Casey Sent on 05/04/2026The Best Decision of the Wedding (and we made a lot of good decisions!)
One of the things I cared most about for my wedding were the pictures and video as I knew they would be really the only tangible thing we could take from the day and use to remember forever. With that in mind, I wanted our photos and videos to be timeless and natural in style and edited so we could focus on the memories when looking back. I looked through a lot of different Instagrams and websites to narrow down the list of options and was immediately drawn to the Gibbys. Emily’s photos had the timelessness that I was wanting while still capturing the feel of the day and Justin’s videos captured all of the important moments in such a way that you felt like you were still there. My mom and I scheduled a call with them and they both were so friendly and down to earth that we knew they would be the perfect choice for both photo and video. We were planning our Virginia Beach wedding from northern Virginia, and chose to have our engagement pictures taken where we lived in Old Town Alexandria to capture a bit of our life here. Emily and Justin were more than willing to make the trip up for the evening and spent a couple hours with us wandering around Old Town capturing photos and video that we will cherish for years to come. We also were able to meet and chat with them both in person for the first time, and were reassured that we made the right decision as they made the whole process seem so effortless and easy (especially for someone who does not like being the center of attention!).
Emily attended our final walkthrough to get a feel for the day and worked with our planner to determine the best timeline for pictures throughout the day. We chose to have Emily also photograph the bridal luncheon the day before and she fit right in with everyone and felt less photographer and more like a friend capturing the day. Emily and Justin both came to capture our welcome party and again fit seamlessly into the crowd capturing all the fun and speeches of the night. On the wedding day, the entire Gibby team did an amazing job capturing the day from pictures at the Cavalier, then transitioning over to the church for more pictures/the ceremony, and back to the Cavalier for the cocktail hour and reception. Everyone that interacted with the Gibbys commented on how wonderful they were and how easy the documentation (photo and video) process felt. Emily sent us a whole preview suite of pictures to have just a couple days after the wedding, which was such a pleasantly unexpected surprise! We got our whole suite of over 2,000 photographs less than a month after the wedding and they are amazing. We love them all so much and have received countless comments from people on how beautiful the photos are and how well they capture the love and fun of the weekend. I love them all so much I haven’t been able to narrow them down to post on social media yet (I know I need to, but she really did such a great job that it feels impossible to narrow them down)! Justin got us back all of our video content within a few months and again, amazing. The footage is beautiful and to quote one of my bridesmaids “Did they work for TLC in a previous life? Serious documentary skills.”. I can’t say enough good things about the Gibby team. They were probably the best decision we made about our entire wedding, and we will cherish their photos and videos from them for the rest of our lives. -

My (now) husband and I hired Emily as the photographer for our wedding at the Cavalier Hotel in March 2024, which was nothing short of the BEST decision we made during the wedding planning process. From our initial meeting which felt like catching up with old friends to attending our wedding walk-through, Emily was incredibly communicative and open to our ideas. We appreciate how she regularly answered all of our questions and was thorough with her photography questionnaire. I had the privilege of doing a bridal portrait session with her two weeks before our wedding, and during that session I knew we had made the right choice. Emily made me feel at ease in front of the camera and had the photos back to me within 48 hours! On our wedding day, Emily and her team arrived ahead of schedule and were able to get photos of every single moment. Our families were impressed with how efficiently she was able to get through family pictures so that we could have a chance to enjoy our own cocktail hour. We were especially impressed that she had our sneak peeks back to us within 48 hours, and our whole collection was available in just a little over a week. I am so happy the Cavalier recommended her to us - she was simply fantastic! -

Emily and Justin (Gibby Visuals) were an absolute dream to work with throughout the wedding process. They work together seamlessly, and we love our engagement and wedding media. On the day we chose for our engagement pictures, it was so windy, but they both took it in stride, and we have amazing memories, photos and a video from the engagement session. Words can't describe how much we love our wedding photos and video. They captured everything about the day - we never imagined our photos and videos could look so beautiful. Emily is a must hire - we can't wait to use her for future family photo sessions!

Let me just start out with a HUGE “thank you” to Emily and her Husband Justin for making my day one to remember. They are so much fun and so full of smiles, we shared many laughs. They were also able to help me manage the hectic requests of each family member wanting their own photos with phones (even though I was against it) because I hired them for the quality photos not for my family to spam social media with their cellphone photos lol. But they didn’t hesitate to make sure everyone was pleased which I am grateful for. I was also sent two photos that very night which was just absolutely amazing to have a sneak pick of more to come. I highly HIGHLY recommend hiring both Emily and Justin for their photo and video package for your wedding. I will say I used Emily prior for a previous wedding and wished everyday after that I had included video. So this time I made sure that I had both of them there to make our day one we will have endless amounts of photos and video memories of. They are truly an amazing couple that you will admire when you meet them. -

I could not be happier with my experience with Emily Gibby Photography. I would recommend her 100%. From the beginning, communicating with her was so simple. She responded within 12 hours when I contacted her for a quote, and any time I had a question, she got back to me very quickly. The price she quoted was extremely reasonable for our temple wedding and reception. Her package also offered a complimentary engagement session, which we ultimately did not take advantage of, but she was willing to travel to accommodate us and our schedule.
Emily asked a lot of questions before the wedding to make sure she understood what we wanted from our photographs. She made sure she knew the events and, most importantly, the people we wanted to capture on our day. On the day of the wedding, this made taking family and friend portraits a smooth and easy process.
Emily is friendly, warm, and professional, and she has a gift for making people feel comfortable. The photo session she did with my husband and I was simple and fun. My husband is always anxious about getting his photo taken, but Emily put him at ease, and we got some great shots of him with his real smile (which is extremely hard to capture!). I was surprised on the day of the wedding that she brought a second photographer, doubling the number of great photos we got. The staged and posed photos she took of us were fantastic, but she also captured some great candid moments of our family and friends that really reflected the feeling of the day.
The pictures came back sooner than we expected—with so many more than we expected—and they were absolutely gorgeous. I am so happy we had her there to capture our wedding day. -

Emily made us feel so comfortable from the first time we met her for our engagement photo session. Emily and her husband Justin (Gibby Visuals - video) came with us to our destination wedding in the Bahamas last month. They were incredible. Emily captured so many unique moments and did so in a way that was comfortable, yet professional. While we were there Emily and Justin both fit in with our friends and family so well, but also remained focused on their work. Our family and friends commented on how wonderful they were "as people." Emily captured the little details, and precious moments that we will cherish forever. To be honest, my wedding day was a bit of blur, there's so much going on. I'm so grateful to have the pictures to remind me of the wonderful time we had celebrating with family and friends. Our wedding was Emily's first time shooting a Greek Orthodox church ceremony. She did great! She not only captured the highlights of the ceremony, but she also took time to take pictures of the church itself and all of it's charm. -

Jenna Sent on 07/04/2018I could not have picked a more perfect photographer for my wedding! Emily was incredible from start to finish. Our engagement shoot was great, giving us an opportunity to get to know each other and get comfortable in from of the camera.
On the wedding day Emily was professional and fun! She blended right in, getting the shot without being intrusive. During family photos she was so efficient, getting them all done (beautifully) in about 20min. My day of coordinator had nothing but nice things to say about how flexible and easy to work with Emily was.
She got the photos back to me so quickly and I am obsessed! Emily caught all the important moments and more. I will cherish these photos forever.
10/10 highly recommend Emily for future brides (or for family photo sessions-she does a great job with those, too)! -

OMG LOOK NO FURTHER, Emily is extraordinary. Your photographer is the next most important person at the wedding next to your spouse. Emily was with me every step of the way to keep me on track as my husband was on deployment. She sent me a checklist of where we both needed to be with the time frame. When my family was acting crazy she was VERY flexible with putting them together. Most importantly when the unthinkable happened and my florist didn't show, Emily dropped her camera and helped my family spring into action to make our dream come true. Even after our big day we got our photos back very quickly, they were separated by events which made it easier to go through. I know this review is long but that's the just it, Emily is that amazing at what she does and her personality is to die for. Hiring her was the best decision we made and our photo were amazing (I looked good from every angle -

Amy Sent on 11/15/2017Emily was a complete joy to have as our photographer!!! She was SO friendly, very professional, and completely open to any suggestions or questions that we had. Her communication was fantastic, and she even helped me find a lady to help me with flowers for the wedding when we were having issues. Literally all of my family and bridal party told me after the wedding how much they loved her! She’s the best!
