Emerald City Sound was the perfect choice for our wedding. Matt had great communication - he was professional and easy to work with. He brought his own sound and lighting equipment which was perfect for the entire evening. We felt completely taken care of throughout the whole process.
We also appreciated how Matt really took our preferences into account. Our intent with the reception was to dance nonstop and Matt made that happen - we're still getting compliments about how fun the playlist was and how no one left the dance floor. We could not recommend Emerald City Sound more. -

We used Matt as the DJ at our wedding. He was fantastic! He was professional, organized, and easy to work with. Every cue was hit and the sound quality was great. EVERYONE got on the dance floor because of how well he DJed the dance potion of the night. He took our input but also added some crowd requests that had everyone singing and dancing for hours. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing a DJ! -

Matt is a fantastic DJ and emcee. He was very communicative, and sent us a google doc early on for us to make song requests. He honored our song requests and did not play anything that we did not want him to.
His equipment is top notch, and the level of the music was always appropriate. He also was super helpful when our reception was interrupted with a guest medical emergency. He helped make announcements, and get the party back going again.
He had our guests partying up to the last minute of our reception. -

It was great working with Matt for our wedding and we would highly recommend him for any wedding or event. Communication was excellent and he had the perfect playlist for each part of our wedding. He was happy to accommodate our indoor/outdoor venue and seamlessly rolled with accidental changes in the ceremony so that guests didn't notice that things hadn't gone exactly to plan! Matt came out to Thornewood Castle to DJ for us and he was awesome! The guests loved the songs he played and we all had so much fun dancing. I was only ever in contact with him by email and phone (since I live in Vegas) and he was prompt and quick with responses :) It was definitely a breeze working with him and it was great to finally meet him in person on our wedding day. Don’t hesitate! Definitely give him the chance to DJ for your wedding too!Emerald City Sound's reply:

I would 100% recommend Matt at Emerald City Sound to anybody looking for an amazing wedding DJ!
Matt at Emerald City Sound was the BEST DJ and I would recommend him to anybody.
Going into wedding planning, my fiance and I were trying to find ways to save money. We went back and forth on whether or not we wanted to hire a DJ, and looking back, I couldn't imagine our wedding day without Matt. He was a huge part of what made our day run so smoothly, by giving annoucements after the ceremony, helping our guests know what was coming next, providing mics for our officiant and toasts, releasing tables to dinner, and providing the most fun on the dance floor.
We were able to pick all the songs we wanted for all the different parts of the day, including dinner, cocktail hour, and the pre-ceremony. We let Matt take the lead in picking out songs for the dance floor, and he picked out the best songs to dance to and kept the energy so fun.
After our amazing experience, I would 100% recommend Matt to anybody.

Matt was so great to work with! He was flexible with our "package" we purchased, set-up at our venue and was super easy to communicate with. He allowed us the option to input our song list requests a few weeks in advance for all parts of the day (ceremony, pre-ceremony, dancing etc) and had great suggestions for us as well, or we could have him choose the songs. We got great reviews from our guests after the wedding that he did a phenomenal job with our dancing music!! Would definitely recommend him to others! -

We loved working with Matt at Emerald City Sound. I first heard his work at my sister's wedding and then hired him for my own. He has an awesome selection of music that people really like-- a good mix of great dancey beats and those nostalgic wedding classics. He was very accommodating with our requests including setting up an indoor/outdoor dance space, adding songs the day of, and he was truly a delight to work with. We loved working with Matt and would absolutely recommend him to anyone and everyone. We interviewed about 4 other DJs, and we appreciated how Matt was accommodating, friendly, on time, professional, and had great instincts on what songs to play when. I did a lot of research when looking for a DJ for my wedding. Matt (Emerald City Music) showed up multiple times as a top ten DJ in the seattle area and I know why! From the beginning Matt was awesome! He was professional and prompt when I had questions. His set up at the venue looked professional and his MC skills were great! He had everyone from all age groups out on the dance floor! I highly recommend Matt for your wedding! -

We are so glad we chose Matt for as our wedding DJ. I had contacted a dozen DJs in the area and Matt stood out to us the most. He is very friendly and professional, and he made the whole process very easy from our first meeting, to updating playlists, and wedding day correspondence. His package pricing is a great value for his high quality services, and we would absolutely recommend him! He played all the songs we wanted to hear and filled in the rest! He was great at reading the room for our high energy crowd! Everyone had a blast! Matt was a great emcee as well, he was on top of all the announcements and timeline for our day, and everything between the various vendors ran so smoothly! Thank you so much Matt!!! -

Matt did an UNBELIEVABLE job for us on our day! We gave him a very short list of songs that were "must plays" and pretty much left the rest up to him. He did such a great job reading the room and playing a lot of crowd pleasers, as well as changing the vibe upon request. I would absolutely hire Matt again and will definitely recommend him to any/all of our friends that are tying the knot. 10/10 would recommend! -

Emerald City Sound MADE our Wedding into a Party!
Emerald City Sound truly set the tone of the evening. They made our wedding transform from a reception to a party. Everyone was dancing, and I mean EVERYONE. We worked with Matt and he was extremely easy to work with and made the process seamless. He took our preferences and ran with them. As an added bonus he gave us the playlist he curated afterwards so it feels like the gift that keeps on giving. We 100% would recommend them to anyone.

Where to start?? We actually found Matt (Emerald City Sound) on wedding wire and we are so lucky!! He was so amazing to work with!! Music was definitely an area I was a little stressed in (bride issues), but Matt quickly put me at ease. He was always quick to communicate and asked questions that I hadn’t even thought of. He sent us an excel sheet to get our specific ceremony songs in and list any other input that made our night unique to us. I especially thought it was genius to have a “do not play list”! So funny, and we did put some songs on that list. We met up prior to the wedding just to sit down briefly and make sure we were all on the same page. We got to hear how he made our bride/groom first dance flow so well (and the demo gave us a chance to practice a little dance we put together!) During our ceremony, we had two singers come up for one song and Matt did a great job at having everything set up for them and being super flexible with that. There are so many great things I could say but my two biggest take aways...1) the music was wonderful and flowed so smoothly [the ceremony songs and the dance music]. We had many people commenting to us on how much they enjoyed the music, 2) Matt was an absolute joy to work with and the experience was so fun!! I would definitely recommend him to anyone else and I’m so grateful for all he did to make our night so awesome!! -

Everything was executed perfectly, from the ceremony music, to the cocktail hour, to the dancing, the music was exactly how I had envisioned it would be. We just told Matt the type of music we liked and he took it from there. He provided the officiant with a lapel mic, took care of a wireless mic for speeches, made announcements (like when we entered the reception and cut the cake), and even took a couple of karaoke requests! Before our wedding I was a little nervous we wouldn't really be a dancing crowd, but I was so happy with how many people we got up in the dance floor -- even my 80 year old grandma was up for most of the night too!! All in all, Matt made everything so streamline and easy that all we had to do was enjoy our day. Thank you again, Matt! -

From walking us through the process and answering my questions as they came up he made me feel at ease throughout the planning process. He made the extra effort to be present at our rehearsal which made all of my pre wedding jitters settle. The entire day of our wedding he was not only professional and fun to work with but the music was a perfect combination of both my husband and i's suggestions and perfectly matched songs to fit the mood. We received several compliments from our guests about how unique our music was and how well it flowed throughout the night. Matt adapted to our changing timeline throughout the night and did a great job with announcements and helping with transitions. I would highly recommend Matt to anyone looking for an amazing DJ to make your wedding memorable and mostly importantly feel like YOU. Thanks for make the soundtrack to our special day so perfect.

We did have a little more experience with him because he DJ’d my older sisters wedding a year before ours. He was so great to work with, it was slightly long distance and he worked with us over email for the majority of it. His spread sheets made everything so easy, and his communication was fast and effective. We only met with him once before the wedding over in Seattle. His ideas were helpful and you could tell he had a great passion for what he was doing. He made us feel comfortable immediately, my husband and I are extremely happy with our decision to go with Emerald City Sound, our wedding was absolutely what we wanted, and huge part of it was the ambiance that Matt created for us! It was perfect. His timing with our must play songs was also impeccable.

Bree Sent on 08/10/2016I know so many people say "oh, I had the best DJ ever"... but I don't think I can express enough that Matt is the best DJ ever. He worked with me while I was out of state prior to my wedding, and even made time to meet with me when I flew into Seattle a month prior to the wedding so we could meet and go over some questions. Through the whole process, he was communicative, available, and flexible with what I wanted for my big day. Day of... he was perfect. He talked to me the whole time about what I wanted, if I wanted anything to be changed, if I wanted things adjusted due to getting off schedule (because weddings will never flow perfectly). Once people were on the dance floor, he was brilliant at picking songs that fit with the group and the mood while in the midst of playing songs I specifically asked for. Out of all of the vendors we used... Matt was the best and I would book him a million times over.
