East Meets West catered our backyard wedding in June, 2022 - they were fantastic! They specifically designed our menu to meet our preferences (one of us is vegetarian) and cultural background. Leading up to the wedding they helped us get rentals and we had a wonderful tasting (full portions, tons of leftovers). On the day of, they brought in all their equipment and a whole team of staff, who were so professional, quickly and calmly managing all problems that came up (and problems do sometimes happen during backyard weddings!). Plus, the food was delicious - so many guests commented on how much they enjoyed it. We are so glad we decided to hire East Meets West for our wedding and highly recommend working with them! -

We got married September 2025 and had East Meets West as our catering team. We cannot say enough good things about how amazing they were! We highly recommend! From our initial meeting, tasting menu, countless messages/phone calls throughout the planning process, all the way through to the amazing service and incredible food the day of our wedding, we were so impressed! The chef was able to blend themes from my husband's Dominican background into our food choices for the day and it all turned out delicious. Our guests are still saying it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. Catherine served as our wedding planner guiding us through every last detail including our menu, place setting selection, and details for the day of. She and the chef ensured all the food came out hot even when our speeches went longer than anticipated. The waitstaff and bartenders were extremely professional and provided top class service. They were also all so fun once the party started handing out desserts on the dance floor and keeping us all with drinks in hand. Overall, we could not be happier with EMW and our wedding day was seamless due to their incredible work and planning. BOOK THEM! They will take your wedding to the next level! -

Amazing food and service!
East Meets West was amazing throughout our entire wedding planning process! From the initial meeting through our wedding day, Catherine and her team provided excellent service. Beyond providing us catering services, Catherine was super helpful in giving broader advice on timelines for the day based on her experience as a vendor, as well as tips when picking out our place settings. The food itself was incredible and we really appreciated the care EMW put into developing our menu. The passed appetizers were unique and the entrees were so yummy. The service was so smooth the day of our wedding as well. Everyone got their meals quickly and it felt so seamless throughout the whole night. I can't recommend EMW enough - they were an incredible vendor! -

These guys are the best! We use them annually for an event, and their staff and service are top notch. Kind and fun to work with, their attention to detail and focus on quality makes for a great and successful event, and our guests were beyond pleased. Truly enjoy working with this team, and their quality and value for the money is unmatched! -

You know they've knocked it out of the park when weeks later we still have guests mention that it was some of the best wedding food they had. We opted for something a little nontraditional with stations and I could not recommend that enough. It gave ample options for everyone and EMW was incredibly helpful with adjusting to dietary requests while still keeping everything cohesive. I was blown away by the presentation of everything from the succulents on the passed hor d'oeuvres to the accompaniments on the carving station. As a foodie, you cannot go wrong with East Meets West. -

We worked with East Meets West because they are affiliated with The Exchange Conference Center in the Boston Seaport. We loved that everything was onsite and we had a coordinator to help us work with the caterer.
For our reception, we had specific ideas about the food we wanted, and EMW more than delivered! We envisioned stations with our favorite foods for dinner, a dessert buffet, and later night snacks.
We got to taste our hor devours and dinner options, and it really got us excited for the big day.
The stations were overflowing with delicious food, and everyone had an option to pick from, including vegan, vegetarian, nut-free, and gluten-free. Our dessert table also featured vegan and gluten-friendly options. For late-night, the caterer humored us with Brooklyn-style egg-creams and cheese pizza. It was perfect!
Everything was delicious and presented beautifully. And the leftovers to take home was a wonderful surprise. We received so many comments on the food, and know our family will be talking about it for years to come!East Meets West Catering's reply:

We worked with Mary Rickard, who was incredibly patient with our total lack of knowledge regarding weddings, and our incredible pickiness. She took all of our terrible ideas (eg. Can we serve poutine for dinner?) and made them into not only a workable plan, but wicked awesome (eg. How about a poutine bar at cocktail hour instead with two different kinds of gravy?). They took care of everything- I never had to worry at the wedding whether something was happening or not, and I got to stay present and in the moment. Everything went so smoothly with the entire team. The tables looked wonderful, my vegan and gluten-free guests were taken care of (and not in a 'here's your salad' way), and the food came out amazing- everything from the maple lemonade to the wedding cake. An absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. Cannot recommend them enough! -
Em Sent on 12/09/2017East Meets West was the most professional, accommodating, helpful, and valuable vendor for our October 2017 wedding at the Charles River Museum. We worked closely with Brenda throughout the entire process - from choosing the menu, to selecting linens and flatware, to designing a unique floorplan, to coordinating the wedding cake. Brenda was the go-to person on our wedding day, even offering to coordinate with all the other vendors at the reception.
From the beginning, the East Meets West team listened to our requests for a primarily vegetarian menu, giving us many options during our tasting, and even packaging up all the leftovers for us to enjoy afterwards. They continued this generous spirit throughout our wedding planning process, making themselves available for site visits, coming to our apartment to pick up decorations, and doing all the set-up and clean-up after the wedding.
East Meets West provided incredible service throughout the event, assigning us our own server who gave us appetizers and drinks, and checked up on us throughout the evening. The whole team was an absolute dream to work with. We would highly recommend East Meets West for their attention to detail and professionalism, and thank them for making our dream wedding come true! -

Thank you for making our family celebration such a wonderful and easy event (for us). We were so pleased with everything--the unique details, the professional service and the beautiful food! It was a perfect evening! I credit you with the good advice about location because I consulted with you first months ago about where to have the reception! We have received so many complimentary emails and cards since the wedding and I feel kind of guilty because you folk are the ones that really made it happen but you let me have the spotlight on my special day! We have also had a few inquires about 'who the caterer" was, so we hope that translates in some extra business. We would completely recommend your services to anyone intersted in making their visions of a perfect wedding come true!

EMW sliced the gordian knot of our catering the same day we tied ours as a couple
When my now-wife and I began planning our wedding, the catering was an enormous source of concern. Between us, we have large, local families who span three different ethnic/culinary groups, including some elders who have *extremely strong opinions* about food from their cultures.
Our large, multiethnic friend group is more temperamentally chill, but with an intimidating breadth of cultivated palate and a number of food sensitivities. We had selected a nontraditional venue with (get this) not enough space to seat all of our guests at conventional tables and not enough ovens to cook food on site. And we were operating on a budget that did not seem commensurate with the number of people we would need to feed.
East Meets West came to our rescue, led by our lovely event planner Catherine and executive chef Kevin. Their first draft menu was shockingly on-point, as if they knew us and our families better than we knew ourselves. It spoke to the full range of our heritage in creative and thoughtful ways, like serving both Chinese longevity noodles and Italian clam linguini out of takeout boxes. I'm very analytical, and one thing I appreciated was Kevin outlining for me his supply chain, day-of preparation and delivery logistics, and how he was thinking specifically of selecting culturally responsive foods that could be prepared and served under our venue's constraints. They helped us arrange a bit of an unusual tasting needed to win buy-in from our toughest familial customers, and we walked out of that with my wife saying "I am completely sold that they will be able to feed everyone and they will go home well fed having loved the food." We signed the same day.
When the day came, everything was better than we could have hoped — the quality of the food was even better than the tasting, the way they planned the space left no one was waiting, and our guests went home raving (and, at our request, with leftovers in takeout boxes as 'party favors.') Our biggest/only regret from our wedding day is that we didn't get to eat more of our food; one of our favorite photos is of the two of us huddled in the corner of the venue wolfing down some food just before the dance floor opened.
We would 100% recommend EMW to anyone, particularly those looking for caterers with the skills and creativity to carry off something nontraditional. We were absolutely thrilled and it was worth everything we put on the credit card.
I wish we had more food photos, but here is one of the "luau" station with roast pork, bbq chicken, pineapple fried rice, and a tropical salad, all served atop banana leaves. -

Colleen Sent on 10/10/2011First and foremost, the most important factor for a caterer is the food, and it was incredible. Every single one of our guests thought that their dinner was delicious; they said that it was as good as going to a good restaurant in Boston or New York. The woman with whom we worked, Beth, was very pleasant and easy to work with. However, the family dynamic was explained, especially the need to keep the couple involved with the planning; yet, there was no communication from the caterer (to the couple) for over six months, until two weeks before the wedding. (Instead, all decisions and communication was directed towards the bride's mother.)
The wait staff and bartenders were very efficient and unobtrusive, and extremely professional. The bride always had a waiter ensuring that she had everything she wanted.
Overall, East Meets West is very expensive. However, if you can afford it, the food is definitely worth it.
