Emily was a joy to work with!
Our wedding was February 20, 2021. We had some big wedding decisions made between getting engaged in 2019 and when COVID hit March 2020. Emily was a great decision. Everyone was figuring out how to navigate the pandemic and she was very supportive. My now husband and I were getting married in Dallas in 2021 but had recently relocated to DC for work in January 2020. We purchased the Beloved package which comes with a bridal session and engagement session. Because of COVID, we were unable to do our engagement session in DC when originally planned. Emily offered to push back our engagement session and almost a year after our reception, traveled up to Northern Virginia and took family portraits at Great Falls National Park. We were able to trade the bridal session for extra photographer hours on our wedding day since I was not able to travel during COVID. These options to exchange items within the package was very beneficial. Not being able to do some of these traditional photos as planned was disappointing, but we felt like Emily was kind and patient and wanted us to still experience the full value of our package. She is hilarious and so easy to get along with. Emily truly has a passion for wedding photography and it shows! She captures the wedding day beautifully. She moves quick and precise in order to get all the best shots, she's a wedding photographer ninja. Thank you Emily for being by our side during the wedding process, through COVID and even the 100 year winter storm in Dallas. Alex and I are so grateful! -

I truly do not have enough words for how grateful I am that my fiance, now husband, found Emily to shoot our proposal at the Dallas Arboretum. We spent 2 hours with her taking photos and getting to know her, and she was an absolute joy. When deciding on a wedding photographer, I never even looked into anyone else because of her quality of work and her beaming personality. Emily continued to impress us with my bridals and our wedding day, but she also was such a valuable resource for venue insight, day-of logistics, and any other question a bride could have! I am sad our wedding is over because I am going to miss having Emily around. I cannot recommend her enough, she is the best and she will give you photos and memories to treasure for a lifetime! -

Emily Chappell Photography did both our engagement and wedding photos. My husband and I are THE most awkward when it comes to taking photos and yet somehow Emily managed to not only make it feel effortless but also make the photos look flawless. When I first started wedding planning I was beyond overwhelmed. I had a vision, but no clue where to start. Emily not only recommended some amazing vendors, but also put us in contact with them. She loves what she does and it shines through in her work. -

Working with Emily was a dream! She is incredible, so fun, and takes the most gorgeous photos! She knew how to make my husband and I feel comfortable in front of the camera on our wedding day, especially after working with her for our engagement photos. She made me feel like a princess during my bridals (which I highly recommend taking!) and knows how to ease all of your photography worries! She was one of the first vendors I booked and I’m so glad I did! I was able to rely on her throughout the entire planning process because of her experience and professionalism! Family photos were a breeze with Emily (she has a great organization system for them that is executed flawlessly) and I felt like every single photo on my shot list was taken, so I never had to worry we missed out on something! Getting my gallery back was so excited and I was NOT disappointed by a single photo. I have had more people compliment my photos than I ever expected. You will be in GREAT hands with her as your photographer! I would highly recommend Emily’s services to any bride who wants to have the beautiful photos to relive their best day ever! -

I initially decided to work with Emily because of her style of photography. I found her gallery to be absolutely stunning, and I am so glad I made the decision to work with her! She has such a fun personality, which really made me and Jason feel comfortable and natural in front of the lens. She was able to capture our fun and intimate moments, which showed in our photos. She is also flexible and easy to work with. My original bridal portrait location was rained out, and she found alternative locations, which turned out to be better than the original. For our wedding day, she and her team showed up on time and were very organized and helped the wedding party stay on track. There were some moments when members of the wedding party were distracted and less than cooperative, but Emily kept it professional and handled it with grace. She really makes the effort to capture all the beautiful moments during our wedding day, which shows that she genuinely cares for her clients. Working with Emily and her team is definitely one of the best decisions I could have made for our wedding day. ALL of our photos from engagement session to bridal portraits to wedding day were absolutely amazing. I have received so many comments from friends and family on how beautiful the images turned out and how great Emily and her team were. If you want high quality, professional photography, I highly recommend working with Emily, there is no doubt that she will exceed your expectations. Thank you, Emily! -

Not only is Emily is so talented in skill, but she also makes you feel like family in minutes. She did both our engagements and wedding day and what a dream it was to have her from start to finish. Emily celebrated us so well from our first email reaching out, to receiving our gallery (which is absolutely incredible). Trusting someone to capture the sweetest of days is hard to do, but with Emily it was not even a worry! -

I would recommend Emily to anyone looking for a photographer for their wedding that will put you at ease in front of the camera and be consultative about the approach to your day! She's a bubbly, fun person who will get the job done and do it well! She will also answer your emails in a timely manner so that you're not waiting on pins and needles as the wedding gets closer :)
Emily was amazing from start to finish - she immediately built a rapport with us from the beginning. She started out by requesting a call to get to know us before we booked, which I appreciated as we were able to chat a bit and get to know each other. Then, immediately at our Engagement Session she put us both at ease and made the whole process fun! My now-husband even said it didn't feel like it had taken as long as he thought it would. We had so much fun; we even ended up talking about our favorite podcasts! Emily turned around our engagement session so quickly; I think it was less than a week between when we took the pictures and when we had the full gallery!
Emily was also incredibly organized and on top of things. I had initially not wanted to do a first look, but she was honest with me about the number of family pictures I wanted and the timeline were just not realistic - and I appreciated her letting me know that up front. Our wedding day would not have gone nearly as smoothly without her there - she was so awesome, and the pictures turned out better than I ever thought they could have! We had them within a month of our wedding, and were so, so pleased.
Seriously, Emily will help make your day magical and has the perfect blend of personal and professional to make your experience the best it can be from start to finish! -

Emily is the BEST. Not only are her artistic style and editing unmatched, but she has personality and was so wonderful to my husband and I and our loved ones, making sure that we were comfortable and authentic in our photos. She was able to perfectly capture our joy and excitement in this season and I would recommend her without question. Emily was absolutely amazing to work with! From the moment that we met up with her for our engagement session, we were put at ease by her personality and professionalism. She knows how to create authentic moments and frame beautiful photos that we will treasure for a lifetime.
On our wedding day, she was a calming presence for both of us and went above and beyond the call of duty to help out in any way possible around the venue and with both the bride and groom to make sure our day was perfect. Her second shooter (Jillian) worked with the groom and his party and put up with their shenanigans while keeping the guys laughing as they took their photos. Both Emily and Jillian captured all of the big moments of our ceremony (the groom seeing the bride for the first time, reading our vows, the first kiss, walking back down the aisle, etc.) while getting shots of the crowd and the setting in exceptional fashion. Everyone always talks about smiling for an eternity during pictures after the ceremony, but Emily did a great job working with both our families and the bridal party to stay organized and work through all of the photos efficiently.
Despite the rain (and cold), Emily and her staff kept us smiling when we took our bride and groom photos after the ceremony and captured some really cute (and funny) moments! She also got some really good photos of us with a clear umbrella that we used to combat the light rain and also set us up in the bridal suite when we finished our photos early so we could relax just the two of us for a minute before our reception.
During the reception, Emily and Jillian didn’t just photograph the party - they were part of it! They were dancing, singing, and just having a good time with everyone at the reception. And of course, our photos didn’t suffer as a result. Instead, they caught some hilarious and sweet moments that you don’t get if you aren’t right in the middle of the action.
When we got our photos (previews the day after the wedding and full album less than three weeks after), we were absolutely elated! Excellent photos was a high priority for our wedding, and we couldn’t be happier with the job done by Emily and her staff. We can’t recommend them highly enough. If you want to work with someone who is fun, passionate about her work, and cares about the happiness of the couples she works with, hire Emily! -

Amazing Wedding Photographer!
Emily was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout our wedding process. She photographed our engagements, my bridals, and our wedding day! We absolutely LOVE her and her work! We were drawn to her from the beginning because of her crisp and beautiful style, as well as her organization. She was one of the most organized, prepared, and professional vendor we worked with. Definitely a favorite! She walked my husband and I through every shoot...what to expect, how to prepare, etc. She listened to our desires and went above and beyond to ensure she captured everything exactly the way we wanted. Not only did she provide high-quality and professional work, she is also a wonderful person to spend time with! My husband and I truly enjoyed the time we got to spend with her on our wedding day...she felt more like a guest and a friend than our photographer!! -

There are not enough words to describe how wonderful Emily is. She is professional, fun, extremely talented, and a million more wonderful qualities! She is with you EVERY step of the way. She keeps the mood light and really helps make sessions fun, not awkward! She creates timeless jaw dropping photos. She helps keep your wedding day moving along how its supposed to and has a constant positive attitude. She is always smiling or laughing and can control a wedding party well! She did an amazing job on our engagement pictures, my bridals, and of course on the wedding day itself!! We recommend her x's a MILLION! On top of all this she has a great blog with wonderful tips on day of timelines, engagement session spots, etc. -

From the first day that we met her, she was professional, kind, creative, trustworthy, and extremely easy to communicate with via email, text, or phone. Curtis Sent on 06/02/2018Plain and simple Emily was fantastic and we couldn't have been happier with our experience with her. We truly hit the jackpot, especially considering we had no referral and essentially had to research and find a photographer on our own. We echo all the testimonials written about Emily and can confirm she truly is a pleasure to be around.
From the engagement photo session to the bridal portrait session all the way up to the wedding Emily illustrated she has a natural eye and knows how to get the best shots at any location, all we had to do is follow her lead. However if we had the occasional suggestion for something we wanted she could work those things in with ease. For the engagement session we knew we had to work fairly quickly because we wanted to do 2 locations (not to mention a wardrobe change!) but she was very accommodating and we couldn't be happier with the results.
The thing that stood out to us the most is Emily truly appreciates the significance of the occasion and will do everything she can to ensure the memories are meaningfully captured.
We would never hesitate to recommend Emily to anyone, but I suppose you could pick up on that from our comments above. We've lost count on the number of people that have commented on how beautiful the photos we have are. She's a very genuine person, incredibly responsive and extremely comfortable to be around. The words that she writes for her couples in her blog are an added bonus to the beautiful photos she captures. We can't really tell you if that's common among photographers but it's a very special touch and one thing that we think sets her apart. Combining all these things with the fact she was there for the most important part of our lives has made her a special friend to us. I don't think you could ask for anything more. -
