Just the best.
We worked with Mary Rickard, who was incredibly patient with our total lack of knowledge regarding weddings, and our incredible pickiness. She took all of our terrible ideas (eg. Can we serve poutine for dinner?) and made them into not only a workable plan, but wicked awesome (eg. How about a poutine bar at cocktail hour instead with two different kinds of gravy?). They took care of everything- I never had to worry at the wedding whether something was happening or not, and I got to stay present and in the moment. Everything went so smoothly with the entire team. The tables looked wonderful, my vegan and gluten-free guests were taken care of (and not in a 'here's your salad' way), and the food came out amazing- everything from the maple lemonade to the wedding cake. An absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. Cannot recommend them enough!Sent on 10/29/2018

East Meets West was the most professional, accommodating, helpful, and valuable vendor for our October 2017 wedding at the Charles River Museum. We worked closely with Brenda throughout the entire process - from choosing the menu, to selecting linens and flatware, to designing a unique floorplan, to coordinating the wedding cake. Brenda was the go-to person on our wedding day, even offering to coordinate with all the other vendors at the reception.
From the beginning, the East Meets West team listened to our requests for a primarily vegetarian menu, giving us many options during our tasting, and even packaging up all the leftovers for us to enjoy afterwards. They continued this generous spirit throughout our wedding planning process, making themselves available for site visits, coming to our apartment to pick up decorations, and doing all the set-up and clean-up after the wedding.
East Meets West provided incredible service throughout the event, assigning us our own server who gave us appetizers and drinks, and checked up on us throughout the evening. The whole team was an absolute dream to work with. We would highly recommend East Meets West for their attention to detail and professionalism, and thank them for making our dream wedding come true!Sent on 12/09/2017

Beth from East Meets West is a rockstar. From the very first engagement we had with her, she has been an incredible partner to work with. East Meets West goes above and beyond - they were enthusiastic with our meal selection, offered insights and tips, and then staged a beautiful trial run at their gorgeous location in Boston! We appreciated EMW's desire to have us try the food, see the place settings, see the portion sizes, etc, BEFORE we booked with them.Sent on 11/05/2016
EMW did not provide the lowest estimate to us, but their proposal was reasonable and detailed. We understood where the costs were going, and are so happy that we went with them. The catering company is the workhorse of the event, which I hadn't realized until engaging with EMW - setting up the ceremony, breaking down the ceremony, setting up the reception, bar needs, apps, booze... but also all of the little things that make an event feel like your own. We felt like they went far beyond what we expected in setting up our favors, cute little signs for our cakes and signature drinks, making sure that all of the different elements felt cohesive during the event.
Speaking of the food... to die for. We heard so many raves from our guests on every aspect of the food, from the appetizers, the entree, and the desserts. The DESSERTS. Oh my. They have an in-house dessert department. We chose a trio of cakes, and each one was unbelievably delicious!
The service was impeccable. As soon as the ceremony was over, one of the servers brought us a tray with all of the apps so we could enjoy them, and our signature drink! This sort of thoughtfulness carried through the entire event. The entire staff was so attentive, skilled, and friendly.
We can't recommend them highly enough. Our day went perfectly, a such a large reason for it was EMW.

Phil and his team at East West were amazing! They provided a level of service and flexibility on our wedding day that met ever single one of our expectations. The quality of the food was amazing, and the dedication given the rainy weather made their attention to detail that much more appreciated. Phil specifically made the entire process smooth and seamless and it help my husband and I feel at ease throughout the entire day. These guys have high quality food, staff, and management. Very much impressed and would highly recommend them to anyone.Sent on 10/03/2014

Overall, the Exchange Conference Center (ECC) was a fantastic venue for our August '14 wedding, and the East Meets West (EMW) food was outstanding!Sent on 09/14/2014
Venue: We were originally drawn to the ECC for its clean lines and decor, soaring windows, great natural light, and uniquely Boston feel. The ECC is very close to several hotels, meaning we did not need to arrange for transportation between the hotels and the venue. Ample free parking for our guests was also a big perk.
Food: Just fabulous. We have been to many weddings where the food is barely better than a school cafeteria. With East Meets West (EMW), there is no question that the food will be fabulous and thrill your most epicurean guests. We also loved how receptive they were to our comments and preferences during the tasting and menu planning.
Service: From a planning perspective, both Rebecca Thomas and Michele Stump went above and beyond- they worked with us to plan our wedding from start to finish. Not only did they have their own great ideas, they were also very receptive to our ideas and helped to turn them into reality. (We considered many other venues before choosing the ECC- it was rare to find someone who would be willing to accommodate requests that were even a little bit outside of the norm.)
The staff was excellent. They hit the right balance- they were never in the way, but they were there when you needed them, often anticipating our needs so that we never even had to ask.
We recommend without hesitation!

So. good. Michele and EMW Catering went truly above and beyond in making my wedding the most amazing day ever. Michele was so helpful in answering all my questions promptly and responding to my requests, even up till the day before the wedding. She was so enthusiastic about my ideas and helped execute them even beyond what I'd thought they could be. She and the chefs were completely accommodating to my food requests, including dealing with vegans, gluten free, and other issues. They also provided ideas for nontraditional food options and delivered beautifully--all of our guests had sky high expectations for the food and drinks and Michele and EMW did not disappoint! We had a completely amazing day and it wouldn't have happened without the terrific staff at EMW. Thank you so much!Sent on 07/05/2014

My husband and I were very impressed by our experience with East Meets West who catered our wedding. We set up tastings at a few different highly recommended companies. The food at each tasting was very good, but did not come close to East Meets, where the food was fantastic. From that first tasting, I started looking forward to the meal I would have at the wedding. Phil was our catering manager and we could not have been happier. He was quick to respond to my questions. He was extremely easy to work with and had great ideas, which put me at ease knowing everything would go right on the big day. Everything had to be brought to our venue, from the kitchen set up to the linens and flatware. Phil handled everything and I did not have to stress in the slightest. In my opinion, the food is extremely important from a catering company, but so is the wait staff service, which is more than simply delivering a plate of food. Unlike many companies, East Meets West understood that. On the day of our wedding, everything ran smoothly and exactly as envisioned. Our guests raved about the food as well as the service. If anyone wanted something, someone was always there to help provide it. The staff was attentive, friendly while being professional, and the food was perfect. I would highly recommend East Meets West.Sent on 05/20/2014

East Meets West is a fabulous caterer. The Boston Exchange conference Center, East Meets West's home base is a hidden gem of a place for a wedding. Everything about our experience with them was perfect. A wedding is the sum of many small details and Rebecca and her staff got every one of them right. Everything went off without a hitch. All the moving parts were coordinated smoothly. Everything looked beautiful, from the table settings to the presentation of the food. The food was exceptional. Both the hors d'oeuvres and dinner were creative and delicious. Rebecca helped them design a creative menu. Many guests commented on how unusually good the food was. Also, the staff was very cordial and professional. We got so many compliments from our firends and relatives. Not only was the food and service terrific, but you were terrific to work with. Rebecca paid close attention to the little details as well as the big picture. The confidence we felt working with her helped make the whole experience more relaxed.Sent on 12/31/2013
The Boston Exchange Conference Center is a great location for a wedding. Our guests loved being on the water looking over the harbor as the sunset. The place has an energy that is great for a wedding.
I can't say enough about these folks and this location. You are lucky if you can snag a date!

I worked with Michele Stump on customizing a cocktail hour and dinner for my wedding. I had close to 140 guests. Michele offered suggestions on what guests enjoy, and was able to help us create delicious options for the bests. Everyone loved the food! The guests said the food was the best ever. They especially enjoyed the filet for dinner and the mini lobster rolls and scallops wrapped in bacon at the cocktail hour. I highly recommend East Meets West as your caterer.Sent on 02/28/2014

East meets West was absolutely amazing! Phil was our catering manager and he was super friendly, responsive, helpful, professional... Just everything you could ask for! He got back to my initial email right away, and had a quote for me the next day. They put together a delicious, unique breakfast menu for us that our guests absolutely raved about. The wedding was held completely off site so everything had to be brought in, from the kitchen set up to the linens and flatware. Phil handled all of the rentals for me and I did not have to stress in the slightest. On the day of everything ran smoothly, the staff was super friendly and professional, and the food was perfect. While it was on the more expensive side, it was absolutely worth every last penny. I would highly recommend East meets West! Ask for Phil!Sent on 06/22/2013

East Meets West was a fantastic catering service! Frank was extremely easy to work with, responded to all questions in a prompt manner, and gave fantastic suggestions/recommendations (all of which I took). The food was delicious. Frank was so helpful. He was quick to respond to any question. We wanted to have a variety at our buffet. Other caterers we talked to gave us a hard time of why we wanted so much food. Frank just went with what we wanted no questions asked. Thank you for a wonderful wedding.Sent on 06/06/2012

For us, food was our biggest concern for our wedding. Everything else was a distant second in terms of importance. We wanted THE BEST food and we were willing to pay for it. Because of the extra importance we spoke with 10 different caterers and did 4 different tastings. Needless to say we gained a wealth of experience and knowledge when it comes to caterers in the Boston area. East Meets West exceeded all the others with the quality of their food. In addition, the price was very reasonable! We loved working with them. Our manager for the night, Phil, was fantastic. If you want the best food for your wedding, food people will be talking about for a long time, then look no further.Sent on 11/29/2011

My wedding was at a private residence in Cape Cod. It was the most beautiful wedding I had ever seen (if I do say so myself!) but a lot of the responsibilities were on my shoulders since we did not have a facilities wedding manager. Frank M. from East Meets West and his staff was more than my husband and I could ever hope for in a caterer. He was not only totally on top of our menu, he was coordinating decor, working seamlessly with my florist, and day of coordinator. Frank was the most responsive person I have ever worked with - EVER. This includes my professional life in an Investment Bank! His attention to detail is amazing and my husband and I always felt like we were in good hands.Sent on 10/12/2010
When we were deciding on which caterer to go to, we booked about 5 meetings in two days. We had booked EMW first and the rest just could not match up to that standard. I am Korean and we had a Korean station at the wedding. My family, who came in from Korea and other places, thought the Korean food was delicious and I believe that was the most popular food station.
Honestly, I can't tell you how fond we are of Frank and EMW and will unconditionally recommend it to anyone. There are cheaper places out there, but I firmly believe that on a per hour/per detail/per easy to work with basis, we got a great deal.
All I can say is that on the day of the wedding, I wasn't aware of any issues...and to me, the mark of a great caterer is to keep all the "issues" hidden and away from view, especially from us! We were, unfortunately, way too busy to eat from all of the stations, but we continue to hear great things about the food, 3 months later, especially the appetizers.

I found EMW to be more than helpful. They responded in a timely fashion to all my inquiries, and managed to create an innovative and delicious menu that worked with our budget. We used them to cater two weddings and although they brought the same level of professionalism to both weddings, the feel of each wedding was unique to to the bride and reflected the personality of both the bride and the venue. i highly recommend !!Sent on 08/09/2010

Our coordinator, Mary Schlaff, was absolutely fantastic. Thank you for making our family celebration such a wonderful and easy event (for us). We were so pleased with everything--the unique details, the professional service and the beautiful food! It was a perfect evening! I credit you with the good advice about location because I consulted with you first months ago about where to have the reception! We have received so many complimentary emails and cards since the wedding and I feel kind of guilty because you folk are the ones that really made it happen but you let me have the spotlight on my special day! We have also had a few inquires about 'who the caterer" was, so we hope that translates in some extra business. We would completely recommend your services to anyone intersted in making their visions of a perfect wedding come true!
WE very much appreciate allt he hard work that went into the event!

We could not have been more happy with East Meets West's Catering services and Frank, our Event Coordinator. Frank handled all aspects of our wedding, including food choice, linens and table/chair rentals, with a unique professionalism and a level of experience that we hadn't felt with the other caterers we were considering. Their wait and bar staff was polite and extremely professional and the food exceeded our expectations. East Meets West was great to work with! Brenda was one of the few caterers we talked to who understood what kind of menu we were looking for. And not only did they understand our menu, but they delivered fantastic food and service. Our guests could not stop talking about the amazing food throughout the entire event and the waiters were attentive, professional and mostly invisible during the night. We were even more impressed by Brenda and Emily's (our day-of contact) total service - not only were they on top of the food, but they helped us shape our vision, coordinated rentals and alcohol, set everything up and packed everything up for us, and generally made sure the day went as smoothly as possible!Sent on 09/28/2016

First and foremost, the most important factor for a caterer is the food, and it was incredible. Every single one of our guests thought that their dinner was delicious; they said that it was as good as going to a good restaurant in Boston or New York. The woman with whom we worked, Beth, was very pleasant and easy to work with. However, the family dynamic was explained, especially the need to keep the couple involved with the planning; yet, there was no communication from the caterer (to the couple) for over six months, until two weeks before the wedding. (Instead, all decisions and communication was directed towards the bride's mother.)Sent on 10/10/2011
The wait staff and bartenders were very efficient and unobtrusive, and extremely professional. The bride always had a waiter ensuring that she had everything she wanted.
Overall, East Meets West is very expensive. However, if you can afford it, the food is definitely worth it.
