If you are looking to upgrade your event, look no further. We hired them for lighting & design and were super pleased with the execution. With all of my last minute requests, they accommodated them with ease and everything turned out wonderfully. The lighting really elevated the space & experience.

I’m so glad we made the decision to hire a lighting designer - what a difference it made in all of the photo & video we received! They took my vision for setting the mood and creating a different look between the ceremony and reception space - not to mention providing an awesome custom dance floor & drapery. EEL was amazing to work with from beginning to end! They previous worked with our venue, The Morton Arboretum before so they shared some ideas to us prior to booking with them. A Whimsical Dream Wedding

Wow! Where do I even begin.... When I first thought of the idea of a DIY wedding in my Godmother's back yard full of numerous heartfelt memories, I knew it would take planning, effort, and determination. I pinned on Pinterest for days, weeks, months, and finally came up with a dream vision for the ceremony and tent! I did my research with my now husband, and found Elegant Event Lighting. Being out of state planning a wedding, WE knew it would take more effort. Well, we were wrong! Jay and his team at EEL made our vision come to life even across the states. We had one meeting face to face to go over pictures, ideas, and a plan to make our dream wedding come to life, and his team really put it in action! Jay remained in constant communication with us from Arizona to Illinois. He not only had a positive attitude but made our wedding feel special and unique! He was determined to do what it takes to make all of our doubts diminish! The day of came and just WOW!!!! All of the effort his team put in, came to life in the perfect picture of our vision! We had an unexpected down pour right before the ceremony, but the lights held up and looked even more romantic then expected! The ambiance in the tent was just gorgeous and the chandelier above the dance floor! Our guests still compliment how beautiful it was... Now, don't even get us started on the ceremony 4 pole arch.

We knew doing a unique "backyard wedding," that Darlene wanted the spectacular wedding feel! She also knew that she didn't want what any other venue had.... After numerous conversations, Jay brought her whimsical ceremony to life! We had a beautiful ivory ceremony arch/back drop with greenery! How romantic! We got to marry (the love of our life) under the most drop dead gorgeous setting. Jay and the Elegant Event Lighting Team, your effort (even with the last minute changes due to weather) really put ourselves at ease! We knew we were in great hands and could enjoy the day from sunrise till the party ended past 1 a.m... We will continue to recommend you to anyone that wants their unique wedding vision to come to life!

Thanks again for making us feel special and that our wedding was unique and not just any wedding.

We will never forget the love we felt that day. We still feel it on our picture wall in our living room, looking at the gorgeous memories that were made in the most beautiful tent and most elegant ceremony arch.

Elegance Is The Object of the Game

Our wedding would not have been the same if it weren’t for Elegant Event Lighting. Jay was the person in charge of our event and from the consultation call to execution of event on the day of the wedding, he was just top notch! I loved that their company had previously worked at our venue, making him more knowledgeable of what he can and cannot do to the ballroom, eliminating the back and forth between the venue and the décor company. He helped me stay within my budget and still achieve the look I had in mind. To be honest, they actually went above my expectations! Our venue was already beautiful, they simply elevated it to be more romantic, giving us and our guests that WOW factor we are looking to have as soon as you walk in the room. And when we started having technical difficulties with our DJ company, Jay was quick to jump in and offer his expertise with audio and visual. He certainly saved the day!! I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for décor and lighting company. They will make your event even better than you imagined it to be!

Such a beautiful touch to our day!

I am so happy we went with EEL! The lighting really took the room to another level. Our reception was at Maggiano's and I was so worried about it just looking like the restaurant. We did lighting on the dance floor, pin point lighting on our centerpieces, and our names on the wall. I was so excited to see how beautifully it turned out. It made our pictures turn out stunning (we don't have professional pics back yet, but the ones friends and family took). Jay was so easy to work with and so helpful giving suggestions on what would make the room special!

Wedding 2019

Elegant Event Lighting came through HUGE!!. They made the backdrop of our day fabulous with there lighting, white acrylic dance floor, Monogrammed floor and etc.... They were very helpful every step of the way and answered all questions in a timely format. Highly suggest this company.

Twinkle light draped backdrop

Beautiful product, great staff

EEL was great to work with and their ‘final product’ was BEAUTIFUL. We worked with Jay (sales) and Katie (production) and they were both professional and efficient – Jay worked with our budget and even helped with a last minute addition which definitely made our wedding ceremony elegant and everything I wanted. Katie worked with my event planner, but I heard no complaints from either. Definitely recommend them.

We loved their work

We had our wedding lighting and floor decal decoration done with them and it turned out beautiful. Everyone loved our dance floor decal -please see picture. Very easy to work with, they made the process painless. Highly recommend for your wedding.

EEL is the best!

Valerie and the team did an absolutely amazing job! Working with them was such an easy process. After just a handful of emails back and forth, everything was set up. I got married at Crystal Tree Golf and Country Club and I asked them to create a ceiling canopy with drapes and lights over the dance floor. I also specified that I wanted the current window drapes at the venue to be covered in white drapes but to leave the windows themselves uncovered to let all the light through. I was completely blown away on the day of! It was everything I had imagined and more. So many of our guests were commenting on how beautiful the drapes and lights looked. Even the venue staff were saying that the room had never looked more beautiful.

EEL was fantastic! We decided last minute to to put down a vinyl dance floor and string cafe lights from the tent ceiling and they were so helpful in working with our budget! EEL was wonderful to work with. Staff openly communicated with me when I had questions and were extremely professional. I appreciated the reassurance that was provided and trusted them completely. The end result was spectacular! We decided to add Cafe Globe Lights to our venue to brighten it up a bit and we were not disappointed! The extra lighting provided the added sparkle and looked beautiful. It totally transformed the space. Not only was did EEL provide great service but the end result was gorgeous. I received a huge quote from a competing company. I sent the same request to EEL and they could do what I wanted even bigger, and better for $1k less.

While working with EEL I think I sent a total of 4 emails, and talked on the phone once, and they made my fairytale backdrop even better than I could ever have imagined. They reached out to my banquet hall and worked directly with them on all logistics. I have no idea when it arrived or got picked up, or any of the details I didn't need to know because they took care of it all. I literally told them what I had in mind and then they took care of the rest.

They turned my dated banquet hall into the MOST BEAUTIFUL fairytale and I can not say enough how grateful I am for them!!

EEL was absolutely wonderful. We needed drapery because our ceremony was in the same space as our reception. Jay and his team were extremely responsive and from our research, the were the best value for our needs. The drapery was absolutely beautiful and they took it down in less than 15 minutes during cocktail hour-EEL staff were so efficient and wonderful. We are so happy we found them!

They did a great job at my wedding! They turned a dark patio into a charming area to get some fresh air by hanging beautiful cafe lights. Valerie was super professional. She was very prompt in responding to me and quick to answer any questions I had. Throughout the entire process of requesting a quote and days beyond the wedding, there has been zero issues with them as my vendor. She was able to create the vision I wanted via pictures I sent of Pinterest ideas. The lighted backdrop was such a beautiful touch to my wedding reception. I highly recommend them. We worked with Jay and his team for our wedding at Chez. They did an amazing job, and I cannot compliment them enough on their work. We spoke briefly and I provided them a very rough sketch of my vision for the wedding day. And they took that and brought it to life. The pipe and drape and the chandeliers they provided were so beautiful. Also, I believe a few days before the wedding, I emailed Jay asking for a specific request last minute. Elegant Events Lighting made the ambience of our wedding reception magical! They installed ivory draping and amber uplighting in the main room, and cafe lighting over the patio. The draping was beautifully done to frame the room entrances. The warm lighting also made all the difference to add an intimate and sophisticated atmosphere. All set-up was completely finished before we arrived, and tear-down was also taken care of by the company. We are so happy with the professional service provided by Elegant Events!

Jay was great and our lighting looked amazing! We hired Jay to install cafe string lights on the wood rafters on the ceiling of our reception venue and amber uplighting along the brick wall on the lower level. Both looked beautiful and complemented the natural interest of the space. We didn't have much coordinating to do with Jay at all, jut gave him the date, location and time! He was very knowledgeable with what was to be done and how to do it, which really put me at ease.

Jay and his team were great. The room looked breathtaking. Guests who have been at Bobaks before thought that we had the best room just because of how it looked. The Edison light backdrop was stunning and they also installed chandeliers at the gazebo. We got beautiful pictures.

Jay and Valerie from EEL were a delight to work with! From the very beginning, we wanted an elegant, seamless monogrammed white dance floor for our wedding and we extended our search outside of Michigan because we couldn't find anyone local. Elegant Event Lighting is top notch!! We had a consultation with Jay out at their showroom - it's a really cool space. Jay listened to everything we wanted for our event space and then created the perfect concept! We got full draping and uplighting for our reception room, and it totally transformed the space for the better - it didn't even look like the same room! I found Jay very easy to work with and professional. He knew our venue, so I trusted his advice and appreciated that he didn't try to "over-sell" me when asking his recommendations. We used EEL's draping and lighting services. The draping was beautiful and lighting added a special touch that enhanced our event. I would use EEL again in a heart beat. PS - Jay also owns Something 2 Dance 2 and is an excellent DJ too.

Elegant Event Lighting was so great to work with! Everything from the draping to the arch to the chandeliers I was completely taken back. I had an idea of what it would all look like once it came together and it looked even better than I could imagine. It was breathtaking! They essentially took a bare bones venue and made it look like a fairy tale!

I made a couple last minute changes to our arch and they were happy to work with me on the modifications. It was the most beautiful arch and draping I have ever seen! It was so soft and romantic and you could just see the amount of effort and attention to detail that was put into creating our image. The lighting, draping, chandeliers was better than I even pictured and set the perfect scene for our special day!

I was utterly obsessed with all of their work and I can't wait to get professional pictures! I did a lot of research on companies in the area that do lighting/draping/fixtures and they are the most reasonable price-wise, and offer great advice and suggestions on how to execute all of your visions. Jay and the entire team at EEL is so flexible and easy to work with! I highly recommend trusting them with whatever special event it may be!

Elegant Event Lighting completely transformed Venuti's Volare ballroom into exactly what we envisioned! As a matter of fact it exceeded our expectations. EEL provided us with a gorgeous ceiling to floor - wall to wall back drop with soft white uplighting , a white stage and stair cover, with soft white uplighting to illuminate the walls along both of the side aisles. My wife said she literally felt like she just entered Heaven when the doors opened and walked the aisle with her Father! The service and timely responses we received throughout the entire wedding planning process greatly appreciated . We hired Loudbyte Cinematography (Award Winning Films - Example: http://www.honeyandbride.com/jewish-peninsula-hotel-wedding/ ) for a documentary and EEL's work will be featured in our custom Wedding film which will be released within the next 6-8 months. Wish we were able to leave photos on this review for anyone interested in Venuti's as a Venue and EEL for décor.

EEL created a gorgeous back drop for my wedding ceremony and reception at the Park Hyatt Chicago. The event space was very plain and had a conference room feel but EEL dressed it up with full pipe and draping, a beautiful chandelier and aisle runner. I couldn't have been happier with their work. They also handled the up-lighting and patterned dance floor lighting for the reception. They did a great job! We received compliments all night. Working with Kristen and Jay was effortless and they were very professional. I thought the pricing was very reasonable as well. I would highly recommend using EEL!

I just recently worked with Elegant Event Lighting to cover my dance floor. I actually found this vendor online after my wedding planner and decor company sent me price quotes that were just insane. They were so easy to work with, their prices were far and away better then what I had been quoted by my big decor company. The dance floor looked great and held up throughout the whole evening!

We loved working with Elegant Event Lighting! Our venue was pretty bland and essentially all one color so having uplights and a lighting mural on the wall was awesome. We absolutely loved the end result and it truly made a difference in the vibe for the whole entire reception.

We had the most wonderful day and I cannot begin to thank you enough for making my vision come to life. To be honest, the decor looked even better than my ultimate vision - thanks to you and your team! When we all saw inside the tent for the first time it was hard to believe we were in a tent it felt more like a ballroom.

Nobody had ever seen that many chandeliers or the floral print lighting on a tent which was stunning. I absolutely loved the huge custom monogrammed dance floor and I asked our wedding planner to wipe off some of the smudges from my friends dancing like fools. I didn't want anyone to ruin it. I wish I could have taken home the dance floor but it was the size of our entire apartment.

Although it was extra money I didn't budget for I am SO happy we used EEL on our wedding day! We had a fabric arch done for our ceremony and paper lanterns hung above our dance floor that really made our wedding day PERFECT. I wish we could have done more with EEL but it was expensive in my opinion but definitely worth every penny. Jay and the whole staff at EEL are amazing and you really get what you pay for, professional and STUNNING work! SO HAPPY WITH EEL!!!

I was so blown away with what Jay did. Almsot everyone at my Husband and I's Wedding said it was the most beautiful Wedding they had ever attended. We opted for the white dance floor, uplighting and had the outside decorated with fabrics. Honestly, simple, classy and stunning.

We are older and working professionals. Picky is an understatement. My Husband and I interviewed a lot of vendors. Jay, you amazed us. Thanks!

I am so happy we decided to go with Elegant Event Lighting as a vendor for my wedding day. The reception décor and draping were absolutely beautiful! It was everything I envisioned and more!! My guests are still talking about it! The staff was professional and was able to answer all my questions without hesitation and that was satisfying to my husband and I. I couldn't have chosen a better decorator to beautify my venue and light up the faces of my guests.
I would recommend this vendor hands down. You won't be disappointed!

Our reception looked amazing thanks to the EEL team. Everyone talked to us about how the backdrop looked amazing and that they loved the lighting design on the ceiling. The decor classed up an already classy room. Highly recommended.

Having had a fantastic experience with Elegant Event Lighting two years ago, we called on Jay and his team once again for our daughter’s wedding at the Chicago Botanic Gardens in September. Katy and Steve's wedding theme was Organic, Natural, Woodsy and featured birch, branches, succulents and beautifully detailed centerpieces with lake colored bottles filled with white flowers.To complete the picture, they envisioned Grapevine Balls complete with small white lights wound through them, in clusters suspended from the ceiling. We met with Jay at the Gardens and discussed also lighting the dance floor, the 18’ long Sweet Table and all the Brick Columns as well. Katy’s details were stunning and Jay’s ELEGANT lighting made the reception glow like a fairy tale!It was a magical setting!
Jay is one of the NICEST guys you will ever meet! He is a gem and so easy to work with as are the rest of his team. Calling in to the office and talking to Ashley felt like I was calling a good friend. We were again blown away by their expertise, quality, flexibility, imagination and creativity! You needn’t look anywhere else for your lighting for your event! Jay is the best! Thanks Jay!

WOW. When my husband and I saw our reception venue all decorated for our wedding day, we were stunned. We couldn't believe how beautiful everything looked and were shocked it was the same place. Jay and his team did a phenomenal job understanding our style and providing us with the best design to suit our budget. Everything came together beautifully and the café lights we decided on at the last minute were the perfect touch to our romantic, soft theme. I would recommend EEL to any bride wanting to add their personal touch to a wedding venue.

We used Elegant Lighting for our White Vinyl dance floor with Monogram and Lighting. We also added one additional service for our decorating purposes which were crystal decorations hung from our ceiling. Ashley was always amazing to speak to over the phone. The company was very professional and open to working with my suggestions. EEL took an ordinary plane looking room and helped transform it into the vision of my dreams.

Jay & his team were a pleasure to work with. I needed a company who could provide lighting and draping for our wedding and EEL was the perfect solution to my search. EEL was a great vendor to work with! I rented 5 chandeliers from them and they made such a difference to my decor! They were beautiful and romantic! My venue had annoyingly planned an event the same day as my wedding, only allowing 1 hour for full set up, but EEL was able to plan ahead and pre-wire the room earlier in the week to make setup move quickly. The whole issue really stressed me out, but EEL knew exactly what to do and it was seamless. Thank you!!

I was recommended to use EEL through my venue coordinator at Eaglewood Resort. They did an amazing job with my requests and it all looked beautiful in the end! We recently used Elegant Event Lighting to add overhead lighting to the outdoor dining area at our chosen wedding venue, as well as, draping and lighting to our indoor space. They did a splendid job. Everything looked even better than we imagined . Elegant Event Lighting was prompt at set up and take down.
From our first meeting, Jay and Ashley proved Elegant Event Lighting was a professional, quality organization. Jay made a clear presentation of the company’s capabilities via video screenings and a display room of draping and lighting examples. Their abilities are endless. Most of all, tho, I appreciated they did not attempt a hard sell effort to get us to upgrade or add more expensive features to our plan. They accepted our vision and worked with us to achieve that. Jay and Ashley from EEL were a breeze to work with! They were both super responsive the whole year I had them booked and very open and patient with all of the questions I had. I never had to worry about them or follow up with them as they were always a step ahead of me. This was probably the easiest part of my wedding to plan. I had ordered the drapery from the center of the ceiling with string lights. Not only did it completely change the look and feel of the room to something elegant and romantic, but it was one of those things I didn't have to organize, plan, arrange, or worry about- I just got there on the night of the reception and it looked fantastic! Jay and his team transformed a church hall into a simple, special, and elegant space for our wedding reception. The ivory drape created the perfect backdrop for the celebration and the lighting elements gave it the necessary warmth and glow. It was perfect in every way.

Ashley and Jay were amazing! I called a couple weeks before my wedding because I saw a picture of a wedding with lighting and knew I had to have it but I had a budget to keep as well. Based on the reviews I called EEL and spoke to Ashley. She asked what I was looking for and with the wedding stress I couldn't communicate clearly (lol) but she helped me figure it out and transferred me to Jay. Within a few minutes Jay assed my budget and my needs and set me up with a package that would suit my location and budget.It was easy peasy and fabulous!!!

I was absolutely blown away by Jay and his team. They were able to transform a boring room into the most glamorous winter white wedding I could have ever envisioned. The entire hotel staff was even coming by to take pictures of the transformation. My ceremony was late in the evening and Jay and his team had one hour to "break down" the ceremony and move everything into the reception area. This was done flawlessly! The decor and lighting were just perfection. On top of it, the communication with EEL was so professional. You can not go wrong with choosing them!

We couldn't have been more pleased with how everything turned out, from the perfect placement of the pin-spots, to the purple lining on the head table, and the up-lighting too. The drapery really had the "wow" factor when you walked into the room and everyone was raving about how elegant the room was. We really couldn't have done it without jay's expertise and execution. We used Jay and his team for our wedding at Morton Arboretum. We first contacted him to get lighting for the reception inside, and then we found out that he could also provide us with a chuppah for the outside ceremony. I think both of these two things made our wedding one of the most beautiful weddings ive ever been to. The Chuppah they made was exactly what we had found online and told him to model it after, and the lighting inside the room was spectacular! He transformed the cafeteria of our venue into a magical beautiful wedding space. I'm so glad that we found him and had him take care of our wedding.

The lighting was awesome! It made my wedding video and pictures in both the ceremony and the reception that much better. If I could get married all over again and had the additional budget to do so, I would have added more of their services. The best thing for me was their flexibility of moving the backdrop from the upstairs ballroom to the reception ballroom downstairs and their punctuality of doing so. Great work!

STUNNING fabric arch with lit chandelier! The hanging crystals on the sides we also beautiful! These guys were soooo easy to work with. Especially since they did not know if my ceremony would be indoors or outside till the morning of! They didn't ask any questions or bother me the morning of, just did their work and OMG was it gorgeous!! Everyone was blown away with how "whimsical" it looked! <3 I was sooo happy! So beautiful! Jay & Ashley from EEL were nothing short of amazing to work with. Not only did they provide lighting and decor for our entire venue but they also created two video montages for us. I had an incredibly specific vision about how the montage would play during the ceremony procession, down to when I wanted a specific picture to play (crazy, I know). But as crazy as it was Jay and Ashley knew how important it was to me and they made it happen. It was so spectacular that by the time my father and I walked in the room everyone was so overwhelmed that they erupted in to applause. It was a moment that I will never forget!!!

After booking our DJ with Something 2 Dance 2, their sister company. We were looking over information from a brochure that was given to us. Communication with Tamara and Jay were always prompt, never waiting long for information we were curious to know! We decided on a monogram light on our dance floor and some uplighting around the room to give our wedding a little more personal touch. After meeting with Jay for our DJ and lighting plans a month before the wedding, we reviewed what I had wanted from email communication and he was able to show us lighting effects in their showroom. Seeing the effects and color solidified our decision. We changed uplighting from teal to amber to give our room a more romantic feel and to not flood our room with our wedding color. Jay came up with a monogram and we were able to modify it to our liking. We wanted a special twinkle light backdrop for our head table and it did not disappoint!! IT was exactly how I imagined it in my head. During our meeting, Jay showed us how pin lighting would look on our cake and our special travel centerpieces. We also added that last minute too! Wedding day came and we snuck in the ballroom before everyone entered to see the magic come to life!! IT was beautiful and breathtaking. I still remember it clearly in my head. Backdrop perfect, lighting around the room, soft and romantic. Everyone complimenting our cake and topper, and most likely just because it was lit up! Thanks to Jay and the team at Elegant Event Lighting for an amazing setting for our wedding!

We hired EEL after sending out a few 'feeler' emails to a couple different companies. They were the first to respond with a thorough description of what they offered, costs, availability, EVERYTHING! It was so easy to work with them. I actually never was able to meet with them in advance, so we did everything via email.

On the day of the wedding, I was running around like a crazy person. The one thing I did remember seeing during set up was about 4 EEL employees meticulously draping this beautiful, gauzy fabric. It was very time and labor intensive, but before I knew it, they were all done and the room looked phenomenal. They were very professional, easy to work with, and gave us exactly what we want at a good price.

I loved everything they did for us, and would not hesitate to recommend them for their services.

My venue, Centered Chef in Chicago, had huge windows and was a blank loft space canvas. I tried for months to find a company to provide me with pipe and drape for the altar space I'd envisioned. You would be amazed to find out how much some companies want you to pay to have some sheers hung! I was feeling so discouraged, like the altar I'd envisioned wouldn't be a reality because it was WAY out of my budget. In comes Elegant Event Lighting and my wedding was complete! They were great to work with, responded to me in a timely manner, seemed to honestly value my business and (best of all) were SO REASONABLY PRICED! I was actually a little nervous about what we were going to get because the price was leaps and bounds less than what other companies were asking for the same thing. I was able to see their work at the rehearsal and I was floored. It was beautiful and more than what I'd envisioned. It transformed the space and was so worth all the work it took to find this amazing company. They came to strike the pipe and drape on time (which made the venue happy). We really couldn't be happier with what we got and I would (and have) recommend this company to anyone looking for pipe and drape for their wedding or event. We were so impressed.

EEL made our fairytale wedding look more magical than ever! I provided Jay with a picture of a design that struck my eye for a headtable backdrop & he and his crew made it happen & then some! When we walked into the room to see their creation I was speechless.......
The ivory backdrop design was constructed to perfection & was everything I had imagined...During our meetings with Jay it was apparent that I was all about the "bling" for our reception & so it was such a fabulous surprise to see the added rhinestone cuffs that gathered the material of each section of the backdrop...Also we had a monogram "M" to be shined in the middle of the backdrop & Jay went above and beyond to match the very exact same font as the "M" on our invitation... Talk about personalization! That is what EEL is all about! The management & staff at our venue raved about how the decor/lighting just "made" the room...It certainly did & it also made our wedding reception & photos lasting memories...Everytime I look at a picture of the decor/lighting it puts a big smile on my face :)

We hired EEL for our 9/7/2013 wedding at the Art Institute of Chicago. Jay and his team were simply fantastic! Creative, but also so professional and responsive. A rare combo in the event planning world. They did a very complex custom dance floor and executed it flawlessly in a tight time frame. The lights were also amazing and set the mood perfectly. We received so many complements on the decor...our guests were just wowed! We just loved working with EEL and the final product! I would highly recommend you to anyone having an event! Great value and service to the extreme!

I HIGHLY recommend Elegant Event Lighting!! Jay was extremely easy to work with; he was accessible , friendly, patient, creative, reassuring,and just a pleasure. My daughter's wedding was in our garden and the reception was at the Kenilworth Club. Jay and Tracy and Erin created a beautiful effect with hanging Mason Jars with Candles and Cafe Lights strung artfully across the ceiling. It meshed perfectly with her rustic theme of wildflowers, burlap,branches, ivory silk ribbon, hydrangeas, and smaller mason jars all over the club.Everyone was enchanted and many, many guests commented about the lighting to me and our family.Thank you Jay! We will definitely be using Elegant Event Lighting for our future weddings!

Jay at Elegant Event Lighting provided the most elaborate draped backdrop for our wedding! The backdrop made the room look so regal! The team also set up pin spotting on our tall centerpieces and cake. The room was glowing with beauty after the Lighting team was through. Jay was also very easy to work with, he was able to suggest what would look great but design around what we wanted. Right before the wedding, the venue decided to throw this huge cost at us for using their electricity, Jay was able to devise a plan to save us money but appease the hotel as well. I am so thankful we used Elegant Event Lighting for the final details of our wedding! The room was gorgeous!

My ceremony/reception was at Meridian Banquets. The ceremony room isn't very pretty, so I tried to figure out ways to make it better. I googled wedding drapes and came across Jay Sims at Elegant Event Lighting. We emailed back a forth a few times while I tried to figure out my budget. He explained how he could dress up the room for my preliminary budget... drapes on the back wall, uplighting, stage cover and aisle runner. I made an appointment a few months later when I finally figured out my set budget (nearly double what my preliminary budget was). We added on lighted pedestals and pin spots for the ceremony room and draping and uplighting for behind the head table in the reception hall. The pictures on the website definitely don't do EEL justice. My rooms were stunning! Family that came to our rehearsal kept telling me how much different/amazing the ceremony room looked with the draping. I only ended up spending around $2,200 which was amazing for all of the stuff that I got.

Call Jay and make an unattractive room STUNNING!!!

Thank you so much for making my Daughter’s wedding vision come true. Jay, while you may not be David Tuatara you came very close to it if not better. My daughter, her groom, and our guest were so amazed at the beauty of the Ceremony site for the Wedding it brought tears to my eyes, and the Backdrop and up lighting for the Reception was Fantastic! I knew we discussed the Type of Backdrop and the color of the Up lighting, but the beauty of it was far more than we expected. You promised me it would be gorgeous, it was beyond gorgeous! It truly looked light something out of a magazine and my daughter said it was everything she had hoped for.

Elegant Event Lighting was an absolute pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend their services to any couple looking to add a little something extra to their reception room. My husband and I decided at the last minute that we wanted a fabric backdrop and uplighting for our wedding. After reading all the positive reviews we contacted Elegant Event Lighting. We had a quote very quickly, and a contract signed in a day. They were very professional to work with, and the day of our wedding everything was set up and ready to go without any issues. Lighting truly makes a difference in the feel of the reception room and your photos. Elegant event lighting transformed the ballroom to a gorgeous elegant and romantic feel with our purple uplights, dance floor lit monogram and the draping of the doors leading into the room. Jay was easy to work with and the value couldn't be beat. Well worth it the cost!

Jay and his crew were responsible for the lighting for my daughter's wedding ceremony and reception. From planning to execution they did a wonderful job. They worked closely with the florist and the Drury Lane staff and the outcome was truly beautiful. We couldn't have been more pleased I would highly recommend Elegant Event Lighting.

Elegant Event Lighting absolutely made my wedding beautiful. They provided lighting and decor for both my ceremony and reception. Because the ceremony and reception were in the same location, EEL was able to make the room look like two completely different settings. All of our guests just loved our decor.

Jay and Tamara were wonderful to work with and very attentive and flexible with our wishes and needs. I would recommend EEL to anyone that wants to add something special to their wedding!

For our wedding we needed a BIG venue due to the immense number of guests(650) so we ended up reserving Exhibition Hall West Wing at Kane County Fair Grounds. Before EEL did its magic it just looked like a big storage garage. EEL transformed the place and it looked completely different. They gave it the sense of elegance it needed. I was amazed when I saw how wonderful and different it looked. I couldn't be any happier with the work they did. Everyone complemented me on the decor! EEL staff was very helpful, friendly, flexible, and responsible. Definitely a great experience! I will use their services again in the future without a doubt!

We used EEL for 2 things - a white dance floor cover and some drapery to cover the windows. The white dance floor looked amazing! It really made the white tent that we had our reception in look even better. The drapery was used to cover some doors that guests could not exit out of and EEL did a fantastic job! The doors were in the middle of the tent and you could not even tell there were doors there; the drapery fit in perfectly with the tent draping. I worked with Jay to get all of the contract details worked out and he was very friendly and attentive. When he was out of the office I received prompt responses from David and he seemed very knowledgeable on our contract. We would definitely recommend EEL!

Everyone at the wedding is still talking about the transformation of the ceremony tent and the reception hall and how unique the lighting was and the amazing dance floor!! We had EEL provide the backdrop for the ceremony and reception in addition to an extra wide aisle runner. From the very beginning process of getting quotes and trying to figure out what we wanted vs. what we could afford, Jay at EEL was terrific. He was very quick to respond to all requests. The day of the wedding the crew were great - very professional and extremely flexible in offering last minute changes to the room setup to make it look more intimate. Would highly recommend this company.

It was a last minute decision to add uplighting to my daughters wedding. It was one of the best decisions we made. I hired Elegant Event Lighting for my July wedding at the Ivy Room. Jay was a pleasure to work with and helped make my vague vision for the lighting at my wedding become a reality. When thinking about the overall design and aesthetic, I knew that I wanted it to feel romantic and intimate for our 85 guests. After choosing beautiful centerpieces with Dilly Lily filled filled with hydrangeas, roses, and peonies, my then-fiance and I decided to shop around for lighting vendors. After talking to a few lighting firms, we hired Jay and Elegant Event. As soon as I described my vision of the romantic and intimate setting, along with our flower arrangements, he worked with us to create soft amber up-lighting and an ivy pattern on the walls to accent the space, along with iron lanterns suspended above the tables to create an intimate and ethereal environment for my guests. The room looked absolutely beautiful the day of the wedding, and all of my guests are still talking about how beautiful the décor and lanterns were. I highly recommend Jay and Elegant Events to any future brides!

I was not 100% on board with having uplighting and ceiling swag for our wedding, but my mom finally convinced me it would look nice in our relatively minimalistic, open venue space. Jay at Elegant Event was extremely helpful and professional from the start -- he knew the venue well and was able to make recommendations as well as accomodate for what I wanted. We went with purple uplighting, and It was extremely important for me that the lights were not pink at all (more blue than purple) -- it seems so picky, but Jay and his team gave us exactly what we had asked for! We also had them do ceiling draping, with 3-4 bolts of fabric draped from the center of ceiling out across the room. It looked absolutely beautiful -- I think that was the finishing touch on our space! I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for lighting or decor at reasonable prices!

Absolutely love Elegant event lighting. My wedding was at Fultons on the River. Jay and company did a beautiful job uplighting and draping the room for our reception. They also decorated and designed a canopy for us to marry under. From the beginning to the end they were very helpful in planning my perfect day. The rooms were breathtaking. There isn't one negative thing I can say about the company and all the people behind it. AMAZING!!!
