Highly recommend!
Joe was our wedding DJ, and we couldn’t have loved his service more! He followed all of our requests perfectly, and he did amazing with decisions we left up to him. He started our exit song, Happy Together, at the chorus instead of just the beginning when we exited the aisle, and replayed it at our entrance to the reception when we had told him we had no ideas for it. He was very receptive to crowd, changing the songs when the dance floor got too quiet, and even got our parents dancing! Great vibes all around, hire them for your wedding!! -

My husband and I loved working with them. They helped with coordination because I didn’t have a day of coordinator and the wedding went by seamlessly. The selection of music was awesome and the guests loved it. Many people at the wedding loved it! 100% recommend. -

Working with Dynamite DJs for our wedding was one of the best decisions that we made! Jerry and Joe were both very responsive when we were trying to decide on a DJ to hire. Their down-to-earth and information-filled emails made them an easy choice for us to make. On our wedding day, Jerry arrived early to set up and he ended up making our day perfect! We had told him that we wanted our reception to be a big party with all of our guests out on the dance floor and that’s what we got! He played the music we asked him to while sprinkling in some other fun songs and taking requests from the guests. Jerry made sure that we knew what we were doing at every step of the way. Before our grand entrance into the reception, he made sure that my husband and I, as well as the matron of honor and best man, knew when to come in and where to go after. Honestly, any nerves that we had going into the reception were quickly erased once we talked to Jerry. I would, without a doubt, hire Dynamite DJs again and again! -

Joe is extremely helpful and professional! The website is easy to use and set up very nicely so that you can put what songs you want for each separate event (first dance, walk, father/daughter). We hired him for our wedding, but due to unforeseen circumstances we unfortunately had to cancel. Joe was extremely understanding and accommodating and gave us the option to sell our contract so that we didn’t lose all of what we paid. He is very responsive and a great vendor! -

Jerry was the DJ for our wedding and he was just wonderful. To begin, Dynamite DJ's packages are clear and affordable, and booking them is easy. They have a very convenient website available to you to request music ahead of time. Jerry communicated quickly and clearly and assisted us in finalizing a timeline in the week leading up to the wedding. It was obvious that he had experience working at weddings. On the day of, he was able to provide high quality music and mics for both our outdoor ceremony (which was quite a hike from the venue) and our indoor reception. Music was calm and mellow while we were eating and socializing, but once it was time to party, Jerry had the dance-floor bumping. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend Dynamite DJ's for your wedding needs! -

Joe with Dynamite DJs is simply the best of the best. From our first conversation, I knew he was a pro. He was endlessly responsive, informative, and flexible. He always both honored our vision of the day and gave great advice from experience. Day of, he was seamless. Our day was emotional as we were missing my late father, and Joe was so kind and supportive as we wove in speeches and songs to remember my Dad. He even made sure to video the special rendition of 12 days of Christmas that we sang. We are huge dancers and wanted an amazing party, and Joe certainly delivered. All this for the best price we could find. We are simply wowed and forever grateful. -

Jerry with Dynamite DJ's did a fantastic job with our wedding! He was very responsive and organized when it came to our song selections, and he played everything we wanted during the reception! Their prices are reasonable as well. Overall, great DJ choice for your ceremony and reception! -

Ashley Sent on 08/17/2012Dynamite DJ's is awesome! I picked them because of their great price and got way more than my moneys worth. They answered questions extremely quickly, I was even getting responses to e-mails at 11pm at night! They have an interactive website so you can put in all of your info, song requests, and even songs that you don't want played. Their sound system was great, they music played very clearly and they even bring lights for a light show during the reception. Great DJ at a great price! -

He suggested all the right music and played all of our requests! we even had a light show which was awesome! he didnt have that big bulky old style set up that takes up half the room! he has all new equip that is up to date and really doesnt make anything look ugly and bulky! Non the less everyone had a great time and we got to dance the night away! Will def use them again -

Joe was outstanding! He coordinated my entire wedding day to make the day entirely stress free. He checks in with you constantly and always makes sure he's planning the best experience for your special day. Honestly, I would not have survived my wedding day without him and my day certainly would not have been as scheduled without him. By far, the BEST DJ I'm the world. -

Annie Sent on 07/06/2008Jerry Huddleston was our DJ for the reception, and he did an absolutely outstanding job from start to finish. We wanted a very specific playlist, and he was very agreeable to playing only our music choices---and also updating the list up until the last week. He also surprised us by giving us a copy of all the music we requested. He was involved--announcing the first dance, toasts, etc--but not overly so, and definitely not "cheesy." He maintained professionalism throughout the reception. Also, his music system was very impressive---it was the same volume (not too loud, not too soft) from the front to the back of the room. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great wedding DJ. -

Rhonda Sent on 11/24/2014Awesome, affordable and professional DJ when it came to planning the ceremonial music. Didn't need to be at the rehearsal unless you wanted him to be. Answered all the questions that I had in timely manner no matter what time of day it was. Very flexible during the activities of the reception as we got off track and a little behind with some things but he kept everything running very smoothly.
The only reason why I didn't give Dynamite DJs a 5 star rating was because I felt like the flow and mix from one song to another could have been better when it was time to dance but other than that everyone enjoyed themselves. -

I let my husband pick the DJ since it was something easy to do and he majored in music in college and has experience setting up sound equipment for major artists. The first time that I really talked with Joe was the Wednesday before our Saturday wedding. I really didn’t get good vibes then, but what could I do? I’ve listed out some of the good and bad things about our wedding experience because Joe did do some things well, but the negatives REALLY came close to ruining my wedding.
Pros:
~The offering of special sound equipment for our cavernous venue
~Uplighting included in the price as well as screens for displaying monograms or slideshows
~Very affordable - $900 is quite good for a wedding DJ
~Joe was great at keeping the timeline going
~When the PowerPoints would not play due to IT issues at the Science Museum, Joe did attempt to extract the photos and play them on his set of screens
Cons:
~There were issues with the Science Museum playing Powerpoints that we created. Joe looked right at me and said, "You should have sent me the Powerpoint" with a condescending tone and smirk.
~He did not play songs that I specifically requested, including our outro song. It was something special that my husband and I had picked.
~All of the other vendors came up to us to say congrats and the standard things, but he was nowhere to be found (this is likely due to the death stare I gave him when I heard about the issue below, but it's still courteous).
~The worst thing that happened is below:
My mother had called Joe to discuss playing specific special songs that were to be a surprise to me. This did not go according to plan whatsoever. When my mom approached Joe, she was upset (and understandably probably a little nasty). Words ensued and she started crying. He approached me basically to complain about my mother and ask me what I wanted him to do. He told me that he told my mother to email him whatever it was that she wanted and that she didn't. On my wedding day. While I was walking around greeting guests. How unprofessional. On top of talking to me about my mother, he complained that my guests weren't dancing. Who does that? Here I am trying to enjoy my wedding and he wants to come and tell me what is going on.
To make matters worse, he went to my mother (a separate interaction) and told her "I do 60 weddings a year and how you expect for me to remember what we talked about is beyond me" and that he was driving when they talked. Here is the thing, my mother can be a handful but all he would have had to say is, "I am so sorry what can I do to fix it." It's basic customer service tactics. If you work in a high-stress environment you need to be able to deal with things in a professional and courteous manner. This all played out and I watched my mom cry at her table instead of enjoying my wedding.
~When approached by my cousin regarding a specific song that she knew that I liked, he said, "no one is going to dance to this song" and didn't want to play it despite her specifying that it was for me. In fact, it wasn't until my cousin went to Joe and started suggesting music that people started dancing. It wasn’t that the crowd wasn't a "dancing crowd", the music just wasn’t good. A good DJ can read crowds and adapt what they play accordingly.
Unfortunately, the poor DJ experience really put a damper on my wedding reception. Book at your discretion.
