Most Beautiful Wedding Day!
Dorothy and her team did a fabulous job with our daughter's wedding flowers. We live out of state and Dorothy worked so well with us to coordinate the event. The arrangements were absolutely stunning and our daughter's wedding day vision was just perfect! Thank you! -

Dorothy did the flowers for my wedding and was absolutely phenomenal. I shared a loose vision and color scheme, and she did the rest. She read between the lines, and delivered incredible arrangements that tied the whole day together. The bouquets were gorgeous, the ceremony pieces were perfect, and our reception looked like a dream. Zero stress, clear communication, and results that exceeded what I pictured. I’m so grateful and would recommend her to anyone. -

I always dreamed of the day that I could walk into Dorothy McDaniel’s Beautiful Floral Shop and share with her that my daughter and I wanted her to make the GORGEOUS Bridal Bouquet, Flower Arrangements, Table Decor, Stage Presentation… all things beautiful… and my daughter and my dream came true on April 12, 2025!!! LOOK NO FURTHER THAN DOROTHY MCDANIEL IF YOU WANT THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FLORALS AND THE MOST PERSONALIZED, KINDEST PROFESSIONAL AND AMAZING TEAM EVER!!! You will be so thrilled that you truly have made a ONE STOP SHOP when you choose DOROTHY MCDANIEL FOR YOUR WONDERFUL EVENT… in our case, my daughter’s WEDDING!!! I began planning months early and my daughter and I had our “vision” and how positively wonderful that when you choose THE BEST, which is DOROTHY MCDANIEL, you actually meet in person, one on one, with Dorothy!!! From our very first meeting, my daughter and I were so thrilled as we knew that Dorothy truly listened and with her vast knowledge and expertise, was able to help us envision our vision!!! Dorothy understood and respected always my budget and worked magnificently with modifications that did not compromise my daughter’s wishes nor the look I truly wanted!!! Dorothy has an incredible team dedicated to making every aspect of the “big day” perfect and seamless!!! Gorgeous, huge floral arrangements were going to be “repurposed” from the wedding venue to the reception venue, and Dorothy herself came to both venues on my daughter’s wedding day to look over and inspect everything AND had her team spot on and right on time to get florals from the Chapel to the Fennec!!! AMAZING!!! Being able to repurpose was magnificent and another wonderful thing that makes my daughter and me so happy about having DOROTHY MCDANIEL’S EXPERIENCE AND EXCELLENCE is that at the conclusion of the event, you are indeed welcome to take all floral arrangements that you would like (not the beautiful containers😉) but for those not collected, Dorothy and her team distribute these gorgeous flowers to Cancer Patients throughout the city and donate them to Abused Women and Children that might not otherwise ever know such joy, beauty and genuine kindness!!! I hope that you truly help make one aspect of planning your dream wedding easier on yourself and choose DOROTHY MCDANIEL FOR ALL YOUR FLORAL DREAMS… She will make them come true!!! P.S. We chose Dorothy McDaniel's Flower Market because they were an established business and had many people on their staff for the day of. We wanted a florist we could trust and count on. The other two florists we contacted did not provide a quote, and I later learned that many just want you to sign a contract committing to a minimum amount without an idea of how much the total would be. I like to know in advance what I'm committing to, and Dorothy provided that detailed quote.
Dorothy and Wes met with us as many times as we needed and patiently listened to what we envisioned. They delivered the most beautiful flower arrangements at competitive prices (we got one other quote). Their flowers stayed fresh for weeks after the wedding (brought home a few arrangements). We got so many comments from our friends regarding how exquisite, classy and elegant the flowers were. I highly recommend them! Miyoko Hattori Kelley -

Beautiful flowers and excellent customer service
Fantastic service and amazing quality! This was my first time working with Dorothy and her staff and they did not disappoint. I hosted a bridal shower at the Birmingham Botanical Garden in early May and just based on a few inspirational photos Dorothy and her team were able to create masterpieces! The quality of the flowers and colors were phenomenal. I would trust them with completely with any event. Thank you Dorothy and team for helping to create an amazing event and one that attendees were talking about for days after. -

Mother of the bride
There is no other floral designer that I would use to pull together the wedding of my daughter’s dreams. My daughter had very specific ideas that she wanted and she collaborated with the entire staff as well as her wedding planner. They were all incredible to work with and truly made her night magical and different from other events we had seen.
Dorothy and Wes, did not let one detail go unnoticed. It was the easiest wedding to plan with them by my side -

Dorothy and team handled our son's rehearsal dinner and Post Toast. It was important that our flowers compliment the wedding/reception but stand out uniquely on their own. AND wow - did they deliver! I wanted a contemporary modern feel and the flowers were exactly as I had envisioned. As a groom's mom out of state, they offered me choices and were very flexible when the space was re-worked which impacted the floral arrangements. Thanks Dorothy and Team... everything was beautiful! -

I reached out to Dorothy about 7 weeks prior to our wedding. We had to fire our planner who was also handling floral and decor for us. Her pricing was competitive however the quality far exceeded our original florals, which was not something we expected on such short notice. Her staff was fast and professional with setup, and we got tons of compliments. The bouquets were incredible and the arbor for the ceremony was stunning. Everything was delivered in vases and kept fresh. I can't say enough good things about Dorothy, if you want high end florals and great attention to detail, she is the best. Her pricing is surprisingly reasonable, you will 100% get more than you pay for. She can also take care of stationary, chairs, heaters, dance floors, linens, and pretty much anything you need. Go to her first! I wish we did, but I'm grateful we found her! -

Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding Reception
I feel like everyone in Birmingham knows Dorothy McDaniel’s Flower Market. Dorothy is legendary for her amazing taste, floral skills, attention to detail, and her warmth and interest in assisting clients. But for anyone new to town and having an important event that requires anything from invitations, linens to florals….there is one best option…Dorothy Mc Daniel’s Floral Market. Dorothy and her team handled my son’s rehearsal dinner. She guided me through invitation selection, linen selection, floral and lighting decisions, and even weighed in on menu and bar decisions. The evening was perfect. In addition, Dorothy suggested that I repurpose the flowers from the rehearsal dinner for the wedding reception. For a nominal fee, her team kept the flowers overnight in refrigeration, freshened flowers where needed, and delivered them to the reception site. It was unbelievable. Switching vases as well to work with the colors for the reception. I didn’t even know that was possible. Dorothy and her team made my son’s wedding weekend absolutely amazing, and one I could truly enjoy because I knew they had everything handled. -

Three hours before my daughter's wedding, the church wedding coordinator called to say our contracted florist had left us high and dry- no flowers at all for the sanctuary. Luckily, my mother was able to get in touch with Dorothy. Despite having two other weddings that day, she created two stunningly gorgeous arrangements and delivered them to the church with time to spare! Dorothy McDaniel is not only a gifted floral designer, she truly cares about her clients.

Dorothy and her team created not only the show stopping floral arrangements for my daughter’s reception but handled every part of the event space decor. Her team set the mood for a wonderful night from lighting to linens and everything in between. They are event planners extraordinaire!!! -

Dorothy McDaniel was the florist for our wedding. The beginning of our life together as husband and wife, the genesis if you will. The flowers matched this title as they appeared to come from the Garden of Eden. To say we and our guests were pleased is an understatement. The flowers were fresh, crisp, aromatic, vibrant in color and beautifully arranged. To say more is to obstruct. The photos pay meager homage, but bring memories to cherish. -

Dana and Dorothy are full of modern and fresh floral ideas, with a business etiquette rarely found in the floral industry. I loved working with them while planning Mayor Bell's daughter's wedding - they completely blew away my bride's expectations and I can't wait for the chance to work with them again. Simply give them your vision and they will turn it into the reality you didn't know you needed. Highly recommend.

They exceeded my expectations and were so easy to work with from out of state. The flowers were absolutely beautiful and elegant. I had numerous compliments on the flowers at the wedding and am still being asked who did the flowers. I had someone tell me I had the "power team"... yes I did! When I walked in The Donnelly House the day of the wedding, I was blown away! Thank you Dorothy and Glenn!

I do not want to give a bad review because they were so nice and friendly and seemed to understand what we wanted. However, even though the bouquet were the correct colors, it was not exactly what the bride wanted. She wanted a cascading bouquet. This looked like a regular bouquet in a vase and it didn't help that it was set up in a vase when we picked it up. Much too big for her with it pointing up into her face instead of cascading down her gown as she wanted and envisioned. The bouquet was actually left in the vase it was given to us in and sat on the bridal table. She did not even want formal pictures of her holding it before the wedding as most brides do. She said it was pretty but not at all what she expected and described. Our fault for not following up sooner. She had shown pictures of what she wanted but the florist that gave me the bouquet said he had only the one picture, which was the picture of the TYPE and COLOR of the flowers she wanted, but not the actual bouquet shape (cascade) that we described. We had to stop by Publix to pick up two other bouquets to use for the flower ring in which the ceremony was taking place. Those two bouquets were $40 and the bride commented on how they looked exactly like her wedding bouquet. -

Tiffany Sent on 07/08/2012Dorothy McDaniel's did an exceptional job with our centerpieces, and the gate we used for the ceremony was designed very nicely, however the customer service could have been slightly better. We found flowers a lot cheaper and similar if not better quality than what this flower shop offered. All in all we still would recommend this company. You will be hard pressed to find better designers.
