  Amazing venue, perfect team

  If you're lucky enough to reserve the Donaldson Brown Center you should do it right now! We had our wedding and reception there in May and it was absolutely perfect...this is an amazing venue with gorgeous views overlooking the river. The suites are really cool and there was plenty of room for our immediate families to stay over (the rest of the guests shuttled to a nearby hotel). So convenient! Sue and her team are the best and they really took care of us. We can't say enough about how perfect everything was.

  Engagement party

  Enjoyed our evening in the grand venue. All the guests were very impressed with the ambience. Very convenient for any occasion as they have separate dining area with tables and chairs beautifully set up. Ample space as you have the whole floor with many rooms and sitting areas. Very friendly staff and flexible.

  Wedding reception venue

  Sue and Evelyn were amazing from the moment we started planning our wedding reception. The venue is absolutely beautiful and the staff could not have been more accommodating, from letting us do walk-throughs with the vendors beforehand so that everyone was comfortable with the plan on the big day to making sure that any hiccups were dealt with discreetly and never took my or my guests' attention away from the celebration. They made sure that the day was absolutely beautiful for my husband and I. Our guests are still raving about our wedding! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a unique, charming wedding venue in the area.

  Amazing staff and venue

  Donaldson Brown Center is a hidden gem. My husband and I would always see the mansion on the cliff when passing the Conowingo. We made arrangements to go an see the venue and completely fell in love. At the time the venue was gong through a possible ownership change. This left us in a limbo for a few months as they were unsure if they were going to be able to rent the next year or not. Of course after viewing the property i couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else.'
  Sue the property manager was incredible. Im sure with my constant pestering about if we could rent or not was annoying (haha) but Sue was amazing throughout the entire experience. She finally let me know we could rent and the books were open so i had first pick of ANY date! Which was amazing. She was incredibly accommodating and really helped walk me through the entire process. I was even able to come to the venue early in the morning to get ready. Not only did we get married there but we also stayed the evening. There is an option to rent out the bedrooms upstairs. We rented the entire place which was such a peace of mind! (no drinking and driving). I will always continue to recommend this venue, not just for the amazing views but just the amazing staff that really cares! Thank you so much for everything. It truly was the best day of my life!

  May Wedding with Blooming Wisteria and Incredible Views

  Donaldson Brown Center couldn’t have been the more perfect venue for my Victorian inspired May wedding. Sue was very accommodating when I was venue shopping and was kind enough to pencil us in until we made our decision. She worked the venue schedule so that no events were held the day before or after ours, allowing for amble set up and tear down time. There is plenty of space, inside and out, with multiple sitting rooms and dining areas. We were made aware that there is a max capacity of 125 inside the house, so that put a little wrinkle in things but it all worked out. We chose to have our ceremony outside and reception inside spread throughout the entire first floor (with outside access) and opted out of a tent. Fortunately the weather was perfect! Scheduling times to see the venue was a little difficult as the day time hours were between 7am-3pm. But i was able to make that work. Sue was so wonderful to work with, allowing my mother (who did all of the decorating) to make multiple trips to the venue to do some practice/ “test runs” with the interior and exterior set up and decorations.
  The day of the wedding, we had access to the many (large) bedrooms on the second floor where we had all morning to get ready, as did the men. This was so convenient. There was also the option to stay over night and have breakfast in the morning. We did not do that.
  I was so fortunate to have Sue there on the day of the wedding as she helped organize, coordinate, and answer any questions. There was a hard time of 10pm that we needed to close down the wedding, but the Casino is right down the road and many guests went there afterward.
  This venue was so amazing and I would highly recommend it!

  beautiful historic house with incredible views

  I loved the Donaldson-Brown House for years before I knew it was possible to get married there. As the bride of a simple wedding, it was perfect. The house and grounds were gorgeous and didn't need much in the way of decoration, and the staff was very helpful. It is a historic home, and so there is character in it, and some limitations in the way of electricity, but all was explained beforehand and alternates explored. I loved getting dressed upstairs, in old rooms, with my sisters and close friends, and being able to peek out and see my guests arrive. We had gorgeous weather, and the vista is incredible. I couldn't have gotten married anywhere else.
