  Elegant Music, indeed!

  Five stars but I would give more if I could. Eric and his band are incredible, simply put. From the beginning of us connecting about my wedding, he was the epitome of a consummate professional... he was so easy to work with throughout the entire process, and always was approachable and available - I could truly tell that he wanted to make my wedding as special as it could possibly be! He was very hands-on and extremely detail-oriented... he even helped plan out our entire wedding night with us, detail by detail, like a wedding planner does. Knowing that he would be the emcee for the night allowed me to relax; I knew he'd make sure the night flowed as I wanted and do everything in a very elegant way, which he of course did. It was so nice having one point of contact for everything music - my ceremony, my cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and DJ - he did everything. I went to him not wanting a cookie cutter wedding, but rather for the evening to feel like a very elegant dinner party, and he executed on that! My husband and I were very specific with our musical choices for each part of the night, and he honored our wishes and even surprised us with some songs that are absolutely our other favorites, we had just forgotten to include them! The music was so perfect the entire night, and was such a crucial part of the ambiance being as fabulous as it was. I cannot wait until I have another reason to hire Eric - his band is amazing and he is such a wonderful person to work with, his energy is such a breath of fresh air!

  Looking for a great pianist/DJ/Master of Ceremonies? He's here!

  I can’t begin to thank Eric for his contributions to making my daughter’s wedding so memorable and magical! Everything was spectacular, and his accompanying our guest singer was beautiful. The music selections for the ceremony and cocktail hour were so perfect. Eric sketched an evening's itinerary timeline which helped everyone be in sync! My wife and I could not have asked for anything more from Eric...it truly was a special night! Thank you from all of us; I would not hesitate in recommending Eric for anyone's next event!   3 of 3 -- We ended the ceremony with the quartet doing an instrumental of “Marry You” by Buno Mars. We were dancing down the aisle and were then joined by our children and moms and our guests. It was magical! The quartet music continued during the reception where our guests were getting to know each other while we were taking photos. Eric then took over the DJ role and set the mood for our reception in an adjoining room. As he announced our family and us he played Smash Mouth’s “I’m a Believer.” Everyone was up on their feet and clapping. Through dinner, toasts, and special dances, Eric’s performance was seamless. The dance music included our ideas and his, blending old and new genres. After dinner, the dance floor bustled with non-stop dancing. We even went over our contracted time by 30 minutes. Eric played on till the time we had to end. And, he stayed true and ended the evening with my song of choice – “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey. And that’s the true message of our wedding: Don’t stop believing in magic, don’t stop believing in joy, and don’t stop believing in love. Thank you, Eric, Sheila, and Elegant Music, for the helping make our dream come true!

  1 of 3 Our wedding was at the Los Angeles Athletic Club – a very classy wedding venue. We had Elegant Music’s quartet play for our ceremony and cocktail hour. The pianist Eric Zimmerman continued on as the Master of Ceremonies and the DJ for our reception. These musicians were very talented and professional. They helped create such a joyful atmosphere, one that our guests are still talking about. I found Elegant Music when I attended a wedding open house at a popular LA church. Eric and his wife Sheila were performing. I picked up their card and soon after researched their website. The website was packed with information and videos of their performances. As a musician myself, I could tell right away that these folks would be great for our wedding. I contacted Eric shortly after via email. Within a week, he sent me a guest pass to a bridal show where his quartet was performing. I went and introduced myself. The quartet was finishing their lunch break. Eric put down his salad and asked me what song I’d like to hear them play. I chose one I heard on his website, “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay. A few moments later the musicians were seated and began to play. The quality of sound gave me chills. These people were amazing!!!! Shortly after that day, my fiancé and I met with Eric and his wife at their home to talk about what we were looking for and to see if Elegant Music was the right fit for us. Eric asked us about some of our ideas for song choices. He was genuinely enthusiastic. He then sat down at his piano and played some of those tunes for us. After a couple of songs, Shelia joined in with her flute. That told me that these folks know this business, are passionate about what they do, and have a large repertoire of music at their fingertips. Continued on the next review -----

  2 of 3 -- He offered a few suggestions from his many years of experience, which we welcomed with open arms. My fiancé and I are in our 50’s and both of us had previous marriages. It had been many years since our first weddings and many things have changed. We wanted this wedding to be an event to be cherished and remembered by our newly joined family and friends for many years to come, therefore, we wanted to leave nothing to chance. We had 5 more months until our wedding, so we put down our deposit that day. Securing Elegant Music 5 months before our big day gave us piece-of-mind. There was no pressure to sign a contract that day, that’s just what we wanted to do. And we are so glad we did. A little over a week before the wedding, we met again fine tuning the wedding script. I asked Eric if he could compose a medley of 2 songs for the ceremony. He said sure! Our wedding was not typical with bridesmaids and groomsmen, etc…. There were many nuances my fiancé and I wanted to include. Eric was great in incorporating our desires and scripting the entire evening.. The event began with the quartet playing for 30 minutes as our guests arrived. Guests told us how the room and the music created such a classy and beautiful experience. When the ceremony began, in the distance I could hear the medley (“Simple Gifts”/”Somewhere Over the Rainbow”) as my fiancé, our mothers, and our children walked down the aisle. The medley was exactly as I envisioned it. Then it was my turn. Shelia’s gorgeous flute resonated down the hall as I entered; the quartet was playing “1000 Years.” I was filled with joy, the joy my fiancé and I had intended for our wedding event to express. “ Edelweiss” was a special song request that the quartet preformed when we exchanged our rings – it went along with the name we now share “Edelmann.”

  We don't know where to start with the service, dedication and detail that we got from Eric & the rest of his band. We met him at the Los Angeles Convention Center Bridal Show. Right away we knew that he was going to be our DJ & band.
  
  Eric & his band did an amazing job during the ceremony. Eric did a fantastic job being the DJ & Master of Ceremonies during the reception. We have so many guests ranting and raving about how great the music was and the fact that they never sat down...

It began with meeting them in their home where we brought our (extensive) playlist and a million questions. They played the songs we had chosen for the ceremony prelude, processional and recessional. They gave us all the time and attention we needed to get it just right. They were set up and playing ON TIME at the Church and then again at the reception. Eric was our DJ and Master of Ceremonies during the cocktail party right through to the end of the night. He did make changes to the playlist based on what was happening with the crowd and kept that dancefloor hopping all night long. My guests are still telling me that it was the best party/wedding they have ever been to. Lots went into that but Eric seemed to always know what to say and when to not say anything. Quite a talent. I will definitely call him next time I have a party!

  Working with Eric was definitely a breeze. He was always helpful any time I called. He helped me plan out the ceremony and reception, gave me suggestions where inspiration was needed, and even help me customize my wedding music so it was my wedding and not a generic wedding.   I immediately knew Elegant Music was for me. We met Eric and his wife Sheila at their home for our consultation. We discussed our vision and music needs for the wedding (originally just a DJ for the reception) and Eric launched into his expertly prepared announcements, personalized with our names. He wowed us with his preparation, attention to detail and elegant voice. After explaining that live ceremony music was probably out of the budget, Eric and Sheila played the song I planned to walk down the aisle to live, right there in the living room. Spectacular. My mom and I cried. They played a few more for us to show all the different kinds of music that sounded beautiful in a piano and flute duet. We talked pricing and realized that it was totally doable to have them play live music for the ceremony and cocktail hour. My dad just handed him his credit card (that does not usually happen!).
  
  On the wedding day, their music was exquisite, of course. I remember standing in the bride’s room, just off the chapel, craning my neck to listen to the beautiful music that everyone else was getting to enjoy . At the reception, Eric was flawless as our DJ. He was so in-tune with the crowd and knew just what to play to keep them dancing all night long. It was better than I could have ever imagined. My disabled mother even jumped out of her scooter to join the party on the dance floor! He is also great with communicating with you through-out the night about the timing of special songs, last songs, etc. All it took was a look to have him start our first dance song at the right moment. He understood the vision of our wedding so well and was instrumental in pulling it all together.

  All I can say is that the Elegant Music Team is amazing!!! The contact person, Eric Zimmerman was very easy to work with! He gave me tons of advice on how a wedding processional is done. I hired a musical trio for my ceremony which including a pianoist, saxaphonist and a guitarist. I wanted a soulful jazzy feel to my ceremony! And let me tell you this company made my wildest dreams come true!! They were amazing! They are able to play a variety of music from current songs to oldies but goodies! I will never forget the song that was played as I walked down the aisle it was "I'm Ready" by Alisha Keyes!! It sound so amazing! The only thing I was missing was Alisha Keyes herself! lol! Oh and when they played "Pretty Wings" by Maxwell, I just melted! Thank You Elegant Music for making my wedding day dreams come true!

I hired a musical trio for my ceremony which including a pianoist, saxaphonist and a guitarist. I wanted a soulful jazzy feel to my ceremony! And let me tell you this company made my wildest dreams come true!! They were amazing! They are able to play a variety of music from current songs to oldies but goodies! I will never forget the song that was played as I walked down the aisle it was "I'm Ready" by Alisha Keyes!! It sound so amazing! The only thing I was missing was Alisha Keyes herself! lol! Oh and when they played "Pretty Wings" by Maxwell, I just melted! Thank You Elegant Music for making my wedding day dreams come true!

  I think this is important information for couples considering this group to know, this is all based on my opinion and personal experience with the company. We originally hired Elegant Music for our ceremony, and we were very happy with the initial meeting, although we did feel a significant amount of pressure to sign the contract asap, particularly compared to the level of pressure we felt from other vendors. At the meeting, two of the musicians spent a lot of time with us playing various options, and even did an impromptu version of one of my favorite songs. We were very happy and looked forward to the wedding day. Under the contract, we were given up until three months before the wedding date to cancel with an 80% refund of our deposit. Unfortunately, one month after signing the contract, five months out from the wedding, due to going over budget, we needed to cut costs, and this is one of the areas we decided to do it in. This is also where the trouble started.
  
  I wanted to handle the matter through our wedding coordinator, because based on the pressure we felt to get the contract/deposit in within 48 hours of our meeting, I was worried it would become uncomfortable. Our wedding coordinator called, and she said while they pushed not to cancel, they did agree to refund the deposit. The next day I received a voicemail on my cell phone that they were "very upset" and wanted us to call them immediately to discuss this. My fiance and I each took a turn on the phone, and in turn we each became very upset. After pushing us not to cancel, and asking us, how much we were spending on our flowers, Elegant Music agreed to return 80% of our deposit. But the first thing they said was, "you're not going to get it this month, and I can't promise you will get it next month." It was the 3rd of the month. They would not agree to a date to refund the deposit by, and would only say, before 6 months, which could be after our wedding. They were extremely rude to me on the phone, and told me that they've been in business for 20 years, and "you haven't even been married once." They said they are artists, and already spent our deposit and didn't have the money to give to us. We are owed back $320. I kept asking them to agree to refund the money within eight weeks, which my fiance and I agreed was reasonable. They refused to agree to any date. It was just a horrible conversation, that went nowhere, and I am at the point where all future contact with them will have to be in writing.
  
  As far as providing wedding day services, I cannot evaluate their performance, but I do think they are reliable and would do a good job. But good luck if you end up needing to cancel in the agreed amount of time. You'll need it. We sure do.

  So we booked Eric Zimmerman as our wedding dj, mc and love jazz and classical band. After meeting him 6 months before our wedding we hired him on the spot, and put a deposit; wrong decision. 6 weeks before our wedding I am sending constant and weekly emails about reviewing an update on our wedding music update ie, music he will be playing, genre we want him to play during reception and our first dance. He did not respond until 4 days before our wedding. Upset and disappointment. As a backup we inquired djs incase he decided not to. His reason was he was busy with other performances. He not only didn't respond but only did so when we asked for our deposit back. He promised our wedding would go as we wanted with no issues. He also said he would do everything we wanted for music. He showed up in our home a few days before the wedding and blew up our phones. We should of just hired someone else. During DJ session he played music which my guest counselor dance to.
