way the week and day of the wedding (had to move ceremony locations due to rain) and I never stressed about anything. She always had it under control before I could worry. We used her beauty team (Kelle!) the day of for me and my girls and everyone looked so wonderful the entire day and night.

Kelly from Get Polished did my bridal party’s hair for my 9-22-2012 wedding. She was a breath of fresh air. After having to fire my first hairstylist, I was thinking I was just impossible to please. She saved the day. The morning of my wedding I changed how I wanted my hair done on a whim, and Kelly did it perfectly without practice. Not to mention she is fun and sweet and was a pleasure to get ready with. I felt like I had gained a friend after she left! I hired Get Polished Wvents for hair and makeup for me, my 6 bridesmaids, my mom, and my sister (flower girl). It was $1000 for everything (including the trial run for me). The beautician and hair stylist that worked with us were amazing! They were so much fun to talk to, easy going, and flexible (especially since they arrived at my small studio apartment at 6 am to start hair and make up for all of us)! I provided them with pictures of how I wanted my hair and makeup. I looked and felt beautiful. They exceeded my expectations and I can not recommend them more highly!

Emily and the Get Polished crew were fantastic. I hired Emily to do month-of-cordination but I wish I would have hired her from the beginning. She did so much to ensure our wedding was absolutely perfect and stress free. I must have sent her a hundred emails prior to the wedding and she always wrote back very quickly with good advice. She is also very well connected in the New Orleans' wedding scene and found us the MOST amazing band. She also coordinated our second line and did a FANTASTIC job. Emily did our decor with Lisa from Luminous events and it was truly stunning. Her staff did my hair and makeup - I loved it and could not have been more pleased. Most of all, she made the day of the wedding so stress-free. She took care of *everything* and I could not believe how professional and hardworking she was the entire day. So many people complimented me afterward on the "amazing wedding planner," which I think says a lot about her ability to manage our event. She also just really kept me HAPPY. Let me start by saying I am a professional project planner; I am as ANAL as they come. I researched EVERY NOLA Wedding Planner with an online presence. I talked to/interviewed my top 10 choices. I chose Get Polished due to their vast resources, responsiveness and experience. Moreover, GP came highly recommended by our venue, the Windsor Court Hotel.

Many people warned me that your wedding day will be stressful and that you won’t really get to enjoy it because you'll be worrying about everything coming together (particularly b/c this was a destination wedding). For me, this couldn't be further from the truth. Get Polished beauty and planning services allowed me to absolutely revel in the joyfulness of the event. Everyone's hair and makeup was flawless. The planning, coordination and vendor management was absolutely superb. The GP team is delightful group of ladies who are knowledgeable, skilled, proactive and professional. We had the time of our lives and couldn't be happier with thier services!

Side Note: It's really the special touches that really set GP apart. Things like anxious mother maintenance, catering food to the bridal party while dressing, they even returned the groomsmen's tuxedo rentals. They brought our gifts, flowers, cake and EVERY buffet item to our hotel suite after the reception so we didn't miss out on anything. I didn’t have to see or speak to a vendor on our wedding day. They handled everything! The GP storefront (The Bride's Lounge)even allowed me ship very large boxes of my favors/ bridal party gifts/ etc in advance of our arrival.

I had the rare chance to work with Emily every day for someone else's wedding, and I can tell you with absolutely certainty that she delivers amazing quality service, and honest advice every step of the way.

I worked with Emily of Get Polished over the last 6 months throughout the planning of my boss' wedding. I offered to help her find a wedding planner, and we interviewed 6 local wedding planners before we settled on Emily- and I can't tell you how grateful we are that we chose her!! The ladies at Get Polished were awesome! First of all, they came to my hotel suite so I did not feel rushed having to run all over town on my wedding day. We just hung out and relaxed in the room while being made up - lovely!! I got airbrush makeup which is amazing - it makes your skin look flawless but doesn't feel like you have any makeup on at all. I have freckles, and it doesn't cake over them like some liquid makeup - so I looked like myself! We did a hair and makeup trial before the wedding which was a great idea! They did a great job - I would recommend them to anyone!

Emily was a real pro, as sweet as she could be and very helpful. I would say the best money we spent was hiring her to help us out the last few days before the wedding (having a destination wedding can be tough when you don't know about simple things, like where to get your dress pressed!). She was on top of everything and made sure it all went smoothly (at least I think it did! If it didn't she sure didn't let me worry about a thing!). Her assistant, Taylor, came towards the end of the day and she was super sweet and helpful also.

Me, my MOH and my mom all had our hair and makeup done. Everybody looked great! We had airbrush foundation done and it looked very natural. After seeing some of the photos my friends took, I might start wearing false eyelashes every day! :) Danielle did our hair and Lisa did our makeup.

Neither of us were originally from the New Orleans area, but we both currently live here. Having a planner was extremely beneficial to us because we were unfamiliar with what NOLA had to offer. We would not have been able to book the vendors and venues we had if Get Polished Events had not been there to help us out. We ran into some money troubles a couple of months before the wedding so I wasn't able to do a trial run which made me very nervous (I'm picky about my hair and makeup) but on the day of the wedding I was very happy with my hair and makeup.
It took a while to get a final count on how many bridesmaids would be getting their hair and makeup done, but despite how difficult I was probably being with that, they still remained professional and never gave me a hard time about it (and I felt really bad not being able to give them that final count until a couple days before). They even took on an extra person the day off.
The stylist we had the day off (I feel horrible for not remembering thier names...I was so scatterbrained that day) were so fun and joked around with us in the hotel room while taking care of us! I would use them again if given the chance.

She was so amazing, and my makeup turned out flawlessly! Everyone commented on how beautiful I looked on my wedding night. This is how all brides should feel and look.

Get Polished did a wonderful job on my bridal portrait hair and makeup as well as wedding day hair and makeup for me, my bridesmaids, and mother. The only issue was that although we started pretty early in the day, the process took longer than expected and my sister's hair was rushed so not really what she wanted. It was still pretty though. Other than that, everything was great and I would definitely recommend Get Polished. It was also great that they came to our hotel room in downtown New Orleans.

Hair and makeup services were great. It was sometimes difficult to get a timely response to my emails with all of my questions answered. Ultimately, everything was beautiful and the evening went very smoothly... that was all that mattered.

I was an extremely hands-off bride. Emily arranged and dealt with every single detail of my wedding and reception, as well as lodging for out of town guests and wedding party. For each element, she provided us with several vendor options that we could research and choose from. This made the planning process hassle and worry free. Once we made a decision, she handled the rest of the arrangements. She has impeccable taste that I trusted wholeheartedly. Each of her weddings is unique and captures the essence of her clients. Our wedding was a true reflection of us, which we were extremely proud to share with our family and friends. She did an amazing job!!

Get Polished Events/The Bridal Lounge did a fabulously beautiful job with the makeup and hair for my wedding. Everyone in the bridal party, including myself, was complimented all night. Thank you for making my night so special!

Overall, I was pleased with Get Polished. Prices are about average for the area (although I'm still trying to figure out a slight price discrepancy, it might have been my own error and is minor - about $75). My trial with Emily and another young lady went well and I was very pleased with the results, and it was confirmed that they would both be doing our hair and makeup for the wedding. We also took photos on my husband's cell phone. There was no contract, but I had my canceled check, so I wasn't that worried about it.

The bad news is that when it came time to the actual wedding, I was (punctually) met by two young ladies, Kelly and Jamie, who I had never seen before. I had not been alerted to a change in our hair and makeup artists. They had no information on what hair/makeup style I was planning (luckily we had those cell phone photos!), and they also didn't have the information on who was getting which services, even though it was provided to Get Polished via email a few weeks prior. The GOOD news is they did an even better job than my trial and everyone looked absolutely GORGEOUS! The makeup did take a bit longer than expected, so we ended up running about an hour behind schedule (and about 15 minutes of that was my fault, as I sent a bridesmaid to run an errand without realizing that she was next up for makeup).

If you're considering Get Polished, I'd suggest skipping the trial, since there's no guarantee you'll be able to have the same hair/makeup artist or results.

Regret Hiring

Every year as my anniversary nears, I think about back on my wedding and everything that went wrong. I am very disappointed with this company, who did not follow through as they had promised, costing me money and unfortunately, fond wedding memories.

Get polished did such a terrible job trying to plan my wedding that I had to fire them and find another wedding coordinator during the stress of the wedding planning process. Not only did they charge my credit card without authorization, but they failed to do my invitations as promised- I had to go get them done myself rush ordered a week past the date they should have been mailed, because of there failure to do them as promised- they were irritated with phone calls and wanted to do everything by e-mail and they had no contracts with vendors 2 months into the planning process. I am convinced that had I not terminated my contract with them that the wedding planning process would have been miserably stressful and my wedding would have been a disaster.
