Beautiful dress, looks better in person. I can't confirm that the size is correct becuase I bought the dress one size up due to that being the only size available. But it's gorgeous on and I can't wait to get it fitted so its perfect. I think it would be nice if I could have the company do my alterations at least the hem due to the bottom written detail. I'm very short, 5' even, and this dress will have to be shortened considerably to accommodate my size and due to the detailing, a creative alteration is necessary. But I am still so excited to have the dress and can't wait for our military ball in January '14!

The services and communication works quick and well. Dress were beautifully made, good quality, great price. Looks little bit different than on the picture. On the picture looks more gently and in the real more reach. But I would not see that like a problem. Everybody should count with that. Still very nice. Just I would not recommend to shop through the internet to somebody who is not at least 170 cm tall and have not standard type of body. I am very petite and the dress did not fit to me. Even when usually I am number 8. I were lost. I had to send it back.

I ordered three dresses for my bridesmaids. We had some doubts about sizes and shipping (outside UK) but Elliot Claire Ltd provided all help we needed. All replies to my e-mails were in max 2h.
The thing worth to be emphasized is that they really care about the size of bought dresses. To confirm the order it is necessary to send them measurements for double check. I find it as an amazing help.
Dresses look better in reality than in photos.
I would recommend Elliot Claire Ltd to everyone!

I didn't want a ball gown style wedding dress and Elliot Claire had so much more choice than other places. The fit was good, and they even messaged me to check measurements just in case. Dress is beautiful and comfortable.

I ordered a dress from Elliot Claire to wear for my daughter's wedding. While I initially was hesitant about ordering a dress sight unseen, I would have no qualms about doing so again through Elliot Claire. Any questions I had were answered promptly via email and the dress itself was beautiful and well-made. The only snafu occurred when the dress was sent earlier than promised (and I was away on a trip), but the problem was resolved with no difficulty. Unfortunately, the dress does not look quite as good on me as I had hoped and I am returning it. Here, too, the Elliot Claire salesperson has been professional, pleasant, and helpful. I would strongly recommend purchasing a dress from Elliot Claire based on my experience.

I ordered a spring dress, it came on time but the size was a bit large. I spoke with lovely Regina of customer supports, she made sure which size was the best for me for this specific dress (after she asked for my measurements) and I got my replacement asap :).

I bought my wedding dress in Elliot Claire after visiting their shop in London. I ended up choosing the very first dress I tried on there!

I was rather daunted about looking for a dress as I had looked at some websites belonging to the "posher" shops online and hadn't found anything at all I liked. I needn't have worried though as from the moment I entered Elliot Claire I was able to relax. The girls there were so relaxed and easy to deal with. I tried on lots of different dresses in many different styles and was assisted by the quiet unobtrusive advice from Anthea who was fantastic. I bought a lovely classic dress and ordered it to made to measure which meant that I could customise different details to make the dress unique. The tailoring process was fantastic and Suzanne really made the dress fit me perfectly. It arrived about 2 and a half months after I ordered it and there was about another 3 weeks for alterations. This was much faster than some of the more expensive wedding dress shops.

I was delighted with my dress on the day - it fit me perfectly and it was fabulous that I had made it my own. I would definitely recommend Elliot Claire.

Because it was a standard size and in stock, Elliot Clare was able to provide me the dress I ordered within 3 days, including overseas delivery; the dress is lovely, and of very good quality for the price.
I anticipated having to make certain alterations, and it looks like those will be easy through my seamstress--however, part of the dress (the beading) was not as I expected, and was of a color and style I didn't love. I asked for assistance, and Elliot Claire's customer service representatives sent me, promptly and free of charge, a set of alternate beads to aid in making those alterations. They seem committed to producing quality dresses and making customers happy.

I ordered a dress from this store. I had a lot of email correspondence with them beforehand. They always responded promptly. I returned the dress as it was not 'the one' for me but I had no concerns about quality, and excellent value for money. It arrived promptly and in gorgeous tissue packaging. The returns procedure was fairly straightforward.

I did have a few issues with receiving conflicting information, presumably from different staff members. In a 'webchat' conversation I was told my product would be guaranteed delivery by 1pm, but the next day I received an email saying this would be an extra £10 if I contacted them to arrange within the next few hours. I had missed this deadline (I had even informed them I wouldn't have email access within working hours), but they had dispatched it and it came by 1pm anyway, so there was no problem for me.

Prior to my order I was told I would be able to return it in person, but when I requested to return it I was told it should be done by courier (I anticipated this to be approximately £20 to my own cost) because they were moving premises so it would be difficult for them at this time. I quoted their original correspondence back to them as I did not want to pay the courier charge and they agreed to let me return it in person, which I did with no problems. My refund was returned in full with no problems within 1 week, as advised.

In summary - I would have no concerns about ordering another dress from them, but perhaps not a wedding dress as nothing really beats trying it on in person. Although I hear they are shortly setting up a showroom. Overall a positive experience.

Both Regina and Chloe are very prompt in responding to all my email queries, and we worked through the email correspondances to arrive at the design and material, including color which I require for my custom-made and design dress.

Now I am waiting in great anticipation for the dress to arrive and hope it will be beautiful. Will update once it has arrived.

I found Elliot Claire from a friend of mine who had her dream dress from them. I spoke to them via chat and they were really friendly. The dress I wanted from them though was made to order and that they need 12 weeks to make a dress. luckily, there were able to find one that is so much much better!! if it weren't for the staff, I wouldn't have found this dress!!! :) they were also kind enough to alter the dress for me. I got my dress in no time! :) I would definitely recommend Elliot Claire to my friends!

The communication was quick and helpful which is very important for customers booking online. I appreciate the team being flexible on the date and size but the only down time was the mess up on the shipment time between international and local service. I almost risk not to be able to receive my wedding gown on time.

I ordered the dress last Monday and receved it Wednesday (that's an international delivery as well).
Great service and the fact they confirm the size with the customer is actually quite good.

Downside: after confirming that I am between a size 6 and 8, I received a medium sized dress which was clearly a size 10, was a bit dissapointing. My event is on Friday and trying to get it done before that was quite a hassle.

Overall was a good service, just make sure you have the right sized dress

Really pleased with my maid of honour's dress. There was a mix-up with the delivery address for my order which meant that my maid of honour wasn't able to try it on within the return period but when I spoke to Elliot Claire they were very helpful and agreed to extend the return period until she could try it on.

I bought my wedding dress from Elliot Claire after months of searching. When I came across the dress I bought I fell in love with it and was just what I wanted. The dress was "made to order" so once I purchased the dress I emailed to give my measurements. I was advised that as the dress was made to order I would receive the dress within 8-10 weeks. To my surprise , just over 2 weeks later I received my wedding dress. It arrived in a small box and I couldn't believe my dress was in there. Once I opened the dress I was pleased with the quality but it wasn't worth what I had paid for. When I tried it on I was very disappointed. The dress didn't fit at all and was around 2 sizes too small, my friend who is 2 sizes smaller than myself tried the dress on and it just to say fit her. How could this be when I had sent my measurements to them? I emailed them and they did advise they sent a standard size and it wasn't made to measure. I wasn't happy with this at all as I had paid for a service that I didn't receive . After a few emails this has now been resolved and I don't have any complaints regarding the outcome. However, just be careful when you think you are getting a made to measure dress , you might not be. If you are a size 14 or over then Elliot Claire might not be the best option for you . Unless you can physically try the dress on before you buy.

I ordered an Elliot Claire dress for my wedding. The dress arrived promptly, however some of the stones were loose and one (large one) was missing completely. The efficient staff were happy to help, however I was still slightly disappointed as the dress was quite expensive so would not expect the quality of the materials used to result in some of the design being missing.

Very poor quality of the dress. It was supposed to be custom made, however when received, changes on the dress was not possible. Delivery of the dress was also delayed by two weeks without any information/ contact by Elliot Claire. I would not recommend it.

Before I received my dress all my emails were responded to very quickly. They were very helpful with getting my size correct and any questions I had. That being said when I received the dress it was NOT the dress in the picture. It was a version but not even close to the beautiful dress in the picture on the website. One breast cup sat higher than the other. The front was suppose to be smooth, but the cheap material used bunched up and got creases that can't be smoothed out. There are many other problems with the dress.

After I sent an email saying I want a refund they have not responded to me. I have now sent two emails and am still waiting for a response.

I did my research and read all the reviews. The reviews were very misleading.

I would not order from here again.

Elliot Claire Ivory Cowl dress - no ivory; no cowl...

I will start with the positive: EC satisfy two out of the five criteria on this website (therefore a score of 2/5), i.e. they were very responsive by email and were able to refund my dress quickly; and the refund process was very professional.

However, at the end of the day the dress was a disappointment and I will not be back. The issues are below:

1. The fabric was much whiter than the dress in the photo. Sure, it is difficult to see colour on the internet and I was prepared to be flexible but the difference was too wide. They said they would review the photos on the website.

2. The beading on the shoulder and top of the right breast line did not match the photo. Again, the difference was too wide. The beads were of a different colour, sparser and the beading on the chest does not reach the right armpit.

3. The cowl neck on the front was 11 folds in the photograph and had a tightly packed and attractive shape. The actual dress had only 8 folds, some of which were an inch wide. It looked like the seamstress didn't have time to make 11 folds, so just made 8 ones. The front folds were therefore chunky and loose.

The categories above don't actually cover the product itself which is quite interesting. My advice would be APPROACH WITH CAUTION! If it seems too good to be true then it most certainly is the case in my experience. I was feeling very positive after receiving excellent feedback leading up to and immediately after I purchased my dress (black tea length dress). I was even more impressed when after ordering my off-the-peg-size-dress that I was contacted for the measurements for the required length of the dress.
Having waited the long four weeks, my dress arrived at last and although a little apprehensive I was excited to try it on. I don't think I could have been more disappointed! First of all the dress looked NOTHING like the picture. The material was cheap looking and the quality was questionable. The end of the zip at the back had not been finished and there was no hook and eye so it just fell open at the top. While the body of the dress fitted perfectly (I am a normal size 14) the arm holes were so small I couldn't even get them up past my elbow! Most unbelievable though was the length of the dress. Having stipulated, at their request, my desired length, the the dress was a whopping 5 inches too short and rather than finishing mid shin sat very unflatteringly above the knee - more rah rah than tea length! Now it's a mad dash to the shops to go and find myself something decent to wear!

I ordered and paid for a £150 dress on 27th Sept for a party on 11th October. I thought this would be plenty of time to receive it. I initially ordered a size 12 but the website crashed and didnt complete. When I tried again the size 12 had gone so I had to order a size 14.
I then waited over a week and did not receive my dress so I contacted Eliott Claire who advised me the dress was not available. I then questioned how they could charge someone £150 for something, let the order go through and then suddenly the dress isnt available? I waited a bit longer, contacted them again and they said it would be here on weds 16th Oct and I can choose any dress from any collection for free as an apology. I thought this was very good so I found a nice dress which showed as available on the website and emailed the lady back with my request. She then said that dress was not available and I should send 5 different dress choices to her to see if they are in stock. I did this and they advised they were also not in stock. So 6 out of 6 dresses were not available. I was then told they are sending me a purse instead.
Obviously I am not going to complain about not getting a free dress, as I am getting a free purse as an apology but they should not promise something and then not follow through. They also should not advertise dresses on their website which arent available.
These dresses are all very expensive so you would expect excellent service and products. I still have not received my dress and I am hoping it is nice after all this as I dread to think what their return procedure is like. I will 100% not recommend this company.

Before my dress arrived the service was impeccable. Constant emails asking for details and double checking the sizes etc from Regina. Then the dress arrived, with stains down the front, and then when I sent an email to Customer Services with pictures attached on the very same day, it took another two emails before I finally got a response - Disgusting! and even then I had to ask three times whether or not they were going to refund me the postage it cost to return the dress back to them.
I would never buy a dress from them again, and I would certainly never recommend them to anyone!

I'd like to be able to say that the purchase of my wedding dress was totally stress free but this has not been the case with Elliot Claire. Pre-appointment service was great. I found a dress that I loved but needed alterations. As I had come over from Holland to find a dress, I was happy for them to do the alterations and I planned a trip back to London to pick it up two months later.
Two months later as I was waiting at the station to collect my dress, I received a call to say that it wasn't ready. I was not planning on making another trip back to London so I took it anyway to get it altered elsewhere.
The seamstress in Holland was appalled at the state of the dress (she thought it was second hand), Elliot Claire had managed to fix the zip at the back but had done it so badly that it had to be done again. The seamstress was worried that the dress would not survive the alterantions.
After contacting Elliot Claire to complain, I received one email offering me a 50% credit note which was of no use to me as I was not coming back to London, when I responded, they didn't reply. I emailed again a week later, still no reply.
The whole situation has been very stressful, I now have a sub standard dress which will not make me feel like a princess on my most special day. Elliot Claire clearly are not one bit concerned - they got their money so why do they need to provide any after care???
The dresses here are lovely and cheaper, but please be warned, you really do get what you pay for. Selling a wedding dress is about a lot more than just selling a dress. Don't use this company if you want them to really care about your big day, because they will spoil it for you.
