My wedding would not have been what it was without Nilsa and the Emerald Events Team. The moment I began working with them, they understood my vision (or lack thereof before their guidance) and treated me like family. They took a simple color scheme I wanted and general feedback about my likes/dislikes and turned it into something I couldn’t even have dreamed of!
Once they began to understand my style, their picture-perfect recommendations for vendors and details kept coming- for things and experiences I never even considered.
On top of the consistent professionalism I received from Nilsa and Kalisha leading up to the wedding, their day-of staff blew me away as well. I had ladies at every corner throughout the day practically reading my mind to keep me calm, comfortable, and simply allowing me to fully enjoy every part of my special day.
Nilsa was available any and every time I needed her- even for things that may not have specially fallen under “wedding planning”. She became a friend I could turn to for advice, a quick venting session, or a laugh. I catch myself wanting to text her about random things here and there even months after my wedding!
I will recommend her to EVERYONE, and who knows, if I get married again she will be the first person I call 😊

The first and best decision we made after getting engaged was hiring Emerald Events by Nilsa as our wedding planning team! As a couple who lives out of state, planning a wedding from afar is no easy feat but we were confident that Nilsa and her team were up to the task of working with our schedules to make our wedding day dreams come true. And they delivered! Shortly after we signed our agreement, Nilsa provided a detailed list of reputable wedding venues and vendors that fit our preferences and style. From there, she worked with us and our vendors to design an elegant wedding experience. On the few occasions we did visit the Richmond VA area, Nilsa was extremely accommodating by planning and participating in our in person vendor meetings. When Nilsa passed the ball to Shannon who would be our lead coordinator, we knew we were in great hands! She has a gentle spirit that will put any bride and groom at ease but she does not play when it comes to attention to detail and keeping your vendors in check.
When 2020 rolled around and our plans were near finalized, we made the tough decision to postpone our wedding not once, but twice. We were saddened that we would have to delay our dream
wedding. Nilsa and Shannon were there to comfort us and ensured us that everything would work out. Best of all, for both postponements, they reached out to all of our vendors to find a new date and get contracts updated. This was a huge weight lifted off of our shoulders. They truly went above and beyond what we could have ever imagined.
Fast forward to the day of the wedding, the team(Shannon, Yaya,Kalisha, and Nilsa) all made sure that everyone was where they needed to be to ensure we stayed on schedule. They even coordinated Ubers to get us to and from the Capital building for our first look. The ceremony and reception spaces were set up beautifully and WOW’d our wedding guests. When the day was over, we didn’t have to worry about lifting a single finger and could just enjoy our time as husband and wife.
It truly was the wedding of our dreams and it would not have been possible without Emerald Events!

OMG, hire Emerald Events today for your wedding planning/coordination needs! From start to finish, Nilsa was a pleasure to work with! For our wedding, I did all of the planning, so our biggest ask from Nilsa and her team was full day on coordination/rehearsal prep for our wedding day & did she deliver! Nilsa is so on top of things, I felt as though I truly had someone on my side that wanted me to have the best day ever. On my day, she was able to keep me calm and collected (which is hard) even during small hiccups! I honestly don't know how my day would've turned out without Nilsa and her awesome team on site. She kept us on schedule, at ease and made way for a beautifully awesome day/night. Her team coordinated every detail of my wedding day and I honestly forgot we were on a timeline! If you are looking for any wedding planning and/or coordination needs for your wedding day, look no further! I felt as though I was in the best hands and her ability to make her brides feel like her ONLY bride during a busy wedding season is literally so special! Yay for Emerald Events by Nilsa!! -

Nilsa was so professional and easy to work with. On the wedding day she did even more than I thought to make everything go perfectly. I didn't have to think or worry about anything because we had planned it all together ahead of time. On top of that all my family commented about how nice she and Shannon were. She is very responsive to call and email which as anyone who has planned a wedding before knows is extremely important. I would highly recommend Nilsa to anyone looking for a planner or a day of coordinator. -

Nilsa and Shannon were everything and more I was hoping for! If there were any problems on the wedding day I didn't know about them, which is exactly what I wanted in a day of coordinator! They had great ideas and recommended awesome vendors. Everything was perfect and well beyond what I thought was possible on our budget. Thank you Nilsa and Shannon!! -

Nilsa was the first wedding planner I contacted and I knew after our first phone conversation that she would be the person I can trust to take care of my wedding day. Nilsa has such a great heart and she's a professional! Nilsa and Shannon made sure that my day ran very smoothly, I did not have a clue of what went wrong that day and that is exactly what I needed. Leading up to the event Shannon and Nilsa were very informative, if I had a question they would get back to me quickly, they provided great information on vendors, and overall had such a pleasant attitude. Although Nilsa had a Wedding earlier in the day she still stopped by to show support that evening and we greatly appreciated that. If you are looking for a wedding planner I highly recommend you hire Emerald Events
