Beauty and Elegance with a touch of Convenience
If you are looking for a beautiful ballroom to host your wedding- look no farther than the Riverside Ballroom at Crowne Plaza. From the moment you step into the lobby you can tell that there is nothing cheap about this hotel. You’re surrounded by beauty on every floor. Kristin was super helpful and when planning a wedding during COVID- 19, she was more than accommodating. Elegant seemed to be a theme word surrounding my wedding and that all started with choosing Crowne plaza. If ever asked if I would recommend them, I would say yes 11/10 times. The cherry on top?? Walk right upstairs to your hotel room at the end of the night. Why bother with a shuttle? My guests raved about the fact that they did not have to plan around shuttle times. A few also decided then and there that they wanted to get married at a hotel ballroom. I think I’ll be attending a few more weddings here in the near future! -

The entire team at Crowne Plaza was beyond exceptional! From our multiple date changes to changes in our guest count, Kristin, the banquet manager, was SO supportive and understanding. Kristin and her team ensured that our event went flawlessly and for that we are so very thankful! Amazing, beautiful wedding
Our ceremony on new years eve was everything we imagined it could be, even though we had to postpone the reception until this new years eve. From the executive suites to a rehearsal reception the staff at Crowne Plaza were professional and exceptional. We look forward to having Crowne Plaza host our future events.-

Excellent, highly recommend!
We had our wedding reception here in July. The venue's food was absolutely amazing. All of our guests raved about our food selection! The suite we stayed in was amazing and everyone was super helpful. Allison was an AMAZING contact and super helpful with all wedding questions and details. She made our experience so special with all of the details that she arranged for us. The Riverside Pavilion room is magnificent on its own and was the perfect spot for a wedding reception. I highly recommend this venue for your wedding reception. -

Allison made my wedding 5 Stars
From beginning to end Allison was there! She answered EVERY email, phone call and text message. She made me feel confident that my daughters wedding would be amazing and it was! My family is still talking about it months later. I feel that had it not been for her it would never have been the event it was! -

A Wonderful and Relaxed Wedding Planning Experience
We got married in October 2018 and started planning in January 2018. Allison made the whole experience stressfree and helped us with suggestions as we were not very well versed in planning weddings. Things we didn't need, she had no problem eliminating and things we wanted, she went well out of her way to accomodate. This includes contacting an outside brewery for us to make sure we had our favorite beer as our signature drink.
We used the Riverside Room for our wedding reception and one of their cocktail rooms for our cocktail hour. Both were beautifully and meaningfully decorated without us having to lift a finger. Allison was responsive to all of our questions even if we got repetitive and made us feel like we were her only clients.
We've been bragging about our reception and experience and have been recommending the Crowne to anyone who will listen. Thank you so much Allison!!! And congratulations to anyone looking for a wedding venue!!DoubleTree by Hilton Cherry Hill Philadelphia's reply:

Having our wedding at Riverside at the Crowne Plaza was amazing! From the moment we booked the venue the service was outstanding. Allison Daly went above and beyond to make sure the planning process was stress-free and that everything ran smoothly the day of the event. The staff during the event were excellent and made sure all of our guests were well taken care of! We would definitely recommend booking your wedding or event in the Riverside at Crowne Plaza.-

Positive: Great food, unique venue and beautiful riverside pavilion, lots of space, private riverside patio area, 21 wedding per 1 day, Cheryl Latvala our main contact/planner was perfect! Nice views, very flexible and the riverside was very private.
Outstanding Staff: Cheryl Latvala (Director of Events) she was so knowledgeable, pleasant, prompt, VERY FLEXABLE and very talented with her ideas.
Roger: He was our main server and was amazing! He was there to help us run our wedding and took very good care of us!
Jenna: She was very helpful with our vendors and kept checking on us.
Negative: Rooms were outdated, guest could not check in until 02:00PM,No live music in the Lounge, No free transportation and no free breakfast.
All in all, I could not have asked for better service and value. We loved our wedding and all that this team had done to help make out day perfect!

So happy and had the best day ever!!!! Me and my husband (officially) had our wedding dinner, cocktails and ceremony here with lots of guests staying over. The only issue we had is that the guests had to check in around 2 and I was hoping for earlier. I can't imagine some of these bad reviews because my experience was honestly close to perfection! Cheryl latvala was awesome and was really flexible. She even worked out prices and did our contract 4 times because we made so many changes. I also want to brag about Roger who was also awesome! I read a review that said she was so upset and that they hated her wedding....it looks like someone is trying to get some $$$$ back that went over budget ( just saying) all in all I loved my wedding and cheryl was amazing! These people on here need to stop complaining because its just not possible! Best of luck to all but this place is fantastic! -

Had my wedding and ceremony here and it was more than I could have asked for. The staff, food and catering director Cheryl Latvala was extremely helpful and made our day smooth! We choose this place because it has so much to offer and Cheryl Latvala worked so hard to get as close to our budget as possible. she is so flexible that she held our date for 3 months without a deposit because we just didn't have the money up front. I could not have asked for a more flexible wedding planner. Also, a lot of venues have a minimum but Cheryl was so kind to lower that to our comfort zone. She also had some great ideas that helped make our ceremony stunning without breaking the bank. My family and I are forever great full and can't wait to go back and visit! -

I hosted my daughters wedding in the riverside pavilion because it was one of the most beautiful rooms I saw on our venue search. I have to say that my daughter and I are extremely picky and detailed originated. Cheryl Latvala who was our main contact made everything go so smoothly and everything was in the exact location as we requested. She was very prompt and informative. Cheryl also referred all of our vendors and gave us many ideas that we used. The banquet manager (Mohammed) was also very attentive and kept making sure that we were taken care of all night. The food was wonderful and we have no complaints. During the holiday season our family members kept talking about how fantastic the wedding was and we could not have asked for anything more. -

The best day of our lives!!!! Words cannot express how special and perfect our wedding was! We feel so blessed to have been able to have our wedding in the Riverside Pavilion. If it wasn’t for Cheryl Latvala (Catering Director) this would not have been possible. My husband and I were on a budget and she was the person who made our wedding happen! I have looked over a negative review and its so distributing how people can say such things knowing that Cheryl Latvala was the one who gave them such a great deal! If you are a bride and groom looking to get married this location is breathtaking! It does not have that typical “Venue” wedding look and we were the only couple getting married! That made us feel so special and VIP!
The food and Chef was amazing and very helpful throughout of tasting experience! The rooms could be updated but they are very clean.

A Truly Flawless & Magical Day
My wife and I had our wedding at the Riverside pavilion and we had the most gratifying and pleasant experience. Cheryl Latuala (catering manager/coordinator) made us feel so at ease and made our process go so smooth. We could not have asked for better service and knowledge of professionalism. (THANK YOU)!
The hotel has been updated and the riverside pavilion doesn’t look like your typical wedding venue. If you’re looking to spend the day as the only wedding in a really awesome ballroom is the best location!
The food and servers (Bartenders too) were so accommodating and made our guests feel like they were all VIP’s.
My wife and I are so thrilled and we will officially give the Crowne Plaza and Cheryl Latuala a perfect 10!

The Best Wedding & Service-I felt like a Princess!!!!!!!!!!!
I almost didn’t book my wedding at the Crowne Plaza based on these reviews. I’m so happy that I didn’t make my decision off of this website, but I followed my heart!!! We had the best day of our lives!!!! Cheryl Latvala (Director of Catering) was extremely, knowledgeable, helpful, accommodating and went above and beyond what we imagined!
Besides the tented Ballroom she was a big reason on why we booked this location!
Our families planning process was extremely smooth and Cheryl was always available and prompt. (The servers were helpful too)
Food & Catering: As far as the food, it was the BEST!!! Our family and friends are still talking about our special day and how much fun they had!
Guest Rooms: The rooms were very nice and had fantastic views! You also get a bridal suite for 1 to 2 nights! This was helpful for my hair and make-up artist
Value: Cheryl really helped make this happen. She was very helpful with our budget of $35,000. and was very flexible! She is the reason we were able to make our day happen!
Lastly, my husband and I are so grateful and can’t wait to see our photos!!

Crowne Plaza Cherry Hill was an amazing place to have my reception. Cheryl Latvala who was director of Catering at Crowne Plaza made sure that my every wish was taken care of and that I had no worries! Her team truly made me feel special on my wedding day and went over and above to make sure that my guest were happy as well. I had my wedding reception at the Crowne Plaza on April 20, and it was a wonderful venue. Leading up to the day, the manager we worked with, Allison, was friendly and helpful. The day of everything went smoothly and was in place without me having to worry about anything. Everyone commented on how delicious the food was. My reception was in the riverside pavilion and it’s a beautiful tented ballroom with nice lighting and plenty of space. The hotel itself is lovely and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. This is a beautiful location with excellent food for a reasonable price, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a location for a reception. -

The venue was very accommodating to any personal touches I wanted to my wedding. The wedding day went smoothly, the event coordinator was present and extremely helpful. Anything that I needed was taken care of.
The food was amazing! The chef also incorporated some of my cultural food into the cocktail hour. We used the Riverside ballroom, which is just romantically gorgeous!
My only recommendation for improvement is that the events coordinator/ assistant need to be more responsive to emails and calls during the planning phase. I didn't use a wedding planner, so there were times I had questions but sometimes had to wait a few days and keep calling to get a response. Regardless, if I had to do it all again, I would choose this venue again. -

It took me a while to review b/c at the end of the day our wedding was beautiful and what we wanted. However, certain things (albeit, outside of the control of Neil, the events manager) stressed me out leading up to and on the day. I'll start with the good. The ceremony was held in one section of the grand ballroom and it was beautiful. The Reception space was amazing. It was in the remaining two sections of the Grand Ballroom, which was not what we were originally contracted for (more on that below). It was draped with beautiful white muslin drape to mimic the draping in the Riverside Pavilion. The staff set the tables as discussed. Overall, the food was delicious. Throughout the night, we had 2 bars to assist our guests so there wasn't much waiting around for drinks.
The wedding was beautiful. However, this came after 3 stressful unforeseen circumstances. 1) We started our planning process with Cheryl, who was nice but at times she was unresponsive. Her level of communication became so poor that we found out after calling, several times, that she no longer worked there and hadn't for months. Someone from Crowne Plaza should have called us (or returned our calls) to let us know who was helping to coordinate our wedding. But Neil was hired and he was extremely helpful and probably better than Cheryl would have been. 2) We were supposed to be in the Riverside but were advised 2 weeks before our wedding that delayed maintenance to the roof and a recent storm had made the room unusable. But Neil, at the hotel's expense, hired someone to drape the grand ballroom to make it just as beautiful as the Riverside. 3) Unfortunately, the beautiful drape was draped over the AC vents making the room extremely hot. But to cool people off, all the guests were given smoothies. I feel like these situations could have been avoided so I give high marks solely b/c of Neil's hard work, & him taking care of us. Had it not been for Neil, I would have given the hotel lower marks. -

Ceremony was held in a section of the grand ballroom. This was beautiful. My only complaint is that the candles that we provided, were not lit for the ceremony as I had asked. Cocktail hour was perfect. was exactly as I asked. Hourdervs were being served as well as cheese and veggie trays available for our guests to help themselves. Reception was amazing. The tables were set as discussed. Our candy buffet was displayed beautifully. We had 2 bars to assist our guests so there wasn't much waiting around. We had a beautiful wedding. This came after much stress due to communication issues with the staff. Cheryl's very nice and helpful but at times she is very hard to get a hold of. It appears she works all weekend when there are events and she's off during the week.
The reservation staff apparently has their own computer system. They couldn't find our bookings, group block, coordinate with Cheryl about the early check in. they told my groom to check out at noon when we had the room until the next day. When that was straightened out, they told us that the bridal suite needed to go. It was awful. We had it cleared up and got free mimosas and a complimentary "fruit tray". A plate of assorted fruit which included grapes with dirt on them. the day after the wedding- the fire alarm sounded in the halls. I got a call from 1 of my guests who was getting us coffee, to alert you of a fire alarm. They were evacuating the building. Would be nice if we could hear that INSIDE our rooms. After the fact, I found out that most of my bridal party slept thru the alarm. Thankfully the chef had just burnt eggs. Had this been a real fire, would they gotten out alive or would my photographer had captured the last smiles of these faces??
So, Crowne plaza Cherry Hill for a wedding if you don't mind a little stress. But I'd sleep at the Holiday Inn up the road. -

The events coordinator was helpful, but messed up the paperwork. However, she did show us around to some rooms but did not put the wedding party on the same floor like the said she would. Don't leave anything behind either because you will not be getting it back. Also, two of my guests had to change rooms due to dirtiness and non working bathrooms. But we got locked out a few times and they were very helpful with that. -

pretty good to work with. there was confusion about the cost and how many people that would cover. he never gave my husband the priority club points that his mother spent - which was the arrangement, and ignored both of our calls/emails regarding that, which was annoying. anyway, the people at the hotel were nice. -

I was nervous about booking at Crowne Plaza due to some of the reviews, but it was the only room my husband and I both loved. We had our cocktail hour there and the reception in the Riverside Pavillon. Our wedding was beautiful, the food was great and the maitre d was very attentive and so sweet. We had a few problems with the candy bar and the brunch the next day which we worked out. I must say Cheryl (the wedding coordinator we worked with) is hard to get in touch at times with and sometimes you have to email her more than once which can be stressful. Most of our problems were on the hotel side of the wedding. People were told there were no rooms left on our hotel block (which was not true,) weren’t given rooms they were promised and some weren’t given the welcome bags. My mom had booked certain rooms and when the wedding day came, she did not get them. She was very upset, but Cheryl handled it and said the rooms would be comped. Weeks after our wedding, the rooms still weren’t taken off her charge card. I contacted Cheryl and she said it was taken care of and would come off in 7-10 days. A few weeks later, still nothing was taken off. I emailed Cheryl multiple times and still have not received a response to this day (it has been 5 months since our wedding.) My husband ended up contacting a manager and had it taken care of last month. I think it is so unprofessional and wrong to completely ignore someone that just spent a lot of money at your establishment. In the end, our wedding was wonderful, but I don’t think I would book there again due to all the headaches and extra stress. -

We booked the Crowne Plaza Cherry Hill for our ceremony venue and for our guests to stay; when we initially booked, I was under the impression that someone would be there to help organize the ceremony and tell people where to go. That literally did not happen. I was directing people to go down the aisle as the bride, from the back. Luckily, there was some people in the hotel that helped my mother-in-law as she decorated the plain stage with hotel sheets to make it look more presentable. Our guests had a really hard time booking rooms and it was difficult communicating with the hotel as the woman we signed the contract with had left and no one from the hotel notified us until we asked about 30 days prior to the wedding. -

If your planning a wedding I would highly recommend staying away from this venue. I has my wedding here and now wish I didn't because the overall stress the venue and coordinator gave me was not worth having it here. They were unprofessional in responding to phone calls and emails, we would have to send them multiple emails and leave multiple messages and even then it would take them weeks to respond and give you answers. I know many couples who had taken back their contracts after seeing how the coordinator is. Then they falsely charged my credit card with charges that I did not know about and still never called me to explain. Overall bad experience and if you want to save yourself added stress, don't have your wedding here. -

I was very disappointed with the wedding event manager Cheryl Latvala everything I mentioned I wanted at cocktails or in the hotel or the reception in the Riverside was not what I aked for or was told. I mentioned 3 times and sat with Cheryl 3 days before the wedding that there would be elderly and quest with knee and back problems to have 2 reserved large tables with reserved and names on the tables, I walked in the terrace room 10 minutes before it was to start and there was no reserved tables just three mini table with 2 or 3 chairs and no reserve signs on the little tables which I gave her a list of the names that needed to be seated, since you couldn't handle that I had someone call Cheryl to the cocktail area which she did respond and that was the last time of the whole event I saw her or heard from her the rest of the night. I had to ask anyone to please take me to the main room for the dinner and what I was promised was not there. The rugs needed to be vacuumed and the bathroom floor were dirty, I don't think as the mother of the bride and the host of the wedding I should be pointing things out 10 minutes before we were ready to enter the hall. Maria (the bride) and I sat with Cheryll on Tuesday night the week of the wedding to expleain everything and had it typed the list of how we wanted things done and was told everything would be takien care of. We did not want the favors on the tables and told Cheryl to put them out toward the end the night (they were on the tables). We mentioned the bridesmaid table would not have a candlelabra at their table they had a a glass bowl to put their bouquets in, one of the quest came to me and said we don't have a centerpiece I asked one of the men there since Cheyl didn't think it was her place to be there or let me or Maria who would be in charge that night there wasn't enough candlelabra since the bridemaid table had the glass bowll,plus a candlelabra on their table (the groom carried it himself to the quest table). I got a lot of complaints that the room was so cold and sat with coats on, I know you can't have a warm reception room but you could of put heat on to get the chill out and then shut it off. The servers worked very well and did everything they could do for us but that is not their responsiblilty, Cheryl should be there to correct anything that we needed corrected. -

I had the WORST experience as a bride at the Crowne Plaza. If you are even thinking about meeting with Cheryl Latvala, don't! I would not want anyone to have the experience I had on their wedding day. I have so much anger and frustration from the lies that came from Cheryl and this institution.

By far one of the worst experiences. We were attending the wedding of my neice. I had a lot of input into the wedding so I knew what to expect. Nothing that was promised or confirmed was accomplished. Rooms that were confirmed had to be argued for. Bridal suite was to be the presenditial suite on the 14th floor with the rest of the family staying on the same floor as we did not want to be traveling up and down on the elevators on the day of the wedding since we had professionals coming from New York to do hair and makeup. Good thing i saved all confirmation information, because they tried to put the bride 4 floors below everyone else involved in the process. Bridal suite was not outfitted with what was requested and promised. The cocktail hour was sorely representative of what they promised. The main reception room was not completed on time. Complaints from the wait staff were expressed to the quests i.e. decrease in wages due to the fact that the facility had changed hands several times. They had 2 other affairs and definately could not accommodate all parties. The food was not up to par and not representative of the tasting that we had a few months earlier. Breakfast buffet if that's what you want to call it was a mess. Dirty table cloths on the table, cold coffee. I could go on for days but it's over, I just hope someone who is having or thinking of having a affair there reads this.
Regarding the banquet manager Cheryl Latvala, who by the way was not the banquet manager when we booked the affair gave us nothing but lip service.
Considering they had three affairs going at the same time you would think all four elevator banks would be working, but that was not the case,only two were working at any given time.
I have been to and run many affairs and I would just like to say this was an embarrassment. I would never recommend this place to anyone,and please if you are going to have your affair there double and triple check everything and good luck.
