Malgo did an amazing job on my wedding dress and I couldn’t be happier! I took several dresses to her initially because I couldn’t quite decide which dress I was going to wear but she was very patient with me and kindly showed me some different design options I could consider. Once I settled on a dress, she fixed and redesigned the bustle and it was more beautiful than I could have even imagined! I got so many compliments all night on the big day and a lot of that is thanks to Malgo’s amazing work. I am so glad I entrusted her with my dress, she is so talented and kind and I’d recommend her to anyone.

I came to Malgo after having a negative experience with another seamstress. She was recommended by my best friend and I wish I went to her first. She was kind, communicative, organized, and so talented. I came to her with what felt like an impossible task—to expand my dress without losing the fit and look of the design. She not only delivered, but it was her vision that brought the look to life. I will never forget the day I first tried on the final dress. It brought tears to my eyes and it was the first time I felt like a bride. I will never forget it. Malgo made it perfect and I’m so grateful.

Amazing choice for my wedding dress

I reached out to Malgo to alter my wedding dress and heard back from her quickly- already off to a great start!! Initially, I just wanted to take the dress in and add a bustle which she was more than happy to do. After my first fitting, I decided I wanted to add a new feature to my neckline and reached out to Malgo to get her help getting it done. She worked closely with my mother to source additional fabric and finish my dream dress. She was so pleasant to work with and I always enjoyed our visits with her. My dress fit like a dream! Would highly recommend using Malgo.

I cannot thank Malgo enough for the excellent work she did on my wedding dress and my mother’s dress alternations. She was so sweet to work with and very efficient. Malgo is an excellent tailor. She can reconstruct various elements of your wedding dress in order to make the perfect fit. If there are design challenges, she works through them, discussing every aspect, respecting your vision and making it come alive. Malgo is reliable and you can feel safe trusting her with your important day. She hemmed lace for my dress leaving the beautiful edge intact, which was important to me. Malgo is nothing short of amazing! I planned my wedding in a very short timeframe and I was in the middle of losing weight, and even with all of this going on, Malgo made my dress look absolutely perfect. When I purchased my dress, it was way too big for me but Malgo made my dress look like it was made for me. I got to know her over our appointments, and I even got a little emotional saying goodbye at our last appointment because I knew I’d miss traveling to go see her! My Saving Grace!

Malgo was the saving grace for my wedding gown!! Even with the dress being ordered in the wrong size at the bridal boutique, Malgo was able to work her magic and make the dress look like it was made for me! After the first dress fitting it was clear that she was very detail oriented and was an expert at wedding gown alterations. Beautiful Attention to Detail

I am so happy that I worked with Malgo to alter my wedding dress. She did an unbelievable job. Her attention to detail and perfectionism is unmatched! I did not think I could love my dress more than when I first tried it on and Malgo made it even more perfect. She hemmed it perfectly (even hand stitched portions so that it would match what was done originally by the designer!), adjusted the straps and details of the top of my dress so that it fit perfectly. And the bustle was incredible. No one could believe that she was able to bustle such a long train so beautifully underneath the dress. I highly recommend working with her!

Quick turnaround. Perfect job!

I purchased an off the rack dress at a sample store. My wedding was in 3 months and I was having a hard time finding anyone to alter it within that time frame. Malga agreed to do the job & my dress turned out perfect! I am 4'10" & definitely not a sample size & Malga worked her magic to give me my perfect dress. The Absolute Best!

If you are in the Philadelphia area and need an alteration, don't look further! Malgo altered my wedding dress which had a ton of very intricate lace work. She altered the dress in a way that didn't take away from the original integrity of the dress and replaced some of the lace to make it look even better than when I brought it into her. Her extensive knowledge of how a dress should fit is unparalleled. She caught the smallest details that made all the difference in the final product. For example, Malgo knew that she needed to hand stich some of my dress which I genuinely don't believe would have occurred with someone with less experience. Malgo went above and beyond to make sure my wedding dress fit me perfectly and I cannot recommend her enough!

Malgo saved my wedding dress! She is a true artist

I can’t say enough about how talented Malgo is. I came to her with a dress 3 sizes too big for me, full of intricate lace and beading and an extra long train with an emergency because the wedding dress shop I was working with decided to cancel all of my scheduled fittings 2 weeks before I was supposed to have my first fitting. I found Malgo from a friend that had her alter her wedding dress previously, and I’m SO glad I found her! From the start, she had a vision and was so professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. She knew exactly what to do to transform a nightmarishly fitted dress into the beautifully fitted dress that I dreamt of in a short amount of time. She was so accommodating and listened to all of my concerns throughout the full process and addressed each and every one of them. My dress looked like it was custom made for me on my wedding day, and had the most beautiful bustle (9 points, extremely long train). I can’t thank her enough for making my wedding dress absolutely perfect!

If you need a dress altered - you must go to Malgo!!! I went off on a whim and reached out to Malgo for my wedding dress alterations and I'm so glad I didn't go to anyone else. Wonderful Seamstress!

Malgo is amazing!! I am not originally from this area so I was having a hard time finding someone to do my alterations for my wedding dress, but then I was lucky enough to find Malgo. She was so quick to respond and very pleasant to talk to. Every interaction I have had with her has been nothing but wonderful! I cannot say enough about Dressigner for bridal alterations. The owner, Malgo was extremely professional and attentive to every detail of my gown. My dress required more than the average amount of alterations and although she anticipated an extensive number of hours to get it done, she happily took on the task. She accurately planned out the number of fittings it would take to get the dress perfect for my big day. Despite the setbacks and restrictions due to the COVID pandemic, she was able to complete the project with perfect timing. I felt very comfortable with her timeline, suggestions, and amazing updates on every fitting. The week before my wedding I happily left her shop with my perfectly tailored gown. Malgo was amazing! Her magic transformed my BHLDN illusion lace dress and it fit perfectly by the end. She was very patient and skilled - she booked a few extra fittings than initially discussed to make sure she got everything right and I'm so happy with how my dress looked and felt on my wedding. I have broad shoulders and it took several adjustments to make the dress work but it looked so perfect in the end. So glad I found her! Amazing artist

I cannot begin to explain how lucky I am to have found Malgo. I found her through her reviews online, the Knot, and WeddingWire. I purchased my wedding dress in October 2018 at Castle Couture. At the time, I was a size 20 in bridal gowns. Between October 2018 and my wedding day, I lost 50 lbs and many inches. I was in contact with Malgo in April. She scheduled our consultation for the end of May. Obviously, this dress was a ton of work due to the weight loss. Malgo met with me every week (sometimes multiple times a week). She took everything one step at a time. She always checked the dress on me 2 times before making any cut. My dress was very, very detailed - so many times, doing one thing changed the dress in a different way. She always went back and fixed it to make it perfect. My dress also had a very complicated bustle do to it being so many layers. She worked with my mom multiple times so that she would know how to do it wedding day. She even texted her things "to remember" day of. Malgo is the sweetest lady, she actually seemed more of a friend to my mom and I by the time the dress was finished. Her prices are beyond reasonable. For the amount of work and time she put on my dress, I was expecting to pay much more. She is truly an expert in this field. You will not be upset with choosing her!

Professional seamstress

I was referred to Malgo by 2 other brides I knew, and I'm so glad "they" found her for me. She basically had to reconstruct my long sleeve off-shoulder dress waist up, because of all the detailing I had, from the lace removal and replacement, taking in fabric - but still making sure it fit my body perfectly with movement, and styling my train. Nothing short of perfection

Malgo is an absolutely incredible seamstress and I would take my wedding gown back to her a thousand times over again!! She is always professional, communicative, and obviously passionate about the work that she does. She looks at each dress as a new challenge and won't give up until it is absolutely perfect for each client. My dress needed quite a few alterations, and she carried them out flawlessly. I fully trusted Malgo from day one, and I was absolutely right to do so. On multiple occasions, I remember telling her that she is like a magician at what she does. Not only can she make something that may seem difficult happen, but she will do so perfectly.

Malgo thoroughly reviews the work being done and price breakdown with you before starting with the alterations so that you know exactly what to expect. Her prices are very reasonable and fair. She loves her work and it shows in the quality of her alterations and interactions with clients. An absolute gem

I was completely obsessed with my wedding dress, and I agonized about finding someone I trusted to alter it--I am SO glad I chose Malgo! She is truly an expert and a professional as well as an incredibly sweet person. I bought my dress used, so it had been altered once before, but Malgo took one look at it and it was clear she understood the original construction of the dress and how to keep its shape and integrity, and when she was done it fit me like it had been painted on. Everything stayed exactly in place, was so comfortable, and just truly beautiful. Honestly given the quality of her work, everything else could have been a nightmare and I would still have been thrilled, but Malgo was communicative, transparent, flexible and so lovely to work with, and her prices are quite reasonable given the magic you are getting!

Excellent at Dress Alterations

Malgo was so wonderful to work with! The appointments were well organized and Malgo was quick and clearly knew what she was doing with my dress. When I requested, last minute, for her to make a veil for me, she was able to recommend a length that worked with my dress and was honest when a specific lace choice wouldn't work with my dress. She communicated well with me through the whole process, was very organized and professional, and my dress and veil came out amazing. She comes highly recommended!

Malgo was amazing and comes highly recommended. Malgo is a highly skilled seamstress who is attentive to detail, patient, and a perfectionist--qualities perfect for a bride to be. I'm a petite woman, and she made my inexpensive dress fit me like a glove so it looked like a much more expensive dress. I found Malgo through Internet research and was impressed by the overwhelmingly positive reviews for her work and her pricing. I contacted her with my fingers crossed that she would have room to fit me in. She responded to my online inquiry quickly and was very friendly and professional on the phone. I also appreciated the amount of detail and information on her website to explain the process, which put me at ease since this was my first time getting alterations of any kind. Malgo had a great little studio that made me comfortable, unlike some of the more expensive shops that made me feel intimidated. My dress was second hand and had already been altered in the past. It had to be let out and several holes in the train had to be repaired. Malgo did an amazing job using pieces of lace to patch the holes in the tulle to make it look brand new. She was patient and happy to have multiple appointments to make sure everything was just right. It was wonderful to work with her and I would recommend her in a heartbeat!

MARGO IS AMAZING! At my first appointment I knew she had her work cut out for her because my dress was too small (yes, I went against all the rules and got a dress that was a size too small because it was a unbeatable sample sale & I loved the dress). I was concerned we weren't going to be able to seamlessly get me in that dress without being able to tell it was majorly altered. With Margo's experience she knew just the solution, and didn't judge my poor decision making at all! She cut the sides of my dress and added leftover material from my hem to the sides, it fit perfectly & it was unnoticeable. I also ordered a new BLINGY belt which she put on, got a hem, a bustle & she steamed my dress. From the moment I met Margo, and seen how she knew her way around a wedding dress (she amazes me how she is able to take accurate measurements with only her hands, no measuring tape needed) I knew she was the only one I wanted working my dress! It was absolutely stunning, and I would highly recommend her for ANY wedding or formal dress needs!

When I originally emailed Malgo about my wedding dress, she reached out right away with open arms and so much vivid description about her work, her qualifications and truly made me feel invited to be her client. I went to my first appointment not knowing what to expect. I had my dress which was COVERED in beading and too large for my size and way too long for my height. I had ordered the dress online from J Crew and fell in love with it. Previously, I had been declined by other alterations designers in the Philadelphia area because of the workload that it would take to bring my dress to my size with all the beading. Malgo was not even phased by the beading. She assured me that she would hand sew them on where necessary after any cutting/sewing was done. She was comfortable with the project that I was presenting her. Also, it is important to note that her quote was 110% reasonable.
I decided to move forward with Malgo and left my dress with her that night after she made some initial measurements. I believe overall we had 5 appointments. I do not pretend to know anything about this line of work but my now mother-in-law, who sews all the time, seemed to always be impressed with what Malgo was doing. I can comment on the process that Malgo held true to all of her promises. She did hand sew the beads on and she truly customized my dress to fit my body type. During my appointments, Malgo would suggest ideas that were things that I would have never thought of. We added a small train to my dress and then she created the word’s easiest bustle that just snapped into place for a night of dancing.
I was sad on my final appointment. I really enjoyed my time spent in Malgo’s studio and talking with her. She is a wonderful, genuine person with so much talent. She is Philadelphia’s own Vera Wang. I am so glad that I was rejected by the other local business and that I found Malgo. I felt gorgeous on my wedding day and my dress received so many compliments. Thank you Malgo. <3

Malgo is amazing at what she does! I came to her with a dress that was incredibly challenging. Lots of crepe and a unique open back. She had to sew the entire thing by hand. On my wedding day, it seriously looked like the dress was made for me. It was incredible! She blew me and my family away, and was so reasonably priced to boot. The cheapest I could find in Philly! If you don't book Malgo, you're doing yourself a disservice.

I bought my wedding dress as a sample, and while the fit was nearly perfect, there was a small issue of what to do with the massive train during the reception. I loved my dress so much, I wouldn't consider getting a separate reception dress, and yet, I definitely planned to dance a lot! Malgo was invaluable for making this possible. The dress was not constructed to have a bustle added (because who in their right mind bustles a long train made of thick, heavy fabric?), but was no match for Malgo. She carefully designed, then redesigned, and redesigned a bustle so that I could dance in my dress, while using as few points as possible (saving me money). She designed a beautiful bustle that didn't make me look like a mattress, reinforced the buttons to make sure they could take the weight of my train, and yet kept it so it was invisible when disassembled on a dress with absolutely no embellishments. It took 5 minutes for Malgo to show my bridesmaids how to bustle the dress. My bridesmaid assembled it without Malgo even needing to label the strings, and once in, the bustle held up all evening and night, through hours of dancing.
She was wonderful to work with, and even squeezed in helping one of my bridesmaids with her alterations. Her dress by the end looked like it was custom made for her. We got hours and hours of enjoyment out of our beautiful dresses!

I was really nervous about getting my dress altered. You never know what you're going to get. Malgo was super professional and confident. As soon as I walked in and looked around I knew I had the right person. My dress was already a good fit, just some neckline alterations and a bustle. She didnt try to push me on anything else, which was great. I mentioned having trouble walking and she suggested a special slip to wear. Lo and behold, I could suddenly walk well and bought it.

At a later point,, I was thinking about getting it let out an inch. Brought the dress to someone more local. They looked at her work and went "wow, she did a really good job. you picked the right person." Not something you normally say about a competitor. Made me feel great :) (didn't end up needing to let it out - phew!)

So yes, go go go go go with malgo!!! Super skilled pro.

Malgo was a true lifesaver for me! I cannot thank her enough for the work she did for my dress. I fell in love with a dress and decided to buy a sample size dress that was 12. When I had originally bought the dress, I didnt think much about the amount work that would be required to alter the dress. But soon realized that the dress has to be altered from a size 12 to a size 4 and to make matters worse, I had bead work throughout my dress. I read about the wonderful reviews Malgo had and decided to schedule an appt. Malgo was very welcoming and she has a very cute clean place and right after the first consult I knew that I was in good hands. Malgo made it clear that this wouldnt be easy and will require multiple fittings. I just picked up my dress today and I'm absolutely in love with the way it fits me now and is so excited to be wearing it in a week. Malgo also ordered the corset that I would be wearing with the dress and also made me a beautiful veil. She was always very clear on appt times and if there were any need for rescheduling, she always let me know very early on. Malgo is super efficient at what she does and I will definitely be referring my friends to Malgo. Once again Malgo, thank you so much for the wonderful work!

Working with Malgo for my wedding dress alterations was wonderful! Malgo was so nice, friendly, and easy to work with, and she altered my dress to absolute perfection. It was very important for me to have sleeves to my originally strapless wedding dress so that I wouldn\'t feel over exposed, and Malgo designed sleeves that looked so flawless and matched so seamlessly with the rest of the dress that you would never have been able to tell that they were added on and not originally there. Also, the seam on the bust of my dress was not sown correctly by the manufacturer (Casablanca Bridal), causing very unattractive lumps in that area. This was distressing to me, but Malgo quickly identified the problem and was able to fix it. I highly recommend Dressigner and Malgo!!!

Malgo did a wonderful job taking in my wedding dress. The dress arrived at the boutique with some small problems which they claimed were fixable during alterations. These issues were actually imperfections from the original designer/manufacturer but Malgo did a great job fixing what she could. Malgo is a diamond in the rough. She is tucked away in NE Philadelphia with her personal studio in the basement but it is indeed a wonderful studio.

She is a custom dressmaker as well as a professional seamstress. She is wonderful at what she does. I had an emergency and came to her 2 months before my wedding (panic mode!) but she was able to help me and make the alterations as needed. I'm so thankful for her and her skilled talents.

She altered my bust, waist, hemline and added a bustle in a matter of weeks. She made the dress fit like a glove and I've never had so many compliments on my dress as it was made for me. She made me fee so comfortable in it and beautiful as it fit in all the right places. My day was complete after seeing her.

You can't beat her competitive pricing and she's willing to work with you and address any concerns she may have so you're well aware of what you're getting yourself into. Highly recommend Malgo as she is a true gem.

I highly recommend Malgo for wedding dress alterations since she is very detail oriented and professional. I went to her with a Winnie Couture silk sample gown that was a bit too small for me and she completely reworked the dress so that it would fit for my big day. The alterations end-up involving replacing the zipper on the back of the dress with lacing, and adding 5 inches of fabric under ruching at the waist to make the dress longer. These kinds of major alterations require an expert and Malgo did a wonderful job. In addition to being a very good seamstress, Margo was also extremely sweet and reassuring about getting my dress fixed. I can't imagine having had anyone else work on my wedding dress. Thank you :)

I just left my appointment with Malgo. Let me just tell you, I'm sooooo happy I've found her! I'm from Philly but got my wedding dress in a boutique in Boston so finding a seamstress to make some minor changes to my gown was so difficult. Apparently, a lot of boutiques will not alter your dress unless you've bought your gown at their location. So, long story short, I came across Dressigner, Malgo, and made an appointment bc her reviews were great! I got to my appointment and we got started right away..she is definitely a pro and knows exactly what she's doing! When she was working on the shape of my bustle, she wouldn't stop until it was perfect...although in my eyes it already was! Her studio was near, Very clean space, and not to mention she was a great listener to what I needed for my gown and super sweet.

Malgo was wonderful in every way. The dress I bought to wear for my daughter's bat mitzvah was a one-shoulder affair that came with a large satin wrap/scarf. I needed to have my shoulders covered for the service, but knew that I'd fidget with the scarf non-stop since the material was so slippery. I found Malgo by doing an online search, and contacted her about changing the scarf into a jacket. Malgo was able to design and create a perfect cap-sleeved jacket using only the material from the scarf! Not an easy task, I'm sure.

She was always professional, was flexible when I needed her to be, and made the dress and jacket look like a million bucks on me! I could not be more pleased.

My dress looked absolutely amazing and fit perfectly for my wedding day. I received so many compliments. I enjoyed meeting with Malgo for my alterations. She's extremely skillful. My dress had many pieces of lace and beadings that had to be rearranged, and she did this perfectly. A lot of these pieces had to be hand sewn, requiring a lot of time and patience.

She is also very skillful and creative with helping you come up with the perfect bustle for your dress, your personality, and body type. Mine consisted of about 7 to 9 points, that looked wonderful, and held very well during my reception.

I am so glad I chose Malgo at Dressinger to alter my wedding dress! I didn't pay too much for my dress and was originally finding seamstresses that wanted to charge more than I paid for my dress to alter it. I came across some reviews for Malgo and after our initial meeting knew she would be perfect to work with and the price was right! She is very meticulous with her work and took my opinions into account when fitting my dress. I had a tight fitting mermaid gown, so it needed to fit very well. I got so many compliments that I looked "stunning" on my wedding day! Also, Malgo was also able to take an extra piece of the lace from my dress and sew it onto a sash for my maid of honor to wear at the wedding. It came out beautiful!

Malgo was professional and did a wonderful job with my dress. It was too big for me as it was a sample sale dress but she was able to make it fit me beautifully. I couldn't be more happy with how everything turned out!

Malgo is wonderful. She altered my wedding dress (from J Crew) and tailored to fit me perfectly. It was a simple dress but it needed more alteration then we initially anticipated and she was very patient and calm about the extra work. She is a perfectionist and cares very much about the quality of her work. She made suggestions about the alterations and I am very happy that I took her advice. She knows her craft very well and from inside and out, you can not even tell my dress had been altered. Her work is very high quality and she is very professional. Had I discovered her sooner, I would have had her design and make my dress for me. Contact her early, she gets very busy during the wedding season!

I was looking for someone to alter my wedding dress so my daughter could wear it to the rehearsal dinner. I googled and Malgo's name popped up. We made a reservation and she was very helpful with suggestions. It is hard trusting someone to cut up your wedding dress, but she did a wonderful job hemming it to cocktail length and my daughter looked beautiful. She decided that she would ask Malgo to bustle and fit her own wedding dress. The fit was tricky and Malgo stayed with it until it was perfect. All aspects were wonderful and it fit her great. Her workshop is clean and orderly and she has a very sweet demeanor. My daughter said she saved a bit instead of using the wedding shop where she purchased the dress....and it was also more convenient for her since she lived in Center City.

I am a very short, petite bride and I was very concerned about getting my dress altered correctly. When I found Malgo through a few internet services and saw her rave reviews, I needed to go to her. Malgo is an amazing seamstress. She takes her time during every fitting, and you get nothing but the BEST. She will listen to all of your concerns, and adjust whatever you need done accordingly. She hemmed, altered and added to my dress. It is stunning. I highly recommend Malgo, and I will be going back to her whenever I need work done on any garment. You will NOT be disappointed!

Malgo was a lifesaver! I brought my wedding dress to her after a bad alteration job by another tailor. Malgo fixed the other tailor's mistakes and made everything perfect. She even added removable straps for me that perfectly match the dress. I am so glad I found her and trusted her with my wedding dress, as I love the results!

Great service. Malgo was very professional, she did a great job altering my dress. She is very dedicated to what she does and she loves it. She was very patient with answering all my questions. I didn't feel rushed at fittings and I could choose the style of my bustle from a few Malgo's suggestions. She was very flexible with appointments as well. I highly recommend this business to all who need bridal alterations, this is the place to go and trust. Malgo is very knowledgeable does amazing work and gives a great advice.

I am very pleased to highly recommend “Dressigner” by Malgo Szczepek for dressmaking and alterations. After my wedding in 2010, I decided to have my wedding gown altered into a cocktail dress by Malgo. I found her online and she was very pleasant and easy to talk to, and I enjoyed seeing the photos of her creations. Her studio is very professional and neat, and it is easy to see why she is in demand as a seamstress and designer. Her work is just gorgeous! She does extremely fine and detail-oriented work and she is amazingly talented and particular when it comes to the delicate precision required in her designs and alterations.
Although I do sew myself, I was not ready to tackle such an intense project. My wedding gown is ivory silk, without lace or ornaments, and would show any errors I made. Malgo is a trained and experienced designer, and for her, my dress was a piece of cake! I met with Malgo three times: once for my measuring and assessment of the project, once for a second fitting with the seams basted, and a final time to try on the finished product. I felt very comfortable leaving the dress with her, and she took a deposit and I signed a contract; she walked me through each step. I was truly blown away with the wonderful job she did. The stitching is fine and beautiful, and the dress looks elegant and as if it was a cocktail dress all along. I look forward to wearing it on future anniversaries and special occasions.
Malgo was very flexible when I needed to reschedule an appointment, and she got the work done in a very efficient manner. There is lots of parking by her studio. I would definitely consider hiring her again for future work, and I would certainly recommend her to friends and family who need custom work or formalwear alterations. This kind of work demands talent, expertise, and perfection, and Malgo will EXCEED your expectations! She is wonderful!

Malgo is so nice & professional! I contacted her after finding her online! I was so lucky to have found her! She is truly talented and a perfectionist as am I.

I of course wanted someone I could trust to alter my wedding dress which was big on me. After meeting with her and discussing with her what I had invisioned I knew I could trust and be comfortable with her. My dress had lace, beading, and multiple layer that had to be altered. She handled it with ease! So don't sweat that your dress may be more than she can handle.

She was so flexible with appointments. My dress came our flawless. I had so many compliments on how good it fit me! After she fulfilled her services I took the dress home. She informed my mom to take it out of the plastic and the bag so it would hang and not have any wrinkles! Well.. My mom didn't and it did have some wrinkles I was so upset! I emailed Malgo and she assured me it was not a problem she would steam it again with no charge!

Malgo is a great person and great seamstress she is truly talented and I would HIGHLY recommend her if you want the work done right & she's extremely reasonable!

You should feel lucky to have even found Malgo's website. She is a perfectionists dream come true. I am really skinny, and so even when I ordered the smallest size Maggie Sottero dress possible, it still looked a bit big on me. The dress had a lot of lace, sequins, and details, but Malgo listened to all my requests, recommended her own, and the dress came out absolutely perfect.
I also had a bit of a complicated first dance, and Malgo came up with a really awesome way of pinning it up so that it looked nice and was practical. It looked so nice that I ended up leaving it pinned up for the whole reception!
She is absolutely the best!

Malgo is so nice and very professional. She was extremely patient with me when I was asking dozens of questions and couldn't decide what I wanted do do with my dress. She gave me so many options for altering and restyling my dress. After our constultation she gave me a detaled quote and we both signed a contract which specified all the dates and figures. I could get as many fittings as I wanted without her increasing the price of alterations. She did a miracle job with such a perfectionism and attention to every smalest detail. The most of all is that I didn't feel that my dress was rushed, I got all the time and attention I needed. Her studio is immaculate and beautiful.

I grew up with an immigrant Portuguese grandmother who was a highly skilled and life-long seamstress. My grandmother has since passed, but i was reminded of her while working with Malgo. Malgo was wonderful to work with! She really is an expert at what she does. I can't tell you how many compliments I received on the dress--it fit beautifully when she was done working with it. Working with Malgo for my wedding dress alterations was wonderful! Malgo was so nice, friendly, and easy to work with, and she altered my dress to absolute perfection. It was very important for me to have sleeves to my originally strapless wedding dress so that I wouldn't feel over exposed, and Malgo designed sleeves that looked so flawless and matched so seamlessly with the rest of the dress that you would never have been able to tell that they were added on and not originally there. Also, the seam on the bust of my dress was not sown correctly by the manufacturer (Casablanca Bridal), causing very unattractive lumps in that area. This was distressing to me, but Malgo quickly identified the problem and was able to fix it. I highly recommend Dressigner and Malgo!!!

Malgo is the way to go!

If you have found Malgo by reference or by chance, look no further. She’s the one to alter your dress! I’m so grateful the other 2 places I was referred to were booked and I searched and found her 😅. My recommendations would be for you to book EARLY! She is very, very good at her job, more so a perfectionist, so she will fill up quite quickly and be booked. She works out of the basement of her house so get there a couple minutes early to park and walk around to the back. She will greet you promptly. You will have the opportunity to discuss what you want as far as alterations, time frames, and whether or not she can commit to the completing the alterations to your dress in that time. My dress, was very detailed and, to me, stunning 🤩 so it cost a bit extra. As a bride searching for a dress, often the dress shops are not aware or interested in whether you get the alterations or not, they want to sell you the dress 💰💰💰. Although my alterations were almost $1,000, I was so happy with the outcome. Malgo scheduled about 2 weeks out for every appointment which helped sooo much with scheduling because brides are busy, especially if you’re orchestrating your own wedding. Now, since Malgo is the only person completing your alterations and working on your dress, you may arrive and have to wait. Due to the perfectionism and making the bride feel her best in the dress, appointments do overlap just FYI so plan accordingly. Be prepared to have your shoes and whatever undergarments you will wear for the wedding for the best fit. Malgo is very professional and personable as well. The appointments flew by and in no time, I had the absolute perfect dress. Thank you so much Malgo!

One of the best wedding decisions I made was taking my dress to Malgo. She is the sweetest person and really takes her time with everything she does. I'm pretty shy and uncomfortable speaking my mind but Malgo was so sweet and easy to talk to and has such an eye for detail. Anything I asked of her was never too much, she was completely open to anything I wanted to adjust. My sister went to a different place for alterations and was pretty much told nothing could be done for things that I know are much simpler than what I asked of Malgo. She completely redesigned my dress. I bought a delicate Lazaro tulle ball gown and what she did to it made it look 1000% better. Now when I see pics of the original dress, I can only think of how much more amazing my dress looks in comparison. She made my dress at least two sizes smaller, altered the hem (my dress has a zillion layers and Malgo was patient during the whole process and made it look completely flawless), added padding and redid the chest to make it fit perfectly, altered all of the lace details of my dress, added a piece to make a belt, and created a beautiful bustle. Seriously if you want your dress to look perfect, go to Malgo. Also I love that you can tell she loves what she does because she cares so much to make everything perfect. Even more perfect than I could have ever imagined!! So many compliments all night, I felt like a princess. Thank you Malgo!!!

Malgo was fantastic to work with. She had a pleasant and can-do attitude, her studio is very nice, and she has plenty of space for you to try on your gown. My gown was very delicate and complicated, and Malgo was confident she could alter it and create a bustle where there was none. And she really executed both very well, and on time. The price was very good, and better than the bridal shop where I purchased the gown. My only complaint is that she was a little too busy with other people's items and had overbooked me a little, so I had to wait at her studio when I arrived for an appointment while she was finishing my gown. That said, she was very apologetic and even reduced my total costs to compensate. Overall, I would DEFINITELY recommend Malgo's services, I was just so pleased with her skills.

Maglo did an awesome job with my dress! Since I bought my dress as a sample it had several issues such as: missing buttons, missing bead work and one or two small spots. Maglo was able to transform my dress into the wedding dress of my dreams! Maglo was very pleasant to work with. Thank you!

Malgo created a unique bustle for my dress that was stunning. She also was very creative when she attached my sparkly straps to the dress. The hem was impeccably done. Only complaint is that more attention could have been paid to the fit. Otherwise, great experience!

I had purchased my dress from a shop in New Orleans and am from the Philadelphia area, so I looked for a seamstress online and found Malgo here on WeddingWire. I had many issues with my dress like ordering the dress too small and when I took it to Malgo she said there was no way I would be able to fit into it even if I had lost more weight (I had already lost 25 lbs) but the dress itself just wouldn't fit. I was lucky enough to be able to exchange it for the sample size in-store that fit me and then met with Malgo to discuss alterations. The sample size was actually a little bit too big, and had to be taken it. The bodice was like a corseted top and had a lot of boning, so I had a lot of problems with getting the alterations perfect. At first she took it in a little too much and then the dress was too small. After much frustration and work on Malgo's part, the dress came out perfect and I felt amazing in it. I know she is super busy, but she got it done on time and it took a lot of stress off of my back.

Malgo definitely does great work, but my one complaint with her would be that she seems a bit unorganized and takes on a little more than she can handle. The first appointment I had with her, she forgot that I was coming and had to clean up her studio, which wasn't a big deal. On another visit, she had asked us to come later because she was still working on my dress, but when we got there it was still another 45 minutes until I was actually able to try it on. We were pretty much just sitting there and watching her sew. My mom and my MOH had gotten their dresses altered by her as well and we didn't think they would be done on time, but in the midst of her being so busy, she was able to complete all 3 dresses on time.

I feel so bad saying anything bad about Malgo because she is a wonderful person and in the end made my dress, my mom's dress, and my MOH's dress look great. She has a great space and does good work, but you definitely need to have patience!
