Amazing Wedding Venue & Experience
I don’t have enough words to thank Aileen Roxane Villar, the Venue Manager for Joy Wallace, in charge of Douglas Entrance the Venue. Everything was beyond my dreams. The food was spectacular. There is not one guest that didn’t say that. The staff blew my mind, their kindness and how they always had a smile on their faced made Us and our Guests feel welcome.
She is very professional, easy to work with and was so patient throughout all the planning and executing. Always willing to help and explain everything to us as many times as needed. She worked with our wedding planner, and both, with their magnificent staff, put together something magical.-

A hidden gem in Coral Gables!
Douglas Entrance is a gorgeous venue and was the perfect backdrop to our event. It is truly a hidden gem in Coral Gables!
From my first interaction with the A Joy Wallace team, the Douglas Entrance venue stood out far beyond all others I was considering for our wedding. The venue manager, Aileen, was quick to respond to my initial request for information and offered transparent pricing options for different packages. I fell in love with this historic venue after my first tour, and was fortunate enough to work with such an organized and reliable team, led by Aileen, to plan our wedding in very short (4 months) notice.
They were exceptionally patient and adaptable, accommodating almost all of my “untraditional” requests for a very Venezuelan wedding. I was so happy with the food on the day of our tasting, and it was even better the day of. Execution was flawless from beginning to end, which I never doubted for a moment before the wedding. I always felt full confidence in the team, which is extremely prepared, knowledgeable and professional. Thank you for bringing my vision to life and for a spectacular night we will never forget!-

Douglas Entrance is the place to have your next event. We had our wedding there, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G is all I'm going to say.
The building is historic and its beauty is beyond words. Raul was awesome, very accommodating and helpful. He did all that was possible to make our day special.
I couldn't think of another venue to have our wedding, the pictures came out so amazing! -

Beautiful venue. Such a unique spot in Coral Gables that hasn't been too over done. With the right lighting, the room looks gorgeous in the evening. Raul, the ballroom manager, is awesome to work with and was very accessible. No last minute surprises. -

I found this venue while skimming through a magazine. Thankfully they were available on short notice. They had recently renovated and spruced up everything allowing for spectacular pictures and a picturesque venue. The outdoor fountain was beautifully lit! Their pricing was ridiculously amazing, especially when you compared it to hotel reception rooms and places like vizcaya. Douglas Entrance was the perfect location completing my dreams of a romantic, classic and ethereal wedding! -

Douglas Entrance is a beautiful ballroom. I loved having my reception here. Our cocktail was outside by the fountain (which is gorgeously lit up and plays music if you provide a cd) just as the sun was setting. Then guests went up the beautiful stone staircase, which feels like you are in a castle, to the reception which has a gorgeous ceiling.
Raul is the contact person and he is wonderful to work with, very nice and accommodating. -

We had our wedding at the Douglas Entrance and it was amazing. Their pricing varies depending on the month and time of year. So be sure to get the price for the specific weekend/day you are interested in. Raul was always very quick to call you back and give you whatever information you need. The space is huge and unique. The ceiling is gorgeous. The layout is perfect. The fountain outside is beautiful at night! So many beautiful spots to take pictures! Best part is that you have the entire location to yourself. You don't have to worry about sharing the space with another wedding. Parking is included and there is plenty of space. -

From day one I knew I wanted to have our reception at the Douglas Entrance, the high ceilings, amazing staircase, and it's overall architecture was exactly what we were looking for! Raul was responsive and helpful throughout the entire process, if we had any questions he would respond right away! Our wedding was amazing, and overall the Douglas Entrance is a beautiful venue. Would highly recommend to any bride!

We loved everything about this venue. It was built in the early 20's by the same architect who built the Biltmore. The high ceilings are absolutely stunning. We didn't need much decor because the ballroom carries itself. The stairwell to the ballroom is fabulous and makes for gorgeous photo ops. We had 130 people at our wedding and it was just the right amount. More than 130-140 I think would be too much of a squeeze. The outside area by the fountain was also perfect, especially for a February wedding! We love how all of the pictures came out. We would choose this location over and over again! -

This was the only venue that my husband and I checked out after a recommendation from a friend. We had seen several other venues at other friends' weddings so we had something to compare it to. The venue was beautiful and takes to uplighting wonderfully. It definitely has a historic, romantic feel. We had our cocktail hour outside by the fountain (which can play music from a cd) and our reception in the ballroom. On top of everything else, it is very affordable compared to other venues in Miami. I would definitely recommend this venue. -

Doulgas Entrance is such a beautiful location. It is a historic land mark of Miami, right in the entrance to Coral Gables. It is in a private road with its own underground parking garage, so it makes it very convenient for the guests, and economical because I didn't have to hire car services. The outside area near the fountain was very clean and well maintained with the trees surrounding it. The staircase inside was the selling point for me. It is amazing!!! There is a beautiful chandilier hanging there also. The main room upstairs has the most beautiful ceiling work I have every seen. It is so ornate that you do not even have to go crazy decoration, because you don't want to take away from it. -

Raul was a pleasure to deal with. He would always return my calls promptly. He even called us to see the remodeling of the DE once it was completed to show us. The security during the reception was very nice to deal with as well. The fountain outside had already been turned off and we wanted to go take some pictures the security guard went ahead and turned it back on so my Husband and I can take pictures. I would definately recommend this Venue!!! -

I booked the Douglas Entrance through my amazing caterer, A Fancy Fiesta Production, and it was a great decision. The price was reasonable compared to other locations, it offered me outdoor ceremony (courtyard and fountain) and indoor reception space (to-die-for ballroom) and even a place for everyone to get ready. The venue itself carries so much history and is full of elegance and beauty - it was perfect for our special day. -

This location at first was a compromise between my mother and I as I wanted modern chic and the overall look of the location is not that. I did and do find the location beautiful though. Over time I grew to love it and on the day of the wedding I realized I could not have had our wedding at a better location. The fountain and cocktail area was absolutely gorgeous, and with our decor, it came to life to totally be what I had envisioned. It was modern chic and perfect! Raul was always awesome although a little hard to reach at first (only at first, after our initial meeting and now after the wedding i can reach him in a heart beat) and on the day of the wedding the person left there to make sure all was well and be up to date on time was fantastic. I ended up going over in time by an hour and all I had to do was sign a paper there agreeing to it. I never felt pressured to leave or as if we were being watched like little kids and I really liked that we were given the option of how long the party would be that day. The bridal suite they let you use was extremely helpful for us. LOVED IT! -

Raul Araya, the events coordinator for Douglas Entrance was very helpful in answering my questions about the venue. My ceremony and reception were held at the venue and both turned out great. The only downfall with the venue was that I ordered ColdStone for my wedding and because the venue did not have a "traditional" freight elevator the slab could not make it up to the ballroom. -

When i first went to the venue and met with Raul i feel in love with the venue. As we were reaching up to our wedding day Raul was answering my emails very quickly but the week before my wedding i wanted to confirm that he would have the a/c running at 8 am since my bridal party and myself will be getting ready there as He promised it would be, i never received a response to confirm. Fast forward to wedding day, the a/c in the whole building wasn’t on. My mother went to the security office and the management team on site completely ignored her and her request for the a/c to be turned on. So, therefore my father went to ask them and the maintenance team told him it was on a timer for 9 am (mind you hair and makeup was starting at 8) as we showed them proof of the email from Raul and a very long conversation later they told us “to go have fun” . I tried to reach out to Raul via email (since there isn’t any other contact information for him) and still haven’t heard a response back about the situation (it’s been three weeks since my wedding). Lastly there was an on-site supervisor who appeared sometime before cocktail hour who was also not friendly to my wedding planner after showing proof of another email from Raul (which he called him and was told that there was no recollection of what we had email proof stating from him). Overall, thankfully to the amazing team of vendors, my family and bridal party my actually wedding and reception was beyond beautiful. The venue itself was a breathtaking backdrop and has so much potential to be a well known place in Miami for Events. Hopefully, no one has to experience such rude behavior the morning of their wedding as i had to deal with. The only thing i would of change during my experience was getting ready at another location.

I fell in love with the Douglas Entrance from the moment I walked in, and in the end I don't have regrets doing it there. But there were many bumps and flaws. First Raul is impossible to get a hold of. Everytime I called he was unavailble, and the few times I visited with appointments, I would have to sit and wait for him to be found around building. They say the ballroom can fit up to 250 for sit down, don't believe them. The day before my wedding, Raul instructed the maintenace to turn and set-up the dance floor long ways which eliminated about 5 feet off of each side of the ballroom and made it impossible for me to fit my tables for my 170 guests. Very unhappy with their response to not being able to flip is back around (the direction it has always been) on the day of my wedding, ending with very cramped tables and uncomfortable guests. This of course was devasting to me since I work in architecture and worked very hard on a floor plan using a special design program to stratigically layout the tables and seating in the ballroom so that it would all fit perfectly. -

I love the Douglas Entrance however I was not pleased with their service. They failed to notify me that the fountain had been broken for a month and I found out the DAY OF my wedding that the fountain was broken, no water inside and my ceremony was supposed to be around the fountain. Also, Raul is difficult to reach. The guards are very rude and they wouldn't even move the nasty black tables/chairs for my ceremony because it was the "smoking area" and they can't do anything without Raul's permission. Raul was never to be found or reached so my wedding pictures have a smoking area in the background. Luckily, the reception in the ballroom went perfect. -
