Merrie was absolutely awesome!! She made sure I had my dress in enough time for a ceremony I planned in just two months. She helped me with measurements and after receiving my dress it fit perfect. I am forever grateful that she was able to share in such an important part of my big day.

Gorgeous custom dress- just what I wanted!

Merrie does beautiful work! I fell in love with their dresses online and couldn't believe how perfectly my dress fit me! There wasn't much time to try on at home, so I sent my measurements over to Merrie and she made me a beautiful dress- exactly what I wanted!

My retro dream dress!

Saved The Day!!

Dolly Couture saved my wedding that was disrupted by COVID 19. Merrie is the BEST! She made sure my dress was here on time. The dress was absolutely beautiful, fit well and of great quality. So glad I found her!!

Custom made but affordable!

The dress I wore for my wedding ceremony had a gigantic tulle skirt, so I wanted to have a more manageable reception dress to wear to dinner afterwards that was comfortable but still made me look and feel like a bride. Dolly Couture let me customize my dress to be exactly what I wanted, which was basically the Avila Bay for the bodice and the skirt from the Edmonton, with little details like decorative buttons down the back. It came out perfectly, and by some miracle didn't even need alterations. Even with the customizations it was quite reasonably priced. And I loved having two completely different looks for my wedding photos! Highly recommended.

Perfect Custom Tea Length Dresses

I learned about Dolly Couture of all places at Disneyland’s Dapper Day Expo and wow nothing felt more like fate than running into them! I knew I wanted a tea length style dress for my wedding but I knew next to nothing about dresses in general and felt VERY overwhelmed by the whole process! I wasn’t looking for a multi-thousand dollar dress and I was intimidated by the “going into a wedding dress boutique and trying on dresses in front of a bunch of people” atmosphere. Well Dolly Couture was the best of every world! Their remote try on process was perfect for me—I picked three styles that interested me from their website and they sent me them in relatively my size. I was then able to try them on in the comfort of my own home with just a few trusted friends and make a hybrid design from there! They were so flexible in their customizations and so responsive in their communications. When I got the final dress back it was absolutely perfect and well within my budget! If you’re looking for that tea-length look for your wedding dress and a low-stress environment in which to design your perfect dress, look no further than Dolly Couture.

Catered to my every whim!

Merie was a delight to work with. She responds within a reasonable amount of time. The best thing is the program where you can try dresses on in your own home (for a small fee that gets deducted from the sale of the dress). It made everything so much easier to have it in person to make my decision. Though I knew from the very beginning I was going with Dolly Couture. A stylish, classic, vintage look .....everything I wanted!!

Such a wonderful experience!! Merrie is incredible at helping you make the dress of your dreams! I wanted a very specific dress and struggled to figure out what it would look like, she was so patience and accommodating. Any thing I hinted at liking she jumped on and showed me how it could happen. The best part was that it didn't break the bank at all! I had tried to make at other places near Ventura and they turned me away because my price point was too low. I am glad they did. I got to design my own perfect dress for less than $1500

There is nothing bad to say about Dolly Couture! I worked with Merrie on the ordering process, she was responsive and excited for me - worked with me on my very special dress with two skirts in BLUE. I felt the price was wonderful, and better than any for a custom dress. The dress required minimal alterations as well!

I found Dolly Couture online by chance while searching for tea length wedding dresses. I seriously fell in love with the retro style of the dresses and saw they had location in Los Angeles to try them on. I'm from California so off I went to drag my parents to Dolly's and try on dresses. Expecting to be going to a storefront, I was actually surprised to be going to Dolly's house! That was actually a lot more comfortable and intimate. My dress fitting assistance, Yasmine, was very sweet and down to earth and helped me feel relaxed. Dolly was actually there briefly and it was fun talking with her about the dresses and different styles.

We were in and out the door in under 45 mins flat- no joke. I had chosen 3 styles prior to going in this order: Walnut Creek, Avila Bay, and Cambridge. I tried each dress on and fell in love with Cambridge. I said "yes to the dress" in 15 mins, hahaha. We all agreed it was very flattering and I felt like a bride. Yasmine measured me and I was able to order and pay for my dress right then.

My dress showed up sooner than expected and it was so beautiful! I had it taken in and fitted to me like a glove and I received sooooooo many compliments on it. I am still so pleased with it and would recommend Dolly to any bride looking for a less "traditional" but uniquely beautiful wedding dress.

The staff at Dolly Couture guided me and my dear friend in designing my wedding gown. It was a wonderful experience. From the first moment we happened upon the look, I was overjoyed -- surprisingly moved to tears. Everyone was completely attentive at responding to my inquiries along the way. Abby put me in touch with an AMAZING seamstress for additional design tweaks and fitting. I felt so cared for. We decided to elope to Las Vegas and being a curvy girl I knew I wanted a vintage looking dress. I found the Dolly website and simply fell in love with all the dresses. I made an appointment and met Yvette at the NYC studio, she was and absolute DOLL to work with. I went in wanting the "Beverlywood" and Yvette suggested I try the "Avila Bay". When I put it on I knew, this was my dress. It came and I only needed to make on slight adjustment to the sleeves. I have to say for a curvy girl I felt beautiful. We came back from Las Vegas and decided to have a party (family decided really) and I wore my dress again. Everyone told me how beautiful the dress was and how beautiful I was in it. Thank you Dolly and Yvette, you make us curvy girls love ourselves on our special day when the rest make us feel ashamed with our curves...xoxoxo

I wore a custom Dolly dress at my wedding and couldn't have been happier with my experience! I met with Yvette at the NYC location a year before my wedding. I thought that I knew exactly what I wanted, but Yvette helped me pick out something so much better for my form and coloring. I knew that I wanted a tea length tulle skirt, so Yvette had me try on several dresses with different bodice shapes until we found the perfect combination. I went with the sleeveless Beverlywood bodice with a slightly deeper neckline, v-back, and functioning buttons, and the moon river tulle skirt with a peach chiffon petticoat. After picking out the components, I worked with Abby via email to work out the details and received a sketch in no time! When I received my dress, there was a sewing error (petticoat was attached inside out so you could see the color through the tulle). Abby responded to me immediately (it was 7:30 on a Friday night), sent me a shipping label, and had it returned to me in perfect condition in 2 weeks. She was amazing, and the definition of excellent customer service. Since I ordered the dress with my measurements, it fit perfectly as soon as it arrived. The only alterations I made were to shorten the straps as I have a short torso. The dress was absolutely stunning and so unique. I've received so many compliments on it! I'll admit, ordering a wedding dress this way probably isn't for the faint of heart since I didn't get to see the finished product until it was in my hands, but it was so worth it! It was the perfect expression of my style and so flattering. I'd highly recommend getting the custom petticoat. They have tons of colors to chose from, and having the hidden pop of color was really fun (and made for great photos!).

I knew I wanted a vintage style dress, but it's often hard to find one in my size. When I found Dolly Couture online I knew this would be a hit! Honestly, I didn't even bother looking at any other dress shops. I made an appointment to visit the NYC showroom and with the help of the saleswoman and two of my friends I was able to design a custom dress based off of two different dresses. I fondly remember asking, "Can I have pockets?" and she said, "You can have anything you want!" They were so accommodating, and the price was right. Less than $1,000 for a beautiful, custom made dress that is unlike any other! Shipping time was estimated at 8-12 weeks, and it arrived 8 weeks after ordering. So excited to wear it on my big day!

I just received my dress last week and I could not be happier with the results! I ended up customizing my dress with a different color than their standard fabrics. I visited the Los Angeles showroom and was enthusiastically assisted by Dolly herself. My experience with Dolly was wonderful! She was so patient and answered my many questions and helped me choose the perfect dress. I had been on the fence with going the traditional long gown route, or going with a short dress. Coming to Dolly Couture absolutely confirmed that I wanted a short wedding dress. I love that my alterations (if any) will be minimal - after hearing so many horror stories from friends, I was worried that I might end up spending nearly the same amount on alterations as I did on the dress itself. This is not the case with Dolly Couture - my dress fits like a dream! Abby was also very helpful in the ordering process. She responded to my emails quickly and listened to my questions and concerns as I was making my final design decisions. They were even running a promotion and I got $100 off my dress. I highly recommend Dolly, Abby, and the entire Dolly Couture team! If you are looking for an affordable, beautiful, and unique short wedding dress, this is the place to go!

I saw Dolly online and fell in love with the dresses! I was not only having a 1950s style wedding but I was having a hell of a time finding a flattering dress! I'm 4'11, have a large chest, I'm curvy...and the bridal stores weren't cutting it! Their long dresses looked awful, they all seemed to be strapless...the short dresses looked ridiculous...the quality was terrible...I was having ZERO fun shopping.

So I grabbed my sister and we went on a road trip to NYC (from VA) and visited the showroom. It was a GREAT experience. I felt that I was being heard and they had plenty of dresses for me to try on THAT FIT. I expressed concerns about a few of the features of the dress I wanted and they handled those with the best suggestions. My dress was made to to my specifications and I got it in SIX WEEKS. I didn't even need to alter it! It was a perfect fit!

I get comments on my dress ALL of the time...everyone said they had never seen anything like it and I agree...it made me feel so amazing on my day.

I just love Dolly!

I was able to go into the Burbank shop and they were so helpful. I went with an idea of which dress I wanted to get and walked out with a completely different dress it was great. I love my dress it matched my style perfectly. I got married on November 1st and I'm still getting compliments today. Love this shop

Words cannot express how grateful I am to all of the Dolly Couture staff for being amazing and for Dolly's vision in creating the most amazing short dresses. Yvette was a total gas to work with. She made the drive to NYC 100% worth it.

I got bullied by family into a traditional dress that I did not love that came from a local dress maker. I was fat shamed through the whole process and they failed to deliver on the alterations they had promised/swore up and down they could do, after I had given them an ultimatum on refunding me or alter the hell out of the dress. I'm a very curvy hourglass shape, but by no means fat At my 'final' fitting, the damn thing didn't even zip up a week before the wedding, after I had lost 10 lbs and it had zipped previously. They had to have taken it in by 2 inches instead of letting it out. With 2 weeks to go to my wedding I was freaking out.
I broke out into crazy stress hives all over my hands, feet and scalp. My hair started to fall out from the stress. I left the dress shop and cried in my car for 20 minutes in a near by parking lot, while on the phone with my fiancée (now husband).

My bridemaids, MOH and I blew up the Dolly Couture phones and email. Abby was able to help a desperate bride out with an Off the Rack dress (that hadn't even been listed on their website yet). She gave me a discount on top of reduced price of the dress because I had been so abused at the other dress shop. I took it to a local tailor to have the sleeves removed and cinched in a little tighter in the bust and I looked amazing. I was so happy, I cried when I finally put it on after the alterations were done.

Abby you saved my wedding and DAMN I LOOKED GOOD! Everyone was blown away by how stunning the dress is! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I am positively in love with my wedding dress. I always knew that I wanted a 50's era, tea length dress with fun, sophistication and flair - and when I literally stumbled upon the Dolly Couture website - it was as if I found oasis in the desert. Yvette and Montana in the NYC showroom and sales office were perfection. They answered my every question, need or curiosity about purchasing such a meaningful dress. Yvette was kind, a great listener, and delightful. She made sure that I had every opportunity to explore all options. I cannot say enough good things about Dolly Couture. I fell in love with their dresses online and knew I needed to try them on. My bridesmaids and I took a 5 hour road trip to go to the NYC Dolly location. When we got there we were greeted by Yvette who couldn't have been nicer. She helped me try on every dress in the store as well as tell me about different things I could do with the dresses like add of subtract tulle. In the end I ended up with a completely different dress than anything I had pictured myself buying from looking at the website before my appointment. It is literally the perfect dress for me. When I finally made my decision of which dress I wanted Yvette told me to wait to order because she really wanted me to love what I was getting and didn't want me to feel any pressure to buy a Dolly dress. I thought that was a nice touch

A few days later when I was ready to order Montana emailed me all my measurements and sent me pictures of the different color sashes I could order for my dress. She made it extremely easy. I placed my order and was told there would be a 12 week time frame to get my dress....which seeing as I was having two dresses combined into one custom design seemed like a reasonable wait time. However, within 4 weeks I ha a big dolly couture box on my door step. My dress fit me like a glove and I couldn't be happier. It really is the perfect dress and the perfect shopping experience with Dolly couture.

I love my Dolly dress! I wanted a cocktail length gown that was high quality, but still affordable and Dolly delivered. I just chose one of their basic designs (the Santa Anita) instead of getting anything custom made. The dress they sent was simple, but still beautiful. I did have to get it let out a bit because it pinched under the armpits, but it was an easy alteration. Since I was buying a gown without ever trying it on I didn't expect it to fit perfectly, though.

I had a winter Australian wedding and after walking up, down, in, around and all over the streets of Sydney, 30 odd shops later not only did I drive my sister mad, but I was unable to find ANYTHING that was "me" OR "wintery" OR anything under $3000. After this massive let down I hesitantly ventured online and found Dolly and her perfect dresses. I wanted all of them. But I settled on the Cambridge with its classic, elegantly timeless design. I cannot heap enough praise on Abby who dealt with all my emails! She was friendly and professional but most of all, made the whole experience stress free and made sure all bases were covered to ensure I got exactly what I was expecting with my added personal touches and customisations, Abby did be sure to let me know that while the dress makers go with your specifications, it's always a good idea to have a quality dress maker on standby at home to just make any final just in case adjustments (basically in lieu of a "final fitting" if you were to get your dress from an ordinary bridal store). Her good advice came in handy when my sleeves were a touch too big around my arms, I had them adjusted in no time and at very little cost - the rest of my dress fit like an absolute dream. Not bad for 10000 miles away! My dress was beautiful quality and my dress maker couldn't believe I'd ordered her online - apparently other online retailers aren't quite as reputable! It arrived exactly when I was told it would and was packaged beautifully. I have been so impressed by the quality of product and service (nothing is a problem or hassle!) that I would recommend Dolly to anyone!

Dolly Couture made the PERFECT dress for me.

The day before I visited Dolly Couture's NY showroom - I had literally run out of another bridal shop. The owner there kept showing me poofier and poofier dedazzled dresses and after I said I'm looking for a vintage style dress she said - let me go into the back, I know I have some "outdated" dresses. Eeeekk! I ran.

The next day I visited with Yvette at the Dolly Couture NY Showroom. What a dream! I had looked through the dresses on dollycouture.com and had a short list of styles I wanted to try. All of them were just gorgeous in real life. But actually at the end of my short list, Yvette asked if she could put me in a dress she thought would look good. I had seen the dress on the website but didn't think anything of it. Well - it was PERFECT! Yvette was right! And that was my wedding dress! Not only does Dolly Couture offer gorgeous vintage style dresses, but you can also customize the styles! I was thinking about adding lace cap sleeves. Yvette took notes and sent them off and the next day I had drawings of the dress I requested!

I did have follow up questions and Montana and the staff at Dolly Couture were very responsive and quick - answering my last minute panic questions (because you do panic about every little thing) with complete care, patience, and enthusiasm.

And the dress! Well it was just gorgeous, special, and so finely crafted. And actually they took my measurements so well that the dress needed no adjustments whatsoever. It arrived perfect!

Everything with Dolly Couture was just perfect.

Dolly Couture provided an outstanding service experience for me. I was very unsure of what I wanted in a wedding dress and struggled throughout the whole process. Initially, I wanted a fully custom design, so I was given a sketch of the dress and went with that. Then I visited the NYC showroom and changed my mind in that I wanted a combination of two of their existing styles. When the custom dress arrived I had some concerns and was able to send it back for adjustments. Once I made it to the day of my wedding, I was overjoyed! It was exactly what I asked for and the anxiety just cleared away.

I was a crazy bride when it came to my dress, and I owe it to Dolly for saving my sanity! Thank you Dolly for having outstanding service and products that stand above the norm!

My experience with Dolly Couture matched pretty much every review I read before deciding to purchase my dress from them. Once I had landed on that decision, I gathered my bridesmaids up and planned a roadtrip from my home in San Francisco to her shop in Los Angeles. I tried on a couple of their in-shop samples and landed on the Avila Bay. There were a few changes I wanted to make right away, based on the Real Brides photos I'd seen on Dolly's Facebook (which is an absolute must-join - the photos lead to inspiration I never would have come up with on my own). My girls and I discussed at the salon while I was wearing the sample. We'd change this, lengthen this, add this, shift this, etc. I decided, though, not to place the order right then and there. I figured it would be smart to sleep on it. Over the next month, I tossed and turned thinking about the changes I felt I got talked into by my girls. So I reached out to Dolly's staff to see if I could work out a few changes of my own. Not only were they happy to walk me through my ideas, but before I placed the final order, Dolly sent me a sketch of the dress I'd designed. It was exactly what I wanted. I placed the order and impatiently waited for the notification that it shipped. When it arrived, in the pretty white box, I was eager to pull it out and try it on, but I arranged a more formal try on with some bridesmads and my Mom. I tried it on, and I was in love, except for the neckline. It was just.... wrong. I took several photos of me in the dress, and compared them to the sketch. When I finally decided that I wouldn't be happy with it, I sent a photo of me in the dress and the sketch to Dolly's staff. I explained what I felt was wrong with the neckline, and that I hoped something could be done. I immediately received a response from her staff agreeing that the neckline was incorrect. They instructed me to UPS the dress back to their shop, and send them the total for the UPS cost so they could reimburse me. She said

I loved my Dolly Couture dress! After finding the online store via Pinterest I visited the Tarzana location to try on dresses. I was pretty confident that I would find my dress there since very few other dress designers do the 50's-style, tea-length dresses I was looking for, but I just fell in love with the Avila Bay as soon as I put it on. Our wonderful helper at the store was able to recommend a few tweaks to the design of the dress to make it fit me perfectly. The dress arrived quickly and in perfect condition. It was very well constructed and the fabric/workmanship was of excellent quality. I received so many compliments from my guests on the day of my wedding. I can't imagine a more perfect dress!

I ordered my dress (The Cambridge) one month ago, with some custom measurements, and Abby was extraordinarily helpful to me over email. I had a million questions. She was truly a customer service star! I think we exchanged soemthing like 14 emails in one day, and to an anxious bride-to-be, that meant the world. Well they told me to expect the dress in 8 to 12 weeks, but it just arrived today, only 4 weeks later! I have not tried it on yet, because for some reason, I am afraid to do so. Is that weird? I'm afraid that I will snag it, or discolor it, or something. But I can tell you that the quality of the fabric is superb, and the dress is absolutely darling. It arrived inside a very nice garment bag, with an adorable pink polka dot bow tied around the hanger. I had it shipped to my office, and my co-workers are all oohing and aahing over it. I suppose I will gather up the courage to try it on soon, and if I have any changes to my opinion of Dolly Couture, I will write again. But somehow I doubt my opinion will be any less :)

So glad I stumbled across Dolly Couture's website in my wedding dress hunt! They made me a perfectly fun tea-length dress for my summer wedding! Before visiting the California store (I live in NM) - Nicole Scates worked with me in coming up with various designs. I finally was able to visit the store and am so glad I did because what I thought I wanted ended up not looking quite as I had envisioned and I found an even more perfect dress. The only downfall was because I didn't live in CA I had to find a seamstress in town for my alterations - but that wasn't so bad. All in all Dolly Couture was super easy and pleasant to work with and I was extremely happy with my dress!

Buying my dress was the easiest part of getting married. After trying on a few long dresses that were too formal (and would have dragged in the dirt) for my outdoor wedding in the mountains, I decided to go for a 1950's style cocktail length dress. Dolly Couture provided a fun consultation in Manhattan for me, my mom and my husband's mom. I fit into one of their standard sizes, but I asked for some custom alterations (the neckline of one standard dress with the skirt of another standard dress.) The dress arrived in the mail from Asia six weeks later (I was expecting it to take at least two months) and looked exactly like I wanted it to look. It didn't even require any alterations when I got married ten months later.

My wedding dress was THE prettiest wedding dress I have ever seen. Not that I'm biased or anything. ;-) But seriously, Dolly Couture is awesome! I visited their showroom in Tarzana, and I was in dress heaven. I wanted everything! The tea length, vintage styles were so unique and refreshingly different than the typical traditional "gowns" I kept seeing elsewhere. Nickie Scates, Sales Extraordinaire, let me try on as many dresses as I wanted (and I really wanted them ALL) until I narrowed it down to a final few. I finally chose the "Verona" style with a scoop neck, and I had it customized with long sheer sleeves and a cute pink sash. I placed my order, was told it would arrive in about 8 weeks, and we were on our way.

A day or so later, I got a sketch via email that Dolly herself made of what my dress was going to look like. It was so exciting to have a visual, and I couldn't wait for it to arrive!

The dress arrived about 4 weeks or so later - which was WAY ahead of schedule, and it was GORGEOUS! Like, totally, completely a one of a kind masterpiece. For real! I wanted to make a minor(?) modification though, but I didn't want to be annoying. I asked them if there was any slight chance that they'd be able to possibly change the neckline style. The scoop neck wound up not being the look I was after (ugh, picky brides, I know!). I was told that the in-house seamstress, Irma, could do that for me, no problem! Wow! And she did! She was REALLY good and super sweet. I brought the dress back, she designed a V-neck style, and had my dress ready for me in about a week. NOW it was perfect. Truly.

I love Dolly Couture, and everyone who works there. :-) They exemplify true professionalism, fantastic customer service, and Dolly's dresses are a work of art.

I said...Yes to the dress! Three things convinced me to have my dress made from Dolly Couture: 1) Dolly Couture has great reviews, 2) I love the vintage style dresses that Dolly Couture designed, 3) I even checked out Dolly Couture Facebook and saw REAL women of all sizes wearing their pretty DC dresses. So I decided to contact them with my questions about having my own custom dress made. One of the DC sales team, Nicki, worked with me and made the online order experience very easy for me being that I lived so far from California. She was so kind in helping me with my questions and ease my concerns about ordering a custom dress online, and using my beautiful Sari silk fabric.

At first, I was hesitant and nervous that my complicated Sari silk fabric may be too difficult for DC to make into a pretty vintage style dress and matching bolero. Nicki assured me that the dress designers are skilled to do these types of fabric. There was excellent communications exchanged throughout the process of my custom order. The DC team transformed my detailed sketch and written specifications into a one-of-a kind dress that I wanted. I was VERY impressed! I got my dress in about 8 weeks and I can't get enough of looking and touching it! And how lucky I am that it fits me like a glove and needs no alterations! I thank Dolly Couture and its team for their professionalism and hard work! The dress turned out gorgeous and SO well made. Dolly Couture designers are OUTSTANDING! I had an amazing 50's style tea length dress from Dolly Couture! It was unique in that it was an ivory lace over a light pink/peach underlay. I ordered my dress from Dolly's NYC showroom. Yvette did a wonderful job - had lots of recommendations for what looks good on my body type but also listened to what I wanted. I can't say enough good things about Montana and the Dolly Couture team. I went to the NY showroom with my sister because I wanted something "different." I tried on several dresses, got suggestions from the saleswoman, had my measurements taken, and was shown a number of different options. The stellar service really came from my emails with Montana though - I wanted something a little more custom, and she was great getting me sketches of my dream dress. I went to Dolly's NY showroom the month it opened, and Montana was wonderful! I knew what dress I wanted, but tried on a couple of others just in case and she was very patient. Dolly's customer service reached out to me because wanted to double check one of the measurements (I am not proportioned properly!) which was nice. The dress came quicker than expected and was perfect! There was a small problem with the sash, but they sent me a new one no problem and were very apologetic. Her representatives were wonderful. I was a bit nervous buying a wedding dress online since I wouldn't be able to try it on before buying, but it was well worth it! I asked if i could try something on in my size, and they shipped one of their store dresses to me so i could at least take a look at the quality and fitting. I sent that back and soon after put an order in for a custom dress that came back better than i had imagined. They say that their sizes are true-to-size, but for me, they ran just a tad small. This was the best dress buying experience ever! I was so overjoyed to locate this vendor online and find someone who makes affordable customized vintage dresses.

What made Dolly's store so great is the fact that there is no pressure sells person trying to get you to purchase every add-on feature with the dress. Instead you have someone helping you decide the style you want and how to put the look together. I was in and out of the store with a dress ordered within an hour, so I was one happy bride.

I got the Manhattan style with the rauched sweatheart neck. On the back I got buttons sewn and I dyed my petticoat a light blue. The dress without the additions was $600. The add-ons added an extra $150 to the total bill. I loved that it was so affordable. I looked at Stephanie James, but holy mole was it costly and it doesnt look like you can customize.

I ordered my dress in November and got it in February in the mail. It was in a clothing bag in a box stuffed with popcorn. The y dress was flawless and beautiful. As for alterations, I lost weight and had it taken in on the sides. The dress is sewn so alterations are not difficult to make. The shop does not make alterations, so you have to find a seamstress to do the job.

As for sizes, I normally wear a size 12 dress, and I got a size 12 dress. So the dress sizes are pretty standard.

I loved my dress and got a ton of compliments in how cool it was to have a short dress. The best part about it is having to pick out shoes because it totally makes the outfit. If your thinking about going short, DO IT! IT was the best choice because I was a summer bride and it was hot out, but I stayed cool since my legs were exposed. Also, if you're a mixture of a tradition with some modern chic, this dress will definitely fit your style.

First of all my dress was absolutely amazing! I had some dress drama and found out three weeks before the wedding that I needed to find a new dress. I had emailed Nikki at Dolly Couture about getting a dress. She responded fast and said that they had dresses that I could take immediately. She scheduled me a time to come in. When I went into the store there were a couple of different dresses for me to choose from. They had offered to make some changes to the dresses to personalize them for me in just days so that I could take the dress with me before I went home. In the end I was so happy with my dress.

I wish I could leave more than 5 stars! Most stress-free dress shopping experience ever! I made up my mind early on that I wasn't going to go the traditional route and visit bridal salons and be pushed around and forced to spend thousands of dollars for a dress.

I worked with Nickie to order my dress (Beverlywood) and was able to customize it (adding pockets, changing the waist, etc) with no problems whatsoever. I took the measurements and sent them and that was that! When the dress arrived, it was packaged up beautifully and fit - right out of the box! It didn't need steaming, it didn't need alterations, it was EXACTLY what I wanted and it was well made and GORGEOUS.

I can't recommend Dolly enough - if you're looking for a vintage-style or tea length dress, email her!

I ordered a fully-customized wedding dress from Dolly. It is a bit scary ordering a custom dress online and not being able to try it on until it is done. But, it was the BEST decision I could have made. The dress was perfect. It fit right out of the box, and it was STUNNING! Dolly's dresses are usually shorter in length, just past the knee, with fun petticoats to make the shirts 1950s full! I had pleating done along the neckline and hemline, and pockets sewn in. Everyone raved about my dress, and it was fun to dance in and easy to move around in all day. I felt like a modern day princess. My only regret is that I can't wear the dress every day! Dolly, and her colleague Nickie, are a pleasure to work with. They help you through the entire process and are very encouraging the whole way. And if you don't want a custom dress, Dolly has PLENTY of beautiful creations she has on hand. Take the leap and order a dress from Dolly!

So, I admit, I was your stereotypical "bridezilla", but hey, who isn't ;) I was skeptical at first ordering a dress online without trying it on, but once I found out you could do custom measurements, I was sold. I worked extensively back and forth with their sales associate. I decided to add capped sleeves to the dress and tweak the neckline in addition to shortening them hem an inch (I'm rather short). None of this was a problem. I always got the answer, "of course we can do that." They go above and beyond to make you feel like you are their top priority! When I got the dress I realized I had shrunk a bit due to the stress and dieting. I took it to my local seamstress to take it in and she commented on how well made it was. I thought that when I received the dress, but hearing it from a professional validated my first impression. Thanks to Dolly and her staff, I had the dress of my dreams for a great price! They really made me my perfect couture gown. I recommend Dolly Couture to any bride-to-be.

I really loved the dress that I bought from Dolly! It's a one of a kind dress that was one of her sample dresses. She couldn't make anymore of them because the fabric was discontinued. I bought the dress at a very discounted price! It's beautiful! Dolly is really fun to work with and talk to. She completely didn't mind and even suggested that I take the dress to a tailor, so that it fit my style and myself better because it was a sample. It was such a pleasure dealing with Dolly Couture in ordering my modified Beverlywood dress all the way from Australia. When I first started to look for a wedding dress I found that there were lots of dresses out there that were beautiful, but just not ‘me’. I was so thrilled to first find Dolly Couture and second be spoilt for choice.
Throughout the ordering process I found the staff helpful and patient with my ongoing questions. The dress arrived promptly and fit beautifully straight out of the box. There was a slip up whereby the protruding lace hem was made with the wrong fabric. The responsiveness and professionalism in which this was handled by the team at Dolly Couture was outstanding.

I was very hesitant when ordering a dress online. I wanted a tea length gown but I couldn't find one in any bridal shop anywhere! I decided to go custom, and that made me very nervous too.

Nickie at Dolly Couture put me at ease completely. If I could give her 100/5 I would. She actually shipped me a sample of a gown like mine for only the cost of shipping so I could see what I thought. I just couldn't believe she was that flexible. I kept it for a while and made sure everything was right, and sent her very detailed measurements and instructions, pulled from other photos I've seen to put together EXACTLY what I had in my mind. When it shipped (VERY quickly for a custom gown) I was nervous, I knew I'd have to get alterations or something, but it was perfect. Perfect fit, perfect color, perfect fabric, and I am VERY picky - hence having to go with a custom gown.

Nickie's service and Dolly Couture dedication were incredible. I counted up over 50 emails back and forth I sent with Nickie and each time she was completely responsive and fantastic. Overall I got a completely custom made gown for under $700.

Nickie and her team really went above and beyond - she even called me when she wasn't sure about one VERY MINOR detail of the dress. I knew I was in good hands, but I was just floored! I cannot recommend them enough.

The only tine 0.5 less thing I could possibly say about this dress is that some of the fabric doesn't look completely luxury - but it's not really supposed to. But it's MUCH better than what you'll find at David's Bridal. Or it might just look that way because I'm not that familiar with what a white dress should look like! I got an organza overlay on my dress and overall it really looks fantastic.

Dolly Couture is the perfect match for any picky bride who knows what she wants. If you want to be a little nontraditional with your dress length, style or even color they have you completely covered. My dress was one of their more expensive gowns and I still feel like I got a STEAL. If you're on the fence about ordering a dress online - go with Dolly. You won't be disappointed.

I had planned on going with a long dress and then about six weeks before my wedding i changed my mind and decided to go short. Dolly Couture was incredibly helpful in getting a dress to me on short notice. I even had time to get one layer of crinoline taken out. I know that everyone tells the bride she looks beautiful, but people did genuinely seem into my dress. I'm so glad I went short.

I was an early Dolly bride, before she had her Facebook page, and I dealt directly with Dolly myself. She couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful and was very patient as I vacillated between ideas and hesitated over whether to buy a dress online from another continent. In the end, I went with it and it was the best decision I ever made. The dress was extremely good quality and fantastic value, even taking into consideration the import taxes I had to pay. It was at least a size too big on the bust (fit perfectly around the waist) but this was not a problem as Dolly clearly states that you should source a local seamstress and allow time for alterations to ensure a perfect fit given that you are buying online. My dress was customised with a beautiful floor length tulle train decorated with flowers and ribbon that matched those around the hem of the dress. Beautiful as it was, this is where my only mild criticism is, because it came with 2 safety pins to attach it to the dress which were fiddly and I thought could damage the dress - I solved this by asking my seamstress to add some 'invisible' hooks and eyes which worked perfectly. All round, fantastic quality and service.

Abby was my consultant over the phone. She was easy to reach and gave great advice over the phone. She made me feel comfortable with the purchase especially since it was over the phone. I was able to try the dress on a year before I bought the dress. It was not the typically bridal experience that you see on those wedding dress shows. I loved the dress. The quality was great. The experience was great. I would absolutely recommend Dolly Couture to any future bride.

This place is awesome! I went to New York City to find my dress since NO shops in NOVA, MD, or DC carried a tea length dress with sleeves. Personally, I think every wedding dress out there looks the same; a strapless ballgown.

But Dolly Couture is fabulous. Most of the dresses are tea length and they have a HUGE selection to choose from and a nice price point. The dresses start at $500, and go up from there. I personally did not want to spend to a great deal on my dress, but fell in love with the Black Label Beverlywood. So my desire for a cheap dress went out the window, but I bought exactly what I wanted.

Yvette in NYC was fantastic and let me try on at least 10 different dresses. I suggest going to their website and seeing all the have to offer. Via email I corresponded with Montana on the dresses status and she was always quick to get back to me.

They have physical stores in Los Angeles and New York, but most of it is online.

Did a custom designed dress for me from their showroom in NYC. Such adorable and beautifully made dresses! The only place that does vintage-style, tea length wedding dresses right! They even were able to take fabric from my mother's wedding dress and incorporate it into mine. Now THAT'S amazing.

For me, choosing a wedding dress was the easiest aspect of my wedding planning. I had been eyeing Dolly Couture dresses for about 2 years, so when the time came for me I already knew exactly which one I wanted: the Manhattan.
I made an appointment at the Tarzana showroom, tried on a perfect fit, and went home to order it online. 10 weeks later it was at my doorstep, a perfect fit with no alterations required!
How did I get so lucky?!
I also love the Facebook integration allowing clients to tag photos and see what other brides have looked like in their custom Dolly dresses. It definitely helps get that inspiration flowing!

I bought a dress from Dolly Couture in NYC. They were very professional and helped me choose the perfect dress for my unique vintage wedding. They make each dress so it is very easily customizable. They even allow you to customize it to your size so minimal tailoring is needed later. My only critique is that on wedding day I was snipping off bits of elastic. It didn't ruin my dress but the lace parts had little elastic threads (almost looks like the threads after you hot glue gun a craft) and I had to snip them off.

My dress was absolutely beautiful and SO well made. My partner bought hers from David's Bridal and the experiences we each had are so far apart you cannot even compare them. I went to the Dolly Couture showroom in NYC to try on their dresses which made me incredibly comfortable with them and with their product, I don't know that I would have had the guts to just order it online without seeing it, but I can tell you that the quality was outstanding and the dress is GORGEOUS. The construction of the dress is impeccable, and Dolly's understanding of the feminine form is amazing. I got many compliments on the dress and a number of people suggested I find another place to wear it because it is so flattering. Haha, let me know if you think of other places I could do that!

I bought my Dolly Couture dress online and had a wonderful experience. I was a little worried about the inherent risks of ordering my wedding dress online, but everything worked out wonderfully. The measurements they gave for the different dress sizes were accurate and the dress was made out of nice materials and overall well-made. It was sturdy! They were also extremely quick! I think I got my dress 3 weeks quicker than they estimated, which was a pleasant surprise. It was hard finding a dress that fit my qualifications (not strapless, lace, tea-length, reasonable price), but Dolly Couture perfectly fit my vision. I ended up having a couple of small alterations done (took out some of the tulle underneath to make it a little less poofy and stitched the front lace a bit to make it lie better on my chest), but otherwise it fit well. If the 50s vintage style dress is what you are looking for, Dolly couture is the way to go.

I really wanted a tea length or shorter wedding dress, and I had a really hard time finding stores in my area that carried them. I also wear a size 24 dress, so I had a doubly difficult time finding dress shops that could accommodate a fitting for me. I visited the DC showroom in Los Angeles, and they had several plus sized dresses available for me to try on. I went into the store with a pretty good idea of what I wanted, just based on their website, but in the end I picked a completely different dress and fabric. I was able to customize my dress and my fabric choices, and I still kept my dress cost under $1000.

My only criticism would be that, even though the clerk took my measurements, she ended up rounding up to the next highest regular dress size, rather than using my actual measurements to customize the dress, so it ended up being WAY too big for me. Luckily, my local alterations lady did an amazing job fitting me, but she basically had to take the dress apart and reconstruct the entire thing.

Despite that, I had a really good over-all experience with Dolly Couture. They were flexible with my schedule and happy to help me with my customization options. The dress was completed and shipped directly to my house in just a few weeks. I would definitely recommend them if you are interested in a shorter vintage style wedding dress.

I had a 60's themed wedding and tea length dresses are not in abundance, except here. And the value is AMAZING. I gave them lower than 5 stars on a few because I did receive my dress without the petticoat sewed in like agreed and without my sash BUT they were extremely responsive and got it fixed right away.

I knew before I got engaged that I wanted a tea length dress. I'm so clumsy and I've read too many horror stories involving dresses with long trains. I live in the Bay Area, so I planned a trip to SoCal and made an appointment. When you set the appointment, be prepared to say which dresses you want to try on and know your Dolly Couture size. I had to email some of that information after I set the appointment. I met with Merrie at Your Big Day. It was hard to find. The outside is just this sketchy looking warehouse, but the inside was nice. There was a sample sale going on during my appointment and my favorite dress (the Brighton) was only available a size too small. I figured I had plenty of time to lose weight before my wedding, so I bought it, but as my date got closer and the back fat wasn't coming off, this was a huge source of stress for me. The dress I ended up wearing on the day was not a Dolly and it actually looked closer to the Walnut Creek I originally wanted to try on that wasn't available. Merrie also talked me into adding a ruched belt for extra money and I regret doing that now. I feel it's going to make it harder for me to resell the dress. Oh well.

I ordered a custom dress from Dolly Couture. Based on the top half of one dress - with changes, and the bottom half of another. While visiting NYC, I had my measurements taken and placed my order. 8 weeks later, the dress arrived - early. Yay! And then I checked it out. Instead of Champagne, it was White. Instead of 3/4 length sleeves, they were above the elbow. A number of other issues existed as well, mainly with measurements being very off. I contacted Nickie ASAP and provided her with photos of the measurements compared to what they should be, etc. I sent my dress back. 3 weeks later a new dress arrived. Everything was fixed EXCEPT the sleeves were just to the elbow this time and were missing the buttons that help them to be fitted. However, with an upcoming wedding I couldn't send it back AGAIN. So I sucked it up that I would have *nearly* my dream dress and they sent the buttons and I had a local gal put them on.

While the sleeves left me sad (seriously - proper 3/4 length is much more flattering), the dress did look beautiful. I've had so many compliments. My big complaint is that the errors never should have occurred. The sleeves, when measured, are still not the right length as we discussed on my purchase contract or the revision. HOWEVER, Nickie and the DC office were nothing but apologetic about the errors and incredibly helpful. In the end, I'm still glad I went with a Dolly dress.

If you are looking for shorter, vintage style wedding dresses, Dolly Couture is the place to go. A little risky ordering online, but well worth it. Quality material, great customer service, and truly unique wedding dresses. I ordered the "Marin County" and loved it! You can even see "real brides" wearing these dresses on facebook. Made it a lot easier to imagine how I'd look in her dresses. Highly recommended.

I was so excited when I found Dolly Couture. She made dresses that were in the style I had dreamed of for my wedding. I was skeptical of the quality due to the reasonable cost, and the outsourcing of the dressmaking. I also was a little skeptical because a lot of the dresses on real brides on her facebook page looked ill-fitting/cheap. I decided to go with her anyway and was so excited that she could make my dream dress a reality. Dolly & her staff are very responsive and open to any idea you may throw their way. We went back and forth for maybe a month and finally nailed down exactly what I wanted. Well... it took a lot longer than expected to arrive and when it arrived it was HORRIBLE! It was a week before the wedding with little time for alterations. The quality was fantastic but the cut was all wrong. It was HUGE and the sweetheart neckline was about 5 inches too high. The sleeves were as loose as a t-shirt and they were NOT as we agreed upon (satin with lace overlay, they came as just lace) and I was pretty upset about the whole thing. I looked like a little kid playing in her grandmas closet. Luckily I was able to find someone to alter the dress on the fly and when I got it back it was stunning, but I credit the seamstress for that rather than Dolly Couture. The seamstress did remark about the fantastic quality of the dress construction though. If I did it again I would have tried to meet with Dolly in person to talk about the dress and take my measurements. No bride should have the stress I went through just 1 week before the wedding.

I hate to write this. I've never written a review before for anything, but I need to for this.
I knew exactly what I wanted going into the showroom in NYC. I believe my consultant was Yvette, and she was a very nice lady. However, she definitely pushed me into things I didn't want. I was looking for the Avila Bay dress, off the shoulder, with sleeves. They didn't have the entire dress that I wanted, so I tried on multiple dresses each with something that I wanted. Yvette was very insistent that I shouldn't get the ruched waist detail that comes on the dress, which I loved from the get-go, but I understood what she meant about it breaking up my body too much. She also insisted that the waist needed to be dropped, which I didn't really understand at the time, and it made the dress lay funny on my when it came. The biggest thing that bothered me was that she absolutely refused to listen to me when I said I wanted the dress shorter. I'm only 5'2, so the dress was pretty long on me. She said no, I just needed to wear heels. I tried to explain to her that I can't wear heels, not only because my wedding was outdoors on bumpy ground, but because I have problems with my feet and I literally can't wear heels for 5 minutes without not being able to walk. But she wouldn't listen. She said there was no way I could wear flats. Keep the dress the way it is, wear heels, that's that. I just gave in eventually because I figured she knows way more than me. But when I got my dress, it didn't look right. The length of the dress made me look super short. It also didn't fit, even though I hadn't gained even an inch. I was very strict about my measurements. Also the chest was super pointy, like a Madonna bra! My seamstress did her best to flatten them twice but they were still so pointy. I feel terrible for feeling this way, but I felt awful and uncomfortable in my dress. I feel like I was pressured into something I didn't want, and then what I got was even worse. I'm still sad about it

There is no showroom in NYC. I was able to try on a choice of 2 dresses in the home of a store rep, which was inconvenient and strange. I liked one of the dresses and ordered it, however when it arrived it had extra puffy layers that I had to pay to get removed. The dress ended up working out well, but I would have rather gone to a regular bridal shop with more selection and service.

I really wanted to love Dolly Couture. They had exactly the style of dress I was looking for, short vintage, so I was completely jazzed to get a dress from them. I didn't have the best of experiences, when my dress came in it fit badly, made me look like I had a bun in the oven (even though I drove 3 hours to DC to have them measure me). Also there were a couple of mistakes made on the dress such as a petticoat being sewn into the dress even though I paid extra to get a separate petticoat that I could remove. The quality of the stitching was poor as well, with some asymmetrical hems that made it look cheaply made. I had spent ALOT of money on the dress and didn't get what I thought I would. DC was very nice about it all though, they apologized and said they would fix it, so I sent the dress back to them and they ended up making me a new one. When I got that new dress in the petticoat was still sewn in and it was too late to send it back to them so I just had to work with a tailor to fix it. In the end I think DC shouldn't be charging so much for their dresses, and having some sort of quality control in place that won't let a dress get shipped if it's not made correctly.

I was so excited when I found Dolly Couture online. I needed a dress for our elopement, and thought a short dress would be great. I went with the Beverlywood because I wanted my arms covered. Well.... I emailed to make sure of some things before ordering, was not told that a petticoat would be sewn into the dress. So I ordered one and later discovered it was unnecessary. The only asked for two measurements, which unfortunately did not fit a standard size, was between 2 sizes. So I stupidly ordered a custom (which cannot be returned). The dress arrived quite quickly, which was good. The quality was not very good (I had threads coming out from the sleeves etc and they looked awful and cheap basically). The buttons on them looked cheap and tacky and like they'd fall off pretty easily. The dress was far too big for the measurements I gave. The dress was not tight to the waist or the breasts. It was also far too short on my body, making me look far larger than I am. They really should be asking for more measurements. I'm trying to sell the disaster dress now and I bought a much more beautiful one for less than this cost. Nearly a grand wasted at the moment on dealing with this company. Oh well, shouldn't order dresses off the internet from a store that refuses to accept returns for 'custom' measurements I suppose!

I was thrilled to have found Dolly Couture – a dress company that offered to make me a custom vintage-style dress in my choice of colors – but the results were disastrous. The online sales consultant was slow to return my emails. When she did return them, she was thorough and helpful. She was happy to modify a dress design for me and source two specialty fabrics. However, when I asked to get swatches of the fabric, I was told I could only get one of the fabrics. I should have known that something was wrong based on the service I received, but I had few options to get the dress I wanted. So, I took a chance on Dolly Couture based on very good online reviews. I had to pay for the entire dress upfront (rather than a deposit like most designers charge). The dress was over a month late in arriving, and, when it did, it was ill-fitted and poorly constructed. The fabric was of decent quality, but both fabrics were different colors than I requested. The custom crinoline I paid to have dyed to match was also the wrong color and did not match the dress. It was unwearable as received. Dolly offered to modify the dress, but I did not feel that we had time to modify the dress one month before my wedding given their poor history of construction and timeliness. Thankfully, I found a wearable dress at a sample sale, but I was almost without a dress due to Dolly Couture’s mistakes. I was also out almost $1,000 (not including the new dress) as they refused to refund any of my money based on their mistakes.
