Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish!!!

Athina styled my hair for my wedding and did an absolutely phenomenal job. She walked me through the whole process seamlessly, from discussing styles and sharing inspiration pictures beforehand to bringing extra products and options for accessories the day of. She worked with my natural curls/waves, which was important to me. I think most brides get decision fatigue by the time they reach their wedding day, and as a particularly indecisive bride, I felt that Athina made it easy to communicate the style that I wanted without knowing anything about hair or being bogged down with details- she really took care of everything meticulously. I could not have asked for a better hairstyle for the wedding or better company getting ready before it!

The Dynamic Duo

Elana and Monika were the dynamic duo! They worked together so seamlessly the day of our vow renewal. They are professional, experienced, and so pleasant to work with.

On the day of my trial, I described my hair style to Monika, and she was able to visualize what I wanted and recreated it exactly like I imagined, if not better. Elana also created a beautiful look, which brought tears of joy when I first saw my finished makeup in the mirror. She color matched my airbrush make-up perfectly to my skin tone and matched the right lashes and makeup style to the look I was going for, as well.

On the day of our event, both ladies finished in good time. Their positive energy filled the room, which helped create a very calm and peaceful morning before the big event. My hair and makeup stayed in place all day and all night, and even until the next morning! I woke up, feeling like a movie star! :)

Thank you for everything. I could not imagine doing what you do. You both are true artists with a skill set I would not be able to attempt.

Gave us one less thing to worry about

Excellent experience overall. Anthony was very professional, attentive, and clearly skilled at what he does. He took the time to understand exactly what I wanted for the wedding and delivered a clean, sharp cut that held up perfectly throughout the day and in photos. While Anthony took care of me, Elena and Athina handled the girls’ hair and makeup, and they were just as talented and professional. Having a bundle where all were extremely competent made the entire process easy and stress-free. Anthony has since become my regular barber, and I would highly recommend them both.

Recital Makeup Lesson

Elana is one of a kind!! I scheduled a makeup lesson with Elana to learn techniques on how to apply stage makeup on my 8 year old for her first dance recital. Her home studio is welcoming, spacious and full of natural light! As we began, she was able to find the perfect foundation match quickly and walked me through everything, step by step. She answered all of my questions and was above and beyond patient with me. The care and dedication she showed during the appointment is unmatched. Elana made the process sweet and fun for my daughter and productive for me at the same time! She is a ray of sunshine inside and out!!! I left the appointment feeling confident! Could not recommend more!

I've been getting by hair done by Athina for year, and she’s consistently done an amazing job with my hair. She always listens to what I'm looking for (even when I’m indecisive and vague!) and seems to know how to make it work. Every cut and style has turned out great, and I always leave feeling good about how I look.

What I appreciate most is that she’s friendly and easy to talk to, which makes the whole experience enjoyable rather than just another errand. Athina is reliable and I look forward to getting my hair done with her. Given the opportunity, I wouldn’t go to anyone else.

Perfection!

Elana is amazing. I was very nervous to get makeup done for my wedding, since I've gotten makeup professionally done in the past and never loved it. Friendly, fun, professional, and incredible at their jobs. Elana and her team made me, all my bridesmaids, and mothers look beautiful!! They are also so accommodating. They all make you look perfect! POV You're a wedding coordinator

I am a wedding coordinator who recently worked with Elana Darrus for a wedding. As a coordinator, you never really know what to expect when it comes to hair and makeup. They're typically the first vendors on site for the day, and so much of the schedule depends on the timing of their services. I have gotten used to arriving on site for the day and having to rearrange the schedule based on what the hair and makeup progress is. No big deal. Understandable. But when I walked in on Athina and Vesna with the bridesmaid, not only were they ahead of schedule, but every single woman's hair and makeup looked absolutely flawless. I would have believed they were all going to the Oscars. This was a fun bunch of ladies, and throughout the night they had their fair share of alcohol and were dancing endlessly-mind you this was a toasty summer day. While not every woman was able to walk a straight line by the end of the night, every single one of them looked flawless-hair and makeup still perfectly in place. I don't know what magic Athina and Vesna used, but I was sincerely impressed. They were also polite, friendly, and professional. 100% will be recommending them in the future. Thanks, ladies!!!

Elana and her team were nothing short of a gift on our wedding day. During our trial, Elana & Kim took the time to ensure I was comfortable with each step of the process, allowing for my input and tweaks to find the perfect look. When the big day rolled around the team was incredibly efficient with the large group (12) of women getting services, and everyone was incredibly kind, accommodating, and eager to ensure each of my girls was thrilled with their final look. Elana, Athina, and the rest of the team were so great to work with! We had such a relaxed morning because they were so on top of everything and we had the greatest time getting ready as a bridal party. Everyone LOVED their hair and make-up and the whole team was great about taking vague pictures / thoughts from many of us who don't wear make-up frequently to create a look that felt like the best version of us for the day. Doing the trial was so helpful to make some small tweaks for the day of! Cannot recommend EDWM&H enough to any brides looking! Incredibly reasonably priced for the bride and bridesmaids too!

Beautiful Hair That Never Budged

Working with Elana Darrus for our bridal hair was wonderful. They were very responsive during the whole process and pricing was very clear. We had Kristin and Maria who made everyone look stunning day of. Kristin did my hair (bride) and it did not budge once! I have seen so many brides whose hair by the end of the night has completely fallen out, and mine looked as good as if she had just done it, even through all the dancing. All requests during my trial were adhered to day-of and I felt like an absolute princess. Couldn't recommend enough!

Amazingly talented!

Elana and her team made my girls and I all feel so beautiful! They are extremely talented, prepared with all tools possible, and were able to be flexible depending on if people had picture inspiration or just wanted the artist's input. Beautiful Long-Lasting Hair & Makeup, Incredible People!

We had an amazing experience with Elana, Kristin, and Jessica! Elana did my bridal makeup and 3 other wedding party members, Jessica did makeup for 4 wedding party members, and Kristin did hair for me and 3 others. All three women are so talented and I am so happy I chose them!

The booking and trial process was very easy, Elana and her assistant Elizabeth are very communicative and answered all of my questions fully and promptly. They took my allergy concerns seriously and were very helpful with providing information about the products they use (all very high quality - I had no allergy issues with anything)! I also think they did a really good and fair/honest job of recommending the number of artists that would be needed for our group and timeline. At they trial, they took plenty of photos and notes of my final hair and makeup look, and updated the notes with the small changes I asked for after wearing the hair and makeup all day.

We got ready for our wedding in downtown Chicago on the same day that Chicago dyes the river green for St. Patrick's Day. Elana and her whole team were very prepared for the traffic it would cause and all arrived and got fully set up on time. They stayed completely on track with the hair and make up schedule they laid out ahead of time.

I felt the pricing for both the trial and the day of was very fair, and was in line with pricing I have seen for high-quality hair and makeup artists as a bridesmaid in other metro areas.

My final hair and makeup look was exactly what I wanted, and I am so happy we went with Elana and her team! Everyone in the party, even the moms that were nervous about having makeup done, were all super happy with their final looks. We all felt the team did a great job accurately bringing to life our reference photos and descriptions. I wanted to be sure to have makeup artists that could accurately match a wide array of skin tones and make each person feel like themselves but glammed up, and that is exactly what they did. All three artists also brought such a calm, respectful, and great vibe to the bridal suite.

I definitely recommend Elana & her team!

Perfection

Hiring Elana Darrus as my Hair and Makeup Team for my wedding was one of the best decisions I made in terms of wedding vendors. Elana, Kim (Hair), and Jessica (Makeup) could not have been more helpful, professional, or friendly, and I simply could not have been happier with how my hair and makeup turned out on my big day. I have never felt so beautiful, and a big reason for that is Kim and Jessica’s work! All the Bridesmaids looked absolutely gorgeous and everyone was so happy with their look. Both our makeup and our hair lasted the entire day, which is really impressive when you consider we were all on the dance floor the whole night! Best makeup I've ever had

Booking through Elana was a great experience. My trial run with Rachel went very well and when I modified my vision closer to the day of the wedding, Rachel did a really wonderful job switching gears. I could not have been happier with my wedding day makeup! It was the best make up application I've ever had and one of my bridesmaids immediately came up to me and said, "Michelle, she's good! I've never looked this beautiful!"

Dream Vendor

Sheesh, I don't even know where to begin. I guess I will say I am someone who is very picky with makeup, and I don't wear much to begin with on a daily basis. Elana was one of the only makeup artists I've ever worked with who began our trial with questions such as "how do YOU do your makeup if you are going out for the evening?" This meant so much to me that she cared about my preferences and not just getting the job done quickly & the way she would like. Aside from her kindness and warmth, Elana is an extremely talented artist who has a deep understanding of color, texture, and mixing formulas. Our entire process coordinating with her was extremely smooth and I highly recommend the rest of her team as well. The best team!

If you want to have a great time getting ready and be so happy when you look in the mirror, I highly recommend working with Elana, Athina, Sofia, and Vesna. You can’t beat the warm, personable nature of this team. I’m not much for doing my hair and makeup on a regular basis so all of this was out of my comfort zone, and as soon as I was at my trial I immediately felt at ease and knew I was in good hands. I felt like they truly cared about me and my big day, and that feeling was echoed by all of my bridesmaids. Athina even took the time to give my husband a nice “man-bun” and it stayed put the whole night. Truly I can’t say enough good things about this team. Thank you for beautifying us! Amazing team!

Elana Darrus was AMAZING! One of the best decisions I made for the wedding. From the trial to the actual day, it was perfection. Everyone was shocked when I showed them my trial photos because it looked so good for "just a trial". They listened to all my feedback from the trial and last second changes and made my hair and makeup exactly what I wanted. Literally everyone can't stop talking about how pretty everyone's hair and makeup were. We got married in Rockford, so they made the trip all the way up there at the crack of dawn and what I appreciated the most was they stayed on time because that helped start the day so smoothly and not stressful. Stunning Work ❤️

I have nothing but positive things to say about booking with Elana Darrus for my hair and makeup for my wedding! You are able to update or revise your contract at anytime and are not locked in because she really wants to make sure that you’re happy with your services before you commit! I thought this was AMAZING and it really goes to show how much Elana cares and wants her clients to be happy with the services provided! Elana’s communication from start to finish was consistent and timely. Any questions or concerns I had were answered extremely fast!
I worked with Kim R. for my hair and Samantha for my makeup. I could not have been happier with the work they did! Experience was so great, my sister already hired them as well!

I hired Elana Darrus for my wedding September 2021. From start to finish, it was a great experience. Elana was very responsive with emails when I initially reached out, as well as throughout the months leading up to the wedding. Something unique about Elana Darrus is that that a deposit is not required until after your makeup trial, which I feel makes more sense than before the trial. This allows the customer to ensure a good fit before booking a vendor for their wedding. This policy made me feel that this company is not just focused on money, but also on the customer and staff experience.
For my trial, Sarah came to my house equipped with a chair, a ring light, and all the makeup and supplies she could need. Sarah reviewed my inspiration pictures and talked with me about what I was looking for. She checked in throughout the process to ensure I was happy with what she was doing. Sarah also recommended lip products for me to purchase for the wedding day when I'd need to touch up my makeup. Sarah is very nice, personable, and great at making you look beautiful for your wedding day!
On my wedding day, Elana and Sarah arrived early so they could set-up and were finished ahead of schedule. They worked seamlessly and efficiently with myself, my 6 bridesmaids, and my mom and MIL. Elana and Sarah executed beautiful makeup for everyone and it all lasted for the entire day, even with a little bit of rain during our pictures. I requested airbrush makeup and it truly didn't feel like there was anything on my face, which was important to me as someone who wears minimal to no makeup daily.
Overall, we had a great experience- from communication, to service, to execution, durability, and affordability- we definitely recommend Elana Darrus.

Right from the start Elana made me feel like family. She was so warm, friendly, and kind. I instantly felt at ease with her. Elana was also so kind to my mom who was nervous about having her hair and makeup done. Elana listened to what my mom wanted and worked with my mom to get a look she was happy with. Working with Elana was wonderful. She was able to connect me with an amazing stylist and makeup artist. Elana made this process seamless. She, as well as the artist and stylist were extremely responsive and accommodating. I worked with Vesna (makeup) and Athena (hair) the day of my wedding and they were amazing. Very knowledgeable, talented, understood what I was looking for even though I didn’t have a super clear vision, and very accommodating. They were on time the day of my wedding and stayed to ensure myself and the bridesmaids were all set before photos. Excellent Experience

I had an excellent experience with Elana. She was extremely friendly and responsive to all messages. She personally reached out to see how I felt about my hair and make up trials as well as after the wedding itself. Elana was quite accommodating and helpful. My hair stylist, Kim, was incredible and replicated exactly what she did for the trial on my wedding day. She also did my sister's hair which was perfect and stayed up all night. My wedding day

I had the privilege to have these three lovely ladies help myself and my wedding party get ready on my special day. Stephanie, Vesna, and Athina. Truthfully, I could not have picked a better company to help us all get dolled.Elana coordinated everything and was extremely organized and friendly. I made about a thousand changes (because more and more people ended up wanted to get their hair and makeup done because they all saw my trial pictures) and Elana easily added more people onto the list to get their hair and makeup done. The schedule was perfectly planned out allowing us to have a nice and relaxing morning before the wedding but more importantly, we were all finished on time and everyone LOVED their results. Lastly, I just want to express how well Stephanie, Vesna, and Athina made our vision come to life. All of the women in my wedding party
are very natural and do not care for any crazy hair do or loud makeup. All three women listened and made us look natural and beautiful. Again I couldn’t have asked for a better company. They nailed everything out of the park and I am forever grateful.

Lifesavers!

At the last minute, I needed to find a hair stylist and makeup artist as my original hair/makeup person was exposed to COVID. My friend, who had worked with Elana and her team previously, highly recommended them. I was in a pinch as I was less than one week away from my wedding date, so I took a leap and booked Elana and didn't even do a trial! I sent Elana inspiration photos of the look I wanted to achieve and she was able to secure Athina for hair and Jessica for make up. Elana also reassured me that her team was taking COVID precautions and following safety guidelines. The day of the wedding Athina and Jessica showed up right on time and they did my hair and makeup as well as my mom's, MOH, SIL and aunt. Everyone looked STUNNING and the ladies were SO happy with how their hair and makeup turned out. I would highly recommend Elana and her team and I can't wait until my next event so they can glam me up again!

There is no one else we would work with!

I first worked with Elana for my wedding in 2012! I loved how my makeup and hair turned out! Since then I have recommended her, and her staff, to cousins, best friends, and now most recently- my sister! My little sister got married this October and we worked with Vesna from Elana's team. She did such an amazing job! My sister, my mom, and I looked so beautiful and she really listened to what we wanted. I really would not work with anyone else. Perfect Wedding Makeup!

Elana was recommended by my photographer, and I'm so happy I was able to work with her for my wedding! Elana did makeup and Stephanie did hair for my two bridesmaids, my mom and me, and it was all perfect. Elana was patient and helpful during my makeup trial when I was indecisive about lip color, and she worked with me to find an alternative to the strip eyelashes we used at the trial because I thought they were a bit too much. She used individual lashes instead and they turned out so well. I don't wear much makeup generally so wanted a natural but enhanced look and she nailed it. I didn't get hair done because mine is short, but Stephanie still helped pin my headband on. My mom's and bridesmaids' hair looked great! She listened to them and made their hair look exactly how they wanted it. We all felt beautiful and our makeup and hair lasted all night. They were both so sweet and easy to work with. I highly, highly recommend Elana!

Fabulous hair and makup

Searching for a hair and makeup stylist was one of my more difficult tasks. For me, it came down to accommodating an efficient schedule. I recently stood up in a wedding where four women (bride included) had hair/makeup and one child had hair done. She had one stylist, and we started at 9 o’clock for a 5 o’clock wedding. The wedding started late because the bride was still getting ready. I had three women (myself included) for hair/makeup and one child for hair. Due to the small size of my party, many salons would only send me one stylist too. I had to be ready by 1:00 to start getting my dress on. What time would we have to start?!

Elana Darrus was very accommodating and had no problem allowing me one makeup artist and one hairstylist. We started at 10 o’clock! It was affordable and we didn’t have any kind of upcharge for two stylists. My deciding factor may have been a practical one (and one you should definitely consider) but it turned out perfect!

Our stylists were Rachel and Mary Jo. My mom and I both did a makeup and hair trial (something I would recommend) and it was nice to meet the ladies beforehand. We tried false eyelashes to test if they would bother us. She had a lot of different types to choose from, very natural to very heavy. They took pictures so we were able to make tweaks on the wedding day.

I have fine, medium length hair so I spent a lot of time researching "fine" hair updos to adjust my expectations. I don’t know how she did it, but my hair exceeded my expectations! I had lots of oomph and the back looked very full - without any extensions! My eyelashes were perfect, just enough that men wouldn’t have a clue and women would wonder if they were real. The day went like clockwork. We were done a little early so we had time to rest before getting dressed. Our updos and makeup survived the entire summer day til the party was over. So happy with our hair and makeup!

I am so happy with how everyone's hair and makeup turned out for my wedding. Kelly was our hair stylist and Julia was our makeup artist, and everything came out perfectly. Not only that, but they were a ton of fun to have in our bridal suite all day while we were getting ready. The stylists were friendly, personable and talented, and Elana was very flexible, responsive, and easy to work with. Their rates were also much more reasonable than a lot of the other vendors I found in the area, without sacrificing any quality. I used Elana for makeup and Jessica M. for hair for myself and my 5 bridesmaids. I absolutely loved Elana's makeup - she kept it natural but made everyone's eyes pop for the photos. Whatever lashes she offered looked beautiful on everyone, so I would definitely recommend getting those. Elana also allowed me a second hair trial - I did a poor job of communicating what I wanted initially, and she matched me with a new hairstylist when I was better able to explain the look I was going for. Jessica did a beautiful job with my hair and with all of bridesmaids. I enjoyed working with both of them and would definitely recommend to any bride.

Elana recently did my bridal make-up for me, my bridesmaids and my mom, and she did an absolutely beautiful job! My make-up was perfect and I felt beautiful on my wedding day. Scheduling my makeup/hair trial with Elana and her team was super easy - I had my trial done by the hair and makeup artists (Pamela & Elizabeth) who would be there on my wedding day, which made me feel at ease since they would know exactly what would look good on me after the trial and there would be no hiccups on the day of my wedding. Throughout the planning process, Elana was very organized and would send me updated contracts throughout, showing me how many bridesmaids would be getting hair & makeup done (trust me...people change their minds a lot!) and the time slots they would have to make sure everyone would be done on time. Pamela did my hair as well as my 6 bridesmaids, and Elizabeth did my makeup and the bridesmaids + 1 of the moms helping out the day of. They made everyone look PHENOMENAL and they were SO speedy! We were done early, which was great because we had more time for pictures/relaxing before my photographer got there. I love how they come to you, wherever you and your bridesmaids want to get ready (we got ready in my hotel room). We had such a fun time all getting ready, it was very low-stress. I truly recommend them, they are great!

Elana and Mary Jo were a dream. There was no pressure for a hair trial, but I'm glad I did it. I thought I knew what I wanted but ended up changing my mind after my trial. The travel fee is completely reasonable, and Elana was so flexible to work with our timeline and even accepted some last-minute opt out's without any additional charge. All of the girls looked lovely, and it was a great way to start our day.

I had had my H&M done by a couple other stylists before coming across Elana and her team. The difference in the level of artistry was staggering. Not only did Elana and Dana listen to my requests, but they also brought such patience, calm and friendliness to the table. I know very little about H&M and feel slightly uncomfortable about the whole thing, but Elana and Dana made me feel beautiful and naturally radiant, i.e. exactly the way I wanted to feel on my wedding day. Kristina did my client’s makeup for her wedding this past Saturday. She did a wonderful job. In particular, the bride’s eye makeup was stunning and it was very similar to a picture the bride had previously selected to be imitated. Kristina did a wonderful job using airbrush and also applied false eyelashes. I was impressed with how careful she was to ensure the bride was comfortable wearing the lashes. She was focused, pleasant and clearly determined to provide excellence in service. Pre-service communication was also top-notch. Elana did my makeup as well as my whole bridal party and my mother. She did an excellent job. I not really huge on makeup and during our trial she took that into consideration. Everything she did, she explained what she was doing and allowed me to add my input on what I wanted. I showed her several pictures of some ideas I liked and she helped bring it to life. She was very patient with me and even tried more than one look on me until I was happy with my look. Elana is very friendly and easy to work with. She is a very flexible person and works with your schedule. Her prices are broken down by what you exactly want which was perfect. for example. Someone of my girls wanted eyelashes done with their makeup and some didn't, my mother wanted only her eyes done and nothing else so it helped that Elana had her prices broken done by what you need done. She also has hairstylist on hand which came in handy with some of my bridesmaids. Mary Jo did an amazing job with hair. She was super friendly and very flexible as well.

I was very pleased with the hair and makeup services provided by Elana Darrus for my wedding. I found them to be one of the most flexible salons for on-site hair and makeup, with moderate pricing. They do not have minimums which I appreciated as I only wanted makeup for myself, and hair for myself and my bridesmaids. Elana was very responsive for scheduling my appointments and happy to revise things as they changed. Mary Jo styled our hair which everyone was so happy with their styles. Kristina applied my makeup, and the airbrush looked flawless and did not budge for 12 hours! Would highly recommend booking their services!

Rachel was our stylist. We did make-up only. Elana owns the company. Elana was exceptionally responsive. So open to my endless questions, very professional, and so very sweet.
She organized everything and even helped me with the time schedule.

Rachel is extremely skilled and has a great personality. During my trial she listened to what I wanted and changed what I wanted. She made me laugh, gave me tips on make-up and the wedding in general, it felt like having a friend do my make-up. Well worth it.

Elana Darrus was recommended to me by my photographer. Though they were 1.5 hours away from the venue, they still came on site (for a small travel fee of course) at 7:00 am on time and ready to go. I had my hair and makeup done and was very pleased with the services. Even though I had changed my mind a bit on my hair since the trial, I showed the artist a picture of what I had in mind and she tweaked it to make it work with my face and it came out beautifully. The makeup artist was great as well. I have bad acne, and they used airbrush makeup to cover it well without looking or feeling caked on. They used high end cosmetics like MAC that stayed on all day and I didn't have the dreaded eye shadow crease thing going on, the false eyelashes also stayed put from morning until I took them off around 2 am. She did a good job of making my makeup more dramatic than an everyday look to be good for bridal pictures, but it didn't look overdone like stage makeup. Both artists were very friendly and nice to work with. Another thing that I really liked was that they didn't make me have a minimum number of girls to book them for on sight work. Many of the other companies I looked at did. I didn't want to force my bridesmaids into their services if they didn't want to, and I couldn't afford to pay for all of them, even though almost all the girls booked them anyway, it was nice to not have that pressure to secure a minimum number of services.

If I could hug Elana every day, I would. She runs her business wonderfully and only hires the BEST artists. I had about 5 trials with other companies...and then I went Lauren from Elana's team. HOLY AMAZING. She is perfection when it comes to makeup application. She made me feel like myself yet bridal. Took my suggestions and applied them strategically. Elana is also so great to work with as the middle man. She lets her artists SHINE.

Lauren made EVERYONE in my party feel gorgeous, especially my mother who rarely "does herself up." Everyone look elegant and stunning and it stayed all day.

I also had Lauren meet me at my hotel for a touch up between the ceremony and reception. It was just what I needed to continue feeling beautiful all day.

SOOOO glad I went with them!!!

I had someone else do my hair ( a family friend). Someone from Elana's team did my party's hair and although we weren't SUPER stoked about the styles, I spoke honestly with Elana and she tried to rectify it. That in itself speaks volumes to the type of business owner she is and the woman that she is, too.

I cannot say enough good things about Elana or the four stylists I hired through her for our Chicago wedding! We were coming from out of town and did most of our wedding planning and booking via email.

Elana was very responsive and fun to talk to! She was very flexible with our requests and very helpful. I found most stylists downtown to be overpriced and was discouraged until I found Elana.

Specifically for Jarmin and Lena: These ladies were great!!!!!!

I gave Jarmin very little direction on what I wanted my hair to look like (I said I wanted it up and swooshed in the front...not very descriptive) and she did an AMAZING job. All night, I received tons of compliments on my hair style and when I show people our wedding photos, almost all comment on how pretty my hair was. Thank you, Jarmin!!!

Likewise, with Lena, I asked to look natural and that was about all I said. I've had my make-up done for other weddings when I requested the same natural look and ended up feeling very over done. Not with Lena! She gave me a very classic look and accented my eyes and other features. My bridesmaids also were VERY happy with their looks. We didn't have any issue with make up rubbing off or looking shiny as the night wore on. Thank you, Lena!!

Overall, I have never felt so beautiful in my entire life and Elana and team's services had a direct contribution to that feeling. I feel we got more than we paid for and would HIGHLY recommend Elana and team to any bride searching for a reasonably priced, high quality and fun hair/make-up stylists for her big day!

Elana's team was recommended to us by a number of brides, and we booked with her before doing a trial or even speaking to her! We weren't disappointed in her selection of services and packages, her talented work and her approachable yet professional attitude.

I also booked my hairstylist, Jarmine, with Elana, and loved working with her. What's more, I was able to send a stylist for my out-of-town (and non-English speaking!) guests, and everyone looked great. I felt that the service was top-notch and affordable.

I felt exceptionally beautiful on my wedding day thanks to Elana and Jarmine! Looking forward to working with them at my sister's upcoming wedding!

I had a very hard time finding a make-up artist. I was only looking for somebody to my make-up and I wanted them to come to the house where I was getting ready. This eliminated a lot of people because they have minimums. Other places I found were more than I was willing to spend on my make-up. Fortunately I found Elana who would come to the house just for me without breaking my budget! She does charge a small fee for travel, but it was worth it for me.

For my trial, I showed her a few looks I liked, and we talked about airbrush and fake eyelashes. I was worried about how both would feel and she was very comforting - wanting me to be comfortable and discussing options/alternatives. She was very flexible as I had to change her start time for the wedding day after my trial. She showed up on time, finished on time, and I felt like I looked awesome. I was so happy with how I looked for the wedding day. I would recommend Elana to other brides!!!

Elana and her team were absolutely wonderful! From start to finish it really was a pleasure working with her. I had six girls standing up with me as well as myself, my mom and my grandma all getting their makeup done and most getting their hair done as well. It was a bit of a logistical nightmare but Elana was so kind and flexible and we worked out the perfect schedule to get everyone done on time. The day of the wedding they were on time and so much fun! We all looked amazing. Pamela did my hair and I could not have been happier with it. It looked perfect from the moment she finished until I took it down after the wedding 12 hours later! And my makeup (done by Elana) was flawless. We had Gina doing makeup and Jarmin doing hair, and they did such a FANTASTIC job!! They were right on time, very talented, and made sure everyone got done early so we had some extra time for pictures. Gina is such a nice, sweet person and a fantastic make up artist- my biggest fear was looking overly done, and she listened to everything I wanted and made sure my makeup was perfect- I was so happy with the results! Jarmin is awesome and did a great job on my hair; she also was able to give each of the bridesmaids the unique hairstyle they wanted and everyone ended up looking so classy! I had the pleasure of Elana herself styling my makeup. As someone with bad acne, a shiny T zone, and typically has makeup melt off her face, I was worried about my wedding day. All of my worries were put to rest when I met with Elana for a makeup trial. She’s very easy to talk with and has excellent technique. My makeup was flawless even after hours of dancing at my wedding! My bridesmaids looked equally flawless, Elana highlighting my ladies’ natural features to show off how each was uniquely beautiful.

Through Elana Darrus, Jarmin was selected as my hair stylist. She listened to what I was considering and looked at the various items I was thinking to wear. On the day of, I presented her with the feather hairpieces I made for myself and my bridesmaids, and the chains I wanted draped in my own hair. Jarmin assembled them in my curls and asked for my opinion on the arrangement each time until I was satisfied. The final look was perfect, and my hair remained flawless until the end of the night. My bridesmaids’ hair was equally beautiful and the curls held all night.

Very happy that I went with Elana Darrus services for my trail and wedding day hair and makeup. I had Gina as my makeup artist and she did such and amazing job listening to exactly what I wanted. She had some beautiful lipstick colors that I was able to purchase to have with me on the wedding day as well. Mary Jo did my hair (and two other bridesmaids) and I got so many compliments on how great it looked. She worked so great with my extensions and the morning of the wedding went perfectly timed because of them. Highly suggest using this group!!

I loved working with Elana Darrus Makeup & Hair! After interviewing several different artists in the area, I booked Elana as my makeup artist and Jarmin as my hairstylist for my wedding day. I am so happy with my decision. Elana asked a lot of questions to make sure she understood my style and the look that I wanted. We had a great trial and she made all the changes that I asked. I definitely feel like I looked my very best for the wedding day!

Jarmin was phenomenal and did my hair as well as my bridesmaids and flower girl. She takes one look at the picture you show her and bam, it's recreated on you! I had two styles on pinterest that I really loved, and Jarmin was able to incorporate them into one uniform style.

Everybody was really punctual and we were pretty much on schedule all morning! I would definitely recommend Elana's network. She is so accommodating and a pleasure to work with!

We just used Elana's team for hair and make up for our daughters wedding and they were fantastic! We had Mary Jo doing hair and all the girls loved their hair, she made sure they got what they wanted and she was so quick and good all the hair lasted all night and lots of dancing. We had Dawn for makeup and all girls, especially the bride looked stunning! Dawn is truly a artist and we couldn't have been happier. I loved working with Elana and her team! I came to Elana at first looking only for makeup, but after a disastrous hair trial with someone else, I asked if she could also recommend someone to do my hair. She set me up with Michelle who did an amazing job! I showed her a few pictures and she just "got it". It was exactly what I wanted and I was able to breathe easily after my other experience... On the day of the wedding Michelle (hair), Judy (makeup) and Elana came to our hotel and did hair & makeup for my Mom, Mother-in-Law, Sister-in-Law and 2 bridesmaids. They were really good about listening to the look all of us girls wanted and were also really fast! (and on time). I even changed my makeup look from the trial on the day-of, deciding I wanted my eyes a little different and it was no problem. Thanks ladies for making us all feel so pretty on the big day!

First of all I would like to join to all good words which girls addressed here to Elana and her team. It was my great pleasure to meet Elana and Jarmin. I do not live in US and I could use only Internet to find who can help me with my wedding make-up and hair. I sent message to Elana and after her first reply I decided that I found a perfect team to work with. And it is true! They are perfect and hight professional. I was able to know the exact day of my wedding only one week before the event. You can imagine how I was stressed during this one week and at the day of my wedding I had no any idea about which make up I want and which hair dress I prefer. Elana did a great job! Reasonably priced... She had 5 get makeup done and we all looked beautiful! My makeup stayed in place all day - and night and probablly would have made it through the day after had I have left it... The eyelashes were the perfect addition to our day! Based on the wonderful reviews and after looking through her website, I contacted Elana for more information via email. She was very responsive and accommodating as we worked to schedule a trial at her house. I went to the trial and had my makeup done by Elana and my hair done by Jarmin. They both asked lots of questions to make sure that they were capturing my style. As I typically don’t wear a lot of makeup, I was especially pleased with how Elana was able to apply makeup the appropriate amount of makeup for a bride and still make me look very natural. Jarmin was able to create very interesting and intricate design with my hair in a beautiful updo with hair pinned back in interesting patterns. After looking through more pictures online I realized I had maybe wanted to try a different style I had never done before – a side bun. I contacted Jarmin who gladly invited me to come to her salon to do a second trial. The day of the wedding my hair was even better than I could have ever imagined. It looked so beautiful and I got many compliments. It stayed put all day, even in the heat of July! I loved my makeup and most importantly I felt very comfortable and beautiful in it. I ended up purchasing some of the same makeup that Elana used on me to touch up throughout the evening but really I didn’t need to do much as the makeup lasted great throughout the evening and despite the heat. Both were able to set up nicely in the hotel and made all the girls feel comfortable as we all got ready together. I would especially like to point out how flexible and accommodating the team was. My mom had an appointment with her normal hairdresser who never showed. Luckily the stylists moved things around a bit and were able to finish my mom’s hair and makeup in time. Elana even waited until the photographers arrived to do any final touch ups before heading out. The whole team was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend this team of talented artists and stylists!

Elana and her team were amazing at my September wedding! They were prompt, professional and made my mom, MIL, bridesmaids and me look amazing. I am not a big makeup person, but Elana did an amazing job of glamming me up but keeping it natural. Definitely get the lashes for one of the options, they look great. I received more compliments about my appearance than I expected and it was so humbling... I felt beautiful!! The application stayed on for almost the entire night... the end I looked a little ragged, but hey, I was dancing a ton! Elana did such a great job at my makeup trial, that I booked her to do my makeup for a friend's wedding too! Two big thumbs up for Elana and her team.

Elana and her hairdresser were great! She and Megan came to the hotel to do my Matron of Honor and my hair and make-up. They were on time and fun to work with! Both did a great job and we looked fab! Elana is the absolute BEST make-up artist !! She came to downtown Chicago the day of my wedding and set up in the Hyatt hotel suite. In just a few short hours, she completed makeup for an exceptionally large wedding party (8 bridesmaids, 2 mothers, 2 grandmothers and a godmother). Every single person raved about how wonderful their makeup turned out. At the reception, even more people complimented the makeup job, and many asked for Elana to do future work for them. Elana is reasonably priced, very sociable, will work with you, and provide an outstanding service. I will be using only her for all of my future makeup needs. She drove to downtown chicago when I was in town for my bachelorette party to do my trial makeup. She was so sweet, and does an unbelievable job. Elana is absolutely amazing! The first time I met her was at my friends wedding and I thought she was so professional, artistic and easy to get along with. I hired Elana for hair and makeup for a special occasion, and she and Lisa (for hair) were fantastic. They were able to work with my schedule. Elana is just a peach to work with! I communicated with her eight months before my wedding to set up a trial appointment and then booked my wedding with her. She was very receptive to the kind of makeup I wear everyday and the look I was going for. Elana is fantastic!!! I LOVED the way she did my makeup for my wedding! My bridesmaids and mothers loved their makeup also! She was able to accomplish the look that each one if them wanted! I HIGHLY recommend Elana!!

Elana did a wonderful job! She did a great dramatic look for me without it being too much and she also did some beautiful natural looks for my bridesmaids. She works very quickly which was great so that everyone in my wedding party, including the moms could get their makeup done. She was great to talk to as well and I learned she has a lot of different experience which is part of why I think she is so excellent. My makeup lasted all day, except for the tired in my eyes I couldn't tell the difference between first pictures and last pictures. I shopped around quite a bit before finding Elana and I think she has a very modest cost, especially for the quality she delivers.

Elana did an outstanding job with my wedding day makeup. I looked and felt my best on my special day. The makeup was done beautifully and really looked great in photos. I am also grateful for the excellent job Elana did with my bridesmaids and mother. Each one felt special and looked gorgeous. I couldn't be happier with the results and I have already recommended Elana to many of my friends!

I was the photographer for a wedding. When I showed up at the bride's home, Elana was busy working her magic. I love to photograph natural beauty and that's exactly what Elana did for each of the bridesmaids, the bride and the mother's of the bride and groom! They all looked like natural beauties! She was especially good at making the false eyelashes look like they were a natural (yet dramatic) part of the person. She listened to each client and gave them exactly what they wanted (even changing the lipstick color of an older family member who couldn't quite make up her mind what she wanted). She was very relaxed and professional and set a nice tone - no one felt rushed. It was an enjoyable time for everyone. I'd highly recommend her.
