Ellen was our Boulder guide, cheerleader, design consultant and florist. She designed arrangements I couldn't even imagine coming out as beautiful as they did. I wanted a bohemian, natural, green and Spring mountain landscape motif. I sent her some ChatGPT generated ideas with flowers that weren't even real flowers and she outdid every bit of it on the big day. She took us to coffee to nail in final design plans. She came over the day before the wedding to bring hair flowers and give us instructions on how to place them and keep everything fresh. She arrived early at our venue to set everything up so it would look perfect. She helped my little flower girls perfectly pin in their hair pieces. She found the most beautiful and creative little flowers and berries I'd never seen before to bring in exactly the colors I wanted. Amazing! The whole wedding was beautiful and sweet thanks to Ellen who I (obviously) highly recommend.EllenCara Boulder's reply:

Wedding florals of my dreams
Ellen was an absolute joy to work with. She created the florals of my dreams! My vision was a classic and elegant black tie optional wedding and she went above and beyond my expectations. Ellen is also such a fun, lovely, and friendly person to work with- she truly put me at ease that she would deliver on the vision. My florals made my wedding feel like a fairytale and it was truly the best day of my life. I could not recommend Ellen enough!! Thank you Ellen!!!! -

I can not reconnect Ellen enough!!! Ellen created the most stunning florals and helped us work within a very reasonable budget!! I know nothing about florals, but she made the process very easy! She communicated with us through the entire planning process, and her results exceed all expectations! My guests were shocked at how beautiful her work was. She helped me incorporate a personalized bouquet ribbon that was very import to me, and provided STUNNING hair florals that included berries and really made a storybook look come together!EllenCara Boulder's reply:

I cannot recommend Ellen highly enough. I didnt have a wedding planner, and Ellen was an absolute saving grace for my wedding planning. She helped me figure out my vision, was flexible with changes along the way, and made it spectacular. She was amazing working with my budget to create exactly what I was looking for. The day of she was such a wonderful person to have on site. She made family tear up with her kind words, improvised perfectly when issues arose setting up, and created the most beautiful arrangements. She is an artist and I am so, so grateful for her work. When we were looking for flowers, we wanted a vendor who was communicative, professional, and easy to work with. Ellen was a perfect match and exceeded our expectations. We were not experts with flowers and wanted a fairly natural look. Ellen helped us pick and figure out exactly what we needed.
My husband and his groomsmen were especially appreciative of Ellen’s help with putting on the boutonnieres, which turned out beautifully in real life and in pictures. The flowers looked great for the ceremony, and Ellen was a calming presence while we waited out the rain that came in right before.
Altogether, we could not have asked for a better experience with our wedding flowers than what Ellen provided. Thank you again for her great help!EllenCara Boulder's reply:

Ellen is the best!
Ellen was incredible! She stuck with us through multiple reschedulings during COVID, and I'm so glad she did because the flowers she designed for our wedding were perfect. We didn't have a lot of concrete ideas about what we wanted, but she talked us through it and understood the atmosphere we had in mind and created really beautiful arrangements that were perfect for our fairly casual outdoor event. We loved working with her and would highly recommend her for weddings! -

We found Ellen through a random Google search and could not have been happier. She took my rather limited vision and very little direction from me and turned it into something amazing! My bouquet was more than I could have imagined, as were the bridesmaids bouquets to accent it. All of the boutonnieres slowly went up in how elaborate they were going from grandfathers to the groom. Her prices are realistic and she clearly knows what she is doing, and works with other gardens to help your wedding florals vision come to life. Ellen is so responsive and is willing to work with you when your desires may not be in season for your wedding time, and will offer alternatives that are even better. She was so motivating while planning a COVID wedding and we could not have asked for a better person to help us stay focused on such an important day in such an unexpected time. I cannot recommend EllenCara Boulder enough, and our groomsmen all want to be friends with her because she is such a great hype-man when the big day finally comes!EllenCara Boulder's reply:

Ellen was hands down THE best decision we made in planning our big day. She took my description of what I wanted and effortlessly made it a reality. She doesn't just think of the basics like colors and type of flower, but gets down to the minute details like wrapping each votive candle in copper wire (her idea to incorporate our wedding colors, and it was beautiful). She is SO incredibly talented and made the whole process so easy! LOVE her kind soul and beautiful work and will definitely be using her in the future!EllenCara Boulder's reply:

Best of the best! Ellen is so much fun to work with - Both of my daughters-in-law used her VERY happily. And as the MOG, I used her for our rehearsal dinners. She absolutely transforms a room and is not afraid of the hard work involved; including transferring flowers to the mountaintops. Works with your budget and is clever in her vision. Lana Sent on 10/03/2012Working with Ellen as our florist for our wedding was one of the best parts of planning our wedding! She totally executed our vision to the fullest and it couldn't have been more beautiful. Ellen really took the time to get to know my personal tastes, and created the most stunning bouquets, creative boutineers, and gorgeous wrist corsages for our female VIP family members. She even made a custom ring bearer pillow which had a small floral arrangement that tied everything together.
Before arriving to the chapel and making sure everyone in the wedding party/family was pinned with their special arrangement and gave me and my bridesmaids our bouquets, she had already been to our reception site to make sure all of the arrangements were perfectly placed for the guests arrival, and even decorated our wedding cake herself with fresh flowers to go with the theme. Ellen is also very eco-conscious, which I greatly appreciated. A guest from each table was also allowed to take home the gorgeous centerpiece she created for each table, some including recycled aluminum containers which were stunning.
I HIGHLY recommend EllenCara Boulder if you're looking for a florist with excellent taste, a knack for making your vision a reality, the day of your wedding a true breeze, and a true professional. If I could attach photos to this review- you would be amazed! THANKS SO MUCH, ELLEN! -

We went in with a vague idea of what we wanted (sunflowers & wildflower feel) and she ran with with it. She did everything she could to not only stay within our flower budget, but help us with ideas to cut costs in other areas without losing our style. Before we met with her I was a little overwhelmed with planning, but she helped with some ideas and that's honestly when I really started to get excited about how the wedding would look. She is flexible and can make just about anything work, but she's also honest - if she doesn't think she is a good match for what you want (hard to imagine), she will say so and provide other resources to try. She is great at building personal relationships with her clients, too - I feel like she's as much our friend as our florist! -

Lauren Sent on 12/02/2011From the moment we met Ellen, we realized there was something unique and refreshing about her approach to wedding flowers. A lot of the other vendors we spoke with were inflexible and unwilling to work with us on a smaller budget, but Ellen didn't seem phased nor did she suggest that having a smaller budget would somehow compromise the beauty of her work. She is truly and artist and is passionate about her work, her flowers, and her brides. I strongly believe that her end goal is not all about the income but the fulfillment of producing beauty and satisfying her clients. In addition, Ellen is very in touch with the environment and takes special consideration to engage in the friendliest practices out there. She even has her own garden which is amazing and carefully crafted to best suit the plants' needs. We were also pleased to know that she makes use of the flowers after the wedding by either donating them to various places (like a women's shelter) or composting them. When I finally saw what she had produced for us on the day of the wedding, I couldn't have been happier. She is creative but truly listens to what you want and your vision of the day. Looking back on the pictures, I love seeing the pieces of her work throughout and how much it adds to the beauty of that day. You won't go wrong by hiring her!
