I've engaged Elaine and her team to do hair and makeup for me/the bride, my mother in law, and 4 bridesmaids. Elaine also did a trial for myself before the wedding day. Elaine and her team did an EXCELLENT job with a GREAT attitude. All of us looked stunning after their magic work. The guests at the wedding were so impressed with the way Elaine did my hair - it was the talk of town even after the wedding. I also appreciate the fact that Elaine speaks Mandarin since my mother in law doesn't speak English.

Amazing experience

Elaine was amazing for my wedding day on 11/23/19. She did my hair and makeup, and her team (one hair stylist and one makeup stylist) worked on my bridesmaid, mother, and groom's mother. Everyone looked amazing and they were punctual and efficient.

My services started at 6am and everyone arrived on time because we had to be done by 9am for tea ceremony at 930am. Everything worked out great and smoothly.

The trial hair and makeup was great too, I went to her studio and she was able to follow the pictures and samples. She gave recommendations and suggestions

The price was reasonable and comparable to the other quotes I received. I highly recommend her!!

Elaine is seriously the best bridal makeup and hairstylist out there! She worked so hard to perfect the look I wanted for my wedding.

After showing her some photos of the look I wanted, she was able to tailor it for me during our trial. On my big day, she worked endlessly on my makeup and hair, transforming me into such a radiant bride. I was going for a romantic bridal look, and she was able to achieve it so swiftly. I loved that she could make me look amazing without caking it on.

Moreover, Elaine’s work ethic as a makeup artist is incomparable, because she genuinely cares so much about making you look perfect on your big day. I am very happy with Elaine and I highly recommend her services to everyone who is looking for a skilled, knowledgeable, tasteful makeup/hair stylist with a sharp eye for beauty!

Echou Makeup was one of the makeup vendors our wedding planner recommended to us. I wanted a natural, dewy, yet elegant & sophisticate look. Elaine & her team were able to deliver this & more! They came to my mother's house on time & were ready to bedazzle the whole bridal party. I especially loved Elaine's make-up trial-not only did I have an idea of how I would look on our special day, but she also glammed me up for our Engagement photo session. I hired Elaine for my both my wedding and engagement session. I was very happy with the outcome. She did an amazing job. Elaine is very artistic and a perfectionist. She makes sure your hair and makeup was perfect and to your liking. She is very patient and her timing of hair and makeup is superb. Her team Tina (makeup artist) and Michelle (hair) did an amazing job with my bridesmaids. They all looked beautiful and their makeup and hair lasted all day. I had the wonderful privilege of working with Elaine this year for my January wedding. She is absolutely THE BEST hair and makeup professional around. I am extremely picky when it comes to who touches my hair and face. It is so rare to find individuals who are skilled to work on Asian faces (with single eyelids) without making them look completely scary and unnatural. My hair is also so pin straight that it doesn't do anything except...well...hang straight and low. I couldn't believe how extremely talented Elaine was in overcoming my awesome "Asian quirks."

TRIAL: I highly recommend doing a trial before your wedding day! It took quite a few hours, but it was totally worth it. Elaine showed me two different updos and makeup styles that I both LOVED. I ended up choosing them both- one for the wedding day, and the other for our second reception. She was very attentive to my preferences, and versatile in accommodating them. It was also so much fun getting to know her in the process. She is one of the sweetest persons you'll ever meet!

WEDDING DAY: Elaine's very talented team worked on my bridesmaids and moms.They were able to take everyone's vision, and turn them into a beautiful reality. Meanwhile, Elaine was very calm and patient while working on me. Growing up, my dad always joked about grooms who jump out the window the next morning because he couldn't recognize his bride without all her makeup on. You will never have to worry about that with Elaine. She was able to transform me into a beautiful and elegant bride without "masking" who I was. Everyone ended up looking GORGEOUS! Our makeup stayed all through the day (pictures in the hot sun) and into the night (tons of dancing!). Elaine and her team's professionalism and skill is unparalleled. I'm so glad that they were a part of our wedding day!

Although I don't have much experience with hair/make-up artists, I have to say I have no regrets choosing Elaine and her team (Jessie)!! They were friendly, flexible and professional! Very professional, extremely detail, on time, accommodating, know what she is doing, most importantly you will have a peace of mind that make up will be perfect!!!! I cried when she finished mine on my wedding day, I never looked so beautiful and my scars and pimples were all covered, makeup was very natural and smooth.

Oh, she also listens to client's preference. You can rest assure that you will be the most beautiful bride if she does your makeup. Even casual makeup by her will turn out perfect on pictures, and very natural.

I tried on many makeup artists, and I am not from the area, it took me quite some time to find her, and it's all worth it.

Elaine is so freakin amazing!!! And I must say, I looked super stunning during my trial and wedding day!!! I reached out to Elaine late in the game and requested her assistance 2 months prior to my wedding date. She was already pretty booked up that day but was very willing to help me without any hesitations! She comes from an extensive background and her portfolio says it all. She is extremely accommodating, flexible, and makes every effort to cater to you!!! I had a great time working with her and would reach out to her again when the occasion rises. Elaine did my makeup for my engagement photo and on my wedding day May of this year. She is a very sweet person and her make up skill is so professional. I'm a person who doesn't like heavy make up, and Elaine was able to do my make up in a very very natural way but still look like wedding make up, which I absolutely need to praise her for that. Her team also did my bridesmaids and my mom's make up and they all loved it. Her team is very professional and they made us look so pretty. We also got a lot of compliments for our hair styles too!

So thank you Elaine and her team, you all made my BIG DAY a beautiful and memorable day in my life.

Elaine did an amazing job on my hair and makeup for the wedding day (and during the trial). Her team also did a great job with hair and makeup for our moms and the bridal party. It was such a pleasure to work with Elaine and her makeup team. I had a huge group of 8 bridesmaids that needed both hair and makeup done. Everybody arrived on time and my bridal party all looked beautiful for my big day. As far as my own makeup, Elaine did a wonderful job and I got so many compliments. Elaine was a pleasure to work with. We went with Elaine (Echou Makeup for hair/makeup, flower) and Terry (Inlight Lighting - lighting and decoration, flower) and they made the planning process so much easier. Elaine helped with not just great make up and hair but also with coming up with the coloring pallette and concept of the whole production along with Terry. Her willingness to go beyond her specific area of service for hair and makeup by assisting us with the designing and providing useful comments, suggestions, and critique isn't something that can easily be found in other vendors. Trial hair and makeup went without a hitch and she was on time for every meeting. She showed up at crack of dawn on the day of and worked so hard to make all the ladies happy with their hair and makeup for hours. She is reliable, provides great service and good company. My photographer recommended Elaine to me and I always trusted his input, so I was really looking forward to working with Elaine, but she was booked =( Luckily, her team was available, and so Lois and Jessie did my hair and makeup. (I may have confused them, but I think Lois did makeup and Jessie does hair.) They were wonderful!!! I'm SOOO glad I used them.

I was incredibly happy and pleased with the way my bridal party and I turned out! I honestly did not know what to expect because I had not especially liked my trial, which was the makeup used for my engagement photos. On photos, it looked pretty nice, but not me, and in person, the makeup was thick and just too much going on. So I was a little nervous on how I would look on my wedding day.

Thankfully, Lois understood exactly what I wanted, and she did the most amazing job! My bridesmaids looked just lovely. With the airbrushing, the makeup wasn't cakey or heavy or anything I had worried about from my first trial. I would honestly go back every day to get my makeup done from her, if I could.

Jessie is a great hairstylist. I deviated from my trial hairstyle the morning of, and she rolled with it and came up with an incredibly simple yet stylish hairdo on the spot. I seriously woke up that morning with no idea how to do my hair or makeup, but when I walked out of my room after hair and makeup, I felt like a true princess.

I would recommend Elaine and her team to anyone. They are so easy to work with, responsive, and listen to your preferences.

Elaine was terrific -- even prior to the wedding, she was willing to demonstrate three different hairstyles on me during our trial, which definitely was above and beyond what I was expecting. I have tried 3 different makeup artists, Elaine is the best! Elaine and her team are amazing! They used quality products. It feels good on my sensitive skin. They arrived on time and did a great job transforming all the ladies into beauties. I prefer the natural look. So, I still looked like myself, but just "prettier"... :-) My mom is a very picky person. And she was very happy with her Makeup & hair. Elaine has a great selection of hair accessories and earrings that we could borrow. That certainly saved me $$. I will certainly hire Elaine again when I attend special event in the future.

Perfect hair and makeup for me, my bridesmaids, and my mothers! I also accidentally trimmed my hair too short the week before my wedding and nearly had a fit! I emailed Elaine with some pictures, and she was so reassuring that she'll still be able to make my hair look perfect! Everything looked like my trial run, but even BETTER! Her airbrush skills are pristine, making my skin look flawless and glowing! She was able to do my hair so that I can partially let it down during the reception, something that I just requested on the wedding day. I love her work so much that I'm going to her for any other special event I have.

Elaine's makeup and hair team did such a great job on me, my bridesmaids, and my mom on my wedding day. Many people told me that I looked great on my wedding day, and were surprised that I still managed to look like my natural self with all the makeup! For me to give such a high rating is something! Elaine was quick to respond to my questions and really listened to what i wanted. She did a wonderful job on my hair and make up for my trial and day of, I felt like a beautiful princess! I just cannot stop raving about the wonderful job that Elaine and her team did on my bridesmaid and mother in law. Everyone got what they asked for and even more.

The price that i was charged was fair especially for the quality of make up she uses, and she was flexible with the payment plans.

Elaine used high quality make up brand and does not charge higher for it, because while i was looking for a hair and make up vendor, i noticed some places charged more because of the brand of make up that they used.

While doing my trial- it was very personable because it is one on one, and i enjoyed my time getting to know her.

Since she has been doing this for awhile, she knows a lot of vendors in the industry. She recommended me a vendor for my personal flowers, and i was really happy with him too.

Elaine worked wonders on me and i highly recommend her to anyone!

Elaine was really great! She was able to transform the beastly side of me to beauty! I wear hard lenses, and if you have sensitive eyes like mine... you understand how hard for other people to apply eye make up on you. Elaine is TERRIFIC and I'm SOOOOO GLAD to find her!!! When I first met her to do a test trial, I showed her the picture of what I wanted my make-up and hair to look like. She was very patient and thorough with everything. The test trial looked great. A few days before my wedding day, she emailed me to confirm what I wanted and gave me advice on how to take care of my hair and face. She showed up on time on my wedding day. Even on my wedding day, I showed her a picture of a different style and she was able to emulate and made it look even better than my trial test. Elaine also did my two bridesmaid's hair style and they were very satisfied with the outcome. Everyone complimented my make-up and hair. What's more important is my make-up looked great the entire day starting at 5am and ending at 10pm. My make-up did not melt and looked nice throughout the day that was in the 80's. I really appreciated that Elaine listened to me and took my feedback positively. I would refer her to anyone. I really appreciated all of her work and overall glad and very satisfied with the outcome.

Elaine Chou and her team of professional makeup artists work magic. They are up to date on the latest makeup techniques, and make you look simply flawless. The makeup does not look "caked on" - in fact, after they are finished, it does not look like you are wearing makeup at all, but are simply transformed into the most beautiful "you" you can be! You can also get a more dramatic look if you ask. Elaine is very open to comments and will work with you to get the look you want.

Elaine and her team are always on time, and put you at ease. I was so lucky to have Elaine do my engagement photos, my wedding, and now, we are also hiring her to do an upcoming wedding. I just can't get enough!

Elaine Chou did an AMAZING job on my make up and hair for my wedding!!!! She is a very skilled artist. I would even say she is somewhat of a perfectionist... it definitely shows through her work! She is detail oriented which I totally love! My eyelids are not symmetrical and she was able to flawlessly make them look completely equal! I felt like she knew how important this day was for me and made sure I looked beautiful. I got so many compliments- some said that I looked so beautiful that it didn't even look like me....ha ha sounds like a compliment and stab in the heart at the same time right!?! Hey, as long as I looked good that day I don't care! Ha ha anyway some of my gf have had their makeup and hair done by other popular local make up artists, but none of them can compare to Elaine's work. I love Elaine Chou makeup AND services!

Elaine did my trial hair/makeup for my engagement session and for my big day. I got tons of compliments... So many people said I should have her do my makeup all the time (I'm trying not to be insulted and choose to give credit to how great her work is). Seriously, one look at her website and you will see hundreds of before and after shots of brides as testimonials. I especially liked that she doesn't overdo your makeup so it's still very natural looking.

Elaine is very understanding about time, etc. We were getting married on "carmageddon" and she was very cool about rushing us to make sure we were on the road to make it on time. BUT, she didn't do a rush job as me and my bridesmaids looked fab-u-lous.

Her new boutique is very clean, quaint.

p.s. Elaine is also provides chair and lighting services and can recommend good photographers so I highly recommend contacting her as one of your first vendors. Elaine is very awesome and books up quickly so I would def call her first to book your dates sooner than later.

I booked Elaine about a year before our wedding, but in late 2010, I read a review from another bride who had given her a very poor rating mostly due to the fact that she had arrived late, requested for a tip, and mentioned that Elaine had called her after the wedding to confront her about her negative review. I became very wary of this. I seriously considered hiring another artist, and in fact, became very anal retentive with Elaine, even requesting her to arrive earlier than necessary just to have a bigger window for time in the case that this should happen at our wedding (our wedding was also really far away, in the Malibu/Calabasas area).

A few days before the wedding, when I went to Elaine’s studio to pick up makeup/hair accessories, I mentioned to my mom the review I had read, as I was unsure of what an expected ‘tip’ would be for something like this, who said that this seemed out of sorts with the Elaine that we had worked with, who was always very courteous, friendly, and professional. When we picked up our accessories, Elaine patiently helped us pick out the accessories she had, and even helped my mom pick out some accessories for herself.

On our wedding day, Elaine’s helpers not only came on time, they were 20 minutes early, and were very courteous, and even played around with different hair styles that the bridesmaids, MOB, and MOG wanted. They also were very professional with all my bridesmaids, were great on time, and listened to all their requests and did everything perfectly. When Elaine came to do my hair/makeup, she was equally courteous and friendly, and just a genuinely kindhearted person who cared to make the bride/her bridal party look amazing. Considering how she probably does hair/makeup every weekend for every bride, she did not consider us “just another job”, and treated us with respect, did an AMAZING job, and I am COMPLETELY satisfied with her services.

When my mom went back to Elaine’s studio to return our borrowed items, she asked Elaine about the negative review, and Elaine explained that while she was late, she did not ask for an extra tip. She tried to call the bride to explain herself, but the bride was terse and hung up on her. I suppose I’m writing this on behalf of Elaine – I’m not trying to negate what the other bride said, because I am SURE that the makeup stylist showing up late on your wedding date is indeed very stressful, but I was definitely influenced by that review, but that instance was uncharacteristic of what Elaine’s services are usually like. And 99.999% of the time, she is an amazing artist and does great work. Also, she has great packages that she puts together for big wedding party groups that are very affordable and cost efficient. She was one of the few people who was great on pricing for such a giant party like ours!

For some reason I thought picking a make-up person for my wedding day would be easy--bring some pix of what I want, sit in a chair, relax, and come out looking great on the other side.

However, I had 3 disappointing make-up trials from other vendors--all of whom were rated well by other brides but for whatev reason weren't doing it for me. Overdone, underdone, didn't come out well in pictures, etc. My search started to become worrisome, plus trials are not free! With Elaine, thank goodness, I finally felt pleased with the end result.

Beyond that, everything else was easy...Elaine is patient, pleasant, on time, helpful. Makeup lasted all day, and I have pretty oily skin. She also has a collection of hair accessories which you can borrow from. Overall, very pleased.

Elaine Chou and her second artist, Nicole, really did a great job with my bridal hair and makeup, my Maid of Honor’s hair and makeup, and the moms’ makeup.

On the morning of the wedding, everything was completed within two hours. Each of our preferences was taken into account, with my MOH choosing the longer hairdo over the up-do and my mother asking for very light makeup. My mother-in-law’s eye makeup was a little heavy for her liking, but after she removed the false eyelashes (which she had never worn before) she looked great and was pleased. Elaine asked me if I wanted my beauty marks covered, and I asked her to just lighten them but not cover them up all the way. She took care of that, and even concealed a scar that I have on my back pretty well.

Each of our looks complimented our dresses perfectly. The makeup stayed in place all day, with only touchups under my eyes and a little powder needed. I used the touch-up kit that Elaine had loaned me for a deposit of $50, which I mailed back to her the Monday after the wedding. I’m very pleased with EChou Makeup's services!

They came earlier than time scheduled for my wedding! Elaine Chou's team was fast, efficient, and all my bridesmaids loved their makeup and hair! They were able to add an additional person last minute for hair and still got everyone done earlier than the time allotted. I loved the way Elaine did my hair and makeup! It was exactly what I wanted and she was able to do it exactly like the pictures I chose. She ended up doing a different hair than my hair trial and makeup and it looked better than I could imagine. I love that she has accessories, make up kits included and even a veil. I was able to borrow hair accessories and not have to buy. Elaine Chou, your the best!

I loved my trial hair and makeup with Elaine so much that I ended up taking make up lessons from her!! She spent about three hours doing my hair and make-up for my trial and she took her time to show me different hair styles. I loved her work so much that I not only took make up lessons from her but also booked her and her team for my family and bridesmaids for my both my weddings. She is amazing with make-up.

I had so many guests come up to me during and after the wedding to tell me how beautiful everyone looked and how great the make-up application was for everyone. Everyone complimented us on how well the eye shadow and foundation work was! Elaine and her team made us all look gorgeous on my wedding day !

Elaine’s also really friendly and easy going. She’s easy to talk to and she listens to your ideas and really gets it right.

Elaine was on time, quick, and very professional on the day of my wedding. Her and her team managed to tackle 5 bridesmaids, 2 mothers, and myself all in 3.5hours.
Every person that had their makeup done looked flawless and my hair on the day of the wedding was perfect.

Okay, so I just got back from my honeymoon in Hawaii and have settled in with married life =D First thing first, I want to tell everyone how great Elaine was with my hair and makeup on my wedding day! Elaine is very good in what she's doing. She spent over an hour driving to my wedding location for the make up and hair services for a few additional cost (totally worth it!). She brought along her team to take care of the other wedding party and they were able to finish on time too. I loved the final results, and everybody kept complimenting on how beautiful I was. Everything was perfect, just the way I wanted it to be. Elaine Chou does such amazing work, that my husband now wishes she could do my hair and makeup on a daily basis! I booked Elaine purely from phone calls and emails, but knew after I looked at her website and spoke to her, that she was the perfect person to make me beautiful on my wedding day. I normally don't wear makeup on a daily basis per my husband's request, so I wanted a more natural and young look. Elaine gave me exactly what I wanted, and then some more!!! I did a trial with Elaine and she was so meticulous in making sure I looked exactly how I wanted to look and my husband was blown away by her handiwork!

Throughout the months before our wedding, Elaine was so prompt in responding to my many questions and changes.

On our wedding day, a few relatives wanted to get their hair done and Elaine and her assistant made them gorgeous on the spot, without a second word! Elaine came early with her assistant and set up and kept all the many girls, including me, in line and on time. As soon as she had finished my makeup and hair, all my girls and family were ?awwwing? over me. Everyone complimented me on how gorgeous I looked, all thanks to Elaine! When it came time to walk down the aisle, my husbands eyes misted over and he told me how beautiful I looked. I wish I could have her make me look like that every day!

Elaine and her team is definitely one of the vendors that I'm most happy with for my wedding. I found Elaine on project wedding and decided to do a trial with her after seeing so many positive reviews with her. Elaine was very patient with me. I originally thought I wanted a more natural look which would have faint eyeshadow. After Elaine applied what I wanted, I changed my mind and she immediately applied more eyeshadow to help me decide which look I like most. We ended up testing out two more styles and I decided on a more smokey eye look which look absolutely gorgeous. I also have two completely different hairstyles tested out at the trial since I wasn't sure what I wanted. I was very happy with Elaine after the trial and decided to book with her. I had done a trial with another makeup artist which disappointed me very much. From that experience, I knew that picking Elaine was correct.

Fast forward to wedding day, I booked Elaine and 2 other girls in her team to do hair and makeup for me, my 3 bridesmaids, and 2 moms. They were on time even though the hotel room that I got ready at was very very difficult to find in a new resort (Terranea in Palos Verdes). She got to work immediately and spent a full 3 hour on my makeup and hair. She knew what I wanted from the trial, and her work is just magnificent! I never felt that beautiful in my life and I'm glad I felt that on my wedding day! I also love the fact that she is able to make me still "look like me" even with a good amount of makeup on. She is also very good with hair. My makeup and hair stay on beautifully from 11am to 11pm with no problem. One more plus with Elaine and her team is the other girls who did the hair and makeup for my bridesmaids and moms are also great. I was a little bit concerned about that at first (since I have had bad experience with good main makeup artist who has lousy assistants). But other girls in her team were so good at what they do that all my bms also have very cute hair up-dos and beautiful makeup. Overall I was extremely happy with Elaine makeup team and I would highly recommend her!

I had a wonderful experience with Elaine. She did my bridal look which was absolutely beautiful. The makeup lasted all day (even through the hot day and tears)! Her team also did my mother and my bridesmaid. They were impressive as they came early and started immediately on the hair and makeup. Elaine worked only on me so her attention was completely on me. After asking around for numerous recommendations for a great make-up artist, I finally found Elaine! I got the Promotion Package B, which included make-up and hair for me and 6 of the ladies in my bridal party. I only had three bridesmaids but I chose the other 3 for my mom, mother-in-law, and sis. Elaine chou and her team are great! She did my makeup for my engagement sessions, trial, and my wedding day on September. She and her team did amazing work on anybody! She's also easy to get along with and is really prompt and efficient at getting back to emails. Elaine is very patient and calm. I communicated with her entirely through email and she was very good about responding quickly. She takes pride in her work and she takes her time. The makeup was very natural. I am very pleased with her work. I couldn't remember how many compliments I got for the day. Elaine, you have truely done a wonderful job and thank you for making me so beautiful on one of the most important days in my life. Elaine is incredibly talented and I was 100% happy with her on the day of my wedding. I had seen her work on a few of my friends and they always looked the best. Recreating some of the difficult hair-do's in magazines wasn't as natural for her but she did really well with a more clean, formal look. The makeup job she did was flawless and didn't come off AT ALL during the day.

She is a bit pricey but if you consider that she lends out veils and hair pieces, you save quite a bit with her. I borrowed a veil from her collection and it looked GREAT without me spending a dime!

This was the first time in my life that I got so many "wow, you're gorgeous" compliments from people, including strangers, so I was absolutely satisfied.

Elaine and Jesse were both great. Elaine did my makeup while Jesse did my hair. They both tag teamed so I got ready pretty quickly... in about 2 hours. I didn't even need a trial session because I had so much faith in Elaine. She definitely lived up to my expectation!

For both the hair and makeup, it literally lasted all day. I had so much trouble parting with the look that I kept it to the next morning... lol. I recommend you show them pictures of what you want to get the best results. If you want hair extensions, remind them the day before.

What's amazing is we were ahead of schedule. Pictures to come!

Side tip: If you need chairs and/or decor, Elaine can give you an awesome deal. It's too bad I found out about it after I bought my decor.

Elaine and her team did an AMAZING job on the makeup and hair for all my bridesmaids, my mother, and myself. They arrived promptly on time and were professional. I definitely recommend her to other brides. If i had questions, she would respond by phone and email right away or even the same day. She listened to all the girls suggestions on how they would like their hair and makeup. I did a lot of research on hair and makeup artists, and elaine definitely has a fantastic deal on hair/makeup for great value. She also leaves you with a touch up package. And most importantly, everyone loved the makeup which did not feel heavy at all:).

I've recommended at least 6 brides to Elaine in the past. I just love her work and her price is pretty competitive. She charge $120/wkday and $160/wkend for hair and makeup trial. She was the second person I contacted right after we set the wedding date and luckily she was available that day. I don't personally wear makeup all that much, I just don't have time so I did not know what to expect when I did my trial with Elaine. But I love the way my trial went and right after that, I booked her for my wedding day.
On wedding day: Elaine came on time in the morning and got started on my makeup which had taken a bit longer than expected. But my makeup and hair turned out great and natural, I love it so much! I had booked Elaine for practically the whole day and she was so great and accommodating to my requests. Elaine did my hair and makeup for my wedding recently. I had a trial (makeup only) session with her, then later I also had her do my hair and makeup for an engagement photo session. Elaine noticed dryness in my skin, so she made recommendations on how to avoid the dryness so that the makeup would stay on better.

For my wedding, she also did my sister's hair and makeup, and my mom's makeup. She arrived at the venue on time (unlike me) and had loads of supplies and tools with her for any need. I showed her a picture of my desired hairstyle, because I wanted a slight change from what she'd done before, and she was able to get the hair done perfectly. I also wanted to change the lipstick color slightly and asked for her advice, and that also came out just right. What I like about Elaine is that she can create a very natural look that's also very flattering. This is key for me, since I never wear makeup and didn't want something heavy that wouldn't fit me. Also, I notice that sometimes brides have such heavy layering of makeup that it cakes up and creases, but Elaine's makeup had a light touch with just the right amount of coverage and never caked up or creased.

She also left me a touchup kit, which I used at one point to powder my face and refresh the cheek color. She also lent me a veil and a decorated headband.

My mother-in-law loved Elaine's work so much that she wanted our photographer to take a close-up of me so that she could ask the makeup artist at the location for our second reception to do the same thing for me.

My family and I were so pleased with Elaine's work, plus she's really nice and easy to work with, which are so important when you're already under wedding planning stress! Many of our guests said I looked amazing and like a movie star at the wedding. I had no problems with the makeup looking fresh (the only time I had to touch it up was when I got slightly sweaty from taking pictures outdoors, and then all I had to do was add some powder and a little blush). My hair looked great all day and night too, and people kept asking where I got my hair done.

I chose the hair & makeup package for my self (which also included a trial session with 2 hairdos) and 4 bridesmaids. I was very happy with how everything turned out. I thought Elaine was very responsive to my requests (which was natural with still a wow factor) and even changed my hair a few days before the wedding. She also didn't charge extra for the trial session (some MU artists do if you take your engagement shoot right after). I felt gorgeous the day of my wedding, and didn't really even have to apply any touch-ups. I also love how she lent out my veil, hairpieces, and a touch-up kit so I didn't have to worry about that. I would definitely recommend Elaine, whose price is comparative to some of the other major Asian artists in the area (Kelly Zhang etc).

Elaine and her team were very professional. they showed up on time at the hotel and we were done promply. Elaine did a great job on my makeup and it lasted the whole day ( from church all the way the the reception). her team also did a great job on my mother, sisters and on my mother-in-law and sister-in -law.

I hired Elaine Chou for bridal make-up and hair for myself, my bridesmaids and my mother. I was very happy with the way that my make-up and hair turned out and my make-up looked very natural in the pictures. I don�t wear make-up normally so I was concerned that I wouldn�t look like myself in the photos but everything turned out great. The make-up and hair lasted through the whole day. I was an out of town bride and had to reschedule my hair/make-up trial and Elaine was very accommodating. Elaine and her team were also very professional and punctual. On the day of the wedding, I was on a tight schedule and I was concerned that they would be late because Elaine had another wedding earlier that morning. But she assured me that she would be on time and she was actually even early! Overall, I had a great experience with Elaine and I would recommend her to other brides.

Elaine and her team were very professional. They showed up 10 minutes before I was expecting them and did my makeup and hair as well as my mother's and my husband's mother's. All of it turned out great; you can show her a picture and she can do exactly what you want (which is what I did at my trial run) or you can just describe what you want and she can create that as well (which is what my mom and my mother in law did). I would highly recommend hiring Elaine for hair and makeup.

I hired Elaine to do makeup for my professional head shots and am super happy about results. I'm not usually one for a lot of heavy makeup and let her know that I wanted something more natural but would leave an impression. She arrived on time and was sensitive to my requests. The first I noticed was her keen attention to detail. She looked at my face like a one-of-a-kind canvas and was selective in the areas that needed detailing such as my eyes (I have larger eyes and her handiwork with eyeliner made them standout even more) and lips (made them look plump and lovely). Total time was around 45 minutes and the photos I eventually took turned out great. She even took some before and after photos and emailed them that day. Would recommend her to those who want a professional and quality makeup job. Thanks Elaine!

I have heard about Elaine through recommendation from friends and heard so many good things about her that we decided to book her for my sis-in-law's wedding. By looking at her website, I also noticed that she is very proficient in Asian makeup and that her makeup was done subtlety but yet defines their features so well.

Elaine did a wonderful job for my sister-in-law wedding and Elaine did a very good job in covering up her post acne scars. Elaine took extra care and time to even out her complexion and the result was remarkable and flawless. The makeup stayed whole day until the wedding ended. She also makes my sister-in-law's eyelashes super long. However, there is a need to touch up during the wedding but it's just the lip color and the powder.

Elaine is also very good in hairstyling, she was very fast and the hair stays put throughout the wedding too. Elaine uses high quality products for hair and makeup and she also advises her brides before the wedding to take care of their skin. However, Elaine is very polite and not pushy at all. She gives honest opinion about what hairstyle and makeup that works best for you. I think it is good to go in and have a trial session with her before the real wedding. The best thing is she lends the bridal veil for us for free.

We were all very pleased with the makeup, especially my brother! I highly recommend Elaine to everyone.

My friend recommended me to Elaine and I looked at her website and loved the before&after photos so I had no hesitation to book her for my wedding. I did the trail and got my before&after photo right away and my sisters (bridesmaids) and mother all loved it. On the wedding day, Elaine did a super job for my hair and make-up. I love the way that I could put down the hair extension after I take off my veil for the evening look. My Mom, sisters (bridesmaids) all loved mine and their make-up. Elaine seems very experience in doing wedding make-up and hair and her team did everything on time. The make-up and hair lasted the whole day till night, without too heavy hair-spray. Elaine was awesome! She did a wonderful wonderful job with my hair and make up as well as my bridesmaids. I will definitely ask her to do my hair and makeup for my sister's wedding. The products she used on my face do not make me itch like some of the other vendors I've tried. She started at 3:00pm and the make up lasted all night until the end of the event! Elaine provided a touch-up kit as well. She also loaned me some of her hair accessories such as head band and a veil so I didn't have to purchase any accessories +++ She was on time, even though I was not. She was very friendly and understandable about that. Elaine was very professional and very sweat. I would totally recommend her.

My overall experience is pretty good. Elaine did a great job for my bridal makeup. However, I have only 2 complaints: 1. there isn't a studio/commercial location for her service/company. You will have your makeup trial at the garage of her home. (to me, that's not professional) 2. Only Elaine in her team is really good at makeup and hair service, other artists in the team might not qualify. Some of my bridesmaids and my sister-in-laws were not satisfied with the makeup and hair styles/qualities provided by her team members. So make sure that you don't count on her team members! You can only count on Elaine! But you don't get to choose other option when you have a big bridal party that needs makeup and hair service.
The bottom line is that I would recommend ECHOU MAKEUP to everyone. Elaine herself is very professional and provides high quality of service.

Elaine is amazing! She did my sister's wedding the year before a couple of friends so I knew she did great quality work. The most important thing for me was to look great on my wedding day and she helped me accomplish it. I LOVED my hair and make up. Elaine was on time and very professional. I had Elaine work on my hair and make up as well as my sister's make up. Her friend, Michelle (?) does an amazing job with hair. My sisters and Mother all looked great! The reason I gave her a 4 on quality of service was I didn't like the make up done by the other make up artist she brought. The eyebrows didn't look natural on my sister and Mom and needed to get fixed by Elaine. Also, I think the overall value for Elaine was totally worth it for me because I was guaranteed to look good, but I do think it's on the higher end. Overall I would still totally recommend her for any bride.

I found Elaine by browsing online. What sold me were her before and after shots. She was able to make each bride look flawless without being too dramatic. I wanted a very natural look for my makeup, which she able to accomplish. I just looked like a very polished version of myself. She spent 2.5 hours during the trial to figure out my hair and make-up. We tried 2 different hairstyles when I didn't like the original style. She arrived at the site on-time with her assistant and got everyone done in a timely manner. My sister-in-law has fine blond hair, and they were able to curl it and keep it curly the entire day! And my sister has thick black hair, and also kept her hair curly all day. She also lent me a veil and hair pins for myself and my bridesmaids, which saved me at least $100+. Although she specializes in Asian women, her photo gallery includes women of other races as well.

Elaine and her make up team did a great job and provided a good service. Hair and make up were done in time. I also used the flower service with Elaine. The florist did a wonderful job. It was raining during my wedding but they did everything they can, got everything done in time. Some of the boutonnieres for were huge, didn't exactly come out as i thought it would be but everything else was great.

Elaine and her staff were great. Her prices were reasonable, and she even let me borrow accessories for the wedding. They all arrived promptly at the hotel, and went to work. My bridesmaid looked gorgeous, and both my mother and mother-in-law looked great too. My make-up even stayed on the whole night, even after crying at the ceremony. =)
