A Picture Is Worth A 1000 Words

Our experience with Donna completed our wedding day in a way we did not know was possible. She captured the nuance of our joy and love in a way that goes beyond words. Aside from her humor and passion, she made us feel comfortable throughout the whole process. Her beautiful pictures allow us to relive the magic of that day forever and for that we are eternally grateful.

Wonderful Experience!

We hired Donna to shoot our wedding in September of 2018, based on her excellent reputation and portfolio. When Hurricane Florence threatened the area and the governor closed the coastline the week of the wedding, she was one of the first people to reach out to me to offer support and to assure us that she would rebook us for another date if we chose to reschedule the event. I was very touched that she was genuinely more concerned about us than she was about her own schedule.

We set a new date in April of this year and finally got to meet Donna! She was everything I had expected: kind, hilarious, talented, encouraging and EFFICIENT! It was important to us to enjoy every minute of the event, and Donna was able to capture moments effortlessly and quickly. Our families could then enjoy the cocktail hour instead of spending their time standing for portraits, and we could enjoy more time with our family and friends. Donna makes you feel comfortable playing model for a day, and she could not be more fun to be around. She is a vendor that you quickly want to call your friend. When I got the photos back, I was tearing up all over again. We were blown away by how beautiful the photos turned out and we are so grateful that we were able to work with Donna.

A lifelong experience and new friend

One of the highlights of my whole wedding was meeting Donna and getting to work with her. It was truly a “love at first sight.” She was the only photographer I ever pursued because from the second we emailed something just clicked. Even through email she was personable, comfortable, I felt like I had already known her forever and that she was truly on my side and wanted to make my big day memorable. We became friends during the whole process and still keep in touch. My husband loves using the “Donna” tumblers she sent us after we signed the contact and talking about how great our big day was every time he makes a drink in them. Everyone involved in the wedding talked about how great our photographer was from how organized and efficient she was (it didn’t take all night to take pictures and we could be on the dance floor!) The quality and variety of the pictures are STUNNING and truly capture the magic of our day. I cannot wait til we grow our family and make trips to Savannah to see Donna baby pictures, family portraits, senior pictures and even just to say hi for a quick hug on vacations. Donna is a professional who is laid back, so fun, relaxing and beyond gifted. I love her and everything she gifted me by being my photographer.

The Best!!!

There are no words to describe how AMAZING and TALENTED Donna is. My husband and I feel so fortunate that we were able to work with her for our wedding. She is extremely detailed yet keeps everything natural and fun! Donna will have you laughing all day! She is an expert at capturing the real and raw emotions throughout the day... which is something we truly appreciate. We will forever relive our amazing memories through her photos!!!

There are no words to adequately describe how crazy we (myself, my husband and both of our families) are about Donna. She is most definitely the total package and so much more. Prior to our wedding weekend, she helped us determine the best timeline and made sure we got all the photos we hoped for while ensuring we enjoyed every second of our wedding weekend. She's extremely efficient, pays attention to details, captures all the special moments, makes it feel so natural and brings so much fun! I swear she had us laughing all weekend. We were fortunate enough to work with Donna our entire wedding weekend and could never possibly thank her enough for the fabulous pictures. Her team is amazing and really made everyone feel at ease. By the end of the weekend, Donna felt like part of our family. She was truly a dream to work with and we cannot wait to have her capture our family celebrations for years to come!!

Donna was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding. Not only did she bring excitement from beginning to end throughout the planning process, but she put us both completely at ease on our wedding day. She helped us achieve the best timeline, given that we had such a big family, which allowed us to get all of the photos we hoped for and still fully enjoy every minute of our ceremony and reception. Her team is fun and extremely efficient, while still taking great care with attention to detail. Something every bride will appreciate!! I am so grateful that I had the privilege of working with Donna for both my engagement and wedding photos. By the end of our party Donna felt like one of the family. She made the whole process of being photographed fun and easy. She moved through family and bridal party pictures quickly and was able to capture key moments without making her presence known. I cannot wait to have Donna capture my family portraits for many years to come. Oh, and the pictures were all gorgeous! It was impossible to choose.

I met Donna 10+ years ago and knew from that moment that I wanted her to photograph my wedding. At the time I didn’t have a clue who the groom would be, but I was taken by Donna’s ability to put her subjects at ease and with the beauty of her work.

Donna is based in Savannah and we live in San Diego. I told my family that having Donna as the photographer was “not up for discussion” and that they had to trust me. They are really glad they did.

The groom and our families didn’t have the opportunity to meet Donna until the night before the wedding, but you would never know that from the photos. She’s so easy to get to know that everyone was immediately at ease in front of her camera. You can relax knowing Donna has the skills and experience to capture the moments that mean so much to you.

She captured moments before, during and after the ceremony from angles that I wouldn’t have dreamed possible. I treasure the photos she took. We have all of the memories from that day and more than we could have asked for thanks to Donna.

Words cannot express the joy it was to be a DVB Bride! Both my husband and I are wedding photographers, so naturally photography was a top priority for us. Having known Donna for years, I always knew I wanted her to shoot my wedding. We were able to completely relax and enjoy being on the "other side" with Donna at the helm - and our day was even better than we imagined. Her affable personality puts you at ease - even if you've only just met her. Our guests and bridal party were going on and on about how wonderful she was. We would not have been able to enjoy our day nearly as much had anyone else been responsible for capturing it. With Donna, you aren't just getting fantastic photographs, you're getting the entire DVB experience - and its definitely worth it. We would recommend Donna without hesitation!

Selecting Donna to photograph our wedding was one of the best decisions we made during the entire wedding planning process! Not only did the photos turn out beautifully, but she was SO easy to work with and wonderful to be around. She kept us on schedule but also was also stress-free all day. We had a sneak-preview slideshow of our photos very quickly after the wedding and have loved looking through all of the pictures and reliving the day! I would highly recommend Donna to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. She will be a good friend for many many years!

Donna was available to talk and meet to see the venue before the wedding. She was very relaxed and easy to work with on the wedding day. She also made the most beautiful wedding book with 100 perfectly edited and retouched photos. I recommend that everyone get one--it is my most prized possession.

Donna was so wonderful to work with for our wedding - she listened to what I wanted, helped keep us moving and added positive energy to a busy and (sometimes) stressful day. I'm so glad we had her as our photographer and I'm so happy with our photos. I've had the hardest time finalizing our wedding album because I want to use them all! Watching our dvd makes me so happy and I'm so glad to have these images that captured all of the details of this day... we have great pictures of our selves, our family and our friends. I can't recommend her enough and I can't wait to work with her again!

Donna is a pleasure to work with, she caters her wedding weekend package to you based on your needs. She is so down to earth and easy to work with. Donna knows how to get the pictures done without wasting anytime, but doesn't sacrifice quality. Wow wow wow. I do not know what to say to accurately convey how fantastic the whole experience with Donna has been. The product at the end is not simply photos: it is the physical embodiment of memories, it is the essence of love and emotion and family, it makes you cry more than once, it is how you see what else was going on at your wedding, it is what will bring you wistful happiness in your old age.

For anyone worried about cost, you won't understand the value until afterwards. A few weeks out from your wedding and you'll realize that you can't put a price on what Donna delivers.

We initially hired Donna for an event in South Carolina that was cancelled. She honored our deposit two years later and flew to NYC to capture our wedding. She and her team are incredibly professional, quick (wedding party photos + family photos were finished in a snap!!) and friendly. She and Kelly even helped to ensure things like bustling my dress and fixing my hair went down the right way!!

Further, the Fine Art book we received is absolutely gorgeous. Best wedding album, ever! Donna spends time arranging the pictures you select to tell a beautiful story about the day.

Donna is just amazing! Her pictures speak for themselves, they are simply amazing. As a person she is great to work with! She gave me advice and support before the wedding and helped move the wedding along on the day of. She is very flexible and down to earth. My pictures were up to view on my honeymoon and I was so excited to look through all of them as soon as I got home. They are such a perfect reminder of the wonderful day we had and Donna definitely captured the moment perfectly!

Donna's work is breathtaking! She worked my bridal session and Wedding along with Kelli. My husband cried when he saw the pictures, we both felt like they captured every little beautiful moment. I cannot imagine higher quality pictures of our wedding day than Donna produced. She captured all the important moments in stunning style. She is like magic...I do not remember seeing her take most of the pictures! Donna also assisted my with wearing my veils and bustling my dress and leading my husband and I quickly through the cake cutting ceremony...I would have been lost in those areas if it were not for her friendly guidance. She is fun to work with, and has helped my husband and I create memories that will last a lifetime.

Donna is a wonderful photographer that you can trust with everything! My husband and I did not know her personally before our wedding and had only spoken with her over the phone just a few times before we met in the Cayman Islands where we were married. You don't get any more flexible than that! We had called Donna just about one month before our wedding as she came highly recommended by one of the best photographers in Cayman who was already booked. Without hesitation, Donna booked her flight from Savannah, GA, where she's based and met us in Cayman. She worked with the beautiful surroundings and just knew the good shots and her pictures go to show, they came out great! She just gets it. We really have some of the most unique photos in part because of the location, but a lot of it had to do with the amazing woman behind the camera!! We absolutely loved Donna and we highly recommend her!

If you're looking for the best, DVB is it. I am a notorious "blinker" and normally look terrible in pictures. Kelli managed to get shots that looked like they belonged in a magazine - just gorgeous (and no blinking, either). I dealt with both Donna and Kelli and they're very prompt responding to any questions/concerns, before AND after the big day, and are just such a pleasure to work with. Check out their galleries - not sure how they do it, but they manage to bring out the absolute best in their subjects. If you want someone to take standard "everyone smile and say cheese" pictures, pick some run-of-the-mill photographer. If you want pictures that have personality, warmth and charm, call DVB. The events manager for our wedding location (who has dealt with just about every vendor in the area) told me she recently hired DVB to do her family portrait and said she wouldn't hire anyone but DVB for her pictures -- a pretty high compliment from someone who deals with wedding vendors for a living. Donna and her team are nothing short of incredible. Donna photographed both our engagement session and wedding. She is so outgoing, friendly, flexible, and above all, professional. Despite her incredibly busy schedule, as she is the most popular wedding photographer in Savannah and the surrounding area, she was able to work with our busy schedule to accomodate to our needs. However, book well in advance....she's a busy woman! All of our photos turned out amazing and beautifully. She made me and my husband look like models out of a wedding magazine. =) The quality of her work couldn't be any better. She knows the best poses and works with lighting like a pro. The prices may seem a little steep at first, but for the time and quality you will receive, they are completely reasonable. Never compromise on your wedding photos! Donna and my husband are HUGE Buckeyes fans, so she is officially a close friend of ours. (Go Bucks!) I would LOVE for her to photograph our first child someday when the time comes. DVB photographers are an incredible team. Awesome work.

I don't know how to begin to explain how gorgeous our wedding photos and slideshow are. From the moment we stepped into DVB Photographers studio to the time we left, Donna and Kelli made us feel incredibly comfortable. We were excited they immediately grasped the concept of our rustic farm wedding vision. And not only grasped it but gave us some great ideas! Since they're so helpful, the booking process and picking out albums was so easy. The payment policy is very fair too. We spoke and emailed a few times throughout the engagement and our questions were always answered promptly!

The wedding day...I was a little concerned about my then fiancé smiling for pictures. No worries though, Donna had us cracking up the whole time! Her humor and casual way of photographing made us comfortable immediately! Even family pictures weren't chaotic...they were over in no time! We loved having all the bride/groom and family pictures taken before the wedding. We were able to enjoy the reception immediately after the ceremony was over.

The day after the wedding there was a picture already posted on dvbphoto.com and I was shocked when the slideshow appeared in my email inbox while on our honeymoon. I had no idea Donna would have them so quickly for us to view (all of our proofs were available 2 weeks after the wedding)! And I couldn't believe what I was seeing...they were the most beautiful pictures ever! Donna is an unbelievable photographer with an 'eye' like no other. Our wedding was small so for all those who weren't able to attend, Donna re-created our wedding day with her pictures for everyone to see. I do have to say...picking out pictures for our album was incredible difficult because they were all great but Donna and Kelli guided us through and offered solutions to get all the pictures we wanted!

My husband, family and I have been overly pleased with Donna and her work. We would highly recommend her unique way of capturing true emotion to anyone! DVB photographers is worth every penny and we wouldn't change anything about our experience! Love me some DVB!!!!

After viewing Donna's portfolio I knew I had to have her photograph my destination wedding. When I contacted her, she was extremely flexible and willing to work with my fiance and me to come up with a commission we would be happy with. I didn't get to meet Donna until the day of my wedding, but as soon as I met her, I knew I had made the right choice. I'm a New Yorker, and Donna's energy met, if not surpassed my own, and yet her presence was calming at the same time. We had a blast with Donna at the wedding, and our wedding photos are amazing. Incredible photography, and a joy to work with before, during, and after the big day itself. All I can say about DVB is WOW! I could not be happier with my choice of hiring them to be my photographers! From the beginning of my planning process I knew the photography was the most important aspect of the wedding for me. They help preserve the memories of the day for a lifetime. I spent a lot of time online researching different photographers and contacted a lot of them in the area, but none of them compared to the beautiful grace of their pictures. Check out her website because her work speaks for itself. I received a wedding slideshow and all of my pictures online the day after the wedding which I really did not expect. Now I'm trying to narrow down my choices for an album and it is extremely difficult because there are so many amazing pictures to choose from. Donna took charge at the wedding and made sure that she got all the shots I wanted along with great shots I never would have thought of. I am so happy I chose to hire Donna and Kelli for my wedding day photography. If I could do it all over again, I would not hesitate for a second to hire DVB photographers for my wedding.

Donna knows her stuff! She did a great job on our wedding during the hottest part of the summer in Charleston. We were not from Savannah, so we heavily relied on Donna's expertise during our wedding day. She brought us around to various spots in downtown Savannah and took our wedding photos. Donna was flexible during the entire day and at most times during the reception we didnt see her but she was still capturing all the moments. She was great.

Donna photographed our wedding this past Memorial Day weekend on Hampton Island in Georgia. We are from out of state and I had never met Donna before. Our wedding photos were very important to us - one of THE most important elements. After looking at Donna's work and speaking to her over the phone we were immediately put at ease. The day of the wedding is always hectic and not ever meeting Donna face to face, I still was a bit nervous to how the day would go. From the minute I met Donna, I knew she was the best of the best. She was so wonderful to work with and it was so refreshing to put my trust in her hands on that day. She walked us through every photo, every moment, and did it not only extremely fast, but fun. We didn't want to spend 3 hours doing photos and neither did our family and wedding party. She was able to get in there, get the perfect photos and let us go and enjoy the rest of our special day. On our honeymoon, which was immediately following the wedding, we received the most beautiful sneak peek slideshow of the wedding. Her team is absolutely wonderful and helps you through the photo picking process as well (Kelli especially.) I truly don't know how to offer a higher recommendation for Donna Von Bruening Photographers. We wanted our special day to be captured and she did just that and more. I could talk about what a professional and amazing photographer Donna Von Bruening is, how stunning her photography is, but after reading all of the other reviews on this site....all of these things are already very apparent. Let me instead mention something else that "sealed the deal" for my husband and I when making the decision to hire Donna....

When planning our wedding, my husband and I were determined to have both a professional photographer and videographer capture our big day. We initially hired a less expensive photographer, hoping to be able to have enough money left in our budget for a videographer...however, after shooting some engagement photos with our initial photographer we were more than dissapointed with the results!!!!

We were less than 2 months away from our wedding when we realized that we needed to find a different photographer, and as a bride with a thousand things to do in the last few months before my wedding I was beginning to have an absolute melt down.

I took a chance and called Donna, expecting to hear that she was already booked for my wedding, since this was very much a last minute vendor change....and to our amazement she was!!!! Not only did she jump right in and help us out, take absolutely unbelievable engagment photos, and cut us an amazing deal since we were in such a bind, but she was such a pleasure to work with!!!

We were soooo impressed with Donna...we couldn't be happier with our photos and the wonderful memories she has given us to treasure for the rest of our lives!!!! We did not end up having a videographer at our wedding, but the quality of the photography more than made up for it!!!!! Just rememebr even if you are on a budget, like we were, you always get what you pay for!!!!

I am probably the only bride who wasn't sure she wanted a photographer. After all, I've never been one to take lots of photos and photographers are EXPENSIVE. My planner talked me into spending the money, and I'm SO GLAD we did! The images that Kelli captured are terrific! I like her style..not the traditional posed photos, though you can get them if you like. She was able to capture MOMENTS and looking through the proofs truly evoked the memories of the day; each time I look at them I re-live the moments. I think that's what one really wants in a photographer. Kelli is able to capture the spirit of the moment--she is truly talented. I wish I could have afforded the entire day with her (we only paid for 4 hours) but I'm so happy with what we've got. The best parts are that they give us the DVD of all of the photos and they hold our images for two years. Hopefully by then we'll have paid off the wedding debt and can put together a nice album! Thanks to Kelli for capturing the joy of our day!

I was married September 27, 2008 and I wish I could do it all over again just so I could hire Donna Von Bruening Photographers to photograph it!

Donna and Kelli were professional, friendly and unbelievably dedicated. As someone who works with photographers on a daily basis, I was extremely pleased with the entire process. I was an out-of-town bride and nervous about hiring someone I had never worked with, but not once after meeting Donna did I worry about our pictures. Her confidence and can-do attitude should assure every bride that DVB photographers will give you wedding pictures that you will forever cherish.

In addition to our wedding pictures, Donna also made a special effort to photograph my future husband and me in our hometown while she was visiting on other business. She took the time out of her super busy schedule to run around Washington, DC and get great shots of us for our wedding guestbook. Without even breaking a sweat she photographed us and hopped a plane back to Savannah.

The day of the event Donna and Kelli were raring to go and spent about 10 hours on our wedding from start to finish. Only when they were sure they had documented every minute of celebration possible did they depart. A week later we received a preview slideshow and a few weeks after that we received a web gallery of our entire event. I was very happy with the speed in which I received our proofs.

And lastly, the quality of work was fantastic. Donna and Kelli know their stuff. They understand what is necessary to get traditional wedding shots but aren't afraid to try new things which results in the most clever and unique images. They manage the perfect blend of tradition and edge and everyone from Mom to me had their photography needs met.

Donna and Kelli were both exceptional and I will be forever grateful for the wonderful job they did.

Donna and Kelli were the best team of photographers I've ever seen. Booking with Donna was easy. She was flexible and offered great packages. Their (Donna and Kelli) work is amazing! They came up with the greatest idea of a photo booth while we were doing our shots before the wedding. It was the best idea. Everyone at my wedding still talks about the photo booth. I have great pictures of my friends that I would have never been able to have without the photo booth. I wish I were getting married all over again just so I can spend time with them. They had a great sense of humor and made me feel 100% at ease on my wedding day. I plan on using Donna and Kelli in the future for whatever pictures I have taken of my family or events.

Kelly and Donna take beautiful photographs. Photography was the most important thing to me when I planned my wedding. Donna is very well connected and was able to help me out with a last minute recommendation when a vendor flaked.

We were so pleased with the photographer and her presence at our wedding as well as the prints we recieved. She truely captured our day and we will forever cherish our memories through our exceptional photos.

Kelli was great. From the moment we met her we knew she would be our wedding photographer. She was very kind and really wanted to know what kind of pictures we wanted to have. She didn't just assume what we wanted. There were also a lot of albums and samples to look at to get an idea of what they offered.
We also had a little difficulty with our CD of photos that she mailed to us(it was our computer not the disc). She went well above to make sure we had a copy. She even went so far as to put them on a flash drive for us after sending it to her.
If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing.

A real professional!

Donna is a real professional; I did not have to worry about photos or how it fit into the schedule at all on my wedding day. She just showed up and made it all happen in a very quick efficient manner. She also has a great way of making people feel comfortable. I hardly noticed her or her assistant at our reception, but they got a lot of great candid shots of our celebration.

Outstanding photos and was a pleasure to work with! Donna has a great instinct when it comes to weddings and was on the mark when it came to having our ceremony outside when rain threatened, was well worth it and the weather turned out great as did the wedding! She knew all of hte spots to take the great Svaannah pictures and made us feel very comfortable.

My husband and I both loved Donna and Kelli! Their presence truly added to our wedding. They were personable and really listened to what we wanted them to capture. We had so much fun with the both of them. Their pictures are absolutely beautiful! Due to their artistry we have beautiful memories that will last for the rest of our lives.

Donna was more than a photographer ... since we planned our Savannah, Georgia wedding from Chicago ... she was one of the first vendors we secured and she really helped provide truthful feedback on some of our other choices. Her solicited advice was always meaningful and sincere. We loved the fact that she "got" we wanted more journalistic shots and my parents wanted more traditional - and she was able to adapt and capture both. Everyone loved the slideshow she sent us less than 72 hours after the wedding - that really made folks feel like they were at the wedding with us! I still receive comments from friends and family - who still watch the slideshow and sob (me included!) I wish we could come up with big events that require her services every year ... we'll see ... In the end, Donna was a critical member to the success of our wedding.

Donna was a key reason that our wedding was such a success. We could not have wished for a better photographer. The pictures and slideshow are beautiful but more importantly she helped through the whole planning process. Her style is impeccable. It was like having your favorite cousin with you throughout the day!
