I cannot fit all of the good things to say about Ellen in a single review. We worked together for almost 2 years to plan a fall 2021 wedding and I texted her 48 hours after our wedding to say I was experiencing “Ellen withdrawals” because she was so much more than just a wedding planner to us. Ellen had planned a friend’s wedding that we attended a few years prior, and we knew that her design completely matched the wedding we envisioned. She was the first and best decision we made during the process!
Rather than spend hours Googling vendors, Ellen made the process incredibly easy by giving us a small selection of vendors she had vetted (and typically worked with before), but never hesitated to continue looking if we were not completely happy. She got excited when we thought of ways to make our wedding unique (corndog station, shuffleboard table, Chinese elements) and kept us on track with our budget – always adjusting in other areas when we went over in one area.
The week and days leading up to our wedding were incredibly stressful, not because there were things that still needed to be done (Ellen had all of that covered well in advance), but inevitably because of weather. I had dreamed of an outdoor ceremony at the Swan House, but a hurricane was determined to ruin our plans. That week, Ellen worked closely with our florist (Chelsea from Luxe and Bloom!) and other vendors to design a beautiful rain plan indoors and she responded to my numerous text messages freaking out about the weather and the million other questions that popped into my head last minute. Ultimately, she delivered and made ALL of the correct calls – from keeping the ceremony outdoors to moving the cocktail hour inside – which was crucial because it started pouring 10 minutes after our ceremony.
I could go on for pages about how wonderful she is, but hopefully if you have made it this far, you know to go ahead and book Ellen as your wedding planner – you won’t regret it! -

WOW! Words do not describe how grateful we are to have had Ellen as our coordinator. I truly cannot recommend her enough! I'm a highly-organized, control freak. I always struggle with relinquishing control, but with Ellen, I knew immediately I could trust her to take over and she more than proved me right. She went above and beyond to insure that our day not only went smoothly, but perfectly. She was always on top of everything - extremely thorough, highly organized and communicative. Not to mention, she is a wonderful, fun, kind person who you will enjoy being around. She wants the best for her clients and it shows. Her knowledge and experience also proved to be very beneficial as I felt comfortable leaning on her for many decisions I was unsure of. I highly recommend choosing Ellen if you want to be able to actually relax and enjoy the experience while feeling 100% confident that you have the best possible person in the driver's seat. She's a true pro and she's got you! -

Lauren Sent on 09/25/2020In just 8 weeks, Ellen put together the perfect wedding!
When I first called Ellen I had only a wedding date, venue and 8 weeks to plan an entire wedding. 8 weeks!!!! I only assumed I would get laughed at for thinking it could be done but sure enough, Ellen sad “we got this”. Not only did she make me feel good about calling her, she made it easy to say yes to hiring her and took away the stress away, I felt an instant connection and knew it would be a great partnership!
In just the 8 weeks I worked with Ellen as she planned my entire wedding and made me feel calm at the same time! The end result was absolutely everything I could have ever imagined. The wedding was beautiful, perfectly put together and all the vendors she selected for me were great! Many of my guests still say it was the prettiest wedding they have ever been to. I couldn’t have been any happier with Ellen and her work. I am beyond appreciative of all that she did to make my wedding PERFECT! Thank you, Ellen!

Ellen was nothing short of a godsend for our wedding. Before we found Ellen, we had hired another planner, who we ultimately felt unsatisfied with. Less than 4 months before our wedding, we pivoted and hired Ellen, who we thought would only need to sew up the last few vendors and oversee a simple “day of planning”.
Then, of course, COVID happened, and the scope of work completely changed. We had to replan the wedding twice, restarted vendor negotiations multiple times, and discussed multiple 2020 and 2021 scenarios. In all the chaos, Ellen remained unflappable, organized, and extremely communicative throughout. Even in the midst of a rainstorm during our outside wedding dinner, she didn’t hesitate to roll up her sleeves and help move us inside. While our 13 person wedding wasn’t exactly what we had originally planned, it was a wonderful memory we’ll have forever, and perfectly executed by Ellen.
To summarize, as people with a business and client service background, my wife and I had high expectations on the structure, communication, and overall support that a planner should bring to the table. Ellen exceeded every single one of those expectations. We could not recommend her more highly. -

Ellen was seriously the best, and we most certainly couldn’t have planned the wedding without her. She was super professional but also so much fun to work with. She had great suggestions for vendors, was beyond organized, and was available when we needed her. We had to reschedule our wedding due to COVID, and when the new date was arriving, we decided to have family only and change the venue to my in-law’s house!!! Ellen was extremely supportive and just as helpful even through that crazy change! She made the process so easy, and I couldn’t recommend her enough. -

Simply put, I could not have planned (and postponed) a wedding without Ellen.
When I got engaged I knew we would need a wedding planner because I live in Atlanta and my mom lives in South Florida. Ellen was recommended to us by our venue and it was evident after our first phone call that she was going to be the one to help us bring our special day to life.
Ellen is extremely professional and personable, she is one of the most organized people that I know and her templates, checklists, and timelines are a life saver. Ellen is extremely respected in the wedding industry and works with the most incredible vendors.
I can comment all day on her professional abilities, but what is most impactful is her genuineness. She truly cares about her clients and goes above and beyond to make sure their day is perfect. When we had to postpone our March 21st wedding FOUR days before we were supposed to walk down the aisle due to COVID and we had no idea what to do. Ellen took the time to listen to our feelings and was extremely supportive and positive. She immediately began damage control and worked with the venue and our vendors to get options for new dates and began the process of switching everything to our new date.
Thankfully, we were able to get married on July 25th, and while things were different from how we originally envisioned it was also more beautiful and perfect than we could’ve imagined. Ellen and her team of vendors executed a flawless wedding, even with the rain forcing us into Plan C it was magical. Thank you Ellen for everything!

To put it simply – Ellen is the best money we spent on our entire wedding weekend! Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about her and her work! Her expertise is invaluable and she really knows what she is doing!
From the beginning Ellen was open to any and all ideas we had and gave us the honest and realistic feedback and support we asked for. My husband and I had no idea what we were looking for in a wedding, but Ellen listened to all our ideas and made it happen! Ellen referred us to all our vendors and they did not disappoint either. Using Ellen to help pick vendors made the entire process SO EASY! She only made suggestions that fit into our budget so we never felt pressured to overspend and she did all the vendor negotiations and contracts for us. It was a BREEZE!
Communication with Ellen was easy and timely. She was there to keep us on track and was so organized. She was persistent with our vendors when we needed follow up and we did not have to handle any of the coordination or communication. She took all the stress off us! Ellen does a wedding almost every weekend, but you would never know it. She remembered everything we talked about each time and you would never know she was juggling a ton of other weddings. She makes you feel like you are her only client.
You will not be disappointed with Ellen and we owe the success of our entire wedding weekend to her! SHE REALLY IS THE BEST!!! -

Annie from Ellen Thomas Events did an INCREDIBLE job with the planning for our wedding! We went with the partial planning package, but both Annie and Ellen were easily accessible via email in the months leading up to our wedding. Then, Annie did a great job managing all of our vendors leading up to the wedding, and she provided very helpful documents for the timeline, table layout, etc. She was also excellent with communication and responded very quickly to emails. I felt very comfortable knowing that Annie had everything taken care of before, during, and after the wedding, and that made our wedding day a very enjoyable and no-stress event. I highly recommend Annie for wedding planning services--super professional and super nice! -

I couldn't have done it without her! As I bride, I was very indecisive, but after meeting Ellen choosing my wedding planner was an easy decision. She made all my dreams come to life and within our budget! She went above and beyond for us over and over again and is well worth every penny! Ellen really helped keep me calm on the day of the wedding. We of course were behind schedule but she never let me know that we needed to speed things up and kept reassuring me that we had plenty of time. Ellen made our wedding day and planning up to it 100 times easier! She made following up with vendors a breeze and on wedding day had already thought of everything. For example - our getaway car didn’t show up as planned at the end of the night, she had already ordered us another car, had our bags in it and it waiting outside before even telling us. She didn’t give me a moment to be stressed because it was all already handled! She then followed up with the vendor to make sure we got our money back. We had the BEST experience with Ellen in planning our wedding! We first met with Ellen in April and we knew we wanted to get married this year, on a Saturday. It was a tall order but Ellen made it happen seamlessly. Hiring Ellen as our full service planner is absolutely the best decision we could have made for our wedding!
We both have really demanding jobs, but Ellen made wedding planning easy and fun for us. She found us perfect vendors, and made sure our entire wedding planning process ran very smoothly. She also swooped in and fixed any problems, always responding on the same day and helping us find solutions, even on weekends or nights. She was great at working with vendors and making sure everything ran smoothly.
Our wedding weekend was absolutely perfect thanks to Ellen. She coordinated our day down to the last detail without ever making us feel stressed, overwhelmed, or overscheduled. We were totally relaxed on our day and everything went perfectly. We are really non-traditional people, and we wanted a non-traditional wedding, and Ellen absolutely understood our needs and delivered for us!! THANKS ELLEN! -

Our wedding day was everything we wanted it to be and more! Ellen and her assistant were incredible! Everything went incredibly smoothly. We stayed on Ellen's meticulous schedule without it seeming structured and had the perfect event. Everything looked amazing and everyone had a blast! We are so thankful! Ellen was organized, knowledgable, and responsive. I can't even describe how much we appreciated her hard work that went far beyond her job description. We felt calm and comfortable in Ellen's hands and we highly recommend Ellen to anyone getting married!

If you're lucky enough to work with her, I can honestly say you are making one of the best possible decisions for your wedding. The entire engagement and wedding weeekend, I was constantly told how laid back and relaxed I seemed (especially for an out of town bride), and that was 100% due to Ellen's amazing talent and hard work. I knew after our first meeting that she understood our vision and aesthetic perfectly and that made it so easy to trust all of her recommendations for vendors and design. She has an incredible eye and is also very mindful of budget, which is key.
Months later, I'm still not over our wedding and wish we could do it all over again! I've heard horror stories from friends who handled their own planning and were unable to enjoy their special day - do not make that mistake. My husband and I felt like we were guests at our own wedding and had the most fun, thanks to Ellen handling literally everything for us. She's a dream! Highly HIGHLY recommend!!! -

Joanna Sent on 05/06/2018I cannot imagine going through the wedding planning process without Ellen. We wanted to ENJOY the planning process as much as possible. We also wanted a shorter engagement timeline. Those two factors led us down the path of considering a wedding planner. I actually went abroad for work just a week after our engagement, and we quickly realized many decisions needed to be made while I was gone. After connecting with Ellen, we set up a Google Hang (video conference) for the three of us to meet virtually. After hearing our initial ideas, she emailed a proposal with her vision and pricing options… and the rest was history! We knew we needed to book full planning and get all the help we could from Ellen. If you're getting married in Atlanta and live in another city, Ellen’s planning software is perfect for virtual planning.
There are so many decisions to be made while planning (some BIG and some that seem silly at first but end up having a huge impact on the day)… working with Ellen Thomas was one of the biggest and BEST decisions we made throughout the entire process. Her expertise and advise were critical every step of the way – from choosing the venue, vendors, guest lists, creating the timeline and staying on time and within budget. My Dad gave a shout out to Ellen and her team during his speech at the reception citing her 20-page PDF timeline for the weekend which spelled out every DETAIL and every minute of the event. That may sound overwhelming... but it was just the opposite. Reading through all of the details we’d discussed with vendors and seeing small decisions we’d made written out in one place gave us so much confidence that the wedding would run smoothly.
