Delicious and Beautiful
The only regret is not hiding enough desserts for ourselves. They treated us like family and were professional and responsive throughout the whole process. We worked primarily with Colleen who helped bring our vision to life. Our cake was beautiful and the desserts were elegantly displayed for our rustic wedding. Most importantly everything tasted amazing and countless guests tracked us down to figure out where they could get more. -

Amazing. We thought we wanted some other place, and then this place blew us away. They have lots of flavor choices, and frosting options. Our cake was delivered to the venue and set up early so that we didn't have to worry about anything. They knew our venue, and knew exactly what we'd need. Very easy to work with, and when I brought in my topper later, they were excited for us and made me feel special. The cake was beautiful and delicious!600 -

We’ve been customers of Dorothy Ann Bakery for years, so it was an easy choice to use them for our wedding! They are family owned and have the best desserts! We had a donut bar for our wedding dessert and they delivered it and set it up to perfection! It was beautiful and delicious!! -

We used Dorothy Ann for our wedding and couldn't have been happier. The tasting process was easy and fun. They were flexible and helped us decide on how many cupcakes to get and how to display them. We ended up with a variety of cupcakes and a small cut cake. Dorothy Ann set the up the day of in a beautiful display. The cupcakes were even better than I remembered and many guests enjoyed more than one! I highly recommend Dorothy Ann for your wedding. -

Dorothy Ann Bakery was amazing! I loved the cake they made for our wedding. It was very simple but sweet and the quality of the cake was absolutely delicious! We were also able to taste the different kinds of cake and frosting options they had available and see the different styles of cake they had. For our wedding, we also had some gluten free guests and they were able to make some delicious gluten free cupcakes! They also had a delivery service which relieved the stress of worrying about how to get the cake to the venue without it getting ruined! This was a wonderful bakery to do business with! I would highly recommend to anyone! -

My wedding cake from Dorothy Ann’s Bakery was perfect! When we designed my tiered cake I was a little worried that it wouldn’t turn out as I envisioned, but it was even better than I expected when I saw it at the reception! We provided a brooch to be used on the cake and it was returned to us (on the cake) in perfect condition. The flavors were amazing and everyone loved the cake – even the guests who weren’t huge cake lovers tried some and said how much they enjoyed it! On top of it all, the pricing was great for the amount of cake that you get. I would definitely recommend Dorothy Ann’s to any bride getting hitched in the Twin Cities! -

I am so pleased with our entire experience with Dorothy Ann! From the time we went in for their open house to the meeting with the consultant, we were 100% satisfied! We did cupcakes for our wedding and they let you do unlimited flavors! Their fees and cupcake prices are way better than the others out there and they tasted amazing! They delivered the cupcakes, set the stand up and decorate it nicely and we were so happy with the way it turned out! We will absolutely be using Dorothy Ann for any of our party needs in the future! -

I loved working with Dorothy Ann bakery! My husband and I went to their open house for wedding cakes which was super helpful. When we came back to order our cake, the ordering process was so simple and they accommodated our requests. We received so many compliments on how yummy the cake and cupcakes were! Dorothy Ann Bakery did a great job on our wedding cake! We went in for a tasting, and they have amazing flavors. The coconut cake was truly the best I've ever had. They happily packed up extra sample for me to bring home to my fiance, who wasn't able to make the trip out. They were also able to take a rough design a friend had made for us, and make into an amazing cake that perfectly fit what we were imagining. I was very impressed with their ability to make a rough sketch on paper into a beautiful real-life wedding cake. We were so happy, and it was a delicious cake. Their prices were very reasonable too, especially compared to other vendors - we were more than happy to buy our cake here. -

Dorothy Ann Bakery made the cupcakes for our wedding and they were simply amazing! We were able to have multiple tastings to pick out our flavors. While looking over the options I noticed they had a few flavors that might make it possible for them to create a new one. I am crazy about Harry Potter and asked if they would consider making a butter-beer cupcake. Not only did they say, "Yes." immediately, they listed off four other themed cupcakes that they could make as well.
We decided on the butter-beer cupcakes. They did them at no extra charge from their regular cupcakes, and they let me design what they would look like! We would not have been able to have this kind of personalized service, at a reasonable cost, anywhere else. And most importantly, the cupcakes taste fantastic! -

With local Twin Cities bakery businesses booming, there are a lot of options as a bride! Dorothy Ann was extremely impressive. First of all, they are locally owned and operated. Secondly, they know what they are doing. We found out they were having a cake testing and attending on a weekday night. It was fantastically set up with most of their options available along with refreshments. One of the consultants asked us if we were helped and soon enough we were sitting down making decisions. They were kind, attentive, and not pushy at all! I would highly recommend them for your cake and desserts! -

Our cake was exactly how we envisioned it. The royal blue color was exact to our colors throughout the wedding. Very easy to work with and the cake was delicious. We had plenty of cake and even had extra pieces for those who wanted seconds. Very happy we chose Dorothy Ann bakery. -

Dorothy Ann Bakery was incredible for our wedding! We don't live anywhere near Woodbury, but after trying many bakeries in the Twin Cities, we visited Dorothy Ann at the recommendation of two different friends who had hired them for their weddings.
The cupcakes were incredible and we ordered way more than we thought we would need - did we ever misjudge how fabulous the cupcakes would be! Our wedding guests devoured the cupcakes (5 flavors) and we could've purchased so many more. They were decorated beautifully, were super delicious, and very affordable.
In addition to great cupcakes for the wedding, we had a birthday girl that day as well and Dorothy Ann whipped up an adorable birthday cupcake for her to send with the wedding desserts.
Terrific experience and I strongly recommend Dorothy Ann (even if you don't live anywhere near Woodbury!) -

They did a fabulous job with our cake. I had found a picture they were able to make exactly. With even noticing the small details of hearts in the swirls I would have never thought of. They were great in accommodating guests with dairy free cupcakes. We had three different kinds of cake and all were delicious. -

We did an assortment of cupcakes and an 8" cake for cutting for our wedding in June. Dorothy Ann Bakery had a great selection of flavors; we ended up deciding on lemon, carrot cake, red velvet and marble. The cupcakes were decorated simply but looked gorgeous. They were all delicious, although the lemon was my personal favorite!! -

We made a decision to go with cupcakes to avoid paying a cake service fee and to not be so traditional. So I decided to make a display of cupcakes on each guest table and have that double as the centerpieces. Well... let me tell you, when we started tasting cupcakes we almost second guessed this idea. Dry, boring, and really not all that pretty. But Dorothy Ann bakery blew us out of the water with the most AMAZING and beautiful cupcakes ever. We selected three kinds (almond cake with raspberry filling, lemon, and chocolate with whipped cream filling.) We were so pleased with the outcome. Our guests STILL rave to us about the cupcakes a year later! The service was wonderful, too. The same young woman that baked them in the morning actually delivered them to our venue and set up a beautiful display. The price was less than we budgeted for (when does that ever happen?) and we feel we got the best product out there. At their advice we ordered 1.5 cupcakes per guest... and guess what? We only took home four cupcakes! It was perfect. Great value. Great product. Great service. -

The quality of service and product at Dorothy Ann is exceptional! We ordered 5 flavors of cupcakes (35 Dozen) plus a cake to cut and every since piece was perfect. 100% go with Dorothy Ann! They are amazing. The staff was so friendly and easy to talk with. They put everything into their work, and it shows. We got the Almond cupcakes with Almond buttercream and raspberry filling and they were a knockout at our wedding! People could not stop telling us how delicious they were! One guest ate 4 cupcakes and wanted more! Very fresh, moist, and amazingly delicious! I will keep going there in the future for all of my baking needs! -

We loved Dorothy Ann Bakery. They do a monthly wedding cake open house which was awesome because we got to try a dozen different types of cakes. They also did an individual cake tasting with us because we wanted to try two flavors they didn't have at the cake tasting: key lime and passion fruit. We did both cupcakes and cake and it all turned out beautifully and tasted delicious. -

Our cake was absolutely stunning! We also ordered desserts for our wedding and they were delicious. They let us customize everything and they delivered on time. The delivery person came and offered to put all the spoons in our dessert shots to save us time and asked if there was anything else they could help with. I was so pleased with our wedding cake from Dorothy Ann. Not only did they work with me to provide a cost-effective solution, but they were able to make turquoise frosting to match our wedding colors! Everyone commented on how gorgeous the cake was (not to mention delicious). We visit Dorothy Ann all the time for baked goods, and I'd never go anywhere else for cakes. -

I would recommend this bakery to anyone looking for a wedding cake. The staff was highly professional and wonderful to work with. I had some special requests and several changes and they were able to meet my needs effectively. The cake was delicious and looked exactly the way I wanted it to look. I was happy with the price and feel it was a great value. We will be returning on our 1 year anniversary for some more cake! -

The cake was perfect! I'm glad we got the top of the cake set aside in time...otherwise that would probably have been gone also! Every last drop was eaten! I had 240 guest, and the cake service 300 - so there were lots of seconds on this cake!
We came to the bakery late to check out their wedding cakes and the owners were so gracious in staying late to help us out. I am so very impressed. You won't go wrong with ordering a cake from Dorothy Anne's -

Dorothy Anne did a tremendous job with our cake. They were at the reception location on time and did a very good job with the set up. Our cake was fresh and had many applauses from our guests. You can either choose to buy or rent your cake topper and their prices are affordable.
*This bakery has since moved to a different location but I do not know where they are located now. I know that they did not go too far. -

We had 23 individual 7 inch cakes for each table at my wedding which also served as our centerpieces. We purchased our own stanchions and made our own table numbers and they were beautiful! We chose 2 flavors, almond cake and almond cake with raspberry filling. We also bought an "M" initial for our head table cake which was simple, yet very nice. Our guests raved about the cakes flavor, moistness and loved the centerpiece idea! The only reason I didn't rate it a 5 on the value, on top of the cake price, it was extra per piece of cardboard to have them covered in silver which adds up in the end. My mom, grandma and great grandma have bought from Dorothy Ann Bakery for many, many years and have followed them around town each time they changed locations! Was a great choice for our wedding! -

We used Dorothy Ann for our wedding cakes and they did a fantastic job - we are still getting compliments on our cake! We chose to do cakes on each table with four different flavors throughout the room and everyone loved it. There wasn't much left at the end of the night either. Joan and Steve are easy to work with and I knew I had nothing to worry about on the wedding day - they were awesome! I highly recommend Dorothy Ann Bakery! -

We ordered 17 pies for our wedding and were very happy with how they looked and tasted. We special ordered some personal cakes for our guests with specific food allergies and Dorothy Ann did a great job accommodating us. The morning of our wedding we learned that it was one of our guests birthday, so we called in last minute and ordered a birthday cupcake for them. This was no problem for them. We did not shop around for deals so I don't know how their prices compare. -

Dorothy Ann Bakery cakes run in our family--we have had them for everything from family reunions to graduation parties, but not previously for wedding cake. They definitely did NOT disappoint! Our cake was wonderful and they adapted to my ideas and definitely considered my overall vision. I could tell our cake was carefully prepared and the price is way more reasonable than any other wedding cake company we spoke with. -

Delicious, they have multiple varietys to choose from and were very reasonably priced, we had bananna, pumpkin, lemon, almond raspberry, chocolate and vanilla, each were very good. I chose a wedding cake that I had found online. I brought a pictures to the baker and asked for an exact replica of the cake. I was a little disappointed in the coloring of the cake and the icing wasn't very smooth. I originally wanted to go with fondent, but I did not care for the taste of it so I chose buttercream.

Extremely disappointed in this place!
Upon becoming engaged over a year ago I went to Dorothy Ann's for one of their wedding shows and met with someone about doing a dessert bar. My fiancé and I decided we wanted to serve our guests personal sized bundt cakes instead and ordered through another bakery as this dessert option was not offered by Dorothy Ann's.
We knew we still wanted a more traditional wedding cake to cut and were planning on ordering one from Dorothy Ann's. I called the bakery to place my order and was told to attend an upcoming wedding show.
Today I went to Dorothy Ann's to place my order. They refused to take my custom wedding cake order due to ordering desserts from another place to serve my guests. Unbelievable! Never once was this "rule" mentioned when I met with staff earlier! I can't believe they didn't want the extra business.
Needless to say, I immediately took my money and future business to another place in town who was happy to accept my order for the same cake, flavor and design for half the price! I will definitely not be going back to Dorothy Ann's or recommending it to any of my engaged friends. -

Go elsewhere! Nightmare!
Definitely not a place I will be returning to! Customer service is at an all time low!!! Three times in a row-- the customer service got worse each time I had to interact with them for my order. When I placed my order in the store, the person talking with me was rude, short, and distracted by other employees goofing off in the back of the store. When my son-in-law went to pick up the cake, they couldn’t find it, having a rude tone when speaking to him, claiming that he has the name wrong on who the order was under and insistent that they don’t have an order for him… Only to magically find it after 20 minutes of them looking in the back for it... Keep in mind, the cake was pre-paid for on the day that it was ordered in the store. A few hours later when we cut into the cake at my party, our nightmare with Dorothy Ann continued! I had ordered a strawberry chantilly cake, and when we cut into it at the party, we were very disappointed to find chocolate mousse instead of the strawberry filling we were all expecting and looking forward to eating. Many people in our party don’t like chocolate, which is why we specifically didn’t order something with chocolate, so most of our cake ended up going to waste. The few people who did eat the cake said that it was dry and the whipped frosting had an odd flavor. A few days after the party, I went into the store yet again to discuss my disappointment and give them a chance to explain themselves for the multiple negative experiences we have had. My concerns and complaints were brushed off by the staff, stating that “it is what it is”, and blaming COVID of all things. COVID can’t take the blame for this downfall!! And I think this goes without mentioning, no, I was not offered to get any money back, only a gift card to buy more crap from their store. I hope by taking the time to share my experience saves some other people from a headache in dealing with them for their special event-- SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND BRING YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! -
